i keep thinking about bertha as a ceramicist and i really love it

her being a sentimental person and creating a little something based on people she has met that have made an impression on her life. she doesnt really talk about it but if asked, she will explain some of them! just not go in depth with others lol.

she has a large antique cabinet in her home with glass doors that has all sorts of little things in it. small hand built pieces, some are faces, some are little pokemon, some are entire people (but are fairly simple in detail.) some are just nondescript little monsters. some are just small cups or bowls.

some are fairly obvious in who they represent. a small figurine of a roaring garchomp, glazed with a coat of shiny black glaze with tiny gold sparkles in it. a small meditating girl with vividly pink hair with a small meditite sitting next to it in the same pose. a turtwig, piplup and chimchar, the first two with little hats and the last with a little scarf around its neck.

some are much less obvious. such as the small cups and bowls and the little nondescript creatures. many of them are inspired by people met in passing that stuck out in her mind for whatever reason. some of them are particularly notable challengers. some are people who blipped into her life and blipped back out, but were still important in one way or another.

one piece is particularly confusing. it is a small teacup that looks like it was thrown and glazed with a lot of care. there are small, painstakingly detailed alcremie on the sides. its clear that the cup was smashed at one point, but later carefully reassembled and glued back together. if asked about it, she will state that she broke it on accident while cleaning and move on to another topic.
