the Panzerkampfwagen 8 Maus, the heaviest tank in history (beaten in size by the Char d'assaulte FCM 2C), weighed a whopping 188 tons, about the weight of a fully grown blue whale! it was intended for use as a portable bunker, but it's horrible mobility, large size, and the lack of materials in Germany caused the project to be cancelled. A combinatation of the 2 prototypes lives on today at the Kubinka tank museum in Russia.
