It’s weird how mundanely different everyone’s experience of ‘the sea’ is.
I remember as a young kid reading one of the Famous Five books and the characters talk about ‘swimming out past the waves’ for a more leisurely swim. And I was in absolute awe of this, because the beach I swam at as a kid is basically an inlet between two headlands, it has an incredibly long gradual incline up towards the beach, and the tide drives water directly in. The difference between high and low tides is like quarter of a mile, and it’s waves all the way up. So you could swim past the waves when the tide is all the way out, sure, maybe, but if the tide is in? That’s like quarter to half a mile of a hard swim just to get to your ‘swim’. So I was looking at these kids in this book thinking ‘wow, you guys are hardcore’.
And then we started swimming at a different beach much later on, and it basically has no waves. It’s fully sheltered in the lee of a headland from the main currents/weather for the area, and it’s flat as a pond. Going out past the waves involves wading out five feet. So, ah. Depending on the geography of the beach the Famous Five were on? They might well have been hardcore. Or they might have had 15ft to go to get past the breakers.
I’m thinking about this because I’ve been watching clips of Bondi Rescue on youtube, and Bondi appears to be a surfer beach with big surf and several permanent to semi-permanent rip currents. And there are people going out in it who can’t swim, and they’re paddling around in rip currents in those inflatable pool rings, you know the pool flamingo things? And it baffles me. But then I remember that … well, everyone’s experience of ‘the sea’ is different. Maybe their home beach was flat as a pond because it was sheltered by a headland, and those pool things are perfectly feasible there.
I still would never in a million years go anywhere near the sea in them myself. You can’t swim in those. They pin your arms up. Yeah, you float, but you also get picked up by any motion in the water whatsoever and put wherever it wants you and you have no say in the matter. I’ve been in a rip once, with a boogie board, and you can feel them pulling you. It’s terrifying. I could feel it pulling the board out along its line away from me. Thankfully I could just swim sideways out of it, but for a while there before I knew how wide it was I thought I’d have to let the board go just so it wouldn’t pull me with it. So yeah, I get the desire for a floatation device, but I’d prefer one that a) lets me swim, and b) that I can get out of/let go of if it’s pulling me places.
I’ve been in a lot of seas. I’ve been in rocky inlets with big swells from the water just sloshing around between the rocks. I’ve been picked up and fully thrown up onto a cliff by a wave in one of those. I’ve been in nearly motionless water when you can basically lie on your back and let yourself drift because the water’s not going to carry you far. I’ve been swimming in a storm surge on that childhood beach with 12ft waves charging up quarter of a mile of beach and it was amazing, and relatively safe because you were going to get thrown in, not out. I’ve been caught in a rip in the most mild looking sea you can imagine and been absolutely terrified. I’ve been on a beach with a big long parallel sandbar submerged offshore, where you’re basically swimming in something that very much wants to be a shallow lagoon one day, but if you take one step off the far side of the sandbar you plunge into 30ft deep water.
‘The sea’ is not a thing, really. Every sea is a different sea. Every beach is a different beach. They all have their own rules and habits and peccadillos. Never assume it’ll be the same.
Just. As a general rule, though? I still wouldn’t use a pool ring in moving water.

A Lifeguard's Loyalty (Bondi Rescue)
Third Person POV
Once a member of the notorious Bra Boys, Jesse had finally decided to turn his back on the gang and start a new life. Little did he know that leaving the Bra Boys would come at a high cost.
It was a sunny afternoon at Bondi Beach, with the waves crashing against the shore and the moon turning the sand silver. It was five in the morning, and Jesse was opening. Jesse, now a full-time lifeguard, was about to start his shift at the lifeguard tower. As he approached the tower door, he sensed an eerie presence behind him.
Before he could react, three angry Bra Boys surrounded him, their faces contorted with rage. One was Koby Abberton's brother, Jai. Another was a kid named Andrew, and the other a 23 year old kid named Jordan. Jesse's heart raced as he realized the consequences of his decision. The gang members unleashed their fury upon him, leaving him beaten and bloodied right in front of the lifeguard tower door. They didn't stop until his blood was pooling over the cement, his eyesight fading, and his breath rattling in his chest, and they fled, not looking back and laughing, "That's what blood traitors get!"
As Jesse lay on the ground, struggling to regain his composure, it was Singlets, his fellow lifeguard and friend, who discovered him. Singlets gasped in shock, his worry for Jesse evident in his eyes. Without hesitation, he scooped Jesse up and rushed him to the nearest emergency room. "Shit, shit, shit," He kept repeating, scrambling for the phone as he took a sharp turn, hearing Jesse whine. "Hello?" Hoppo asked. "Emergency, Jesse's out, someone attacked him. I'm taking him to the ER." "What? Shit, I'll gave Reidy and Mouse open, then, and meet you there." Hoppo hung up.
Time Skip...
Singlets' heart pounded with fear as he watched the medical team attend to Jesse's injuries. He couldn't bear to see his young team member in such a state. Thoughts of revenge against the Bra Boys (because really, who else would it be? Everyone loved Jesse) filled his mind, but he knew that Jesse's well-being was the priority.
Hours passed, and the medical team worked tirelessly to mend Jesse's wounds. Singlets never left his side (when allowed to stay, anyway), providing comfort and support throughout the ordeal. As the night wore on, Jesse slowly regained consciousness, his battered body a testament to the price he had paid for leaving the Bra Boys.
The first time he woke up, it was only six=thirty and still dark outside. Hoppo was at his bedside, reading a thick book, and Jesse felt safe enough to drift off. When he woke up again, it was around noon, he guessed, and Harrison and Maxi were sitting in chairs, facing each other with a tiny table between them, playing cards. "Shit." Harrison sighed, making Maxi giggle.
The third and final time Jesse woke up, he saw Mouse in the hall, talking to the doctor, and Jethro and Joel on the small couch, fast asleep. Or, he thought they were, until Joel glanced up, dark eyes shining in the minimal light, and smiled, gently easing from under Jethro's legs and sitting beside Jesse. "Hey, how you feel?" He asked, and Jesse didn't reply, just grabbed his hand, eyes fluttering shut. He heard Joel whisper, "Okay, I'll stay right here."
In that moment, Jesse realized the true value of loyalty and friendship. Singlets' unwavering dedication had saved him from a fate worse than he could have imagined. Maxi and Harrison had come to visit, knowing Jesse didn't really like hospitals. Hoppo cared, Mouse cared. The team cared.
Plus, Joel let Jesse hold his hand. That was an upside for sure.
From that day forward, Jesse vowed to leave his past behind and embrace the new family he had found among the lifeguards of Bondi Beach.

Delululu thought of the day:
When I left high school I wanted to be a history/modern studies teacher (don’t know if it’s called that outside of the UK). I also wanted to move to Australia- specially Sydney (I loved bondi rescue and watched it obsessively) I looked up the best areas to teach in what qualifications and experience I would need, like everything you could think of I had looked into it.
I went to college to do social sciences but I was young and dumb and didn’t study properly so failed my exams and it really deflated me so I stopped.
But like, could you imagine I had done it, like I coulda been teaching next to Grayson Waller for all we know and could have bonded over our mutual love of wrestling. I coulda been living a real life fan fic 🫣🤪
Anyway enjoy this Grayson gif cause it is mighty fine

stupid bondi rescue au for the pacific what r u doing stop typing
as an Aussie I have to ask about it lmao
as is your duty ofc! lmaoo but yeah, bondi rescue is one of my silly little comfort shows and i couldn't help but start daydreaming about our fav boys as lifeguards at bondi. it started off as a bit of a lighthearted joke imagining who would do a jesse/harrison trying to get the rat out of the skate bowl or who'd be terrified being sent to check the shark nets, etc, but then i started writing things down and planning things out and now it's a thing that is happening bc my brain has decided this is what the world needs. the pacific boys have their little connection to australia so in my head, that was the greenlight needed to write a bondi rescue au for them lmao! so now we have head lifeguard ack ack, deputy/senior lifeguard eddie, and all their boys getting up to all kinds of antics on the beach!
this hasn't really given much info about it bc i've written a lot of little scenes that aren't necessarily narratively connected yet, but it's gonna be pretty slice of life and more about dynamics and little things happening anyway, so a bit of fun really (until the bluebottles come out and everyone starts panicking)
for this wip ask game!

Coming up on Bondi Rescue - A Max Ayshford Story
A/N: I've been a tiny bit obsessed with Bondi Rescue recently. Max Ayshford caught my eye, I had to ...
Let me know if you'd be interested in a 2nd chapter. Also available on wattpad.
English ain't my main language, I'm trying to get better at it. Tenses are the worst even in my own language.
"Kyle, your mom said no more flat rocks, so don't get me started." The 15 years old teenager sighed, throwing his bag on the sand. His body was covered with old scars from the rocks at Bondi Beach.
He used to go there with his friends, and his sister used to follow so their mother asked you to "babysit" them. Maybe she thought they would listen to a young adult, and it worked, most of the time.
You followed them to the shore, making sure they were between the red and yellow flags and watched them from there, water hitting your ankles you smiled as the two of them start splashing each other.
Ava, the soon eighteen years old woman giving an absolute hell to her brother.
"Shoot!" Something touched your calve scaring you, thinking immediatly it was a bluebottle, until you heard a sweet babble. A little toddler with a white skeevy on clang onto your leg. Crouching down to her level, she immediatly climbed into your arms.
"Oh, oh ...hey sweetheart, what's wrong?"
She babbled again, not really alarmed or anything, playing with the little pompoms on your now wet dress.
Looking around you ask if she was with someone, none reclaimed the tiny girl so you stood up.
"Kyle, Ava," you waved at them but they weren't looking at you so you whistled, a loud whistle, they recognized immediatly. Seeing you with a kid in your arms, they frowned.
"A new babysit?" Ava strained her hair, walking out the water.
"I think she's lost, you go back to the towels, I'll go to the lifeguards' tower."
You saw Kyle grinned, already planning a trip to the flat rocks.
"You do not move from your towel or god save your ass!" the kid in your arms chuckled at your menacing voice. Kyle dragged his feet to his towel, defeat written all over his face.
"I'm being serious little one, you can't laugh" you talked to the baby while you make your way to the tower.
"No picking on the girls on the beach remember the rule, Max?"
"I know, I know ..."
"Why's so interesting about her, mate?"
He didn't answer his nagging colleagues' questions as he kept looking at the beach. Since an hour or so, he had been watching you, say like that it sounds creepy, alternating his attention between the sea, the swimmers, and you. Something he couldn't explain had pull his attention to you.
Few minutes later Yatesy chuckled beside him.
"Seems like your girl of interest is coming this way."
"Go open the door!" Jake teased him, Max refuses, his leg jumping with the sudden stress as he watch you come up the stairs.
Jake laughed at Max's reaction as he jogged down the stairs.
A smiley guy opened the door, greeting you.
"Hi, this little one is lost. She came to me on the shore. I couldn't find anyone knowing her."
"Oh alright." Jake leaned in, "Hey sweetie, you come with me?" He tried to get the little girl from your arms but she whined and tightened her tiny embrace around you neck.
"I don't mind staying until you find her parents." You chuckled at the kid's shyness, Jake lead you up the stairs, where two lifeguards were watching the beach.
"Yatesy, Max, get the ladies a chair."
Both of them turned around, greeting you, Yatesy more briefly as he turned back his attention to the beach, the one named Max on the other hand, stood up up his chair a bit clumsily sending this latter back against the desk. He looked around then slide another chair between Yatesy and him.
The man was tall and pretty handsome. You were not expecting that when coming up here.
"The little girl is lost, hm..." Jake looked at you for your name, "Y/N," you intervened. "Y/N," he glanced at Max "Brought her up."
"She came to me and doesn't want to let go since." You poke the kid's chubby chick.
Yatesy radio called the other lifeguards, saying that a little girl had been found and was at the tower if someone was looking for her.
"So, Y/N, you're here on holidays." Jake questioned, mostly for Max, as you took a seat between the two lifeguards.
"Nah I live here, it's been a while since I came to Bondi tho. I'm babysitting my neighbor's troublemakers teens."
Max looked at your features as you talked to Jake and Yatesy. You glanced at him as he was silent, the eye contact and the way he shyly looked at you made you slightly blushed.
Another lifeguard with a big smile barged in, his eyes landed on you and the little girl.
"Here comes the kid's favorite, hey Harries"
But the little girl seeing the big man coming all to jovial to her started sobbing.
"Oi, oi a child who doesn't like Harries."
"What's her name?" Harries asked from afar.
Max leaned in the little girl, holding out a red whistle to her as a toy, to try and calm her down. She didn't take it but stared at him.
"What's your name sweetheart?" He said as you brushed her curls away from her face.
She was about three so you assumed she knew her name at least.
Seeing she was hesitant, you pointed at yourself when she looked at you "Y/N," you articulate then pointed to Max, who was inevitably really close, he followed your "plan". "Max," he said pointing at himself, then pointed at her, waiting for her to say her name.
Still a bit wary looking at the smiley dark hair lifeguard, you nodded as she glanced at you.
"Hazel" she shyly mumbled burying her face in your chest, looking back at Max.
This latter smiled brightly sending a jolt into the pit of your stomach. Damn. His clear eyes on you, you melt a bit at his sweet demeanor.
"Looks like Max won the girl's heart!"
Yatesy cooed followed by the boys, he was talking about Hazel but mate, he might have won yours too.
Glancing at the handsome lifeguard, you selfishly hope it will take time to find Hazel's parents.
Little did you know, the green eyed lifeguard hoped the same.

Anniversary - Trent “Maxi” Maxwell x reader
WARNINGS: FLUFF. THAT'S IT. PURE FLUFF.
REQUEST: Hey 👋🏻 How are you? I saw that you’re writing for Bondi Rescue and thought I request something 🙈 Could you maybe write something for Maxi ? Something fluffy and cute. Maybe it’s also Valentine’s Day
A/N: I’m dumb and missed Valentine's day so I made it an anniversary imagine, I hope that's okay!
-
You glanced down at your phone as it vibrated against the wooden nightstand beside your bed. The screen lit up as two notifications appeared. Picking up your phone, you saw that Maxi had texted you twice.
"Just got off work, coming to get you, be there in 10" 7:03 p.m.
"Find something nice-ish to wear, I've got a surprise :)" 7:04 p.m.
You smiled down at the message, typing out a quick "okay." You padded across the hardwood floor of your apartment and over to the small closet, sifting through different outfits. You pulled out a white sundress with sunflowers decorating it, holding it up to examine it. Perfect.
You laid the dress down on your bed and pulled out a pair of white strappy sandals to go with it. You got changed from your sweats into the dress and shoes, checking in the mirror as you smoothed the dress out. You ran your fingers through your hair to style it, spraying in some dry shampoo as well. Your phone buzzed again, another text from Maxi popped up onto the screen.
"I'm outside with the car when you're ready" 7:15 p.m.
You quickly grabbed your keys and a small brown across-the-shoulder bag, stuffing your phone into one of the pockets and zipping it up. You hastily made exited your apartment, locking the door behind you and headed down the two flights of stairs.
You spotter Maxi standing in front of his car waiting for you. He wore khaki shorts and a white button-up shirt, meaning he'd probably changed just after work in the Lifeguard tower. His smile grew as you approached him, and you could feel your cheeks heating up as he looked at you.
"You look beautiful," he said once you finally reached him. You blushed even harder at his compliment, even after three years with him he still gave you butterflies.
"Thank you," you beamed, "You look very handsome as well." It was Maxi's turn to blush now.
"So what is this surprise you've gotten us all dressed up for?" You asked, your curiosity getting the better of you.
Maxi smirked, "You'll find out when we get there." He smoothly stepped to the side and opened the passenger door, gesturing for you to get in. You playfully raised your eyebrows, "Such a gentleman," you teased, stepping into his car. Maxi let out a soft chuckled before shutting your door and running around to the driver's side.
The drive didn't take long at all, and neither did you figuring out where you were headed. You knew the route from your apartment to Bondi like the back of your hand. You turned to Maxi with your eyebrows furrowed as he pulled into the closest parking spot. A thousand possibilities ran through your mind as to what Maxi could possibly have planned.
Maxi shut the car off and quickly exited, running around to your side and opening the door for you. He extended his hand out for you to take, the biggest grin spreading across his face.
"What in the world do you have planned Trent Maxwell?" You playfully narrowed your eyes at him, placing your hand in his. Once you were out, Maxi shit the door behind you.
"Just trust me," he said as he began leading you across the car park and to the beach. It was after hours, so there weren't many people on the beach. Only a few surfers and a couple of people who roamed the shore remained.
You decided to take off your shoes once you got to the sand, holding them in your free hand. Maxi ended up doing the same.
The two of you passed by the Lifeguard tower, running into none other than Jesse and Harrison. The two boys walked up to Maxi and you with grins that matched Maxi's own on their faces.
Your brows knitted together, confused as to why they would be at Bondi so late. Weren't the lifeguards all supposed to get off at 7:00 p.m.?
"Funny seeing you two here," Harrison quipped. The lack of subtly on his voice gave away that he, and Jesse, were probably in on the surprise. "Long day?" You interrogated, attempting to see what you could get out of the two boys.
Jesse shrugged, "You could say that. Had something we had to take care of, but it's all good now." You just barely caught the quick wink he sent Maxi, who in returned mouthed out a thank you.
"Well, it was nice seeing you two, we're just gonna head home for the night. . . you two uh, you two have fun," Harrison stuttered out, before running away with Jesse. The two boys whispering and chuckling to each other.
You turned back to Maxi, "Well that wasn't at all suspicious," you deadpanned. Maxi only laughed, tugging you once more, "Just come on."
You let him lead you around to the other side of the tower, and not too much further down the beach something strange started coming into view. Flickering lights surrounded what looked like a blanket with things splayed out on it. You looked back and forth between Maxi and the setup, yet he ignored your confused glances. As you got closer, you began to take note of the details of the setup.
The flickering lights turned out to be candles buried in the sand, and they were set in the shape of a heart. The blanket in the middle had an array of your favorite fruits, chocolates, and other snacks. The set up faced the ocean, providing a beautiful view of the sun slowly lowering towards the horizon, painting the sky in beautiful pinks and purples.
"Maxi, what is all this?" You questioned, a smile working it's way onto your face as you stopped just in front of the candles.
"Happy anniversary," Maxi said softly. It seemed as though his mischievous grin had been replaced by a nervous blush.
Your heart immediately skipped a beat as you let out a sharp breath. "You did this for me?" You asked in disbelief.
"Well, I had the boys set it up while I went to get you, but uh. . . yeah, yeah this is for you."
So that's why Jesse and Harrison were acting so weird.
"Um, do-do you like it?" It was adorable how nervous he was, you could tell just how much getting this right meant to him. You reached a hand up and placed it gently on his cheek. Standing on the tips of your toes, you softly pecked his lips. "It's perfect."
Maxi let out a sigh of relief, his whole body relaxing. "Seriously, Maxi, it's beautiful, thank you," you reassured. A soft and genuine smile tugged at the corners of Maxi's lips. "Well then," he gestured to the blanket, "be my guest." You giggled as you stepped inside the ring of candles, taking a seat on the soft blanket. Maxon followed suit, sitting down next to you.
The two of you spent the next thirty minutes chatting, eating, and enjoying the beautiful colors of the sky as the sun dipped lower in the sky. At some point, a comfortable silence fell over the two of you as you peered out at the soft waves lapping on the shore. Most of the candles had burned out, leaving the golden sun that sat on the horizon as the only source of light. An idea popped into your head.
You carefully stood up, brushing the sand that stuck to your legs off. Maxi looked up at you in confusion, "Come on," you offered him a hand, "I want to put my feet in the water before it gets too dark."
Maxi took your hand as he pulled himself to a standing position. You didn't give him much time to get situated before you took off towards the water, yanking Maxi along with you. You didn't stop running until you were about calf-deep in the water.
The water was slightly chilled, but it felt nice and refreshing, a cool breeze sent goosebumps up across your skin. You gently skimmed your feet across the sand, feeling the water move against your skin soothingly. You stood peacefully for a moment, enjoying the view, until a shock of cold shot through your body as water splashed against your back.
Your whole body tensed up at the sudden contact of the chilled water. You slowly turned around to see Maxi attempting to stifle a laugh. Your eyes narrowed a bit, "Oh you're dead Trent Maxwell." Maxi's face shifted from an expression of joy to one of fear.
You wanted no time crouching down, cupping your hands, and catapulting a large amount of water in Maxi's direction. He turned a bit to shield the front of his body from the inevitable cold. But you were relentless, deciding to take another shot at him while his back was turned. After your second go at him, Maxi whipped around and used his foot to kick up water, soaking the front of your dress.
Laughter filled the air as the two of you childishly splashed one another until both of you were completely soaked.
"Okay! Okay! You win!" Maxi laughed out, holding his hands up in surrender. You crossed your arms over your chest victoriously. It was then that a cold breeze caused you to grip your arms tighter around yourself. Now that you weren't messing around you were finally able to feel just how cold you really were. The sun had long since disappeared from the sky, taking its warmth with it.
You watched as Maxi ran out of the water and up the beach, moving things off of the blanket and shaking the sand from it. He hurried back to you as you stepped completely out of the water, your arms still wrapped tightly around yourself. Maxi let out a breathy laugh at your shivering form. He wrapped the blanket around his shoulders, holding the two ends in both his hands. He then proceeded to wrap his arms around you, enveloping you both in the large blanket. You uncrossed your arms and wrapped them around Maxi's torso. His body heat provided instant relief as you melted into him, the blanket providing protection from any wind.
"This is your fault," you mumbled accusingly into his chest, referring to the giant splashing war the two of you just had. Maxi's chest shook as he chuckled, "I know, I'm sorry." Maxi pressed a light kiss to the top of your head.
You lifted your head from his chest and smiled up at him, "Apology accepted."
Maxi leaned down and captured your lips with his in a sweet and loving kiss, pulling you in closer to him. “I love you so much,” he mumbled against your lips, causing a wide smile to spread across your face. “I love you too,” you whispered back.

Bondi Rescue #1
Imagine...
The grey clouds rolled in over the dark teal waters of Bondi, the usual sun shying away from the few members of the public who decided to brave a day at the renowned golden shores. Sighing in content Y/N adjusted her shades to cover her bright y/e/c orbs even though it was early Y/N couldn’t help but feel like she was in paradise. Picking up the worn binoculars the y/h girl skimmed the waters that was overrun with salty sea spray whipping wildly at the dark coastline looking out for anyone in distress.
The opening of a door broke her concentration, swivelling around to face her fellow teammates or the boys in blue as the public knew them Y/N couldn’t resist the chuckle that slipped past her delicate ruby lips. Maxi and Jesse entered looking absolutely ridiculous bundled up like Eskimos while shivering like leaves. Raising an eyebrow in silent questioning the British girl looked the two boys over. "Good morning Scott" the y/h/c female laughed before turning back to face the waters. "What?" Jesse finally managed to shutter out his normally energetic voice muffled by the many layers he was wearing. Sighing again Y/N whipped around to face the pair "You know Scott... Scott of the Antarctic. Famous legendary explorer." The girl trailed of taking a bite of her lukewarm butty. Max shook his head violently he never understood why the girl had so much semi useless information buzzing around her brain. It was only semi useless as the girls mind bank of odd information had often served them well on a quiz night at the local pub. Reidy and Harries who had both stayed quiet during the exchange finally looked up from their weekend catch up to grin at the feisty girl. "How are you not cold" Harries question the girl jokingly as the older man was also wearing one of the blue hoodies that came as part of the uniform. Shrugging thoughtfully Y/N took another bite of her breakfast "I don't know British weather probably it kinda prepares you." She stated simply.
Getting up Y/N tucked her chair in before pushing her Oakley's up to perch on her y/h/c locks "Well ladies I'm gonna get into the rhino, someone needs to be down there." Yanking the door open Y/N pulled a face to the group before continuing "Honestly you're all such babies it's not even cold." Before walking off to patrol the beach leaving the assembled group of Aussies in her wake.

It Hurts Me When You Hurt You (Bondi Rescue)
(Trent "Maxi" Maxwell X Harrison "Lionel Hutz" Reid)
Prompt: "Harrison has been acting a little bit strange up to the point of worrying Maxi. Hours later, Maxi decides to ask them in private, getting into their room, but then Maxi shocks with the following scene: Harrison was holding a blade and both their arms and legs have a lot of fresh wounds bleeding. Maxi steals the blade from Harrison's hands as soon as they can and goes for some items to heal the wounds. Once they had finished, Maxi asks them what happened. Harrison can't resist staying quiet and, whimpering a lot, explains how they feel the necessity to punish themselves for everything going on. In the middle of the cry, Maxi hugs their partner tightly."
**************************************************************
Third Person POV
Maxi had been observing a shift in Harrison's demeanor, a peculiar change that was toeing the line of concern. As each minute ticked by, the worry gnawing at Maxi only seemed to intensify. Finally, unable to bear the heavy silence, Maxi made the decision to confront Harrison, seeking out the solace of their shared room.
Upon entering, the sight that met Maxi's eyes was heart-wrenching. Harrison was there, a blade clutched tightly in his hand, his arms and legs marred with fresh, bleeding wounds. A gasp escaped Maxi's lips as they rushed forward, swiftly snatching the blade from Harrison's grip. Their heart pounded against their chest, a desperate rhythm that echoed their frantic dash to gather supplies to tend to Harrison's injuries.
Once the wounds were cleaned and bandaged, neither speaking, no noise but for Harrison's soft sniffles, Maxi took a deep breath, steeling themselves for the conversation to come. They gently asked Harrison, their voice barely above a whisper, what had led to this.
Harrison, his eyes filled with sorrow, couldn't maintain his silence. With a shaky voice and tears glistening on his cheeks, he confessed his feelings of self-blame, the compulsion he felt to punish himself for the chaos around them. His words hung heavy in the air, a painful testament to his inner turmoil. Being bisexual, his parents not accepting him, feeling like everyone was judging him.
In that moment, Maxi felt a surge of emotion. Anguish at the sight of their beloved hurting himself, but also a deep, unyielding love for Harrison. Ignoring the tears threatening to spill from their own eyes, Maxi pulled Harrison into a fierce hug. Their arms wrapped around him, their heart aching with every whimper that escaped Harrison's lips.
"Know this," Maxi whispered into Harrison's ear, their voice trembling with the intensity of their feelings. "You are not alone. You are loved, more than you can possibly imagine. And nothing, absolutely nothing, can change that. It never will, you hear me?"
The room fell silent, save for the quiet sobs echoing off the walls. Amidst the palpable angst, there was also a sense of comfort, a promise of unwavering support. No matter how dark the night, they would face it together, bound by a love that refused to falter.

Sunrise Surfing
HARRISON REID X READER
A/N: This was requested by @diana-interiano. Hope you enjoy it and thankyou for reading my Wattpad story! - Not gonna lie this is kinda inspired by the oxygen music video from Teen Beach Movie.
I locked my apartment door as I looked down at my phone, seeing a text from my best friend Harrison saying he had just left. I smiled and tucked my board under my arm and walked down the stairs to the ground floor. Harrison and I had been best friends since we were 10 and joined the local surf club together. He was now a lifeguard at the beach and I had become a surfing instructor for little kids and families. I love my job and I get to do my favourite thing all day so I couldn't be happier. As I walked out onto the street, I smiled at the darkness around me, not a single person in sight. Harrison and I had agreed last night that we wanted to surf really early in the morning and watch the sun rise. The sky was still dark and the street lights were glowing dimly, creating a cool atmosphere. I walked along the road to the main street where a few cars drove along. I carefully crossed the road to the parade and pulled my phone out my bag to text Harrison where I was. He replied a few seconds later, saying he was waiting by the tower. I grinned and tucked my phone back in the pocket. I walked a little further, seeing the tower and stairs down to the beach. I skipped down them, searching for Harrison's silhouette. I frowned when I reached the bottom of the tower and no one was there. I stuck my board in the sand and skirted the tower. Where was he? I was looking behind the stairs when I felt a pair of hands cover my eyes. I jumped but grinned and turned around to see Harrison's freckled face beaming. He chuckled and pulled me into a hug. I tightly hugged him back but playfully slapped him when i drew back. "Don't scare me like that Harrison, I almost had a heart attack." He just laughed and ran his hand through his gorgeously waved hair. "Come on grab your board and lets get out on the water." I nodded and put my bag in a discreet place by the bottom of the tower. We walked round to where I had stuck my board in the sand and Harrison grabbed his, securing his cord around his ankle. We started walking to the water, the sun only starting to streak the sky with tinges of orange and pink. I looked to Harrison to see his brunette hair golden with the glow of the bronze light. His face chiselled with the shadows cast from the clouds and his freckles adorning his face like constellations mapping the sky. I blushed when I realised I was looking at my best friend a bit too much. Harrison turned to me and grinned when he saw me looking at him, winking as a he started running to the water. My face heated up even more and I shook my head before running after him. Harrison paddled out to the oncoming waves, lifting up to roll over them. I layed down on my board and followed him, admiring the swirling reflection of the hazy pink sky. We caught a few waves and I watched as Harrison stood on his board as he rode out a small wave. He faced me and beamed, placing his hands over his heart and falling backwards off his board. I laughed, my stomach fluttering. After a while, we decided to put our boards back on the sand and swim instead. I stuck my blue and white board in a small pile of sand before running towards the white waves again. I swum out to Harrison who was treading water, waiting for me. We swum around, watching as the sun slowly rose and laughing as we dived under waves. I was standing watching the clouds lighten as the sun peeked over the horizon, casting vibrant oranges and reds across the sky when I felt a woosh of water crash into my face. I turned to my side to see Harrison cheekily grinning at me as I spluttered. "Oops sorry Y/N." He smirked, the water swirling around his tanned body. "OH IT IS SO ON!" I yelled, trying to run through the water to him. I frantically shoved the water in front of me, causing cascades of the white froth to topple over his head. I laughed as Harrison emerged from the water, his expression shocked. "Oy come here missy!" He yelled, scooting through the water to get me. I tried to swim away but I felt his hand wrap around my ankle and drag me back, pulling me through the water to him. He scooped me up and threw me over his shoulder, wading as I pummeled his back. "Let me gooo!" I laughed, my head dangerously low to the water. "If you say so." Harrison responded before launching me into the water, taking me by surprise. I pulled myself to the top again and broke the surface, wiping the water off my face. "HARRISON!" I yelled and he cheekily grinned, wading towards me. I stood shocked, my mouth open in astonishment. I waited until he was a little closer and then splashed water right at his face, making him gasp. I laughed and watched him splutter with shock. "You deserve it you idiot." I said, making Harrison chuckle. He continued advancing towards me and i grinned, ready to attack again. He reached his arms out towards me and I got ready to push more water in his face but he managed to grab one of my wrists and stopped me from splashing. "Hey let me go!" I yelled in between laughs, trying to pull my hand out of his. Harrison kept a tight grip though and pulled me closer. I tried to pull away, moving back along the sand but he grinned, managing to tug me even closer. I flailed my free hand in front of him, trying to splash him but he grabbed it with his other hand, giving me no way to free myself. I tried to tug myslef out of his grip but he pulled my hands towards his chest, brining me to him. I giggled through breaths, trying to free myself. Harrison pulled me even closer to him, so I was standing in front of him. He still had a firm grip on my hands and I grinned, still struggling to get myself free. "S-stop, let me go!" I stumbled out, breathless from laughing so hard. "Nope." Harrison beamed, his hazel eyes looking straight at mine. I let out a giggle but stopped when I realised the intensity with which he was looking at me. My smile fell as I felt him let go of my wrists and place his hands on my waist. He brought me closer, making my breath hitch as we were only inches away. My eyes flicked to his lips and back to his face. I had one hand placed on his chest and the other on his bicep from where i had been pushing him away and my heart skipped a beat as I felt his body next to mine. Harrison was still looking at me, his eyes searching mine for some sort of answer. I looked to his lips again and I could feel my heart hammering, begging to touch him. I looked into his eyes and saw the flecks of gold that dotted his irises. "Kiss me." I breathed out, feeling Harrison's breath fan over my face. I shut my eyes as he leaned in, pressing his lips to mine. I snaked my hand to the back of his neck and brought my hand to his hair, deepening the kiss. He had one hand cupping my cheek as he kissed me and it felt like time had stopped. I couldn't feel the lapping water against me, only Harrison's hands and lips. I felt him pull back as we caught our breaths, scanning each others faces. "You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that." Harrison said, his lips slightly swollen. I smiled and brought his head back to mine, "same."
