Shoutout to my dad who asked me what asexual meant and when I told him he said “it sounds like you need to get laid” and to my mom who asked me what being genderfluid was and then said “why does any of that have to do with gender. Just do whatever you want” and then to my dad again who I told I wasn’t cis and who responded “I think more important than being a man or a woman is being an adult” and then right back to my bio mom who said “if you want to be a boy just do it already. Why do you care what I think. You were cooler when you were 8 and didn’t give a shit about anyone’s opinion”. Neither of you get it but you’re still pretty chill

At least until he begins falling asleep with his tongue out and waking up uncomfortable, forcing Patton to ask. Notes: A soft, tender little Moceit story about snakey bits and cuddles.

A Lost Toaddler by DramaticGarbage Hybrid AU (Gen) Rating: G Janus is not a fan of children and the feeling is largely mutual—particularly when dealing with human children alarmed by his hybrid traits. He's certainly the last caretaker any child should want...though he also isn't nearly heartless enough to ignore one in need. (Particularly one just as unwanted as he once was.) Notes: The universe says "It's free son!" and Janus says nah...or, well, he tries.

Okay here’s where I am with a fic concept.

I spent like literal weeks making this super huge document for 7 deadly sins au. The characters, the backstory, world building, all of it. But it’s *so* involved and I haven’t even worked on any actual writing of it itself just aaaaall this planning stuff.

But if we get the finale at any point and get a new character I just know it’s gonna throw off the whoooole thing.

I don’t mind like, doing it without the character but I feel like it would bug me if I haven’t posted at least some of it before that character is introduced. Because then why wouldn’t I just update it since it’s not posted yet?

This literally doesn’t matter. But I just am like UGHHH about it. I don’t even know if I want to post it! It’s good, I like it a lot. But you know thing of when you have a cool idea but you don’t feel skilled enough to pull it off? Right there.

But I made like.. 29 pages so far of just stuff for this thing. So like.. that’s something?

I've been thinking about the scene between Astarion and Araj Oblodra. I often see the interpretation that Astarion feels threatened by Araj and that she is an attacker imminently about to assault him. The latter is semi-true… she is perfectly happy to have Astarion bite her even knowing he doesn’t want to. However, if the player — the person she asks — says no, she is disappointed but respects it.

What I’m getting at is that Araj thinks of Astarion as an object, yes, but she is no threat to him unless the player is willing to let her be. Her viewpoint sucks, but she’s a drow, and Astarion and anyone else listening in would understand that this attitude is typical.

For me, the crux of the scene isn’t “Astarion is being mistreated by the drow and the player defends him” it’s “Astarion and the drow think the way he’s being mistreated is normal and the player does not.”

So he’s not worried about Araj. I’d argue she probably barely even made him uncomfortable as long as Tav doesn’t make him bite her. He’s just shocked that Tav didn’t. That’s what he needs to process. His discomfort isn't about Araj, it's about the shift in his perception of his place and function in the world. Is he still just a brain in a jar, puppetting a body that exists to do the nasty work for someone else's benefit? Or do his feelings actually matter?

In that moment, he learns whether Tav sees him as an object like Araj does, like Cazador did, or whether Tav sees him as a person. And either way, that epiphany about who he is in relation to Tav is what gives him big feelings. Because Araj Oblodra is not the threat Astarion is surprised to have avoided – Tav is.

I need someone to do a video essay-length deep dive into how 75% of the BG3 fandom fell so hard for Astarion's manipulative seductor act that they believe that's his actual personality. This man has to practice his lines and still fumbles them constantly. He flat-out says it's all a front because he believes his sex appeal is the only reason anyone would keep him around, which is tragic. When he drops the act, he becomes this kind of silly man rediscovering what it means to be himself, and what it means to both love and be loved. He says "I'm all pointy ears, love." while turning his head to show off those pointy ears. Let him be silly, let him be awkward! It's so much more authentic then him being a walking innuendo.

He has a mid charisma stat with a bonus for deception and rolled a nat 20 on all y'all.
