we were in a crochet class yesterday and were tought how to crochet a shawl like this. I obviously had to try to make it in milkshake size and on second attempt I got it around the right proportions. It's a bit shorter then it should be but the embroidery thread was only so long.

Milkshake really likes how it looks tied around her neck and on her head. she does look absolutelly adorable I have to agree <3<3<3

Just look at her. She baby. So kissable. So so SOOOO kissable.

Trying to make hood for her was an. Adventure. this is like the 4th try. I was originally referencing an ob11 pattern, but that obviously was too small (so was the body, but that was salvageable with additional panel between the legs). Took a bunch of adjustments to make it work.

Gee the hood is giant. The fact that the fabric is thick isn't helping either. But the hood is loose enought and I think it probably would fit with most of the bonnies (pigtails excluded. idk about the braids, but there's a posibility) but I can't exactly check.

(also, don't mix stretchy and not stretchy fabric in the same sewing project if you don't know what you're doing. Cuz I sure don't know what I'm doing and things are not turning out how I expected that's for sure)

I love milkshake. So so much.

I haven't posted too much about the dolls lately but I ordered a few more Bonnies which happened to arrive on my birthday weekend which was fun. BUT one of them ended up being a duplicate of one I had already (the blue bob) so I decided to play a bit of hair and face roulette with my one Minty Series doll since she happens to have the same neck connection. The only obstacle was her face also has little elf-ish ears that the Bonnie hair doesn't account for, so while the pink pigtails look fine without those ears, the extra blue bob doesn't fully close around the Minty face... which is why that's the one that got hidden under a bit hat lmao. Personally I think the slightly metallic silver hair looks amazing with the flamingo rossi outfit, that might be my favorite result of the shuffle.

A not-so-small update: because I have no self-control, I got carried away with my latest blind box BJD haul again. (my doll army is ever growing, and soon I will overtake the world)

First, I made another attempt at the Puppet Kingdom blinds. I was hoping to get one of the boys, but instead I wound up with Star Wolf and a double of Cat. Whoops. (Next time I should just get the boy dolls pre-opened.)

Next, I've been wanting to get Bonnie the Journey of the Streets for ages. I now own at least four skateboarder dolls, haha. I did have to give the black clothes a makeshift vinegar bath to minimize future staining.

Another series I've been wanting to get was Teennar Campus Idol, since I wanted more mix-and-match street fashion. A keen eye would notice they reuse a lot of pieces from the Student's Club series, which I personally don't mind. I love all the cute details like the leg warmers and metal charms.

Due to all the tiny accessories, the outfits were even fiddlier to put on than usual. Old School Chacha had a headband that kept falling off (strangely the head magnets here were weaker than usual) and a mystery pleather bracelet that came apart. It's kinda funny that even the official Kikagoods unboxing video gave up putting it on.

Lastly we have Nagi Cub Study Tour, which has mechanical joints rather than strung ones. I pretty much fell in love with Pink Cat at first sight and just had to get her, though all the printed-on detail on her outfit was a bit underwhelming. Like Campus Idol, this series also had a nonzero quantity of tiny leather belts.

On an unrelated note, blind box collecting in general has given me a greater appreciation for those little character collectible cards. It's maddening that companies never stick to a standard card size, but they're still fun to flick though. Maybe I should consider getting an album for them or something.

and here’s the second doll i bought: a bonnie sweet heart party box. i wanted taro lily, matcha fufu or brown coco as my top three, but they’re all so cute.

i ended up with berry meimei, who wasn’t in my top 3, but she’s still super cute and i love her strawberry theme. i had a little trouble getting her to stand up, she just kept flopping over so she might need her strings tightened but i’m not confident enough to do that right now. with the trouble of her not being able to stand easily, i don’t know if i’d buy another unless i was buying a pre-opened box for one that i wanted, but she is very cute.

she’s also got swappable eyes and her ears attach with magnetic set inside her head.

and here she is in her outfit! it’s very cute, but it isn’t lined so i might have to worry about staining in the future. luckily i didn’t have to worry about removing her hands since the sleeves are elastic. i love the tiny bunny button on her skirt.

she comes with an id card, a detail fold-out book, a small certificate, and only one other pair of hands (albeit very cute hands with stars on the palms).
