Like so many french people fucking PISSED on my culture less than two centuries ago, and it's so casual to still do it in lesser ways, to make jokes about alcoholism or dead languages or whatever else.

And when I feel the need to talk about that, to express how much it hurts me sometimes, how much I care for this country and how used we are to this, I FEEL OBNOXIOUS.

I feel obnoxious because I've been told over and over that's what we are, whenever we complain. it's old history. But it's not.

Barely over a century ago, we faced cultural genocide. And it feels like gaslighting to be told in the same breath that we're exaggerating and it didn't happen, and that we threaten France's "linguistic integrity".

Sometimes I feel like I'm exaggerating. And in that moment I remember that I have, as of yet, to research Breton history or culture without finding a line about how things were lost, destroyed or damaged because of France's actions against our people.

You don't have to care whatsoever but I felt the need to express that today.

Last weekend, I was in Rennes to attend the Marché Coupeau, organised by fellow creator Laura Coupeau. The market was for small creative businesses only, full of various gorgeous handmade goods.

The market was great, the crowd it drew was so lovely and curious and welcoming !

And any occasion to head to Bretagne is always a treat, it's were half of my family hails from, and it is were life is the nicest for me. It feels deeply like home.
