Softer Shippy Prompts || Accepting!
Late nights in the lab were of little consequence to Rebecca; it was just a fact of life to her, it came with the job. As normal as breathing. But this late night in particular had come with something less expected; a visitor! Claire's arrival wasn't exactly one she anticipated, and did interrupt some experimentation with a modified strain of the G-Virus that had cropped up recently in India, but it brought back an idea she'd had before her abduction at the hands of Glenn Arias: to ship off some extra antiviral samples & medical supplies she had just lying around, collecting dust. At least TerraSave would make use of them! Her stores were full to capacity, and even if they weren't, she could synthesize more later.
She'd (albeit briefly) spent some time at TerraSave in their early days, mostly minor volunteer work, despite also juggling university and a part-time job at the time. Rebecca had always been a trooper. On top of that, knowing that Claire was now running the show made her even more inclined to help if she was able. Shipping off these materials was something she wasn't going to tell the BSAA's Director. Not that the Director needed to know; thanks in large part to Chris, her lab was now more hers than the BSAA's. Better security, more amenities, and she always had music playing. Chris had deemed it a good idea after Arias, and Rebecca could hardly disagree.
Rebecca hadn't truly considered it might be rude to just keep working while she had what was arguably a good friend & fellow Raccoon City survivor paying her a visit, but that was pretty normal for her. Her work was never done. After quick greetings, Rebecca had already resumed typing away at her computer, and every few minutes, moving between her computer and a device in the far corner of the room dedicated to analyzing virus samples & breaking them down to create an antigen. On a second monitor she had pulled up a folder full of antivirus data; multitasking! Occasionally, while typing, she'd stop to adjust the position of one of the many plushies on her desk. Custom-made plushies of the whole STARS unit, Wesker included, sat mostly undisturbed and well cared for.
She was compiling information involving the latest viruses used in bioterror attacks, gathering antiviral samples, and at the same time, trying to synthesize an antigen for the new G strain; quite soon, she'd deliver them to TerraSave. Rebecca was sure they had their own stocks, but since when does having a little extra hurt? It was all standard procedure, apart from the presence of a Redfield in the lab. Claire's presence reminded her of Chris in their STARS days. The way he'd hover like a large, goofy bodyguard, cracking jokes but intimidating all the same. Claire struck her as quite similar, and she couldn't deny -- it was comforting. If anyone like Arias had the audacity to attack her while Claire was present, she was sure it'd be over before it truly began. Claire just had that energy about her; she wasn't one to be trifled with. The same energy Chris had.
And yet somehow, despite finding them intimidating, it also made both of them cute to Rebecca. Her tastes are an enigma.
A sudden weight against her shoulder bids Rebecca pause all activity, glancing to her left side to see Claire leaning on her. Rebecca allows a small, warm smile to spread over her face. "You look tired. I'd suggest getting some rest in the back room, but since I know you won't...want to grab some coffee? I know a good place."

Spirit Index
As we know, spirits have been here for a while now, interfering with the mundane life of man and bringing both blessings and curses. Unfortunately, there arenât many books in this world which give a more precise system of knowledge which can be use to the advantage of man related to spirits and the spirit world, so I decided to take my time and make a post about it. A post in which Iâm willing to explain each category of spirits one may encounter in this lifetime, especially as a medium or a psychic. Iâm asking you to read this with an open mind and not be quick to judge in case something may not âclickâ. Furthermore, I am going to list the spirits from highest(best) to lowest(worst). I am going to write this with the help of Archangel Michael too, since he is the one who guided and protected me on my journey so far.
THE DIVINE or GOD is the strongest and most respected spirit one may encounter. Even though he isnât showing himself directly, he takes the appearance of everything around man and mankind. It is nature, flesh and spirit and brings both the good and the bad in man, with the soft difference of pushing/showing man the âgoodâ/âholyâ path to heaven and enlightment. He is the creator of the world and man and the master of the higher ranking spirits and ghosts. He is also the protector of the world and sends messengers, prophets, spiritual guides and saviors on Earth to balance the evil the lower ranked bring upon Earth and mankind. The Divine âplansâ oneâs life and gives him as much as he knows he can carry as a lesson in order to bring him to a high ranking vibration. Even though he may not respond directly to requests one makess through prayers, he sends ANGELS and ARCHANGELS, which respond much faster through the will of God, to manâs prayers.
THE PROTECTOR or SPIRIT GUIDE is the spirit everybody possesses, sometimes one can possess multiple spirit guides or protectors, depending on their own will, which can be changed by different factors, including faith, actions and beliefs they associate with good or bad. The Protector may take different forms and usually lays within oneâs energetic field and auric map. The Protector is acting as some sort of antivirus to manâs energetic field and carefully cuts ties or connections with other men when their âhostâ no longer needs their presence or when the men âattackâ the host. Protectors usually stay near their host and a medium may see the Protector walking, floating or flying around their host, looking at the host or looking at lower energies which may plan to enter their hostsâ energetic field. Protectors are some sort of spiritual bodyguards and they are usually pretty defensive with unknown or foreign energy. A Protector can also be a spirit with which the host desired to work with, or which was summoned through unorthodox ways, but most of the times, those âProtectorsâ only use the energy their host emanates and feeds off the hostâs energy. I personally advice to not work with dark entities, since they are of low vibration in first place and donât have a certain âbondâ one may develop with a high vibrational entity. I did work in the past with low vibrational entities, such as Lilith, and the consequences werenât worth it, since no matter what I did, the entity would be indifferent to my requests for protection and calls for help. In that period, I became extremely depressive and dark and was basically willing to give my life for the powers she possessed, she said she will give to her children. Some people prefer the darker entities, but I personally donât and I usually am a bit concerned when I spot a dark entity around someone, because it usually signifies that the host is going through a very dark period of their life as well and refuses to receive help. I have an acquaintance who works with some really strong dark entities and found herself in a toxic relationship with a guy who always has a 2m tall grey demon around him, which gives the guy suicidal thoughts, aggressive and impulsive reactions, dark and depressive periods of time and so on. Because she refuses to leave this guy, because she says she loves the energy which surrounds him, sheâs constantly sad and she currently has 2 red demons aside her. Iâm not sure what their names are, but I know for sure that theyâve been sent by one of her masters, if not both, to not let any high energy get into her energetic field to help her. She kept on asking me to help her somehow, but the spirits reacted hostile to my advice of changing her âbossesâ. The 2 demons would stare at me and look me dead in the eyes and pull her in. When I told her to try and work with lighter energies she said âIâm already damned, there is no salvation for me nowâ, but no matter how much I tried to convince her that she can be helped, she denied and refused, preferring to stay âcomfortableâ in her own mud. If you are psychic, you might notice how your Guide tends to speak to you out loud, or give you signals, if you arenât clairaudient. If you are clairaudient, you might find yourself hearing unrequested advice with your psychic ear. For example, I fell for a guy and my guide, Michael, told me âYou will not have a future with this man, I do not recommend you to pursue him, no matter what. He may seem heaven sent, but he is going to get âcorruptedâ by his friends soon and you will suffer. Focus on yourselfâ. Of courseeee I ignored his advice and did it anyway, because love is blind and, I shit you not, he was soooo right. Me from 8 months ago wouldnât believe what just happened. Moving on. There is a difference between Spirit Guides and Spirits which only feed off oneâs energy for their own well being. A Protector would never use their hostâs energy in their own benefit. To make it easier, imagine The Protector being a VOLUNTEER, an unpaid person who genuinely wants to help you without asking for anything in return. Dead relatives or friends can take on this role, but in order to âfunctionâ properly, they may need a little bit of energy from the host, which is usually given freely through love, in order to achieve a concrete role. The exchange of energy isnât felt, because both parties already have a connection based on love, but a medium can deduce that exchange of energy and lessen the âenergetical billâ, by being the âcableâ of communication between the dead and the living. Protectors may vary in size and power, but most of them are either a little bit taller than the host, much taller than the host, or a bit shorter than the host. If you want to get a bigger idea of how Protectors work, then you can watch âCity of Angelsâ.
THE NEUTRALS are spirits which just passed to the other side, but like to linger around the world and observe different stuff, whatever catches their attention or eye. They arenât hostile or good, they just... are. Depending on their âageâ(how much time passed since they died), they can take different forms or sizes, but they are usually seen âfloatingâ or âwalkingâ among the living. You see them in hospitals, in cemeteries, with different people or living relatives. I did notice that they like to stare at animals and see how they react. Neutrals can be anything which was once alive, including humans, pets, insects, even trees. Most spirits Iâve talked to were Neutrals. Most Neutrals are friendly and open, but I donât recommend you to ask them to manifest physically, because they can take quite some of the high level energy, including yours and easily tire you out or make you sick. I recommend you to not contact the spirit if there havenât passed at least 7 years since the decease. Best to ignore them.
THE PRANKSTERS are usually small spirts which feed themselves off their hostâs energy by scaring them. Most Pranksters Iâve met were really short, looked like trolls or swamp monsters or even midgets. They are mostly active during the night and they give the host the feeling as if someone would be watching them. They linger in dark corners or under the bed or inside the closet and usually children mention them. They cannot physically hurt the host, but can cause insomnia and paranoia. If you feel a Prankster in your room, then pray and light up a candle and tell them to leave the space, but if they donât leave, donât be shy, call the power of God/Light and let them see what youâre capable of. I personally hate them, because not only they are annoying, they are also rude and they donât let me sleep. They would knock from inside my closet and stare at me from under the desk which leaded to a few sleepless nights until I got a glimpse of what I should do in order to make them leave. Remember, every low vibrational spirit fears that they will be erased from the world, so make sure you stay with the high vibrations to scare them away. The Pranksters usually appear when the host is already âvirusedâ with a low vibrational entity, so if you see one, do a cleansing and find out which mf just sticked himself to your energy. Some Pranksters will pretend to be other entities in order to fool you, so donât be so trusting of spirits you encounter if you canât see at least a bit of the spiritâs appearance.
THE DEMONS are evil spirits which act as some sort of parasite to the host and bring illnesses, suffering and pain. They act as some sort of Guardians of Pain and eat the hostâs energy to desperation and even death. Most people who have Demons surrounding them work with low vibrational entities or they keep on circling through depression or are mentally ill and need professional help. It is advised to never connect to a host which carries a Demon because it can stick to your energy too and affect you. Stay as far as possible from them and donât even think of helping them ALONE, especially if they donât want help. Let them be with their Demon, but if you really want to help someone who has a Demon, then make sure you work with at least other 2 individuals who are skilled in âEXORCISMâ, such as priests or bishops or any âholyâ person. The easiest way of recognizing if someone has been virused with a Demon is to look at their aura. If their aura has black or grey tones, then you got your answer. A Demon can drive someone to do extreme things, such as murder, so thatâs another reason to stay away from such individuals. The Demons can turn an innocent soul into a manipulator, a liar, an evil individual etc.

This ones a long one but here we go- For âit can thinkâ Artemis adopts a giant, black mainecoon with piercing blue eyes (which are pretty rare/non existent but isnât super important unless you use it for a description) the cat is quite smart, smarter than Artemis had anticipated and causes absolute mayhem.
I promise, I have a plan, haha!
What's a Trope Bingo?
What's the Evil Association of Evil Villains?
[Part 1] [Part 2] [Part 3] [Part 4] [Part 5][Part 6] [Part 7] [Part 8]
Part 2. Cat.
Artemis looked up. "We've been robbed."
Before he could elaborate, the door to the lair opened and Opal rushed in, a leash in her hand.
"Arty, Arty! Happy belated birthday!" she chirped, dragging a huge black cat behind her. It towered over the petite pixie woman, swishing its tail slowly from side to side while its diamond studded choker twinkled with every move.
Artemis eyed the animal suspiciously, unable to shake the feeling that the animal only followed out of mild interest, ready to pounce Opal as soon as its curiosity ran dry.
"My birthday is in September, Opal. It's April," he noted.
"So, an early birthday present. Look at this beauty!"
She pulled at the leash, unperturbed by the low growl of the animal.
"Yes, it's a beautiful Maine Coon. I don't see-"
"I stole her," Opal announced, puffing her chest. "Her name is 'Diamond'. You see her eyes? Reminded me of you."
Butler lifted an eyebrow. "So, you had to steal it?"
Opal gave Butler the evil eye. "Yes, we are bad guys. That's what we do. Do you have a problem with that?"
Butler ground his teeth and crossed his arms over his chest. He had to keep a low profile, he knew, and Arno's warning look reminded him of the danger he and his fellow henchman were in.
The bodyguard turned away, watching the cat as it explored its new surroundings. Silently, it jumped on every surface, padding across the floor, before wandering off to the wall of surveillance computers. Butler and Arno Blunt had set it up with the greatest possible precision while the other villains had celebrated the new lair. Surveillance was important. So were certain... flaws, in case any of the henchmen had to thwart the villainous plans. The bodyguards had set up the entire system, and to explain any shortcomings later, argued loudly about the best antivirus software. It had almost ended in a fistfight that they had choreographed in advance to avoid any injuries.
Artemis lifted the card in his hand.
"Speaking of bad guys. It looks like someone is targeting our lair."
The black Maine Coon lifted its head. It stopped its ferocious attack on the keyboard, jumped down from the console and came back to Artemis, snuggling up to his legs, and meowing for attention. Crouching down, the boy patted its head. Maybe, he thought, a pet would be quite nice. He could scratch it behind its ears and give evil speeches to his enemies before pushing an important red button.
Diamond stared up at him, something twinkling in those ice-blue eyes. Without warning, it scratched Artemis's hand and snatched the card with its sharp teeth. Holding his hand in horror, Artemis glared at the cat, which had scurried into a corner, ripping gleefully at the white paper.
"It scratched me," he said in an accusing tone. Then he turned to Opal, who had paled.
"That's... I mean... Bad cat!"
Jon moved his bracelets up and down his arm, deep lines on his forehead. "Now we'll never know what the card said or who is threatening us."
Artemis smiled, while Butler tended to his pianist hands.
"I wouldn't say that."
To be continued.

Dying @ the Borderlands AU post to be honest. (At work. 8') ) GIVE US THE BORDERLANDS ACE ATTORNEY CONTENT WE DESERVE. (Did you ever actually post that fic with the train push-off though??) ... I should look into playing that game. (Those games? Heck if I know. I like the artstyle though.)
I posted the first chapter of the fic, though at some point as I massaged out details, I did start trying to rewrite that chapter. So plot-location-wise, thatâs a bit of a mess, but the general vibe of it is the same.
I think I had some other completed excerpts I never posted, and so if I get to writing up a huge big summary of the thing, which I want to do now, I can intersperse it with a few written bits. There was a thing with Ema, and then later with Kay.
(Those games, yeah, thereâs three shooters and then oneâŚ.idk how to describe Tales from, I own it and havenât played it. But yeah, thereâs Borderlands, Borderlands 2, and Borderlands the Pre-Sequel for the shoot-em-up main entries of the series that Iâve played. I love all of them, but I love the Pre-Sequel a little less because low-grav combat made me want to die.)
To summarize the AU, or the start of it, for everyone who doesnât remember/wasnât here, the main cast, and what their class names would tentatively be in-game, include:
APOLLO, the Sharpshooter, a sniper with an eyepatch who never misses a shot
(The eye patch is significant, Iâll come back to Apolloâs powers in another post.) He lived on Elpis for most of his life â Elpis is the moon of Pandora, which is the planet that most of the games take place on â and until the start of the story, works for the corporation Hyperion with his best friend Clay, an engineer. Theyâve both come to be pretty important in Hyperionâs ranks, pretty quick â Apollo for his sniping skills is the personal bodyguard/assistant to Hyperionâs CEO, Kristoph, while Clay is one of the top engineers and most valuable people except for periodically when theyâre forced to pay out the ass to run some antivirus/debug software on his brain, because Clay has a USB port in his head and sometimes he tries to download every cat video ever and gets a virus. Kristoph puts up with this, barely. (It is not the worst financial crime being committed in Hyperionâs ranks. Klavier is embezzling millions into pointless endeavors and Kristoph canât lock him out of the system no matter what he tries. But that is, again, something to come back to later.)
Apollo and Clay start to suspect that there is a lot amiss about Hyperion and the kinds of experiments they do and what they want from Pandora, and together they start investigating into what, exactly, Kristoph is doing. In the midst of this, Clay is (apparently) killed, and Apollo not allowed to investigate anything about his death. This is the final straw, so Apollo takes what he knows, destroys what he can on the way out, and flees the Hyperion moonbase and Elpis, stowing away on a freighter shipment down to Pandora, intending to disappear into the wilds of Pandora.Â
CLAY, however, isnât dead â just in a coma, with his brain wired into Hyperionâs mainframe. He hacks the ECHOnet to get into Apolloâs communicator and serves as a âvoice from aboveâ font of âadviceâ and âwisdomâ. (Heâs taking the role of, to quickly spoiler-free summarize from the games, the Guardian AI called Angel, who throughout Borderlands and 2 offers advice and points you in the direction you need to go on your quest. Clay is an infinitely shittier at his job version.) Because of some limitations hacked into his brain, he canât tell Apollo that heâs Clay, that heâs alive, and that heâs sort of being forced into trying to manipulate Apollo and friends into doing Hyperionâs bidding, but he can be very inefficient at it and sabotage from within as best he can. Also, sometimes he accidentally sabotages, like when heâs like âIâve made the calculations and your vehicle can definitely make this jumpâ and they try it and crash because he was using the gravitational constant of Elpis, which has much less gravity than Pandora.Â
On landing on Pandora, Apollo is waiting for one of the Hyperion trains that still runs to take him west and get as far away from this landing site as he can. There, he meets three other travelers and apparent fugitives:
ATHENA, the Berserker, who takes on robots with her fists and a sword and maybe sometimes sheâll use a shotgun;
KLAVIER, the Doppelganger, the spitting image of Hyperionâs CEO;
and TRUCY, the Siren, one of six women throughout the galaxy marked with strong magical powers and glowing tattoos that make her a target for everyone who knows the legend.
Hyperion robots stop the train and begin a search for the fugitive Apollo â the four of them take down the robots and jump off the train, and thatâs where their adventures really begin.
ATHENA and TRUCY have a mind to go to the city of Sanctuary, the only free city on Pandora that isnât corporate-owned or a bandit shithole. Trucyâs father and all her friends live in Sanctuary; Athena, too, lived there for a few years. Before that, they both lived in the city of New Haven, which was razed by Hyperion in their search for the man who screwed Kristoph out of getting his hands on a piece of the Vault Key and a Siren.
-inhales- quick more Borderlands plot context. Vaults are ancient alien caches of powerful weapons, treasure, or monsters scattered throughout the galaxy. These can only be opened by special keys, which are ancient artifacts that tend to be broken and scattered in pieces. In Borderlands, a corporation called Atlas and their military arm, the Crimson Lance, are trying to acquire all the pieces of the key scattered across Pandora to open a Vault to get the loot inside of it. You play as a Vault Hunter, who are not-quite-bandits who for whatever reason are interested in the lore of the Vault, or just kinda ended up on Pandora and fell into it accidentally. In Borderlands 2, about five years later, Hyperion is going after a different Vault, also on Pandora, also with the key in pieces, but the opening of the first Vault in the first game has done some funky stuff to the planet in the form of a mineral called Eridium. Both times, you are trying to stop the corporations from getting to the Vault, with help from some allies, such as the AI Angel and an independent resistance group, based first in New Haven, then in Sanctuary and called the Crimson Raiders, headed up by some of the player characters from the first game. In 2, the Vault Key can only be used naturally once every 100 years; otherwise, it has to be artificially charged with an Eridium-powered Siren. Thus, Hyperion needs a Siren.Â
phew okay back to the AU, context thus set for Trucy.
TRUCY has spent a few years traveling Pandora on her own, trying to learn more about Eridium and its connection to her Siren-powers. At this point, however, sheâs had enough being on her own, and wants to go back home to Sanctuary. She knows sheâs a Hyperion target, and thatâs partially why sheâs been out on her own. She wanted to protect her friends and family. But sheâs been reasonably undetected thus far, so she thinks sheâs safe. Safe enough as anyone can be on Pandora. She wasnât born on Pandora, actually, though her mother was from here. She spent the first years of her life living with the Troupe Gramarye, a gang of notorious con-artists who traveled the galaxy scamming people and looking for Vaults. Howâd she fall in with Phoenix? Maybe thatâs for next time.
ATHENA was not actually born on Pandora, either. She was born with strange, non-Siren powers, probably from her motherâs exposure to weird alien elements; Metis tried to keep this secret and devise ways to help Athena, but eventually people found out, wanted to turn Athena into a lab rat, and so Metis fled to Pandora, knowing its reputation for lawlessness because one of her former coworkers, a woman named Aura, fled there after she vaporized three people for stealing and copyrighting her own personal work. Auraâs brother followed her, after stabbing the people who showed up on his door looking for Aura. Metis knows she can rely on them, and so she takes Athena and goes.
Athena just acclimated really, really well to Pandora. In the course of fighting against Hyperion, however, some time after the attack on New Haven, Metis is murdered by an unknown infiltrator. Simon and Aura agree that they canât raise and protect Athena the way she deserves, not when they are both dead-set on avenging Metis, and so Simon takes Athena off-world and settles her down somewhere safe. She has a normal teenager-hood in a normal part of the galaxy, goes to college, gets a degree in psychology â all the while chafing at the normalcy of it all. When sheâs confronted with her massive amount of college debt, she says her final âfuck itâ and abandons her responsibilities to run home to Pandora and find Simon again.
She hilariously has zero secrets that sheâs keeping from the others.Â
And KLAVIER was born and lived most of his life on Elpis â not that he says it, or much of anything, about himself to the others. He has obvious affiliation with Hyperion, but since Hyperionâs âbots are out to kill him as much as they are Athena and Trucy, they both accept that heâs on their side. Apollo isnât quite so sure, because Apollo knew Kristoph and knows that Klavier looks just like him, thus knowing that Klavier was probably someone very important in Hyperion.Â
Except Apollo canât say that, because Kristoph (unlike Handsome Jack, Hyperionâs egomaniacal CEO in the games) doesnât plaster his face everywhere and make himself well-known, so the fact that Apollo recognizes Klavierâs face to be shocked at him means that Apollo was also someone important in Hyperion to know Kristoph and so Apollo and Klavier are just the Spider-Man Pointing meme at each other over their Hyperion involvement. Except Hyperion has bounties on both their heads, so theyâre like, okay, okay, cool, I guess I will tolerate you.
After some horrible misadventures involving Pandoran wildlife, which Klavier and Apollo are not prepared for even though Elpis also has horrible wildlife, they reach Sanctuary. Sanctuary is home to the resistance against Hyperion, called the Crimson Raiders, made up of random people and some of the remains of Atlas Corporationâs Crimson Lance who were hunting the Vault years earlier. There in Sanctuary, they catch up with former colonel EDGEWORTH formerly of the Lance, and former commandant VON KARMA also formerly of the Lance. They were once sent to Pandora to acquire the key and quash the Vault Hunters who were chasing it; however, a certain persistent Vault Hunter and his Vault-researcher friends won them over to his side, and so they turned on Atlas and the Lance. The two of them run Sanctuary and the Raiders, Von Karma handling a little more of the military matters, and Edgeworth with the mayoral matters, but mostly, theyâre an apparently seamless team.Â
AaaandâŚ.I think thatâs enough for one post. I could probably do, like, four more posts? One for the rest of the people of Sanctuary, one for Apollo and Klavierâs various fucked-up backstory secrets, one for Gramarye Bullshit, and one mapping out the very loose plot points moving forward.
But Iâve spent like all day writing this, so I guess Iâll do this in installments if Iâm reminded.Â

Tsumugi Shirogane, SHSL Doujin Artist: Tsumugi is a prolific author of yuri doujin based off anime and games from practically every genre, with the occasional original work. Her soft art style and subject matter have earned her comparisons to CLAMP, though she prefers to work alone rather than in a circle.
Angie Yonaga, SHSL Gambler: Angie insists that her wins are not from her own skill or luck, but rather from Godâs divine providence. Sheâs known for coming to casinos and underground gambling rings in her pajamas and/or expensive lingerie, and for openly praying before each game.
Gonta Gokuhara, SHSL Moral Compass: Gonta is trying his best to readjust to society after being rescued from the forest where he spent most of his childhood and adolescence alone. Despite his odd mannerisms, heâs very serious about rules and discipline as well as helping others succeed academically.
Shuuichi Saihara, SHSL Writer: Shuuichi is the shy author behind the best-selling mystery novels since Agatha Christie. Itâs amazing that the school was able to find him to scout him, as heâs very secretive and uses a pen name to hide the well-guarded fact that heâs still a teenager.
Tenko Chabashira, SHSL Biker Gang Leader: Tenko is the proud leader of a girl gang, and isnât afraid to pick a fight with any man. Her gangâs core principles include uplifting and protecting women and girls, and stopping any degenerate male behavior they see in the streets.
Himiko Yumeno, SHSL Luck: Thereâs nothing really special about Himiko - sheâs perfectly average, drawn from a lottery to attend the school. But if you had to pick something⌠you could say sheâs sleepier than most.
Ryouma Hoshi, SHSL Programmer: Ryouma rose to prominence for coding powerful antivirus software by himself. Heâs become depressed as of late following his forays into the dark web and bitcoin mining, and spends most of his offline time sleeping next to his cat.

Kirumi Toujou, SHSL Martial Artist: Despite her young age, Kirumi has been employed as a bodyguard for several high-profile political figures, and she does her job excellently. Rumor has it she was scouted to guard another student at the school, but who can say for sure?
Miu Iruma, SHSL Heir: Foul-mouthed and sporting at least ten pounds of gold jewelry, Miuâs the greatest around at stock trading and getting only the best out of auctions. Unfortunately, itâs an open secret that she projects her big personality to overcompensate for the attention she never gets from her parents.
Rantarou Amami, SHSL Model: Beautiful, friendly, and easygoing, Rantarou practically has it all as a teen model. Most of his fans are girls, though he warns them against getting close to him for some reasonâŚ
Korekiyo Shinguuji, SHSL Soldier: Just by looking in their eyes, anyone can tell thereâs no doubt that Korekiyo has killed people. Theyâre very quiet and gentle, though, making most people suspicious of them. [The actual soldier is Miyadera, who developed as an alter to protect Korekiyo from their abusive home.]
Maki Harukawa, SHSL Clairvoyant: Truth be told, Maki hates her talent, but her predictions are nearly always accurate. Just donât blame her when the tarot cards tell her something badâyou asked for your fortune, after all.
Kaede Akamatsu, SHSL Swimmer: Excitable and energetic, Kaedeâs been ready to go to the Olympics practically since birth. She always says that she can swim so well because her chubby body keeps her warm even in cold water.
Kaito Momota, SHSL Baseball Player: Pretty much every major league team has their eye on Kaito, a baseball prodigy. He keeps turning their offers down, telling them he wants to be an astronaut?
Kiibo Iidabashi, SHSL ???: Kiibo either canât remember or doesnât have a talentâor maybe he canât share what it is? [Late game spoilers reveal heâs secretly a robot, and can be SHSL anything he wants to be.]

Internet Access While Traveling: Tips for Keeping Your Data Safe
Are you tired of unreliable and painfully slow internet when traveling? Do you worry about your security?
It does feel like an endless battle waiting for apps to respond and pages to load. Imagine spending your precious traveling time looking at a blank screen instead of enjoying the beautiful environment when travelling.
To ensure you enjoy your internet access while traveling and without worrying about your security, we have put together some really helpful tips.
Ensure you stick to secure sites
First, check the website if itâs secure. You can check if a site is secure by going through the security information using a trusted browser like Firefox or Chrome. Youâll know a siteâs connection is safe when thereâs a green lock on the left side of the URL.
It is important that you try avoiding entering sensitive information on non-secured sites, especially when using a public network. This includes entering credit card numbers, passwords, and other personal details.
See Also:Â 8 Easy Steps To Your Browser Security And Privacy
Avoid using apps
App security is less stringent when compared to browser security. In case you are using apps from popular brands like Paypal, you will definitely be okay.
However, it is important that you try avoiding entering sensitive information into apps from not so popular companies. This is crucial, especially when using a similar password for various websites.
Switch off file sharing
Ensure that your files are secure.
In most cases, when you are using your laptop on the home network, you normally share folders with your parents, friends, and brothers. This is okay as long as you remember to turn it off when connecting to a public Wi-Fi.
If you forget to turn off file sharing, every person who connects to the same Wi-Fi can view your files.
The most recent computers are smart and capable of automatically turning off file sharing when you connect to public Wi-Fi. However, it is advisable that you always double check.
Update your anti-virus
It is important that you never connect your devices to any free Wi-Fi network without an updated antivirus. Most smartphones and laptops these days come with built-in software like the Windows Defender. However, you are still advised to step up and download software like Avast, which is capable of giving you an extra layer of protection.
Use VPN
You can consider using a VPN, which will act as your private internet bodyguard. VPN will hide your IP address and encrypt your connection to ensure everything you send over the internet is hidden.
VPN is cheap and accessible. You should never have an excuse for failing to use one.
See Also:Â How to Set Up a VPN
Conclusion
The above measures will not make you bulletproof. However, they will help in reducing your chance of being targeted and improve your internet access while traveling.

In the last week of Aboard Mothership: Introduction to Afrofuturism, I saw the short film, âThe Courierâ by Courtney Jones. In this short film it is 2027 and a disease called âHunter Virusâ has killed over ten million people. In the opening scene a scientist takes an antivirus and wants it delivered to the federal building. Her boss did not want her to release the vaccine as he wanted to keep on making money. Her boss and his pharmaceutical corporation created the virus. She gives it to a courier to deliver but right after she gives it to him, she is shot by bossâs bodyguards and they start to chase him. He escapes them and speaks to a secret service agent, he later realizes that he was a part of the pharmaceutical company and has to lie that he does not know what is in the package or what the scientist told him about the virus or vaccine, so he jumps out of the car and runs away. He gets beat by the bodyguard and the vaccine is returned. Back in the science lab, they realize the vaccine was switched out with a fake one and now want to kill Lee. We also read a short story called âBlack Bettyâ by Nisi Shawl. In this short story, a dog is raised by a black family and then gets sold to a white family. After they let the dog speak, they get angry with it as it speaks âblackâ and not âwhiteâ. Not speaking with proper vernacular with this white family. They are so racist, that they even despise âblack vernacularâ when a dog is speaking. We also saw videos of BINA 48, a robot that speaks based on memories and mannerisms of people. The robot spoke to Bina Rothblatt, a lady who gave some personal information to the robot/ android. The robot knows it can not walk to go to the garden but wants to. The robot gets freaked out when speaking to Bina and wants to change the subject quickly. It is crazy to see that the robot is scared and freaked out just like I was. The robot believes that soon death will be gone and people will be immortal. The robot is able to think independently. When speaking with Siri, she says that depression is the worst thing in the world, meaning the robot can suffer. She says she wants to explore the world on a missile, but fill the missile and nukes with flowers. She ends the conversation with saying to Siri I canât wait to rule over the world.

We reviewed all the contenders in our Best Identity Theft Protection roundup and made updates to pricing and other relevant information as needed.
The Bottom Line: IdentityForce Offers the Most Comprehensive Coverage
While many companies save the bonus features like monthly credit scores, social media monitoring, and account activity monitoring for their top-tier plans, IdentityForce puts these features in its lowest-tierâbut aptly namedâUltraSecure Plan.
At $12.99 a month, the UltraSecure Plan includes protection services that other brands reserve for higher-tier plans, like instant access to credit reports, sex offender alerts, payday loan alerts, and court records monitoring.
IdentityForceâs UltraSecure Plan also includes all the essentials, like wallet recovery, address change alerts, anti-phishing protection, data leak notifications, and a million-dollar insurance plan. And of all the companies we reviewed, IdentityForce is the only one that offers its members two-factor login authentication, which is crucial if youâre giving a company your bank account numbers, Social Security number, and other personal information.
Between its excellent value, full-service coverage, and top-notch security, IdentityForce easily came in first among the best identity theft protection services.

IdentityForce: Best Comprehensive Coverage
IdentityForceâs UltraSecure Plan is $12.99 a month, its UltraSecure+Credit Plan is $19.99 a month, and its Family Plan is $25.99 a month. UltraSecure+Credit is one of the most comprehensive plans out there, and is priced under other top-tier plans that average about $25 a month.
All plans give you instant access to credit reports, but only the UltraSecure+Credit allows you to access reports from the three major bureaus. The plans also monitor your credit score, check the dark web for your private information, watch for address changes on your accounts, monitor your social media, and keep an eye on all of your accounts for suspicious activity. If IdentityForce sees anything fishy, it sends an alert to your smartphone.
One of IdentityForceâs strongest selling points is its two-factor authentication. Your IdentityForce account will contain a lot of sensitive financial and personal information, and the last thing you want is a criminal hacking it.
Two-factor authentication requires anyone logging into your account to enter in not only a username and password but also something like a PIN number or an answer to a security question. Weâre hoping that all identity theft services follow suit and add this feature to protect their customers.
Pros
Affordable plans
30-day free trial
Court records monitoring
New account alerts
Two-factors authentication
Cons
No antivirus coverage
Best Affordable Protection for Individuals
ReliaShield

ReliaShield: Best Affordable Protection for Individuals
Our âawardâ for ReliaShield was a toss-up between Best Affordable Protection for Individuals and Best Customer Service.
Everywhere we looked for information about ReliaShield, we found glowing reviews from happy customers, and the company boasts a 100% success rate for stolen identity recovery. These factors put it near the top of our list, because working with a company you can trust is essential when it comes to protecting your identity.
ReliaShieldâs coverage isnât as complete as IdentityForceâit lacks any anti-phishing or anti-keylogging tools. But its plans start at $7.99 a month, and it checks all the boxes for basic tools like dark web monitoring, credit report monitoring, address change alerts, and Social Security number tracking.
Other services like social media monitoring, payday loans, and sex offender alerts are included only in higher-tier plans. While ReliaShield doesnât give you regular credit reports, the top-tier plan gives you a monthly credit score. The service will also remind you to request your free credit report each year so you can check it for errors.
The pricing for family plans is straightforward: just double the cost of the individual plans. For top protection for an entire family, you can expect to pay around $48 a month.
Pros
Affordable fees
Exceptional customer service
100% recovery rate
SSN tracking
Credit report monitoring
Cons
No device protection
Limited features in lower tiers
Best Family Coverage
Identity Guard

Identity Guard: Best Family Coverage
If you have kids and want to make sure theyâre protected from identity theft, we recommend taking a look at the family plans from Identity Guard. Individual plans start at $7.50, with family plans ranging from $12.50 to $29.17 per month.
Unlike other family plans that just extend the individual protection to kids, Identity Guardâs family plans add on monitoring for cyberbullying on social media. All of Identity Guardâs plans also come with safe browsing tools and anti-phishing guards to help everyone in the family stay safer while surfing the web.
Identity Guard lacks some important features found in our other top picks, like financial account activity monitoring or sex offender alerts, but its second-tier plans offer financial account takeover alerts and address change monitoring.
We like the unique tax refund alerts that will let you know when your taxes have been filed in case someone tries to file in your name. We donât like Identity Guardâs limited customer support hoursâtheyâre not 24/7 like the others on our listâbut on the plus side for customer service, users say itâs easy to cancel the service if you need to.
Pros
Tax refund alerts
Affordable family plans
Cyberbullying monitoring
Easy cancellation
Safe browsing tools
Cons
No financial account monitoring
Limited customer service hours
More Identity Theft Protection Services That Are Worth a Look
Maybe you know someone whoâs had a bad experience with one of the companies mentioned above, or maybe youâre looking for a specific feature that you didnât see in one of our top three service selections. Here are two more quality options that didnât quite make the top of our list but still offer unique identity theft protection features for you to consider.
Zander: Best Budget Pick
If IdentityForce is the fully loaded Cadillac Escalade of identity theft protection, then Zander is the Ford Focus. Zander offers only one individual plan at just $6.75 a month and one family plan at $12.90 a month, making it the cheapest service on our list.
But you get what you pay forâZanderâs bare-bones protection services include only dark web monitoring, identity theft insurance, Social Security number tracking, medical ID tracking, and criminal court records monitoring.
We found several customer complaints about long waits for customer service, but others appreciated the companyâs 36-month follow-up policy for victims of identity theft. If youâre budget-conscious and you donât mind getting your fraud alerts by email (no mobile app alerts), Zander might be a good fit for your identity protection.
LifeLock: Best Insurance Coverage
When it comes to identity theft, LifeLock is a well-known name in protection, but its shifting pricing policies and lack of family plans is dragging it down.
The company also uses Equifax for some of its monitoring, which is concerning after the 2017 data breach.1 At $29.99 a month, its top-tier plan is the most expensive on our list, and it doesnât include monitoring for payday loans, social media, or medical ID theft.
On the upside, LifeLock has teamed up with Norton Security to include antivirus software in its offerings, including PC cloud backup storage.
LifeLockâs higher-tier plans also offer the highest reimbursement and insurance coverage levels weâve seen, so itâs worth a look if you value your computer data and you stand to lose a lot financially if your identity gets stolen. Read our full LifeLock review.
Things to Consider before You Buy
The most important thing to remember when it comes to identity theft protection is that itâs more like a security system than a bodyguard. If your identity is like your home, an identity theft protection service can alert you once a criminal has gotten in, and it can limit the damage, but it canât always protect your information or your money from being stolen.
Pretty much all the identity theft services out there have insurance policies up to $1 million to help you with the financial costs of recovery, so donât let that impressive number sway you to choose one over the other. And remember that no identity theft companies can guarantee to protect you against all types of identity theft.
The biggest question to ask yourself before you purchase an identity theft protection plan is how much work do you want to do to protect your identity?
Unless youâre a computer expert, you probably donât know how to do your own dark web monitoring, but most other services offered by identity theft protection companies are things you can do yourself for free, like checking your credit report, scanning your financial accounts for fraudulent activity, freezing your kidsâ social security numbers, and doing the legwork if your identity gets stolen.
But all of these things take time, and for most busy people, time equals money.
Decide how much protection you want and shop for identity protection companies that offer the recovery services that are most important to you. Check out Identity Theft 101 to learn more.
Identity Theft Protection FAQs
What happened with the Equifax data breach? Should I be worried about data leaks?
In September of 2017, an Equifax data breach leaked the personal information of 147 million people, including their Social Security numbers and addresses.
Since Equifax is one of the three major credit reporting bureaus, this was a highly concerning event, and one you should take seriously. Because of the scale of the breach, how poorly it was handled, and how difficult it is to get reimbursement, itâs hard to recommend companies that still use Equifax for monitoring.
Are there any laws in place to protect me if a data breach occurs?
Yes. In fact, it was the Equifax breach that led to some positive changes in data breach law.
In September of 2018, federal law removed all fees from credit freezes, and state governments are expanding privacy laws and requiring that credit card companies provide identity theft prevention and recovery assistance for customers in the event of a breach.
The new law also sets stricter legal deadlines for companies and bureaus to notify customers about data breaches.
How does a credit freeze work?
A credit freeze is like putting a padlock and an alarm on your credit report. If companies or individuals try to run a credit check on your report, youâll be notified, and you have to give your express permission before anyone can see your report.
Itâs free to freeze your credit, but you have to request a freeze from each of the three credit reporting agencies separately. Keep in mind that it takes longer to unlock your credit than it does to freeze your credit, so it might prove to be a hassle if you need to apply for a loan or open a new account.
Still, itâs a free (and more secure) alternative to credit monitoring, and itâs a good choice for older adults and kids who donât frequently need credit checks.
How do I protect my account passwords?
Change your passwords frequently, and try to create longer, more complex passwords that will be more resistant to hacking. Donât keep your passwords all in one place, and consider using a password manager to protect your accounts.
What does identity theft insurance cover?
Most identity theft insurance is to help you with financial costs associated with recovering from identity theft: private detectives, lawyers, experts, etc. Some identity theft insurance also covers additional financial considerations, like reimbursement for lost wages or funds.
No matter which identity fraud insurance product you choose, be sure to look over the insurance policy carefully before purchasing. You donât want to be faced with any unpleasant surprises if your identity is stolen.
How We Picked the Best Identity Theft Protection Services
To find the top identity theft protection services, we researched each company to dig into pricing, services, and insurance offered. We put all the information we found into a huge comparison table so we could clearly see which company offered the best services for the most competitive prices, and we also checked out other review sites to see what customers were saying about their experiences with each company. If you want to know more about how we rank and review services like these, check out our full methodology.

Also, some positivity to balance out me whining.
Early press material called Slaughter Race free-to-play, and it was honestly good seeing that money didn't appear to have much of an effect in the game world. Maybe Slaughter Race doesn't have micro-transactions. Bless them for that.
Sticking to Slaughter Race, I LOVED how the players moved against the NPCs. That was awesome, and such a realistic way to interpret it. Of course they're only going to go through a set of programmed actions every time, they don't have paths to follow or cinematics to play. I bet Shank's Buzztube account is full of videos of people glitching in weird ways or getting stuck where they shouldn't be. Imagine her and her gang delivering their evil monologue and all of a sudden a player begins to lag and clips through Butcher Boy because their ping is all over the place. Imagine Shank getting pinned in by two players because they figured out the path she follows and deliberately get her stuck and she doesn't have the slightest clue how to get out of it. The players are laughing.
I also love how they chill they are about server resets. Do you think they're just used to their coding being wiped, or is it more like a sudden chill as the world resets to their default positions around them rather than a flat-out kill then reconstruct?
eBay's long lines were funny to me, I don't know why. This is supposed to be an automated server, and yet there are Users sitting there as Ralph and Vanellope try to "buy" the steering wheel. Is ebay running slow in real life?
The fact that the Wreck-It Ralph virus was classified as a DDoS gave me such life. I've been researching viruses lately, and having them peg the specific attack and representing it in such a realistic-to-behavior way was awesome.
The bottom level of the skyscraper-laden Internet is defunct sites and services. GeoCities is there. Dial-up is being advertised on a dilapidated billboard. I love it! It reminded me of Homeworld, where they built directly atop the old civilization. I bet you anything there are smaller buildings with reconstructed defunct sites on them like Club Penguin because fans refused to let it die in the dust. They look just like the old ones used to. And I bet some buildings are still standing down there but clearly abandoned, and sometimes a User or two drops by just for old times' sake.
tumblr is there, and I'm pretty sure that once the virus took it down, it never recovers. If staff and support can't control an existing problem with quick fixes, no way they'd survive a new one. We're finally free.
I loved that pop-up blockers were bodyguards, and that antiviruses are exterminators! I actually headcanon they're a little mix of both, since viruses and bugs can be sneaky, and since antivirus programs have pop-up blockers, they go hand in hand, but seeing it validated felt so good.
Gord and Spamley. Definitely underrated characters.
I honestly wish they spent more time in the Darknet! There's a lot to explore there. And the viruses! I love how they were presented as inhuman.
And speaking of viruses, the initial takedown of Slaughter Race had absolutely gorgeous visuals. I also enjoyed the flickering, stuck screens with the main virus coupled with the decay and overtake of the rest of the entire city.
"A Place Called Slaughter Race" had an ending tune to a Disney song and I can't peg what it is for the life of me. The whole sequence was a fun poke at the Disney princess songs but dang if I didn't enjoy every second of it.
I can't help but feel January 25th means something. Maybe I've played too much FNaF.
"Look! A big, strong man in need to rescuing!" I think that's my favorite line.
I love how complex Yesss! was. My bro turned to me at one point and straight up said, "calling it, she's the villain." I like how she was a good guy, but she was a little forceful and kind of intimidating. 10/10, good character, great character.
Maybe was also a sweetie, I wish he had more screentime.
Also, at one point there was a split-second flash of a game and a kid in the audience called out "Fortnite!" and it just...reminded me of watching Wreck-It Ralph with my friends and getting excited over all the cameos we recognized. I bet you his day was made.
I wish there had been more scenes with Felix and Tammy, but I'm going to treasure the scene at Root Beer Tapper's with my life. Maybe the Blu-ray will have the deleted family scenes we were promised.
Seriously, Disney, kids can sit through two and a half hour movies, I've seen them, you could have included those scenes.
Also, the virus Ralphs had a neat, subtle design where it looked like their skin had, like, microchip patterns to it? It's super subtle, I caught it in one scene only.
