Whether it’s relocating for a job, buying a vehicle, upgrading skills, or managing unexpected expenses, a personal loan can be a great financial tool for young professionals. With quick approvals, flexible repayment options, and competitive interest rates, personal loans help young earners manage finances without disrupting their budget.
In this guide, we will explore the best personal loan options for young professionals, eligibility criteria, application process, and smart borrowing strategies.
Why Young Professionals Need a Personal Loan?
✔️ Relocation Expenses – Moving to a new city for a job often involves rent deposits, furniture purchases, and travel expenses. ✔️ Skill Enhancement – Investing in professional certifications, online courses, and higher education boosts career growth. ✔️ Buying a Vehicle – A personal loan can help finance a bike or car for daily commuting. ✔️ Emergency Expenses – Unexpected medical bills, home repairs, or financial emergencies can arise at any time. ✔️ Debt Consolidation – Managing multiple credit card debts with a personal loan reduces financial burden and interest rates.
Top Banks & NBFCs Offering Personal Loans for Young Professionals
Young professionals can explore personal loan options from leading banks and NBFCs with competitive interest rates and minimal documentation:
IDFC First Bank Personal Loan
Bajaj Finserv Personal Loan
Tata Capital Personal Loan
Axis Finance Personal Loan
Axis Bank Personal Loan
InCred Personal Loan
Key Features of a Personal Loan for Young Professionals
✔️ Loan Amount – Ranges from ₹50,000 to ₹25 lakhs, depending on eligibility. ✔️ Interest Rates – Competitive rates starting from 10.50% per annum. ✔️ Repayment Tenure – Flexible tenure from 12 to 60 months. ✔️ No Collateral Required – Personal loans are unsecured, meaning no assets are needed as security. ✔️ Quick Approval & Disbursal – Many lenders provide instant approval and same-day disbursal. ✔️ Minimal Documentation – Requires basic KYC documents, income proof, and employment details.
Eligibility Criteria for Young Professionals
✔️ Age – Typically 21 to 60 years. ✔️ Minimum Income – ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per month (varies by lender). ✔️ Employment Type – Salaried employees and self-employed individuals can apply. ✔️ Credit Score – A CIBIL score of 700+ increases chances of approval. ✔️ Work Experience – Most lenders require a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of job stability.
How to Apply for a Personal Loan as a Young Professional?
Step 1: Check Your Loan Eligibility
Use an online eligibility calculator to estimate the loan amount you can avail based on your income and credit score.
Step 2: Compare Loan Offers from Multiple Lenders
Visit different lenders’ websites or loan aggregators to compare interest rates, processing fees, and EMI options.
Step 3: Gather Necessary Documents
Most banks and NBFCs require the following: ✔️ Identity Proof – Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID ✔️ Address Proof – Utility Bill, Rental Agreement, Passport ✔️ Income Proof – Salary slips, Bank statements, ITR (for self-employed) ✔️ Employment Proof – Offer letter, Company ID card
Step 4: Submit Your Loan Application Online
Most lenders allow paperless loan applications, reducing processing time. Fill in your details, upload documents, and wait for approval.
Step 5: Receive Loan Disbursal
Once approved, the loan amount is credited to your bank account within 24-48 hours.
Smart Ways to Manage Your Personal Loan Efficiently
1. Choose the Right Loan Tenure
✔️ Shorter tenure = Higher EMI, lower total interest paid ✔️ Longer tenure = Lower EMI, higher total interest paid
2. Opt for Auto-Debit EMI Payments
✔️ Automating EMI payments prevents late fees and credit score damage.
3. Avoid Taking Multiple Loans Simultaneously
✔️ Manage your finances efficiently and prioritize essential borrowing.
4. Prepay the Loan If Possible
✔️ If you receive a bonus or salary hike, consider prepaying to reduce interest costs. ✔️ Check if your lender has zero prepayment charges.
5. Improve Your Credit Score for Better Loan Offers
✔️ Pay EMIs on time. ✔️ Avoid excessive credit utilization. ✔️ Check and correct any errors in your CIBIL report.
Common Mistakes Young Professionals Should Avoid
🚫 Borrowing More Than Needed – Stick to your financial requirements to avoid unnecessary debt. 🚫 Ignoring Loan Terms & Conditions – Always read the fine print regarding hidden fees and charges. 🚫 Missing EMI Payments – Late payments damage your credit score and attract penalties. 🚫 Choosing a Lender Without Comparison – Comparing multiple personal loan options ensures the best deal. 🚫 Not Planning for Loan Repayment – Budgeting your EMI payments prevents financial stress.
Final Thoughts: Find the Right Personal Loan for Your Needs
A personal loan is a flexible and convenient financial tool for young professionals looking to manage relocation, education, emergencies, or other expenses. Choosing the right lender, understanding loan terms, and planning EMI payments wisely can help you use a personal loan effectively without financial strain.

tomorrow is my first day of classes as I go back to school for the first time in eight years and my family has picked today to blow up at each other and drag me into it
#VERY long story short#after my Papa died my dad buying the house out from my mom became a real possibility again#so all of us slowed down on the house sale stuff#and that included me shifting my focus from packing and looking for a place to getting ready to start school#but as of about two and a half hours ago my father is again freaking the fuck out#and saying we need to have the house ready to go on the market in seven fucking days#bc my mom has asked for a downpayment which he says he can’t afford#(when I asked him how much she was asking for he said he didn’t know. so it’s less ‘can’t’ and more ‘doesn’t want to’ but whatever)#anyway I asked him to ask bc if it comes down to it I would prefer to loan my dad the money for the downpayment#bc in exchange I get stability while I go back to school and the money I lose in interest would just be going to increased rent anyway#so now I get a text from my mother saying ‘do not give your father money for the downpayment’#and I’ve been trying so hard to be supportive of them both without it seeming like I’m ‘taking sides’#but I kind of snapped and said ‘I love you but don’t tell me what to do. I’m not doing this to ‘bail dad out’’#‘I’m doing this bc it’s the best option for me right now.’#and now she’s not responding to me#I fucking hate this#she needs the money. I need a stable place to live. let me loan him the money so YOU have the money mom!#I know you’re worried he won’t pay me back bc he’s proven to be less than honest with his finances in the past but also.#I’m his only kid. not to be macabre but I’ll be getting it back eventually one way or another unless he somehow writes me out of his will.#just fuckin. I’m supposed to be reading through my syllabuses and figuring out bullshit websites for school rn.#I don’t want to be dealing with family drama and impending homelessness rn pls chill#personal

Navigating Car and Equipment Loans with LoanOptions.ai
Tumblr media
Financing a major purchase, whether it’s a new vehicle or heavy equipment for your business, can be a daunting task. With a plethora of loan options available, finding the best deal that suits your specific needs requires careful consideration. That’s where LoanOptions.ai steps in, offering a streamlined way to compare car loans, explore equipment finance options, and make informed decisions that align with your financial goals.
Simplifying the Loan Comparison Process
When it comes to loans, one size does not fit all. The terms, interest rates, and repayment plans vary from lender to lender, and it can be challenging to navigate through all the choices on your own. LoanOptions.ai makes this process easier by providing a platform where you can compare car loans and compare equipment loans in just a few clicks.
The platform uses advanced AI technology to analyze your requirements and match you with the best available loan options. Whether you're looking to finance a new car or need heavy equipment for your business, LoanOptions.ai helps you find the perfect fit without the hassle of endless research and complicated loan jargon.
Why Comparing Car Loans Matters
For many people, purchasing a vehicle is one of the most significant financial decisions they will make. Whether it’s for personal use or business, the right car loan can save you thousands of dollars over time. By using LoanOptions.ai to compare car loans, you can easily view options from various lenders, making it easier to find a loan that offers favorable terms, low-interest rates, and manageable repayment plans.
A few key benefits of comparing car loans include:
Interest Rate Comparison: Lenders offer different interest rates based on factors such as your credit score, loan amount, and loan term. A small difference in interest rates can make a significant difference in the total cost of the loan.
Flexible Repayment Terms: Some lenders offer more flexibility in repayment schedules, allowing you to tailor the loan to your financial situation.
Extra Fees: Comparing different loan options also lets you identify any hidden fees or early repayment penalties that could increase the cost of borrowing.
LoanOptions.ai provides a clear comparison of these factors, helping you make the right choice and ensuring you get the best possible deal.
Exploring Equipment Finance Options
For business owners, access to the right equipment can be the key to unlocking growth and improving efficiency. However, purchasing heavy machinery, vehicles, or specialized tools often comes with a significant price tag. That's where equipment finance options come into play.
Equipment financing allows you to borrow money specifically for the purchase of equipment needed for your business. LoanOptions.ai enables you to compare equipment loans from a variety of lenders, ensuring that you find a solution tailored to your business’s unique needs.
Types of Equipment Finance Options
There are several types of equipment finance options available, and understanding each can help you make an informed decision.
Equipment Loan: In this scenario, you borrow a specific amount to purchase equipment, which serves as collateral for the loan. This is a straightforward way to acquire machinery or vehicles while maintaining ownership from the start.
Equipment Lease: Leasing allows you to use the equipment while making regular payments to the lender or leasing company. At the end of the lease term, you may have the option to purchase the equipment at a reduced rate. Leasing is an excellent option if you need equipment for a shorter period or want to avoid upfront costs.
Hire Purchase: This is a hybrid option where you hire the equipment with the intent of purchasing it at the end of the loan term. You’ll make payments throughout the contract period, and once all payments are made, ownership of the equipment is transferred to you.
Each of these options comes with its own set of advantages and potential drawbacks, depending on your business’s financial situation and long-term goals. With LoanOptions.ai, you can easily evaluate all these equipment finance options and choose the one that aligns with your business strategy.
The LoanOptions.ai Advantage
LoanOptions.ai stands out as a leader in the finance industry because of its user-friendly platform, which leverages AI to match you with the best loan products. Here’s why LoanOptions.ai should be your go-to solution for loan comparisons:
Comprehensive Loan Comparisons: Whether you’re looking to compare car loans or explore equipment finance options, LoanOptions.ai offers a broad selection of loans from top lenders. This ensures you can find competitive rates and terms that suit your needs.
Personalized Matches: LoanOptions.ai uses advanced algorithms to analyze your financial profile, giving you tailored loan options that increase the likelihood of approval while ensuring you get the best deal.
Transparency and Trust: The platform prides itself on transparency, providing all the essential information upfront so you can make informed decisions without hidden surprises.
Choosing the right financing for your car or business equipment is a critical decision that can impact your financial health for years to come. With so many loan options available, it’s essential to compare and evaluate each choice carefully. LoanOptions.ai makes this process simple, efficient, and tailored to your specific needs.

“Excuse me… Can you please help me?”
The red-haired man, who was perusing the endless options of cup ramyeon, turned in your direction, but remained planted a few feet away from you.
“Me?” He pointed at himself.
You nodded, adjusting the items you were holding in your arms. “Can you grab me that cup of ramyeon from the shelf? I’d get it, but my hands are full…”
The man walked over and retrieved your cup of ramyeon. As he handed it to you, he noticed your pronounced bump under your sweater and furrowed his eyebrows.
“Miss, you’re in no condition to be carrying so much. Please, let me help you bring it to the checkout.”
With your approval, he unloaded the rest of your snacks into his arms. The two of you walked to the register, where you insisted on paying for his own cup of ramyeon. You suggested eating the ramyeon at one of the tables outside the subway station’s convenience store, but he insisted on sitting on a bench on the subway platform.
“Is there a particular reason you wanted to eat here? It’s not the most ideal dining spot…” You slurped your noodles happily. The man ate slowly, popping his head up every so often and eyeing his surroundings carefully.
“I’m… looking for something. Nothing you should worry yourself with,” he continued to eat his food while you gave him a skeptical look.
“Perhaps I could help? Well, as long as I don’t have to move very much,” you chuckled, patting your stomach. He gave you a soft smile before changing the topic.
“Shouldn’t your husband be buying you food instead of you coming to get it yourself?” He gestured to your bag of snacks, and you giggled.
“My husband buys me all the food I want, but sometimes I just want to get out of the house! It’s no fun being cooped up all day,” you sighed. The man nodded in understanding.
“It’s also nice to talk to other people, like you,” you smiled at him. He returned your smile, but then his eyebrows shot up when a sharp smack echoed throughout the platform.
The man jumped up, his cup ramyeon forgotten on the bench. You turned to see where the noise had come from, only to find a group of students huddled around another student who had dropped their textbooks on the ground. From what you could hear, it seemed like they were holding them for a friend but couldn’t handle the weight.
The red-haired man froze for a few seconds, then sat back down, heaving a big sigh.
“Are you alright, sir? There’s nothing to worry about – it was just some books that fell.” You tried to comfort the man in some way, but he brushed the incident off.
“I’m fine. It just… reminded me of something,” he tried his best to give you a reassuring smile, but it didn’t convince you. “Don’t worry about me. Please eat,” he gestured to your unfinished ramyeon, “you need strength for your baby.”
The rest of your time together was pleasant, but you were still not convinced that the man’s reaction was nothing. You both finished your noodles, disposing the packaging and your utensils before parting ways.
Once you returned home, you put the remaining snacks away and settled on the sofa. There were still a few hours before your husband was due home. You got yourself comfortable, curled up under a blanket, and drifted off to sleep.
Tumblr media
“Rough day?”
You cracked open your eyes. All you could see was a blurry grey shape, but you already knew who it was.
Blinking your eyes a few times, your husband’s handsome face came into focus, with his usually crisp grey suit looking a bit creased. His usual smirk graced his face as he looked down at you on the sofa.
“I should be asking you that. What happened to your suit?” You sat up and he sat down next to you, leaning his head on your shoulder.
“One prospective player became violent when he lost at ddakji for the 20th time in a row. Of course, I was able to subdue him, but it took more effort than usual,” your husband tried to press down a crease on his sleeve, but to no avail. He rested a hand on your rounded belly, gently rubbing circles with his fingers.
“How was today? I trust you succeeded in your mission?”
You scoffed, “He was exactly where you said he’d be. I was able to have a conversation with him. We even ate ramyeon together for lunch!”
Your husband turned to face you, an eyebrow raised. “You ate ramyeon together?” He gave a small pout, “I thought I was the only one you ate ramyeon with.”
Immediately, your face flustered as you explained yourself, “Hey, you know that I would never cheat!” Then, you scoffed, “We ate cup ramyeon, alright? Not whatever fantasy you’re imagining in that head of yours.” He laughed, pecking you on the cheek.
“Oh, but I have some exciting news,” you said with a sparkle in your eyes. “He’s still looking for you. And he’s basically gone mad trying to find you.” This caught your husband’s attention.
“While we were eating, there was a loud noise. Turned out that a kid dropped their books. But Gi-hun didn’t know that. He shot up so fast I swear I thought he was possessed!”
Your husband seemed to take in your findings carefully, continuing his circles on your bump as if they helped him focus.
“He wouldn’t tell me what he was looking for, but he specifically wanted us to sit on the subway platform, so I think it’s safe to say he’s searching for you.” Your husband had previously informed you that he had spotted a player he had already recruited at the Incheon Airport subway station, albeit with flaming red hair. After talking with the Frontman, he confirmed that Seong Gi-hun was indeed the winner of the 33rd edition of the Games.
Once you shared the rest of your intel with your husband, you let out a big sigh.
“Should I meet with Gi-hun again? It’d be useful to know his location and I could maybe gather more info,” you looked at your husband who had since sat up, but he didn’t take his hand off your bump.
He pondered your question for a moment. “While I would benefit from knowing his whereabouts, I’m more afraid of something happening to you,” his voice sounded strained. “I wouldn’t be there to protect you and our child.”
You leaned onto his shoulder, resting a hand on top of his on your belly. “We’ll be fine. If anything, Gi-hun was also concerned for me because of the baby,” you winked. “Maybe they’re the key to earning his trust.”
Your husband’s lips tightened into a straight line. While he wasn’t happy that you would spend time with someone who clearly despised him, you were right — your pregnancy would lower Gi-hun’s defenses. You knew how much your husband’s schedule was impacted by Gi-hun’s constant presence on the AREX subway line. It would greatly help your husband if you could keep Gi-hun at one station while he recruited prospective players for the Games.
Your husband kissed the crown of your head and stood up, attempting once again to smooth out the crease on his sleeve. “We’ll see. I’ll talk to the Frontman to see if we can get you any additional protection. I still don’t like the idea of you being around Gi-hun alone. If he learns of our relationship, I imagine he will use you as ransom,” he clicks his tongue, “We can’t have that now, can we?”
You shook your head and stood up next to your husband. He wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you closer to him.
“For now, continue researching prospective players. I’m almost done with your last batch,” he flashed his signature smirk, which you returned with a soft smile of your own.
“On it. Rumour has it that Tapgol Park has an abundance of people down on their luck…”

DCxDP Prophecy universe
(Title subject to change)
Sometimes Danny really hated Clockwork. You’ll know him when you see him. “Cryptic and unhelpful as usual”, Danny groused. “You’d think the Master of Time could be a little more descriptive considering it’s his damned errands I’m running here, but noooo! I’m starting to think this whole apprenticeship is just an excuse to foist his busywork off on me.”
Here Danny was, aimlessly flying above the rooftops of Gotham, trying to figure out who he was supposed to be delivering his message to. He had a name, but no description and no location. I’ll know him when I see him my ass. Whoever this Damian Al-Ghul was supposed to be had better stick out like a sore thumb or Danny was never gonna find him. Speaking of…
Danny paused in mid-air. There was someone crouching on a nearby rooftop, peering over the edge. He was young, wearing a red and yellow outfit with a dark hooded cape. He wore a sheathed sword on his back that looked way too real to be part of some casual cosplay. Welp, if this ain’t him then Clockwork picked the wrong errand boy. Now, how best to approach this?
Danny considered his options. The cloak and apprentice staff Clockwork had loaned him gave him a suitably spooky appearance on top of his usual ghostliness but he wasn’t gonna go around scaring kids, armed or not. The friendly approach it is then.
“Hey there!”
Wow, the kid had some good reflexes. At the sound of Danny’s voice he jumped as if electrocuted, spinning around and drawing his sword in one smooth movement. He held the sword in front of himself in a defensive position and his stance showed that he knew how to use it. “Who the hell are you?” he barked.
“Easy there” Danny raised his hands in a placating gesture “I’m just here to deliver a message. I’m looking for someone named Damian Al-Ghul. You wouldn’t happen to be him, right?”
A deepening scowl was his only answer. “I repeat, who the hell are you?”
Danny sighed “Look kid, I’m just trying to do my job here. I have a prophecy to deliver, so if you’re not this Damian fella…” he trailed off invitingly.
“A… prophecy?” the kid hesitated before lowering his sword slightly, scowl still firmly in place.
“Yep” Danny popped the end of the word for emphasis “Phantom, apprentice to the Ghost of Time and part-time delivery spectre, at your service” he threw the kid a mock salute. “My Boss told me to come to Gotham to give a prophecy to you’ll know him when you see him” he dropped his voice to a lower register and made airquotes around the words, “and you’re the only memorable person I’ve seen tonight, so…” Danny spread his arms in exasperation.
The kid hesitated visibly before letting his sword hand drop to his side. “I am the one you’re looking for.”
“Great! Hang on.” Danny pulled a messenger bag out from under his cloak and started rummaging around in it, causing the kid (Damian?) to twitch “Now where did I put..? Aha!” Danny pulled out a faintly glowing envelope in triumph. It had a large purple wax seal on it and Damian Al-Ghul written in elegant cursive across the back. Danny floated closer and held out the envelope to the kid.
“The prophecy… is a letter?” Damian drawled, eyebrows rising in disbelief. Danny shrugged.
“What, did you expect a dancing, singing telegram? I only do those for the really good tippers” he shook the envelope slightly “So, are you gonna take this or what?”
Damian finally reached out and took the letter, turning it over to scrutinise both sides. Danny tucked his bag back under his cloak and rose into the air.
“Right, I’ve got other errands to get done, so… see ya!” he turned to leave.
“Wait”
Danny turned back to face the kid and to his surprise, saw that Damian was holding out some folded bills towards him.
“You know the tipping thing was a joke, right?”
“Tt. I am told it is rude not to tip delivery people” Damian sniffed “I am simply acting within expected social norms”
“Wow, um… okay” Danny took the folded bills from Damian. It looked like it would last him for a couple of good meals and he wasn’t exactly swimming in money, okay? Ghost apprentice wasn’t exactly a paid internship. “Thanks?”
“You’re welcome” came the haughty reply.
Danny shrugged and tucked the money into his bag. He rose back into the air with Damian’s eyes tracking his movement. With a wave of his staff, he opened a portal back to Clockwork’s realm and passed through it leaving Gotham behind.
****
Robin’s hand rose to the communicator in his ear.
“Oracle, did you get all that?”
Now has a Part 2!

huh. you know something I just consciously put together for the first time about caterina and lucanis' relationship is that through the game we get to hear them talk about each other a lot, but we get very few chances to hear them speak with each other at any length at all. contrast it with other companions whose storylines have elements of 'believed lost/long time no see relative returns!' like bellara and davrin, where we get to see both of them have several pretty in-depth conversations with cyrian and eldrin. hell I think even rook talks with varric longer in the regret prison scene than we ever get to see lucanis and caterina interact directly.
(and when we do see them interact, it's mostly one-sided -- it is, perhaps unsurprisingly, caterina who is doing most of the talking and giving all the orders, as he ruefully observes is her wont after murder of crows. including jumpscaring him with 'you're first talon now btw' and the shocked pikachu face in five acts he goes through in response lmao. perhaps it's more accurate to say that she talks at him and he reacts, than that they talk to each other much.)
it has such an interesting effect too, because in deliberately denying us direct insight or experience and only having this mosaic of description from each of them to go on, as well as forcing us to pay attention to the negative space of what is carefully not said, it's evocative along the same principle that you never actually show the monster in a horror film. if you've read the wigmaker job you have a clearer image of the more uh. worrying elements at play here going in, but there is something fascinatingly insidious and naturalistic in the way it's 'hushed up' in the game itself. she has his complete loyalty both as a member of her house and, more importantly, that of an abused child to a parent figure. he readily admits several times that she's a difficult person to live with, an even more difficult person to be loved by ("even for me. and I was her favourite")... but never once does he actively blame her nor truly conceptualize that he has every right to do so (that he can be angry with her and still love her, because whether he should or not he unavoidably does), or that she might have acted differently than she did, that she made a choice every time to hurt him. even affectionately he speaks of her as a force of nature, an act of god -- something that can't be reasoned or pleaded with or resisted, something you can only hope to navigate with as little pain as possible and pray to survive. let yourself get carried away by the riptide, resisting it will only make it worse. you don't compromise with a hurricane, you just try to find the best shelter you can and cross your fingers while you wait for it to pass and be calm again.
love is that hurricane. you do whatever she asks. you earn her continued affection day by day by never letting her down. you only want the things she tells you it's okay to want and cut everything else away preemptively. ("A wyvern tooth dagger?? I loved wyverns as a boy --Caterina would never let me have one of these, though." and as we have all wept and gnashed our teeth over, it never even OCCURS to him that he's a like thirty-five year old adult man who can buy himself any dagger he wants at any time. she said he couldn't have one. so he'll never have one. that's just how it works. and maybe if Illario could just accept that and find his peace with it like I have, this whole thing wouldn't be so difficult. oh lucanis.)
such is the price -- and the cost -- of being loved by her, it's a loan on which the interest will never stop piling up. you have to keep paying it down in perfection every day if you want to keep it. who got the worse deal there: the grandson who has abandoned everything else in life to live up to that and mostly succeeded, until the day he's so burned out and broken it threatens to no longer be an option, or the grandson who can never seem to scrape together enough worth in her eyes no matter how he begs, borrows or steals it, how he hustles and plays dirty?
one of the worst things that can happen to anyone is to be loved by a selfish god. another one of the worst things that can ever happen to anyone is to not be loved by a selfish god. (hope that helps, boys!) even in betraying everything else, Illario can't bring himself to hurt his grandmother, because that would defeat the whole point. who would he defiantly be proving himself worthy to, without her. in love, devotion, submission, hatred, frustration, bitterness, everything is defined in relation to her, you can spot the gravitational force of it through how the dellamorte family move through time and space. she -- her love and regard and attention -- is still the sun both of their worlds orbit around, even as adults. the game might never tell you outright 'she used to beat and starve them growing up. for their own good you see, so they'd be strong (and broken down enough for her to build them up again however she wanted but I'm sure that's incidental)', but if you know even a little bit about how these dynamics can work the writing is on the wall everywhere you look and all the more unsettling for it.
follow lucanis' freeze-logic and fraught interpersonal catch 22 irreconcilable mixed emotions problems back far enough, looong before the ossuary entered the picture, and you start to see caterina's ghost around every fucking corner. she is so proud of him. (well, she would be. she made him. she forged exactly the knife she needed and it rests willingly, devotedly, in her hands, it would return to her every time because it doesn't know love as anything but to be a knife. his tama never taught him how to be anything else. his biggest fear with her is that she won't even want him back, the way he is now.) to the best ability of her soul, whatever parts of it survived a lifetime of crow politics and 'five children, eight grandchildren, only Illario and me left now', I think she really does loves him. he certainly loves her, with all the sincerity and artless desperation of a child, of the little boy he was once. and what she's done to him (and to illario, for all his shitty gremlin scar-ass antics lol) is awful. the harm is real, and the love is real, and trying to find a way for these two truths to exist in the same space is driving all three of them their own individualized forms of insane. you know. the way only family can and so often does lol.
through implications and short glimpses and having to put the pieces together yourself, you can have the feeling that there is very genuine mutual love and attachment in this relationship... and that beneath that there is something so profoundly wrong. and the sneaking '...oh shit it gets worse the longer I think about it' horror of that is more effective for me at least than the stark in-your-face presentation of the facts of the matter could have been. the love is here. the love is here. it only ever makes it worse.

Before the Blues // Niamh Charles
Tumblr media
a/n: based off this request
When you signed for Real Madrid it felt euphoric.
It was a difficult decision to leave your hometown club in Sweden, but yet so easy. Real Madrid could offer opportunities and chances that you wouldn't have had in Sweden which was why you signed the contract - a new challenge. You wanted to grow in yourself, your technique and performance - besides Real was the first major club to offer you a contract.
You thought that dreams would come true at Real Madrid
But you quickly realized that that wasn‘t the case at all.
From a loving club who understood everything, no matter if it was something with your family, something work related or sickness to a club with a toxic environment. Players were fighting constantly and coaching staff was rude and mean towards their players. You also didn‘t like that the team didn’t seem like family at all, more focused on who was playing the best at the moment, who earned the most money, scored the most goals, etc - you simply didn‘t feel at home.
Talking to your manager about your thoughts and concerns, he took them very seriously as he looked for new offers from different clubs or even just for loan somewhere.
No options.
So you gave your best to show the world your talent, you started almost every game, scored goals and defended brilliantly.
After one and a half seasons, it seemed to work. Offers came flying in from the german league, French league, NWSL and WSL. The last one, your personal favourite. The league was competitive, many international players played there and each club seemed to have formed a family, something that was so important to you.
The rumour that you were joining Chelsea spread around rather quickly, your teammates catching on immediately. They didn‘t ask you if it was true, no. Instead they took your stuff, ripped it or threw it in the bin as they made your life horrible for the rest of the season. Besides destroying your stuff, they also tried to injure you in trainings or hurt you verbally. It was nothing but horrible and terrifying.
What‘s your biggest regret?
Real Madrid, you thought.
You were gone the moment the season ended, leaving the club as soon as you could - there was no bye bye, no thank you to the club - nothing.
Arriving in London felt like a fresh start, you hoped everything would turn out well but were prepared for the worst.
In your first few weeks in London, you got introduced to each of the players and coaching staff and also you got shown around the facility. You adapted to the teams playing style quickly, their healthy environment encouraging you to develop and to act confident on the pitch, even though you acted towards your teammates shy and reserved off the pitch.
It wasn’t that your new teammates were rude or anything, in fact they were so so kind and welcoming that you were shocked about this behavior. It felt weird being around them as the toxic handling of RM still left deep wounds and insecurities in you.
Chelsea seemed like the exact opposite to Madrid, though. Nothing at Chelsea seemed toxic. Everything was sorted out through communication and honesty - something you admired.
This can be my home.
Most of the time you stuck to your Swedish fellows yet slowly but surely you started to open up to the rest of the team and became a part of them.
This can be my family.
-
"Do you need help?" Niamh asked as you stood lost in the hall, not knowing where to go.
"I‘m looking for the gym?" your cheeks turned red under her intense gaze.
"Oh yes, let me show you" the girl smiled. Parts of you expected her to laugh at you but there was no sign of making fun.
This wasn‘t Real Madrid - this was Chelsea.
Feeling like she didn’t know you yet, she tried to make conversation "So, do you like fish and chips?" also she wasn‘t the biggest fan of awkward silences.
"I’ve never tried it" you admitted, the defender gasping, clutching her heart dramatically.
"You just killed me"
You giggled at her antics, smiling shyly as she seemed so shocked about the fact that you haven’t had the English delicacy.
The two of you continued your conversation as she walked you to the gym. You enjoyed talking to Niamh - she was attentive and genuinely interested in what you had to say.
"And here‘s the gym" she explained when you arrived at your destination.
"Thank you for showing me, I’ll try to remember it"
"Don’t worry" she watched you enter the gym, some of your teammates already doing their workouts. Niamh didn‘t know what was going trough her head - clearly not a lot - when she called after you, "I’ll pick you up at 7 tonight." you turned around, confused. "for fish and chips" she added quickly before she fled the scene.
You smiled to yourself, internally taking a note to send her your address.
-
Exactly at 7, the defender knocked on your door. Neither of you was wearing something fancy, just casual clothes as this wasn‘t a date.
While Niamh drove you to her favourite fish and chips place, the two of you talked about everything and nothing. Talking to Niamh felt like as if you knew her your whole life already. And even though you sometimes did not understand her jokes - due to the language barrier - she always made sure to explain them or the words that had made it difficult to understand.
You shared a surprisingly delicious meal together while you got to know each other better. It was easy to be her friend, she was kind and attentive, funny and charming and- well, your standards weren't exactly high, after everything you'd been through at Real Madrid any kindness you could get was something you gratefully accepted.
-
And just like that the weeks continued, you spent almost all of your free time with Niamh. She showed you around London, secret (food)spots and places she thought was important for you to know.
Though, she also loved to have a night in, just watching movies or literally anything that involved you.
Some of your team mates would say Niamh was smitten, also following you around like a lost puppy with at least on hand on your body.
The weather still new for you and you were cold? No problem, her jacket was already given to you.
Thirsty? Two bottles already next to you.
Tired? Piggyback and you could use her as a pillow.
Bored? Playing games.
She would do anything to see the smile of yours and the way your eyes shone.
"Do you mind me asking, you don’t talk much about Real Madrid, why‘s that? All people I’ve met who transferred here talk at least a bit of their old club but not you. I‘m curious. Well, I know you‘re shy but- do you miss your team? Is that just your way of grieving?" The defender asked who was laying beneath you on the couch. Your head was resting on her chest while her fingers absently played with your hair.
You didn’t reply but close your eyes, trying to convince her that you fell asleep, bored by the movie and so relaxed by her back scratches.
"Hey? Y/n- Oh" she looked down, seeing your closed eyes, "you sleepy girl. Always falling asleep when it‘s my choice of movie" she giggled before turning of the tv, letting you rest in peace.
-
Being back in Spain, in Madrid, wasn’t something you enjoyed but something that had to be done. It was your job. It was your job to play against your former club in the Champions League. You were ready to beat them, ready to show them what they lost and what you deserved. Because you truly did deserve better than the treatment you got in Spains capital.
"You okay?" your favourite Blue asked, grabbing your wrist as you walked back from the warm-ups.
"What? Yeah, yeah I’m okay" you mumbled, looking around, the opposing girls throwing glares in your direction, already gossiping.
You tried to walk away, back in the changing room but she stopped you again, "hey- whatever it is you can talk to me, okay? It doesn’t need to be now" she squeezed your hand, "I’m here for you. Remember that" she pulled you in for a hug, pressing a promising kiss to your forehead. A gesture that didn’t go unnoticed by some of the real girls.
"Thank you" you inhaled deeply before pulling back, "now let‘s go and smash them."
-
"How‘s your little girlfriend" one of the Real Madrid girls asked as Niamh stood ready for the corner, "she‘s quite a bitch, you‘ll realize soon" the opponent whispered before she cleared the corner which would have been the perfect opportunity to score for Chelsea if Niamh would‘ve jumped. But she didn‘t, her feet were too heavy.
Everybody was frustrated, Niamh especially. Her team was playing well, you were being incredibly but as soon as you had the ball, your face touched the ground, dangerous tackles sent your way.
"The next tackle‘s gonna end with broken ankles" someone whispered in Niamh‘s ear, "that snitch bitch"
Her brows furrowed, she was confused. Transfers are normal in this business, so what‘s the problem?
"What the fuck? Ref! That‘s a card!" your team mates argued, though the ref silenced your friends immediately.
-
"Ah!" you cried when your legs were taken out by someone in white once again. It was getting on Niamhs nerves. She was by your side in an instant, helping you up. Thankfully, the foul wasn’t as tragic as she thought it would be, the words 'broken ankles' haunting her.
And again, the ref didn‘t show a card towards the opposing team.
More snarky comments were sent her way throughout the game such as "she’s a whore", "it‘s sad that you’re in love with a loser", "she‘s nothing but a burden" and more.
It made her angry, furios even. How could they say something like that? So when yet another tackle came sliding in, she did the same. two can play a game, she thought.
Out of anger the young lioness pulled at a white jersey, drawing the foul. A yellow card was shown quickly, Niamh kind of proud of her card. She was protecting what she loved. And she really did love you, even if you didn‘t know that.
Sadly that hadn’t reduced her anger fully, just a bit. So, when the game was stopped due to a bloody nose (which belonged to you) all her madness was back and this time she wasn’t able to control it anymore. The whole game she had desperately tried to keep her cool, for her own sake, for you and for the team. But she couldn’t think anymore. You were bleeding. The Real Madrid player grinning as she watched you get treated.
When said person was near the defender, she stuck out her leg, body checking her to the ground. The opposing striker fell to the ground, rolling around, crying - being dramatic. Of course the ref immediately pulled the yellow card and showed it to Niamh.
The second yellow card which meant Niamh got sent off. There was no point in arguing with the ref, the decision was made and not debatable.
Niamh marched off the pitch, rudely replying to anyone that was near her.
-
The game ended 2-2.
you didn’t bother to shake hands with any of your former teammates but ran to the changing rooms.
You found the young Chelsea player sitting in the locker room, staring at the floor, hands holding her head, quiet sniffles escaping her.
"Hey" you whispered as you took a seat beside her, putting an arm around her which made her cry even more. She hugged you back, neither of you caring about each others sweat.
Trying to calm her down you cradled her head, whispering sweet nothings in her ear.
"What happened out there?"
Her posture stiffened, pulling back out of your grasps.
"Nothing" she turned away, avoiding your gaze.
"Niamh, something clearly happened out there and you‘re upset about it, talk to me"
The older girl was fighting an inner battle, embarrassed about her behavior and what her feelings had caused but not regretting fouling the other player just the outcome of it.
"Niamh-
"I‘m in love with you, okay?!" she looked at you, "i really like you and apparently everybody knows that but you" she admitted, cheeks turning red.
"You like me?" your eyes widened at her confession, it seemed impossible for someone like her to like someone like you.
Shrugging with her shoulders, she sheepishly replied, "Yeah"
"It‘s okay if you don-"
before she could finish her sentence, you slammed your lips against hers, your hands finding its way around her neck as hers went to rest on your hip.
"I do too"
"Finally!" you heard Sam yell, some other girls whistling at the sight in front of them.
This is my family.
-
That night you laid in the hotel bed with Niamh next to you, her hand holding yours as you both stared at the ceiling.
"Are we ever gonna talk about what happened at your time in Madrid?" she asked.
"Are we gonna talk about todays match?"
"Maybe some day" she replied and you did too, "maybe one day"
"But" the lioness sat up, prompting her weight on her elbow to look at you, "maybe i can take you on a date tomorrow" smiling shyly while she brushed a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
"I‘d like that"

How to Choose Between a Low-Interest Personal Loan and a No-Processing-Fee Loan?
Introduction
When applying for a personal loan, borrowers often face a common dilemma—should they opt for a low-interest personal loan or a no-processing-fee loan? Both options offer financial benefits, but selecting the right one depends on various factors like loan amount, repayment tenure, and total cost.
In this guide, we’ll help you understand the key differences between these two types of loans, their advantages and disadvantages, and how to make an informed decision based on your financial situation.
Understanding a Low-Interest Personal Loan
A low-interest personal loan comes with a lower annual percentage rate (APR), reducing the total interest payable over the loan tenure. This option is ideal for borrowers who plan to take a long-term loan and want to keep their overall costs low.
Key Features of a Low-Interest Personal Loan:
Lower interest rates (starting from 10% per annum).
Ideal for longer repayment tenures (up to 60 months).
Reduces total loan cost over time.
Requires a high credit score (750 and above) for approval.
Best Low-Interest Personal Loan Providers:
IDFC First Bank Personal Loan
Bajaj Finserv Personal Loan
Tata Capital Personal Loan
Axis Finance Personal Loan
Axis Bank Personal Loan
InCred Personal Loan
Understanding a No-Processing-Fee Personal Loan
A no-processing-fee loan eliminates the upfront charges that lenders usually impose while processing loan applications. These fees typically range from 1% to 3% of the loan amount, which can significantly increase the borrowing cost.
Key Features of a No-Processing-Fee Personal Loan:
No upfront charges, reducing immediate expenses.
Best suited for short-term loans (less than 24 months).
May come with a slightly higher interest rate.
Suitable for borrowers looking for quick and cost-effective funding.
Comparing a Low-Interest Personal Loan vs. a No-Processing-Fee Loan
1. Total Loan Cost
A low-interest loan saves money over time by reducing the total interest paid.
A no-processing-fee loan saves money upfront but may have a higher interest rate.
2. Monthly EMI Payments
A low-interest loan results in lower EMIs over a longer tenure.
A no-processing-fee loan may have slightly higher EMIs if the interest rate is higher.
3. Loan Tenure
A low-interest loan is better for borrowers opting for a longer tenure (3-5 years).
A no-processing-fee loan is ideal for short-term financing needs.
4. Upfront Costs
A low-interest loan usually involves a processing fee of 1-3%.
A no-processing-fee loan helps borrowers save on initial costs.
When Should You Choose a Low-Interest Personal Loan?
A low-interest personal loan is the best option if:
You are taking a high loan amount (₹5 lakh or more).
You plan to repay over 3-5 years.
You have a good credit score (750 and above).
You want to reduce your overall interest burden.
When Should You Choose a No-Processing-Fee Personal Loan?
A no-processing-fee loan is ideal if:
You need a small loan amount (₹50,000 to ₹2 lakh).
You are looking for a short-term loan (12-24 months).
You want to avoid upfront charges and save money immediately.
You are comfortable with slightly higher interest rates.
How to Choose the Best Loan Option?
1. Compare the Total Cost
Use an EMI calculator to compare the overall cost of a low-interest loan and a no-processing-fee loan based on your repayment tenure.
2. Check Your Credit Score
A higher CIBIL score (750 and above) qualifies you for a low-interest loan, while those with lower scores may benefit from a no-processing-fee loan.
3. Consider Loan Tenure
For longer tenures, a low-interest personal loan is more cost-effective. For shorter tenures, a no-processing-fee loan is beneficial.
4. Assess Your Financial Needs
If you need a large loan, opt for a low-interest loan to reduce interest costs. If you need quick funds with minimal upfront charges, choose a no-processing-fee loan.
5. Choose the Right Lender
Select a lender that offers the best personal loan option based on your needs:
Compare Personal Loan Options
IDFC First Bank Personal Loan
Bajaj Finserv Personal Loan
Tata Capital Personal Loan
Axis Finance Personal Loan
Axis Bank Personal Loan
InCred Personal Loan
Conclusion
Choosing between a low-interest personal loan and a no-processing-fee loan depends on your loan amount, repayment tenure, and financial goals. If you need a high loan amount for long-term repayment, a low-interest loan is the better choice. If you need a short-term loan with minimal upfront charges, a no-processing-fee loan may be ideal.
By comparing different lenders and using the right approach, you can make a well-informed decision and secure the best personal loan for your needs.

Accountant of Theed
Read on AO3
After all is said and done, someone needs to balance these books, and nobody actually told the accounting department how they paid for this new hyperdrive. Mimi really hopes it's not a loan from the Hutts.
Disclaimer: I am not an accountant, but I work in an adjacent field (and have been considering getting a certification, but that's neither here nor there). While I did take some courses on it, I asked an Accounting Person to look over the excel sheet before I went forward with the rest of the fic to make sure it's internally consistent. Thank you to @gnomer-denois for confirming my balance on these works!
The reconciliation sheet does NOT follow contemporary guidelines in terms of format etc, but that is because it is:
In space! Standard practice differs from Modern United States or what have you.
Not the primary balance sheet, just the simplified version made to show to Queen Amidala.
If you'd prefer to view the Excel sheet in a more easily navigable form, there is a google drive link available. This is also your best option if using a screen reader.
-----------------------------------------
Theed is safe. They are rebuilding. There is even financial support, aid, from the Republic.
It comes with strings attached. Oversight. Auditors.
Wouldn’t want Naboo to misuse funding after that nasty mistake with the Trade Federation, right? Sure, Naboo wasn’t the one at fault, but one can never be too careful...
Mimi, as an accountant for the government of Naboo, does not in fact want to commit fraud, or enable corruption, but the rolling audits do feel a little like the Republic is punishing them for getting invaded.
“Hey, boss?”
That tone. Mimi does not like that tone. “Please tell me it’s not another unauthorized purchase with a missing receipt. Which account did they pull from this time?”
“Um... we don’t know?”
Mimi gives them a moment. No elaboration is given.
“You don’t know?”
“We don’t know,” the younger employee repeats.
“What do you mean?” Mimi asks. “People charge things to accounts or cards. They forget to submit receipts. We hunt them down for receipts, and make sure nobody is skimming off the top. That’s how it goes. Unless this is a purchase on a personal and we need to reimburse—”
“Um, maybe?”
“In which—what? That’s just... okay. There’s a process for reimbursements. You aren’t following it, which means... what? What do you mean, you don’t know? Did they use cash, or pull from an account?”
The younger employee looks down at their datapad. Looks back up at her. Looks baffled and a little scared. “Um, it’s... we still don’t have a receipt, but we also don’t know where the money for it came from? But nobody’s put in a reimbursement request and I can’t imagine anyone on the mission had those funds on them, not even the Queen herself.”
“The money for what?”
“Um. It sort of just... showed up?”
“So, it’s some kind of gift?” Mimi presses.
“Too big,” the younger mumbles, refusing to meet her eyes. “It would have to be disclosed.”
“I am giving you five seconds—”
“It’s a hyperdrive!” they yelp.
“...Explain.”
“One of the mechanics was looking over the Royal Cruiser, and found that there was unrecorded repair work to the hyperdrive. The ship took enough damage during the escape that he wasn’t surprised, but then he noticed that it was from an earlier run of the part, and when he checked, the serial number was completely wrong. The hyperdrive was completely replaced.”
Mimi closes her eyes and takes a breath. “The mechanic doesn’t know?”
“He said there’s nothing in the records that matches it at all, and it’s a big enough part that there’s no way it would just slip through the cracks, not when it’s that expensive and going on the Royal Cruiser.”
“So,” Mimi says, “we have a part worth almost as much as the rest of the cruiser combined, that just... came out of nowhere, and nobody claiming for reimbursement.”
“Yes, ma’am. That’s what it looks like.”
Mimi has no interest in fraud.
“Find out who was piloting when Queen Amidala escaped, and see if they have any answers,” Mimi tells them. “If we can keep it to just the hangar staff without drawing in the Royal Retinue, it’ll be easier on all of us.”
“Here’s hoping, ma’am.”

invisible string theory
lena oberdorf x uswnt!bayern!reader
part one - part two - part three
summary: you're with her now, but you've known of her for longer than that.
warnings: long chapter, suggestive content
Tumblr media
back in the united states, you were heartbroken.
due to the contract that gotham had with lyon, there wasn’t a possibility that lyon could permanently sign you. the french club tried to sign you for another loan year with a mandatory buy option, but gotham didn’t want that.
so now you’re here, dressed in a gotham kit watching the team play the chicago red stars from the bench.
its the 70th minute and you had your arms crossed sitting on the bench. your national teammate, mallory, and your other friend midge sat beside you after coming off minutes before.
“my ankle is killing me, i might have to go to medic after this game ends.” mallory hissed as she held onto her ankle. sometime after halftime, a chicago red stars player kicked the back of mallory’s ankle on accident.
“you should, its bruised!” you say as you observe her ankle from your seat, your hands still crossed together as midge decides to hold your right arm in comfort.
midge turns her head and noticed the coach, yes the coach that's not happy with you, coming your way.
“y/n.” midge tapped your shoulder. you looked to your right to see the coach looking at you with an unreadable expression on his face.
“y/n, you should warm up, you’re going on in the 80th minute.” the coach says before going back to observe the game.
your eyebrows knitted together before you quickly took off your windbreaker jacket. being a benchwarmer the last two games since coming back from france was something you were starting to get used to until another club put in their offers.
the coach has received a bunch of hate in the media because of you. which kind of soccer coach wouldn’t start one of the best players in the world? well, a coach with an agenda– that's for sure.
being subbed into the game five minutes later, you already had the ball at your feet. as you run across the pitch and dribble pass a few chicago players, you pass up to carli lloyd.
the striker takes the shot but it deflects off of the post. luckily, the ball landed back on your blue cleat and you tapped the ball into the goal. opening up the score 1-0 for gotham before the 90th minute.
knowing your situation at gotham, you didn’t celebrate as happily as you did back when you scored at lyon. all you did was put your hands up high as your teammates gathered around to hug you.
“i’m pretty sure that this is a good moment after being back from winning the champions league in europe.” a commentator says as you go back into the starting position as an attacking midfielder.
“that’s my girl!” you heard midge yell from the benches. you look over to see her and mallory with the brightest smiles as you nod your head at them.
you loved your teammates, but you wanted to be at another club more than anything.
after the game that afternoon, your agent called you.
she said that many clubs in europe wanted to sign you– permanently.
that's all you wanted, you didn’t want to take a loan deal and attach yourself to another club just to come back here again. you wanted a new permanent home. it's 2020 and the transfer window in europe will close soon.
she said that psg was the first to put in an offer for you, but you immediately declined. somehow, you felt loyal to lyon and didn’t want to join paris.
the next clubs she mentioned were real madrid, manchester united, ajax, and aston villa. you declined on those as well, not really seeing yourself in those clubs.
even though bayern munich wasn’t the last club on the list, you were interested in that offer once your agent mentioned it.
your agent mentioned that the coach personally wanted you at the club, and the club offered a good amount of benefits.
so, after a few days of deciding, you were in germany signing a contract with the bavarian club until 2025.
over the months, you adjusted to the club perfectly. you got along with the girls, made a promise that you’ll learn to speak german, and your new best friend sydney was there to guide you.
in november 2020, you were in the starting lineup to play against wolfsburg.
this is your first time going up against the green team since you were with the french club, so you were ready to face them again.
as you were standing in the tunnel, you talked with lineth beerensteyn about what to expect. this is your first start with the club, since the coach wanted you to get familiar with the games first. this was fair and something you went through with lyon as well.
“its nice to face them again.” you respond to lineth after she asked you how you felt about wolfsburg. she smirks at you before pinching your shoulder.
“oh yeah– i forgot we have a champions league winner on our hands.” she laughed. you rolled your eyes playfully as you shook your head.
“don’t forget about the world cup.” sydney lohmann joins in. your jaw dropped as you shook your head again.
“okay let's not talk about me, lets talk about the upcoming match” you say.
“you’re right you’re right,” lineth laughs at her teasing towards you, “games against wolfsburg get pretty intense when you’re with bayern. they’re the “rivals” or whatever you want to say.” she continued.
“just make sure that you take advantage of any opportunity you see. some of the midfielders will go for your ankles so i’d watch out for that too. things can get heated” the dutch finished.
you nodded your head as you observed the wolfsburg players around the tunnel. some, like svenja and dominique, patted your back since you’re happy to see you again but in the bundesliga.
before you walked ahead to talk to sydney, you felt a hand on your left shoulder.
“so– what brings you here?” you look over your shoulder to see lena.
honestly, you forgot about her after the champions league final. you have her jersey in your apartment along with other players' jerseys you’ve traded with in the past, but things were stressful for you when you went back home.
“beating you again.” you teased. lena placed her hand over her heart before giggling,
“not that! i mean it's nice to see you in this league.” she says.
“oh danke– sorry– the adjustment here was easy thankfully.” you smile.
lena wraps her arm around your shoulder, causing you to feel warm on the inside, does she know what she is doing to you?
“that’s good– it would’ve been nice to see you in our jersey though.” lena whispers. you look over at her, your voice caught into your throat.
“um- no thanks. i would miss getting my ankles broken by you if we were on the same team.” you tease. she unwraps her arm from your body, and pats you on the shoulders with a smirk, before going back to where the wolfsburg substitutes are without saying anything else.
“y/n.. how do you know lena?” sydney walks up to you with her eyebrows knitted together. she looked curious, smiling, as you crossed your arms together.
“we met during some adidas event at the world cup. well- i met giulia actually but lena just happened to be there and-”
“and you guys are dating? why didn’t you tell-”
“woah syd slow down! we aren’t dating?” you cut her off.
sydney smirks at you before laughing, realizing what the conversation turned into.
“i’m sorry. you guys looked very flirty and familiar with each other.” sydney said as she rested her arm on your shoulder. you shrugged the other shoulder.
“I mean the last time I talked to her was at the champions league final last season. she's cute but i don’t know if she even sees me that way?” you whisper in sydneys ear.
you’re comfortable talking about this with sydney. she’s become your best friend since arriving in germany, but it feels like you’ve known her for longer than that.
“the way that she looked at you, i would say she does.” sydney comments.
you were going to question that but everyone started to lineup in the tunnel to head out. so, all you could do is wonder with your thoughts as you walked out to start the game.
a year later, you were waiting at the airport in wolfsburg after a last minute decision.
after that game in november 2020, lena and you started following each other on instagram. the both of you got each other's phone numbers and have been in touch everyday since.
due to not being on the same club team, or national team, you didn’t see lena much– if not at all.
randomly, as you were in your kitchen hours before– lena texted you.
obi
we should go to this new restaurant that opened up downtown wolfsburg
y/n
how? i’m in munich..
obi
check your email.
when you checked your email, you saw that she sent you a confirmation and a plane ticket for wolfsburg. you jaw dropped in the middle of your kitchen as you were finishing making a few pastries for the bayern girls.
y/n
did you really buy me a plane ticket to see you?
y/n
you’re insane
y/n
the flight is in three hours? you’re eager
y/n
where am i supposed to stay at?
obi
yes i did
obi
just for you
obi
you can stay with me. i have a spare room
you stood outside of the wolfsburg airport with a carry on bag waiting for lena’s car. luckily, there is no training or games scheduled since its thanksgiving break– so you had a day or two to spend with lena.
after talking for a year, you guys weren't official. its clear that you are in the “talking stage” with the wolfsburg midfielder, but you hoped that she will be your girlfriend soon– even with the distance.
as you looked down at your phone, watching a tiktok video that popped up on your fyp, you heard a loud car beep their horn.
ignoring that your heart nearly jumped out of your chest in fear, you looked up to see lena getting out of the drivers side of her car.
“obi!” you say as you grab your carry on bag. the german smiles brightly as she held her arms out for you.
when you hugged her taller body, the nerves in your stomach eased away. the warmth of her body and her coconut scent seemed to give you peace in those short seconds.
“hi liebe! how was your flight?” she whispered in your ear, not breaking the hug just yet.
her proximity to your ear made you feel something that you’ve never felt before. something you couldn’t say out loud.
“my flight was smooth, i had a row to myself.” you smile as you looked at lena’s blushed face.
you weren’t surprised about the small amount of people on the flight, it was an 6pm flight and plane rides from munich to wolfsburg weren’t long at all.
“that’s perfect. here, give me that.” lena held her hands out.
you were confused before you noticed that she was pointing at your bag. you gave her your carry on, which she gently put in the trunk of her car as you got into the passenger seat.
when you guys arrived to her apartment, you were quick to pull your adidas slides off and sit on her couch. lena smiled, happy that you made yourself comfortable in her space.
“it’s late, so i’m not sure if you want to do much.” lena says.
pulling your phone out of your pocket, seeing that it just hit 21:00, you agree.
“we could watch a movie.” you suggested.
“we can, but can it not be those horror movies you love seeing?” lena asked.
as much as you guys had in common, movies weren’t one of them.
lena loved disney animated movies and comedies, you loved horror films along with star wars.
“you know what we should watch!? we should watch the phantom menace! it's not horror!” you smirked.
lena rolled her eyes playfully, remembering a phone conversation you guys had in the past.
“I remember when you said that you wanted me to get you started on the star wars trilogies. it's a win-win for the both of us,” you stood up from the couch and held lena’s hands with your own. the close proximity made lena’s face turn a shade of pink.
“i get to watch star wars, and you get to watch a disney movie– since star wars is owned by disney.” you came closer, just inches from her nose hitting yours.
she's taller than you, so she looked down at you slightly with a questioning look.
“sure.” she says, distracted.
your boldness seemed to go away the same second that you stopped talking. your breathing slowed as you realized what you’ve done.
lena’s eyes looked down to your lips as you did the same with her.
the both of you are alone in her apartment, you realize that no-one would be there to distract you if she kisses you.
you didn’t mind.
the german moves her arms around your lower waist as you lean in to kiss her. as you made contact with her lips, your hands moved to the back of her neck.
the kissing got heated quickly. lena was clearly the dominant one in the situation as she lifted you up and your legs were around her waist, walking you to her bedroom.
and you know how things went afterwards!
before you left to go back to munich two days later, lena asked you to be her girlfriend.
you said yes, happy but sad to leave her so soon.
after another few months, it's july 2022.
unfortunately for you, you were out on a three month injury. your hamstring teared while you were on international break with the uswnt– so you were free to return to germany.
however, you didn’t go to germany. you wanted to support lena and the rest of your bayern girls at the euros in england.
you’ve seen the prep that your girlfriend lena has put into this competition. due to the distance, you don’t see her everyday– but you guys have perfected the routine of seeing each other when off-days align.
on the sidelines of the final with germany against england, you wore the green germany kit with some levi 90s jeans. of course, the kit had lena’s last name on the back.
some people might be offended that you, an american player of their national team, is wearing another countries kit– but you know the majority wouldn’t care, and neither did you.
lena deserved to be here at this moment you thought. there was no way that you weren’t going to support her beside her family,
“so, how long are you supposed to be off the pitch?” you looked over to see lena’s father speak to you, his german accent stronger than lena’s. the first half of the final ended and it's nil-nil and it could be anyone’s game.
you wore a black brace around your leg where the injury occurred, so you figured that he was talking about that.
“oh, i won’t be playing until the start of next season. so a couple of months– i have a grade 2 tear in my hamstring.” you respond, smiling as lena’s father nodded his head in understanding.
“you’ll be back out there soon!” lena’s mother spoke with encouragement. you smiled, happy that your girlfriend had sweet parents that treat you as if you were their own.
after talking to her family for longer, the start of the second half comes along. you’re anxious as both teams are keeping possession with the ball.
watching other teams in person is making you miss being out on the pitch playing.
all thoughts aside, your jaw drops as you watch ella toone from england put the ball in at the 62nd minute.
lena got a yellow card moments before for a tackle on your friend, georgia, who is coming to bayern soon. so, lena was already in a disappointed mood before this moment.
as the substitutes for germany and england were starting to come on, you started to feel anxious. you hated this feeling for teams that aren’t your own, but this happens everytime you invest a couple of hours into watching others– especially your girlfriend who you want to see with the euro trophy.
when lina magul scored the equalizer for germany, you put your hands up and clapped as you witnessed the german girls huddle around in a big group hug.
“come on obi!” you whisper to yourself, hoping that this was a fairytale where lena would score the winner for her country.
unfortunately for you, germany’s team, and the fans– chloe kelly taps the ball into the net in the 110th minute– giving england the lead in extra time.
deep down, you knew that was it. you looked ahead at lena with sadness in your eyes. however, you wanted to keep hope.
after the game, seeing lena accept the young player award with tears in her eyes broke your heart. this is something that you’ve never gone through before from the outside, since usually you are the player that needs the comfort of a non-player after a loss.
after thirty minutes of the award process– with the hard watch of england lifting the trophy you wanted lena to lift– lena pushed herself to walk towards her family and you.
at first, you thought she was going to go to her parents for a hug. you stepped back as you made sure that her parents were slightly in front of you.
lena, with dried tears on her face, looked at you and held her hands out. being at the front row before the field, you accepted her embrace– holding her with as much as possible.
she picks you up and pulls you over the barcade, making sure that your leg would be okay, so you’re standing on the pitch now.
“i know you might not want to hear this right now– but you did amazing throughout the tournament. i am so proud of you.” you whisper into her ear.
her strong arms squeeze your waist, a silent thank you that you’ll take it as. she holds you for another minute, knowing that what she needs is your love and reassurance.
as you lift her head up from your shoulder to look at you, she frowns as she closes her eyes. another tear flows down her cheeks but you’re quick to wipe it away–
“hey! don’t beat yourself up. you were the best player of the tournament, and i’m not just saying that because i’m your girlfriend.” you reassure.
you know what lena is thinking– what did i do wrong? was there anything else i could’ve done? did the yellow card send the team into failure? those thoughts were not unfamiliar to you when you lost games, but you’ve never played in a euros final.
“danke.” she smiles slightly.

TW // mental issues, mental absue, harassment, surgery/blood
I'm sorry this one is so long, but please carry on reading. It's a chance for me to not only speak about the situation but let out some steam too. It is unfortunate this announcement comes at the same time the flood occurs on the south of my home country (Poland) and I'm in the endangered zone, luckily so far safe, as I feel my head can't handle more stress.
It's been so long since I've been this personal online. I realized how I didn't feel the urge to vent for 3-4 years by now which is a sign of improving mental health. But my healing is still a process, and I'm afraid it's too hard to carry this rock alone at this point. I fought my thoughts if I should do this and I think just as deeply as I write right now. Yet, I know it's better late than never and I thank deeply my friends for helping me out recently as well as in the past in my lowest. I wholeheartedly owe my life to you.
I couldn't ask for better friends. As years verified, even long lasting relationships might be nothing but a mask and I had to learn the hard way. I ended a friendship of 13 years at the time over a misunderstanding. Other person I put my trust on was nothing but a groomer with morally corrupted sexual tendencies who would take advange of a group of minors while being the only adult among them, yet acting like a person much younger than all of them and pressuring all their mental issues on children instead of seeking help. The latter, I might speak of more in detail when I'm ready.
Long time ago I tried calling out for help but back then, the intrusive thoughts won; "Others have it worse, just work harder.", "No one will give you anything for free, no one will care.", "What people will think of you?". and I would only speak about these things in a closed circle of my friends.
I tried my best in silence by not giving up on my creative passion, working restlessly for years, improving. Hoping I could reach the point I can sustain myself purely on what I make.
But the problem is not being self-sufficient. And it's not about my art...
All of my life it has been me, my momma and my granny. The other two important figures weren't there for us, by choice. (which is hard to say if losing someone you loved is worse than not being cared for in the first place) My rather young self at the time didn't put much thought about it as I didn't understand it but something always felt wrong; my only issues at the time was being "that weird, quiet kid with little to no friends". But despite the hardships, my momma has always been my hero, working without a time for a break or rest so we could live happily, to afford something special from time to time.
However in 2014 my momma has been hospitalised and almost lost her life to wrongly treated ovarian cyst (cyst rapture), with enough blood loss to require emergency surgery...
From that point on things went downhill and the result of that we feel to this very day. To stay afloat we fell into a severe dept. (We didn't have any savings, could only rely on borrowing money or loans) And since I was a child as all of this happened, I've only learned about it all throughfully as I entered adulthood, so I wouldn't need to worry about anything and "just be a kid". Which I really understand, but it doesn't make it easier to handle.
And by now, for several years I keep on trying to earn money, so I could free my momma from this chain and let her live, not survive. I always wanted to get through this quietly, because I never, ever wanted to burden anyone with my home problems. But it grew to a point I might need to grab anything to climb towards the light
The goal is $10 000... which is scarily large number.
I list all the options but Kofi is preferred to keep track of the funds!
My commissions are HERE! (the sheet will receive a slight update in upcoming days) My Kofi is HERE! (Level 4 Tea is free headshot drawing every month!) HERE's other services I do (adopts, brushes, etc) I plan to do paid requests for my friday streams on occasion! Anything else I come up with I hope to include in here! Every person who donates will be part of "Thank you" list where I hope to shoutout everybody, cause every penny matters. I want this situation to end...

Baggage Chapter List
*****
You weren’t sure if your students prayed for your downfall after assigning them complex business cases to crack. But even if they didn't, you were starting to regret listening to Jungkook's suggestion. You missed the time when your students were your only worry. You weren’t stressed about school anymore. Unfortunately, you were experiencing frequent headaches in your business venture.
"What do you mean they won't pay?" You delegated business work to your people since you wanted experts to deal with issues you weren’t that familiar with. However, it seemed that was a regrettable decision too. Your accounts receivable manager told you the team couldn't collect your customers' debt.
"I'm sorry." The manager explained that the contract with customers was biding, so he didn't expect them to breach the terms. "They said they can't pay us on time since they're having difficulty with their operations."
"Tsk." You heard Jang Min make this sound on the other line. You were so stressed that you had to call your boyfriend and ask for business advice. As far as you know, Jang Min managed multiple lending companies. He would know what to do with delinquent debtors.
Sure enough, Jang Min rubbed his chin thoughtfully before covering his mouth with his hand. He looked as though he was deep in thought when he said, "Cолнышко мо, why don't you let my men handle those rats?"
"Rats?" Your brow knitted together as you gestured for your dejected manager to leave for a while. You were on speaker and didn't want your employees to think badly of you or Jang Min. You might be angry, but you care much about your team.
"Yeah, rats. Your debtors are filthy rats." Jang Min's face was unreadable. "My men would know what to do. Lee Sung-ssi will land in Korea in a few hours. Just say the word, and he'll handle them."
For some reason, Jang Min's way of helping left a bad taste in your mouth. Your heart was pounding, indicating that you wouldn't like whatever your boyfriend would say next. Still, you pushed through, "And how exactly will Lee Sung handle them?"
Jang Min paused—as if contemplating telling you the truth. He shrugged after a few minutes of deadly silence. "Lee Sung can visit them...they will talk. If the debtors insist on not paying, we can arrange some..." Jang Min trailed off, his eyes darkening. "Punishment."
You weren’t sure how you tolerated listening to your boyfriend despite your loud beating heart. Jang Min said the punishments range from mild to severe, depending on the loan amount. Some of his tactics involved intimidation and verbal threats, though he didn't recommend this as words didn't deter people. Harassment was an option, too. Lee Sung and the others could constantly call and show up at the debtors' houses and offices to scare them.
"We've batons and other weapons to—"
"Wait—Hold up." Your lips quivered as you stopped your boyfriend from speaking. You felt like your heart stopped beating, too. Was this true? Did the person you were dating really advise you to employ "Torture?" You gasped, taken by surprise. "You want me to give you the signal to torture my business clients?"
The thing about you was you gave people the benefit of the doubt. You had no reason to think Jang Min was lying when he said: "No, of course not, Cолнышко мо. The weapons are merely a front to scare them."
Your therapist told you to trust your instinct, but how could you do that when, deep down, your whole being was screaming at you to run away from Jang Min? How could you follow your instinct when Jang Min never gave you a reason to distrust him?
Jang Min had been nothing but good to you. He loved you. Most importantly, he trusted you.
"How about we talk later?" You knew it wasn't best to keep running away from the worry at the pit of your stomach. You avoided your boyfriend every time you didn't like what he did or said. Until now, you and Jang Min hadn't discussed your minor fight regarding Soobin from weeks ago. You thought it would go away once he ignored it.
It was a wrong assumption as you realized that your doubt and anger toward Jang Min had accumulated in your heart. But still... you couldn't—not right now. Not when your mind still couldn't wrap around the thought of Jang Min not being the person you thought he was. It's too speculative and distrustful.
Jang Min didn't hold the line longer. You didn't know why, but relief instantly flooded your veins once the line had been cut off. You sat on your chair, absentmindedly turning it, until you felt dizzy. It didn't help that your office door burst open, with Soobin barging in after eating a bar of chocolate.
"Mama! Mama!" The kid was uncharacteristically hyper. Soobin used to be a quiet child who could sense whenever you needed some space. But since Jungkook started babysitting him, Soobin's childish nature became more prominent.
Your head hurt.
"What are you two doing here?" You didn't want to sound accusatory, but your tone and glare directed at Jungkook said otherwise. Jungkook hovered around the door, smiling proudly at his overjoyed son.
"I picked up Soobin from school. The kid said he wants to see you." The pick-up was a stretch when Jungkook never left the school premises in the first place. Soobin was recently enrolled in preschool since he was almost four years old. You used to have a homeschool tutor for Soobin in France, but you figured your son needed to adapt to Korea’s school system. Besides, Jungkook couldn't always look after the kid; he needed to work, too.
Fortunately, Jungkook wasn't fired from the fast food restaurant he worked at after proving that he was hospitalized. His manager reassigned him to a different duty, though. Jungkook was now a food delivery rider in the restaurant's parent company. He ordered himself the cheapest meal and had it delivered at Soobin's school just so he could 'deliver' it there and watch over his son from the start until the end of his class.
Soobin ran to Jungkook when his teacher gave him the signal to go. The kid learned to sing and play a tambourine. He asked his father if they could visit you in the office as he wanted to show off his new skills.
Soobin did precisely that. He tried climbing onto your lap while excitedly shaking his instrument back and forth.
"Soobin sing!!"
Your head immediately pulsated when your son opened his mouth while still 'playing' the tambourine. It was the worst. You gritted your teeth in annoyance, your patience wearing thin.
"Soobin." You lightly grabbed your son's arms to get him to stop. You looked helplessly at Jungkook, too, but he was downright oblivious.
"Twinkle! Twinkle! Star! Soobin wonder! What! You are!" Soobin tried singing the song he had learned. Unfortunately, you didn't appreciate it. You unconsciously snarled at your kid.
"Stop it! Why won't you listen to me? You're so naughty!" You got Soobin off your lap and onto his own feet. You tried to purse your lips to control your temper, but it was too late. Tears filled Soobin's eyes.
Normally, Soobin would softly call out, "Ma?" to you, but the kid's changed. He didn't like your reaction, so he flopped on the ground, whining like a true toddler as he kicked his feet in the air.
You stared blankly at Soobin, unable to wrap your mind in the thought that, for the first time, you didn't know what to do to pacify your son.
"Mama! Mean! Mean! Hate me!" Soobin sobbed mercilessly; tears fell from his eyes. His cheeks were bright crimson because of frustration.
There was ringing in your ears. Distantly, you heard Jungkook call your name. You remained rooted in your seat, though. You physically couldn't tear your gaze from Soobin.
Crying. Soobin was crying because of you.
Jungkook was a wide reader who came across a book on how to calm an agitated child. If he wished, he could rush to Soobin and soothe him. But this wasn't his call to make. Soobin was yours before Soobin was Jungkook's. He couldn't impose but couldn't bear seeing such a heartbreaking scene.
Jungkook walked behind your back, gripping your shoulder. You froze, though you didn't shy away from Jungkook's touch. His warm hand was soothing. It gave you a sense of support, as though you could pacify Soobin on your own.
You could. But first, you had to calm yourself down.
"Breathe." Jungkook crouched down until his hot breath sprayed on your ear. "In and out. I'm going to count, okay? Be with me."
You followed the sound of Jungkook's voice until you felt your heart rate picking up its normal speed. You blinked as Soobin's cries filled your system, and suddenly, you crouched down.
"Oh, Mon bébé." You embraced Soobin, embracing him while continuously kissing his head. "I'm so sorry. Mama didn't mean to shout at you." You regretted not bringing pudding, but you figured it was best not to bribe your son with things he liked just to get him to stop feeling emotions.
Jungkook didn't say anything to you. However, that small gesture supporting your back pushed you to snap back to reality and calm down. You'd probably scream at Soobin more had it not been for Jungkook intervening.
You felt shame stabbing your heart.
"I'm sorry, Soobin. Mama is very sorry." You forced yourself to stop crying as you soothed your kid. Soobin wasn't an unreasonable child. He calmed down after you gave him a few kisses and hugs. You tried to explain the situation to your son as calmly as possible. Every time you ran out of words, Jungkook would rub your back and say you were doing well. It also helped that Jungkook smiled at Soobin to assure the kid everything was alright.
"Wanna sing my song!" Soobin demanded when you asked how you could make him feel better. Your head throbbed again, but you nodded at Soobin.
"Alright, Mon bébé."
Soobin played his tambourine while singing his song. You felt dizzy; thankfully, Jungkook was there to rub your back and lightly distract Soobin from overstimulating you. Soobin played his music at least five times before he got tired and distracted by other things.
"Lego!" He dropped his tambourine on the floor and ran to the other room where you stored his toys. Jungkook was about to go after him, but you advised him against it.
"Let him be." You massaged your temples. "You don't have to monitor him constantly, you know? I didn't know you were clingier than me."
Jungkook's lips protruded. He flopped down the chair beside you. "I'm not the one constantly attached to the baby monitor at home."
"That's cause you're with Soobin all the time!" You snorted. "You don't need a baby monitor to see him."
Jungkook didn't correct you, simply shrugging his shoulders as he busied himself, looking at the scattered papers on the table. Jungkook had thirty minutes to spare before his manager looked for him. He booked five deliveries using different names and canceled them before the orders were completed. This was not honest work, but Jungkook couldn't care less. He missed Soobin. He liked spending time with his son—with or without your push.
"What's this?" Jungkook could not control his mouth or hands. There were documents on your table. Jungkook picked up the paper that caught his attention. "You're having a hard time collecting debts? What happened?"
Jungkook's eyes moved fast. He got the gist of your problem, so he didn't mind it when you snatched the paper from him.
"Don't you have work to do?" You uttered coldly, the paper in your hand crumpling. It was Jungkook's cue to shut the fuck up, but he didn't. He couldn't. His hands and feet were cold as Lee Sung's face flashed in his mind.
He hadn't seen Lee Sung in months now. Jungkook wasn't sure if the case of him getting seriously injured deterred the loan shark from bothering him. Jungkook tried not to think about his problems, but he couldn't shake it off now that he had read something about loans.
"You're not..." Jungkook's mouth went dry. Ugly thoughts circled his brain. However, he tried to fight them off. You were not like Lee Sung. You wouldn't hurt people just because of money.
He changed his question, "How long is their debts overdue? Have you tried talking to them?"
"Jungkook." You crumpled the paper entirely. "I don't see how this is any of your business. Will you drop it? I'm already stressed as it is. Didn't you see how I snapped at my son? I..."
You inhaled sharply. You weren’t over what happened between you and Soobin earlier. It was your first big fight, and you both lost your temper. You didn't know what to do.
Jungkook was still antsy because of his issue with Lee Sung, yet his heart melted at seeing that you were struggling to adjust. Jungkook wasn't a stranger to business problems. He was like you before, afraid to voice his concerns as it was too stressful and it might affect his competency. He didn't want to appear like a sore loser before you.
You were headstrong and wouldn't shut up with your I told you so speech. But Jungkook didn't want you to go through the same problem he did. He wanted his best friend to be worry-free.
"You know Soobin throwing a tantrum is not bad, right?" Jungkook's tone was mellow.
It didn't comfort you at all. You splayed fingers over your eyes, "I don't know. He's a good kid, Jungkook. He never cries like that."
Soobin usually demands crab spring rolls and pudding, but he was well-behaved. Jang Min even claimed that Soobin would just sleep around a lot. It was shocking to see him crying and screaming.
But Jungkook assured him it was fine. "Kids who throw tantrums are not bad, okay? It just shows that they're comfortable around you. Do you think Soobin will act all vulnerable with you if he doesn't trust you?"
Jungkook made sense. You were similar to Soobin when you were a child. You refused to let out your whines and sobs in front of your mother and those people at the club for fear of punishment. But with Jisoo, you slowly learned to be vulnerable.
It should be comforting, yet a scoff left your mouth as you said sarcastically, "Is that why you didn't act 'vulnerable' around me before? Because you don't trust me?"
It was petty—an attempt to throw Jungkook off because what did he know about trusting people? However, you didn't want to be in this position anymore. It was a constant battle between your past and current self. You didn’t want to stay loyal to your suffering anymore.
And Jungkook was trying. He had never done anything wrong since he first got involved with Soobin.
"I'm sorry," you said immediately. Because trust, you realized, was a two-way street. You shamed Jungkook for what he did years ago, but here you were, one step forward and two backward with Jungkook.
"That's not fair of me." You held Jungkook's cold hand in an attempt to show sincerity. The bastard's hands were warm. You wanted to press your face against them. "You're trying to be helpful. I shot you down."
It's okay. Jungkook wanted to say because, like he claimed weeks ago, he was not in any position to snarl at you. But it wasn't working anymore. No one said breaking down walls would be easy.
Jungkook needed an axe to smash those damn cemented walls.
"Then don't shoot me down anymore." Jungkook didn't pull his hands away. He wished he could caress your face. "Let me help you.”
You tongued the inside of your cheek, looking hesitant, but you nodded.
Jungkook let out a long breath.
"Thank you." Then his face turned solemn. "There are many ways to make your debtors pay. I didn't see all your files, but I'm guessing they're merely accounts receivable?"
You did not want to have this conversation with Jungkook. You thought you were still discussing how to raise Soobin. You found yourself answering Jungkook's queries, though.
"Most are accounts receivable, yes." Your forehead creased. "But I have people who loaned money from my business."
"Are you taking legal action?" Suddenly, Jungkook couldn't breathe. His throat hurt—as if he was being choked. "Please listen to me. There's no point in imprisoning or employing violence to them."
"What do you take me for?" You scoffed, hiding your nervousness behind your mask. Shit. Did Jungkook know? Did he somehow figure out Jang Min's suggestion?
"No." Jungkook pulled you out of deep thought. "I'm just asking. It's not a good idea.”
He explained to you why legal action was not worth it.
"It's costly. The court will fix a payment date for them, but your debtors are not guaranteed to pay you. Besides..." Jungkook said imprisonment wasn't viable as it would hinder the debtors from paying you more. How could they make money if they were in prison?
"Sell your accounts receivable to factoring companies. You have products nearing the expiration date, right? They're in debt because they bought similar items from your company. You won't be able to sell most of them. This is Korea. We're strict about the dates, so just hand them as freebies to those who will pay you on a specified date. As for your loans receivable, waive the interest. Do you have an accountant in your firm?"
You couldn't follow how fast things were going. Jungkook solved your worries in seconds, and none involved pressuring your debtors illegally. They all sounded fair.
"I..." You blinked and wetted your lips, "Yes. I've several of them."
"Good. Schedule a meeting with them. You need management accountants to formulate strategies for you, but I have some tricks to speed up collection without hurting anyone. Are you familiar with the lockbox system?"
Your mind was floating. This was such a dreamy solution. Your weeks' worth of stress was rapidly crumbling down.
You smiled at Jungkook—a sincere smile. "Hold on for a minute. I'll call everyone involved, and then we can all discuss. Stay. I need you here."
Jungkook flashed a smile, too. He squeezed your hands. "I'm here, okay?"
You didn't mind that you were holding hands with Jungkook all this time. Good. Everything was good.
**** The first week of you and Jungkook teaming up to solve business problems passed without a hiccup.
You were both sleep-deprived, though.
"Drink." Jungkook placed a glass of hot milk in front of you. "You’re too hotheaded. Hotheaded people need milk to cool down."
"Tsk." You clicked your tongue, but you drank the milk in one go. "You're insufferable."
****
You faced some challenges in the second week. Fortunately, it was not something you and Jungkook couldn't handle.
"I miss Soobin," Jungkook complained while you were in a boring meeting.
"He's literally on the other side of the room."
Jungkook gave you a knowing look. You raised your hand in surrender. "Fine. I miss him, too. Go on, call him. If he doesn't quietly sit on your lap, I'll kick both of you out of this meeting."
"Always so violent, sweetheart."
You just shook your head. Jungkook was wrong. You didn't have it in you to kick him out anymore.
**** The third week was where you gave your all. It was finalized. Your company has partially recovered. It wouldn't take long before everything returned to normal.
"Thank you." You told Jungkook sincerely.
"No problem." Jungkook wiggled his brows playfully. "What are best—frie—"
It was painfully embarrassing (and endearing) to witness Jungkook looking for the right word to describe your relationship.
"Friends." You supplied helpfully. "We're friends now."
Relief washed over Jungkook’s face. It showed in his sparkly brown eyes.
"Thank you." The unsaid words went like this:
I won't fail you anymore.
****
The fourth week was when you proposed an official position for Jungkook.
"Join the company." You said without any hesitation. "Head strategist in finance. The team needs you."
It should be answerable by yes or no. Regrettably, Jungkook only murmured your name.
"What." You tried to remain calm despite feeling your heart falling. Jungkook was rejecting you. "You ventured with Jimin before, didn't you? This isn't any different. I guarantee you the pay is good. It's more than what you make as a delivery rider."
It wasn't said out of spite. You simply stated a fact, but Jungkook's lips were tightly shut.
The words 'come on, bastard' were at the tip of your tongue. You didn't voice it out, opting for a safer approach.
"You've done a good job saving us all. I owe you one." You patted Jungkook's shoulder and squeezed it in a friendly manner. "Let me treat you to a fancy dinner, alright? I already bought you a suit. Wear it. Forget everything first and have fun with me there."
The silence ballooned. You popped it after a few seconds.
"Then, at the end of the night, you can tell me your answer about the offer. See you, Kookie."
Kookie.
Jungkook's breathing hitched; by the time he could react, you were long gone.
****
In spite of his doubts, Jungkook was happy to go on a date with you.
A date.
Jungkook snorted at himself. He was pretty sure you didn't see your meeting as a date, but it didn't stop him from daydreaming. Months ago, his life was so messed up that he wished he could end it all. Now, though...
Jungkook looked at his figure in the mirror. He cleaned up nicely. The white suit you bought for him was akin to royalty. He knew you spent a fortune on this one.
It's going to be okay. Jungkook cheered, a rare thing he did. It was just dinner—he'd casually talk to you, and just like you said, you would have fun.
Your meeting was timed at 7PM. Jungkook went to the washroom to freshen up, expecting you to arrive when he returned to your reserved table.
Sadly, there was no sign of you anywhere.
Jungkook looked at the time: 7:35PM. It was rare for you not to show up on the dot, causing him to check the date.
He didn't get it wrong, though. You were really scheduled to go out tonight. Perhaps you had a difficult time looking for a babysitter?
But if so, why didn't you contact him?
Jungkook shook his head slightly. Never mind. He'd just wait for some time.
****
The clock said 8:15PM, but you hadn't arrived yet.
****
9:24PM and there was still no sign of you anywhere.
****
10:13PM
Jungkook brought out the company phone you lent to him.
Are we still up for tonight? He asked.
There was no response.
****
10:28PM
Jungkook's stomach growled. The server asked if his company would still be coming.
"She is." He said as he drank his sparkling water.
His stomach growled, but he had no money to order food.
Frankly, he wasn't in the mood to eat either.
****
11:08PM
Jungkook asked for the bill. He paid a small amount since he only ordered water.
"I guess my friend isn't coming at all."
The waiter looked at Jungkook apologetically.
It's okay. Jungkook wanted to say. I've been through worse.
The walk out of the restaurant and into your home was layered with lavender haze. It wasn't raining, but a storm was brewing in his heart.
Jungkook looked up at the sky. It wasn't okay.
****
11:42PM
Jungkook arrived at your house. He still lived with you. Truthfully, You gave him a spare key to go in and out of the house whenever he wanted. However, Jungkook wasn’t sure he could enter as he pleased because outside your home was an Aurus Senat car. Jungkook had the worst timing—he saw you hopping out of the vehicle; your expression was soft as you looked at the other person getting out of the car.
It was a man. Jungkook couldn’t see the man’s face as he was carrying a sleeping Soobin in his arms. The mysterious man stood near you, crouching down a little to give you a slow kiss.
Oh.
Pain flashed in Jungkook’s eyes as he witnessed the scene before him.
You were dating another man.
Jungkook knew he wasn’t entitled to feel anger or jealousy. Unfortunately, those were the exact two emotions that engulfed his heart—jealousy being more apparent than the other.
The green monster screamed at Jungkook to storm over there, possessively wrapped his arms around your waist, and carried Soobin in his arms.
That’s my child. Jungkook’s jealousy was taking control.
And you. You were….
Jungkook’s thoughts had been cut off when someone sneaked behind him. The emotions he had yet to process went down the drain in an instant—it was replaced by fear when he felt a cold metallic blade hovering on the side of his stomach. It was followed by an overly saccharine greeting.
“Hello there, Jungkook-ah. Long time no see.” Jungkook froze. The man behind him chuckled. “Stay with me for a while, hmm? We can’t have you ruining a perfect family reunion, right?”
The man harshly angled Jungkook’s face toward your direction to see the perfect image of a family.
Jungkook’s heart clenched, but he didn’t have it in him to feel jealous anymore. His days were numbered.
Lee Sung was back.
