Best Color Trading App: Exploring the Future of Digital Ownership and Creativity
In the digital era, the concept of ownership has extended beyond physical objects to include virtual assets such as cryptocurrencies, NFTs (non-fungible tokens), and now, even colors. The idea of trading colors as digital assets has gained traction, offering a unique blend of creativity, technology, and investment potential. If you're curious about this emerging trend, finding the best color trading app is the first step to unlocking a world of digital possibilities.
Tumblr media
This article will explore what makes a great color trading app, highlight some of the top platforms, and explain why color trading is poised to become a significant aspect of the digital economy.
What is a Color Trading App?
A color trading app is a digital platform that allows users to buy, sell, and trade colors as unique digital assets. Each color is represented by a hexadecimal code, which is a six-character string that defines a specific shade in digital design. For example, the color code #FF5733 represents a particular shade of orange. On a color trading platform, these codes are treated as unique assets that can be owned and traded, much like NFTs or cryptocurrencies.
These colors are not just arbitrary codes but can carry significant value based on their rarity, aesthetic appeal, or cultural significance. The ability to trade colors opens up new avenues for artistic expression, investment, and even branding, making color trading apps a fascinating blend of creativity and commerce.
Key Features of the Best Color Trading App
When choosing a color trading app, several features are essential for ensuring a secure, enjoyable, and profitable experience. Here’s what to look for:
1. User-Friendly Interface
A top-notch color trading app should offer an intuitive and user-friendly interface. Whether you're a seasoned trader or a newcomer, the app should be easy to navigate, with clear instructions on how to explore the marketplace, buy, sell, and manage your color assets.
2. Secure Blockchain Technology
Security is critical in digital asset trading. The best color trading apps leverage blockchain technology to ensure that each transaction is secure, transparent, and verifiable. Blockchain also guarantees the uniqueness of each color, preventing duplication and ensuring that your ownership is securely recorded.
3. Diverse Marketplace
A vibrant and diverse marketplace is crucial for a dynamic trading experience. The app should offer a wide range of colors, from basic shades to rare and culturally significant hues. The marketplace should also allow users to explore trending colors, discover new shades, and participate in auctions for exclusive colors.
4. Custom Color Creation
One of the most exciting features of color trading apps is the ability to create and mint your own colors. This feature allows users to experiment with different color values to generate unique shades, which can then be minted as NFTs and traded on the marketplace. Custom color creation adds a personal and creative dimension to the trading experience.
5. Social and Community Features
Color trading is not just about financial transactions; it’s also about creativity and community. The best apps include social features that allow users to connect with others, share their collections, and discuss trends. Look for apps with user profiles, community forums, and chat options to make trading a more interactive experience.
6. Cross-Platform Accessibility
In today’s multi-device world, cross-platform accessibility is key. The best color trading apps are available on multiple platforms, including smartphones, tablets, and desktops. This ensures that you can manage your portfolio and engage in trading activities no matter where you are.
7. Integration with Digital Wallets
To facilitate smooth transactions, the app should integrate with popular digital wallets, allowing users to buy, sell, and trade colors using cryptocurrencies or traditional payment methods. This integration makes transactions secure and convenient.

The Appeal of Color Trading
Color trading is more than just a novel idea; it taps into several important trends in the digital world that make it appealing to a wide audience:
1. Digital Ownership and Scarcity
As more aspects of our lives move online, digital ownership becomes increasingly important. Owning a specific color verified through blockchain technology offers a new way to express creativity and individuality in the digital realm. The scarcity of certain colors, coupled with their aesthetic and cultural value, can drive demand and create a unique marketplace.
2. Artistic and Creative Expression
Colors play a fundamental role in art, design, and branding. By owning and trading colors, artists, designers, and brands can leverage this new form of digital property to enhance their creative work. For example, a designer might purchase a unique shade to use in a high-profile project, knowing that no one else can legally replicate that exact color.
3. Investment Opportunities
Just like NFTs, colors on a trading platform can appreciate in value over time. Rare or trending colors might become valuable assets, offering users the opportunity to invest in the digital market. As the concept of color trading grows, it could open up new avenues for digital investment and speculation.
4. Community and Social Interaction
Color trading apps often foster a sense of community among users. Participants can discuss trends, share their collections, and collaborate on creative projects. This social aspect adds another layer of engagement, making color trading not just a financial activity but also a social one.
How to Get Started with a Color Trading App
Once you’ve chosen a color trading app, getting started is straightforward. Here’s a quick guide to help you begin your color trading journey:
1. Download the App
Find the app in your device’s app store (Google Play for Android or the Apple App Store for iOS) or download it directly from the official website. Make sure you’re downloading from a trusted source to avoid any security risks.
2. Create an Account
Sign up for an account by providing your basic information, such as your email address and a secure password. Some apps may require you to link a digital wallet for transactions.
3. Explore the Marketplace
Once your account is set up, explore the marketplace to see the range of colors available. You can browse by category, search for specific colors, or check out trending and popular shades.
4. Start Trading
To start trading, you can purchase colors directly from the marketplace or participate in auctions. If you’re interested in creating your own colors, use the custom color creation tools to mint your unique shades and list them for sale.
5. Engage with the Community
Join community forums or chat groups within the app to connect with other users, share your collections, and discuss trends. Engaging with the community can provide valuable insights and make your trading experience more enjoyable.
Conclusion
The best color trading apps offer a unique combination of creativity, security, and community, making them an exciting option for anyone interested in digital assets. Whether you’re a digital artist looking to explore new creative avenues, an investor seeking the next big trend, or simply someone intrigued by the concept of color ownership, a color trading app provides a platform to engage with this emerging market.
As digital ownership and NFTs continue to grow in popularity, color trading is poised to become an increasingly important and influential part of the digital economy. By choosing the right app and following best practices, you can maximize your experience and unlock the full potential of this innovative trend.

HOW TO USE MOZILLA ADD-ONS ON YOUR PHONE
if you already use firefox on android, you'll know there are certain add-ons compatible with the app, some of them even being made just for the mobile version such as Video Background Play FIx. while most of them are pretty useful, some more specific ones aren't available on this version of the browser, but there's a way of getting some of them to work
you need to download the firefox nightly app, which is basically the same as the regular firefox browser but with the ability of activating developer mode. you can find how to do that here. once you've enabled it, you need to create a collection with all the add ons you want. i wouldn't recommend adding extensions if the creators haven't talked about phone compatibility, but XKit and Shinigami Eyes should work
also, don't tell the government this secret skater move, but you can try using both the regular firefox browser and nightly so you can have youtube videos in a floating box while you browse social media.
Tumblr media
see? i can block this terf while Rick Rolling the people following this tutorial. isn't that tubular?

"The external world does not have the same understanding that the internal one does- some things must be hidden for the continued peace and/or online safety of the system. (eg, Fakename1, bi lesbian, should not get involved with identity discourse. Fakename2, a fictive who was considered a grown adult in her source world but is a minor in this one, cannot interact with nsfw spaces/content and express her sexuality without claiming the body's age instead of her own.)"
"We made it a rule to not get apps or make purchases online without consulting others. This is in part to help make sure impulse purchases are less likely, as well as to help give some protection against viruses and such."
"We use Lighthouse, which allows each member to keep their own private journal. We made an agreement that we wouldn't look at anyone else's journal without their express permission, which we don't ask for unless we have to. This is primarily so we don't have to deal with individual passwords, but we've also carried this over onto other sites, such as chatrooms on Simply Plural, which are chats that are meant for us to have private conversations, and no one is allowed to look in a chatroom they aren't a part of unless invited in another channel."
"We decided that we would keep any and all in-system romantic relationships private. We've seen a lot of people being weird about them, and we didn't want to deal with that. We made this rule when two of our members decided to start dating. We've considered extending this rule to *any* in-sys relationship, as we've seen others being weird about even siblings who are siblings in-source, but at the moment it's just romantic relationships we keep private."
"Our main rule is no self-harm that could permanently damage the body, and no putting the body in situations you know are dangerous."
"As an adult system, we do allow our system members to drink, but the rules remind them that the body's tolerance is low. As drugs including weed are illegal where we live, it is against the system rules to have them, or smoke nicotine."
"Follow server rules is another one, which includes a subclause about persecutors not being an asshole to people we like to try to push them away."
"In our system we allow tattoos, piercings, and hair dye, but we ask that system members think about what would look nice on the body rather than just what they want. We kinda view the body as a dress up doll."
"Be kind and considerate to other members and to people outside the system unless necessary / it's to avoid harm to another or ourselves - this includes asking everyone involved with something that happened for permission for sharing details about said thing, especially ones that are more personal to them, not joking about, say, someone's source if they don't want it even mentioned, etc."
"if there are walk-ins asking to join the system (because our system works like that,) we need to make sure everyone consents to them being around, ESPECIALLY people who oppose them / the orgs they're a part of insource (ex: our hsr boothill fictive when considering IPC members, etc.) we can't exactly just disengage if we're uncomfortable, as our ability to hold our mental tongues / walk away from insys conversation is unreliable at best and just useless at worst, so we're extra careful with who we consider part of the system."
"no claiming to be Literally Part of X Culture when we're bodily not. members can, like, unclaim our bodily race / culture if they feel like it - most of us don't resonate with the body's ethnic experience, even if we do live it - but claiming to be say, black when we're actually 100% not black will never be on the table. this also means no joking about other people being X race, no making comments, etc."
"no purposely using slurs / derogatory terms towards other members or other people irl. if we know something is a slur and someone uses it as an insult knowing it's a slur, that's breaking this rule."
"no yelling or screaming / argue quietly and don't be mean about it, even if someone's being stupid. this one actually started as a way to tiptoe around trauma triggers (waves in trauma holder host) but then we realized that this has 100% helped our own conflict resolution skills and made it an actual thing."
"if someone brings up something they want to do and the brain pushes back, it's off the table 100% until further notice. we have autistic PDA so it's not like it's just a preference; we literally can't branch out that much."
"if two people are hanging out alone in front and are not partners, they must call another person to be a "buffer" the moment someone catches intrusive feelings for another, especially if they're siblings and/or if one is an adult and the other is a minor. i know!! this sounds extremely problematic! so some context: sometimes, our OCD will force members to get crushes on other members, especially if the one of them is being hyperfixated on, and it's always with people that cannot date without one or both going to jail. **it's not something we want**; it shows up and goes away at random and everyone involved hates it the entire time, but we have to deal with it anyway so that's why we have this rule. attempts to just. walk away from co-con for the time being and wait it out just don't work because they'll just teleport back, so we call up a buffer (90% of the time one of the people involveds' actual partner, because of course the brain chooses people in existing relationships too) to distract the brain with jangly headmate-shaped keychain."
"No one is allowed to touch alcohol or drugs."
"Do not intentionally do anything to harm self or others."
"Cursing is banned(with exceptions for words we are more comfortable with)."
"Any breaking of the rules will result in a temporary ban from fronting or certain areas of the inner world depending on where the rule breaking took place."
"All other major decisions must be put to a vote"
"Take the meds everyday"
"Respect the headmates' relationships"
"Respect the body"
"Reach out to our partner systems if needed or in danger"

Tumblr media
Bradley Bradshaw’s going to pay for this. You glare at your reflection in the mirror, tentatively poking at the discolored and swollen skin on your jaw where Bradley’s fist connected last night. You wince slightly at the pain. You’ll probably have Bugs look at it once you get to work. You glance down at the tube of concealer in your hand, torn between covering up the mark for the sake of your dignity and leaving it exposed to send a message to Bradley. You err on the side of leaving it be as you get ready for your day. You can’t help but wonder if the lavender suit you’re wearing today mixes well with the color on your jaw.
By the time you make it to work, your injury is far from your mind, that is until you pass through the training room on your way to the office and Mickey stops you instantly, his usually carefree smile falling away into barely-concealed fury. “Zam, what happened to your face?” He reaches a gentle hand to skim the bruised skin and you wince slightly at the pain that radiates from the contact. “It wasn’t that guy was it?” The guy in question is a stranger on a dating app that Mickey insisted you give a shot to in an effort to diversify your life beyond work. You shake your head.
“No no, that’s later this week.” He nods, his concern not fading as he scrutinizes your jaw and you’re touched by the fierce protectiveness from your best friend. You wouldn’t expect any less.
“Zam, what the fuck?” Jake comes over now, taking your face gently in his hands and inspecting the bruise. “Who did this to you?”
You hesitate, not wanting to cause a scene. You hadn’t meant to cause a scene like this, not considering how it would look to everyone else not involved. You consider lying but as you look into Jake’s green eyes, you see them dancing with concern and fury, the sheer protectiveness in them, directed at you of all people and it makes your heart squeeze. A few months ago Jake was reserved, hiding in a shell of himself until Bugs pulled him out of it and you’ve watched him grow back into his normal self, full of love and protectiveness that extends to everyone around him, you included.
He and Mickey are still waiting for your answer so you draw your eyes away from Jake’s, avoiding either of their gazes as you murmur, “Bradley…” and you feel Jake’s fingers tighten involuntarily on your cheeks. When you gaze back at him, there’s fury in his eyes.
“Bradley did this?” His voice is ice cold and you suppress a shudder as your eyes flick to Mickey’s matching expression.
“Bradley did what? Fuck, Zam, what happened to you?” Javy joins the three of you and you watch his eyes widen in surprise when he sees the bruise on your jaw. You jerk your chin from Jake’s grasp, suddenly self-conscious about the amount of attention you’re drawing.
“It’s not what you think!” You blurt. “He wasn’t aiming at me, I just stepped in front of him on instinct and I didn’t really think it through and yeah, I got hit.”
“When did this even happen?” Mickey asks brows tight in confusion.
“Last night, Cyclone asked me to pick him up from a bar after the paparazzi found him. He was drunk off his ass and fighting with these three other guys.”
“You should have called one of us to go with you,” Jake says firmly, crossing his arms across his chest in full captain mode. You roll your eyes giving him a tired shrug.
“I didn’t want to bother you. Plus this is my job, remember?”
“The press stuff, yes, but I thought we established that the babysitting was mine.” You return his worried smile with a tired one of your own, nodding in acquiescence.
“I’m gonna have Bugs look at it but I’m sure it’s fine.” Jake nods, satisfied to leave you in her care. You excuse yourself from the boys and head to Bugs’s office to get checked out.
~~~~~
Bugs gives you the all-clear and confirms that it’s just a nasty bruise and nothing to worry about so you go about your regular work for about an hour or two until the door to your office bursts open, hitting the walls and rattling your shelves of tchotchkes. You look up from your work to see Bradley Bradshaw in your doorway, seething. You don’t get paid enough for this.
“You just left my Bronco in that parking lot?! It got fucking towed!” He snaps, stamping across the room to leer over where you’re sitting. You scowl up at him.
“Boo fucking hoo, Bradshaw. If you’re going to go out and get plastered, maybe you shouldn’t drive or at least arrange someone to drive you home.” Normally you’d be poised, and calm, and you definitely wouldn’t be swearing but Bradley sends every bit of your self-control out the nearest window. “Instead I have to come and drag your sorry ass home.”
“No one asked you to do that!”
“They did, actually. Cyclone texted me because you were causing a scene! TMZ published an article, Bradshaw! TM-FUCKING-Z!”
“That’s not my problem.” He scoffs, his face still red as he growls at you.
“Well, your beloved Bronco getting towed isn’t mine.” You growl back, crossing your arms across your chest defensively. “And by the way, if you want to avoid the press, maybe get a less conspicuous ride.” His eyes flash and his open palms meet the surface of your desk in a noise so loud and startling that you flinch back, instinctively, fear running through you before you see the flicker in Bradley’s eyes cutting through the blind rage and he removes his hands instantly, backing up a couple of steps. His shoulders are still rising and falling in anger but he’s forcibly reeling himself in.
Then you watch the confusion spread across his face as he actually takes a good look at you and you feel the urge to squirm under the intensity of his whisky gaze. His brow furrows as he asks, voice softer. “What happened to your face?” You blink up at him, dumbstruck.
“So you don’t remember hitting it?” You ask, the venom in your voice falling short of what you’d intended at the confused concern in his eyes.
“I hit you?!” His voice is full of shock and something else, maybe a hint of regret.
“Well more accurately you were trying to hit another guy and I got in the way because we don’t really need to add battery to the laundry list of problems you’ve been causing.”
“Fuck.” He rasps and you shrug, trying to appear nonchalant even as you’re feeling all kinds of confused by this new Bradley that you’ve never seen. “I’m sorry.”
Now you really have seen it all. Bradley Bradshaw just APOLOGIZED TO YOU.
“It’s fine, it’s not exactly your fault. I wasn’t thinking.” You’re actively uncomfortable now, scrambling for your mask or your anger, anything to cover up this vulnerable feeling, the way he’s looking at you. Like you’re a wounded animal, a wrong he’s trying to right, like you’re HUMAN. You hate it. “Maybe we stop with the bar fights, whaddya say, big guy?” You hate how awkward you sound but you don’t have time to dwell on it as the storm clouds roll back through Bradley’s eyes.
“I told you to stay out of it, Honey.” His voice is hard, the Bradley you’ve just seen disappearing so quickly that you’re not even sure it was there in the first place.
“I told you, no can do, Bradshaw. You keep this up and it’s going to get ugly.”
He tilts his head slightly at the bite in your tone before he smirks. “I think it already has, Honey.” You watch his eyes flick down to your jaw and you clench it, ignoring the pain that flares through the taut skin. The twinkle in his eyes is new and it makes anger lick at your stomach. Before, he was just lashing out taking his anger on you because you were conveniently there, caught in the crossfire, but this? This is casually cruel and aimed right for the kill and you have a zero-tolerance policy for that.
“If you want to quit, Bradshaw then just fucking quit.” Your voice is ice cold as you glare daggers back into rolling brown seas that warn “there be dragons.” If he wants to be cruel, you’re more than capable of meeting him halfway. “There’s a thousand other players waiting for someone to give them their shot if you’re so intent on wasting yours.”
He leans in then, his voice low and rumbling, calm and collected despite the flush of his cheeks. The wildness in his eyes tames for a second, the eye of the storm, as he delivers the kill shot. “You’d know all about that, wouldn’t you?” When he says your name you feel a chill run down your spine. It’s been years since someone other than your father called you by it. Ever since you joined the world of hockey, it’s always been Zamboni or Zam, even amongst your colleagues and professional relations. That’s how everyone knows you. “Quitting? Wasting your shot? You’re speaking from experience, right?” Each question punches the air from your lungs as you cower against the back of your chair, nowhere to run as Bradley pries you open like he’s manually pulling the nails out of the coffin in your mind, one by one. “Nothing to say, Honey? That’s what I thought.” He leans back and goes to leave, only pausing in the doorway to look back at where you’re frozen. “Like I said, stay out of it if you know what’s good for you, Honey.”
When the door closes behind him, you try your best to take a shaking breath but it’s like he’s pinned the air in your lungs and it can’t move. Your fingers scramble for your phone, shaking so hard that you can barely unlock the screen and click the contact you need most as your body shuts down. The panic attack pulls you fully into its grasp as you listen to the sound of the line ringing, praying that they pick up. When you finally hear the voice it’s like a light at the end of the tunnel that you’ve lost yourself in. You can’t form the words, but you know they’ll know. They’ll come. They know what you need.
~~~~~
You weren’t always Zamboni. In the grand scheme of things, you’ve spent more of your life NOT being her. However, you’ve locked as much of that time as you could up in a dark corner of your mind. It had been eight years since you’d become Zamboni not necessarily to escape that part of yourself but rather as a direct effect of the alienation that had come with losing that part of yourself. Only one person other than your father truly knew what had happened that turned your world upside down and sent you running from your past. Mickey Garcia had saved you, giving you something to live for that ended up creating the person that you are now.
Hockey was something that you and your mother whispered about in the middle of the night while she told you fantastic stories about her youth at the height of her career. She’d been an Olympic figure skater. She had medals and trophies filling glass cases in your home to prove it but above all the fortune and glory, she loved the sport. She loved being on the ice and had passed down that love to you. You remember her bringing you with her to the local rinks, and watching her move with such grace and poise while you teetered around at the edge of the rink, still finding your footing at such a young age.
You’d grown up, though, and you were every bit your mother’s daughter from the way you looked to the way you skated. When you were on the ice there was nothing you couldn’t do, no move you couldn’t master, just a matter of how many hours you spent on it. Your mother’s Olympic fame opened doors to rinks much later than they should have been, and even when those closed for the night, you’d spend even more hours on the frozen lake behind your house, perfecting every turn and jump.
By the time you were off to college at the University of Wisconsin, you were pretty much a shoo-in for the Olympics. The only reason you hadn’t already competed in one yet was that your mother was indignant that you fully enjoyed your life as a child before being thrust into the international spotlight. It didn’t stop you from topping various other competitions, however, and when you went to college on a figure skating scholarship, you were chomping at the bit to kickstart your Olympic career, however, the next Olympics wouldn’t be for another two years.
You spent every spare moment at the university’s rink, staying late after official practices. The biggest source of your irritation was the University of Wisconsin’s ice hockey team. They shared the rink with the figure skaters and conveniently seemed to have practice whenever you wanted to use the ice. You had complained loudly to your mom over the phone when she gave you a suggestion that would change your life for the better. Even if they weren’t figure skaters, you could learn a thing or two from watching the hockey players move on the ice, so that’s what you did. If they had practice when you wanted to use the ice, you’d plant yourself in the stands and watch them skate. As soon as the ice was cleaned after practice you’d lace up your skates and start applying what you’d observed and you had to hand it to your mom, you were learning new things by watching them. That’s how you met Mickey Garcia. Well, not exactly. One night you were stuck on a particular turn and had been practicing it for so long that you’d lost track of time, the lack of windows in the rink creating a liminal space. The main lights had since been turned on with only the rink lights remaining. You were so focused on what you were doing that it didn’t occur to you to worry about getting locked into the rink that is until your work was interrupted.
“Hey, are you supposed to be in here?” The voice broke through your concentration and you turned to see a familiar face looking back at you from the edge of the rink. You recognized the guy as one of the hockey players even though he was just wearing a hoodie and sweats.
“Are YOU?” You shot back, placing your hands on your hips.
“No, that’s the point.” He said with a rueful grin and a shrug. “I left a binder in the locker room on accident so I got the captain’s keys to let me in. How were you planning to get out?”
“The doors aren’t locked.”
“They are at 1 am.” When you gaped at him as you realized the time he laughed. “Listen, I need to study but I don’t really care where so I can do it here until you’re ready to leave and then I can lock up behind us.” And that’s how you met Mickey Garcia.
You started going to his games and he started coming to your competitions. Some nights he’d give you pointers about your skating and some nights you’d do your best to tend the goal or scrimmage with him if he needed the extra practice. Slowly you became a regular amongst his teammates as well, as Mickey invited you to watch practices up class and even skate with them during warmups. He had you point out certain techniques they could apply to their movement.
Two years flew by and suddenly Olympic qualifiers were almost upon you. You were busier than ever and you spent night after night late at the rink to practice your routine with Mickey to keep you company. Even you knew it was only a matter of showing up on the day for you to qualify, it didn’t keep you from spending every waking moment skating.
By that logic, it wasn’t a surprise that you were skating when you got the call. It was Thanksgiving break. You’d turned down your parents’ incessant invitations to come home for the break, afraid to surrender any time you could spend practicing. You don’t remember much about the day looking back but you don’t want to. You only remember answering the call, expecting to hear your father asking you to reconsider coming home once again. Instead, you only heard his sobs. Your mother had an unexpected heart attack. She died instantly. There was nothing they could do to save her. And you could have been there. You should have been there. You couldn’t remember the last thing she had said to you. You’d talked to her just last night and yet you couldn’t remember.
It wasn’t that you blamed yourself per se, but after that day you could never bring yourself to step on the ice. The Olympic qualifiers came and went as you were frozen in that moment when you’d gotten the phone call. It hadn’t been easy to thaw and return to your life, and in many ways you never truly did, but Mickey had held your hand every step of the way as he brought you to his practices, his games, and slowly you’d come back. You took a leave of absence from school for a semester as you decided what to do next as your skates hung in the back of your closet for good. Figure skating had been your whole life so finding something new seemed daunting and boundless.
~~~~~
You’re shaking and curled in your chair, teetering close to falling to the floor but too frozen to right yourself when Mickey finds you. His arms go around you instantly, grounding you with his touch as you try your best to grasp onto the beat of his heart. He’s saying words into your ear, doing his best to break you out of this state but you don’t hear them. All you can hear is your father’s screams from that day eight years ago. They bounce around your head and get louder and louder until you realize that they aren’t. That’s the sound of you screaming. Your wordless pain has found a voice and it’s heartbreaking as you fall apart in Mickey’s arms. Absently you hear the sound of footsteps drawn by the sound of your screams. Your voice breaks from strain. You’re all screamed out and your breath still feels trapped in your lungs as you heave against Mickey and his words are slowly audible. You hear the gentle reassurances and feel his hands stroking your hair and back, the repetitive motion soothing your shakes until you’re simply still, lying in his arms.
“What was she screaming about?” You hear Bradley’s voice and feel Mickey’s body stiffen against yours protectively.
“What the FUCK did you say to her?” His voice is pure fury, leaving him in a growl you’ve never heard from him. You’ve seen a lot of Mickey Garcia’s various sides, but you’ve never seen him really, truly angry until now.
“Me? Nothing.”
“You fucking liar, WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU SAY TO HER?!” Mickey’s shouting and you shudder at the vitriol in his voice as he screams at Bradley. You barely register more footsteps approaching over the commotion.
“She accused me of giving up and I told her she’d know a lot about that given that she just up and quit skating-” Then Mickey’s moving and you think you call out after him as he grabs Bradley by the collar and slams him into the wall. It only really works because the taller man is so startled by Mickey’s sudden attack.
“She didn’t up and quit skating!” Mickey growls into Bradley’s face as you watch his fist swing, connecting with Bradley’s nose, hard as he shouts. “HER MOM DIED, YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!” You could hear a pin drop or maybe that’s just the sound of Bradley’s blood hitting the tile floor as it drips from his nose until Jake’s pulling Mickey off of Bradley, his face a mask of quiet fury. Javy’s behind him, his eyes on where you’re still curled up in your chair, your cheeks soaked with tears. They’re not the ones you’re watching though. Your eyes are locked onto Bradley’s whisky ones. There’s something unreadable in them but amidst all that you see as much as you feel the regret. Regret and something else. It almost feels like he’s reaching for you with his eyes. You don’t get a chance to read him, however as Dare’s voice, full of fury cuts through the room.
“Bradshaw, go home, you’re done for the day.” Her jaw is set and her eyes are flashing with something unreadable as she jerks her chin to indicate that he should leave now. He nods silently, giving you one last lingering look before he leaves. Mickey is breathing heavily in Jake’s grasp, Bradley’s blood on his knuckles. Dare turns to him, giving him a sympathetic look. “Mickey, let’s chat in my office. Jake, Javy, walk him over.” Jake nods and he and Javy lead Mickey out. Mickey shoots you a look and you mouth THANK YOU to him and he just gives you a grim look as he nods.
“Zam, are you alright?” You don’t notice her come up to you and while she stays respectfully on the other side of your desk, giving you space, you can see the concern in her eyes.
“I don’t know.” You answer honestly. You’re still shaken up. It’s been a long time since you’ve had a panic attack and you’re almost unfamiliar with what to do afterwards. “I’m going to call Bugs over and she can take you home for the day, how does that sound?” Mickey once told you that the greatest strength you can get is from leaning on your friends and right now you know that’s what you need so you leave your pride on the floor and nod. You can’t battle without an army and Bradley Bradshaw just declared war.
Synched Calendars
Fandom: Fairy Tail
Ship: Natsu x Lucy
Tags: Fluff, One Shot, Modern AU, Best Friends
Summary: The dangers of sharing a calendar with a man with no boundaries are varied.
Notes: Fluffy little one-shot to cleanse the palate during think Kinktober.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
Natsu’s ears twitched at the sound of Lucy’s gentle giggle. He glanced back from his spot in line, frowning slightly when he saw a green-haired stranger leaning against the wall, flirting with his best friend. Worse, Lucy was covering her mouth with her fingertips, stifling the genuine laughter the man was drawing from her. It was a habit she fell into whenever she was trying to be cute.
He pushed the jealousy from his mind and focused on his task. Stepping up to the counter, he ordered the snacks Erza had sent him to fetch, then stepped out of line to wait some more. Lucy’s giggle floated across the room to him again. His brow furrowed as he watched the two of them trade phones. “Aw, what the hell,” he grumbled.
Unbidden, Gray’s most recent advice floated to the front of his brain. “You gotta speak up man. Lucy’s too smart to wait for you forever, and sooner or later, someone will snatch her out from under your nose.” Natsu crossed his arms, his frown deepening.
“Sir? Your order is ready.” Natsu shook himself out of his thoughts and looked up, grunting his thanks to the clerk. She gave him a wary smile before turning back to her work. Natsu rejoined his friends, pushing his irritation aside. The stranger was gone, and he refused to let his existence ruin a movie night with his friends.
“I don’t know, I thought it was pretty scary,” Lucy argued, still keeping her arms wrapped around herself where they’d been since the first jump scare of the movie.
Natsu rolled his eyes. “Yeah, but you get scared when your curtains blow too hard.” Lucy smacked him, laughing.
“Oh, hang on, sorry,” she mumbled when her phone dinged. She turned away from the group, leaving them to argue over the predictability of the outcome. Natsu watched her smile slightly and type something into her phone before she returned to the conversation.
“Everything okay?” he asked when she returned to his side. She nodded quickly, waving him off. His own phone dinged with a calendar alert, and he dug it out, glancing at it.
                Synched Calendar Update!
Saturday, 4 P.M.
            Date with Noah.
He frowned, swiping his phone open and punching the calendar app. The event was colored soft pink, marking it as one of Lucy’s events.
“Natsu? Come on, we are heading outside,” Erza called.
“Huh? Yeah, I’ll be right there. I just need to run to the bathroom,” he called, shoving his phone into his pocket. He watched the group move on, shooting Lucy a grin when she glanced back at him before following Gray out into the parking lot. Scanning the room, he found the green-haired head easily and made his way over.
Natsu rejoined the group, grinning brightly. “Hey, sorry. Line was longer than I expected,” he offered, stepping up beside Lucy. “So does anyone else want to go get something to eat?”
Lucy wrinkled her nose at him. “You literally ate two extra-large popcorn and three boxes of Hot Tamales!”
“So?” He didn’t see her point. She made an annoyed sound in the back of her throat. Her phone rang suddenly, pulling her away from the group again. He tried to listen to her conversation, but Gray grabbed him in a headlock, digging his knuckles into his scalp.
“Really? No, I didn’t mean to keep a secret…it just….I wasn’t sure myself. Well, thanks Noah….yeah.” Lucy hung up with a sigh, then turned and glared at the puff of dust that had become Natsu and Gray.
“Natsu! Can I talk to you?” His scruffy pink head popped up and he shoved Gray away, jogging over to her.
“What’s up?” he said innocently. Lucy grabbed him by the elbow and dragged him around the corner to the relative privacy of an alleyway.
“Natsu, did you just tell Noah that we are dating and cancel my date?”
“Yeah, why?” He crossed his arms and cocked his head. Lucy’s eyes flashed angrily.
“Why would you do that?!”
“What do you mean? Because you shouldn’t go out with other people when you’re already mine, obviously,” he said matter-of-factly. Lucy growled, pushing him.
“When exactly did we start dating?! I don’t remember ever saying I wanted to be with you!”
Natsu smirked at her and stepped closer. “Don’t you though? Cause I want to be with you,” he said quietly. Lucy took a step back, finding her back against the wall. He cupped her cheek gently and leaned down slowly. Lucy’s breathing hitched and she trembled.
“N-Natsu….don’t,” she whispered, covering his lips with her fingers gently. “I…I need time to think, okay?” He stepped away, swallowing his disappointment, and nodded once.
“Sure…yeah, I get it. Sorry. Find me later if you need to talk I guess,” he said softly, then left her alone, returning to the group. Lucy watched Gray elbow him and asked something, which Natsu shrugged off.
Of course she wanted to be with him. She had for as long as she could remember, but the idiot never seemed to notice her. Her hesitation was based solely on the fact that he had gone out of his way to cancel a date without talking to her about it at all.
Turning her options over in her mind, Lucy unlocked her phone and looked down at the calendar. She could call Noah back and explain the situation, going on the date with him solely to punish Natsu….or she could be with the man she’d wanted for years. Sighing, she swiped on the event to edit it.
Across the lot, Natsu dug his phone out once again, opening the notification.
Synched Calendar Update!
Saturday, 4 P.M.
            Date with Natsu.
Lucy’s delicate fingers slipped between his own as he read the update. He glanced over at her and smiled, leaning down to kiss her golden head. “Thanks…for giving me a chance.”
hi hi! first off thank you so much for always serving looks. your art is phenomenal and your style feels like it belongs on the walls of a luxury fashion HQ.
stunning stunning stunning
i was wondering if you ever get the time, would you mind (please) showing us any tips on how to achieve that rich variety of textures you have on so many of your fits? the one you did recently of the three Tifa fits, for example, has so many different textures represented. I wouldn't even know where to begin achieving that!
no pressure of course! if it's a trade secret then please do keep it. I'm just so impressed and curious and had to speak up
thanks so much, keep up the beautiful work x
Hello!
First off, thank you so much for your wonderful words! Working in the fashion industry is my dream so this means a whole lot to me.
I can totally share! I'll try my best to explain my process because it varies quite often, especially now that I switched from Photoshop and Procreate, but if I were to give my step by step, it's this:
sketch> lineart> color> shade> paint over> texture/grain/sharpen/contrast
The unique coloring I had a few drawings back came from working with an Adjustment Layer with a Gradient Map on Photoshop. But now since I use Procreate, my main trick is making the colors much darker than I want initially, and then putting a bunch of highlights with a Color Dodge layer with a textured brush.
Now, my main thing is that I never use blending brushes and my brushes (outside of color blocking) are always textured. Charcoal, pencil, grainy, grungy etc, that is what you're looking for. If you need something slightly softer, watercolor brushes that mimic real ones are ones I use as well, just not as often as the others.
My latest Tifa piece uses all official Procreate brushes that come with the app. The Rosette brush, which is under the Textures brush folder, and the Flicks brush under the Spraypaints folder. (Also Derwent, 6B pencil and Gloaming for sketching and lineart)
General rule of thumb with shine is that it can only get so light, so make sure your base is on the darker side.
Tumblr media
Here is my effects folder. That's where I add highlights, mood and texture. I've also been enjoying the noise and sharpen feature on Procreate, and I apply them all on a grey overlay layer on top of all of my art. Also a bunch of color burn and overlay layers.
For reference, here is the art without the effect folder compared to the final art.
Hope this helps! ❤
Thank u for the tags @spookygingerr and @especially-fuk-u !!
Name: dean :D
Age: 18
Your time zone: EST
What do you do for work: I’m in school right now so nothing, but this summer (probably in a couple weeks) I’m working at a pool store and maybe an ice cream shop
Do you have any pets?: yes!! I have a calico cat named Salem, she’s my best friend and so cute I love her so much
What first drew you to the fandom: I kept seeing clips of shameless on TikTok, I finally caved and started watching it over the summer, and I got hooked ever since (averaged a season and a half in a day), lurked around the fandom for a while but then started majorly interacting. I’ve never been normal about anything I’ve ever consumed, this is no exception (autism goes brrrr)
Morning person or night owl?: night owl baby!! Earliest you’ll get me up is 10am, I’ll go to sleep around 3-4 am (I also have insomnia)
What are your hobbies?: any type of art or craft, I paint, sew, draw, bookbind and just random miscellaneous stuff, my last art project was making spikes for my jacket from soda cans. I also read, like, a lot, mainly fanfiction bc special interest, but also I love non fiction (essays, memoirs, political theory) and some fiction (I love love love horror), I’m a major Jack of all trades, just constantly looking for something new to try
How tall are you?: 5’6” baby!
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?: anywhere warm and with a beach, I love summer and I’m built for it, I’ve considered New Orleans a lot for some reason, maybe California but I also hate west coast culture so um there’s that
Favorite color: yellow !! My and my siblings were color coded to prevent fights, and yellow was my color as a kid and it’s just stayed my favorite, and people always unanimously agree yellow is a color that Suits Me, saying i have yellow and sunshine energy, it also just best on me compared to other colors
Favorite book: this is such a hard choice, im going to say the perks of being a wallflower I think, ultimate comfort book really, but I also love to talk and think about Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison
Favorite movie?: it’s a horror movie called the empty man, it’s SO weird and SO fucked up with the most normal and sane horror protagonist
Favorite fic: I could never choose, one I’ve been thinking about A Lot is the origins of girldadism, but I also love meanest hunk of woman and enemy lines I’ll recommend them till the day I die
Favorite musical artist: I love love love Green Day i could talk abt them forever I’m going to see them in concert this summer and I’m SO freaking excited, honorable mentions are Noah kahan and old dominion
What is your average screen time so far this week?: 8 hours and 10 minutes. Higher than I was expecting considering all I’ve been doing is studying
How long have you been on tumblr: I think this summer will be 6 years?
finally (and i know this one is hard) tell me a fun fact about yourself: I’m learning my third language (Ukrainian) and planning a fourth (French, probably in college (I’m so done with Spanish bffr)) I also make my own recycled paper! I think that’s always fun to mention
this is an example of what a random section looks like of my 2023 spreadsheet. in order it's: title, issue/volume number, page count, date i finished the comic, and my personal rating. blue and red is obviously DC and Marvel. pink means the numbering is counting single issues, yellow means it's counting volumes/trades. sometimes for the page count i guesstimate based on how long comics tend to be if i can't find an exact page count. the colors in the rating are just for fun so i can easily see what stuck out as 10/10 and what stuck out as 1/10.
then i take all of *that* data and condense it into monthly stats. all by hand bc idk how to like. properly use google sheets that well.
Tumblr media
obviously i'm aware all of this is likely the most tedious way to do it and i'm probably making it harder for myself. however. i am just Like That. i do use the Comics Geeks app as well, which i think is a solid app? i just haven't fully logged everything i've read because i find that to be wildly tedious. but the stat breakdowns it gives about most read characters and writers and whatnot is nifty. though you can tell the app is more geared toward tracking comic collections rather than comics read.
so uh. i'm not the best person to ask about this probably lkjhghgjhkjjkjh i will always brute force my own way than just doing it the. smart way. but! i do keep track of it all and i find it very useful to do so, because i like seeing the trends of what i was reading when. also i enjoy the data of how i rated a comic when i read it vs how i feel about it now that it's sat with me. idk if this helps but!! i do like rambling about my spreadsheet!
ARTFIGHT 2023 COMPILATION POST
hi hi hi i didn’t get much done this year but i really like all the attacks i did get to! work has just been so hectic :,)
First up is Raindrop, owned by @/M1lkdraws on instagram!!!! i actually still really like this one and i’m glad i’ve come so far when it comes to drawing anthros :3
Next is Piña by @yo-no-fui3 !!!! She was on my bookmarks list since last year and i just had to draw her! Like i said in my original post, the color space of krita go really weird on my which is why there’s some discolouration around the gradients; i eventually fixed it by factory-settings the app but by then the damage was done finding. still i really really like how this turned out, she’s so freakin cute
And the third attack is Taz, she’s a dnd character played by @/Fruuths on instagram! I experimented a lot with my shading on this one abd im not sure how i feel about that, but overall i’m pretty happy with this piece :D
Fourth is Crystal! She’s so freaking cute and she belongs to @/godtegnomen on instagram! I love love love the way this came out and even though i purposefully tried for a messier/less time consuming linework style, it actually came out looking fantastic (in my eyes) and was SUPER fun to work on!
The fifth attack is on my boyfriends character Reyner!!! I really meant to do a digital version since the attack he did on me was so amazing and intricate but i didn’t get to it in july :( stay tuned tho :3 he’s @juiceb0x !!
Next is @abstractredd ‘s Lilith. uhhhhhhh boobies. i really like how the pose came out! hair shading is something i have to work on however, although i do like this i’m interested in trying new styles!
Next is Tila by @always-any-art !!! she’s so cute i just had to do an attack on her!!! i drew her on night shift and finished up the colouring at home :) she’s so frckin cute i love her fins and tail and silly hair
Last but not least is Sunny! Shes a big monster shifter who belongs to @/ellie.j.raws on instagram!!! I designed a short of halfway point of her transformation because i really wanted to do the best of both worlds! also i’m still not great at drawing reptilians yet :,)
But yeah!! That’s artfight 2023! I was on team vamps, i wish i could have contributed more but i was just too busy. i’d love to do art trades or something sometime during the rest of this year, though! I love drawing people’s character :)
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
I recently replayed them both since they were added to NSO and will gush about them more under the cut.
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages & The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons are two 22 year old classic Game Boy Color games developed in collaboration between Nintendo and Capcom. They use a Password sharing system to "link" the two games together (which was so robust and complicated they had to put a stop to development of a third game, or so the story goes iirc), so no matter which one you play first it'll transition decently enough into the second game.
This time, as a first for me, I picked Ages as my first and then played Seasons afterwards.
Ages, being a game centered around time travel, naturally has more of a focus on puzzles rather than pure combat challenges. This can be seen in several different ways.
The Dungeons, for instance, have increasingly complicated gimmicks and gimmick combinations that are slowly introduced over the course of the game. Things like six sided dice puzzles start out simple enough, but then they get more complex with the addition of bottomless pits and the fact that they can be used to change a minecart crossing to allow access. Water levels get changed to influence the layout of the dungeon. Pillars are shattered to drop turnstiles to a lower level. Hell, in one dungeon you have to traverse it in both timelines, and some of the things you do in the past change how the dungeon functions in the present.
Instead of a standard bow you have a Seed Shooter, which bounces projectiles off of walls (which is used both to solve puzzles and in boss fights, because of course the boss fights are puzzles as well). Instead of a hookshot to take you places, you now have a Switchhook that will swap you with other objects to reach new places (and also, as ever, to solve puzzles and to navigate certain enemy encounters). Even the Flippers get an upgrade in this game via the Mermaid Suit, which introduces an entirely new method of traversal, that admittedly, takes some serious adjustment to get used to it.
Ages has more of a linear plot structure than that of Seasons, with the many side objectives needed to progress between dungeons be almost hard locked behind story progression (and frequent meetings with our best boi Ralph). This can be seen before dungeon 2, where you need to deliver mystery seeds to Queen Ambi in order to gain access to the second dungeon. The third dungeon is perhaps the most memorable as it's probably the most convoluted and involved set up before a dungeon.
First, you have to have a guy build a raft. So you go to help him and he needs charts and a rope. So you go to the guy that has really good rope but he won't give it to you, so you go to the future and rob his grave for the rope and a chart. Then you crash on Crescent Island and all the local inhabitants steal all of your shit. And boy howdy, I had forgotten how incredibly tedious it could be. Like in concept it's a neat little idea and Crescent Island isn't that big, but even having played this game before there were plenty of times I had to trudge all the way from one end of the island to another in order to swap out an item (because of course you have to do some bartering first before getting all of your shit back). This isn't Dark Matter Kirby trilogy levels of BS "I Should've Been Using a Guide" but it's probably my second least favorite part of the game for a reason.
Actual least favorite part? Goron Dancing. The timing on it is very jank, goes on for too long, and I have no regrets about using the damn built in save states in the NSO app to fucking alleviate my problems with that.
Also at one point you have what amounts to a mock battle with Veran in a very story heavy segment before getting the final Tune for the Harp of Ages, so yeah when I say Ages is very puzzle-y, even in the overworld I mean it.
The Trading Sequence that was so beloved in Link's Awakening once again makes a return in Ages (and Seasons has its own as well). The Boomerang isn't the reward this time, rather it's the Noble Sword (with it being replaced in a linked game with the Master Sword should certain Secrets be exchanged before hand), which honestly feels a bit more impactful (although part of that is how heavily nerfed the Boomerang is in the Oracle games compared to LA).
Ages does a very good job, imo, with slowly building up the intensity of its atmosphere over the course of the game. When you start seeing Lynels and Dark Nuts every new place you travel to you start to realize that shit is about to go down. This is further exemplified in the last Psuedo Dungeon, the Black Tower, which is nothing more than a giant gauntlet of floors and enemies and even a cheeky little illusionary trick at the last part if you don't follow a certain flame.
The final fight with Veran, meanwhile, is a very fast paced, multi phase boss fight. First, you have a re-tread of the Possessed Nayru fight, this time with Possessed Ambi. After this, Veran adopts a very creepy looking Dark Great Fairy form while also spawning Shadow Links to try to mess with you further. Then, after everyone thinks she's dead, she pulls Link into the Darkness for one final confrontation where she tosses aside her vanity to take on truly monstrous forms in an attempt to lay waste to our Hero. These include a Turtle that can briefly spawn lava pits, a gigantic spider, and a super fast giant bee with its own minions and ranged attack.
But once the battle is completed, the day is saved, and time stops going haywire; our heroes celebrate before going their separate ways.
But of course, this isn't the end of it, as the twin Gerudo witches known as Twinrova cackle with evil delight as the first Flame has been successfully lit.
So we grab the password given to us after the credits, enter into the "Secrets" tab of Oracle of Seasons, and start a new adventure in the land of Holodrom.
Tumblr media
Seasons is a lot more straight forward in terms of puzzle elements than its sister game. This is exemplified by several things, not the least of which is the fact that unlike in Ages, all you have to do to get the plot moving in Seasons is to talk to roughly seven NPCs; no moving sacred stones here, nosiree bob.
Onox, the General of Darkness, kidnaps Din, the Oracle of Seasons, and then causes the seasons of Holodrum to go out of whack by submerging the Temple of Seasons beneath the earth. (The Temple winds up in a subterranean realm known as Subrosia, much to the mild bafflement of that latter land's citizens).
After talking to the Maku tree and obtaining the sword (which is easier in this game since it's a linked game and therefore the Hero's Cave is more of a late game bonus dungeon), and reveling in the fact that I started with four hearts instead of three due to this being a linked playthrough, I went all of four screens (count 'em, four) past the north part of the village to enter my first dungeon.
It's in this first dungeon, the Gnarled Root Dungeon, that the difference in design principles between the two games becomes apparent. Ages was about the challenge of puzzles and figuring out how to unlock things. Seasons has puzzles, but it's far more interested in hurting the player through various traps and buffed up enemies. Spinning Spike Traps were a late game environmental hazard in Ages; in Seasons, they're in this first dungeon. At the end of the dungeon, you run into a massive boss known as Aquamentes; yes, the same exact first boss from the original Legend of Zelda. Every major boss in this game, outside of the eighth dungeon and the final Seasons boss, is a returning boss from either the og or LTTP.
After defeating the second dungeon boss (Dodongo), you at long last have access to Farore, the Oracle of Secrets who is basically just a glorified password entering machine in the form of an NPC. By talking to certain characters in a linked game, you can then go back to Ages with the "secret" (password code) and do a small thing or another to gain an item or an upgrade that you couldn't normally. By then taking that new password back to Seasons, you can talk to Farore and obtain that item or upgrade as well. However, it works on a tiered system; so if you only have the level 1 sword, you'll only get the level 2 sword in Seasons and will need to go to the location of what would've been the level 2 sword to find the level 3 sword instead.
So fairly quickly in Seasons I had things like a level 2 Ring Box, a level 2 Seed Satchel, and even an entire extra Heart Container to make things even easier for myself. It was also around this point I talked to Vasu the Jeweler's red snake companion in Ages and gained a password that let me copy my Ages ring collection to Seasons, which included the Blue Ring (which halves all damage). This made the game a lot more forgiving, although still not exactly a walk in the park as some enemies can hit you multiple times before you can recover and dodge out of the way. The only other ring I used throughout the rest of this playthrough was one I found in Seasons; the Roc Ring, which lets you stand on those crumbling floor tiles without them breaking and dropping you into a bottomless pit. Useful for a couple quirky dungeon rooms in the latter part of the game.
A neat thing about a linked game is that not only will you get those aforementioned moments of secret passwords, but also just little extra moments where characters from the previous game will come to visit in the new one. This can include Ambi (who travelled through time to see her love (the Pirate Cap'n) once more), the Great Moblin (who would really like it if Link would stop blowing up his fortresses), and even new characters like Princess Zelda herself.
In both Oracle games you run across Ricky (a boxing Kangaroo), Moosh (a flying, uh, bear), and Dimitri (a smol Dodongo friend who swims up waterfalls). While you do have to interact with all three of them in both games, you also can get a flute to call a specific one to you in the overworld to overcome specific areas in the overworld that change depending on the animal friend you end up with. If you play Ages and don't do anything special, you get Moosh; playing Seasons normally gets you Ricky; and no matter which game you'll need to do a short little side objective to wind up with Dimitri.
So of course I picked Dimitri. His zones in both games are relatively simple water segments that move at a quick pace; the same cannot be said for Moosh's and Ricky's respective areas. Also he's a cute dino friend. I can't say no to that.
The actual overworld puzzles in Seasons revolve around, of course, the changing of the seasons. First you end up grabbing winter; then summer, spring, and fall.
Winter ices over some ponds and lakes allowing traversal of these areas before the flippers are obtained. Certain trees also turn from two by two obstacles to 1 wide by two square tall ones instead, allowing for paths to be opened. Snow banks can also form in certain locations, allowing traversal between things like separated cliffs.
Spring has petrified buds come to life. This can be as simple as a path now being freely traversable to Deku Flower type contraptions that will shoot you up ledges. There is a child in Horon village who will showcase the latter every time the place is in spring and it is both informative and cute.
Summer will dry up lakebeds and at the same time it will cause vines to grow on certain walls.
Autumn will make rock mushrooms turn normal so they can be picked up. It will also have leaves fall on top of pits, turning them into temporary safe haven that can walked on if you're fast enough.
These various interactions between the seasons lead to some interesting puzzles, but nothing ever feels as convoluted as the time bending shenanigans of Ages (Zora's Domain, which I didn't touch on earlier, was a nightmare, btw)
Unlike Ages, which was more about items for utility, a lot of items in Seasons function as both puzzle solving elements and direct weapons. The Boomerang returns in Seasons, but later on gets an upgraded form in the Magic Boomerang, which you can control its flight path to some extent. Instead of a Seed Shooter you instead get a slingshot, and later and upgraded one that shoot three seeds in a spread. The Magnetic gloves don't do direct damage, but they can throw around large metal objects to kill some enemies that were normally only killable by knocking them into pits. (They are also used to yeet Link around rooms in fun and interesting ways) There's also the Roc's Cape, which acts as a controlled double jump that lets Link clear some larger gaps in the floor.
Some special shout out to various things in this game:
Fighting Blaino in his Gym to get Ricky his gloves back. Using two blue Cuccoos to soar over specific pits, while wondering why it was necessary to make them button mashers.
All of the trampoline puzzles in this game involving dungeons with multiple floors.
Setting off an active volcano in Subrosia to change the landscape above in Holodrum.
The sixth dungeon's terrifying room of "hi these walls are closing in better run faster".
The creepy Poe sisters and their curses that you had to lift by finding their grave markers; cause if the torches all went out in those cursed rooms you were teleported back to the beginning of the dungeon (even during the mini boss fight, where one or both sisters will try to blow out the torches in between trying to stab Link).
And of course cooling the lava in the Sword and Shield dungeon's bottom floor with those magic ice blocks.
Upon defeating the Medusa Head boss of the eight dungeon (who is a lot more intimidating in terms of looks rather than a super hard challenge, especially on this linked save file with a level 3 sword and taking half damage) it's time to go and fight the General of Darkness, Onox.
His palace is a bit more straight forward than Veran's, although his requires all enemies to be defeated (and the Facade mini boss makes a return). Whatever atmosphere is lacking in the final Psuedo Dungeon proper is made up for with Onox's large, intimidating presence. … and the gigantic spiked ball and chain he wields in order to try and crush Link. Midway through the fight he'll summon Din's trapped body to his side as a human shield, but the Rod of Seasons can safely bat her away and allow our young hero to defeat the General.
However, the fight isn't done with just one form. Oh no, for Onox is in actuality a Dark Dragon summoned forth by Twinrova from the Dark Realm in order to light the Flame of Destruction. So what follows is a side scrolling view fight straight out of Sigma's playbook where you have to jump on Onox's hands and then jump up to hit the crystal in his forehead with your sword.
After defeating Onox and freeing Din, you would think the day is saved if you hadn't been paying attention to the cutscenes involving Twinrova. But alas, the elderly witches kidnap the people's hope, Zelda, and mean to use this to not only light the Flame of Despair, but also to sacrifice her as a vessel. For their purpose this entire time has been to resurrect the King of Evil, Ganon.
What follows is a short gauntlet of two boss fights. First, is the battle against Twinrova. At first, you have to use your sword as a bat to hit the Ice Witch with the Fire Witch's attack and vice versa. After a brief battle (with some admittedly very wonky flight paths that don't make logical sense no I didn't get irritated at what felt like really cheap hits what do you mean) they combine into Twinrova proper, who will change the room's environment to use Fire and Ice attacks, and requires applying the sword directly to her forehead, followed by the application of some scent seeds when she's vulnerable.
Having been unable to revive Ganon using Zelda, Twinrova sacrifice their body for their liege. This results in a powerful Ganon, but one without his brilliant, villainous mind to control his actions. The battle therefore is mostly just Ganon teleporting, using an attack, teleporting, repeating ad nauseam. At one point he makes the floor go all silly and your controls are backwards but by the time he did so it took me all of two or three hits to defeat him.
So at long last the day is saved, Zelda is rescued, our heroes celebrate and Link leaves out to sea on a very familiar looking raft (the Oracle games were meant, at time of release, to be interquel games between LTTP and LA, but that was later retconned).
All in all, it was an incredibly fun experience to go through these two games again for the first time in…uh, a while. (10+ years, I think, with the majority of my replays being back in the early to mid 2000's) These two games hold an incredibly special place in my heart (if that wasn't obvious), that even the parts that annoyed me were still enjoyable to an extent.
I finished recording my replay of Going Under for the Let’s Play channel! I loved it even more the second time, and more than ever I am bemoaning the fact that the fandom is so nonexistent. Because for the first time ever I am coming up with concepts for like. Fangames, bonus dungeons, stuff like that. AND I HAVE NO ONE TO TALK ABOUT IT WITH.
So I will just dump all my thoughts into a post here and y’all will just have to deal with it.
First of all, ideas for other dungeons. These aren’t very fleshed out, but so far I’ve thought of:
A social media startup, a wannabe TikTok or Twitter that promises its users fame and clout in exchange for generating outrage. It offers stardom, so the dungeon has an outer space aesthetic and the enemies are aliens and celestial bodies.
A phony self-help/mental health service, or even worse one of those skeevy “therapy” apps like Better Help, something that preys on vulnerable people who need help a startup can’t provide, while also burning out employees who went into the field wanting to help people but are now cynical. I’m not sure about the aesthetic, but I’m leaning towards maybe a schoolhouse with living toys for enemies? Something to reflect how they see their customers as stupid children.
But now this. This is the really juicy idea. I have so much to say about this that I’m going to have to put it under a read more. But I’ll try to hook you first:
FIZZLE AS A FULL-FLEDGED DUNGEON
This could be part of an AU/sequel where Jackie fails, Fizzle falls completely under the curse, and years later another intern for another company has to go through the same thing. To be honest, I mostly came up with those other two dungeon ideas to be the other two in this AU in addition to Fizzle, and this is the one I’m most excited about.
It’s underwater themed, obviously, and the most prevalent environmental hazards are explosive, Fizzle-mutated corals that emit various status effects when you get too close to them. Most of the enemies are generic fishmen who look a little like Swomp, although Swomp himself is actually the shopkeeper - appropriate, not only because he was the barista, but because as a human, he was open-minded and friendly with the monsters, and now the tables have turned. Like Jelly, Lilli, and Zans, he is a monster of elevated intelligence and awareness who is open-minded and friendly towards humans.
Other enemy types are inspired by Fern, Tappi, Kara, and Eclaire. The Fern-like pufferfish slowly expand and explode into Fizzle if you don’t kill them fast enough - which status effect they give you depends on their color. Tappi-like octopuses can grapple you and break the weapons in your pockets. The Kara-like anglerfish are mimics: they pretend to be apps, but when you try to pick them up, they attack. Their attacks are unavoidable if you fall for the bait, so you have to learn to not pick up apps until combat is over (the bait ones automatically brick at the end of combat). And finally, Eclaire-like eels can latch onto you and not only drain your health but slow you down as well. (A lot of these feel really unfair but I’m not a game designer by trade, go easy on me lol)
I haven’t put too much thought into how the Ray boss fight would look, because I think the boss needs to encapsulate the themes of the dungeon and that’s been the trickiest thing to figure out. The aspects of startup culture central to each canon dungeon are pretty clear: Joblin is about overworking and the grind, Winkydink is about workplace harassment, and Styxcoin is about the blind faith and hype surrounding crypto. But in the game, Fizzle as a company is more generic and representative of the tech space as a whole in all its aspects, so it’s  hard to narrow it down to a single theme. My best idea right now, given that Fizzle makes a food product, is for the dungeon to be centered around irresponsible use of science and progress for the sake of progress without considering whether that progress is actually healthy or safe. It’s made very clear throughout the game that Fizzle is not actually safe to consume, and I think there could be a fun implication that “Not only were we cursed, but when we went under they dumped all our leftover product in the water and it mutated us even further.” I do think this is a fun idea, but the unfortunate thing is that in this case, Fern would actually be more thematically relevant as a final boss than Ray. Maybe what Ray is guilty of here is lack of oversight? Just blindly trusting his scientists to know what’s best and not pushing for any kind of regulation? It’s kind of a departure from how Fizzle went under canonically, but it’s the best I’ve got right now.
I’m very much rambling at this point but I had to get these ideas down dammit. If there’s a way to turn this into a fanfic you know I’ll definitely try and write it but this feels more like a visual art project that is way beyond the scope of my abilities.
How commissions, adopts and payment will work
I will be using Cash app cause it is way easier to. Patreon and PayPal a pretty difficult to make and they both will tax you. So I thought Cash app will be best and it is easier to set up.
I'll try to keep the costs on adopts and commissions as low as possible
RULES:
NO FETISH ART (ew, J's)
NO NSFW COMMISSIONS
NO BEGGING (begging for a commission that breakes the rules will get you NOTHING! I WILL IGNORE YOU AND WILL BLOCK YOU IF YOU KEEP IT UP)
Adopt prices:
Ok, so for adopts it varies, chances are some are going to be expensive for u guys. The highest expense for an adopt with better design and quality is going to be $20 (that cost also goes for adopts that come in two). some simple adopts are going to be at least $2. Some might be $10 depending on the design of the adopt.
When it comes to paying for an adopt you want YOU HAVE TO HAVE MONEY TO PAY ON THE SPOT. I really don't want to go through the trouble of having to hunt you down and harass you for not paying for the adopt. NO YOU CAN'T PAY LATER, if you don't have money for the adopt i'm sorry, better luck next time. If you don't pay I WILL GIVE THE ADOPT TO SOMEONE ELSE WHO WILL PAY.
for commissions it's simple:
ask for what you want me to draw and i'll draw it
PAY FIRST, BEFORE i start drawing the commission. You have to pay first!
Once money is sent, I draw it then I give it to you once it's finished. :)
Commision prices:
I will be open for commissions when I say I am. The max amount of open commissions are three
for a sketch it's $5 (the image examples i'm using were art trades and requests in the past)
(In this sketch there's colors but in a sketch commission there will be no color)
Tumblr media
for a normal colored commission it will be $10 (no background)
Tumblr media
For a full colored commission it will be $20 (Includes background and shading and more detail)
The shading will vary on the commission.
(this is not a requested or an art trade art piece but this is an example on what it would be like, except not blurry XD)
Tumblr media
If you guys have any questions PLEASE ASK!
THANK U!!!
suicide awarness month.
HOTLINES LINKS: 1 2 3 4
Tumblr media
since it’s september and September is suicide awareness month i am here to tell you, you can live, you can continue to live, no matter how much pain you feel now, no matter how empty, mad or whatever you feel right now. no matter how bad you think you are or worthless or how much hate you carry inside.
i and so many others are the living proof.
i hit being 6 months sh clean recently, i relapsed a good couple times in the past (over) 3 years, i started the “i am sober” app counting after one of my relapses and honestly when i had a bad moment recently and checked to see how long i’ve been clean it took me by surprise. i was just aiming for 3 months as that was last goal before i relapsed 6 months ago.
i no longer am in touch with my toxic friends, i no longer hate myself 24/7, i no longer feel empty and sad and just horrible 24/7, i have bad days, but that’s life, the thing is there are so many things i love that i wouldn’t love if i hadn’t lived:
high school, i never thought i’d even reach this stage in my life, while big parts of it suck, it changed me, overall time does that, but that’s also where i met my current friend group and they’re the best people i have ever met. truly. i love them wholeheartedly.
my new dog (i typed god instead od dog at first and it’s quite funny), while yes this means my old, childhood dog passed away i think of all the years i got to spend with her, because i didn’t end it, i think of all the pets, hugs and kissed i wouldn’t give her if i was gone, i think of my new dog and how i could never go to get her with my parents and how i could never play with her, meet up with her dog friends and again all the hugs, kisses she would’ve missed out on.
concert, i went to my first ever like actual concert this summer, the concert aka the eras tour, i got to see the Taylor Swift live, sing her songs alongside so many that love her and alongside my friends, i got so many videos and memories from that night, i got to trade bracelets and make them, come up with a last minute fit, which i still loved.
i got to discover Taylor Swift’s music, which I love, so much, it started after midnights were out, so i would’ve been long gone before they came out, this carries more with it obviously her new albums (ttpd or the tv), the concert etc.
dye my hair, i dyed it colorfully for the summer and discovered a color that i feel comfortable in!
live long enough to party for my friends 18th birthdays and mine!!
a crush liking me back (self explanatory)
and truly so much more that i got to live in those years, just think about the possibilities, life is hard at times, but i personally as someone who has been at their lowest, think it’s so fucking worth it. life is beautiful.
