So it's been a while, huh? Lots happened between posts, good, bad, and so-so. I won't go into details or whatever, but I've been a lot happier the past 5 months. I will also have someone help me with the artwork for each update, so hopefully, that speeds things up! Thank you all for your patience and support both on the blog and behind the scenes. :-) -Beetle (formerly Muse).

I like thinking about Winterkov in like, a sort of character exploration sense. Winter King as framed as a kind of representation of everyone's praise of Ice King, of Simon's feelings of inadequacy, of Simon's desire to be good enough. Winterkov as a sort of metaphor for romanticizing the parts of yourself that look good, but are unhealthy and harmful under the surface. Winter King as a physical what if I was stronger, better? for Simon, and Simon wanting to cling to the Winter King so he can pretend.

Of course, this would all be from Simon's perspective. The Winter King simply sees a hot guy who happens to be an alternate version of himself and goes "Oh this is a win win for me."

Is it healthy? No. Would kicking the Winter King's ass get Simon kickstarted on therapy? Probably. After all, nothing like beating up the physical representation of your toxic idealized self to really get you thinking about self worth. Probably. I don't have an english degree, I'm doing my best.

anyone who says the blue beetle movie is a basic origin story is lying to you. in a normal superhero movie they get at least a day or two of fun hijinks—sticky fingers, zappy powers, quippy one liners—meanwhile jaime reyes over here is speedrunning the worst 48 hours i’ve ever seen anybody experience.

For some reason lately I've started thinking about beta!Wally and ordinary Wally.... I make headcannons and think about the difference between these two, even though they have the same appearance 🤨🤨🤨🥄 (my first attempts to draw a beta!Wally. two versions, because I'm undecided)

AND THEN HOWDY, BECAUSE I ADORE HIM..... YEAH (I'm still thinking about what I want him to look like in my artstyle—)

So another update!

Good news, I finished my first year, so classes are not a concern for the summer!

...Less than good news, I'm having surgery. Nothing bad, don't worry, but it will knock me off my ass for a bit.

There's also been a lot of background thinking on how I'll proceed with the Updates of Deep Dish, and how I'll want to design my art in such a way it doesn't take literal months to finish. So I've decided to loosen up lineart wise (that's my biggest gripe, I've found.) So, yes, while the style itself won't change much, the lineart will. I hope with that, it'll come out faster. Roughs for the next planned updates are already done, I just need to make them!

In other news though.... I've been posting some stuff off of Tumblr! If you wanna see some silly, not canon stuff with these two, you can find it on the new Parody Twitter! My main is also connected to it as well, where other art can be found.

Thank you all so much for sticking with me for so long, really. It means a lot. I apologize things aren't as frequent as other blogs, but I'm putting a lot of heart into it. This means so much to me.
