U.S. Navy Bluejackets during the Battle of Zapote River.

On June 13, 1899, General Lawton's division moved south from Manila in order to capture the Filipino stronghold of Cavite. Reaching the Zapote river, they encountered Filipino entrenchements and engaged its defenders in a fierce fight.

To aid their assaults, American forces called on for support from the US Navy gunboats in Manila Bay, among them being the USS Helena and USS Monadnock. These two ships would provide naval gunfire, while also landing around 90 Bluejackets on shore, to support one of the attacks along the beach shore, as well as provide the army troops with additional supplies and ammunition.

marian changes her bandages pretty regularly. she kinda has to, when using one set for too long will end up with thorns piercing through the paper. she has to prune herself, too.

so she has a few different types of bandage she uses. she's got simple papyrus-coloured ones for general usage and a selection of blues and navies for when she wants to look a little sharper.

if she spends too long out at zee and runs out of spare bandages, she's also not above tearing outdated maps into strips and bandaging herself in those, either.

When news broke this morning that Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Gaudreau died I didn’t know what to think, I was never really a big fan of Columbus nor have I ever heard of ether of them  but today seeing all the news articles and posts and all the memorials throughout the day, made me sadder then I thought I should be, I never watched them play or anything, but now I wish I did. The world lost two great players and even greater husbands, fathers, and humans.

Thinking of their Family and friends at this time! And all of the flames and bluejackets players, fans and staff, and the hockey Community as a whole.
