“A guitar is my personality expressed through six strings.”
I decided to doodle Koyuki from Beck Mongolian Chop Squad. This anime has been one of my favorites since I was in high school and it was one of things that pushed me to learn how to play guitar. Since rewatching it recently, I’ve felt nostalgic and wanted to draw him. Anyway, I can’t recommend this anime enough if you love rock music. It has an awesome soundtrack that sounds like Rage Against the Machine mixed with Nirvana. If that sounds interesting to you, go check it out right now!!

Top 10 Characters I Identify With
I recently did a post about the top 10 characters that I see my fiancee in the most (linked here), which she loved, by the way, and I thought to myself – what about me?  What characters do I most see myself in?  This is always a trick, because it’s basic psychology that it’s impossible for people to see themselves accurately.  However, when I think about the characters over the years who hit the…

Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad & Oasis

No live action lançado em 2010, a música Don't Look Back In Anger faz parte a trilha-sonora do filme.

Totsukuni no Shoujo (The Girl From the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún) by Nagabe
A harrowing and beautiful grim dark fairy tale set in a world populated with monstrous creatures that can curse people with a single touch. The story follows a young girl named Shiva and her otherworldly Teacher who live in a vacant village on the "outside." The story explores the dichotomy of light and darkness, good and evil, body and soul, and those who linger in the quiet spaces in between. Nagabe’s dreamy story book illustrations capture the fantastical and eerie world vividly, crafted together in fine lines and careful contrasts.

Dungeon Meshi (Dungeon in Delicious) by Ryoko Kui
A charming medieval fantasy story about, well, dungeons, dragons, and delicious food! The premise is simple: kill the magician of the dungeon and the golden kingdom shall be yours, or so the former king declared before fading to dust. And so, we follow a group of adventurers as they traverse the dungeon and, after losing their supplies and friend to a red-scaled dragon, meet a dwarf who teaches them how to prepare and cook monster ingredients. The story delights in monster designs and their anatomies and ecosystems, and boasts a diverse cast of characters that are as equally complex and well-developed.

MagMell Shinkai Suizokukan (Deep Sea Aquarium MagMell) by Kiyomi Sugishita
A gorgeously illustrated story following Koutarou Tenjou, a janitor and assistant keeper at a deep sea aquarium in Tokyo. The story quietly opens up a hidden, dreamlike world filled with strange and wonderful creatures that dwell in the dark depths of the sea. Sugishita beautifully captures the fleeting, tender moment of fondness and rumination that people experience while watching the majesty of the ocean and her inhabitants.

BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad by Harold Sakuishi
An absolute classic! A soul-stirring, coming of age story about music, brotherhood, and the angst of adolescence. It features a group of colorful teenagers who come together to form a rock band and the story focuses on their love, trials, and tribulations as they struggle to fame. The protagonist, Yukio “Koyuki” Tanaka, embodies the raw, honest, confronting, and liberating feeling of self-discovery and self-expression that young people often go through. His growth is slow and subtle, but so genuine and measured, and he becomes the force that eventually pulls the groups’ sound together.

Medalist by Tsurumaikada
A heartfelt story that explores the familial, social, and economical pressures of competitive sports, specifically figure skating. We follow Inori Yuitsuka, a fifth grader who is desperate to become a skater but has been constantly criticized by those around her and told that she’s too old to begin training competitively. All except for down-on-his-luck former figure skater Tsukasa Akeuraji who sees her potential and decides to coach her with the promise of winning a medal. Despite the somber premise, this is an incredibly uplifting story about building confidence, realizing your self-worth, and pursuing your dreams regardless of when you decide to start. The athleticism and elegance of figure skating is also portrayed beautifully through dynamic and expressive artwork and paneling.

Holyland by Kouji Mori
An intense, character-driven story following high school student Yuu Kamishiro who, after being driven to isolation by the abuse of his peers and with no place in society, ventures out into the night in search of his "holyland." He finds acceptance through violence and solace in the lawless brutality of the streets. The author meditates on human nature and explores the nature of one's emotions, particularly grief and hatred, and how they define us. Make no mistakes though, this is also very much a martial arts story and Mori balances both the technical and impassionate aspects of combat seamlessly.
(Includes depictions of self-harm, depression, bullying, violence).

E come? Dopo un episodio a dir poco imbarazzante, Koyuki si abbandona su una panchina e si sta piangendo addosso quando scorge un gruppo di…

I actually do have some reasoning so Imma just list it real quick.
Wormmon from Digimon. Idk I just always felt like i got him since I was a kid and he got me
Ken pre-ghoul from Tokyo Ghoul. He reminds me of me when I was younger. I liked escaping in books and my best friends tended to be way more extroverted than me.
Retsuko from Agretsuko. I watched this show at a time when I was working a job that was overworking me and I was just so over it but also didn't have another place to go and I just felt so seen when I watched her onscreen.
Marionette from Miraculous ladybug. She's really clumsy and just generally pretty goofy and she reminds me of me when I was like in middle school.
Sophie from How I Met Your Father. Whenever we watch the show my sister always says Sophie is me coded and living with Sophie is literally like living with me. Just a similar personality type.
Ash from Fantastic Mr.Fox. He's a non-athletic dork whos grumpy which is me alot of the time. He also reminds me of younger me.
Haru from Beast Stars. She's just so stressed and the future is so uncertain and she likes gardening and being alone. I never thought I would feel so seen watching a show like that but I did.
Koyuki from Beck. I just felt like he was me as a boy. I felt very understood in many ways reading this manga.
Colt from Attack on Titan. I'm an oldest sibling too and I can also be kind of embarrassing but generally protective.
💕 No pressure 💕
@solciego @solivagantress @kuromienthusiast @mikatsuobushi @popgreens @marshmallow-rainbow139
💕 characters that I think are very me-coded... but I can't possibly explain how (tag game)

This will definitely highlight the fact that I never know how to start my fics. The reason Forces Far Greater Than Field Hockey is taking is so long is because I just keep rewriting the first chapter over and over again, because I don't where to start 😭
Ever since we met, the world's been upside down (Rabbit): Toad had accepted that the reason his marriage fell apart was because of his inability to love, it was all his fault, there was nothing he could do to fix it.
Calligraphy (Neo Yokio): Kaz would never say aloud that he was hoping Arcangelo might've sent something.
The Prayer (Onyx Equinox): The worst part about having a sibling so much younger than you is watching your father do everything he did to you to an even more innocent child.
Carnival Dream (Goats): "Did I tell you about getting stuck on the Zipper? That carnival ride?"
Milk Tea (My Girlfriend Is An Alien): Jiang Xue sipped her milk tea, and realized Xiaoqi hadn't ordered anything.
Sound Check (Beck Mongolian Chop Squad): Not long after the talent show, Rikiya caught Masaru staring at Koyuki, and said, "Hey, stay away from him."
A. Corelli (Neo Yokio): Arcangelo remembered the day Angela left.
Just Smoking (Goats): Ellis wasn't sure how long they'd been out smoking.
Pink Christmas, Continued (Neo Yokio): The storm had kept Arcangelo awake and he didn't get any sleep.

Dirk Gently was having a very bad day.
Is This Real Life? (Is This Just Fantasy?) (dghda):
“I’m never getting out of here.”
