Human Eridan Ampora is in the Strawberry Shortcake's Summer Vacation Netflix Movie. He’s the villain. Classist, rich, arrogant, purple theme, wears stripes, has ^this line with a lot of w’s……
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I checked the wiki for his character name, Boysenberry Mousse, and it describes him as “snooty and self entitled”. I’m no Eridan expert but it would be funny to watch it again more closely just to try and catch references and parallels. I wonder if the creators have any history on their social media of knowing about homestuck.

General Thoughts on Strawberry Shortcake's Summer Vacation
And so we come to the last of the SSC seasonal specials.
Unfortunately, this is definitely the worst of the specials. It just wasn't a lot of fun. It might be realistic to have the initial conflicts (old friends vs. new, sibling who went to the city vs. the one who stayed home), but it's not very compelling watching characters we don't know be mean to characters we do. Things picked up a bit during the treasure hunt, but even that wasn't enough to salvage this special.
And the villain didn't feel right for this kind of story. I'm sorry, but I can't believe that the buffoonish man-child that is Boysenberry Mousse would be able to get a dam built in the first place, and since that's the catalyst for this whole story, that's a pretty glaring problem. A land stealing villain needs to be a little more cunning, IMO. The entire special is asking for a lot of suspension of disbelief, maybe a little too much.
This special also suffers due to a lack of the Mean Berries and the Purple Pie Man, but I don't think adding them would have elevated the story that much.
But there were some things I liked, like getting to see Strawberry's family (even if they messed up the established naming convention by having Strawberry get the first part of her name from her mom, not dad). And now that Apple Dumpling has arrived, there are BitBC versions of all the characters from the OG 80s special, The World of Strawberry Shortcake. But that's really about it.

high protein foods review
not much point trying everything if i just forget aye
protein powders
perform chocolate whey (): its mid but better than vanilla cos theres some flavour
perform vanilla whey (): mid
muscle nation vanilla custard casein (): the casein flavour is sickening but texture is ok
Bsc caramel protein mousse (): good flavour very creamy with crunchy bits, and casein is tolerable, consistency dependent on amount of water
muscle nation protein custard golden ice cream (): really yummy it tastes like ice cream and has honeycomb, biscuit and something else in it
Bsc cookies and cream protein mousse (148kcal/23.3p): it's just the cookies a cream flavour with no texture, its alright
protein bars
aussie bodies lo carb whipped chocolate (): its ok
aussie bodies lo carb salted caramel (): its ok
aussie bodies lo sugar crunch rocky road (33g/129cal/8p): not really a legit protein bar, it's basically exactly like the image on the packaging, dark chocolate coat with liquorice, and it's like soy protein nuggets not like a normal protein bar. it was ok i just wanted to try it, but wouldn't get it again
noway marshmallow bar birthday cake (45g/135cal/14p): literally a chewy marshmallow in dark chocolate could not taste the bday cake flavour cos of bitter chocolate. trash
musashi high protein milk chocolate brownie (90g/309kcal/45p): mid and kinda flavourless except the chocolate coat but good ratio for a bar
musashi high protein cookies & cream (90g/308kcal/45.5p): has a weird taste not as good as choc brownie
maxines burn bar choc caramel crunch (40g/124kcal/15p): tastes ok, like crunchy but chewier, lots of chocolate
maxines burn bar white choc raspberry (40g/124kcal/14.7p): very good, actually tastes like the flavour. pretty dense but not too hard. actually it's a little sickeningly sweet
quest birthday cake (60g/177kcal/21p): good, tastes like sugar or a yoghurt bar. the new one doesnt have a chocolate coat but its chewy and nice even though its a homogeneous texture. probably the best quest bar
quest choc chip cookie dough (60g/193kcal/21p): chewy and relatively soft, no chocolate coat but has chunks. tastes ok but kind of like nothing, a little like chewing cardboard
quest cookies and cream (60g/193kcal/21p): soft and kind of dry, no coating, a little sweet, better texture than cookie dough
quest raspberry white choc (60g/188kcal/20p): really chewy but u can taste the 13g of fibre. quite sweet and good taste, no coating too. i feel like all quest bars have the same base with different mix-ins
Bsc low carb bar cookies and cream (60g/205kcal/19.2p): not good but ok compared to other cookies and cream flavours, layer of pear concentrate hmm
Bsc low carb bar toffee apple (60g/ 208kcal/17.2p): it tastes like a museli bar. its quite soft and has a white chocolate coat with honeycomb pieces on top. pleasantly mid.
onset boysenberry (30g/106kcal/10.7p): coated in dark chocolate which I'm not a fan of, quite soft and light, not dense at all so slightly larger than expected, berry flavour is not strong
crankt salted caramel (60g/213kcal/20.3p): really soft and has milk chocolate coat. can't really taste caramel, tastes strongly of protein. kind of mid, it's ok if ur used to the taste of protein
protein snacks
justines keto cookies chocolate chip & raspberry white choc (): well they don't taste good but they're ok, id say it's an acquired taste cos i hated it at first
yoghurt
chobani fit (): kinda sour but ok, limited range of flavours
yopro perform (): they're ok, only 2 flavours in big pots, key lime is the best
yopro high protein (): i like how its a nice round calorie number per serve, they all taste ok but salted caramel is the best
yoplait forme zero strawberry (100g/37kcal/4.4p): ridiculously low calorie so i don't care how it tastes but it tastes good like normal yoghurt
cottage cheese
bulla (): very good
bulla onion and chives (): the onion is disgusting
aldi westacre (125g/111kcal/16.5p): very good too, doesn't get watery after opening
woolworths creamed (100g/93kcal/11.3p): dense and salty, does get watery, also it's still lumpy
gum
extra intense mint: the mint flavour lasts hours but it's just mint not exciting
extra pineapple coconut: nice sweet flavour and lasts decently long
5 blueberry: good, not too strong flavour which lasts not that long

Ok but wtf with this episode??? It was so good??
My list of favorite "things said" in this episode (spoilers, ofc)
1. Ryan: "I've thought about it every night before I go to sleep" (I know it was said as a joke, but still)

3. [to Snoopy] "Oh, it's so good to see you!" (PURE JOY IN THEIR VOICES!!!)
4. Both: "I mean" (another one to the list of ryan and shane living in sync)
5. Both: "I looove the faaarm"
6. [Shane whips his handkerchief] Ryan: "Oh my gOd"
7. Ryan: "We're off to a good start here" (His voice :'))
8. They sped up Ryan's history lesson again 🙃
9. Ryan: "You guys want some nachos? This is my gift to you. Enjoy." (can you imagine existing and then Ryan Bergara) (I hope they knew who he was)
10. Close up of the egyptian necklace ❤️
11. Ryan: "Swallow, man"
12. Ryan: "You're gonna have to pull it together, okay?" (🥺)
13. Ryan: "We got a C.D. alert, C.D. alert, set it off. Why is no one excited? Could they not hear the alarm or is that just in my head?" (why is he so 💞💞)
14. Shane: "I've seen you high outta your mind eating a corn dog" (the mental picture of that is not clean at all)
15. Ryan: "One time, Shane and I went to Disneyland. I don't know what that is 👁️👁️" (FDKDJSKJ)
16. THE FACE OF THE MAN PASSING BEHIND THEM WHEN THEY SCREAM "It's Boysenberry mustard!" I CAN'T-
17. "Senf" makes a comeback!!
18. 201 walters, sync again
19. Ryan: "We've been on the same page recently" Shane: "Yeah, that's weird" (guys, you have been for most of your lives, did you just realize?)
20. Shane: "The mousse is all berry, baby"
21. Shane: "657 walters out of ten" [Ryan laughs] 😂
22. Shane: "I'm gonna give this a six... thousand" [Ryan laughs] "one hundred and fourty two"
23. Ryan: "It's time for the portion of the show that we call Ryan's rides. That's where we ride what Ryan wants to ride" (dead)
24. Ryan: "So I'm gonna get on by myself (btw, Ryan looks so good in that scene) and Brittney's gonna play Shane" [focuses on Shane's geumpy face]
25. Brittney: "Eat more food" (thank you 🙏)
26. Ryan: "I'm just curious what the human body is capable of" [Ryan looking into the distance with big eyes] (psycho Ryan au?)
27. Ryan: "Iced cream?" (they really were both loopy)
28. [looking at the Boysenberry Float] Shane: "How do we even do this? Do we sip it?" Ryan: "That's typically what I do with drinks" (I missed his sarcasm)
29. Both: "Euh eh, zammo" (i don't know why, but I found this part so funny)
30. Ryan: "I'm gonna go with two... hundred" (he looks really good, again)
31. Ryan: "The other day I was actually thinking that I really missed my childhood dog. Now I could go play fetch with my dog after this" (Ryan pls JDJKDH)
32. Shane: "Okay, we've got this large piece of meat up top" [Ryan starts laughing hard] "Oh, that's nice. I like the feel of that" [Ryan laughs harder] (what was going on in that mind of his, Ryan, we see you)
33. Ryan keeps laughing, that's a good sound 😌
34. Shane: "And then I would've eaten the milkshake and I would've passed away" [Ryan laughs hysterically]
35. Ryan already said this, but it's funny how the big spoon looks normal in Shane's hand, but then you look at Ryan's hand and boom, it's gigantic
36. Cookie ASMR
37. "Ryan Bergara, a noble death by berry" (DEAD AGAIN)

poinsettia, tulip, myrtle
Poinsettia: Favorite holiday dish?
“The pumpkin muffins with Halloween ought to be the best. Especially - you’ll just have to take my word for it - if you add some boysenberry jam!”
Tulip: For your birthday, what kind of cake do you ask for?
“I usually ask for a dessert buffet for my birthday instead of a cake so, you know, I can fill up my plate with tiny desserts of all sorts. From marzipan flowers to little cups of chocolate mousse or even raspberry frosted cupcakes! Though I guess if I could only choose cake, I would go for that strawberry flavoured one… what’s it called again? With like the pink gelatin? Oh yes! Bavarois!”
Myrtle: Do you like going on airplanes?
“As long as I can have a seat by the window, one hundred percent yes!”

Wine Reviews
All wines are available at the PA Wine & Spirits Stores. To find bottles near you, we suggest using our Wine Finder App: https://www.vinology.com/winefinder/
Mark Herold 2014 “Collide” Red, California
Despite drinking like a luxury Napa wine, this is something very different. Exactly where the grapes come from is unclear. It’s a blend of Tempranillo, Petite Sirah, Graciano, Carignan, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet, so probably much of the fruit comes from older vineyards in Sonoma and the Central Coast.
The style is pure fruit, with bursts of blackberry, cola, and sweet vanilla. The voluptuous richness is balanced with milk chocolate and hawthorn. I’d say this bottle under-represents it’s ABV on the label. I would be surprised if it wasn’t 16.1% alcohol.
Price: $16.99  | Wine Rating: 91 Points | Availability: Wine & Spirits Stores in PA
  Matetic 2014 Corralillo Syrah
The Matetic is an organic-wine-on-steroids bottle of Syrah from a sub-region of Casablanca on the Chilean coast. Aromas of fresh fig and beef jerky kick off the party. Textually, this bottle is dynamic. A full bodied, layered tannins, with an edge of sauvage. Smoked flavors roll into blackberry and a mineral-laced finish. An incredible value.
Price: $14.99  | Wine Rating: 91 Points | Availability: Wine & Spirits Stores in PA
Isabella 2016 Bobal, Ribera del Jucar
Bobal has always been used locally as a blending grape, but over the past decade it’s becoming more common to offer it as a single-varietal wine. This particular bottle is a great introduction to the grape. The price can’t be beat, and it’s super gulp-able. Soft tannins and medium bodied, this is a gulp-able wine with plenty of vanilla-spice and big red fruit. It’s a crowd-pleaser, to be sure.
Price: $7.99  | Wine Rating: 89 Points | Availability: Wine & Spirits Stores in PA
Carden  2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley
This winery may be on it’s last vintage, but I’m just glad to have access to this monster Cabernet. Like some other Columbia Valley Cabernet we’ve reviewed recently, this is made by an Oregon winemaker: this time by the brilliant Tony Rynders, formerly of Domaine Serene.
Masterful in execution, has a beauty that is rare in such powerful wines. Layered aromas of licorice, cigar box, and smoked tea. The lush palate is buttressed with dense tannins and enough acidity to keep the whole affair intact. The reference here is clearly Chateau Margaux.
Price: $24.99  | Wine Rating: 94 Points | Availability: Wine & Spirits Stores in PA
North by Northwest 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley
North by Northwest is the Columbia Valley brand owned by King Estate, best known for it’s Oregon Pinot Noirs. The brand has been kicking around since 2005, but it’s making inroads into the East Coast only recently. Like many Columbia Cabernet, it’s got amazing fruit in the bottle and equally attractive price on the label.
This wine sports an attractive bouquet of cocoa, graphite, and toasted apple wood. The palate is deeply extracted with dense boysenberry notes followed by Asian five spice and a finish that turns up the sweet vanilla and plum notes. Under $20, this is a steal.
Price: $15.99  | Wine Rating: 90 Points | Availability: Wine & Spirits Stores in PA
Shannon Ridge “Vigilance” 2017 Sauvignon Blanc, Red Hills
Shannon Ridge is becoming a favorite in Pennsylvania. It’s wines have showed up in so many Chairman Selection offerings, that it’s becoming a annual tradition to review a bottle or two of their wines. This bottling is quite a pleasant surprise, exceeding their very good 2016 Sauvignon Blanc.
This bottle is exactly what an SB drinker wants. Bright fresh grapefruit flavors, a touch of exotic citrus, and a touch of snipped chive and strawberry leaf on the nose.
Price: $10.99  | Wine Rating:88 Points | Availability: Wine & Spirits Stores in PA
Andre Delorme Blanc de Blancs Brut Reserve, Burgundy
A $10 bottle of bubbles that drinks like a decent bottle of Champagne? Say it isn’t so! This bottle of bubbles is crafted in a modern Moët & Chandon style. This is the bottle I’ll be drinking on Sunday afternoon, possibly with Oysters Rockefeller.
Made in Burgundy, this Blanc de Blanc is a blend of Chardonnay and Aligote. Fresh flavors of ripe peaches and hazelnuts, the pin-point bubbles bring a fine mousse and an pretty honeysuckle aroma to the the experience.
Price: $9.99  | Wine Rating: 89 Points | Availability: Wine & Spirits Stores in PA

Geek Alert: Swiss Wines
There are a few nice quotes about the Wine School in this month’s Condé Nast Traveler. It’s an article on Swiss wines, and it’s worth a read: https://www.cntraveler.com/story/the-swiss-wine-vacation-we-all-need-to-take
