Rolling Stone Magazine Top 200 Singers - The Omissions List

Once in awhile, I’ll do a music themed blog post and boy do I have a post for you. Rolling Stone Magazine opens 2023 with a list that no one asked for. Their 200 Singers list is an all time low for the once flourishing magazine. When you include auto-tuned singers like Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Lana Del Ray and dull as dishwater singers (again, my opinion) like Morrissey, Courtney Love, Michael Stipe, Bono, Bruce Springsteen and Eddie Vedder, you lose credibility in my book. Here are the singers of different backgrounds, genres, and vocalizations (in alphabetical order) that Rolling Stone failed to include on their inept list:

Musical milestones in our long friendship include a handful of demos, impromptu house concerts, and a couple public performances (not to mention countless turntable gab sessions over tea and mix tape swappings). SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Springfield Thunderbirds forward Bobby Farnham has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of his actions in a game at Charlotte on Apr. 7.

Farnham was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline). He will miss Springfield’s game Friday (Apr. 12) vs. Bridgeport.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today the individual team winners of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year awards, selected by their respective clubs for their outstanding contributions to the local community and charitable organizations during the 2018-19 season.

From this list of finalists, representatives from IOA/American Specialty and the AHL will choose the winner of the 2018-19 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award. The AHL’s annual Man of the Year award is named after the late Yanick Dupre, who died in 1997 at the age of 24 following a 16-month battle with leukemia. Dupre, an AHL All-Star in 1995, played four seasons with the Hershey Bears and also skated in 35 National Hockey League games with the Philadelphia Flyers.

This year’s winners of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year awards are:

Kaj Pousar släpper låt om sin hemstad Kaj Pousar har flera singlar och album i bagaget. Nu släpper han nya singeln Min Hemstad, en låt som handlar om att blickar tillbaka på uppväxten och hemstaden. Med sig har han musiker och producenter som trott på och delat hans vision: gitarristen Tommy Denander (som spelat med bl.a Michael Jackson och Toto) och producenten Samuel Waermö (Bon Jovi, Journey South, Elena Paparizou, John Farnham m.fl)

”Redan då Kaj och jag gjorde hans första skiva ”Livet” 2012 etablerade vi hans perfekta sound i mina öron.  Bredbent äkta rock på svenska! Folk älskar dessa låtar och sjunger med varje gång vi spelat live. Kajs nya singel Min Hemstad är en tydlig återgång till det soundet och jag tror folk kommer sjunga med i den också inom kort!”, säger gitarristen och producenten Tommy Denander

Kajs texter är ofta självbiografiska och handlar om vardagsting så som hur det är att vara människa, att älska, längta, mista, skratta och gråta och flera av hans låtar har spelats på radiostationer runt om i Sverige. Han sjöng bland annat in en duett med Tone Norum, Egen Staty som resulterade i en turné både i Sverige och Norge. Han har varit en av finalisterna i P4 Nästa i Sörmland och bland annat öppnat för TOTO-sångaren Bobby Kimball och Legends Voice of Rock.  

”Kajs röst sätter en prägel på låten vilket gör den unik. För att kunna sticka ut bland all musik som släpps idag så måste man beröra folk, antingen ogillar dom eller älskar dom men man måste beröra och det är precis det Kaj gör”, säger producenten och låtskrivaren Samuel Waermö

”Min Hemstad handlar om att blicka tillbaka till uppväxten i staden där man växte upp på både på gott och ont. Om gemenskapen och känna den känslan man hade under ungdomstiden. Livet lekte och man var lite naiv och livet kändes så lätt då”, säger Kaj
