ok typically what i do is i wear Not Home clothes when i'm out of the house and Home clothes when i'm in the house which also double as Asleep clothes but apparently nobody else on earth does this and that's super weird. please help me gather data points/settle an argument
not to panhandle for reblogs but this poll won't work unless someone reblogs it 馃ズ馃ズ馃ズ
#I have a figure that looks unkempt if I don't wear a bra#so while I have engineered my closet to be All Comfy just varying levels of formality#and hence can wear my out of home clothes very comfily around the house hooray#I do put on different/more undergarments when I leave the house such as a bra as well as selecting the out of home shoes#but I'm sitting in a sundress rn right after waking because it's as comfy as pajamas

I bet you project mental thanks to some lovely aspect of nature you encounter outdoors now and then. Do me a favor. Project a little of that awe for lovely nature at your own body, your mind, the miraculous bits of nature that allow you to be here and reading this. I am very thankful that you are here.

Movies about drag queens in the 90s don't mean we've "regressed" exactly. The world has gotten more openly hostile to queer people, but that's only because we've made being queer something that basically every single person everywhere has to deal with in their life now, or at least be prepared for the very real possibility of having to deal with it. Reactionaries literally conceptualize it as an epidemic. But that also means there is way, way more allies actively supporting us and working to protect us, as well as the fact that we've taken "we're here, we're queer" to the next level and begun to mobilize en masse at a rate that could scarcely be imagined before.
Children have unparalleled levels of freedom to discover their true selves - not that it's easy, but it's a hell of a lot easier than it used to be. There's a massive generation of queer children growing up right this second that has no idea what it's like to live in a world where people like them were anything but occasional punchlines who more often than not met in total secrecy. People who are in their eighties, who never could have dreamed of this remaking of Western culture, are coming out and finally living their best lives.
We've made a lot of progress. We just have to keep fighting.

it's always right as the heat waves really kick in around here and the effect is so oppressive, even though the weather on the ship is alternating clear (which is the most oppressive weather at sea) and weirdfoggy
I love the building of suspense in the Demeter entries. How we start off with such short mundane blips and each entry becomes more detailed and intense.
There is something on the ship. The crew is irritable. One of the crew is missing. Olgaren sees a strange man aboard, but he disappears. There is nothing to find. There is nowhere to hide. But something is off.
It鈥檚 such a chilling way to present the haunting effect Dracula has, and it gets me every year

imo there's been a general drift to tighter stitches in patternmaking especially in knitting and I weep for the effect on people's hands thinking their gauge is normal :/ You should be wiggling your fingers to get your stitches in regular knit and purl, such as stockinette or garter, and how you achieve a little friction is up to you but frankly if you need a piece of jewelry, YES EVEN WITH EDS, you are doing it too tight (exception being certain kinds of decreases, but you can work around them with substitutions). Hold it gently. Let it be loose. Fuck their gauge expectations. DM me if you need help with math, I'm always happy to work out an armscye with a stranger <3
question for people who do multiple fiber crafts. I'm very curious, do your tensioning problems differ between crafts, or do you have similar problems in each. for example for me, my tensioning is usually too tight no matter the craft that I'm working on. curious if it the same for others

In a society where all LGBTQ+ content is considered sex work, this is especially ridiculous. Also, all sex-related content, even clothed content with no direct reference to sex, such as sex ed or safety videos on how to safely use a sex product like rope, falls under the blanket refusal of credit card processors to deal with lawful non-pornographic non-sex-work-but-sex-related income. I worked for a rope company that hand processed card orders every day, requiring 20 person-hours a week (and I'm sure more now as it was a while ago) selling nothing but rope (processed and softened for comfort and safety for recreational use, but effectively available at any hardware store if you don't mind chafing) and non-pornographic advice on how to safely use that rope recreationally, also available at any book seller such as Amazon. Amazon has lawyers and a huge market share to help them advocate for their right to access card processing. The rest of us do not.
and none of that should matter. It should be okay to sell sex for your job. These distinctions should not be made on that basis. I'm just pointing out how arbitrary and stringent the rules are for anyone with less-than-Amazon levels of clout and legal resource.
Great and now there's this. Theres truly no room for an ounce of complacency this is a direct attack on queer creatives.

Here's a link to the whole thread for more context

I understand the urge to be with your partner, but that partner has disregarded your basic physical safety to stay behind knowing that you would stay with them. Let them feed themselves for a few days and hopefully it blows over, or maybe save your own life so they have someone to bury them.

i have the other side of this where a group of people muttering to each other sound like a beehive and also bearing friction in fans sounds like crickets, and so i can hear when fans are needing replacement earlier than others are aware of them :D
I'm trying to sleep and the bugs outside are buzzing at a certain cluster of wavelengths that reads to my brain as a human voice and whenever I let my focus shift it jumps to trying to hear what the gnat king has to say

ChatGPT is good at things like writing extremely simple javascript. ChatGPT is quite bat at other things, like having sensible conversations, which is why it's so alarming to see how it's been bent to that purpose. It's also not good at comprehending things in general, such as holistically understanding the stresses within a building, intuitively ballparking a reasonable next-higher dose of morphine and realizing the doctor wrote the dose too high and double checking before administering it, or having insight into someone's suffering when they're extremely unwell, or deciding which statistical test is best for a within-sample analysis on an unusually designed epidemiological study... so just don't ask it to do that stuff. Only repeatedly doing those problems, and getting it wrong under the guidance of experts, paired with the comprehension they lend to it and you, will you become able to reliably do them yourself. This is "the work" people are referring to when they say, you have to do the work. There is no shortcut to full comprehension.
