Transformers one swap au
It has begun, people are making swap aus and I can finally share the brain worm.
(I desperately need good sentinel and evil optimus to survive ok?)
I think optimus would be the false prime with megatron as as his second in comand. 50 cycles ago, Orion pax, the Primes trusted archivist sent them on a suicide mission. with the aid of megatron, his conjux, they killed them all. The remaining population lives beneath the ground in kaon. A city centered around a massive collyseum that hosts the kaon muera. A select few are allowed to fight for a chance to join the Primes high guard.
The matrix would still be lost and the quintessons would still be up there. But the war never ended, the mines are replaced by a massive underground drone factory. not OSHA approved so tragically many smiths die, a sacrifice their prime is willing to make.
Sentinel would be the adventurous yet reckless miner with his AR-1 (arachnid) as his best friend and protector. Together since the beginning they been working together seamlessly like a well oiled machine.... If you ignore sentinels uther infatuation with joining the Primes guard, he's constantly kicked out of the kaon collyseum as he tries to snop in on the gladiators. He hopes to become one, just like megatron and Optimus and aid on the front lines of the war. AR-1 has no complaints of her current life (besides that damm stinger of a boss) because it's honest work to be a smtih, why would she change anything?
I think starscream should replace Elita. He is a no nonsense head of a forgery. He has no time not patience for failure as he has kept a perfect efficiency record for nearly 12 cycles since being appointed. Despite his acceptance of his role and pride on his work he can't help but feel there is more for him, that and an utherly inexplicable connection he feels to skywarp and thundercracker, two of kaons best gladiators. He feels something missing
And darkwing would be B-127. Or D-816 as his designation number. But if you ask his friends (he has none) he goes by Dark. He's been trapped in sublevel 50 for so long and he is so so glad to have some new friends!
Bee would replace darkwing as a mine boss who cares very little for much other than racing, fighting, and pleasing the prime even at the expense of the miners. Doing anything for his 5 minutes of glory he'll step on the back of anyone, specially uppity cogless bots who should learn their place.
Elita would replace starscream. As the old leader of the high guard she saw her bots and Primes fall at the hands of those they trusted. She became bitter with the death of chromia in the last battle and decided it was every bot for themselves. Jazz and Prowl are her right hand mechs (reluctantly)
Onto the lore.
I did think of changing the comflict of the quintessons a bit. Instead of mining for energon, having the bots forge weapons like a massive underground factory, forging drones and guns for the Primes guard. Calling them cogless smiths.
Optimus and megatron keep the ilusion that the war is still going on massively all around cybertron and that they along with with their guards depart to the surface every cycle to fight on the front lines to protect them all. They should all be glad they serve on kaon, the last safe city in cybertron. Every time, they return with only a handful of drones.
In truth, they are giving drones, weapons and even cogless bots to the quintessons as payment for their debt.
----
I'm not sure how I would swap the Primes other than swap their order. Make someone else AR-1 favorite prime so that they become the simbol for the decepticons and so that optimus takes their Tcog. I'm thinking of prima or onyx.
make alpha trion be replaced with megatronus so he's the one who tells the cogless bots the truth.

So in relation to a previous post about the Primes, a perfectly timed leak reveals the next Generations toy line will be 13 Prime themed! …Again. Because Power of the Primes did so fan-slagging-tastic the first go around. -vividly recalls all the Prime Master toys stacked in clearance bins-
Still, unlike PotP, this at least suggests we’re getting actual toys of the 13 that aren’t hastily disguised Pretenders.
The leaks so far, Prime wise, include:
Solus Prime
Alchemist Prime
Micronus Prime
Prima
Alpha Trion
Megatronus Prime (The Fallen)
Oynx Prime
As mentioned previously, the initial Aligned designs were overly complex, making them difficult to translate without redesigning them. Thus far, attempts have been made with simplifying them, with Micronus, Alchemist, and Quintus in particular.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With IDW at the time using the RiD15 and Cyberverse designs of Micronus and Alchemist, implying these are probably their designs going forward.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The others meanwhile don’t yet have “modern designs” with Alpha Trion typically being his G1 design run though stylization depending on the cartoon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Megatronus in particular will be interesting to see because he’s gone through multiple incarnations.
Tumblr media
Though his Mazinger Z inspired G1 form from PotP seems to be his current interpretation Hasbro’s used the most outside of his far more famous Bayformers design.
Tumblr media
It pretty much leaves what Solus, Prima and Oynx will be like. Presumably Solus will be her POTP cartoon design, but capable of Transforming.
Tumblr media
Into what I have no idea. A construction vehicle, maybe?
Oynx Prime is pry the most peculiar. The first Beast Mode Transformer, his robot (beast?) mode suggests he’s a dragon centaur, but what he actually turns into besides that is unknown.
“A Transformer who changes from beast t’ beast. Hoo boy, now I’ve seen everything…”
His most well known role was in IDW, with it being revealed he was actually Shockwave as part of a time travel paradox that informed that universe’s lore.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Presumably his toy would reference Shockwave on some level but that remains to be seen.
Prima is also weird. He’s depicted as a knight nowadays, which if Hasbro wanted to be lazy, they could just retool Bay Optimus’ knight form.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But he also has G1/2 designs to skew close to the G1-ish designs Alchemist and the others currently have to match Legacy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So it’ll be very interesting to see what the modern Prime designs will become in this toy line, with Nexus Prime and Amalgamous who I’m most interested in seeing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Personally my suggestion for Amalgamous would be to make him a Six Changer like Quickswitch.
Tumblr media
But we shall see in time!

An idea of a plot for Cult of the Primes AU. But again, it's just an idea, so feel free to veto any of this. (And it is an AU so...)
I feel like Hot Rod turned Rodimus Prime would be most likely to rebel.
He wasn't originally chosen to represent Liege Maximo's province/city, he's not even directly from the city just an offshoot called Nyon, but in the city's highest priests' eyes Hot Rod was the next best choice due to multiple factors. The first major factor being their original candidate got extremely sick a few days before the candidates were to be sent off. The other factor being that Hot Rod was still innocent so to speak and known to be quite a prodigy in regards to religious learnings and teaching. So, they send Hot Rod instead. As it ended up turning out, that was the correct choice because Hot Rod managed to "win" the title of Prime.
At first Hot Rod was a bit excited to become Prime. No one from Liege Maximo's domain had gotten the Primacy in a long while and he even saw that the saint, Saint Megatronus, was impressed even from the sidelines. He knew that darker parts existed sure, arguably Liege Maximo was the "darkest" of the Original 13 Primes, but Hot Rod now Rodimus Prime didn't expect how deep the rabbit hole went.
Like you said just with a different character, Rodimus would be horrified by what the Matrix showed him. He holds onto the idea that maybe this was expected, the priests closest to the Primacy help make sure Unicron's influence never finds Cybertron through sacrifices and he's seen executions of heretics.
What breaks him is the Matrix showing him a small vision/flashback of Liege Maximo's perspective of the Well of AllSparks being created. Rodimus was always told that Solus Prime sacrificed herself to stop her siblings from fighting and the Well was created where she died. What Liege Maximo experienced was watching Prima, Alpha Trion, Micronus Prime, Nexus Prime, and Amalgamous Prime going behind their family's back to sacrifice an unconscious Solus Prime to their father, Primus, and Liege Maximo just so happened to spot it on accident, but never told a spark besides letting the Matrix take the memory. What the Matrix intended was to teach Rodimus that some myths are watered down for most of the population due to the true version posing a threat to the order it wanted. What Rodimus saw was that the Primes were willing to kill each other and lie to everyone to make sure their hold on this corrupt Cybertron never went away.
Rodimus, in his mind, decides this can't stand, but he also can't tell anyone lest he's accused of being a heretic.
That's just an idea to get the plot going, but I'm not familiar enough with Cult of the Lamb to saw how it goes from there.
*dusts this ask off*
Hey Ambush lmao I somehow completely lost this one and just found it at the very bottom of my pile loool
ANYWAY! That's so twisted, and such a deviation from the usual story! The brothers killing Solus, I never would've expected that. Especially since, ya know... in canon, it's actually LM's fault. The first plsce my thoughts went to was, Liege Maximo is lying and manipulating Rodimus for some reason. He does have a track record of underhanded tactics and scheming, sooo 👀 maybe he's trying to turn the new Prime against his siblings. Get the newcomer to worship him and only him. Idk what his plans are but it could definitely be smthn fun and sinister
Bonus points of Acolyte Rue as we've invented him still exists. The Liege Maximo communicating with Rodimus from the ether is a sliver of his spark--his darkest pieces and tendencies that were stripped from him when he died in the Cataclysm and returned to the Well. So this manifestation of Liege Maximo is a part of him, an amalgamation of all his worst traits, but Rodimus doesn't know that. The rest of him is embedded in his suicidal self-loathing incredibly depressed Acolyte, who is entirely unaware of the situation 🤭

Well then, here we are! We have:
Prima: the classic leader of the 13 (Zeta is leader instead in TFOne.) First Matrix-bearer, wields the Star Saber which depending on the continuity is a minicon trio team that turns into a giant sword. Dunno about TFOne.
Solus: the first femme Cybertronian. Best blacksmith there ever was and forged all of the Prime's weapons & gadgets including her own, named uh the Forge. It's a giant mallet.
Vector: The only Prime & Cybertronian with the ability to time travel (and go across the universe faster than any train.) He did this with his gadget, the Blades of Time, which are not actually blades but an hourglass-thingy that he used to travel through time/the universe.
Alchemist: while Vector could *travel* across time, Alchemist could *see* across time. He also was an alchemist (not as in science exactly), learning all about the "elements of the natural world". He had his gadget, the Lenses, which he used to see this shit. These Lenses also allowed him to see misarranged flashes of the future.
Alpha Trion: Vector traveled time and Alchemist saw across time, but Alpha just wrote it down for the history books. His main job besides recording history was to also record the future, I'm assuming as prophecies. I infer he did not have this gift in TFOne, or else they'd have killed Sentinel ages ago :3.
Amalgamous: this guy owned the most nuclear-powered, super-duper-charged t-cog in the history of Cybertron. Guy could transform into ANYTHING! Infinite alt-modes! Just imagine the possibilities! Probably why he was the prankster of the Primes. This particular rare type of Transformer is called a Shifter. Other shifters have less ease doing it.
Micronus: the first Combiner team, only this guy was 110% hivemind. 5 tiny clones that were entirely linked whether combined or not. With time Combiner teams had to be individual mechs that were their own persons. Shame :p His weapon was the Creation Stone, not to be confused with the Emberstone, since the Creation stone created pocket dimensions and the Emberstone created life.
Quintus: This is the guy who owned the Emberstone. One of their creations is the Quintessons, which obviously backfired really really bad and was a horrible horrible idea, apparently. Other creations include the Maximals (cybertronians with animal alt modes only), Insecticons, and Sharkicons. He also was a *real* scientist.
Onyx: the first Cybertronian to have an animal alt-mode. He was a shaman & protector of nature. Using his Trypyche Mask, he could see others' auras or into their souls, different times (similar to Alchemist), and even different afterlifes across the universe.
Liege Maximo: Depends across iterations, but he was the least friendly of the Primes; didn't trust anyone, prioritized himself above others. His weapon was the Liegan Darts, which were just really strong toxin darts. He was also a master manipulator through speech, just like Megatron. He took command over the ancient Maximals that his brother Quintus created.
Megatronus/The Fallen: in some iterations he is as bad as Liege Maximo, but takes it a step further by outright turning against his brothers. His weapon was the Requim Blaster. He *is* known for his strength-- but Prima is greatest. But in TFOne hes a good boy 💖💖💖💖💖
And lastly, The Thirteenth: Hasbro REFUSES to give the Thirteenth a solid name, so he is either one of two people in every iteration:
A. Zeta Prime, a dude made up because of the absence of a solid name. He doesn't have much going on with him, but he serves as leader of the Primes in TFOne. In a few iterations he's a jerk.
B. The first life of Optimus Prime. Meaning that *our* Optimus Prime is the Thirteenth reborn.
Or C, he doesn't freakin' exist and there's actually only 12 Primes.
✨️~Thank you for coming to my TedTalk~✨️
Would anyone like to info dump on me about the primes?
I know basically a lot of stuff when it comes to the mains, like bumblebee, Optimus, ratchet, megaton, etc.
But I know nothing about primes. So if that’s anyone’s hyper fixation and wanna info dumb… info dump to me please, I’d love to know.
Tf1 and tfp have me in a chokehold rn.

Courage Of Stars Snippet
(This is a small snippet of my ‘Courage Of Stars’ Transformers series that follows Original Characters; Altair Prime, Moonbean, Drax and Honeypot as they try to solve their problems and find their place in life after Cyberton’s Fall. THIS snippet focuses on Autobot Jolt and how he sees the ‘Nexus’ around him and how he interacts with the people living there.
Following characters; Jolt, Moonbean, Songbird, Daybreaker (Mentioned), Armsmaster (Mentioned), Faultline (Mentioned), Optimus Prime (Mentioned), Nova Prime (Mentioned), Altair Prime (Mentioned), Prima (Mentioned), Solus Prime (Mentioned), Megatronus Prime (Mentioned), Nexus Prime (Mentioned), Onyx Prime (Mentioned) Primon (Mentioned), Guardian Prime (Mentioned), Vector Prime (Mentioned), Alpha Trion (Mentioned).
Songbird Belongs To @wolfsrainrules and @north-peach. Moonbean, Daybreaker, Armsmaster, Faultline and Altair Prime Belongs To Me.
Pinglist; @vice-virtue)
"Fleet Admiral!" A young femling called, catching his attention. He turned to look, saw Moonbean doing so at the corner of his optics, and watched a young, pale blue with dark almost Allspark blue highlights stumble to a stop a few steps away from them.
She was pretty, not in the spark dropping way that some femmes had before their decrease in numbers but in the way she held herself. Soft, excited and happy. Her field bubbled with positive emotions that stretched out to envelop his own.
He doubted she was aware of it, as she only had optics for the seeker beside him. Moonbean's lips twitched, telling him that she too had been subjected to the little femlings field.
"You know my name, Songbird." She said gently, her denta curling slightly.
Songbird, the femme, blushed a dark blue that spread across her faceplate and her cooling fans kicked on. "Fleet Admiral!" She said again, her fans turning off as she shook herself from her flustered state.
Moonbean sighed, and because he was close to her he could feel her field flicker with resignation and a small amount of fondness that caused him to smile.
"Yes?"
"The Rarities are finished, ma'am!" The grounder femme said, throwing her hands in an untidy salute that screamed rookie. "Armsmaster and Faultline have finished updating them, the rooms are ready for use again." Songbird grinned, field bursting with joy.
She was cute. And very bubbly. He thought to himself, amused. But, what was 'Rarities'? He hadn't heard of them before. At least, not that he could remember.  It might have been something from before the war, however. Jolt’s memories of those cycles were hazy at best and nonexistent at worse. It hadn’t helped that he had only been just reaching the age of youngling when the war had been kickstarted instead of the hushed whispers and rumours.
"Oh?" Moonbean inquired, moving past the small grounder with a wave for him to follow. He did, curious over what they were talking about and where they were going. "Anything else?"
Songbird nodded, bouncing on her pedes as she walked between them. "Yup! Armsmaster said he made a few adjustments and stuff, Faultline called him a perfectionist and kicked him out, so he went off to sulk somewhere. Probably with Seafire." She looked over at the seeker pointedly with a small, teasing smile.
Moonbean huffed, a small sound that somehow managed to carry her amusement, and shook her helm. "Of course," she said dryly. "What adjustments?"
"He made them bigger, like the real ones, so it's easier to see them even if others are already there."
"You've already played around with them, haven't you?" Songbird shot her superior an overly innocent look, causing both of them to snort.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." She answered, convincing no one.
“I’m sure,” Moonbean answered. They moved down the corridor, passing by a couple cybertronian’s that nodded or saluted Moonbean.
That came to a stop at a large blue door that Songbird opened and stepped inside, Jolt and Moonbean following behind her.
The room was large, overly so with high ceilings that could probably have space even if Daybreaker stood on three clones of himself. Sitting in the middle of the room was twelve altars, one of them was covered in a large grey tarp that hid the name etched on the plague from view.
Jolt hummed and after getting a nod from Moonbean walked closer to the altars. He squinted at the plagues and read the old glyphs there with a feeling of anticipation in his tanks.
PRIMON. One read in ancient cybertronian. FOREFATHER; FIRST OF THE PRIMES, it said underneath a small symbol of a planet.
It was curious, for it to have read of a cybertronain so ancient that the only mentions of him were in the recordings and documents of the Original Primes, and even then it was only in the letters between Alpha Trion and Vector Prime that they had managed to salvage that had even mentioned him.
PRIMA, the next one said and like the first, a large sword with the words Star Saber inscribed on it sat above the rest. VICTORY; ONE WHO LEAD OTHERS INTO LIGHT.
NOVA. He read the next one, his symbol small, almost unseen but undoubtedly of a telescope. CURIOSITY; HE WHO BROUGHT OTHERS AND MADE THEM INTO ONE.
It was of the Primes, the first ones. The ones who had made Cybertron from the ground up, made their society and rules, traditions and others.
GUARDIAN. TRANQUILLITY; HE WHO BROUGHT BOTH THE GOOD AND THE BAD. A circle of flags, one with Cybertrons main symbol, another for Caminus. Antila. Paradon. Velocitron. Archon. Neutronia and a few others he didn’t have the name for but could guess were colonies.
Cybertron colonies. He looked over the words and it hit him a moment later what the Prime had wanted when he lived. Equality and Unification.
VECTOR. STABILITY; THE ONE THAT SOUGHT BALANCE BEFORE ALL ELSE. An hourglass half-empty-half-full, fitting for the guardian of time and space.
ALPHA TRION; EFFICIENCY; HE WHO THOUGHT OF NONE BAR THE NEXT. A quill was next, amusing in its accuracy as Optimus had always called his older mentor an avid writer.
SOLUS; COURAGEOUSLY; SHE WHO MADE THE OLD INTO THE NEW. Of course, Solus Prime’s symbol was that of her Forge, frighteningly detailed and realistic.
NEXUS; IDEALISM; ONE WHO SEARCHED FOR PEACE IN WAR. Nexus Prime’s symbol was baffling, a shield that was marked and dented yet still usable even if it looked worse the wear.
ONYX; TEMPTATION; HE WHO BROUGHT HIS FATE UPON OTHERS.  Large wings, spreading to both of the edges of the altar. It was the largest picture he had seen on the monuments and if what he knew of the Prime was true, oddly fitting for the beast.
MEGATRONUS; STRENGTH; HE WHO BROUGHT BOTH FEAR AND COURAGE TO ALLIES AND FOES ALIKE. Underneath his words were visible even if his symbol was not, four large claw marks disfiguring the picture from view that he couldn’t make heads or tails of what it was. FALLEN, LOST HIS WAY FROM THE CORE OF THAT WHICH THE EVERTREE GREW.
ALTAIR; WISHFUL; THE ONE THAT LIVES IN THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE. Even more oddly, Altair Primes symbol was of three things, a circle, a square and a thin line that looked like a sword.
On the last one, covered by the trap he could make out just the slightest of writing. It seemed to call to his spark, seeping into his every joint and wire, warming his frame and leaving him in awe. And even though he could not see it, his optics seemed to light and glow a bright Matrix blue like never before.
OPTIMUS. It said, neatly etched into the smooth metal beneath the Autobot faction symbol. HOPE; HE WHO IN DARKNESS, BRINGS THE GREATEST OF LIGHTS.
It was just words, glyphs of a Prime, it shouldn’t have had him venting heavily and feeling weak in the knees, nor feeling like his spark was about to burst with how much it had swelled up. There was a feeling that rushed through him, powerful and relaxing in equal measures. It was an emotion he hadn’t felt in a long time, and even when he had never had he felt it to such extent.
Hope.
He stared wide optic at the altar for an unknown amount of time and felt small, but not weak nor insignificant almost in a sense, protected and loved. It was something he could not name, it was a feeling that seemed to curl through his whole body and almost, it almost seemed to strengthen his frame.
“The altars have a purpose besides being a monument,” Moonbean interrupted him, breaking him from the foggy daze like trance he had been trapped in. He turned to look at the femme as she watched Songbird scutter over to the altar with Nova itched onto it. She was smiling, soft and at peace, in a way that he hadn’t ever seen her look like.
It was nice. She definitely looked beautiful when she smiled like that. Her sharp features and piercing optics softening and making her look more approachable, to him at least.
“Or for us to see what they looked like.” She continued. Songbird pressed something on the altar, close to the symbol - it probably was the symbol - and the top of it lit up, frizzily and sparking for a few seconds before a holograph appeared. A mech was made out of the pixels, he was tall, towering over Songbird and even though it should have been terrifying it wasn’t. He was black, with white legs and arms. Large with two wheels on both hands and feet and his biolights were a bright orange-yellow that came from his lower chest and kibble sticking from his shoulders.
The strangest thing about him was the long, rotary blade-like kibble that extended from his shoulders-to-forearms and beyond his possible reach unless he was really, really flexible. The blades looked like helicopter rotaries but at the same time, they didn’t.
“The response you got from Optimus Prime’s monument is normal.” She said. “The others get different reactions to the Prime the bot in question has the closest ties too.”
“Closest…?” Jolt wondered. “Then, who is the one you’re closest too?”
Moonbean’s smile dropped, not disappearing completely but not as content and happy was before. “Altair.”
He nodded, watching her with considering optics. Wishful, huh?

So, Optimus is the 13th Prime? Why is his name not recognized? My guesses: 1. It's so old and not used that it has been lost in translation. 2. Alpha Trion, the Archivist, erased the name from their history. So, if we go by what has been supplied in the Aligned continuity and the Covenant of Primus, and, if what I've read is correct and Optimus translates to "Visionary" and Prime to "One", then Optimus Prime should mean something along the lines of "Visionary One" or "One of/with Vision". And, (as pointed out on Wikipedia and TF Wiki), his phrase is "All are One". We know that OP is known for saying "Until All are One". Why the change? I have my own thoughts. And... maybe they aren't quite right, but it does put some heavy weight behind why he continues to be revived. In TFP Season 3, Optimus is given the choice to join the Allspark, as Alpha Trion speaks with him. The Matrix offers itself up to Smokescreen who denies it as Optimus makes the choice to live. Smokescreen then grabs the Forge, and Prime is rebuilt (into the image Solus has chosen, but, that's for another thought process). At the end of TFP, Optimus merges his spark with the Allspark in order to save Cybertron from Unicron once more. Here, we know he is then brought before his fellow Primes and put to training. We don't know for how long or when it started, or who all worked with him besides Micronus (another strand elsewhere). Optimus speaks with Bumblebee, is later brought back in order to fight Megatronus, and then «very fucking painfully» revived by the Primes. Why? Then, we have over in IDW's continuity an Optimus Prime who had been reverted to Orion Pax once more only to be turned back into Optimus. He... is a more fiery individual. He seeks justice, calls out the council with Megatron own words, and then leads a faction in a war he does not want to fight. (There are also parallels to the situation as seen in Megatron's assassination of Sentinel, the MegaRod relationship, and OP's own downward spiral... but it's late and I need to write. This out before I lose momentum). He is contradictory to his own beliefs, his own desires. Why? He sacrificed his spark during the war of Primes in exchange for the opportunity to come back and live among Prima's creations, reincarnated as Orion Pax: humble data clerk or fiery law enforcer. Both stimulated by the words of a Miner/Gladiator (who was also foretold in the Covenant of Primus). Why did OP sacrifice his spark for the opportunity to come back? I think it boils down to a few simple things: 1. Megatronus betrays and kills Solus Prime 2. "All are One", and, the big one... 3. Guilt. OP's "vision" was of a united Cybertron. He watched as his fellow primes waged war on each other, sparked by Megatronus's betrayal, which came from Leige Maximo's influence... And, he couldn't stop it. He was meant to act as the unifying force behind the group of primes... and he failed. He is leading a war, in the hope of unifying Cybertron once more, and is failing. Is his failure, his continued failure, the cause for his perpetual turmoil? Is that why he can't stay dead? Because, he can't realize his dream? I don't know. But, this puts a whole new understanding (for myself) of Optimus's character. That, underneath what many believe to be a collected exterior, the whole of his existence, the reason for his being, is to fail... or, to find a way to reverse the failure that was the civil war of the Primes. (More to come. Eventually. Solus and Rodimus. Megatron and the Requiem blaster. Vector's choice. Prima and his "siblings" (why Optimus?). The Dark Prime.)

Given that Megatron in IDW was a miner, also a kind of manual worker, there’s two possibilities:
1. Orion Pax and Megatron knew each other before the Cybertronian civil war.
2. Megatron only met Optimus after he became Prime.
This also brings up the possibility that the whole backgrounds of Optimus and Megatron have been changed drastically. Afterall, IDW Megs was a miner, but I have a feeling in this continuity that Megatron wasn’t so much a manual laborer as he might have been a soldier or maybe from a higher rank, as it seems like a number of the Decepticons featured have some kind of military hardware preference to their alt mode. A sort of flip flop with how Megs and Optimus have usually been portrayed in past depictions, though it kind of works. Afterall, big rig convoy trucks are often associated with working class Americans. Megatron might have been an archivist, probably as a kind of vice versa, given that Megatron has never been an archivist in fiction before, but there is some evidence that might point to that direction. Megatron is often talking about history and “not repeating the mistakes of the past” a lot, makes me feel like he’s going to be revealed to be an archivist, or perhaps a historian, kind of mirroring how Dot is married to a history professor, Alex.
Or I could be wrong and Megatron is a straight up miner but has a violent streak, though he comes off as more soldier like than Optimus does at times.
As for the 13 Primes, from the get go, a lot, if not all of the designs here seem to be large depatures from other 13 designs in previous fiction. Especially with how Quintus looks very, very different from his other previous incarnates, since he also seems to lack the tendrils/jellyfish look of his original Covenant of Primus look.
I think I can see at least 8, including Quintus, Primes, from the objects associated with them to various design elements associated with them and lore drops throughout the series. Those Primes are Alpha Trion, Prima, Nexus Prime, Solus Prime, Onyx Prime, and Megatronus.
There also look to be, but not quite certain, at least 2 other feminine looking Primes besides Solus in this line up, but that might how I discern the designs present. The next to last one on the right looks very feminine to me, at least design wise.
But anyways those are my thoughts.
with everything else that happened I almost forgot we got some Optimus Prime origin story!!!
we still know barely anything, but we now know for sure that:
Optimus has the Matrix of Leadership
It was given to him directly by a Prime
It was given to him specifically because the civil war began
The civil war began as a fight over 'Cybertron's future'
Optimus used to be Orion Pax, and looked considerably different (a la G1)
Orion wasn't a dock worker, an archivist, or a cop, but a manual labourer of some kind
things we can now infer:
presumably, unlike in G1, Megatron did not attack and injure Orion Pax. when and how exactly they first met is still unknown
Orion may have been part of an oppressed labour class
The Primes (or at least some of them) had a more active presence on Cybertron compared to other continuities
Optimus got his new name and frame directly from the Matrix
The Matrix is extremely powerful
some screenshots I think are cool:
