honestly i feel like the bros just manifest their house on the surface and have toriel move in, so pretty much nothing changes. maybe the decor gets progressively more weird the more they live and explore the surface and they accumulate dozens of souvenirs and tourist trinkets while traveling.

iv.2 If they get married, who proposes, and how do they do it? Would they change their surnames?

well as per my magnum opus, it's "know any puns about proposing?", but i am also quite fond of the way my dad went about it, which was waking up at 5am in the morning, turning to my mother in bed and going "hey, you wanna get married" and my mom being like "yeah." and then they got married. except if this was soriel it would go something like

"hey. wanna get married?"

"Oh. Do we have to?"

".....naaaah."

and then they don't! piss and love🙏

You know I still find it hilariously funny that my introduction to Frans was actually through a Soriel Undertale compilation on YouTube.

Like, I still remember two comics from that video, one of them being the AU, Aftertale, and the other one being a child Sans having a crush on Queen Toriel and meeting again, older by the Ruin’s closed gates…

It’s so strange to me that my curiosity of who are they and what was their relationship led me to a more Frans centric compilation. Then, BOOM, it was love at first sight.

Idk why I wanted to share that, but I guess, that’s why I’m mindful of Soriel and their shippers. Internally grateful that I discovered Frans because of them, even if it was accidental 😅

A bit late to the week but I’m here!! And since I’ve had RT on the brain lately, it’s gonna be an RT heavy Soriel week from me B) Hope you enjoy the ride! Here’s some angst first up 🖤

The undertale community has a deeply rooted problem of not being able to just not interact with things you dont like

Its been like this forever, since i was a kid and got into the fandom. People hating on papyton and soriel, for absolutely NO REASON, just bcs they didnt like the shipps and decided to create problems that dont exist at ALL.

The victim of the moment is cocoapowder, a super harmless shipp that gets hate for solely existing, none of the "problems" with it are actual problems. All the "problems" have more to do with personal interpretations of ache character.

- No there is no confirmation of Chara "aging". Theyre said to be a child and look like one, so they might as well still have the mentality of one. You can interpret them as having a older mentality but thats fully on you, not everyone is gonna think the same.

- No its not off character for none of them because they bearly have any personality to begin with. All we know is that Chara was a bit of a prankster and that Clover is a very sweet child.

- "Chara does not deserve happiness" you realize thats your interpretation of them? Right??? There is no confirmation theyre actually that irredimable demon you talk about. Theres actually more evidence towords of the complete oposite, with them williningly sacrificing themself because they wanted to be part of the monster kind spcapade.

Basically, all of the "problems" are problems that simply dont exist at all. Theyre all related to personal headcannons, to personal interpretation of the characters and not what actually is confirmed. Even the "theyre siblings" thing does not make that much sense since clover does not remember what happened in the timelines they stayed with Toriel therefore their closest parental figures are Starlo and Martlet, not Toriel.

Cocoapowder is complelty harmless. If you dont like it bcs of your hcs its fine, you can, you have the freedom to not like smth, but be awere your interpretation of the things is not the only one, people have diferent points of view.

Two years later, but here it is!

Honestly, I don't know much about the Caretaker Chara AU, and it reminds me of that time when Soriel was super popular (I didn't really follow it, but it felt like it was everywhere). So, it was a bit tricky for me to draw it.

(Also, I remember thinking about your comment for Chansweek last year, but I wasn’t too confident with handling comments yet, so it just stayed in the mailbox :p)

FUCK SANS AND SANSCEST

Okay that was a bit excessive but now that I got your attention.

Can the Undertale and Undertale multiverse fandoms please please PLEASEEEEE chill with the sans and the sanscest

Like I get it it’s liked and I like it too to some degree but come on it’s like 90% of the first fandom and 100% of the second. When I first found out about the under multiverse fandom thingy idk what it’s really called, I went in Hoping to see aus of characters I liked characters like Toriel Alphys and Asgore but all I ended up with was sans SO MUCH SANS LIKE ONLY SANS!?

And just while I love undertale to death and I adore sans and love many of his aus andsanscestshipstoo, I’d kill to see other characters and ideas explored.

Sure there’s SOME but it’s wildly less popular and completely overshadowed by all the other sans related stuff

And the ships OH THE SHIPS

I am a massive shipper and while I do love sanscest and have some ships with it I’d KILL for multiverse crossover ships between sans aus and fricking toriel aus alphys aus grillby Mettaton Muffet

Bro sans was shipped with so many other ut characters back in the day (minus THOSE ones 💀) and I never understood why those ships never translated into the multiverse aspect of the fandom

Like what about Outertale toriel x Error sans instead of Outertale sans x error sans or Haventale Toriel x Nightmare sans instead of Ccino sans or Fell sans x Alter toriel

And let’s not forget the Actual only multiverse soriel ship I’ve ever seen, Reapertale Sans x Reapertale toriel from what was literally a SORIEL AU with toriel ending up completely overshadowed by Geno sans and Afterdeath

Like don’t get me wrong I like afterdeath but why the heck did it have to outshadow toriel like that, she’s got such a cool design and their ship has so much potential too.

And I just love Soriel

Soriel Salphys and Suffet are like my three favorite sans ships and I’d kill to see more au variants of them. Among many other sans ships and just aus of other characters in general

And let’s not forget the aus of characters that already exist and have designs but usually end up much more underdeveloped and underused due to the sans of the au always ending up the most popular and used (outertale underfell underswap the list goes on)

what what your top five (or so) favorite undertale/utmv fanfics?

It's a bit hard to answer because my tastes change a lot and my favorites too.

Add to that the fact that I've read quite a bit over the years but I think I can highlight some fanfics.

I'll name a few but they're in no specific order.

* (UTMV) A Brother's Duty by Wingless_Hummingbird is focused on (drum roll) the dreamtale twins! in those moments where Nightmare shows mercy to Dream and acts like a brother should.

There's a bit of bsp but honestly the best focus is on the twins.

* (UTMV) How To Remove A Splinter also written by Wingless_Hummingbird is a little one shot where Nightmare saves a girl (Fuku Fire) from some bullies. It's the only work I've seen on it and I found it at least interesting! Killer is also in there,,, but it's not relevant. Again there's implied bsp.

* (UTMV) Who are we to each other? by bluedovee

This is a pretty cool horrordust fanfic because (hold on to your pants) it's focused on Horrortale! It takes place after Dust and Horror land in an alternate version of Horrortale where the monsters are cannibals.

* (UTMV) Kindling for the fire by vicen_non

another work focused on the dreamtale twins, this time, in times before the accident. It's a disturbing read but with a happy ending.

* (UNDERTALE) Love in a shell by Anonimous

A one shot. Soriel, sweet and lovely soriel AND related to stardew valley. If you guys like these dorks, you gonna love this one.

* (UNDERTALE) And We Begin by Blaiddsumu its a one shot focused on how Alphys met Gaster and Sans <3 i wont say more, is AMAZING.

* (UNDERTALE) Standing By Your Side Whether You Like It or Not!!! By the amazing Darkhymns

Another one shot, i love reading one shots more than multiple chapters fanfics. This one is focused on Undyne and Papyrus after Frisk killed Asgore. I love the characterization so much.

And thats it. I havent read too much lately, i may will add more stuff another day.
