Thinking about drunk Eric…

He's a heavyweight (despite not eating much) so it takes a bit to get him tipsy, but when he's drunk Eric can be… too honest. Says dumb things. Much more expressive. Maybe a bit childish. Still doesn't cause trouble though he is a bit stubborn with some things.

Drunk Eric chromeric drabble that I wrote at 2am under cut:

Chrome, who's been sitting next to Eric during the party, becomes increasingly concerned as the number of glasses on the table go up. Eric had been drinking a lot, only leaving for a moment to use the restroom, before coming back to his seat to continue. He's lost count at this point as Eric keeps drinking, with multiple refills offered from other constructs, commandants, and various personnel in attendance who wanted to exchange some words with the young man.

"Commandant, shouldn't you drink some water?"

"M'm fine…"

Eric's cheeks were flushed pink, contrasting against his pale skin. He raises the whiskey glass to his lips, but Chrome is quick to stop him, taking the glass away and standing up from the table as Eric pouts. Wait. Pouting?

"I was still drinking that."

"I think it's best if you stop for the night." Chrome kneels down to cup Eric's cheek with one hand, the other resting on his forehead. "You're burning up."

Eric looks at Chrome in a daze, before clasping the hand at his cheek to rub against it, eyes closing in bliss.

"C-Commandant?"

"Chrome's hands feel nice…"

The other Gray Ravens and Strike Hawk had gathered around them now. Liv quickly hands Chrome a glass of water as Lee and Wanshi push the alcohol away from Eric's reach.

"Commandant-"

"Eric." Eric looks up to Chrome, pouting again. Truly a rare sight for everyone present. It was endearing. "We're not on duty. Use my name."

Chrome clears his throat as he corrects himself. "Eric, please just drink some water for now…"

Thankfully Eric was easy to please as the man obediently takes slow sips with Chrome's help. It's hard to ignore the giggles and whispers from others who were watching the exchange. Who'd have thought the famous and stoic Gray Raven Commandant could be so childish when drunk…

Lee steps up to Eric's side, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder as he looks to Chrome. "I'll carry him back to Gray Raven's lounge."

"No." Eric moves away from Lee, and Kamui bursts out laughing as Lee looks down at his commandant in disbelief.

"Commandant, please-"

"No." Eric is clinging onto Chrome now, his voice muffled as his face is buried in the other's shoulder. "I want to stay with Chrome."

Kamui's wheezing in the back now, Liv and Lucia giggling at the commandant's antics. Camu and Wanshi can only hold back their laughter as they watch Chrome and Lee trying to pull Eric away, but the man is stubborn and his grip surprisingly tight.

"Eric, people are staring-!"

"Chrome…" Eric's muffled voice is hard to hear and Chrome turns up his hearing module. "Is what everyone saying true…?"

"What is?"

"That you love me."

Chrome chokes as Kamui bursts into another round of laughter, looking around frantically before turning his attention back to Eric, the silence daunting. He couldn't run away from telling him the truth anymore.

"Yes, Eric, I love you."

Eric finally pulls away and his face lights up with a soft smile. "I love Chrome too."

Chrome feels something in him snap upon hearing the words alongside such an innocent smile. He quickly scoops up the man into his arms, and before anyone can get a word in they're already gone.

Lucia looks at the hall's exit in concern.

"…Should we go after them?"

"It's fine isn't it? The Captain finally confessed his feelings for Commandant after so long, it's their happy ending!"

"I'm more worried about what our Captain's planning to do to the Commandant. He had that serious, determined look on his face-"

"Lee? Lee!"

"Lee, come back! We shouldn't disturb Commandant and Captain Chrome!"

"Lee!!!"

“Is there a limit to how big you can make a stable before it’s considered a barn?”

G’raha perked his ears up at Halditar’s question, lowering the kettle he was using to pour hot water over the coffee grounds awaiting in the pot. The roe in question had already been downstairs when he awoke that morning, hunched over several papers on the kitchen table. Most prominently, blueprints.

“I’m not sure…” his hand came to his, as it always did when pondering even the most simple of questions. “That’s not a question I’ve had to consider before. I suppose it depends on if the building is surrounded by walls. Why?”

To answer for Halditar, a series of sharp barks resounded from the sitting room. The sound of claws and paws falling on wood skittered from one room to the next, and eventually into the kitchen. G’raha’s tail puffed on instinct as he had to hop and perch himself on the kitchen counter else his legs were swept out from under him by the racing wolves.

The Reveling Kamuy, named Ichiko, held in her mouth one of the many soft blankets thrown over the back of their sofa. It dragged beneath her as she practically skipped through delight. Dragged upon the blanket was Thistle, yapping with delight as he was taken on this ride. Less enthused were his two pursuers, the Auspicious Kamuy and the Lunar Kamuy, Ryoshi and Yuri respectively. The nipped and barked angrily at the joyous wolf, chasing her around the kitchen a few before she tried to escape upstairs. Halditar rose from her seat, brow furrowed in anger and confusion.

“Hey, hey! Who let you three in?!” she shouted and ran to chase after the quartet, voice muffled as she tried to command them to stay off the furniture. G’raha sighed, both to bid his tail to release the tension suddenly built, and because fondness was quick to warm his heart. To think after all that happened in the first, after the trial in the Final Days, he would get to know such bliss… It was hard not to feel like he didn’t deserve such luck sometimes.

The miqo’te finished the brewing of his coffee, intending to just relax a few hours alone before making his way to Sharlayan and continue with the rebuilding efforts of the Students of Baldesion. It didn’t feel like much progress was being made, but Krile assured him beneath the hood, their efforts would make for a strong foundation. It was humorous, almost. To feel so out of depth helping the organization that had been the only home he knew, after managing some of the last remnants life in another shard. Oh, how so many people would get on him over these thoughts.

Though, those thoughts paused as he stepped into the living area. Taking a few moments to process the massive wolf that sat in front of him, staring with an expression unreadable. “Hello there…” It came out on instinct and shock. The Legendary Kamuy, Jona, just continued to stare. G’raha started to feel the hairs on the back of his neck rise, and the taste of metal in his mouth. With no other option, he sidestepped the staring auspice… And found a much bigger surprise in the living room.

“Ah! It was you!” Halditar announced her presence with an accusation.

Probably a very accurate one as the Kamuy of Nine Tails huffed and turned her head away, her thick fur practically enveloping the couch she was curled around. The remaining Kamuy were also scattered in the living room in different ways, most notably the Euphonious Kamuy Hayami was making herself very comfortable in the fireplace, rolling on her back and smearing soot and charcoal everywhere. The redhead set down the Ichiko, who instantly began to dance and try to play with Jona. The tamer of all these divine beasts marched up to the most divine of them all and crouched, face stern with anger.

“Just because you can take a form that gives you hands doesn’t mean you're allowed to use them to go wherever you and your little posse want to!” It was a sight to see the Warrior of Light scold what was basically a god for breaking and entering. Even more so to see said god just whine in denial and flop her head down like, ears pinned back flat to appear pathetic. Something Halditar simply wasn’t having.

“Oh, don’t give me that shite, I know you have a domain and a nice little castle to retreat to whenever you want! Go there if you want to be inside on human furniture until your space in the stable is done, I’m not stopping you! Now get! Shoo, all of you!”

In defiance the Kamuy of Nine Tails did not use any of her mythical powers. She used the tool provided to her by nature. Opening her mouth and releasing an iconic, loud fox-like scream G’raha swore he could hear the ‘no!’ within. The scream resonated so deeply with the other Kamuy they all reared their heads back and howled in turn, creating a chorus of the divine. Though some might be moved by such melodious prowess, their owner just huffed and collapsed on the couch, accepting that this was a losing battle for the time being.

“Fuckin’ pricks…” G’raha bit back a laugh as he observed Halditar’s pouting profile, even as she reached back and tangled her fingers within the fur of the auspice that started this. He settled next to her, careful of his coffee as the Lunar Kamuy Mochi came sniffing curiously, a hand placed over top to protect his vaunted drink.

“Perhaps it might be wise to hire a few extra hands to speed up the addition to the stable… barn.” He suggested with a slight correction. Halditar nodded, sighing as her fingers tapped at seemingly random. A habit he knew was from she was going mental math.

“Aye, I’ll make a trip to Gridanian’s carpenter guild,” her expression softened, and she looked to him, blue eyes so warm behind her glasses. “Would you like to come with me? We can make a little trip of it, try that new bakery I mentioned popped up and visit a few places.”

G’raha’s tail began to flick in excitement, ears perking up, before falling back into place. His excited smile twisted into something more apologetic. He really wished to say yes, even admitting as much, “But I won’t be home until much later. I wouldn't want your plans to be held up on my account.”

Before anymore excuses could fall from his lips, two large, familiar hands held on to the side of his face and forced him to look her right in the eyes. Her smile radiant, hair like a fiery halo, surrounding her in a glow like the way saints were painted in Ishgard. “Silly boy, I wouldn't have suggested it if I wasn’t fine with waiting! You’d never hold me up. So won’t you come?”

G’raha knew Halditar could feel how warm his face got. He certainly did, burning and likely pinker than he would ever want to be seen. But with such kind assurances she didn’t mind, he beamed and nodded that she would come. Small though the trip would be, time spent with his hero was always an adventure he could cherish.

TL Notes:

Okay so this counts as a TL note for both the tagline and his first voice line. So, for context, this line is said in his trailer right after a line where he wonders what he and his fellow Riders will use their powers for, since he considers this situation to be a test. This gave me the impression that his tagline is related to those questions. I’ve opted to TL 俺だけでいい as “only I should…” because he gives me the impression he’d rather be tormented by those thoughts than having others think about them— hence my “ignorance is bliss” wording in the full, voiced line. The second half would apply to the others, not to him.

世話を焼く can also mean “to meddle with [people’s] business”, but considering his brotherly & caring nature, “taking care” felt more in-character. Also, I replaced Kamui & Araki’s names with “his teammates” so it’d be less wordy.

So it’s not just repairing bikes because いじり can also be used to mean “tinkering with” or “playing around with”, but it was easier to sum up with “repairing” so… think of him more as a dude who knows bikes and doing stuff with them.

Kamui was exhausted and found solace in resting his head on Saku's lap. It took a lot to actually tire him out, and Saku's presence was the only place he'd express his weariness, leaving himself completely vulnerable. Kamui even felt comfortable enough to slowly let his eyes close and drift off to sleep for a bit.

Days were calm. It was like a blissful dream he was living just being with his lover, the light of his full days. Most times Saku and Kamui were at each other hip. A power couple to define polar opposites attracting to each other, one most called a criminal and the other innocent. They loved each other none the less. Each day was something new for them. Though now the honey moon stage has slow down and a domestic life was becoming their future.

Not that either was complaining it just met they were comfortable with each other. So much has happened where it only made sense to have this level. In the midst of relaxation, Saku was just reading his book tucked in the bed with his back pressed to the headboard. He was about to flip a page when he felt a weight on him. Tilting his head he lifted his book to see Kamui. Pure adoration filled him as eyes gazed in softness closing the cover and setting it to the side. Lips curled in a soft smile as he gave his love all the attention, "long day darling?"

Finger tips were delicate as they moved to stroke Kamui's hair soothing the silky strands. Gentle hums leaked out his lips as soaking in such a calming moment. God he really loved this man. Not able to contain himself he leaned down and kissed to the others temple. Soon he felt the stable breathing. Curious he peaked and noticed, did he fall asleep. This only made Saku gush on the inside. Lifting the covers he tucked Kamui in all snug, grabbing his book and going back to reading. A lone hand petting Kamui in small touches.

Just how did he get into this mess?

Kamui kept on asking himself just that as pain and pleasure blended into one. Fingers curled inside him, stretched open for who knows which time. Sparks ignited again, as well as ache. He tossed head to side, grinded teeth and hissed. Sweat rolled down temple, shivers down spine. Fingers eased out a bit, skimmed over rim. Ecstasy made him tremble and groan; but also grind back into ounce of bliss he was given, like pain and obscenity didn’t deteriorate in slightest. Kamui squirmed around but couldn’t break free; hands tied above head, he couldn’t move them an inch. He snapped eyes shut and prayed for his captor to show mercy and finally give him what he wished for. Kamui knew he was aware of just what he desperately craved for but purposely ignored it.

Friction sickened and overwhelmed in same breath. He wished for ecstasy to tone down and never end.

It all started about an hour ago. Another earthquake struck. No Seals were nearby so Kamui had no option but to try deal with Dragons of Earth on his own. He rushed to the epicenter and was met with no other than Fuuma; or at least his new cruel self. After brief fighting, one-sided yelling and pleading for answers he’ll never get and destruction of surrounding buildings (courtesy of his inability to raise a Kekkai) Kamui defeated once more got slammed against the wall. This is the end – or so Kamui thought back then. However instead of being injured further he was touched in very… libertine way. Aside being clearly amorous it’s not to say touch wasn’t ruthless; certainly did hurt, especially given previous injuries. There wasn’t a thing about Fuuma that didn’t ache in some way, that’s cruel reality Kamui was forced to get accustomed to. By the combined powers of all the primal doggos I got the ultimate doggo: Kamuy of the Nine Tails.  I feel so proud of myself for getting all of the primal mounts during the same expansion they came out on.  In the past I would get primal mounts via unsynced farming.

Now to continue farming Seiryu for weapons and to look forward to see what kind of new primal mounts will come out in Shadowbringers!
