2. volunteer, help others, donate, etc. support planned parenthood and other abortion clinics. help out fellow working class citizens. help impoverished and homeless individuals. unionize, fight for workers rights. support others in any way you can.

3. avoid consumerism as much as possible. advocate for environmental laws and against oil companies. grow your own food. i have always had terrible luck with plants and i grew a bunch of peppers and tomatoes this year, you just need a lot of plant food/fertilizer and sun for them. learn to compost and use food scraps. learn to be as self sufficient as possible. stop using other unethical companies, like amazon. for those who can afford it, try to stop buying from large corporations in general, support local and small businesses. stop buying as much clothes, don’t buy fast fashion. learn essential tools like diy and patching up clothes.

4. VOTE in local, congressional and state elections. make sure your id is up to date and you’re registered to vote. it’s extremely important to vote every time you can, we need to elect better officials and get conservative politicians out of the supreme court, electoral college, healthcare and school districts, etc.

5. LEARN ABOUT CYBERSECURITY. this is vital. if you’re an active protester and activist, the government will consider you a threat. you need to get a VPN (Mullvad doesn’t collect user information, they were raided and weren’t holding any customer info.) you need to use adblock, ESPECIALLY with social media getting worse and worse with advertisements. you need to use a virtual machine when downloading/pirating, and you need to check the fule for viruses. you need to use secure browsers (Brave, Tor, Librewolf, even Firefox.) use your antivirus. 9. it’s been said by many, but delete period trackers, get contraceptives, birth control, and various other ways to prevent/counteract pregnancy, and don’t relinquish any information about potential pregnancies to anyone.

10. vaccines are in danger of going away in america, it’s extremely important that you start getting vaccines as soon as possible.

MK1 is such a bizarre experience bc on one hand some characters have benefited a lot from the "universe reset" (Baraka, Reptile, even arguably Shao who is less than a muahahaha conquer villain but someone who actually seems to care about his realm?). Others kind of raise interesting questions, like Shang Tsung : is he doomed to be bad or can he be good for a change? (In the story he choses to become a snake-oil salesman before joining the imperial family + there is an Union of Light Shang Tsung so him being good is a thing that could happen).

But then, instead of using that full reset NRS just leaves some things the same? Like. It's a reset. In 2023/2023. That was the perfect moment for implementing some (maybe not lots) changes. Perhaps starting making Johnny canonically bi? Just a small ripple towards a bigger change? Instead of getting stuck in same old ways?

I hated that they essentially just switched Liu Kang and Raiden's places. I started MK1 right after MK11 that i was furious to see Raiden chosen as the champion (IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY BOY KUNG LAO LET HIM SHINE ISTG) and then flirting with Kitana with Liu Kang's exact line (I hope we meet again under different circumstances)??? Tf??

I understand that some plot elements are too good to change but character romances? Don't replace one side of the pairing, then try to serve it to the audience again! Reboot should give us more variety of character designs, stories, dynamics, and relationships. Give us the genderbent, queer, poc characters BC YOU'RE NOT EVEN SACRIFICING ANYTHING when we literally have infinite alternative timelines you can recall classics from. For example, we have our human Raiden and old man titan Raiden. We can do variety. I wanna see female Fujin, i wanna see Scorpion Harumi and fighter Suchin, i want actual deserved queer representation in Kung Jin, and i. wanna. see. canon Johnshi!

My hypothesis is that NRS is gonna bring in mk children through dimensional travel so that they don't need to age up our current characters. Listen, i loved Sonya and Johnny in previous games, her and Cassie were a huge part of Johnny's character arc, but since Johnny is already maturing by the end of mk1, i don't see a point in Cageblade anymore (very controversial but it's my blog so i will yap as much as i want) We are not erasing anything by possibly making Johnny queer. Johnny and Sonya can be married in different timeline and Cassie is still their child. If anything, we are enriching the character, expanding the universe. Really, I don't wanna buy the exact same game story in different graphics. I don't want to see Suchin die again just to serve Kenshi and Takeda's dynamic.

And don't even get me started again on heteronormality of the game. We have 6 realms that have diverse variety of biological and sociological configurations AND YOU'RE TELLING ME THEY ARE ALL HETEROSEXUAL?? I just want you to know that there is no pigeon breeder, companion or otherwise, that is making a profit off of their birds, other than a few extremely rare exceptions.

There is not much money to be had in the hobby. The grand majority lies in pigeon racing, which while not my favorite thing in the world still isn't as bad or evil as some people make it out to be.

Even the money to be made in racing is usually not enough to turn a profit. A racer who wins one race a year of a couple thousand dollars almost certainly made nothing back doing that. And if they did, it was probably enough for gas money.

Why is this the case, then, in so much of the hobby?

It boils down to one thing: pigeons are expensive.

Buying them, acquiring their food, the necessary supplies, building housing, maintaining housing, medical treatments, treats and supplements, etc.

Cutting corners on these things does no breeder or racer any favors. If you aim to show your birds or to have them perform for sport, and you want them to win, you have to invest in them.

You want your racers in peak condition. You want your show birds looking their absolute best. These things don't happen by accident - you have to make them happen by providing the right things to your birds.

And that is a money black hole. It's gone and it is never coming back.

There are a few scattered places in the world where the prizes for shows or races are astronomically huge, and these are the only people making significant money off of pigeons.

Racers in Belgium, for instance. At the highest tier of racing a pigeon can sell for a million dollars. More.

But you should view that as the same kind of separation between the average middle class citizen and a billionaire oil executive. The number of people who are walking away with that kind of money is astronomically tiny.

Another very wealthy area of the world for pigeons are sections of the Middle East. Essentially if it is a prosperous area, the hobby is prosperous.

Saudi Arabia is known for a growing market of rare morph falconry birds and yes, for pigeon breeding.

My understanding is that they show and sell these birds. They are extremely beautiful animals. And I have seen some truly insane prices.

But they are re-investing their money too. If you look at the lofts of the rich in the Middle East they are. Utterly gorgeous. I'm not sure there is better housing to be found on planet earth.

They are obsessively clean, filled with artistic detail, and extremely spacious. Some of them look as if a little temple has been built for these pigeons. I think one of my friends once told me he had seen stained glass in one.

Companion breeders are not rich. At least none that I know. They will charge you upwards of $100 for a pigeon, and none of that will be a profit for them.

It will offset some of the costs they have invested to keep their pigeons at their best, but not by much.

I know some people have assumed that price tag is greed, in the past, but that's not the case.

It's a deterrent. If you aren't willing to pay the front cost on a bird significantly cheaper than any parrot larger than a budgie, are you going to be willing to pay for vet fees later down the line? To provide the animal with the best care it can get?

It's a test. If you shy away at the last moment to go pick up an instant gratification bird that costs $25 from an unverified source, you failed it. You annoyed that companion breeder, but at the end of the day you proved they didn't want you to have one of their birds anyway.

Don't go into breeding to make money. You will only lose it.

Since the topic of glue seepage is coming up again I figured I would share my method, which is a combination of the Totally Awesome Soak and the Tea Tree Oil Method that I was using back in the day lol Keep in mind this method is a lot more labor intensive (and expensive because TTO is expensive) than most so it's likely not the best method for people who regularly collect Mattel dolls from that era or have large MH collections, but I do not frequently buy dolls with glue head so it works for me and I like the results so I thought I'd share lol TTO also has a risk of dissolving face paint (and will dissolve the scalp paint) so you have to be really careful with this method lol Another thing to note is that Oil can degrade certain plastics so there may be a risk of future damaged caused by the use of Tea Tree Oil on doll heads. This is a risk I'm willing to take, but it might not be for you, and there are better methods out there that cost less, have less required labor and are likely safer. While the TA method is definitely the best solution with the lowest amount of risk imo, I wanted to see if it would be possible to not just stabilize/harden the glue but completely dissolve it because I had worries about the glue eventually yellowing the scalp or interacting with the vinyl over time lol Tea Tree oil works well at dissolving liquified glue on the surface of the scalp, but it’s not very good at dissolving the thicker/harder (but still unstable) glue inside the head (and it’s hard to wash out) so i figured that an introduction of Totally Awesome into the mix would do something- and it does:

(Webarella after 1.5 weeks of treatment with no glue left inside her head, on any plugs or the inner surface of the scalp- with the exception of two tiny crumbs of hardened glue that rinsed out right after this lol) Another potential issue is that most glue-heads do not have knotted plugs inside the scalp, so there is an increased risk of the hair falling out once you dissolve the entirety of the glue- for this reason I recommend detangling your doll prior to glue removal so that you don’t have to do any hard pulling once you’re done de-gluing and ready to style! You can also re-glue the hair once you're done with a more reliable, non-leaky vinyl glue like E6000 or Liquid Fusion, that reroot artists typically use to secure plugs. I haven’t experienced any hair loss as a result of this (and I do a lot of shit to my dolls when I style their hair- tugging, flat ironing, washing etc) but I figured I would leave a warning lol  Tutorial below the cut!

Glue Melting Ritual (evil)

Things you’ll need for this dark ritual: -Tea Tree Essential Oil (preferably a large bottle)

-LA’s Totally Awesome household cleaner

-Two plastic syringes

-Shallow bowl

-Virgin sacrifice, optional Step 1- Remove doll head Step 2- Shampoo and rinse with hot water, from the faucet is fine

Step 3- Fill bowl with 50%  hot/scalding water and 50% Totally Awesome, keeping the water level below the doll’s face paint- just above the hairline is good Step 4- Lay dolls head upside down (neck hole facing up) into the bowl, making sure the water is not touching any face paint Step 5-

Shoot a quarter-syringe of tee tree oil directly into the dolls neck hole, rotating the nozzle inside to coat the entire inside scalp- BE CAREFUL, tee tree oil can melt face paint, this cannot touch the doll’s face.  Step 6-

Shoot Totally Awesome inside the neck hole until completely full- make sure you use two different syringes for TTO and TA so as to not contaminate the TTO and TA containers  Step 7- Place bowl somewhere safe, making sure not to jostle it around.

Step 8- Leave soaking for 24 hours, then rinse and scrub head with hot water and Dawn dish soap (you can leave it for longer but I like to redo it every 1-2 days), you’ll know it’s time to redo when the water is cloudy and full of dissolved glue Step 9- Fill head with water and shoot it into the sink until chunks of glue stop coming out- knocking the head (neck hole down) against your palm is good too Step 10- 

scrub and rinse with dish soap again to make sure the face is clean Repeat steps 1-10 until the head is completely squishy and there is no glue visible inside the head- it takes me about 1-1.5 weeks to completely de-glue a doll Step 11- Rinse and clean the inside of the head with dish soap and water, then scrub and shampoo hair and face until all glue and oil are gone (repeat 2-3 times each)

Note: do not stop scrubbing and rinsing the hair until the dish soap is able to form suds; if there are no suds, the glue and oil haven’t been broken down by the soap. Step 12- Condition and leave to dry- if the hair still feels oily or gluey once dry, repeat step 11 Step 13- Reattach head and style! Step 14- Thank the dark lord for your glue-free doll head, perhaps with an animal sacrifice under the full moon

Wash your hair around 3-4 times a week so you are not washing out the natural oils that keep your hair healthy but washing enough that your hair is clean and looking healthy - I recommend Garnier hair food as they have different ones for different hair types

Use cute scrunchies instead of tight elastics. Tight elastics can break and damage your hair whereas scrunchies are more gentle on your hair and they are also super cute. You can get scrunchies from almost anywhere that sell accessories

Change your hairstyles. Experiment with different hairstyles and see which ones you like and which ones suit you best. You can also experiment with different hair tools that help make a super cute hairstyle such as fake buns and ponytails, curling wands and straighteners, styling tools, headbands etc

Do not use too many heat products on your hair as this can damage your hair, if using a heat product is essential to keeping your hair looking fresh everyday than use heat protection to lessen any damage

Develop a skin care routine, this could even just be using a face wash before bed, using a moisturiser or washing your face with water every morning and night, find products or a routine that works for you and your skin

Treating others with care and consideration is so important and treating people well can make people perceive you better and you can make lots of new friends

Treat people the way you want to be treated. This is so important and it can help you recognise when your actions may be hurtful and it can help you to understand how to treat someone

Be more empathetic. Being the person someone can come to to find empathy and understanding feels amazing, being more empathetic can open your mind and help others

Think before you speak. Thinking about what you say or do before you say or do it is so important to not come across as rude or hurtful, I personally use to have a hard time thinking before I spoke but now I try my best to think about how the things I want to say will make someone feel
