they keep pushing the crew is a family thing. and yeah The Crew Are. but at this point not the co-captains LMAO. most of the crew actively dislike those two currently can we be honest here for once PLEASE. maybe because izzy said he wants them to consider the captains as family that might help but. man.

ed and stede are absolutely Not family with the crew. they just arent. theyre family together and yep izzy to connect to the rest but theyre shitty co-bosses to the crew. theyre not even good captains and for sure not family. i WISH they couldve gotten there. listen i WANTED them to get there and to actually put effort into your relationship with your crew. but it just didnt happen. its not earned its not believable sorry if thats controversial to anyone but you gotta admit

ed tried to kill them all and only fang forgave. the rest of them hate/are terrified of him or love someone who hates/is terrified of him. and then after all that stede chose ed over his crew. not caring about their trauma after all his bigtalk about caring for the crews feelings. and i keep thinking back to lucius pointing out that stede just didnt care about him being alive and didn’t acknowledge his return. all this would be different if it werent a pirate captain/pirate crew dynamic.

pirate captain/pirate crew dynamic is basically “heres the guy who decides if we live or die” and these two are Absolutely Not the ones to have that role. ed knows about sailing but has no people skills he couldnt even say sorry. stede has neither skill even though he thinks he does. the only good captain has been the pirate queen herself. plus shes believable as family. and now frenchie yayyyyy my favorite beloved frenchie youll always be famous

this is, technically, an age regression blog. I'm not certain if that is what is happening to me but it's the closest I've come to putting a name to it! I'll sometimes talk about that here. everything is in handy categories for my own enjoyment, so here's a rundown of what they are:

smalltalk: "in character," for genuine lack of better term. things like fictional caregiver discussion or imaginary textposts will go here. meant to be fun to read while I'm not feeling myself.

bigtalk: "out of character;" usually me talking about what I'm up to or what I'd like to get up to or whatever else doesn't apply to the above.

moods: moodboards and such.

places: indoor and outdoor locations.

home: things that really hit me in the guts; extra-personal nostalgia.

in general: anything that does not really apply to my own personal theme, but applies here regardless. more aesthetic than emotion based.

I imagine the most talkative is housemaiden Siffrin, because they've already adapted to being very very social.

next researcher sif, infodumpd and questions and all. like you'd never hear smalltalk from them but their bigtalk is BIG

next probably fighter Siffrin? My initial instinct is that they would talk most, but no they're just a lot more confident about themselves. Or at least pretend to be. they can talk, but just need a reason to. They like listening to people talk, after all!

I imagine cookfrin is more talkative than ogfrin, not sure about how talkative they are compared to fighter frin

Are all the Roleswap Sif's as quiet as Canon Sif or is Cook Sif loud and expressive while Researcher Sif hardly ever speaks up?

I tried to keep all the personalities and core traits the same for every character in the roleswap AUs, buuuut I can't lie some Siffrin's are a little more chatty than others XD Ironically I imagine Researcher!Siffrin to be more chatty than Cook!Sif! I mean, even if nobody understands what they are talking about, R!Sif likes infodumping and can talk your ear off about stars and planets if you give him half the chance. But taciturn can still perfectly describe all the Sifs imo
