I was just thinking about the averno lyrics

when, in bittersummer, the averno musical, that love does end up breaking the main character’s heart when all his friends leave him behind. when the boys are still friends after all these years, when they haven’t broken each other’s hearts, when they’re still together, still a band, still breaking everyone’s hearts in the best way. when averno did break my heart and the hearts of so many people while the boys have only healed all of our hearts and made us feel seen.

the love of friendship can break your heart just as much as romantic love can because it’s just as powerful. admission of vulnerability does not doom a relationship, in fact it can strengthen it.

Thoughts on Bittersummer

Okay so

I like the opening song, it's folky but also got this underlining sadness. It's the perfect embodiment of the word bittersummer

I really like The Story

We haven't gotten a lot of like, Quinn's inner monalouge, and I just really enjoyed it

oh, I'm a suckered for love ballads

the Sun and Moon might be the most hopeful song in this whole musical

This love won't break your heart is as very hopeful and I love the harmonizes

the laughter!

so when I saw the title Round and Round, the first thing I thought was "Round and round the beacon we go" which made me think it would be happy like Sweet Willow

it was not

that high note in sidewalk chalk is so good

why are so many songs in this musical sad?

it's an Averno musical, so I was expecting to be sad, but this is a lot

I wanna hug all the characters

I love Twinkling Lights so very much

it's hopeful, it's warm, it's got a last campfire of camp vibe

Random Averno Headcanons

None of this is canon, these are just headcanons I have.

People think Quinn and Will are dating for about three days before Quinn and Will find out that people think this and make it VERY clear that they would never date each other.

Whenever Soren forgets that he needs to like, eat and drink and survive, Thea just taps him and gives him a look and he knows exactly why.

So Bea, Grace, and Meg all hang out under the willow tree and Bea brings cookies and juice and Grace says she’s “too old for that” and then proceeds to eat most of the cookies and drink too much juice.

Solar, Nova, Quinn, and Will all watch Disney movies together. Frequently.

Maya the Toad is actually a cryptid.

Solar had a twenty one pilots phase.

Kennedy once wrote an essay on what water tastes like for a class. They got an A, no one is really sure how, or what class it was.

Quinn owns so many pairs of funky socks.

Some Averno Fanfic staring Nova and Violet

Leaving

Violet stood at the edge of the forest, watching Nova. She was staring up at the castle up on the hill and the town beyond. 

 "Nervous?" Violet asked. Wild ones who chose to leave usually left alone, but Violet had offered to occupy Nova to the edge. This was a big step, a big change, and she didn't want the girl to take that first step completely alone.

 "A little." Nova looked from Violet to the castle and back again. "A lot."

 "You'll be fine. ANS is, well no one in town really likes that school, but that's a good thing."

 "What if I can't make friends?"

  "You'll make friends, Nova." Violet looked up at the castle. She wondered what Quinn was doing, if he had made any friends. "Can I ask a favour?" The words left her mouth before she realised what she was doing.

 "What kind of favour?" Violet bit her lip. She shouldn't. Nova would have a hard enough time adjusting, she didn't need anymore stress. But Violet worried about Quinn, as much as she tried not to. "There's a kid who goes to that school, his name is Quinn. We were friends before I left. Could you just, check on him? Make sure he's doing all right?" 

 "I'll try." Violet smiled. That would have to be enough.

 "That's all I ask. You have everything?"

 "Yes." Violet looked in her box. Among the clothes and jars of moss and acorns was a walkie talkie. It was half hidden, like Nova didn't want anyone to know she had it. Violet knew Nova wasn't supposed to have any contact with the wild ones once she left, but that didn't seem fair. This place had been her home, her family. Just because she wanted to see what was out beyond the trees didn't mean she should have to be abandoned by all she'd ever known. So Violet didn't say anything. "I think I'm ready."

 "Good luck Nova. May the wind be at your back and the path ahead full of adventure." Violet played a hand on her shoulder. "And remember, we love you." Nova nodded and walked off. Violet watched her until she couldn't see her anymore, then turned and headed back into the forest.
