Summary: Prompt 588: Lous hires a ‘ghost cooking’ service because his family is worried he’s not eating well and he wants to impress them by showing them what an amazing cook he’s become. The service includes sending a discreet cook to your house and have them get everything ready so that you only serve and take the credit. Problem is, his sisters (can be OCs if that’s more comfortable) get to his flat earlier than planned and the actual cook has to hide in the master bathroom for hours. Louis is mortified. The cook is amused and helps him to clean and well. Gives him a thorough service. Feel free to pick your fave as the cook.

Yeah, Show!Louis bottoms for Show!Lestat and loves every moment. He’s too in his head and conflicted about his sexuality. I get switch from Lestat, he’s a whore (proudly!) and will take it any way he can get it!

According to Chris Rice, yes, Louis is the bottom. 

It’s now … tenuously canon, but I want to say that it’s been my personal aesthetic. There is nothing in canon that would suggest who tops or who bottoms in a Louis/Lestat relationship. 1 + 1 = NO CLUE HERE. Relationships are too complex to determine bedroom behavior.

However, I can tell you why I choose to write bottom!Louis, which strangely is the same reason I prefer top!Lestat. When I take Lestat’s possessiveness, his brattiness, his conceit and then strip his character of his trademarked confidence, what I see weak-tea Lestat. Lestat becomes nasally, whiny, not a guy I would bang. 

Lestat is PLENTY insecure. But there are two things Lestat is NOT insecure about: his looks and his mastery in the bedroom. This is where Lestat excels. Intellectually he’s intimidated by Louis, which is why he sneers at his books and his journals.  Am I going to swear off top!Louis? Of course not, I just have yet to see it done in a way, which rings true to Louis’ character. I often see attributes associated with Lestat, misplaced in Louis. I love Louis for very different reasons that do not coincide with my reasons for loving Lestat.

Personally, I think Lestat is a switch hitter but he prefers to top Louis because Louis is uptight AF and the only way he can shut off Louis’ brain is to make him shut if off. Louis is much too self-possessed. His reserve is misconstrued as coldness by Lestat. I believe Louis would be the perfect Dom in a Dom/Sub relationship because he would never, ever lose control. But Dom/Sub doesn’t necessarily equate to pitcher/catcher so there’s that to contend with. Dom-ing arises from Louis having had enough of Lestat’s undisciplined behavior, not something that sexually gratifies him.

Aesthetically, my narrow mind can’t handle subby Lestat. That’s what it comes down to. Nothing more. Louis bottoms because subby!Lestat is not my jam. Not because the Powers That Be proclaim it thus.

So I tread through fic carefully, like a cat burglar, collecting valuables to appreciate, yet hypervigilant, afraid that every scene can result in a curtain drop. And behind it – Lestat getting reamed by a very calm and collected Louis wearing earplugs as Lestat screams: “fuck me Looooooooooooooooooooooooouis,” like a punctured balloon. Just not my aesthetic. Sorry. Personal taste.
