Groundhog Day declared as Harold Ramis day in Chicago.

Members of the cast of the iconic film reunited for the first time at Navy Pier Friday, marking 31 years since the film was released. But Friday was also about honoring Harold Ramis and commemorating 10 years since his death.

Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd) officially declared Friday as "Harold Ramis Day." The Chicago native was the co-writer, actor, and director extraordinaire of "Groundhog Day." Ramis played a neurologist in the film.

"He was so warm, he was so welcoming. He was calm, even though he was creative. There was just nobody like him." - Marita Geraghty.

"I think it's great that we're here and, I don't want to be too Irish, but it's very nice of Harold to make it a very nice, mild day for today. He's up there stirring the clouds around, making that low pressure move out to Indiana and just drenching, ruining those people's lives over there in Indiana." - Bill Murray.

"He was just the sweetest man you ever knew... Thank you, Harold, for giving me the opportunity to meet my life partner, and I love you." - Brian Doyle-Murray.

Ramis' wife, Erica, was in attendance, beaming with pride as many spoke wonders about her husband. She even read a letter from former President Barack Obama encouraging people to enjoy the day as Ramis would.

i will say it is extremely funny to have a brand new book drop that's full of every gravity falls character ever saying BILL WILL TRY TO MANIPULATE YOUR FEELINGS SO YOU'LL FEEL BAD FOR HIM AND HELP HIM. DONT DO THAT and bill saying IF YOU WANNA CONTROL A HUMAN LOOK REALLY PATHETIC SO THEY FEEL BAD FOR YOU and then everyone read the stuff he said/implied about his backstory and went oh nooo🥺🥺 he's just a sad little babyy his life was so hard omggg🥺🥺🥺🥺 ...guys.

#my main issue w this book was that i really dont think we needed any more depth to bill nor did #we need a sad backstory or anything the funniest thing abt him is that he's this inexplicable little freak #but then i realised the book wasn't trying to explain him or make you feel bad for him #bill was doing that. and the fandom ate it up yummy style #doyle vs watson strikes again.....#gravity falls #book of bill #bill cipher
