Lava crosses the main road to Grindavík and flows on the road leading to the Blue Lagoon, in Grindavík, Iceland, Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024. A volcano in southwestern Iceland has erupted for the third time since December and sent jets of lava into the sky. The eruption on Thursday morning triggered the evacuation the Blue Lagoon spa which is one of the island nation’s biggest tourist attractions.

My favorite Eden comic! In my mind it was exactly like The Blue Lagoon, including fabulous Brooke Shield eyebrows for everyone!

(Nov. 10. 2023) The blue lagoon in Iceland is currently closed (for a week) due to a high risk of a volcanic eruption within a kilometer (0.8 miles) of the popular tourist location.

When the gathering magma breaks the earth's crust, anyone visiting the blue lagoon will have (best case scenario) approximately 20 minutes to make it to safety.

If there are people sleeping in the adjacent hotel or gods forbid in the lagoon itself, the worst case scenario is the magma breaking surface beneath the lagoon.

The only truly realistic way to avoid serious casualties here is for the resort, hotel, and lagoon yo remain completely closed until the danger passes.

There are currently icelandic people calling for a 2/1 deal (or cheaper) on blue lagoon tickets for Icelandic people on twitter.

Do Not Go To The Blue Lagoon Until The Danger Has Passed!!

It's a lovely experience but it's absolutely not worth boiling alive or burning to death.

Marauders Stranded on an Island Au

(watched a German movie the other day, so I've been thinking about this)

James, Remus, the Blacks, & Barty are on vacation in the same place. They don't know each other. Through some unfortunate events (let's say a prank by newly met James & Sirius) they end up stranded on an island somewhere in the middle of the ocean.

(Personally, I don't have the nerves to write stories with all of the Marauders being constantly in one place, but I guess adding Lily, Mary, Marlene & Dorcas would be possible. I find it hard enough to include Barty)

James and Sirius would play-fight about who's in charge

James & Barty would actually fight about who's in charge

Remus thinks he is actually in charge

no one is in charge, it's chaos, and nothing gets done

they find an abandoned hut to sleep in or build some sort of structure, which caves in repeatedly until Remus adds his brains to the whole construction process

Sirius would play Big Brother Protector, annoying the fuck out of Regulus (maybe Reg is trans and Sirius thinks he needs to keep this secret from the rest because he thinks the other guys would try to do something to him and / or be transphobic)

Regulus, held small by his parents and usually a shy and passive kid, thinks James is hot and proceeds to flirt with him when they're alone just to provoke Sirius into getting angry when he sees James flirt back

Regulus bathes in the ocean or a lagoon in his underwear, wanting James to notice and watch. He flirts with him but then suddenly calls his big brother claiming James is peeping on him - James and Sirius end up in a fist fight

Barty finds all of this hilarious and he and Reg become friends

James gets jealous because he thinks something is going on between Barty & Reg

Remus hates all of them initially, except maybe Regulus (except when he's provoking his brother)

Remus thinks he's the smartest out of the bunch (he is) and the only one capable of rational thought (yes) and survival (no)

Remus thinks Sirius is especially annoying, at fault for their current situation, and too impulsive (and hot. he also thinks he's super hot)

Remus also has anger issues - he bonds with Sirius after the mentioned fistfight

James and Sirius are initially annoyed by Remus too and think of him as far too up his own ass - they joke that he'd loosen up if he hooked up with someone

Regulus goads them into making a bet because he thinks Remus would never go for his idiot brother

oh, and Evan & Pandora fled from their family to this place some time ago and try to scare them away but help them when Remus is injured - Barty & Evan fall in love and Pandora is some kind of moon witch bc why not ?
