He could hear the ticking of the clock. Each second that went by with a slow tic-toc. It made his head hurt, the way his heart seemed to follow the beat of the seconds, well every other second. But it was silent, the silence apart from the clock.

It was constricting, like his body was being squeezed in a vice, ribs barely holding up under the pressure. But he knew that it would slowly disappear again, the moment a touch smoothed against his own skin, the movement of clothing against clothing, the whisper of the cloth. But it wasn’t coming this time around, he couldn’t hear anything, but the clock and he could feel the pressure growing.

He tried to calm himself, taking deep slow breathes, in through his nose and out through parted lips. Letting the air escape, the warmth of it against his lower lip. It helped the constriction ease up a little, the tightness just disappearing a little, enough for him to shift on the bed from where he had woken up. He could feel from the coolness of the sheets that it was the middle of the night still, the room dark but then everything was dark these days and, in that instinct, in that brief moment of memories, the tightness came back again, and he choked.

Pushing the covers away, he swung his legs around, his feet settling down on to the ground as his fingers clenched at the edge of the mattress, the sheet bunching up beneath them.

He could do this.

Everyone said that he could.

But it didn’t stop the trembling from happening, the feeling of it started in his toes and crept up his legs, making them feel numb and cold as he shivered. Somewhere there was an open window, and he squeezed his eyes shut. He was told that it was a full moon tonight and while he couldn’t see the large globe in the sky, he knew that it was there, could almost feel her light as it danced across the room and his skin.

i've been looking for months for this sterek fic where derek gets sent to a bar (maybe owned by chris or peter? can't remember) where he's supposed to model for a photographer named theo (arranged by laura) and stiles separately gets sent to the same bar to go on a blind date with theo after he gets done with derek (arranged by lydia) but theo is late and both stiles and derek assume the other one is theo and they go home together and there's a bunch of misunderstandings about "first time" doing photography vs having sex and then they sleep together. i remember this so vividly but i can't find it lol thank you!!!!!

This was actually a bit of a difficult square for me, because I suck at bookmarking fics--even ones that I adore. But, perhaps it speaks for itself that this fic has stayed in the recesses of my brain for years since the first time that I read it.

And hopefully now, I will start bookmarking better...

Hi I’m trying to find a fic I read a while ago. All I remember is stiles gets tortured and blinded my Gerald argent in the basement. The alpha pack arrive and aiden finds about stiles, even though he’s not going to school with these rest of the pack, but aiden leaves him alone and doesn’t report it to Duecalion, but Kali kidnapped Stiles and brings him to the bank. Aiden tried to stop Kali and tell Deuc about stiles being blind buts it’s too late.

Deuc loses over the fact they kidnapped Stiles, someone who was blinded by Gerald, just like he was.

That’s all I can remember can you help me find it. Thank you!

most of my experience reading teen wolf fics comes from trying to befriend a girl in the diversity office first year of college who recc’d me stuff like cornerstone so I’m unfortunately ill-prepared to give you advice here

And to all these I just want to say:

This entire scene isn't even the most Sterek scene but it's so important! After the get out of the truck and Derek is impaled by a beserker, Derek literally tells Stiles more than once to go save Scott because Stiles keeps stopping and looking back, clearly not wanting to leave Derek, because he knows Derek is dying and will be gone by the time Stiles gets back.

The look on his face as he gazes at Derek is pure anguish and being torn between staying with Derek or going to save Scott. Scott, who is Stiles' brother and the second most important person in Stiles' life (his dad being the first) is literally now sharing that spot with Derek.

But sure Jan, there was zero chemistry between them. 🙄

How is it that we are not talking about this scene more. This was as close to a hug we could get…And also for reasons

1. As soon as it starts to look like Liam can control his wolf Stiles looks at Derek , who in turn is holding Liam’s hand (even with no werewolf strength to back him up) just so Stiles is not hurt. He once again puts himself between a potential threat and his mate Stiles. Even tho Stiles can probably see that Derek is not hurt he looks at Derek as soon as he looks away from Liam.

2. Derek looks equal parts surprised and relived . He has made peace with the fact that he is not going to come out of this situation alive and when he is saved yet again by Stiles (“The sun, the moon,, the truth). He can’t believe it. Also Stiles (and Liam ) is ok. STILES has once again protected him when he expected to be the one doing the protecting bit (making them equals).

3. When Braeden says Derek’s name , he does not say HE is ok. He says that they are all ok (he also looks like he is cursing himself a little internally for not being the one to save the others. Mind u he already has told Braeden at this point that he thinks her a better shot than him.)

4, And last but not the least, once Derek has verbally said that They are ok, it is Stiles who touches his shoulder…Anchoring Him again (cause clearly both of them are a bit shaken). He literally strokes Derek’s arm clearly comforting him (Here i am going to assume that Stiles knows that Derek has lost his power. Scott usually does not keep Derek’s secrets and so i am presuming that he has told Stiles about Derek’s condition). ALSO STILES LOOKS LIKE HE FORGOT TO BREATH AND HAVING MADE SURE THAT DEREK IS OK JUST LET OUT A SIGH OF RELIEF (he looks like he stopped breathing for a few moments till he made sure that Derek is ok). 

What is the purpose of this whole scene and how it was directed if the whole time Teen Wolf is trying to get rid of Sterek?

P.S. - This also makes more sense when we see that once Derek gets injured and Stiles sees him for the first time, bloody and on the floor as he exists the van he FREEZES …Cause this time there is no relief …this time Stiles could not save Derek and he is LOST for words and actions!

I saw someone refer to Steter as a comedy relief duo earlier and it just completely sent me, because that's just... so far from what Steter is, in canon?

As I'm currently rewatching the show, it has shot up into being my favorite ship on the show because of the gravitas it has.

It's a ship that highlights Stiles' fearlessness in such intriguing ways, in canon. From the boy who yelled at a feral Alpha in the school, to their first face to face meeting at the hospital, when Peter recognizes him, knows him, acknowledges him ("You must be Stiles", as though Stiles' reputation as the one who figures things out proceeds him, as he is the first one to put together that Peter is the Alpha).

There's nothing comedic about the scene on the lacrosse field, when Stiles is kneelng beside Lydia's unconscious form and Peter... for reasons beyond comprehension... decides to curl his claws beneath Stiles' chin and guide him up. Not grab him by the arm and haul him up, not command him, not demand.

This is... sensual, filled with tension, and I don't even necessarily mean the sexual tension (even though the imagery of Stiles kneeling before Peter and Peter grasping his chin is something that I find hard to not see a sexual read on).

Peter kidnaps Stiles into the parking garage to force the boy to track down Derek and, sure, the "His username is Allison? His password is also Allison?" - "Still want him in your pack?" is absolutely iconic and is comedic... how do you boil that entire exchange down to "comedy relief"?

The way Peter offers Stiles the bite - Peter, who so far, only took whatever he wanted, never asked or offered - and doesn't force when Stiles says "No". Even the way Peter catches Stiles on the lie is a moment of tension and revelation on Stiles' part. The way Peter acknowledges Stiles as the clever one.

The season 1 finale? When Stiles sets the survivor of a horrific house fire on fire? Absolute riot, huh. It's vicious, it's cruel - it's everything.

And when Peter is resurrected? Sure, Stiles sarcastically asks if someone can kill him again and sure, Peter snarks about living in a cave system. But even in that episode, these brief comedic moments are absolutely overshadowed by the way Peter and Stiles work together, figure out what the vault is made of, then call Scott to warn him and Derek, by finishing each other's sentences. Two brilliant minds working together, on the same wavelength.

The next time they interact is when Peter tells Stiles about Paige, explains what the blue eyes mean. It's one of the more heavy and serious moments in the season, aside from all the death scenes. It's a big lore drop and character background on both Peter and Derek. And it's Stiles this information is shared with. It's a serious moment and even as Peter tells it all, Stiles doesn't trust, sees past the silver tongue and that too is part of the appeal.

When Peter and Stiles work together to save Cora's life in the hospital, while the Alpha Pack is hunting them down? Blind trust. Stiles asks Peter to help him and Peter doesn't even ask, much less quip, he just follows Stiles' lead and they work together.

Now, I'll admit, I haven't seen seasons 3B through 6 in six years and hey, maybe they'll be a real Abbott and Costello in season 4 and I'm just not remembering it, but damn it all to hell if the first half of the show doesn't present them as two clever minds challenging each other, with a growth from terror and pain to respect and teamwork.

I understand and respect not liking a ship, but I am genuinely baffled when people deliberately misinterpret a canon to suit their needs. Always makes me wonder what alternate reality's version of the show they were watching, surely not the same as me.

Love the way you casually gloss over the fact that this happened after Stiles told Scott that he had reason to believe that he might be responsible for the bad shit happening in town but Scott was like "no way, pal, couldn't be you". It's almost like Stiles warned Scott not to trust him but then Scott decided not to heed that warning...anyway, love what you're doing here.
