i'm sorry for this really stupid D-tier meme i made but i just couldn't get blobron out of my head today

These two stills nicely show the passage of time during Sauron's goo phase. Stalactites and stalagmites do not grow exactly quickly.

It's only after the shot in the second still that Blobron devours the poor rat.

It means he was a black puddle for a very long time before he turned into a spaghetti monster, crawled out of the cave, had a sled adventure, was run over by a carriage and turned into Halbrand... possibly not of the Southlands. :-)

It's a lovely example of "show don't tell."

I saw you mention the difference/importance between Female!Kamui aligning with Nohr as opposed to male aligning with Hoshido. I don't understand? Can you please explain?

This post I wrote a few months ago is basically why M!Kamui is Hoshidan to a fault. 

TL;DR version is basically: Hoshido has some serious gender stereotyping, Takumi’s brother/father issues, Hinoka only inherits the throne once the two living male heirs are dead, Ryouma’s anxiety issues stem from feeling inadequate to a far far younger sibling who was “charismatic” and it makes far more sense for a prince to make Ryouma’s position for the throne feel threatened

Also another thing to reinforce Hoshido Kamui is Syalla/Rhajat. Since the implication of Kamui being a previous life of Robin (FEA) and Tharja obviously living vicariously through Syalla here, and Robin and Tharja’s relationship. Whilst Syalla is the gay option for Kamui (and her JP support is really lovely the ENG version butchered it (like with Zero’s...)), that singleminded love is still there. Plus the talk about other lives and stuff etc etc. And we all know how much Tharja loved M!Robin. So like, it’s incredibly small, but it’s something else to factor in.

The box art for the game pretty much hints at it too, like basically slapping F!Kamui with Nohr everywhere and M!Kamui all over Hoshido. It’s not just subtle ploys at showing that you can play either, like their designs are specifically made for it. Even in the Cipher games, M!Kamui is more associated with white (Hoshido) and F!Kamui is pretty much always in black (Nohr). Even just casual dialogue has suggestions either way at what Kamui suits what - like baking bread, even.

F!Kamui suits Nohr because of the way the relationship the Nohrian siblings have with Kamui. Marx has that princess in a tower angle playing with him (literally, that is how his support with F!Kamui goes), Leon has his very confused sisterboner towards Camilla that’s given another spanner in the works in the form of Kamui. Camilla herself just has that crippling need to look after someone, and control them, and whilst it’s played pretty fairly with either Kamui, M!Kamui gives her the unfortunate wish fulfilment (that is severely unhealthy for her), while F!Kamui gives her that need to continue to nurture and pamper. 

Like with Sakura, I don’t believe Elise gives a fuck either way. She just needs a sibling that supports her through everything. Especially since she grew up with Blobron and only knows his abuse as a sign of love, and her other siblings are just completely and wholly not with it enough to sit and listen wholeheartedly. Kamui in both respects gives Elise the love that she needs.

I listened to a podcast where the guys were like "Sauron changed to Halbrand in a day". Haven't you been paying attention? It took a thousand years. How many animals were there in that cave? Poor Blobron was a blob for quite long.

Stopped listening to it right away.

It wasn't the only one that got it wrong. At least the other one was more enjoyable to listen to. Hey, guys, come to the Tumblr hive mind, you might learn a thing or two. 😊

I find it moving that the light in the cave is streaming to the exactly same place where our beloved goo spent centuries... gooing.

It's a lovely metaphor of a possibility of him turning to the light. Except we know how that ended up. But the possibility is there at every turn. Not taking it is his tragedy (sadly also the tragedy of others).
