My original designs of Three Virtues pendants were finally delivered! They were supposed to be there on Friday before Bionicle Day but... happy belated Bionicle Day I guess?

Hexagon stands for 6 elements, prominent motive through whole Bionicle series. On the three sides, Three Virtues are engraved in Matoran alphabet, decorated with combination of tribal geometry and circuits.

I have some BIG news!!! I’m starting my first full time job tomorrow!!! 😆

I’ll be working as a deputy clerk at my county’s court house, so I’m totally expecting it to be a pretty busy job 🤣

As it’s a full time job though, that does mean that I will definitely become WAY less active on here for…… well AWHILE I guess 😅 Don’t worry, I’m NOT deleting my account or becoming fully inactive, but I’ll definitely won’t be able to post much anymore! in terms of relistening/older stuff, the dear hunter antimai, more franz ferdinand. finally listened to sound & fury by sturgill simpson all the way through, it's really good. boyf also got me to listen to die antwoord and ohhh i do like this. a lot.

reading: this was from a few weeks ago actually but i forgot about it. we stopped over in pittsburgh for a night and briefly entertained the idea of going to a museum or something road-trip style and found this museum review. surprisingly she is not a lesbian.

started dangelo wallace's ozempic video. the fatphobia had me tapping out pretty quick tho. also watched about half of joy achill's "the george r r martin problem" about asoiaf stuff, gonna finish it tomorrow i think

watched "the man who tried to fake an element" with the boyf, really fascinating, i knew a little bit of it from one of my undergrad classes but this was a really good deep dive.

also watched two episodes of space dandy with the boyf. so much to unpack there.

playing: more dnd but otherwise fallow. made a little dungeon crawl type thing so that's pretty straightforward.

making: coasters mostly right now! the main ones are a Surprise so i will not be posting them yet. instead look at my worm

i've also started knitting a magic the gathering card sleeve as a semi-gag gift for a friend. it's really really stupid i love it so much. it is just ten rows of a rectangle in stockinette right now but i'm going to mock up a little texture work to get the swamp land symbol in the back.

eating: did a lot of takeout right after moving because, Yeah, but i finally started settling back in to home cooked meals. made my favorite orzo salad for a temple potluck, an ungodly amount of gyudon, and a garlic butter shrimp pasta thing.

misc: my new apartment is good!! the insulation isn't great, i know i'll have to shrinkwrap some windows this winter for Sure, but overall i'm settling in. i have a lot of organization and purging to do, especially of my House Clothes, craft supplies, and makeup/beauty shit, and i need to get one or two pieces of furniture still (like a couch......i have a funny little bachelor chair in front of the couch right now which is very funny). i got myself some fun plants from the farmers market as a housewarming gift to myself. i am finally the owner of a monstera, yippee, she Really needs a repot though. i also got a hoya lisa because i liked the name and it was cute and cat friendly and i got a vaguely labia-adjacent succulent. i have so many little household Needs and Tasks (mat for in front of the sink! blackout curtains because i have to sleep with an eye mask right now because the blinds dont do shit! etc!) and also every grocery bill i do is like $100 because of getting kitchen essentials that will not run out any time soon but that i do need (white vinegar. aluminum foil. flour.) so everything is so expensive. this is a big wall of text. at least the spare mattress is out of my weird haunted hallway now <3 i'm very excited to start hanging up my art.

Had a weird dream last night, and most of it was irrelevant, (though there was some of The Bionicle Dream going on in an early section, went to this big fancy arcade place, that was selling some select old Bionicle merch out in the lobby area) weird stuff about the states on a map, but the last section before I awoke was pretty interesting.

It was basically like, a scene from some sort of alternate universe version of Lord of the Rings, where the orcs had more of a defined culture and stuff, and Saruman was a wizard of the sea instead. I initially started like, faceless camera view floating over this messy V-shaped artificial lake caused by some sort of mishap with a backhoe, but due to weird Dream Logic it somehow filled with water and transformed into this bustling Orc port, just with the same coatline and islands but at a larger scale, before coming down into the scene. There was an unusually fancy ship, glowing faintly with magical energy, sailing into it from offscreen, (when the lake had previously been in the middle of grass fields) and indecisively sailed back and forth a bit before finally coming to dock.

Saruman, in all of his pompously stoic Christopher Lee glory, stepped into a racious and loud orc bar, clearly curling his nose up at them a bit, trying to avoid touching the grimy furniture, but suffering the noise since he was a wizard on a mission. He reached the bartender, and asked if he could direct him to "Olag, the shipmaster" and described him a bit, along with listing some big events and sea battles he had been a participant in. (Again, had the tone of being somewhat patronizing to the bartender's intelligence.)

After a bit of thinking, the bartender responded that the shipmaster had died just recently, in an accident out in the harbor. Saruman went still, face unreadable, until the bartender added "I suppose you'll be taking your leave?" Saruman simply said no. "Then you'll be paying for a drink?"

And Saruman said no again, and his voice wavered ever so slightly as he added that he would have a drink on Olag's spirit, and sat down on one of the grimy barstools he had avoided touching before, which seemed to genuinely surprise the bartender. The view kinda retreated again, with a like, voice-over bit of Tolkein digression, explaining that to the Orks, having a free drink 'on someone's spirit' was how they mourned their dead, and while such a practice was in theory an easy thing to abuse for free alcohol, they all took it too seriously to ever consider something like that. From there it returned to Saruman's fancy wizard-tower-ship looking out of place amidst the controlled chaos of the port, as the voiceover further explained that Saruman and that particular shipmaster had been opposite sides of many of the aformentioned major sea battles, and so naturally when he turned coat to join Sauron's side, this one single Orc who he genuinely respected was the first one he thought to recruit in turn.

So yeah, that seemed intriguing enough to warrant writing down.

If any of your ocs had any, what would they be? like I imagine faust could have been a beyblade kid and Luka gives vibes that they were/are unhealthily obsessed with yugioh. theo bionicles? pazu bakugan? also bionicle thought made me imagine like,,, i bet faust could wear bionicle armor

i… don’t know if this counts but i really liked club penguin? like i know it didn’t start as a toy franchise but i DID have the little plastic figures and cardjitsu merch so. that’s my answer

i used to work in a card shop so i am intimately familiar with adults that used to be yugioh kids, and yes 100% luka would be a yugioh kid. he wasn’t really allowed to collect toys or have special interests but that is dead on accurate if he was. or legos, he’d really like legos.

faust obviously wasn’t a kid on earth but if he was i feel like he would be the one that mixes polar opposite franchises and sees absolutely nothing wrong with it. like he-man action figures and (OG) my little pony dolls. yes they are all in a crime gang together and yes they have tea parties on the regular, what about it.

theo didn’t have much of an interest in toys, i think he’d be more of a book kid… idk what series he’d enjoy, probably something meant for adults that had a lot of nuances he didn’t really understand but he felt important for reading something so sophisticated

and pazu was a kid way before toy franchises were really a thing so like. spinning top maybe idk. if we’re talking about modern AU then maybe like littlest pet shop. i think he’d like those obnoxiously huge eyes

Let's continue with Bonkle merch I've received this week. I really wanted to make Kanohi Ignika 3D pin with gold plating for a few months and now I have it! Too bad I don't have waterproof camera because underwater photos of this would be cool.

16. Describe your favorite hoodie. How long have you had it? What makes it unique?

okay so my favorite hoodie for the longest time, was the one I got my senior year of high school with the year I graduated on it. it's absolute trash now because I wore it so much lmao. It was just the perfect amount of softness on the inside even after washing it. plus, it didn't feel weird on my body.

my current favorite hoodies are probably my burgundy hoodie & my 5SOS merch one! the burgundy one is just really nice because of the color & the fact that it's soft. the 5SOS one, even though it's like a cream/white color (neutrals feel so... empty to me), I like it because it's comfy & I like the art on it!

29. Did you play with Legos as a kid? What was your favorite set?

not really. my brother didn't really have Legos, but he had Bionicles & I would play with those lol. Although as an adult, the idea of having a Lego sets fucking rocks. I made the armory set from The Mandalorian and I reaaaaaally want the Lego flowers!!
