building better biculturals
“Khala-jaan!”
A girl totters over from the dance floor, dark curls frizzy and brown cheeks flushed from exertion. Her turquoise-blue gharara swishes around her ankles, and the clinking of her glass bangles can be heard over the thump of Bollywood wedding music.
“Have you tried the pulao yet? The buffet just opened but it’s already almost finished. Challo na, it’s lamb, it’s your favorite!”
Her khala - her maternal aunt - smiles from where she’s sitting at a round, clothed table. She gestures to her plate. It’s utterly loaded with pulao. The mountain of food is reminiscent of the Himalayas.
“Astaghfirullah, such indulgence,” the girl in the gharara giggles. “You’re causing the rest of the wedding guests to die from pulao deprivation. Save some for the rest of us, na?”
As the girl and her khala start to bicker, another woman emerges from the swarm on the dance floor. She’s fair-skinned, red-haired, and looking exquisitely uncomfortable in the yellow sari she’s wearing.
“Aisha, help me,” she whispers to the girl in the gharara. “They’re serving food, but I don’t know what any of it is. What should I eat?”
“Fear not, Steph,” Aisha responds, bangles clinking as she leads her white friend by the arm to the buffet table, “I am a connoisseur of South Asian cuisine. First order of business is to load up on pulao before my khala comes back for seconds.”
“Pulao?”
“It’s this rice dish with really fragrant spices, lamb stock, and lamb meat. You can eat it with raita, which is like a mint sauce. It’s such a comfort food,” Aisha smiles. “You’re going to love it.”
This brief snapshot from an Indian-American wedding might be a testament to the chokehold that pulao has over the South Asian community, but more importantly than that, it is a testament to a unique and valuable trait that Aisha possesses: the ability to effortlessly switch between cultures. She shows traditional South Asian deference to her khala, referring to her by an honorific and asking her if she’s eaten yet, and makes a split-second transition to guiding her American friend Steph through Indian cuisine, armed with intimate knowledge of what Americans are familiar with and what is foreign but palatable to them. Aisha is not alone; for a growing population of millions of Americans, living in two separate cultures is a part of daily life. More than ever before, Americans are growing up eating two different cuisines, speaking two different languages, practicing two different tradition and belief systems, and embracing their identities as bicultural Americans.
The benefits of being bicultural have been documented for decades. Bicultural individuals are often better at problem solving and creative thinking than monoculturals (Rasmussen), owing to their lifelong experiences with seeing multiple worldviews and
understanding a variety of perspectives. Just as importantly, biculturals can seamlessly integrate into either one of their cultures, greatly reducing miscommunications and faux pas in a world more steeped in global cooperation than ever before. Knowing how to modify the formality of one’s tone when speaking with Japanese contractors or quickly adapting to non-American styles of eating when out for brunch with Bengali coworkers fosters connection and trust instead of offense and confusion. A Mexican-American employee can better advise her company on how to market to their Mexican customers than someone completely divorced from Mexican culture. Bicultural thinking brings people together, innovates new solutions, and is one of the 21st century’s most vital soft skills. America would do well to understand, appreciate, and celebrate it.
The term “bicultural” encompasses a broad range of experiences and identities. It can refer to immigrants that have come to America and Westernized themselves while holding onto cultural aspects of their home country, like ethnic foods and moral values. It can refer to the children of those immigrants, who are simultaneously being exposed to their parents’ culture in the privacy of their home and to American culture at school. It can refer to multigenerational immigrants - the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of immigrants - who live in ethnic enclaves, separated from the soil of their homeland for generations but thoroughly wrapped up in its culture and community all the same.
Ethnic enclaves, in particular, have been important sites for bicultural development throughout American history. When waves of immigrants came to America during the Industrial era, pursuing work for a meager wage and the slim chance of making a life for themselves in the land of opportunity, they often settled together into poor neighborhoods denigrated as “ghettos” by middle-class white Americans. Within these neighborhoods, the freshly-arrived immigrants were able to find community among each other as they acclimated to life in a foreign country. These immigrants celebrated their culture’s holidays, opened up traditional restaurants and shops, and spoke their native language with each other; simultaneously, they worked at American jobs, participated in American traditions, and fought for their political rights. As these immigrant-dense neighborhoods sprawled and urbanized, they became known as ethnic enclaves like Chinatowns and Little Italies, defining the first big generations of American biculturals.
While governmental corruption and worker exploitation were common in many ethnic enclaves, their effect on turning biculturalism from hindering to advantageous is undeniable. Within a monocultural white American setting, a Chinese immigrant who speaks a different language and knows a different culture does not benefit from those differences, only feels alienated. But if that immigrant moves into an ethnic enclave, they find that they can get jobs at other Chinese immigrants’ businesses, adapt to American culture with the guidance of people who understand where they’re coming from, and build strong intracultural relationships that translate to economic efficiency and social capital (Espinoza-Kulick et al). That immigrant, once burdened and alone, now flourishes. The enclave’s economy booms. Human connections form. When immigrants and their children decide to move out of their enclaves in pursuit of the suburbs, as was common during the late 20th century, they leave with a strong sense of identity, having shown America the undeniable success of immigrant culture and the unshakable rise of immigrant power. Biculturals urbanized American cities, boosted the American economy, and are here to stay.
As the 20th century bled into the new millennium, ethnic enclaves declined in population and “ethnoburbs”, sprawling suburbs heavily populated with middle-class bicultural residents, grew explosively (Harvard Politics). But even as the geographic location of American biculturals shifted, the essential core of what it meant to be bicultural stayed the same. A bicultural, per the consensus definition of much sociological research, is an individual who is both proficient in the culture of their heritage and the culture of their current society, primarily characterized by speaking or consuming media in both the heritage language and the societal language and by having friends from both cultural backgrounds (Schwartz & Unger). Some researchers, such as Veronica Benet-Martinez, go further, defining biculturalism not only as the aforementioned but also necessitating the presence of unique habits, traditions, and mentalities that are neither fully from one culture nor fully from another, such as eating American breakfast with Indian chapati.
These definitions have been largely accepted as truth in academia, but in the opinion of many biculturals, language and socialization alone does not indicate cultural fluency. An Indian-American person who can speak Hindi and has other Indian friends might not be as in-tune with the morals, ethics, and perspectives of Indian people as another Indian-American who doesn’t know the language, has few Asian friends, but spends much time absorbing ethical lessons from their Indian relatives. There can also be different degrees of biculturalism, or different areas of expertise. One Chinese-American might know a lot about formal Chinese society while another might be more familiar with the poorer, street-vendor crowd. One person might act just like a native in their heritage culture, while another may feel uncomfortable but not quite as out-of-step as a monocultural would. As America grows increasingly multicultural, we are bound to see more individuals redefining what it means to “belong to” or “be fluent in” two cultures.
Just as biculturalism’s definition devolves into gray areas upon scrutiny, research has similarly shown that the advantages of being bicultural are more nuanced than previously imagined. Not all bicultural experiences are created equal. Some individuals experience more benefits, like problem-solving and creativity skills, than others do, and to what extent someone receives these bicultural benefits is a function of their relationship to their identity. In one study led by Benet-Martinez, Chinese-American individuals were classified into two groups, “confused biculturals” and “well-adjusted biculturals”, depending on whether they viewed their two cultures as irreconcilably clashing or cohesively integrated. They were shown pictures of either Chinese or American cultural symbols, like dragons and the Statue of Liberty, before being asked to interpret an ambiguous social interaction. Well-adjusted biculturals interpreted the interaction in an American way after seeing American imagery, and in a Chinese way after seeing Chinese imagery - in short, they appropriately modified their perspective based on the cultural context. Confused biculturals did the opposite, responding in Chinese ways to American imagery and vice-versa, effectively shifting into the incorrect mindset for the occasion. Another study found that Asian-American biculturals who were well-adjusted were able to solve problems in more unique ways than confused biculturals could (Mok).
This knowledge poses tantalizing follow-up questions: if we want America to benefit from biculturalism, how do we distinguish well-adjusted biculturals from confused ones? Is there a way to help confused biculturals become well-adjusted? What causes confused bicultural identity formation in the first place?
Fortunately, these questions have ready answers, contributed by none other than acclaimed American biculturals themselves. The anthology Waking Up American by Angela Jane Fountas is a treasure trove of bicultural authors describing their experiences growing up and coming to terms with their identity. Many of the stories in this anthology directly touch upon the mental shift from confused to well-adjusted biculturalism that many biculturals experience in their adolescence.
By far, one of the most unifying themes seen across this anthology is that society inextricably shapes identity. Maliha Mashood writes of feeling ashamed of her unique Pakistani clothing because her American classmates would tease her for it, causing her to change into American outfits at school to gain her peers’ validation. Maria Elena Fernandez describes always being thought of as overly American whenever she visited Mexico, spurring her to improve her Spanish accent and conceal her Americanness until she seemed like a monocultural, native Mexican. Margaret Gelbwasser details how her peers would call her a communist and a Russian spy whenever she wore her favorite red sweater until she had no choice but to get rid of it. In each scenario, society disliked one culture and rewarded another, causing these women to change their outward presentation until they no longer seemed bicultural to the public eye: Maliha and Margaret chased all-Americanness, Maria wanted nothing more than to be taken seriously as a Mexican. Until societies around the globe get rid of the notion that having a culture different from the dominant one is wrong, shameful, and in need of rectification, bicultural individuals can never flourish. How can someone be well-adjusted if they’re compelled to conceal half of their identity, for fear of ridicule or discrimination? If America wants to benefit from biculturals, it must readily embrace both halves of them.
Another observed contributing factor to the authors’ identity confusion is the refusal of their immigrant parents to integrate their two cultures together successfully. This can take the form of Lan Tran’s father, who was staunchly Vietnamese and rejected American culture, including his Americanized daughter, until she resented him and fought back against the Vietnamese influences in her life. On the opposite end of the spectrum, it can take the form of Rasma Haidri’s father, who was so deeply assimilated into American culture that he didn’t teach his daughters about Islam or speak to them in Urdu. It can even manifest as two wildly different parents, such as Emiene Shija Wright’s, one of whom wanted her to think of herself as Nigerian while the other wanted her to have African-American pride. The authors who seemed most comfortable with their biculturalism had parents who were well-adjusted biculturals themselves. A good chunk of raising a successful future generation of American biculturals will involve American immigrant parents finding peaceful equilibrium with their own identities first.
As for how confused biculturals become well-adjusted, the resounding answer given by Fountas’ anthology is community. Emiene Shija Wright joined her university’s African Student Union, met others like her, and made peace with her conflicting identities. Monica Villavicencio spent time in both Nicaraguan and Filipino spaces until she grew confident in her relationships to both cultures. Maliha Mashood met another West Asian girl, Nureen, who taught her how to embrace both sides of herself at once. America cannot expect biculturals to build themselves out of nothing. It owes them community, belonging, and support.
Changing societal perceptions about biculturalism, encouraging immigrant parents to learn about and make peace with their own identities, and providing spaces for multicultural community-building will separate the biculturals of tomorrow from the biculturals of today.
Adapting the definitions of culture, fluency, and advantage to better reflect contemporary society will separate the biculturals of tomorrow from the biculturals of today. Preserving ethnic enclaves and turning ethnoburbs into places for social progress and mutual support will separate the biculturals of tomorrow from the biculturals of today.
Today, we are shaken from discrimination, compelled to hide large swathes of our identity, and often feel excruciatingly lonely.
We owe it to our past selves and our future generations to build a tomorrow where society, community, and geography alike conspire to make the bicultural condition a beautiful one.
Aisha deserves to feel nothing short of world-changing in her turquoise gharara.

Why did the United States drop two nuclear bombs on the Japanese mainland? It appeared that Japan was ready to surrender. Around 90,000 Pakistan Eastern Command servicemen, including General Niazi and their Bengali supporters were taken as prisoners of war by the Indian Army. This was marked as the largest surrender since the Second World War. Independence of East Pakistan as Bangladesh was confirmed and it emerged as the seventh-most populous nation.

Summer and books
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/dec005eecb1b97ef528189f4a4bf6e86/912135f8c3932f71-0e/s640x960/9160a4aebd6670e75cb82fc2e4f390444e9dfea0.jpg)
Between the ages of 6 and 14, I spent every single summer holiday at my grandparents’ at 200 K/2.
There was much to look forward to: mangoes - lichus and taalshaash - my grandmother’s ghee pulao and mangsho, cricket with my grandfather (watching, not playing - I was a lazy fattie), and a holiday someplace new with my aunt and her gang of school teachers.
But, the highlight, the ABSOLUTE highlight was this:
Holidays were from April to June - roughly 8 weeks. About a week or 10 days into the trip, I would have met at least 90% of my relatives in the city. In those years, 200 K/2 was never empty; every week, someone or the other dropping in often taking more than one bus to get there. (I would like to flatter myself, of course, that they all came to see me - the probashi - but really they just came to see Dadun and Didun, to whom everyone seemed to be anchored no matter how far they lived.)
So, as I was saying, roughly 10 days in to the trip and I had met a whole bunch of mamis and mashis and didas and jethus and pishis and the like, who, as per tradition, discreetly handed me envelopes of varying thickness - with kichhu akta kine nish. (Side note: People stopped giving me ‘physical’ gifts long back. My mom spread this rumour I think that nothing pleases her, please give cash.)
So, 10 days into my holiday and the first Saturday after it seemed no more envelopes would come for a while, my aunt and I took the metro from Rabindra Sarovar to MG Road. Usually after an early lunch; me carrying an empty backpack and my aunt’s handbag holding all my envelopes. The night before we sat on her bed and counted everything, with me making rough (and usually incorrect) calculations in my mind, to anticipate what kind of backpack to carry.
From MG Road metro, you cross a wide chowrasta with intersecting and still -functioning tram routes. After about a 100 metres, you cross a cinema hall (Prabhat, if I am not mistaken) that seemed a century old at least, and then enter a street that sells only wedding cards, punctuated occasionally by bored members of wedding bands. Such bright costumes! But we’re usually walking at top speed at this point and I’m afraid much of the glorious detail has slipped by me.
After another 900 metres or so, we take a sharp right, and now we’re walking through lanes where rickshaws wouldn’t pass and the smell of paper will drive you crazy. Our first stop is Dey’s - a legendary Bengali publisher - but we had a family connection, because my grandmother’s family friend from Dhaka was now a prolific travelogue writer - Shonku Maharaj - and this particular shop on College Street would keep a copy of his newest book for my aunt. They would insist on no payment, she would insist on paying, the dance would go on for a while, and finally we would leave.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/de489cdd44c90431366e55475a20f135/912135f8c3932f71-1d/s540x810/a807c86023c99e29ca8e46383374d62874216523.jpg)
(Shonku Maharaj - or Lekhok Dadu - as I was taught to call him was one of those many visitors who would drop into 200 K/2 to chat once every week at least, if he was in the city. He called my Didun, Didi and Dadun, Madhu-babu, and had a loud, open laugh and was presumably full of stories, what with being a writer and all.) But because I didn’t read Bengali and generally looked down on history at that age, I didn’t much stick around for these.
And then, we were there. Indiana book stores I think - it was always that one shop, even though it was Boi Para, and had bookstores tempting you from every nook like juicy, fruit-bearing trees. She would set me loose there, quite literally, often wandering of to neighbouring stalls, or chatting with the store owner, requesting for specific course books.
The store gave us between 10-20% discount on my loot. Later on, in college, I discovered that almost all stores in College Street do this, but at that point I thought it was the reason we came to that specific store, just past the famous Mitra and Ghosh’s.
On an average, I bought 12-14 brand new and about 10 used books for a decent sum - the envelopes all empty now. Endorphins through the roof, my aunt and I would head to Coffee House, or an exclusive mughai paratha place before trudging back to the metro, each of us carrying roughly 6-8 kilos.
The deal, however, was that I could not read them all at once or even keep them. Once we were back, my grandparents would gather to see my collection for the year - and then on Sunday, my parents would patiently hear me out as I read off all the names. That was it. The last time I saw them all together. I was made to pick 2, two! just two out of 20! and the rest would be ‘hidden’ by my aunt.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5818d86890e729f9145cc22061880a6f/912135f8c3932f71-7d/s400x600/851fe0d1d829693fa851c0e70fd891493ebb2a9d.jpg)
There was of course a reason for this. My aunt’s school would only close for the summer mid-May. Till then I was left to my own devices at home with my grandparents, who loved me very much, but were also getting bored of my boredom. In earlier summers, I would finish reading all my new books manically in the first 10 days, often skipping sleep altogether, and then irritate the hell out of them for the rest of the weeks. Not anymore. My aunt had a plan.
So - 2 books, and then a new 2 every week that followed. Sometimes, on special request or if I had picked a thin book or a poetry book, I could get an additional one. But she was firm. And, boy, she really hid.
Obviously I finished the 2 books halfway through the week. And then I would spend the rest of the hot afternoon (till she got home from school) searching while my grandparents slept. Everywhere in that house I have scrounged to look for my books. I have stolen keys to look inside forbidden closets and lockers. I have gone to the storeroom that hasn't been used in 50 years.
The problem is even if I found them - and I did, once or twice - I didn’t know what to do. My aunt knew my ration, and a new cover would be suspect. So, even if I found them, all I could do was feverishly read a couple of pages and then stick them right back into hiding.
But, oh the drama, the PAIN, the plotting!
So many many summers passed like this. Same, but different each time. Different books, different hiding places. And, returning every time like she owned the place - a slightly different granddaughter, a slightly different niece.

A BLISSFUL EVENT TO BE REMEMBERED
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9b702de74bff65f2b39591285ba40583/7bd9cdfb73d20469-f0/s540x810/4860da35e9e05874790e3449a4714450fa2a2632.jpg)
BENGALI WEDDING IS FULL OF RITUALS AND FUN FESTIVITIES. IT IS A PERFECT MELANGE AND BALANCE OF TRADITION AND MODERNITY. IN BENGALI CULTURE, THERE ARE MANY EVENTS AND ACCORDING TO THE EVENTS THERE ARE MANY RITUALS AND CUSTOMS TO BE FOLLOWED ON. A WEDDING IS NOT ONLY AN EVENT; IT’S AN UNITY OF TWO SOULS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND OF COURSE A CHANCE OF A GET TOGETHER. THERE IS NOT ONLY WEDDING EVENT, BUT ALSO THERE ARE VARIOUS SOCIAL AND CORPORATE EVENTS. EVEN A FAMILIAR GET TOGETHER OR FRIENDS REUNION IS ALSO KNOWN AS EVENTS. HENCE, THERE ARE MANY EVENT PLANNERS WHO HAVE EXPERTISE THEMSELVES TO PLAN SUCH KIND OF EVENTS. NOWADAYS IN EVERYONE’S BUSY SCHEDULE IT’S VERY HARD TO GET TIME TO ARRANGE THESE KIND OF EVENTS. SO NOTHING TO WORRY AT ALL AS HERE ARE MANY SUCH PLANNERS WHO ARE MOST ELIGIBLE TO PROVIDE YOU STANDARD SERVICES IN AFFORDABLE PRICE AND WHO CAN GUIDE YOU THROUGHOUT YOUR EVENT THAT WHAT WOULD BE BEST FOR YOU AND WHAT NOT. THEY CAN UNDERSTAND THE NEEDS AND DESIRE OF YOUR CEREMONY AND ALSO CAN GIVE YOU THE ASSURANCE THAT YOUR EVENT WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF. BUT THE MAIN THING IS TO FIND AN APPROPRIATE TRUSTWORTHY PLANNER AMONG SO MANY AND THIS MUST BE A VERY HARD DECISION TO BE CHOSEN.
YEAH IT’S QUITE TOUGH TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT ONE AND THERE ARE SOME KEY POINTS WHILE CHOOSING A PARTY PLANNER FOR YOUR EVENTS. ACCORDING TO YOUR EVENT YOU NEED TO FIX A BUDGET AND THEN SEARCH FOR A PLANNER. THERE ARE LOTS OF WAYS TO FIND A PROPER ONE ACCORDING TO YOUR BUDGET. SO IT’S BETTER TO KEEP CHECKING REVIEWS ABOUT THE EVENT PLANNERS AND YOU CAN ALSO VISIT THEIR EVENTS AS WELL TO GET A BRIEF IDEA THAT HOW THEY HANDLE AN EVENT, WHERE YOU CAN CHECK THEIR DECORATION, CAN KEEP A KEEN EYE ON THEIR MANAGEMENT TEAM THAT HOW THEY ARE INTERACTING WITH THEIR CLIENTS. SO THIS WILL HELP EVERYONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO TAKE HELP FROM ANY PLANNERS TO PLAN AN EVENT.
SO HERE I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE A BRIEF INTRODUCTION ABOUT AN EVENT PLANNING FIRM, VERY CAPABLE, AND ELIGIBLE TO HANDLE ANY EVENTS. A VERY ENERGETIC TEAM COMPRISES OF YOUNG MEMBERS, QUITE TRUSTWORTHY, DEDICATED AND MANAGEABLE TO HANDLE ANY SITUATION. ASPARAGUS EVENT GROUP – A MOST PROMISING BRAND, STARTED BY AN ENTREPRENEUR, THE MASTER ONE WHO HAS CREATED HIS PATH SINCE 2008 AND FROM THAT HIS EXECUTION LEFT A CLASSIC TOUCH TO EVERY EVENT. FEW MONTHS AGO, I HAVE VISITED ONE OF THEIR EVENTS AS A GUEST CUM BLOGGER AND THEIR POLITE AND FRIENDLY BEHAVIOUR LEFT ME AMAZED. THEY ORGANIZED THE WEDDING WITH A PERSONAL TOUCH. THEY UNDERSTAND THE REQUIREMENTS AND CATER ACCORDING TO YOUR SPECIFIC NEEDS. YOU CAN SIT DOWN WITH THE TEAM AND PLAN THE MENU. I WROTE ABOUT MANY SUCH EVENTS BUT THIS IS FOR THE FIRST TIME I AM WRITING THIS FOR ANY SOCIAL EVENTS. I WAS VERY FOND OF HOW CAN ANYONE EASILY EXECUTE AN EVENT ACCORDING TO SOMEONE ELSE’S PREFERENCE AND BUDGET BECAUSE EVERYONE’S CHOICES AND DESIRES ARE DIFFERENT AND THE PLANNER HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT AND HERE I HAVE SEEN THE POTENTIAL IN THEM. I WAS THERE FROM THE MORNING AND FROM THE VERY STARTING THEIR EXECUTIVES WERE PRESENT AT THE VENUE, LOOKED AFTER THE ARRANGEMENTS AS PER THEIR COMMITMENT. SO THEY WERE ENGAGED THEMSELVES TO GIVE THE EVENT A MAGICAL TOUCH AND OF COURSE THIS PLANNING WAS EXECUTED AND GUIDED BY THE MASTER ONE BECAUSE WITHOUT HIM THIS WOULDN’T BE POSSIBLE. HIRING AN EVENT MANAGEMENT TEAM FOR YOUR EVENT IS NOT SO TOUGH BUT SOMETIMES IT SEEMS VERY TOUGH TO HAVE FAITH ON SOMEONE WHETHER THE PERSON WOULD BE CAPABLE TO YOUR EXPECTATIONS OR NOT. SO THESE GUYS WERE JUST PERFECT ON THEIR EACH AND EVERY PROJECT AND THEY WERE SO HUMBLE TO EVERYONE. SO THE ENTIRE EVENT WAS COVERED BY THEM AND NOBODY NEEDED TO STAND THE ENTIRE DAY ALL ALONG TO CHECK WHETHER ALL THE STUFFS WERE IN CORRECT POSITIONS OR NOT. BASICALLY THIS IS THE MOST BENEFICIAL FACTOR TO HIRE AN EVENT PLANNER.

LATER ON BY EVENING EVERYTHING WAS ARRANGED IN ORDER WITHOUT A GLITCH AND THE SET WAS READY FOR THE EVENT. THE DECORATION, REFRESHMENT AREA AND THE SITTING ARRANGEMENTS WERE PROPERLY MANAGED BY THEM. FOR THE EVENT THEY HIRED WELCOME HOSTESS, STANDING IN THE WELCOME GATE TO GREET THE GUESTS WITH A GENTLE SMILE.THE PEOPLE AT WORK WERE SUPER FRIENDLY AND ACCOMMODATING. WHEN PEOPLE ARRIVED TO THE RECEPTION THEY WERE IN AWE AS THE VENUE WAS BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED AND THEN WHEN THEY MOVED TO THE STARTER COUNTERS THEY WERE LEFT AMAZED AND THIS ONLY I CAME TO KNOW BY THEIR CAT-CHAT. ALL MARRIAGES ARE ALWAYS ASSOCIATED WITH MOUTH-WATERING FOODS AND I FOUND THE SAME DELICACY HERE TOO.THEIR ARRANGEMENTS AND THE FOODS WERE PRAISED BY EVERYONE. SO LET ME GIVE YOU A BRIEF ABOUT THEIR DELICACIES WHICH I HAD. IN STARTERS SECTION THERE WERE CHICKEN RESHMI KEBAB, FISH BARBEQUE AND PANEER TANDOORI ALONG WITH SOME MOCKTAILS LIKE AAM PANNA, GANDHORAJ LASSI, VIRGIN BLUE LAGOON AND CAFÉ LATTE IN HOT BEVERAGE SECTION. IN MAIN COURSE THERE WERE BABY BUTTER NAAN, MUTTON KEEMA REZALA, BHETKI PATURI (THE BEST ONE) ALONG WITH INTERNATIONAL SALAD BAR, FOLLOWED WITH MAHARANI PULAO, MUTTON KASA, GOLDEN FRIED PRAWN AND THE OTHER ACCOMPANIMENTS LIKE CHUTNEY, MASALA PAPADS, HOT GULAB JAMUN, RASMALAI AND FRIED ICE-CREAM, WHICH WAS A VERY INTERESTING PART IN DESSERT SECTION AND I WAS VERY CURIOUS TO HAVE THAT. AT THE END, TRADITIONAL BENGALI PAAN (BETEL LEAF) WAS OFFERED TO EVERY GUEST. THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, THE VENUE LOOKED STUNNING. THE STAFFS AND THEIR SERVICES WERE FANTASTIC AND INCREDIBLE. THE FOOD WAS INSANELY BEAUTIFUL TOO.

AS A GUEST, I ALSO HAVE COME TO KNOW THAT THEY HAVE PARTICIPATED IN MANY FOOD EXHIBITIONS AND GOT FAMED.SO AS PER MY CONCLUSIONS, THE TEAM MEMBERS WERE VERY DEDICATED AND EFFICIENT. SO IF ANYONE LOOKING FOR ANY EVENT PLANNER FOR YOUR FORTHCOMING EVENT THEN THIS TEAM WOULD BE THE BEST OPTION BECAUSE THEY ARE THE MOST BUDGET ORIENTED ONE IN KOLKATA WHO CAN GUIDE YOU ACCORDING TO YOUR EVENT. SO THIS TEAM WAS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ALL.
