wwdits Finale
I feel this to be quite the tragic ending,at least for guillermo,at least ,in a way. Even though these 6 seasons we have seen plenty of growth from the cast,we are shown this isnt the first, nor possibly the last documentary done about them.We see that 50-60 years ago they were the same as now (maybe had similar character arcs that as decades pass just...watered down.to them, decades are minutes,as shown in earlier seasons). Guillermo is human and fleeting. As Nadja points out,he freaks the fuck out as the documentary ends, because he feels nothing has changed. He tries to coax the vampires to point out how they have changed these past 6 years of filming. They all show that they are the same. He,as human, can see it and cares about it.His life is short and he needs change to feel accomplished. The rest dont care,as they are trapped inside an endless limbo. Even in the final scenes,he keeps wanting to hear something new from Nandor (the whole light smell talk) but is dissapointed We seem him weep alone,on top of the crews baggage,as the vampires just sing together. He cant join them, since he too will once leave. The ending he gives "for the documentary to look good" would have been ideal for him.He finally leaves and goes on to live a new life, away from the endless cycle. But,in reality,he just decides to stay with Nandor, and he is literally shallowed by the house, sitting in the coffin.

The scarest thing about Nandor being actually smart in all things Guillermo is that this is the reason why he'll never make the move to be with him:
Nandor already knows how he feels about Guillermo.
He's not even repressing it. He's just made peace with it. Because Guillermo was never an option.
Guillermo is human. He'll choose to stay human. He's fleeting. He'll always leave in some form or fashion. Nandor doesn’t choose to act on his feelings for Guillermo for the same reason why he never turned him. It would just be a curse.

I don’t think we acknowledge enough that the Guide’s whole thing is that she was cursed to a life of servitude to the Vampiric Council because she loved a Van Helsing. Like that seems relevant when we’re talking about her in relation to Nandor

I genuinely think the main issues with Nandor and Guillermo is that they have completely different types of love language. Nandor isn't a words guys. He's never gonna say "I love you" or "You matter" or anything like that. He's never gonna tell someone how he feels deep down because that's not how he is. He's an actions dude. He holds hands, he protects, he, he jokes, he gives gifts. He sees acts of service as these deep intimate moments. Likewise, words mean very little to him so it doesn't occur to him to say anything because why would he need to. Guillermo, on the other hand is someone who needs words of validation. He needs to hear things, say things. And I think a really nice theme that's been prevalent throughout is their coming to mutually understand one another. To where we're at a point where Nanador is realising that Guillermo NEEDS to hear him say it. He needs him to say "You're super cool. You're a warrior. Fate brought us together. Come home." And Guillermo is realising that grabbing Nandor's hand and looking into his eyes is more intimate for him than anything else. This isn't a slow burn. This is the story of two people realising they've ALWAYS loved one another and I personally think that's really fucking beautiful tbh

highly unlikely, given the fact that it's not intended as a comedy, that there'll ever be any iwtv crossover episodes even though there definitely should be because I love crossover episodes especially when it's only referenced in one episode and then never again
But I would give my left arm for Daniel to ask Lestat, during the interview, where he was and what he was doing between his attempted murder and the trial and his answer to be a nonchalant "Hm? Oh, I was just visiting some friends in Staten Island, we've known each other for over a century now. I've invited them to the next show on the tour actually, they should be arriving soon," and then the doorbell rings and it's Guillermo struggling to carry a comically large amount of suitcases with Nadja, Laszlo, and Nandor standing behind him.
The rest of the episode is just Daniel trying to keep the interview on track and slowly losing his mind when it keeps getting derailed, and then they leave at the end and it's just never talked about again.
I would like to see it.

thinking abt how awful the season five cliffhanger will be and how this season's events are gonna entirely unravel nandor and guillermo's entire dynamic and force them to face feelings they hide behind the master/familiar relationship. bc the fact is that everyone else is gonna know before nandor does bc guillermo loves nandor the most. and everyone hides it from nandor bc they love him and love guillermo too and don't want them to kill each other!!! all this betrayal comes from an abundance of LOVE?

I think we sometimes forget that Nandor was chosen by The Baron, one of the most ancient and powerful vampires, to lead an expedition with Nadja and Laszlo to conquor all of 'The New World' and subjugate its people roughly 200 years ago...

the fact that Nandor not only knew to keep the glasses on him during the ceremony despite any hope he might have had paired with not only him silently handing them over but also the fact that they don't... talk about it. Guillermo just quietly thanks him as if that wasn't the most fucking brutal understated gesture of defeat for them both. they literally both had to face it fully in that moment that he'd chosen mortality. they both lost their dreams and the first exchange after it's done is Nandor silently confessing that he not only knows Guillermo inside and out but that he was prepared to still care for Guillermo regardless. and it goes just as unsaid as everything else between them. I'm unwell
