The last flock of events was certainly a tremendous shock for Sakura, especially as soon as she returned from her homeland: she did manage to be away from the monastery due to some commissions she needed to take care, but as she returned to her beloved friends and family, a very displeasing view stood out before her eyes: the ambush on the monastery and the battle to retake it had not been kind and the entire place was left in a state of ruin. An horrible feeling pervaded Sakura’s chest as soon as she set foot in the camps organized by the refugees, many were survivors, many were left behind.
Yet, aside from all the stones, debris and dust, the first thought that popped in the petite priestess mind was only one: where is my family? Heart raced like crazy as she searched throughout each camp, goldenish eyes seeking for help, as she desperately asked information about her family, especially about the one person that she already has lost once. She called their names, plead for them to be called back, hope that their faces would suddenly appear, in the middle of the crowd.
M O T H E R
She glimpsed her figure and she waited no more than a second to immediately reach for her arms, curling in an embrace that seemed eternal. “Mother..!!” she cried out her name, aloud, but she calmed herself quickly enough as soon as Mikoto’s lips met with her forehead, instilling a great sense of peace inside her chest, where once dwelt anxiety and worry.
“You’re safe” she murmured as she pushed her face against her breast, seeking for shelter and love, but soon after she lift her gaze to watch her face as she continued to question, “Where were you? And Takumi? Ryoma?” she let her worries flooded like an uncontrolled dam, hoping that Mikoto would soothe her preoccupations, “Are they safe?”
the dawn will come

The ball was tossed to Katarina, who proved herself quite at ease during the first question, or at least that was what Sakura felt from her expression and tone –she seems so brave, I wish I could be like her! she thought to herself while admiring the interrogation of the purple-haired girl: with one word, Katarina seemed to have lure the attention of the silent captive, who suddenly regained the use of his tongue, blathering something about the identity of the students they presumably wanted to capture.
His voice cracked as his neck got in touch with the sharp blade of the Blue Lions student, quivering a little while continuing his speech: apparently, he was waiting for someone, since he mentioned a meeting spot, but what did it have to do with seminaries and trainings? Something was clearly missing and Sakura was even more perplexed than before; if he was speaking the truth, there was something that wasn’t written on the flier maybe or the whole seminary wasn’t exactly organized as they expected it to be.
Many thoughts furrowed the mind of the petite priestess, especially now that the couple have managed to seize the enemy and prove themselves quite worthy of doing an interrogation. Quite, since they still didn’t reach a full confession from the man with frozen hands and feet; they certainly had to push more, maybe risk with more specific questions, but who would take responsibility to further the interrogation with that mysterious man who claimed to be an instructor?
“If Katarina didn’t go at the ‘meeting spot’ that you mentioned.. it could have been anyone in her place?” her voice was low, but she took the courage to speak again, anticipating any possible reply from the hostage. “Sure. Whoever participate at the seminary” and he mentioned the thing that made the petite priestess realized that maybe it was all… staged? She wasn’t sure yet and as she exchanged a quick glance with Katarina, she swiftly returned her gaze on the man. “Is there someone else with you?” she carefully asked, pondering each word: it was clear now, questions were the key to actually understand the mystery behind those actions, “No, just me” the man replied, moving his hands a little as he probably started to feel the stinging grip of the ice.
The meeting spot.. Sakura paused the questions for a moment, trying her best to recall where exactly Katrina was attacked by that man, but in all honesty, the petite priestess was walking through the field, so she wasn’t aiming towards a precise direction in that moment. But Katarina might know..

The idea of the gift was very sudden; so sudden that even the petite priestess wasn’t actually ready to concretize this present: a bouquet of flowers? She would certainly love them, but maybe it was a bit obvious as a gift. Handmade food? Definitely something that she would appreciate, but Sakura didn’t recall her specific tastes and she really didn’t want to make a bad impression on her. A decorations for her room? It could be a very simple present, but could be anything, really, and they didn’t even know how her room was. Or at least, Sakura has never been there, maybe Takumi had the privilege to be invited.
Too many ideas popped in the priestess’ mind, but the suggestion given by her brother certainly was a more concrete help for her. “Oh sure, the market area!” she suddenly recalled the vivacious zone, remembering the large variety of products that they sold. “I’m sure we can find something good there” she vividly replied, already taking Takumi under the arm and directing with him towards the path that led to the market area.
Few moments and the couple reached the destination; the air was filled with different scents, voices, colours, everything around seemingly was a warm invitation to stop by and admire the several merchandise offered. One thing for sure struck the interest of the petite princess –teas! There were a multitude of types, each one differed from the others for the colours, the aroma, the packaging, but they all had one thing in common: all of them were absolutely tempting for Sakura.
While still arm in arm with Takumi, she gently nudged him towards the teas’ stand, index finger pointing some cute packing exposed on the table: “Mum is a fan of herbal teas!” she exclaimed, hundred percent certain of her last statement, “It could be a part of the gift” she giggled, wondering if they could organize a little tea party to deliver their present(s).

Sakura felt a little discouraged while hearing the last words from Ena, but the plead sounded so real that the petite priestess couldn’t just let it go that easily: she was indeed right, it was a mere painting and there was nothing out of the ordinary to start the investigation, aside… the hole, obviously: it still was open, slightly smaller than before, but still pulsating and emitting a very obscure and bizarre aura from its depths. The voice was definitely coming from there and the only way to discover the truth was… entering the hole.
Observing the other girl getting closer, Sakura too decided to take the courage to approach the strange hole once again, stopping by at the same distance as Ena: there were some strange vibrations all around the area, clearly something was going to happen soon if they didn’t manage to act first and since the situation was becoming more and more confused, the pink-haired girl settled her mind to take action.
“Miss Ena.. I’m going in!” she timidly said, though stepping over the other girl to get closer to the mysterious hole, which suddenly became slightly larger than before, as if it felt the presence of the priestess. Sakura, once again, was facing the large hole, but this time she carefully observe the situation before actually proceeding into the void: there was a static noise coming from it, but no more voices were heard from for a few minutes now.
Roll: 1d20 = 19!
She waited for a moment, catching some odd lightning waves scattering inside the hole, then, when it seemed to be less chaotic and charged, the petite priestess stretched an arm, touching the surface of the hole, then a hand, slipping inside the hole – a numb feeling first, then it felt like there was another open space on the other side, immediately after the magic circle. She took a long breath before continuing. Now or never, she thought to herself as she practically rushed herself inside the portal, closing her eyes as primordial defensive mechanism.
. . .
She waited for few moments before turning her eyes open again, but when she did it, she felt overwhelmed: it did was another dimension, but… that was the exact photocopy of the mansion of the lady, except from the fact that, nobody was there at her arrival. No one, just a desolate hall with a large staircase leading down, to the main entrance.
“W-where am I..?”

After the latest events, there were much more visitors at the main infirmary of the monastery and among all the people, a slim silhouette stood in the middle of the room, walking back and forth towards each bed and each chair, doing her best to accomplish her duty to aid every single person that has come to rest and recover.
“Please, treat your wounds with this concoction” she chirped to a man, then she turned herself and walked towards the counter, ready to pick some bandages to apply; before doing so, she collected some more vials with bright liquids inside, almost similar to water and she wetted the bandages with them, accurately putting the right dose on each bandage. After that, she returned to one of her patient, smiling genuinely.
“I’ll put the bandages, please, hold still a little longer” she reassured them, gently applying the rest of the medications. She then proudly stared at the leg, satisfied with the outcome of the treatment. “You’ll be fine in few days!” she nodded as she accompanied the person on the ground, placing a hand on their in order to help. It was another busy day at the infirmary and instead of taking care of the church’s duties, she decided to spend some more time in the place where everyone gathered after the several expeditions made in the previous weeks, tired, baffled and begging for cures and attentions. She utterly felt at home there, especially when it came to taking care of sick people; she was a healer, a cleric, after all, and since she didn’t manage to take part to some of the expeditions, she decided to put herself in the service of the more in need.
After a while, another person appeared in the infirmary, though this time it didn’t appear to be an injured person at all: it was a young man, dressed like a cleric or some sort – Sakura wasn’t sure, since their dressings were so different, probably due to their different origins. She simply waved a hand, before saying anything else.
“Welcome to the infirmary” she politely said, bowing her head before adding, “Are you in need or in search of something?”

Sakura listened to Xander with particular attention, weighing up each word he added to his descriptions, figuring out in her own mind all the scenes that the blondish man was accurately relating: strange apparitions, unsettling reactions and unpredictable happenings. Everything seemed so mysterious yet so mystic and unreasonably fictitious, but the dread she saw in the victims’ eyes was real and she believed in every single word that leaked from Xander’s lips –he was telling the truth, nothing was different from what she has seen up until now.
“Maybe there’s some kind of black magic behind those disappearances?” the petite priestess attempted an hypothesis, but she knew as well that without concrete clues, she could say whatever she wanted, but nothing would change the fate of their poor companions who were clearly under the effect of a curse of some sort: the paranoidal behaviour wasn’t something that common and it could be related to heavy situations, like wars or serious outbreaks, but there in the Adrestia Empire there was no such occurrence that could develop a reaction like that. The black magic’s thoughts grew lounder in her head.
“Maybe someone here isn’t… pleased about our patrols?” she actually didn’t exactly know why there were so many troops around this part of the continent –after all, she was only there for taking care of some business of the Church, nothing really connected with the diplomacy of the empire. She gave a gloom look around: there were different knights, soldiers, people that were probably ready to depart for patrols, but many of them weren’t exactly ‘calm’: some of them were briefly shaking, doing their best to hide the tremors; some others walked back and forth with no apparent reason, keeping their head down and avoiding any type of contacts; many others seemed relaxed, but who knows what might hide inside their minds and chests?
“They need a person who could instil confidence in them” she still stared at them, wondering about their daily lives before they actually decided to be there, on this mission. “Would you guide them during this night patrol?” the pink-haired girl timidly asked, turning her gaze to Xander and before he could even answer something, she added, “I’ll be glad to assist you with this expedition, if you let me be part of it” she didn’t want to sound insistent or annoying, but she clearly wanted to be with them and with him.
Tumblr media
“I need to gather some herbs too, it could be the perfect occasion for picking up ingredients from a place I don’t usually happen to visit so often –if not ever at all, heh” she lastly admitted, making her best to convince him of her genuine intentions. As a matter of true facts, the Church of Seiros was also doing its research and Sakura was a mere emissary sent to gather information, if she had the permission to do so.

After the bizarre adventure Sakura had in one of the mysterious underground of the monastery, the petite priestess promised to herself not to venture again around those creepy and desolate places, but… what if the mysterious Abyss held an actual precious resource underneath their tunnels? The pink-haired princess has heard about the Abyss, but very little her knowledge pushed through: there supposedly was a large city underneath the monastery and aside the vast curiosity, Sakura knew that the tunnels were quite intricated, far more complex and difficult than the last dungeon she happened to visit.
Yet, a pinch of concern leaked from her thoughts as she ventured nearby that night: she always passed by, observing guards changing turns and leaving the gate as it was a very important portal to the unknown, actually very rarely leaving it unattended and perhaps that night, the coincidence could work on her favour.
It was very late at night, Sakura wasn’t used to stroll around that hour, but something inside her chest told her that it was the perfect occasion to sneak in: the gate was left alone, no guards were to be seen in the nearby and with one last big sigh, the petite priestess leapt towards the entrance, gently pushing the door to assure it was closed and blocked, but to much of her surprise, it was open. Sakura blinked twice before doing anything else, then she gave one last glance around her – to be sure that no one was in sight – and she slipped through the door, doing her best not to pry open the door in any way –she didn’t want to leave any traces.
As soon as she slipped through, the door shut behind her and she found herself in a pitch black tunnel; or rather, almost pitch black, since not too far from where she was there was a light, a torch possibly, held by a knight, a Seiros Knight perhaps, a guard of some sort? Her adventure was already finishing apparently, but before she could say anything or move from their sight, the man spoke with a low voice, recommending Sakura to leave.
“I-I’m here for.. searching notes for the Church” she did her best to make up an excuse, but she clearly wasn’t very good at it. “I didn’t mean to disturb your patrol Sir..” she bowed, actually not sure if the man was capable to see her from that far and due to the obscurity: she decided to walk closer, giving the possibility to herself to actually understand who he was. “I thought that exploring the tunnels during this hour of the night won’t cause any trouble to the guards” she timidly admitted, ready to be scolded, but deep in her heart she hoped he wouldn’t be an enemy or an obstacle.
Tumblr media
“Why are you still on duty, Sir?” her naiveness was adorable, but her spontaneity was even greater.

As Sakura heard her response, her lips curved into a sad smile, turning to observe some horses nearby, some of them ready to depart for the night patrol, some of them still lingering because they refused to be touched or prepared; it was clearly unusual to see such behaviour, especially in front of experienced and capable knights. Even Sakura couldn’t understand such bearing: she knew a lot about horses, she learnt many information thanks to Céline, but she also conducted some studies on her own and among all the knowledge she developed, she couldn’t find a reasonable cause of this behaviour.
“I’m truly concern too..” she looked away to refocus her attention on Celica, “But if you’re going out for patrolling, I’ll be glad to accompany you!” she offered herself, rising her hands playfully, “Maybe there is something in the herb they eat or maybe it’s the smell of some flowers” she pondered, listing some possible options, though returning her thoughts on one thing: the Southern Church. This might as well have to do something with the bizarre reactions of the horses.
“I’ll follow you by foot, if you don’t mind my company” she lastly added, curling her lips in a slight smile, since she wasn’t truly sure about her hypothesis: if it wasn’t due to the herbs or flowers, what could possibly be? Magic could certainly change the behaviour of animals, but if that so, could it be that some enemies were hiding around and cast their spells on them without getting noticed? Unrealistic. She shrugged off the thought of her mind, then she returned to Celica.
Tumblr media
“Whenever you’re ready please, lead the way, I’ll be quietly following” and she would have taken the opportunity to check the path for any curious or unusual herbs on the ground –whatever strange that could catch her eyes, anything could possibly be a threat in a territory in turmoil.

As Sakura heard of Takumi’s role at the academy, a genuine grin appeared on her lips, as she was certain that he would take care of the archery lessons: he was a great teacher, in fact, he has been her teacher for their whole childhood, tutoring her through games and little tricks –everything an older brother should do to gain the favour of his little sister.
“I’ll be looking forward to participate in your lesson then” she giggled, already knowing that she would be probably a regular guest at his trainings; in the end, she still had lot to learn from him and becoming a part of his class could be also a perfect excuse to spend more time with him too. “I’m so glad to have you here, Takumi” she softened her voice, hands reaching for his, gently grabbing them in a tender embrace: it has been so long she hasn't felt that touch, so long that she still couldn’t believe her fingers. The very same sensation came only from another encounter she made at the monastery…
“Have you seen Mother? She's surprisingly joined the monastery as well” she still felt a bit stiff in talking so freely about her being there, but it was a very concrete person among them now. Then, a sudden stroke of genius beamed in her mind: “Maybe we can make her a gift!” her eyes shone in a light that beautifully resembled golden nuggets, while her smile widened in a soft crease. “What do you think?”

Gathering herbs for her tea-experimentations was something very common for Sakura, but doing it with one of the most beloved part of her family was something that she has never had the chance to try: even when they were together in Hoshido, Ryoma has been always quite busy with family affairs and the petite priestess absolutely understood the importance of his job –he was predestined to rule their homeland, so he needed to learn as much as he could, especially when he was younger. Sakura knew it and she respected the will of their father, but how much she missed those idyllic and simple moments with her siblings…
Tumblr media
She suddenly turned, staring at Ryoma while he was wandering around another patch of grass, observing flowers and probably putting into practice all the things that Sakura has just told him about medical herbs: it was a rare moment, something that she would surely not forget that easily, since the more she stared at the scenery, the more she felt at peace with herself and her past. Not everything went as planned, many suffered and many ceased to fight, but she never stopped believing in what she described as true bond between the loved ones –Ryoma was the perfect example of that.
She closed her eyes in a quiet and content expression, enjoying the serene atmosphere surrounding them and eyeing other herbs that could be of use in their tea-session: not so far from where she was, she spotted a small patch of fennel leaves, which were renowned for relieve ailments such as bloating and indigestion –as well as having anti-inflammatory properties. This could come in handy when he trains, Sakura thought to herself as she picked some leaves to put in thein the wicker basket and when she lift her gaze to spot her brother, she suddenly heard her name to be called by him.
She immediately fretted her pace to reach his position, sharing a genuine and satisfied smile as she nodded at his question. “You are absolutely right!” she eagerly replied, grazing the petals of the flower with her index finger, while putting the fennel in the basket with the other hand. “I really like chamomile’s flowers, thank you for finding them Ryoma” she complimented him, a light pat on the shoulder and she finished her sentence. “I think that we have enough leaves and flower to put into the tea bags” she stated, looking down in the wicker basket, “I can take care of the preparation of the tea bags. Would you mind taking care of a little fire? It will be our heater for the teapot!” she giggled, hoping to make sure that their little tea party would be good enough for her brother to fully enjoy her company.
While she waited for him, she also decided to take care of the horses: she pulled put some carrots and apples from the bag on the saddle and while the creature enjoy their meal, she began to cut into little pieces leaves and flower, in order to put them inside the tea bags; it would normally take some days for the herbs to exsiccate, but during some botanic lessons she took when she was in Hoshido, she learnt a special technique to induce drying more quickly –using very low temperature. So, after she finely reduced the pieces and put them inside the tiny bags, she cast the spell Blizzard on all of them, making them quickly reach the perfect condition to be used as tea bags.

Ballista. It has been a while since Sakura have heard that name: the last time was during a lecture, or rather, a possible lecture, since the petite priestess didn’t manage to fully participate into the seminar due to an urgent duty and the lack of time and possibility to give a proper time to dedicate for learning the secrets behind that mysterious weapon. As a matter of facts, Sakura was actually a bit scared of it, since it was quite huge and since it was a very dangerous and gigantic bow; yet, precisely because it was an arch, she nurtured an interest that would bring her the learn more about the late news she heard about the maintenance of the above mentioned weapon.
However, the moment she finally decided to reach the place where the ballista was, a catastrophic announcement was made throughout the monastery, alerting the entire population inside the buildings: a malfunctioning of the structure led the weapon to release from its position and even if it was a mere inanimate object, the danger it could provoke was hugely high and all the members of the Garreg Mach monastery was trying their best to avoid any further damage or disaster.
While walking towards the place where the ballista was last seen, a fateful encounter made the little princess blinked twice before actually spoke the words. “Kamui?!” she sounded incredulous, but the excitement was true as she drew closer to him, “I’m so happy to see you!” she looked happy, but at the same time she realized the situation at the monastery was quite serious, “Have you heard of the infamous ballista?” her tone became worried, fretted, but she did her best to stay optimistic around him.
Then, a sudden crash got their fully attention. “I guess that… it found us” she weakly said, a bit anxious, but eager to protect all her friends at the monastery.

Pelleas’ natural spontaneity made Sakura realized that she wasn’t the only one there that didn’t have much experienced in the field of parenting: both of them quite seemed unexperienced and despite the good will, they still had a baby-alike creature in their hands and they had to do the best they could to make it feel safe, healthy and calm. Yet, the light joke the blue-haired man made certainly did manage to make the petite priestess laugh a little, shaking a little the fake baby in her arms –luckily for them, not making the riot start, once again.
“I’ve got you, don’t worry” she replied with a natural smile, nodding at the proposal of Pelleas, “We can patiently wait for you there” and she indicated a small couch nearby, conveniently placed in the area where the project was taking place. With one last nod of her head, the young priestess turned and reached the couch’s area, surprisingly finding out that there was more than a mere couch: in fact, right in front of the couch, there was a large colourful carpet filled with toys of every kind.
This could be perfect for making it play, she thought to herself as she drew closer to the space and carefully place the baby on the soft ground: at first it seemed a bit confused, but then it started to crawl around with no apparent aim, if not the pure joy and curiosity of exploring a new place. Sakura gently sat herself on the ground too, with her legs bent on the side and placed one above the other, her gaze fixated on the baby creature: it was a very pacific and idyllic scenery, one that she would actually hope to live in a future with a her own kid.
She sighed, relaxing her arms as she enjoyed the view and so about half an hour passed, while the fake baby crawled around the carpet with uncertain motion and making cute guttural verses; this, until a familiar figure came back. “Pelleas!” Sakura chirped as she saw the man approaching, “What have you brought to us?” she quizzically looked at the bowls placed on a small table nearby the carpet: she listened to the brief explanation that the blue-haired man made to present the food and with a genuine smile on her lips, she replied with enthusiasm to what it would be their next task –feeding the baby.
“You did a very good job!” she exclaimed as she stood up again and got closer to the bowls of food, “We can even try different tastes” she giggled, picking up in her hands the first bowl, the one with chickpeas, and a small spoon, “Let’s start with this” she sounded a bit excited, but she quickly covered the emotion as she reached the baby’s location –nearby the edge of the carpet. As a first attempt, she wanted to let the baby stay on the carpet, seeing that it somewhat got used to it quite easily and as she sat in front of him, she placed the bowl in between her and the fake baby, sinking the spoon for the first taste.
Tumblr media
“Alrighty, shall we have the first sip?” she sweetly said to the baby, while rising the spoon full of hummus, but as she drew her arm closer to the fake baby’s face, the creature made a firm movement with the head, intentionally avoiding the spoon.
“Hmm” Sakura looked puzzled, following the mouth of the baby with the spoon, but not obtaining the desired result. “What am I doing wrong?”

As soon as Mikoto pulled out the tea-set, Sakura’s eyes shone in nostalgia and amazement: it was the very same tea-set that her mother usually brought during special occasions, but among all these special situations, the petite priestess figured out that being with her children was for her the most special occasion above them all.
“I found it while walking around the monastery” she casually chirped, proud to have found such magical place to share with her, “It’s not very known and this is what it makes it special: its tranquillity and its comforting aura” she lastly added, giving another pleasant glance over the tea-set: everything looked so perfect right now, nothing could be more perfect than this.
With a delicate smile, Sakura gently shifted her gaze from the teapot to Mikoto, admiring her elegant and fine silhouette softly rested on the chair: she has missed her so much and yet she was standing right there, in front of her eyes like she never actually disappeared from her life. It was so surreal, but the more she stared at her, the more she felt safe and protected again, as if she has never left her kingdom in Hoshido.
Her gaze returned on the table, observing the wicker basket in front of Mikoto, while she was choosing the blend to use with her teapot: her playful attitude made the petite priestess even more joyous, since it reminded her of her childhood –she always used to make her laugh with her mischievous tone, it was a special body language in between the two of them, just the two of them.
The tea was chosen and the comment made the petite priestess blush a little, “I’m learning from the best model of all” she giggled, hinting a smile at her and picking up the blend from her hands, “A fair choice, let me take care of the water first!” and she turned to set the water inside the teapot, magically turning it on with a portable heating pod. “There, it will take just few minutes, then we can add the blend” she proudly announced, pleased by the perfect functioning of the item.
Tumblr media
“I missed these moments with you Mom..” that was sudden, but she timidly said it with a hint of nostalgia in her tone, while waiting for the pod to heat up. “This is so unreal, yet so sweet and tender for my heart”

Her steps are wobbly as she approaches, the half finished drink not her first of the night. A new year was a time for change? So she would start by being a little kinder to her former enemies. After all, they were all on the same team now right?
And Sakura was just so adorable.
"A very happy new year to you Sakura!" Camilla placed a kiss on the girl's cheek, and then another on the girl's forehead. After all, she regarded Sakura with (almost) as much affection as her own siblings. It wasn't her fault she was born on the wrong side of the bottomless canyon.
The celebrations has been very joyous and merry and despite her little absence for taking care of some former errands at the homeland, she couldn't renounce the company of some of the many friends she had at the monastery. Among them, even though the past has not been very pleasent with them, there was Camilla, the beautiful older sister and princess of Nohr, a woman with whom Sakura had actually the plasure to share many cute and interesting events, especially evenings.
"A-Ah, Camilla" she was a little startled by the attempt, but it was mostly due to the embarassing vicinity of their faces and lips, "Happy new year to you too" she merrily added, helping out the slightly drunk woman while placing an arm around her waist, "I'm always happy to share these little moments together" she was always amazed by the delicacy and tenderness of Camilla, making her believe that maybe all the bad things that happened in the past, wasn't exactly due to them.
"Let's hope it's a good year for real" she lastly chirped, resting her head on her body, feeling the spirit of the festivities and letting herself go and rest by Camilla's side; she would always be there for her, after all.

The immediate reaction of Ena luckily managed to save the incautious petite priestess, who came out safe and sound, with no sign of injury or concussion –she got away with no repercussions. As she tried to catch her breath, Sakura shifted her gaze towards Ena, delicately grasping the arms of the young girl. “Thank you..” she whispered as she lowered her gaze in guilty, knowing that she had been reckless to act that way, “It was.. odd. It felt like it was somewhat calling me” she added, recalling the strange sensation that she felt soon after the hand was dragged inside the hole.
Right, the hole!
She immediately turned to check, but the opening was slowly fading in front of their eyes, but the energy pulsating from it was persisting, the dark aura was growing stronger, despite no visible track of it could be seen or perceived. While the petite priestess stared at the hole, the area around them was silent, almost surreal –even the landlady was baffled yet quiet, she probably has witnessed other events of this kind, but she strangely kept any possible reaction to herself.
:: Save me ::
A low voice echoed in the room, almost as it was a call, a plead, coming from an unworldly place, but to be more attentive and observant, the sound seemingly came… from the painting. Sakura, whose eyes were still fixated on the painting and on the hole, frowned her expression as she wondered what in the world was happening in that exact moment. Then, another plead.
:: Help me, please ::
It clearly was a request of help, but from who? The petite priestess turned to face Ena, offering the same puzzled expression from before. “Did you hear that too?” she asked, not sure if the voice was meant for both of them. “The painting… is asking for help?” she returned her gaze of the artwork, staring at the face of the young noblewoman. “What shall we do?”
