Buying a Plate Bending Machine? Gain the Himalaya Advantage
When it comes to workshop machines, one of the versatile machines is a Plate Bending (Rolling) machine. It can do various jobs over and above circular shells when used suitably. Its ability to bend any workpiece is important in many industries. Most of the customers use a Bending / Rolling machine to make Circular bending jobs, Conical bending, and various other jobs. Compared to other machine tools, it exhibits quite an extended working life.
How do Rolling/Bending Machines Work?
Permanently changing the workpiece into a certain shape is called bending. Steel is elastic under normal circumstances. It means that it is subjected to deformity under load, but upon removal of load, it regains the original shape. However, this is true only up to a certain extent of deformation. Beyond a certain level, the material cannot regain its original shape. However, after the load is removed, it does spring back a little.
The plate is deformed (bent) due to the roll’s force (see below figures) –
The deformation should be sufficient to develop stress in the plate material higher than the plate’s yield point. In simple words, it can be said that yield point is the stress at which a material bends or elongates, while Ultimate Tensile Strength is the stress at which the material breaks into two pieces.
Suppose the rolls are now given a rotary motion. In that case, a continuous bending process results, which is called Rolling (refer below figure) –
It can be seen that a certain end portion of the plate has not passed under the top roll and remains almost straight, and to reduce that pre-pinching feature is provided.
With the rotation movement and position change of work rolls with different shapes, the plate bending machine is capable of processing oval, arc, and cylindrical parts. Upon the proper adjustment of the relative distance between the lower and upper rollers, users can bend the plate to any value. However, it must be remembered that the lower roller’s radius must not be less than the radius of the upper roller.
The bending roll process is a deformation operation, which can make the plate have a certain curvature. It has the function of rolling O-shaped, U-shaped and multi-stage R-shaped plates. With a Plate rolling, you can manufacture a wide range of different products. Typically, all steel or metal forming for cylindrical lines use bending rollers for rolling.
How to Use a Bending Machine?
Step-1: From the wall-mounted isolator switch, you have to switch on the main supply to the machine. After this, you will see a ‘power on’ indicator light up. If the phase sequence is not ‘OK,’ or in case of any fault with the incoming power supply, such as phase failure, under voltage and overvoltage, or unbalanced voltage, the single phasing preventer will not allow the ‘control on’ indication on the operating console. However, the ‘control on’ indication will automatically light up when the incoming power supply is okay.
Step-2: Switch on the Hydraulic Pump Motor and allow it to run idle for a minute or so.
Step-3: Amidst the idle run of the Hydraulic Pump Motor run, monitor the direction of rotation of the main pump motor and run the cooling fan motor of the oil cooler. They must be in the direction of the arrow indicated on it.
Step-4: You can now try other operations like UP, DOWN, REVERSE & FORWARD etc., at no load.
This idle run spreads the lubricants on the working gear trains and bearing journals. Then, if everything appears fine, you can begin the bending work.
Now that you have a better understanding of the functioning of bending machines, it is recommended that you take a closer look at which options your needs are met. Always look into factors like bending force, length, table height and breadth. Considering these factors will help you determine the efficiency of the machine. To solve your woes, Himalaya Machinery is here with its powerful range of machines. Let us see some of the basic features of the machines.
Features of Himalaya Bending Machine
Sturdy Steel Structure
Himalaya machines exhibit a strong steel structure made up of heavy metal plates. A strong box design chassis connects the frames. The frames have interlocks and strengthening ribs. The roll guideways are machined together utilizing a fixed single reference point which allows for parallelism of all axes and precise surfaces, as well as longevity and precision of the critical characteristics of the machine.
Rolls
Himalaya designs the rolls with the optimal diameter and uses forged carbon steel rolls machined by high-precision CNC lathes. Our rolls have a spline-based design that is extremely efficient in connecting the rolls with planetary gear systems. This diminishes points of roll failure compared to welded connections.
Crowning
All the rolls manufactured by our company are crowned to compensate for roll deflection during the bending process. While ordering, users can select custom crown-machined rolls for different materials or thicknesses.
Hydraulic System
In all our machines, we ensure additional energy saving with the help of a hydraulic system that can work at less than full capacity when jobs with less than maximum thickness are rolled. The twin-speed operation also reduces energy consumption by up to 50% when a slower operating speed is selected. The Himalaya Planetary driving system ™ used in the machines is efficient and eliminates energy wastage associated with heavy-transmission systems and yet achieves the goal of speed reduction by increasing the stages in gears and pinions.

GEE’S BEND QUILTS
Since the 19th century, the women of Gee’s Bend in southern Alabama have created stunning, vibrant quilts. In 2002, folk art collector, historian, and curator William Arnett organized an exhibition entitled "The Quilts of Gee's Bend," which debuted at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and later travelled to a dozen other locations across the country, including our own Milwaukee Art Museum (September 27, 2003 - January 4, 2004). This exhibition brought fame to the quilts, and Arnett's foundation Souls Grown Deep Foundation continues to collect and organize exhibitions for Gee’s Bend Quilts.
The images shown here are from Gee’s Bend: The Women and Their Quilts, with essays by John Beardsley, William Arnett, Paul Arnett, and Jane Livingston, an introduction by Alvia Wardlaw, and a foreword by Peter Marzio. The book was published in 2002 by Tinwood Books, Atlanta, and published in conjunction with the 2002 exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. It includes 350 color illustrations and 30 black-and-white illustrations. The dust jacket notes observe:
The women of Gee’s Bend - a small, remote, black community in Alabama - have created hundreds of quilt masterpieces dating from the early twentieth century to the present. . . . [The] quilts carry forward an old and proud tradition of textiles made for home and family. They represent only a part of the rich body of African American quilts. But they are in a league by themselves. Few other places can boast the extent of Gee’s Bends’s artistic achievement, the result of geographical isolation and an unusual degree of cultural continuity. In few places elsewhere have works been found by three and sometimes four generations of women of the same family, or works that bear witness to visual conversations among community quilting groups and lineages.
Our copy is a gift from our friend and benefactor Suzy Ettinger.

So, um, basing on what is the result of smashing an androids head open is in dbh, uhhhh. gg etho rest in peace :|
Yeah mans is not doing well. Etho needed a LOT of physical repairs after this incident, and that’s not even taking into account the programming/internal errors that caused it in the first place. Doc and Xisuma spend a LONG time trying to fix him before they eventually deem his programming unsalvageable and reset him.
#they spend a LONG time trying to replace all of the plating where etho got MORE physically broken (his forehead and his arm)#but specifically they spend a lot of time very carefully replacing the plating#because they don’t want to completely restore his shell— etho had wanted to keep the cracks from the explosion incident afterall#and if they’re gonna try to restore etho to his previous state they have to be so careful to restore the cracks the way they originally were#etho’s cheek is fine because nothing got worse there#but I imagine it’s really hard to fix his forehead (where there was a crack that went through his eye up to his hairline) and his arm—#without it looking ever so slightly different than it was before#I wonder if etho ever notices it after he deviates again#bdubs probably wouldn’t because he’s not necessarily privy to exact photographic memory like androids#but maybe etho would notice a hairline crack at a slightly different angle or that has a slightly different bend at the top. who knows#sorry I rambled way longer than I meant to DGJBCGHN#ask#dbhc ask#dbhc etho#chlopieno

The plate in Ford's skull is powerful. Absurdly so. But that power mostly comes from how specific it is.
Every ward and symbol etched into it, every enchantment, every single aspect of its design down to the molecular structure of whatever alien metal it's made of, it's all meant to ward off Bill's influence. To disrupt a deal giving Bill full and unconditional access to Ford's mind and body.
It's powerful to the point that even though it's designed to only keep Bill out of his head, it also happens to keep out most other types of mental influence. Even the ones that can get past the plate are usually so weak from the effort that by the time they reach Ford's mind he can fight them off on his own.
And it still doesn't keep Bill out of Ford's dreams, because the world of dreams isn't a place you can reach from within the safety of your own skull.
#ford pines#gravity falls#as a side note on at least one occasion something has tried to crush fords skull only to be foiled by the plate#wouldnt be much good if bill could just get someone to bend the metal and render all that power useless bc a symbol is .1mm off now would i#shits sturdy

this might be a shot in the dark, but do any spoonies who deal with hypermobility know any good tips for stabilizing joints?
the issue im currently having is with my thumb when i do dishes, holding dishes for an extended amount of time makes my thumb joint hurt extremely painfully and im not sure what to do about it. i have KT tape so i might try that bc i wear gloves while i wash dishes anyways, but i just dont know what to do to prevent this pain.
#its my left thimb joint#which is the super hnstable one. it can bend backwards at the second joint from the hand#holding dishes (esp bowls and plates) in a grasping motion makes it bend backwards to hold the weight and then the constant overextending#makes it hurt#hopefully kt helps but idk maybe i should get a brace for it or smth#spoonie#joint hypermobility and pain#hypermobile#hypermobile ehlers danlos#hypermobility#hypermobile eds#hypermobile spectrum disorder#chronically ill#cripple punk

What is it with so many zombie movies and not having armor like. Wear a leather or denim jacket at the least. Not even a zombies sinking its teeth into your flesh through that. I mean have armor anyway just to be safe especially something on your forearms like. So many people in movies go out because they raise their arm to block the thing from going for heir face and surprise. You got bit because you blocked like a smart person but weren't wearing armor like one. It would literally have taken ten minutes to change your fate. You dont need like a suit of armor its an apocalypse you need to be able to move armor would weigh you down bla bla bla. No! First of all you're probably carrying around a bigass pack of supplies, armor isnt going to weigh you down any more than that. Also the armor is like. Wouldnt be a heavy suit of armor like i said. Literally just pad yourself with extra fabric ducttape shit to yourself. Or be cool and collect like aluminum cans and license plates, thin, light metal that you can bend around your arms so next time you block with your arm you'll actually be protected. Thin, light, strong metal that you can tape and wrap all over yourself and it won't weigh you down. Might not withstand bullets but you won't get bit
#i have stroooong feelings about zombie media and how people go about surviving how are people so DUMB. it literally fills me#with indescribable rage when i like watch something and nobodys Thinking like. fucking hell it would take TEN minutes to collect the license#plates of all the abandond cars around you and bend them into cuffs around your arms and legs#a lot of people say they would survive a zombie apocalypse but i WOULD . my autism makes me too smart for one

hmm. had an actual conversation with nightmare coworker today that seemed mutually productive. she apologized for saying some bullshit that hurt my feelings and i clarified that my intentions are to help not to undermine her, and we both agreed that there's no competition against each other and that it's the lack of growth in our role that's the problem. it was...productive.
and further cementing for me that it is time to begin making my Exit. i will be sending out my resume to a few places this weekend.
i'm still processing the conversation, and am struggling to place myself in where i am responsible to better my behavior. because i genuinely don't want to be an ass, even though i really don't like this lady and will jump for joy the day i never have to see her again. she stated that she knows my intentions aren't to hurt her, and that she thinks i'm very kind. i apologized for if my behavior came off as undermining her, and said that my intentions are only to better my own growth—and that i know she's trying to succeed too. i validated her feelings, and complemented the effort she is putting in.
where i'm struggling with is: am i in the wrong/causing harm and needing to change if the issue is that her feelings are incongruent with what she knows of my intentions? her feelings are her responsibility (WOW i almost typed "her feelings are my responsibility". i feel like that's a freudian slip) and she states that she knows i don't mean to hurt her. i'm going to try to be more clear in wording my intentions with her (she feels like me trying to take work off her plate is to undermine her. when really, i'm caught up and see her getting overwhelmed, and i want to help and also have something to do since i'm bored).
but i'm really struggling to look at my role in this and pass judgement on myself. i can and want to do better, and i don't think i did anything wrong, but i'm always so hesitant to say it's not my fault or i didn't do something bad. like i can't trust my judgement on that. my intentions were good, her bad feelings are ones caused by her insecurities, which she more or less has expressed to be aware that they are not true—the hurtful thing she said to me, she acknowledged was said out of hurt and not what she actually thinks. so, is it fair to say i'm not the bad guy? i'm not in the wrong? i know good intentions that still result in harm don't absolve anyone, but when the things that are clashing are insufficient communication and reactive insecurities... i'm not a monster, am i?
#well. i AM probably a monster for how much i dislike this lady#but i don't ACT on it#and i genuinely couldn't care less about her. i participate in decent human pleasantries because i am a decent human.#and at work we're stuck together#the thing that's irked me so much about this conversation is just.. her self centeredness#that she thinks everyone is out to get her. to undermine her. whatever.#bitch nobody cares about you enough one way or the other to put in that kind of effort. i sure don't#i empathize but i do not sympathize. to feel that pit that makes you feel like the worst kind of center of attention#i get it. but genuinely you are not the main character and no one is going to spend their limited time and energy to slowly attack you#you are not the cat with all the knives pointed at it#it's a terrible feeling to feel like you are! but when it influences your behavior to the point that you are making snide comments#to people who have no option not to interact with you then uh. then you're in the wrong buddy#and the people around you (who cannot easily leave! bc work!) should not have to bend over backwards to assure you#that they're not pointing knives at you. to protect themselves from your feelings making you say mean shit#like yes. i can be more clear with my intentions. i'm generally not the greatest at that. but my baseline that i want to#modify my behavior from is NOT one that a regular well adjusted person would take as anything but kind#and if a regular well adjusted person got a little offput by me volunteering to take work off their hands we would've had a very chill#3 sentence conversation about it MONTHS AGO.#i understand and respect (even if i find it annoying and overbearing) the need for me to announce my intentions like im working in a kitchen#and saying 'hot water' or 'knife' as i move around other people but we shouldn't have reached this conclusion this way#and frankly who's to fucking say me being more clear with my intentions will only feed the flames of her thinking i'm out to get her!#'i caught up on my stuff and your plate looks full. i'm bored. anything i can do to help?' could be a pointed knife for all i know!!#and if it is- and my actions still hurt her in that scenario- am i still responsible for the hurt caused??#like WHERE DOES IT FUCKING E N D ?#personal#*exhales* okay i feel better now#i just hate talking about my interactions with her bc i just want NOTHING to do with it. i want her out of my head!!#but until i process it i can't let go#and i'm still going to have to go over all of this with my shrink tomorrow#it just makes me mad how much of my time this bitch takes up. i'm not getting paid to think about work right now!!!!

started thinking about how D.U.F.U.S. works on a technological level and now i'm coming up with headcanons at speeds not yet known to man
#delete later#he runs on an atomic battery#quarkanite alloy = diamondium + graphene#nearly indestructible (but not 100%)#he's made of billions of microscopic nano-plates that can bend in any way or direction#basically a jewel of technology#but if he does break. oh boy#quarkanite is incredibly hard to make (not too mention of rare diamondium is)#his internals are... weird. the other bots have NO IDEA how to work on him#and finding a new battery once his current one runs out is gonna be a nightmare#quark was an absolute genius and a visionnary. it's a shame that accidentally fusing himself with a critter duck has been progressively an#continuously eating away at his physical and intellectual abilities

Sometimes i see a piece of art and i just wanna ask the artist,
are you aware that plate armor is not flexible?
#people really out there acting like corsets which are mostly fabric with reinforced with flexible bones#will prevent the wearer from bending at the waist at all (false i have worn a corset and i can bend a lot more than you’d think)#and then put a lady in a chest and/or back plate#that inexplicably creases in the middle of the torso#do not even get me started on the fact that renaissance plate armor#was CONVEX to DEFLECT WEAPONS AND ATTACKS#AND TO ABSORB IMPACT WITH MINIMAL TRANSFER TO THE BODY#if you have a skin-tight steel plate and get whammied in the ribs congrats you no longer have lungs#that is an exaggeration but only slightly#this is why a long wooden staff could be more deadly than a shorter bladed weapon#who cares if you can’t stab through their maille if the mere impact has broken their ribs?
