Our Modi. He's a Bergamasco Sheepdog. He's ginormous. Bergamascos have three types of hair: dog, wool, and goat. They intertwine and felt into what is called flocks. As they grow, we separate them so they become large, flat dreadlocks.

Today's Dog: The Berger Picard, a French herding dog! Bergers were on the brink of extinction in the post-war era, and remain rare (much like many of the native European breeds). Temperment is typically friendly and loyal, although they become skittish if they are not socialized young. A handful of Bergers play Winn Dixie in Because of Winn-Dixie. They're related to GSD (German Shephard Dogs) and Bergamasco Sheepdogs.
Today's Monkee: Carlisle Wheeling, released on Missing Links Vol 1 (1987) and Nez's solo album Loose Salute (1970) as "Conversations". It was written and produced by Mike, and Peter plays Banjo on the version on Missing Links!!

Most of Hope's Peak is pretty dirty and bloody, with the exception of one of the floors which is squeaky clean, and that's because Kirumi is there, but she's Infected and will dispose of anyone that enters because they're dirtying up the space.
Kirumi is just a giant mop monster, while this could be horrifying i choose to believe she's like a giant Bergamasco Sheepdog

Today’s breed is the Bergamasco Sheepdog. This dog is a member of the FCI’s Sheepdog and Cattle Dog group and has been since the 1950’s. They originate from the area of Bergamo, Italy, in the Italian alps. Bred to herd cows, every element of the breed standard works to help them thrive in their environment.
A medium sized dog, they average around 60cm at the withers and weigh around 35kg. Their fur is thick and curly and often forms matted locs over their backs to help protect them from bad weather.
The breed first appeared in the late 1800’s in Italy, although it has never been a particularly frequent breed. It nearly went extinct after World War 2, it was however rescued, mainly through the efforts of Italian scientist and breeder Dr. Maria Andreoli and her kennel, Dell’ Albera. She unfortunately passed in 2005, but thanks to her lifelong efforts, this breed continues to thrive all around the world.
I’m including a link to the international club of Bergamasco Sheepdogs, from where these photos as well as some of this information originate.
The copyright of all photos belongs to those who took them, with the exception of the drawing, which is my work. I share this information and photos in the interest of educating the public, I do not claim to own anything except my own artwork and I make no money off of this post. Thanks💜

I was on some clickbait article about countries where german shepherd dogs are banned, and it listed Ukraine. Of course this is not true, but after a few quick google searches to see what could have possibly been taken out of context.... apparently until 2021 there used to be over 80 dog breeds listed as "dangerous" (such dogs required insurance, being muzzled in public, etc) and uhhh the german shepherd is by far Not the weirdest dog on this list.

Bergamasco Sheepdog: Dog Breed Characteristics & Care
If you're looking for a unique and striking dog breed, the Bergamasco Sheepdog might just be the perfect match for you. With their distinctive matted coat and loyal, intelligent nature, Bergamascos are an excellent choice for experienced dog owners who are up for the challenge of caring for this rare breed. In this article, Meowk9 will explore the characteristics of the Bergamasco Sheepdog and offer tips on how to care for this unique and beloved breed. Breed Overview: - GROUP: Herding - HEIGHT:22 inches (female), 23.5 inches (male) - WEIGHT: 57 to 71 pounds (female), 70 to 84 pounds (male) - COAT: Long, corded - COAT COLOR: Black or gray, can have black patches - LIFE SPAN: 13 to 15 years - TEMPERAMENT: Intelligent, protective, companionable - HYPOALLERGENIC: Yes - ORIGIN: Italy
Characteristics of the Bergamasco Sheepdog
Appearance The Bergamasco Sheepdog is a large, muscular breed with a unique and unmistakable appearance. Their most distinctive feature is their thick, matted coat, which is made up of three types of hair: a fine, dense undercoat, a harsher outer coat, and long, woolly "flocks" that grow over time and form the characteristic mats. The mats protect the dog from the cold, wet weather of their native region in the Italian Alps, and give the breed a rugged, rustic appearance. In addition to their distinctive coat, Bergamascos have large, expressive eyes, a broad head, and a sturdy, well-proportioned body. They typically weigh between 70 and 84 pounds and stand between 22 and 24 inches tall at the shoulder. Temperament Bergamascos are loyal, intelligent dogs with a strong sense of loyalty to their families. They are protective of their loved ones and can be wary of strangers, making them excellent guard dogs. However, they are also affectionate and playful with their families and make excellent companions for those who can provide them with plenty of attention, exercise, and training. Health Like all dog breeds, Bergamascos are prone to certain health issues. These can include hip and elbow dysplasia, eye problems, and bloat, a potentially life-threatening condition in which the stomach fills with gas and twists on itself. It's important to work with a reputable breeder and to schedule regular checkups with a veterinarian to help ensure that your Bergamasco stays healthy and happy.
Caring for a Bergamasco Sheepdog
Grooming Caring for a Bergamasco's coat is a time-intensive process, but it's essential for keeping your dog healthy and comfortable. The mats must be separated by hand every few months to prevent them from becoming too heavy or compacted, which can cause discomfort and even health issues. To do this, you can use your fingers to gently pull apart the mats, being careful not to pull too hard or cut any of the hair. Bergamascos do not shed much, but their mats can trap dirt and debris, so it's important to bathe and brush them regularly to keep their coat clean and healthy. Exercise and Training Bergamascos are active dogs that require plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to stay healthy and happy. They are intelligent and eager to please, making them easy to train with positive reinforcement techniques. They also enjoy participating in dog sports like obedience, agility, and herding. Diet Like all dogs, Bergamascos require a balanced and nutritious diet to stay healthy. They are not picky eaters and can thrive on a high-quality commercial dog food or a homemade diet. It's important to work with your veterinarian to determine the appropriate amount and type of food to feed your Bergamasco based on their age, weight, and activity level.
Conclusion
The Bergamasco Sheepdog is a unique and beloved breed that is known for its distinctive matted coat and loyal, intelligent nature. Caring for a Bergamasco requires patience, dedication, and a willingness to take on the challenges of maintaining their coat, providing them with plenty of exercise and training, and ensuring that they receive a balanced and nutritious diet. If you are up for the challenge, the Bergamasco Sheepdog can be a wonderful and rewarding addition to your family.
