Why in the world would Hollyhock have a diamond mark on her head? From what we've seen, it runs in the Sugarman's family, not Horseman's. I get that they were trying to make us think Hollyhock is Bojack's daughter but c'mon, the show is way too clever for that.

Bojack Characters in Gregory House

Before season 6's finale, I thought pretty much every main character (save for Mr. Peanutbutter) would end up at Gregory House due to their issues but with season 6's finale giving most of the main characters a happy ending, there are only two characters I think could end up in Gregory House:

Bojack and Hollyhock.

Now if you've been watching the show, you probably know why Bojack would end up in Gregory House (especially after his self-unaliving attempt) so I'm not gonna repeat it here.

Hollyhock is a interesting case as the reason I think she ends up at Gregory House has to do with Bojack's self-unaliving attempt in the antepenultimate episode of the show.

It's already been established that Hollyhock had the same self-destructive thoughts that Bojack has, which might point to it being a inherited trait from their father but I digress.

Imagine she's reading the news when she sees the headline "Disgraced Hollywoo Star's Attempted Suicide Thwarted" with a picture of her brother's face. Once the shock wears off, she reads that her brother broke into his old home and tried to drown himself in the pool.

Her self-destructive thoughts are going to say that her letter drove her brother to suicide and that, if he died, his blood would be on her hands.

This self-destruction spiral is the perfect recipe for landing her in Gregory House.

As for whether or not the Horseman siblings make it out and back to reality? I'm uncertain because there's a lot of factors we don't know the true answer for.

Thinking about how Hollyhock tried to make BoJack a toaster strudel as a token of gratitude for letting her stay the night at his house and accidentally completely burnt it but BoJack appreciated her gesture anyway and tried to eat it 😭😭❤️

So, I drew this back in October 2021 but only shared it on the BoJack Horseman Reddit - I liked the idea of lining up the diamonds in Bojacks family tree, ending up with Hollyhock breaking away from their family trauma. I only realised after the sketch that Honey doesn’t have a diamond but I still wanted her to be at the top.

Octavia Cutting Ties With Stolas Will Be The Anti-Thesis To Hollyhock's Letter To Bojack

Instead of being a pivotal moment where the character messed up enough that they screwed one of their most precious relationships, it instead will be caused by blaming it on others as always instead of his own decisions that led to his daughter becoming estranged by from him.

As much as it hurt to see Hollyhock cut ties with Bojack, she was in the right because new revelations of what happened with Sarah-Lynn showed him as a coward who was willing to let someone die if it could cover his ass. Somewhat the same thing with Stolas instead it's just he's willing to destroy the home she grew up in just to fulfill his own selfish desires and is unapologetic that he did it.

As said before, Stolas is more Bojack than Blitzo ever is due to the fact that he goes around ruining people's lives yet cries how he is the victim in all of it. I know they tried to make Blitzo the Bojack figure but he doesn't come off that way as much due to how much worse Stolas is excused for his actions and gets babied after being called out by people who are strawmanned as being too mean or harsh on him.

If the show wasn't cowardly it would actually show this isn't a result of his ex-wife and brother in law's manipulations, but the fact he keeps on making promises to his daughter and neglecting her. It's no wonder she's fed up at the end because he obviously prioritizes Blitzo over her despite claiming otherwise. And try as it might it can't keep blaming others for his fuck ups, because the audience are more siding with Via over him for a reason. As said before, as much as it hurts to see Bojack lose Hollyhock she really is right not to trust him and see him as a toxic mess she needs to let go of. Who knows if she ever will reconnect with him again, but she had a right to do so if she saw how he treated others he supposedly care for.

While Hollyhock's action to cut off Bojack did divide people, ultimately the narrative did decide she was in the right. However, with Vivziepop babying Stolas she will demonize Via for daring to let her dad face actual consequences and pity him that lost his daughter and probably will blame someone else for it. Ultimately, it's another moment that tries to be like Bojack but will end up failing because it missed the point so badly.
