For ice cream-
1 kg bottle gourd
2 tbsp ghee
2 cups milk
¾ cup sugar
3 drops green food coloring
2 tbsp almonds (roasted)
¼ tsp cardamom powder
Silver work (for decoration)
For milk coconut mixture-
1 tsp ghee
1½ cups milk
¾ cup milk powder
1 cup coconut (grated or grated)
Method to make gourd barfi recipe:-
1.To make Loki's Barfi, we have to take Loki and peel the Loki.
2. Now the loki has to be washed well and dried by wiping it well with a cloth.
3. Now loki has to be grated and if there are seeds then the seeds have to be removed. Try not to play the part of the middle.
4. Now we have to take a big pan and put ghee in it and heat it. Now add grated bottle gourd to it.
5. Fry the lauki for 5 minutes or until the water leaves and the lauki becomes soft.
6. Now add sugar and a little green food color to it and stir.
7. Now let the sugar melt completely and mix well.
8. Now in the meantime, heat ghee, milk, milk powder in a pan and mix well.
9. Now add one cup of coconut powder to it and mix it well.
10. Now when the thick mixture is ready after cooking, leave the mixture in the pan. So the pan has to be removed from the heat.
11. Now this prepared mixture has to be put in the lauki kadai.
12. Now reduce the flame of the pan to medium and cook the mixture mixing well.
13. Now all the mixture has to be cooked in a pan until the mixture does not leave the vessel.
14. Now see if the mixture is leaving the vessel and changing shape.
15. Now you have to add almonds and cardamom powder to it and mix it well.
16 . Now we have to take a smooth plate or tray and prepare the plate by applying ghee properly.
17. Now take out the prepared mixture in a plate and with the help of a ladle, spread the mixture evenly on the plate.
18. Now the plate has to be kept in a cool place or in the fridge.
19. Now after 2 hours you have to see that the barfi must have been set.
20. Now we have to paste silver work on it if you have it.
21. Now in the plate itself, with the help of a knife, cut the barfi in the shape of your choice.
22. Now your Loki Barfi recipe is ready to eat, you can eat it even during fasting.

Dude I got Kheer from a new place and I'm so disappointed. It's soup. Sweet soup with rice and cardamom. That is not what I was craving.
oh no,,,,,, wait should i give you a recipe? kheer can be made with a lot of different ingredients - my mom makes it with either rice, sevaiyaan (vermicelli), sabudana (tapioca sago according to the internet), bottle gourd or dalia (wheat with the husk). rice kheer is not sweet soup it has this like thick texture and usually a lot of dry fruits (raisins, cashews, almonds, etc). i am sorry you had to experience that.

Suzhiyam | Sweet Bonda | Suzhiyan | Seeyam | Poornalu Ingredients For the filling Chana dal - 1 cup Water - 1.5 cup Jaggery - 1 cup Grated coconut - 1/2 cup Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp Ghee For the batter Parboiled rice - 1/2 cup Raw rice - 1/2 cup Urad dal - 1/4 cup Salt Oil for deep frying Method For making the batter 1. Wash and soak raw rice, idly rice and urad dal each separately for 5 hours or overnight. 2. Transfer urad dal to a mixer grinder and grind them to a fine paste. 3. Same way grind idly rice and raw rice to a smooth paste like we do for making idly. 4. Transfer ground flour to a mixing bowl and add required salt, mix well. 5. Batter consistency should be like idly batter which is slightly thick. 6. Allow them to ferment overnight For making the filling 1. Soak chana dal in water for 2 hours. 2. Pressure cook for 3 whistles with enough water such that the dal is completely immersed. 3. Dissolve the jaggery in some water and bring it to a boil and set it aside 4. To a pan, add the grounded chana dal and strain the jaggery to it and let it come to a boil. 5. Add grated coconut, cardamom powder to the chana dal - jaggery mixture. Mix everything well for 2 minutes in low flame, till it comes together. 6. Pinch a small portion of the stuffing / pooranam, and roll it into a ball, little tightly. 7. Make equal sized balls with all the pooranam. Making Suzhiyam 1. Now dip kadalai paruppu pooranam in the fermented batter and fry them in hot oil over medium flame until they are slightly brown in color. 2. You can serve the suzhiyam hot or at room temperature. #Suzhiyam Lauki Kheer Ingredients Bottle Gourd/lauki Sabudana - 1/4 Cup Water Ghee - 2 Tbsp Full Fat Boiled Milk - 1 Litre Cardamom Pods (Pound The Seeds) Dried Rose Petals (Optional) (Rose Water/Essence) Sugar 3/4 Cup Cashew Nuts Raisins Method 1. Soak the tapioca pearls for a minimum of 2 hours 2. Heat ghee in a pan. 3. Fry raisins and cashew nuts till slightly browned. 4 Add the grated Lauki and fry for 5-6 minutes on low heat until it is softened. 5. Add milk in the pan. 6. Once the milk starts to boil, simmer the heat and let the kheer thicken. 7. Add the soaked tapioca pearls in the milk and cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes. 8. Keep stirring in between. 9. Once the kheer has thickened to the desired consistency, add cardamom powder and sugar. 10. Cook for another 3-4 minutes. 11. Garnish with almond and slivers and rose petals. 12. Navratri is one such festival in which we can enjoy as well as can take good care of our health by naturally detoxifying your body with Navratri fasting.
Detoxifying means removing the toxins from your body and cleansing it just by consuming a particular diet.
Navratri is a festival of joy, happiness. It is the festival where puja of Maa Durga is performed. This festival lies in between the change of seasons and hence, to get used to such climate change, we are fasting for 9 days in which we only consume fruit & liquid diet.
Here's are some of my healthy diet tips for the Navratri fasting that will help you in your fasting.
These nine days are actually for detoxifying your body which includes cleansing, nourishing and building up.
The first three days (day 1-3) are meant for cleansing in which one should consume soup made from Green Potato, White Pumpkin, Red Pumpkin, Bottle Gourd, Green Mung Beans, Rajgira, and Buckwheat. Consume Coconut water and fruit salad to keep your metabolism up.
The next three days (Day 4-6) are for nourishing your body. For nourishment, one should consume Buckwheat, Rajgira or Moraiyo khichadi with Ghee, fruit salad made from Apple, Banana, Fig, Apricot etc. for the meal, one should consume Roti or Pancakes made from Rajgira or Buckwheat, Sama or Moong khichadi, Dry fruits, Coconut water, vegetable soup etc.
The last three days (day 7-9) are for building the immune system & energy. In these days, one should consume smoothie made from White Pumpkin, Amalaki, Pomegranate, and Banana. Include Dates & Figs along with Rajgira or Buckwheat roti with Coconut curry, or veggie & Kheer made from Sabudana or Sama.
However, avoid heavy and fried food in the entire nine days. On the tenth day, break your fast with light food, leafy vegetable and Curd. Drink enough water that will keep one hydrated the entire nine days.
Along with the fast, think positive, be positive, and perform yoga & meditation along with chanting the Maa Durga's mantra to conquer your negativity.
