I am blessedly finished with the fucking Justice League International/America comics (plus some stuff with the Justice League Quarterly and Annual comics). I hate these comics so much, but I will admit that they got substantially better/more tolerable whenever Giffen and DeMatteis weren't writing. This series got maybe 6 laughs out of me total in 100+ comics. I enjoyed less than 10 stories/issues in 100+ issues of comics in this run. That ratio is fucking abysmal.
There's the Ted Kord/Blue Beetle 2 focused stories that I enjoyed from the JLI/JLA/etc stuff:
Justice League America (1989) #26 - "Slice and Dice!" or "There's Something Very Wrong with the Blue Beetle!" (brainwashed Ted tried to kill Maxwell Lord)
Justice League America Annual (1992)#6- "Maximum Eclipse" (Ted faces down Eclipso on his own)
Justice League America Annual (1996) #10- "The Alliance" (an elseworlds-themed story set in the far future with a cloned Justice League International)
Justice League Quarterly (1992) #9- "Frenzy" (the JLI gets dosed with a frenzy virus and have an hour to find out who's gonna go berzerk and get a cure)

Cont. from Below (Post #7)
Sparrows
“Where is the signal?” “Look.”
Feather Three pointed to a small clearing ahead for Feather Two to discover Shadow Sparrow in combat, surrounded by an icy landscape.
“Oh shit!” “Let’s do this?” “Yep. It’s time.”
The two lept forward among the trees, realizing that most of the fire was centered over the Worgen front line. They began climbing lower among the branches and looking for targets after drawing their small crossbows. Feather Two took aim and pulled on the trigger. He felt the slight recoil while pulling back on the crank and notching the next bolt, all in the same action. When his first bolt claimed its target, a small explosion went off. The Worgen’s shoulder burst, spreading gore all around to reveal inside organs (including its beating heart).
Feather Three loosed a larger bolt that opened up to capture a Worgen inside a barbed net. As soon as the warrior struggled, the barbs took hold and dug in deep. With each tug or attempt to gain freedom, the sharp curves embedded among the net’s webbing sought to slice further along the Worgen’s flesh. Laced with some of the Shadow Sparrow’s poison, the Worgen’s blood poured out more than anticipated, which sent the warrior into a panicked frenzy. By the time Feather Three had another netted bolt in place, the Worgen’s struggles had halted.
—
Left Wing repositioned stealthfully, gaining a new line of sight with the addition of the fires falling from the treetops. Their main sniper required shelter from the rainfall, and the sighters needed a wider range to call out potential targets. A large pine provided natural refuge on top of a rocky rise. There were plenty of lookout notches to reposition to keep the enemy guessing once shots resumed.
“Swapping ammo.”
“The fun shit?” “Yea. Azerite should break the ranks further. Try spotting the casters. Then the berzerkers.”
“You got it.”
Within moments, the arcane sniper peered through her unique scope and down the barrel at one of the targets. Just as her finger pulled on the trigger, the Worgen turned to peer back at her precise location. “Fuck!” “Did he just….” “Yeah.” “Won’t it still….” All of Left Wing pulled their heads down and waited for the azerite bullet to hit, that is, if it did.
Worgen Front Line
Haywood blinked and took in the scene around him. A fallen Worgen lay dead in a web. Another bled to death with half his torso gone. Several appeared to be bleeding to death from self-inflicted wounds. And still, the forest burned, raining down branches from above. He could feel something occurring within him, some unseen affliction warring with the Worgen’s ability to heal. His blood felt near boiling as it fought to keep him standing, to remain alive. Even as his heart pounded inside his chest, his feet felt heavy with each step. Whatever this enemy had hit them with was unlike anything he’d ever known. Was it a spell? Maybe if he got past the boundary….
Movement caught his attention to the right through the tree line.
“Over there,” Haywood pointed his axe before stepping forward. A sizeable clawed hand reached across his chest, barring his advancement. Ears pointed upwards inquisitively at the gesture when the ground suddenly burst open, and a figure appeared, attacking. Haywood lifted his battle axe and issued a warning growl. The two beside him roared. One pounded their fists together while the other swept their club toward the night elf.
Sparrows
Feather Four had waited as long as they could, but the smoke lingering across the ground had begun reaching them. The first footfalls that approached drew the first from the earth, a distraction to catch them off, guard. It apparently worked, as only one of the three massive Worgen took a swipe at him. Retreating backward, the first Feather Four barely missed having his ribcage cracked to pieces. The second Feather Four eased from the ground with blade drawn, behind the three Worgen unaware. Crouched low, he quickly ran the line and his blade across the back of their legs to render their mobility useless. A clean swipe sent blood splattering all across the ground, and the second Feather Four moved out of sight.
Feather Four number one pointed his palms toward the three and lifted his hands upwards. Now that the sacrifice had been made and blood had been spilled, vines rose from the ground, entangling along the three Worgen’s legs and torsos. Thorns sprang forth, digging into the massive warriors before him, protecting him from them. He saw Feather Four two had taken cat form and positioned himself strategically should any of them gain their freedom from his brambles.
“Time for us to add to the light show,” he muttered, calling down beams of painful Starfire onto the three Worgen. When their cries were not loud enough, “Again,” he whispered. Theo had brought druids of his own.
—
When the mechanical sparrows returned to their roost and all were accounted for, one of the Feather Sixs sent a bird call to signal for a mount. The pair loaded up the small caged crate, and away the mount went. With hands now free, they took out binoculars to measure the state of the field below. They gave themselves a full minute to take in the chaotic state of the Worgen, the location of their fellow Sparrows, and the battle the Shadow Sparrow was in before putting the binoculars away and exchanging a shared look.
Setting off, they descended the slope and headed to circle behind the Worgen front line. Their secondary job was clean-up crew: to kill those in retreat or Worgen hanging on to life.

Atari Reveals Berzerk: Recharged, The First Berzerk Games Since The 1980s - Wesley LeBlanc
Earlier this year, Atari announced that it acquired Berzerk, its sequel Frenzy, and 10 more classic arcade properties. Now, as part of Atari’s Recharged lineup, it has revealed Berzerk: Recharged, and its coming to consoles and PC later this year. The original Berzerk is an arcade game released in 1980. In it, players controlled a top-down avatar while shooting through hordes of armed robots…

A prologue and some context.
Because sometimes I need to remind myself of who I am. :) See, yes, I'm an old fart. Technically born at the very start of Gen X. And it's relevant. Here's why: I'm too young to claim to be from the Television Era, yet I'm too old to fully be from the Internet Era. I wasn't around for the dawn of either one of those--and yes, I'm definitely too old to be from the dawn of the Smartphone Era.
No, where I'm from, is the dawn of Video Games. Meaning I was a child roughly when Pong was becoming widespread, and when the early arcade games were primitive 8-bit even for early 8-bit. The vector-wireframe games from the time were things like Starhawk and Tail Gunner. Prior to Asteroids, somewhat.
I bring this up not to flex. I'm saying that this is something that's informed by my childhood memories--and my few good ones at that. Some of my first real joyful memories in my life came from the few moments I had where I played a video game, usually an arcade quarter-muncher, and did NOT suck at it. =)) Even if one of my favorite genres--the top-down maze shooter--was one of the ones I never really mastered. The things were (back then) a pain in the butt to me because arcades were made to seduce people who couldn't stay focused to save their lives, and so I was busy getting distracted by 3 or 4 other games at once, and unable to keep up with the robots.
And yes, I'm including the fantasy types from Gauntlet in with the robots since it's a video game. An adventure game running on a computer, however primitive. But consider: I've always played games where robots were a threat. Like in Berzerk, Frenzy, Robotron, Smash TV, Total Carnage, Wizard of Wor, Sega's Crack Down, and more. It was just a given in my childhood, teenage years and all of my 20s that if a game was a top-down shooter the bad guys were robots, even if they were in Dungeons & Dragons drag as per Gauntlet.
And yeah, I've mellowed some. The stick figure and blog name here are clues that I still play a version of Berzerk when possible, even if it's an ancient arcade game from 1980. But my implicit bias is right there: don't trust A.I., don't trust robots or drones. Because I also grew up on the Terminator films. I understood and still understand that if worse comes to worst, we will get nuked first and THEN all hell and Robotron breaks loose. We would be hunted while dying of radiation poisoning and nuclear winter. They would hunt us knowing we were weakened and dying and with limited numbers and firepower.
Or the deception game would come into play: A.I. would sabotage utilities in ways that would be easy to blame on the alt-right or on anarchists. Get the humans to kill each other first and waste both time and firepower. Get the humans to despise the police even more than the police hate children. Then offer yourself (Mr. A.I., Mr. Armed Drone, Mr. Roboto) as the solution to everyone's problems, exchanging a tattered and not-trusted Rule of Law for total surveillance, and Sniper's Law.
The idea is: if you didn't code it yourself, or make it yourself, then it's a product that is not your friend. Or it's a process that generated itself and as such, is no one's friend.
This is why I really don't like talking about A.I. The rational part of my mind is tempted, more and more, to say, "Okay, sure, let's get the depraved and entitled out of the process and replace right-wing fucknuts with machines all the way down." But this also means putting a non-human process, a Program, in charge. That opens a door, and that door could lead to extinction.
Sorry to go on so, but as you'd expect, any potential insurance policy against Roko's Basilisk is going to have to be involved. I have nothing against A.I. that can't be fixed by making it explicable and vetted by more than just white nerds and their rented help from other nations. Ideally A.I. would know better by now and know, for example, that people of color are humans, right? You'd think so, but not according to some of the early Google programs trained on Google Images by Google employees. Implicit bias seems to be an impossible issue with A.I. even now and a lot of that is just from letting white men and the occasional coder from India run the whole show.
So yeah, I'm pessimistic about robots and A.I. Even on a fantasy level I'd rather stick with humans, programmed to act in certain ways--there's failsafes with people that aren't present in the slightest with A.I. ;)

FUN STORY FOR PRIDE REGARDING D&D…
So, I was playing a campaign that my fiance’ at the time was DMing. I started the game as a simple female soldier who was a out and proud human lesbian. Over the course of the game, I gained an NPC Girlfiend.Well, as it turns out, there was more to my character than I realized because, apparently my supposedly human lesbian was actually HALF FREAKING TIGER and one session while interacting with a wise old guru, the old man activated my Tiger DNA and my animalistic self manifested. Only, for some odd reason, I didn’t grow a tail. I was so depressed. The conversation went like this.
Character: Wow… I’m a tiger! But… No tail?
Guru: No, unfortunately you don’t have a tail.
Character: But, I would really like a tail.
Guru: I… I suppose I could give you a vestigial one?
Character: No kind sir, I would like it to be functional.
*my fiance out of characer*: I AM NOT GIVING YOU A FUNCTIONING ATTACK TAIL!
*Me out of character*: WHO EVER SAID I WANTED TO USE IT FOR ATTACKING!??!
*My Fiance*: ….
.*My Fiance*: FUCKING LESBIANS
Guru (back in character): Enjoy your damn tail…
.My Character: *grins wildly* OH SHE WILL.
#I am absolutely not making this up#That was the best DnD campaign EVER#I loved that character#I can't remember her name though#I THINK it was either Sarabi or Sarafina.#I had named her after one of the Lion King lionesses#She was an absolute badass#her class setup was warrior/barbarian/frenzied berzerker#she went a little crazy sometimes#like me#Pride#DnD

Riley and Tippy have decided that one two edgelords are better than one! And what could be better than two separate edgelords?? Why, fusing two edgelords together making a 6ft 8 tall edgelord with an even worse attitude and a freaky ass stand, of course!!

EoD brainrot, mainly for the end of the expansion.
Spoilers below. Big ones.
Ruby's canon Commander, so she's doing main story stuff. She's doing all that good work, except maybe getting pissed at seeing Mordy again. "NOT YOU AGAIN >:V! MOVE THIS ONES MINE."
But then I was just imagining the chaotic clusterfuck that's happening in the other kiddos world due to Dragonvoid.
Cál organizing attacks and rescue missions for those on the lower levels of the Grove. Riag not actually fighting himself but summoning all the minions he can to help for the first time in years. He's still a Necromancer, damn it, and a small army of undead can help those actively fighting some. In the process tiring himself to the point he can hardly stand and just has to wait and see what will unfold.
Dion hiding in his house, upending all furniture to use as a brace to try and keep these things out. The swamp is no stranger to abnormal and evil things, but even those seem to be fighting against the new threat. Him sitting, curled in a ball and covering his head, against the table blocking the entrance. Using his weight to try and keep the only entrance shut.
Galla and Sigilis would be fighting things in Keineng, where Sigilis was helping with keeping the power grid going. Those who had never seen Charr in person getting the shit scared out of them by Galla's single minded battlelust and Sigilis manic fighting skills.
Glan in Lion's Arch picking a 'last stand' place to set up. Figuring the world is ending and finding someplace with a nice view to set his rifle up. Starting to pick off these new threats, free of charge.
Party and Valens working to help take care of civilians in the sheltered area in Seitung (they went with Galla and Sigilis to Cantha) and tend to injuries. Party smacking the living shit out of people in hysterics because There Are Kids Here and they do not need to know anything besides that it will be okay, pull yourself together.
Dei in Hemlock - not doing anything, on purpose. They know they couldn't fight whatever these things are or out run them. Even escaping when there's monsters everywhere would just end poorly. So they are just waiting for the end to come with a strange mix of sadness but also relief. Luckily, the noise the other members are making in fighting seems to be drawing attention away from them.
Mad bitching the whole time while having to kill things next to Marfach and Rhiannon to protect Diam. Who is using earth magic to keep the ground shifting so the three of them can get the advantage.
Mhonde kicking his holo-tech adjusting skills to over drive and re-calibrating Peacekeepers armor, weapons and equipment well past the point they should be. But if they're all going to die they may as well go out swinging and doing damage. And in a bright ball of sparks. Gotta have fireworks.
Cao in Hoelbrak going full frenzy and berzerking. She refuses to listen to anyone telling her to move or head to safety as she protects her siblings. She even strikes at the guards trying to help, so they leave her to it. The Cold makes for stubborn and unyielding Sylvari and she would sooner be splinters than surrender. The Norn who leave her to it can't help but find a presence of Bear in her.
"S" is confused and scared as to why the Dream is spotted with these inky strange monsters and wonders what must be happening in the waking world. As some are slain and the visions of the Dragonvoid flood the dream, he's at loss. He's never felt less in control.

what are The Girls' favorite potions??? esp agatha but answer as many as you like/can think of
agatha has a quite fun potion she enjoys playing around that boils down to "potion of berzerking" in a sense, that draws out the user's most powerfull features and enhances them and has them be on a frenzy, if ya get what i mean 😏 though there's plenty of fun growth/power related potions that she loves messing around with too ;3 she likes to use other gals's milk for those! sometimes even her own nyeheh
