Thank you for sharing such a wonderful blog post with us this week! I found your post to be rather interesting for a variety of different reasons. Firstly, I appreciated how you highlighted the importance of noting that art plays a powerful and significant role in the lives of each and every individual. This could be in a variety of different forms- painting, music, dance, photography, all excellent methods you shared with us. These are all different ways for us as individuals to interpret nature and art (Beck et al., 2018). Another fantastic point that you shed light on was that prior to enrolling in this course, you felt that interpreting nature was more complicated than we now know it to be, and that only professionals could truly appreciate it. I felt that exact same way, and quickly learned that I could not have been more incorrect. A simple, fascinating way to interpret nature could be something as small as you mentioned, including taking a photo of a sunset and its vibrant colours. Little did I know, I have been interpreting nature for my entire life. 

According to the textbook and as mentioned in your blog, we can interpret beauty by our ability and desire to appreciate the beauty of our surroundings, provide spiritual upliftment, and encourage resource preservation (Beck et al., 2018). This would ultimately allow us to develop and grow a deeper and fonder appreciation for nature itself. You made a beautiful point about how we can visualize and appreciate the gift of beauty in a variety of different ways, including photos, movies, or even images in television shows. Lastly, the quote that you included was moving and inspiring. Simply put, yet so true. Each individual will have their own interpretation, and art is in the eye of the beholder. We can make things out how we want them to be and based on how we view things.  Overall, amazing post! Blog 4: Nature Interpretation through Art

Welcome to my week 4 blog post!

Art plays a significant role in everyone's life, serving as a powerful outlet for self-expression. There are many forms of the arts, including painting, music, dance, and photography.

Nature Interpretation through Art

Interpreters can use various aspects of art to interpret nature. As discussed in previous weeks, everyone has their own way of interpreting and learning new information. For some individuals, interpreting nature through art might involve taking photographs, dancing, theatre, or visual arts (Beck et al.,  2018).

Before taking this course, I believed that interpreting nature through art was much more complicated than it really is or that you had be a professional in order to appreciate it. During this unit I learned that it can be as simple as capturing the vibrant colours of a sunset in a photograph. I never considered myself someone who interprets art, but, I've realized that I have been doing it for most of my life.

"You do not need to be a talented artist to be able to appreciate nature as seen through art."

Gift of Beauty

How do we interpret "the gift of beauty"? According to the textbook, this concept refers to the idea that "interpretation should instill in people the ability and desire to appreciate the beauty of their surroundings, provide spiritual upliftment, and encourage resource preservation" (Beck et al.,  2018). Ultimately, environmental interpretation through art allows an individual to develop a deeper appreciation for nature and be motivated to help conserve its beauty.

I see the "gift of beauty" in visual arts and appreciate different forms, such as photographs, films, and images in television shows (Beck et al.,  2018). When I was younger I remember my brother always watched widlife shows on National Geographic. I remember being so fascinated by how this channel was able to showcase an animals raw beauty and full range of life in the animal kingdom.

Dragon Today at the MAO, the museum for Oriental art in Turin, i saw the extraordinary exhibition about kakemono into japanese painting art.
