When I'm not writing Danganronpa fan fiction, I moonlight as a professional content/copywriter. All the fresh discourse about plagiarism is reminding me of some formative experiences in my work life, and certain people I've met ...
My first job was with a fast-paced marketing company. The in-house writing team maintained weekly blogs for a bunch of clients, and each writer had to write two 1000-word blog posts a day. That's tough, especially for someone who was still pretty fresh in the field. We were salaried rather than hourly (!), so there was no incentive to staying late ... but that also meant the company didn't have to fret about overtime pay, so we could stay late if we needed it. I'd regularly be the last one in the office, still pumping out words in the struggle to meet deadlines.
Much of my time was spent on research. I knew little about the subjects at hand, which were sometimes highly technical, so I couldn't just BS my way through assignments. I even requested and received permission to take one client's worker education course, just so I could know what the heck I was writing about. It didn't seem at all remarkable to me. It was a job. My job. Although I could've been better, or at least faster, I simply did what needed to be done.
I learned that others took a ... different approach.
One supervisor was on sabbatical for the first couple of months I worked there. I respected them as my superior. Then I was assigned to peer-edit one of their articles, something we did with everything we wrote. One uncited claim led me to Google ... where I found a nearly identical article already published. Supervisor did the ol' switcheroo of amending sentence structures and swapping words for poorly chosen synonyms. I brought it up with them, saying I wouldn't report the incident but urged them to not do that. I can't recall what happened next, other than not trusting Supervisor anymore.
After three months passed, I was up for employee review. The bosses liked what they've read - yay! And then they said, "Here's why we're not giving you a raise." My stomach dropped. Apparently, they checked how many articles everyone wrote. I was behind on a quota I knew nothing about. If I wanted more money, I should take a page from the writer in the lead. Champ had somehow written 60 articles in the past month. Amazing! My employer set a goal much humbler than what my work friend had surpassed. If Champ could do that much, surely I could do this little.
Reader, I did my best. I stayed at the office later and later, especially as the date of my next employee review drew near. Due to my salaried status, I wasn't even paid for that overtime, but I put in the time anyway. It was all for nothing. Just a week before the next meeting, where they would've decided whether I deserved a raise or not, they laid off virtually the entire writing department. Apparently, underpaying freelancers who don't get benefits was easier.
Only one person from the crew stayed. If it was gonna be anybody, it was golden goose Champ, who maintained their insane pace. I wished them well.
Anyone wanna guess the secret behind Champ's prodigious output? It's the same reason they got fired just a few weeks later.
The reveal was a betrayal. We were friends, Champ and I, getting each other through the grind of the content mill with sarcastic humor and deep conversations. They encouraged and motivated me to keep up, all the while hiding some dirty tricks that eventually helped them stay in the race while I spun out. I was shocked to discover that I had zero empathy for them. But they deserved none, the filthy plagiarist. Haven't spoken to them since finding out.
This may not be as sordid as everything H. Bomberguy discusses in his brilliant new video. My coworkers and I were literally anonymous, with no clout to speak of, let alone abuse. Our clients were small businesses with little platform, which is why they contracted a marketing agency in the first place. Still, it hurt the hell out of me, and I wasn't even the one being copied! Plagiarism is a curse word in my household, lowest of the low (without getting into, like, actual atrocity).
And you know what? Years later, what I wrote for that company still holds up in my eyes. Those old blog posts aren't exactly the Great American Novel, or even on par with what I'd write as I gained more experience, but I put the effort into writing high-quality and original stuff. I worked hard. I still work hard. As self-deprecating and even self-loathing as I can be, I'll always pride myself on this. May you writers out there be able to pride yourselves on this, too.
#still sad about James Rolfe though. I know it seems he didn't do it himself but what the Cinemassacre case reveals is just plain sad#goshdang rambles#(new tag for non-DR-related posts like this)

Ahoy Steph 🙌, I was wondering if you could tell us a little bit about yourself and what kind of tropes and stories you enjoy? Wanna get to know a little more about who is behind the blog if you don't mind🤸
Hey Nonny!
Sorry for the delay in a reply... just haven't "felt it" the past couple months, and after a nice 2 week break (and now a slow day at work), I feel more up to answering a long-form ask today, LOL.
So, I won't reveal too much about myself that isn't already public, since I try to keep my online and personal lives separate (and I come from an age where people usually DID do this because no one needs to know every little bit about you). The basics are that I'm a 41-year-old Canadian dork who loves video games, animation, movies, drawing, writing, and making music. I'm a graphic designer by trade, and have been for nearly 20 years, and I love it (if you need something designed or laid out, hit me up, I freelance on the side for extra spending money). I love dragons and puppies and kitties. I've been in fandom spaces for as long as I can remember, even before the internet. First major fandom I was a part of was Sonic the Hedgehog in my teen years, used to be a pretty popular writer back then. I moved on to Darkwing Duck in my 20s, then TMNT and then Sherlock (I'm a fan of a TONNE more things, but these were the active fanbases I had a presence in). These days I'm more of a lurker than actively participating, though Sherlock has been the longest one I haven't really moved on from. I like the casualness of what I've built here, and I think that's been a huge benefit for my mental health.
Hmm... my fave food is mac and cheese, but had to cut back on it a lot, so these days it's mostly chicken, lol. Fave dessert is cheesecake. Again, not supposed to eat it because of the dairy and sugar, so if I make it, I use lactose-free cheese. I treat myself once-a-year on my birthday, usually.
My current dream is to own a home. I've been trying to make it happen for almost 10 years now, and every time I get close, the goal-post gets shifted as housing prices skyrocket. It makes me very sad.
My dream holiday is a Disney cruise OR somewhere tropical; wanted to do these since I was 20. Secondary dream WAS going back to Disney World for my 40th, but now it's for my 45th or 50th, hopefully with SOMEONE (no one wants to go with me, hence the back-burner on this one). Listen, I know how awful Disney is. I just... really loved being there. It's easy to forget a lot of things when you're there. Third dream is a cross-country LITERAL nostalgia road trip with my sister. We used to go on 2-week-long, cross-Canada road trips when we were kids, and I just... want to kind of relive those, y'know? Lots of fond memories. Again, something that's just a dream because while my sister wants to do it, she doesn't want to be an alternate driver, so. Yeah, I can't do the driving alone.
Uh... Hmm. Not sure what else I should talk about here, if there's something specific y'all want to know, just ask :)
As for fave tropes, I love fake relationship fics the most, I think, followed by pining and movie rewrites with characters... I'm actually pretty easy-going when it comes to tropes, really. Willing to read any trope at least once to see if I like it.
Oddly, though, I prefer stories that are SUPER in-character (to how I read them, anyway) AND focus a lot on character studies and relationships with other characters. Novel-length stories are usually the best for it, but shorter ones can be too. I prefer fanfics more these days because I don't have to think about how these characters SHOULD be and focus more on the world that the author created. When I do read published novels, though, they're usually fantasy books. One of my fave series ever is the Inkheart Trilogy. Just an easy read from book one.
Yeah, so that's a little bit about me, to start off 2023 AND for any newbies that have just recently found me.
Thanks again for your curiosity :) Again, if you have anything you want more elaboration on, I can at my discretion.

10 years a LEFTY
After my stroke at the end of 2012, my focus for most of 2013 was on learning how to walk & talk again, and navigating the bureaucracy of disability benefits. By September, I was still very much a mess, but finally wrestled with an issue that had weighed heavily on me the entire time - whether I’d ever draw again.
Sketching in Golden Gate Park.
Janine Dawson had sent me a sketchbook while I was still in hospital, complete with pre-dated pages. I could not keep to her schedule though. Partly because I had so much physical therapy and became exhausted easily. Also, I was deeply afraid. My clumsy attempts to draw with either hand caused despair. So I focussed instead on the many other things I needed to do. There’d been hope that sensation & motor coordination might return to my right drawing hand eventually, but 9 months later it was still asleep (and in most respects, still is). I finally accepted that my trusty right hand was kaput, and wouldn't draw again. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but only after that acceptance could I train the understudy to go on stage - My LEFT HAND.
A self-caricature in my wheelchair, 2013.
I drew for its own sake, with absolutely no expectation of ever drawing professionally again. That filled me with sadness, but the idea that I might not draw at all was worse. Drawing was always part of my self-identity. So, Julia & I often drew together. I was painfully slow, but started to enjoy the random quality of my drawings done with my non-dominant hand. Never exactly sure what my LEFT hand would do, I drew in a spirit of exploration, like when I was a child. (I now believe that this open lack of expectations actually set me free). My mobility was even worse than it is now and we often drew paused images from TV, but went location sketching too, starting at the college campus near our apartment.
Sketches of SF State campus, 2013.
Julia had bought me two beautiful leather bound sketchbooks for Christmas 2012 (and I had a stroke the very next day). 2014 was when my drawing had progressed enough to start filling one of them with sketches. I went out sketching with her, or sketchmaster Matt Jones. Unsure of how to earn a living, I often considered what other job I might do.. Be a writer? A teacher? Kevin Richardson helped me explore script writing. Steve Purcell & Derek Thompson called me for a few weeks of story brainstorming. It is hard to overstate how much those first short gigs meant to me. I began to feel useful again. In the first year of my stroke many friends (from many studios) had arranged fundraisers to help with my medical bills, but I was too frail to attend. In 2014, Ben Walker arranged “Bizarro Sketch Night”, where artist friends bid on each other's art, drawn with their non-dominant hands. A fun event that I was able to participate in myself. I'll never forget all these encouragements from my community.
"Bizarro Sketch Night", 2014.
John Hoffman gave me a sketchbook, and in 2015 it was where I began to sketch out a graphic novel. The plan is to incorporate old pages done with my RIGHT hand and new pages done with my LEFT, and for them to be compatible (this art-therapy project continues to this day). Julia encouraged me to start colouring my blog stories digitally (and for Christmas that year, she bought me a new cintiq!) Using Photoshop with one hand was tricky, but the workarounds I learned came in handy when I got my first ever LEFT-handed paid drawing assignment, a cover for Carol Hughes’ book!
2015 projects.
2016 had so many work opportunities that I was taken off disability. My financial safety net was gone, but it was exciting to take the plunge into freelancing as a LEFT handed artist. Again, friends gave me encouragement & chances. Steve Lee got me a brief teaching assignment (at the Academy Of Art). Then Jim Capobianco asked me to storyboard on "MARY POPPINS RETURNS". This was very exciting development for me. It was a long gig, subletting a room in one of the satellite buildings of PIXAR's Emeryville campus, where old colleagues were watching my progress..
"Mary Poppins Returns", 2016.
In 2017, I did LEFTY storyboards for Brad Rau at GHOSTBOT. Soon after,Jonas Rivera suggested I try out storyboarding on a PIXAR project, which became Pete Docter’s "SOUL", and after a few months, that became a staff position. It was wonderful to be working again with my old roomie Rej Bourdages, who’d always supported me in my darkest hours. Keeping up with all the other inspiring drawing geniuses in Emeryville is intimidating for a one-armed old duffer, but is a great way to improve. In 2018 & 2019 my drawing dexterity & speed increased (and with this steady job, I finally paid off my mountain of medical debt). The 2020-2022 pandemic years were ironically a boon. Working from home gave me extra hours (previously sucked-up by my commute) to do more spare time personal projects, where I pushed my LEFTY drawing skills even further.
"SOUL"
"the INVENTOR"
"ELiO"
Animated films worked on since 2017.
It’s been a decade since I began drawing with my non-dominant hand. Every day is still a struggle, but I'm so grateful to be where I am now. On this day in 2013, I had absolutely no hope that I'd ever become a full-time professional cartoonist again. That I actually got here is due to many colleagues, friends & loved ones not only encouraging me to draw, but giving me real professional opportunities to do so.
All throughout this topsy turvy journey, at every low & highpoint, Julia has never lost faith in me. Even though I became a feeble old man overnight, she stayed with me. She understands how important drawing is to me (as it is to her too) and she has always offered encouragement. She has gone out drawing with me. Challenged me, and pushed me to new levels. Her artistry is a constant inspiration. I'm extremely lucky to have her by my side.
I'm profoundly grateful to all of you, who've supported me in so many ways over the past 10 years. You've given me great joy.
Thank you!

FREE* PROOFREADING!!
I'm a new-to-the-industry proofreader looking for samples to add to a portfolio for prospective clients. For this reason, I'm inviting work from writers who would benefit from free proofreading, with the following guidelines:
No smut - it's okay if there's a little spicy bit here and there, because I can edit it out to make it work for a professional context, but if the work is just straight up erotica, I can't use it. Not kinkshaming, it just isn't suitable for my purpose right now. This may change in the future because proofreading/editing for steamy romance is absolutely a thing, it's just not what I'm aiming for at this moment.
Intended for (or already) public publishing - I would like to be able to reference back to, for instance, the piece published on AO3 or someone's blog or in print. Sample pieces have more impact if they are demonstrably from a real writer and not just something I cooked up with chatgpt to make myself look good.
I may wish to "sanitize" overt fandom content - this is something I might do for a fandom that (sigh) doesn't strike people as professional (like some kind of extremely horny anime). This would be a step I would take only for my version of the document, and I would only do this with the permission of the writer. I know it doesn't feel good to have your work scrubbed of its context, but this would only be for the version shown in my portfolio. You will receive my proofreading services (a tracked edit or annotated document, your choice, with fandom content intact) just like everyone else, it's just for the version displayed in my portfolio I might (with your permission!) like to change character and place names to make it generic.
At least 1000 words - I am happy to do longer pieces up to 10k, though I would be choosing specific pages or excerpts for my portfolio. I'm flexible on this, honestly. I could go through a website to catch spelling and grammar problems on, for instance, a series of blog posts. I'd just like a given project to be worth the effort and yield something for my portfolio.
In English - I can wholeheartedly offer my services in US English! I can do my best with UK/AUS/NZ etc English, but I'm hesitant due to, y'know, wanting to make myself look good in my own portfolio. I'm not good enough in any other language to offer proofreading. Sorry!
Willing to be identified by at least your pen name - again, what makes these samples helpful for me is that I can demonstrate that they were real things published by real authors, even if just a username or pseudonym. All works must attributed to someone.
My upwork profile, which is where my portfolio will be housed, is here: https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~0110e1c5d1d446b2c8
This is a free service. You don't need to pay me or hire me on my Upwork profile, I'm just linking it for transparency about where your work will be displayed. If you'd like to tip, I can provide payment details when we talk.
If you'd like to get started, you can contact me here through DM or on discord as roziepamozie. Thank you for considering my services!

It's essential to understand your audience, select relevant products, and create engaging content that encourages conversions. With dedication and the right approach, affiliate marketing can be a rewarding online income source.
#7. Online Marketplaces:
Online marketplaces offer an accessible route to earning money without initial investment. Platforms like Etsy, eBay, and Amazon enable users to sell products, crafts, and items they no longer need.
Though there might be listing or selling fees, these are generally minimal. Creating compelling listings and providing excellent customer service are key to success. These marketplaces provide exposure to a vast online audience, allowing sellers to turn their hobbies and creations into a source of income.
It's important to research the platform's policies, optimize your listings, and maintain professionalism to maximize your earnings and reputation within the online marketplace community.
#8. Online Writing & Content Creation:
Online writing and content creation platforms offer a gateway to earn money while sharing expertise and insights. Websites like Medium, HubPages, and Vocal provide opportunities to publish articles on various topics.
Depending on the platform, you can earn through ad revenue, reader engagement, or upfront payments. This approach doesn't require an initial investment and allows aspiring writers to showcase their talents, grow their audience, and generate income through their written content.
Consistency, quality, and understanding your target audience are crucial for building a successful online writing venture. With dedication, your writing journey can lead to both personal satisfaction and financial rewards.
#9. Microtasks:
Engaging in microtasks on platforms like Amazon Mechanical Turk and Clickworker can be a way to earn small amounts of money online without any upfront investment.
These tasks may include data entry, image categorization, transcription, and more. While the pay for each task is usually low, they offer a flexible option to earn extra income in your spare time. It's important to approach microtasking with efficiency and attention to detail to maximize your earnings.
While it might not provide substantial income, microtasking can be a convenient and accessible way to supplement your finances with minimal commitment.
#10. Gig Economy Platforms:
Gig economy platforms like TaskRabbit provide a practical way to earn money online without upfront investment. Offering services such as errand running, household chores, or personal assistance to local clients can be both fulfilling and profitable.
By listing your services and rates on platforms like TaskRabbit, you tap into a network of people seeking help with various tasks. Building a positive reputation through quality service can lead to repeat clients and referrals, creating a steady income stream.
This avenue offers the flexibility to choose the tasks you're comfortable with and the convenience of remote or local work, making it an attractive option for those looking to earn money online without a significant commitment.
#11 Online Transcription:
Online transcription is a viable way to earn money without an initial investment. If you're adept at typing and attentive to detail, platforms like TranscribeMe and Rev offer opportunities to transcribe audio and video content.
Your earnings can vary based on the complexity and volume of tasks you complete. This method suits individuals who have good listening skills and are comfortable transcribing various types of content, from interviews to podcasts, all from the comfort of your home.
#12 Virtual Assistance:
Becoming a virtual assistant presents a flexible online earning avenue. Businesses and entrepreneurs seek assistance with tasks like email management, scheduling, and social media.

For aspiring writers and seasoned professionals alike, contributing to fashion blogs is an incredible way to enhance your career. And if you’re interested in this path, our "write for us fashion" program can be a perfect platform for growth and visibility.
In this article, we'll explore the benefits of writing for fashion blogs, how it can help you build credibility and grow your network, and why you should consider jumping in with both feet.
Why Write for Us in Fashion?
The “write for us fashion” niche is a dynamic one, attracting writers, influencers, stylists, and fashion experts from all over the world. Contributing to fashion blogs enables you to connect with a global audience that’s passionate about the latest trends, ethical fashion choices, seasonal styles, and more. But beyond merely having a platform to share your thoughts, writing for us provides a career boost in multiple ways.
Whether you’re aiming to establish yourself as an authority, expand your portfolio, or gain more writing experience, contributing to fashion blogs can be a stepping stone to bigger opportunities. Let’s break down how it can benefit your career.
1. Build Your Portfolio with High-Quality Content
A well-rounded portfolio is essential for anyone aiming to make a name in fashion writing. When you participate in "write for us fashion" initiatives, you’re given the opportunity to create and showcase high-quality content in a real-world setting. Many prospective employers and clients value candidates with a demonstrated history of published work, so each blog post adds to your credibility.
Publishing on respected fashion blogs, or even smaller but popular niche blogs, shows that you can create content that appeals to audiences and adheres to the editorial standards of established sites. When you’re ready to seek out new writing jobs, freelance opportunities, or in-house fashion writing roles, a robust portfolio can be your ticket to standing out.
2. Establish Yourself as a Fashion Authority
For those looking to gain recognition, a “write for us fashion” role is the perfect way to build authority. Writing about fashion trends, industry insights, and expert opinions positions you as someone knowledgeable in the field. Over time, readers, editors, and other industry professionals will come to recognize you as an authority on the topics you cover.
Imagine contributing articles on sustainable fashion or emerging runway trends and becoming a go-to source for readers interested in those areas. This level of credibility can open doors for collaborations, interviews, and even invitations to exclusive industry events.
3. Expand Your Professional Network
Contributing to a “write for us fashion” platform also allows you to connect with other writers, influencers, and professionals in the fashion industry. Networking is invaluable in fashion; who you know can sometimes make all the difference. When you write for fashion blogs, you’re not only building an audience but also connecting with editors, other contributors, and readers who share your passion.
Additionally, many fashion blogs have social media channels where your content may be shared, amplifying your reach. Engaging with followers, editors, and other writers on social media can help you build lasting professional relationships that could lead to collaborations, job offers, or mentorship opportunities.
4. Improve Your Writing Skills in a Real-World Setting
While writing practice is essential, there’s no substitute for creating content that reaches a real audience. Participating in “write for us fashion” programs pushes you to refine your skills, learn industry standards, and write on topics that engage readers. Working with an editor also provides valuable feedback, helping you to hone your style, improve structure, and produce polished, professional-level work.
Fashion writing requires more than just knowledge of trends; it involves storytelling, accuracy, and a keen understanding of the audience. With each blog post, you’ll get better at crafting narratives that are informative, compelling, and suited to the platform's voice and goals.
5. Gain Valuable Exposure in the Fashion Community
Visibility is key in the fashion industry. Writing for established fashion blogs means your work is reaching an audience of fashion enthusiasts, potential employers, and collaborators. Exposure from a “write for us fashion” program can increase your online presence and establish you as a recognizable name among readers.
When readers engage with your content—whether through comments, shares, or follows—they’re actively contributing to your reputation and reach. As you gain a following, you’ll see increased traffic to your own blog, social media profiles, or portfolio, all of which can lead to further opportunities down the line.
6. Create Opportunities for Freelance and Full-Time Work
Whether you’re interested in freelance writing or a full-time position in fashion media, contributing to a fashion blog is an effective way to get noticed. Many fashion editors, recruiters, and agencies regularly scout popular blogs for fresh voices and emerging talent. A “write for us fashion” position can be your first step toward being hired for freelance assignments, brand collaborations, or even full-time jobs within the fashion industry.
Many successful fashion writers and editors began as contributors or guest bloggers, leveraging their published work to land bigger opportunities. Writing for established fashion blogs increases the chances of being discovered and invited for more lucrative writing gigs or editorial roles.
7. Refine Your Personal Brand and Niche
One unique advantage of writing for fashion blogs is the opportunity to explore and refine your personal brand. Some writers excel in street style, others in high-end fashion, while others focus on sustainable fashion or cultural fashion commentary. Through a “write for us fashion” initiative, you can discover your niche and start building your personal brand around it.
Developing a specific area of expertise helps you attract readers who are passionate about the same topics, while also positioning you as an expert in that niche. This focused branding can lead to higher engagement and more opportunities that align with your interests and values.

This guide will show you how to create content that stands out, covering everything from topic selection to impactful writing strategies. Embrace the chance to make a meaningful impact in the insurance niche with engaging, informative articles that readers will love.
What is “Insurance Write for Us”?
Before we dive deep, let’s clarify what “insurance write for us” actually means. This term typically appears on websites that invite freelance writers or industry experts to contribute blog posts, articles, or guest content. It’s a call for knowledgeable voices to share their insights on various insurance topics.
Why Are Guest Posts Important in Insurance?
In the insurance world, guest posts offer a way to:
Share unique perspectives on complex topics
Build credibility and trust with readers
Connect with a broader audience and extend your influence
Create a helpful resource for those seeking answers to insurance questions
Why Should You Write for an Insurance Website?
So, what’s in it for you? Writing for an insurance website can open doors you hadn’t even considered!
Build Authority: Contributing to an established website allows you to establish yourself as an expert.
Network Expansion: Writing for industry blogs connects you to a professional network.
Audience Reach: Your work reaches a broader audience, allowing you to showcase your expertise.
Content Portfolio: Each post serves as a sample of your writing, helping you secure more gigs or projects.
Picking the Right Topics
When pitching ideas, remember: the topic matters! Selecting a subject that both captivates the audience and reflects the website’s tone is crucial. You want something that resonates, so think along these lines:
Trending insurance issues, like the rise in telehealth coverage or new insurance technology
Common policy misunderstandings, like deductible vs. premium
Essential tips for first-time buyers
Real-life insurance success stories
A well-chosen topic is your first step to making a strong impression!
Crafting Content That Stands Out
You’ve got your topic – now, how do you make it shine? Here are a few pointers to keep your article lively and engaging:
Keep it conversational: Speak directly to the reader, use contractions, and let your personality show.
Provide value: Make sure your content genuinely helps readers understand something about insurance.
Structure well: Use headings, bullet points, and numbered lists to break down complex ideas.
Be informative: Even if you’re writing informally, accurate information is key.
What Types of Insurance Topics are Popular?
For the most impact, tailor your post to address specific insurance types. Some of the most popular topics include:
Health Insurance: Cover trends in health coverage, telemedicine, and mental health benefits.
Auto Insurance: Dive into policy add-ons, cost-saving tips, or state-specific requirements.
Life Insurance: Discuss policy types, benefits, and tips for selecting the right plan.
Home Insurance: Offer advice on bundling, types of home insurance, and coverage for disasters.
Each of these areas has unique challenges and questions. If you can address these directly, your content will resonate strongly with readers.
Writing for Different Audiences
Not all readers are insurance experts, so tailor your content accordingly. Here are a few different audience types you may want to keep in mind:
Casual Readers
These readers are curious but not super knowledgeable. Stick to simple language, use examples, and clarify any jargon. For instance, instead of “deductible,” explain it as “the amount you pay before your coverage kicks in.”
Industry Experts
For professionals in the field, don’t be afraid to use technical language and include data-driven insights. This audience values depth and precision, so be as thorough as possible.
Essential Tips for Formatting and Submitting Your Article
Once you’ve drafted your masterpiece, ensure it’s polished and ready for submission. Here’s a quick checklist:
Follow Formatting Guidelines: Most sites have specific guidelines on structure, font, and length.
Include Relevant Sources: If you reference stats or studies, link to reputable sources.
Avoid Self-Promotion: Websites want unbiased, informative content, not an ad for your business.
Proofread: A typo here or there might seem minor, but it can detract from your credibility.
How to Pitch Your Idea
It’s pitch time! Crafting an attention-grabbing pitch is crucial, so keep these tips in mind:
Personalize It: Address the editor by name if you can find it, and mention specific articles on their site that you admire.
Present a Unique Idea: Let them know why your topic stands out and how it aligns with their site.
Be Concise: Editors are busy, so keep your email short and to the point.
Link to Samples: If you’ve written similar pieces, include links to showcase your work.
Conclusion
So, there you have it! Whether you're a seasoned insurance expert or just looking to share insights, “insurance write for us” is your golden ticket. With the right topic, style, and pitch, you can connect with a whole new audience, expand your reach, and build a reputation in the industry.
