#Beauty culture generally these days is also by women for women but we recognize the Part it plays and understand how it undermines us

This is going to be a bit of a ramble. This topic is super interesting and definitely something that needs to be talked about more. I think that a lot of feminists, even radfems when faced with criticisms of things like erotica and fanfics and stuff made by women for women, tend to go down the defensive route and assume that those criticisms come from a place of infantilizing women and believing that women should change their desires to match a political ideology. It's understandable because so much of the criticism comes from a conservative perspective that denies women their sexual agency, so it's only natural that we become defensive.
But I feel in my opinion that we genuinely do not talk enough about how romance books and fanfics and smut are where many girls get their first exposure to sex and sexuality. And literature made by women and for women still upholds that same patriarchal sexual model of active male and passive female at BEST. Just because it is made and consumed by women doesn't mean it's going to be particularly subversive or feminist, nor should we expect it to be. Some radfems also fall into that kind of defensive thinking, that because we acknowledge the socialization that shapes even our deepest desires, we must think that women are stupid and do not know themselves and should change in order to fit a narrative and no longer make that content or consume it. And only when discussing female socialization do we bring out the 'oh you think women are stupid and should change' line. Women can and do uphold consciously uphold patriarchal structures just as men do. Women can and do enjoy and explore the dynamics these structures create, and just as when men do the same, we cannot consider it harmless, even in fiction. Do we ever, upon seeing the kind of content a man consumes, think 'actually he's just exploring patriarchal structures, he's not stupid and it's his choice to do that, doesnt mean he will want that in real life'? 'What if he's actually consuming it consciously?' No, because acknowledging male socialization somehow never degrades a man's intelligence and agency. He is not infantilized. We recognize that while he is socialized he is actively making choices that uphold a structure to women's overall detriment. And that engaging with media that reflects that structure, even if consciously, even if he is engaging with it only as a fantasy, isnt doing anything to change it. Women also uphold that same structure. We can acknowledge that women are conditioned into desiring things that are antithetical to our cause without considering them infantile and stupid and easily influenced. 'Analyzing power dynamics within societies by exploring them sexually' is actually quite a common justification in kink spaces, and again, we focus on the 'submissive's exploration of those dynamics because it is easier to digest than realizing that the dominant is also exploring and enjoying that same structure, and that the submissive, while not in control, plays a significant part in upholding this dynamic.
Heres where it gets tricky though. Sexuality under systems of power is inherently fucked up. Female sexuality is no different. But what can we do to change that? Art imitates life and life imitates art, but I think the first is true more than the second. Social structures need to change in order for our expressions of sexuality to change. Our expressions and inherent beliefs about sexuality need to change in order for default expressions in fiction to change. Not much will change if we change the fiction first. But if women continue to make and consume content that upholds this structure, even consciously as a way to explore their personal desires, arent we still upholding that structure? Obviously the answer is not shaming and forcing them to change. But when it comes to other things that involves agency, like for example engaging in beauty culture, we as radfems recognize that some level of personal change, collective encouragement to break out of oppressive standards, reducing consumption of beauty content and reconditioning ourselves into healthier models and expressions is a part of radfem ideology. I don't see why our personal sexual desires expressed in fiction, that other women and girls consume, should be any different.
All this to say that this can't be considered a non issue or something that 'isn't that deep' with the justification that women know what they want and they're exploring it consciously. We very much are still upholding the same system with our conscious explorations.
What's your take on written erotica/smut like fanfiction? Obviously it's nowhere comparable to porn, but I definitely see problems with it as it can perpetuate misinformation and harmful stereotypes all the same (ie. many tropes are very likely based on exposure to porn).
I do see fanfiction as something of a hobby/safe space made predominantly by women for women. There's creativity and a community involved, and real people aren't being harmed in its production.
What do you think? Is it something feminists should be against? Or is it a gray area?
It's situational and depends on context. Women are allowed to be sexual and explore their desires as much as their boundaries. I also think it's sticky to assume that anything "bad" that a woman says is sexually exciting can only have been learned through socialization. However, socialization can never be removed from sex. So, should women be treated like grown adults who know their own sexual appetites? Surely, yes. Does that mean adult women can't be coerced or socialized into "liking" something they otherwise would not have? Obviously not, that is very possible.
I think there is a history within feminism that can swing a little conservative in this area, moralizing natural sexual instincts and assuming women ought not have sex at all. This is problematic thinking for me, but also I don't ultimately disagree with the benefits of celibacy and how radical and political that decision can be. I celebrate every woman who takes that course of action, for whatever reason and whatever sexuality and to whatever degree. Women do not need to have sex, of any kind, with anyone.
The issue I take, however, is the impulse to assume women can't know their own minds, bodies, and intuitions - or that an individual woman's body belongs to a political agenda before it belongs to herself. This is a general impulse of misogyny as a whole, and I think it's false to assume you don't have this impulse just because you are a feminist. It takes a lot of work, constant lifelong work, to see women as full capable adult humans and also to have a theory of mind about women. Women are not infantile, and sexuality is not inconvenient.
To loop this back to fanfiction, I think we can see a convergence of different issues (mild and serious) with some things that are fact-of-life or even positive. My main concern with "smutty fanfiction" is actually young girls, rather than women. I think a lot of tweens and teens are exposed to raunchy fanfiction before they're exposed to scientific and unmoralizing sexual education. That can cause huge issues for young girls that can lead to issues as young (and even old) women. Should a 13-year-old be masturbating to written BDSM of cartoon characters before she even learns that masturbating is normal and healthy & before she can see any affirmations that "normal" sex is meant to be pleasurable, and women are active participants to it? Not to be puritanical but, uhm, no. Are there, like, policy fixes I think should be in place? I struggle with that.
I think the policy fixes for these issues aren't so much about regulating fanfiction and who gets to access the internet - I think it more has to do with disseminating proper sexual education early and thoughtfully. When it comes to the role of fanfiction and erotica in women's lives in general, perhaps backstage activism is a better route here. Conscious raising groups, books & magazines, getting together with women and girls and having frank and open discussions...these things go a long way in our communities.
But also - girls get to be sexual too, and I think the ways taboo intersects with sexuality isn't so surprising. I don't think feminists need to be overly alarmed when girls are curious and maybe a little naughty. I don't think reading fanfiction is ever going to be worse than watching online porn, least of all that the way your brain processes video is different than how it processes the written word. I don't think a young girl is "doomed" if she reads a particularly explicit book or sees something that is, broadly, disagreeable to feminist thinking. If anything, maybe feminists should be targeting mothers and giving them resources on how to intervene in a healthy way. How do you talk about weird furry porn to your tweenager without making her feel ashamed? How can you make it so that the embarrassing is funny and she feels safe? How can you say "I don't think you should be looking at this" not because it's sexual, but because it distorts sexuality? How do we help mom be cool when maybe mom isn't cool?
I think this is a very interesting topic that deserves attention, and a lot could be written about it. Thanks for the great question.
#I genuinely am unsure of how anythings gonna change though#We're too deep in it#I'm just disappointed that radfem analysis doesn't focus much on this just because it's by women and for women#Beauty culture generally these days is also by women for women but we recognize the Part it plays and understand how it undermines us#And I know it's different when men consume sex content vs when women do it because men express the harm onto others making it worse by far#Doesn't mean we should consider the women's side harmless#I rly hope I'm making sense#media analysis#female socialization

Do you think the WWBM Interacial movement has now got to a critical point where momentum has starting to challenge even the majority of White Women now as far as there choices for relationship ? May we as White Males even lose this group of females to African Men more then we keep ourselves ?
The short answer is definitely yes.
Because of my own personal experiences and also just looking at major social trends, it's pretty obvious that IR relationships (in general, but specifically white girls and black guys) are much more common now than they were 10, 30, and 30 years ago.
I think there are lots of reasons for this and I’m obviously not an expert (I work in finance, not cultural psychology), but lets just look at the obvious trends:
Girls today are more empowered in general, and especially regarding sexuality and romance. I mention this a lot on this blog, there are less things hold girls back than there used to be. Movies and TV and culture in general are so much more accepting that people can love who they want to love, and that applies especially to society being more accepting of girls expressing their sexuality. I grew up in a time when dating black guys was an obvious but implied no-no, and it's just not the same today. (Note this is NOT true everywhere. Sadly there are racists and homophobes still, but they will probably be holdouts until they die.)
Black men are idolized for their physicality and masculinity by society more and more every day. Sports, music, advertising media, movies, social media and TV shows - you name it, black guys are constantly the icon of masculinity, status and power. This is really true for their masculinity, where we regularly fetishize the sexual prowess of black men in every day culture with phrases like “once you go black you never go back.”
Porn is free and everywhere. Also something that wasn’t the case when I was growing up, but now you just pick up any cell phone and in a few seconds be privately and anonymously staring at an amazing black man and his huge black cock (or whatever your fantasy is).
Also in the last few years, social justice and institutional racism has become a hot topic, I think a lot of women recognize that the same old white male patriarchy that has been suppressing women since the beginning of time has also been responsible for suppressing Black people. This puts white women and black men on the same side on a pretty deep level, where they see each other in the same existential struggle for happiness against the common enemy that is old white guys.
Another interesting thing that I've read reports about is more and more young white guys who are essentially "staying single" forever, sometimes due to porn addiction. They make a sexual connection with porn that is easy and judgment free, which is the opposite of the real-world dating situation where they deal with complex social dynamics and competition (including trying to compete against more masculine black men who are constantly in movies and music).
So if that's a growing tend... then young women find themselves more free in choosing partners, society idolizing black guys, exposed to IR sex and porn, and more culturally aligned with black guys… and young white guys basically removing themselves from the dating pool.
As for me personally, I have always thought think black guy / white girl couples are the most beautiful -- there's a special passion and primal attraction that goes deep down that you just don't see with other couples.
So yes, I think black guy and white girl couples are definitely more and more popular. I don’t think we’ll ever get to a point where all white men are unwanted forever (sorry white boys who message me, desperate to live in such a world), but I do think increasingly empowered girls and wider acceptance of female sexuality will naturally trend to more black guys and white girls together - which is all beautiful to me :)

That was one heck of a show, Beyonce the woman you are...
If you haven’t seen it already, Beyonce’s incredible halftime performance at an NFL game on Christmas Day has outstanding imagery and deep cultural significance towards African American history.
In no particular order, I will break down this performance of her album Cowboy Carter.
We see Beyonce riding in on a white horse. White horses symbolize American spirit, “a relentless pursuit of freedom and justice” and in greek mythology, finding and riding a white horse grants great power and success.
With the backlash of her album Cowboy Carter, she is stating that she can find success in any genre as she is already widely successful in hers. It’s also just the cowgirl thing to do.
Beyonce is also from Houston, Texas, a place known for being very southern and having deep country roots as well as her mother being from Louisiana, and it doesn’t get any more country than that!
Many of her dancers and performers in the show were seen wearing white bandanas. White bandanas signify unity, which Beyonce is trying to do with her crossing over genres.
The band playing was TSU’s “Ocean of Soul,” which is an HBCU, or historically black college and university marching band.
The women singing “Blackbird” beside Beyonce in the opening were Tanner Adell, Tiera Kennedy, Reyna Roberts, and Brittney Spencer, all black women country singers. The song “Blackbird” originally sung by The Beatles is a song inspired as a message of hope to Black women during the Civil Rights movement.
Shaboozey performed his song with Beyonce “Sweet Honey Buckin”, as he is also an up-and-coming black country artist.
She had various young black talent portrayed all throughout her show along with Ja'Dayia Kursh who became Arkansas' first Black rodeo queen in 2017.
In the scenes where carriages and Cadillac cars were in shot, they were decorated with roses. During Juneteenth celebrations in Texas in the early 1900s, their buggies, carts, and wagons were often decorated with roses. Juneteenth, or June 19, 1865, is a day marked and celebrated to be the end of African American slavery in America.
In a scene you can see performers standing on top of the horses, this signifies a popular, powerful photograph from a 2009 article by Gabriela Hasbun for Andscape, where six black men are seen standing on their horses. A tribute to black cowboys in America.
After Beyonce’s iconic release of her album Lemonade, she performed “Daddy Lessons”, a country-leaning song, at the 2016 Country Music Awards alongside Dixie Chicks and the backlash was brutal. Country fans and C.M.A. watchers did not like the fact that Beyonce was there since she was not a country artist, and they also criticized her political views at the time.
Following the blatant discrimination and backlash, the Country Music Association in Nashville took down every trace of the live performance off of their platforms and photos taken by them. They did not defend Beyonce and people did not take lightly to that.
After Cowboy Carter's release in early 2024, the C.M.A. disrespected Beyonce again as they did not recognize Beyonce and Cowboy Carter and she did not receive one nominee for this album despite its high praise and topping the country music charts.
This halftime show performance and Cowboy Carter in general is a beautiful articulation of being black in a predominately white business, (and country). She took something that is supposedly only for white Americans and made it a cultural phenomenon in music and black music history.
“The cowboy is a symbol of strength and aspiration in America. The cowboy was named after slaves who handled the cows. The word ‘cowboy’ comes from those who were called boys, never given the respect they deserved,” - Beyonce

on cancel culture, tumblr, lit crit shit, paranoid reading, and some observations on blogging about byron & the shelleys —
every day someone comments on one of my posts about old dead writers with the most insufferable and reactionary takes disguised under a veil of liberalism. go read eve sedgwick's essay on paranoid reading & reparative reading, and learn how to enjoy things!!! why are you trying to cancel people who died 200 years ago? stop!!!
9/10 times they've never read the writer in question, they just hear that these writers were problematic and without using their own critical thinking skills, and having done zero research, they readily condemn them. no real appreciation for literature, no real appreciation for history or culture. and if they do have these, or if they have done research, it's entirely biased, already marked with judgement (aka exemplary paranoid reading).
i think it's very interesting that percy shelley and lord byron were getting cancelled in their own time period left and right, and now they still face cancellation attempts for some of the same reasons, only now more often at the hands of self-described progressives who feel they do so for the "right reasons."
a major problem in discourse (both in and outside of academia) is that most people do not understand the difference between "criticism" in the academic sense (which is synonymous with "discussion," "analysis," "engagement") and "criticism" in the colloquial sense (synonymous with "condemnation" or "harsh judgement" or even sometimes "attacking").
so when we start talking about literary criticism, some misinformed people automatically seek to cancel every dead writer, burn every book, and disregard all of history, even the progressive bits, because they simply don't care, and think that they are being "critical" and that this is a good thing, when they are using the wrong definition of the term to begin with. if i taught a class on literature the first thing i would do is make the distinction between these two definitions.
a lot of people approach dead writers or old writing in bad faith (paranoid reading). they automatically denounce The Olds for being problematic, and then proceed to believe they are morally superior for their own lack of depth.
percy shelley is one of the most progressive and forward-thinking figures of his generation and it's honestly a miracle that we still have access to some of his works which were literally burned in his own lifetime, but that his friends and most importantly his best friend, his wife mary shelley, carefully preserved during his life and long after his death even in the face of social ruin and censure, because they recognized his immense merit and they desperately loved him and his work. this is a beautiful thing!!!
this isn't the narrative a lot of people prefer, though. a lot of people would have mary shelley, instead of being the publisher and defender of his works as she was, be forced into the role which she herself openly derided, of being percy's unwilling bride, victim, who merely tolerated him, who was herself either repressed or oppressed by him. nor is nuance allowed in this narrative.
this narrative is based on a reactionary stance disguised as progressive. that all women writers are mere victims to the men around them. nevermind the fact that mary shelley's husband was one of her biggest encouragers (as well as her trusted proofreader and editor; and all this also goes for her father godwin, but to a lesser extent, as one could more easily make the argument that godwin did emotionally neglect mary).
paint all male writers as abusive control freaks, and all female writers associated with them as their weak-willed puppets, all based on their biological sex and a surface-level analysis of their biographies. these people are arguably just as bad as the sexist pseudo-scholars who have claimed that percy actually penned the entirety of frankenstein and used mary as his puppeteered pseudonym. as if mary never sought agency of her own and never possessed a modicum of it!
for a fair analysis on percy and mary's connection, i highly recommend Anna Mercer's "The Collaborative Literary Relationship of Percy Bysshe Shelley and Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley" and her interview by Mathelinda Nabugodi for a TLDR version.
i find it interesting that my posts about percy shelley's personal life are not only much more popular than my similar posts about byron (probably due to percy's surname; the mary/frankenstein connection) -- but also that i see way more criticism against percy than against byron.
i think this is partly due to their portrayals in the ahistorical 2018 mary shelley biopic film (see: graham henderson's blog posts on this topic) wherein byron was somehow portrayed as less of an asshole than shelley (which i never would have thought possible had i not seen it). & maybe it has to do with interest in & misconceptions about mary in general. but this is surprising because in many regards, percy really is much more likeable and progressive than byron.
i once had a person hating on byron and trying to argue with me entirely under a post about percy shelley which had nothing to do with byron. whenever i try to critically engage with this sort of backlash on my posts, it is utterly pointless. none of them are interested in or respectful of the opinions of others, nor are they receptive to facts or nuance or engaging with any material in any mature or serious way.
it's especially difficult that they mostly comment on my more popular joking posts/memes, bc that sets up a false pretense for me or my blog to be taken unseriously, when i do take academic figures & topics seriously. my blog is a place for me to unwind and joke about literature, yes, but it's not like i'm just mindlessly joking about writers i've never studied. a lot of people assume that i'm genuinely ridiculing writers when i playfully make fun of them, so they take it as an invitation to do the same, when that's not my case at all.
— back to the percy/byron comparison: in the history of my blog posts, i've seen probably 30+ percy haters and maybe 5 byron haters. as i said, this is honestly bewildering. there are way more justifiable reasons for hating byron than there are for hating shelley.
if we're speaking solely in terms of political, creative, & ideological stances between the two, (and there are hundreds of books/essays comparing their lives/works/philosophies,) i agree and disagree with both of them on various topics. they're both extremely complex writers/thinkers/figures and very different people, despite having been friends.
but if i'm comparing them biographically speaking, if i had to let one of them babysit my children, i would choose percy 10/10 times. if i had to live with one of them, i would choose percy most of the time, although either of them would be tough as a roommate for different reasons.
but overall, percy was a bit more decent biographically speaking, though that doesn't make him a superior writer (percy himself wrote numerous times that he felt byron was creatively superior to him, but morally inferior). and i think most people who've researched the two would agree that percy is the more moral poet by most standards.
for these and many other reasons, it seems apparent to me that the majority of people who hate percy are often parroting the rhetoric of others & not actually thinking for themselves -- which mary endlessly wrote that she despised, as she devoted so much of her time and energy to defending her husband's moral character from critics, so it's especially disappointing that most of the anti-percy sentiment comes from mary shelley fans, who don't even realize how much effort she put into publishing his work and transcribing it as his pre- and posthumous amanuensis.

A clone of a Ukrainian blogger selling russian goods was created in China
"Russian beauty, the Chinese welcome you."
The avatars in the video are created from stolen and altered online images. Women in real life recognized themselves in the video.
Olga Loyek is one of these women. A 20-year-old Ukrainian woman studies cognitive science at the University of Pennsylvania. A few months ago, Loyek opened a YouTube channel where she talks about mental health and shares her philosophical views on life. However, soon after that, she started receiving messages from followers who said they saw her on Chinese social networks.
There, she is not Olga Loek, but a russian woman who speaks Chinese, loves China, and wants to marry a Chinese man. Her name is Natasha, Anna, or Grace, depending on the social media platform in China.
"I started translating the videos using Google Translate and realized that most of these accounts were talking about things like China, russia, and how good relations are between China and Russia," she told VOA. "It's very offensive."
In some videos, the avatars talk about how they appreciate the close ties between russia and China. Other clips praise Chinese history and culture or talk about how strongly russian women want to marry a Chinese man.
"If you marry a russian woman, we will do the laundry, cook, and wash the dishes every day," says the avatar. "We will also give you foreign children as many as you want."
Douyin and Bilibili video sites contain several dozen videos in which Loyek's avatar speaks Chinese. Most of these accounts invite viewers to visit online stores to buy what they say are authentic russian goods.
Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, flagged some of these videos as potentially generated by artificial intelligence. But it is clear from the comments that many believers are looking at a real woman. One user wrote: "Russian beauty, the Chinese welcome you."
Loyek said she would never say such things, obviously considering she is from Ukraine, which has been at war with russia since 2022 [2014 actually - N.B. from the translator]. She said: "It's probably used to make people, maybe people in China, feel that foreigners think their country is the best."
On Bilibili, China's largest video site, some AI videos using the Loyek creature are labeled with HeyGen logos, indicating that the video was created on the company's website.
In one video from Bilibili, the demonstrator even shows how to make a short HeyGen video with clips of Loek speaking. HeyGen is an AI campaign based in Los Angeles that has been operating in China since 2020. It specializes in realistic digital avatars, voice generation, and video translation. According to Forbes, the campaign is now valued at $75 million.
HeyGen's moderation policy states that users may not create avatars that "depict real people, including celebrities or public figures, without express consent."
Avatar campaign video shows users must send videos to people who agree to use their picture Loyek said that after she and her YouTube followers sent complaints to Chinese social media campaigns, about a dozen accounts impersonating her were removed.

Art works of women and the impact on artistic diversity
Chenge Mao
Introduction
The ukiyo-e artist Geshi Beizhai, who painted the world-famous Kanagawa Surfing Sato; Monet, the ‘leader of Impressionism’; and Rodin, the master sculptor. ...... If these names are familiar to you, have you ever heard of Pipeline Ascension, Geshi Yingwei, Berthe Morisot, Camille Claudel? In the long history of human art development, women have always played a role that cannot be ignored. From the sculptures of the Ancient Greek period to the paintings of the Renaissance, the female figure has always been the subject of artists' enthusiastic expression. However, despite the frequent appearance of women's images in works of art, the position of women artists in history has long been neglected and marginalized. But they used the impact of their artwork to change their situation, they may have caused some influence on artistic diversity because of the immediacy (Goodpasture. E.2022.),art works attracted attention quickly.
Main
Art historian Linda Nochlin (1971) said that “The entire situation of artistic creation, including the development of the creator and the quality of the artwork, taken place within a certain social environment, therefore the problem of women artists’ situation should be thought in terms of the dimension of ‘social structure’.” Although there was a general prejudice against women in those days because of the social situation and issues, there was no prejudice against works of art, so that women need to use different ways to make a difference.
"Since some negative rhetoric and prejudice still exists, some women artists are reacting against avant-gardism and retrenching in aesthetic areas neglected or ignored in the past and created a completely different art style." (Parker, R and Pollock, G., 2020). During this period, women artists developed a strong sense of independence and equality in art, creating works with unique styles that reflected their different upbringing and perspectives. Their approach to art was distinct from men’s and should be recognized rather than suppressed. For example, in Europe, landscapes were considered lower-tier art, but in Japan and China, women presented landscapes in diverse and innovative ways. One such artist, Geshi Yingwei, the daughter of Geshi Beizhai, carried on her father’s techniques while incorporating her own creative ideas. Her ukiyo-e works, like Night Cherry Beauty, remain influential today, and her art has been reinterpreted by others. The ukiyo-e style, which originated in Japan, became widely acknowledged and passed down globally, with many artists embracing it.
In this period, the lack of women in traditional art historical scholarship will lead to the prejudicial treatment (Goodpasture. E.2022). It was difficult for women to have a direct voice in those times, so they had to speak out through their artwork. Such a move, while improving the status of women, also made a significant contribution to the development of the arts. It was difficult for society to see the situation of the different classes of women at that time directly with their eyes because of the prejudicial treatment, and men in the higher classes did not make a point of understanding it, but works of art circulated easily among the different classes, and this gave society a chance to understand it.
From the article of The Female Nude: Art, Obscenity, and Sexuality (Lynda Mead synopsis) we can know that, compared to the male body, the female body is visually more curvaceous and softer. Their silhouette, skin texture and elegant posture provide artists with a rich source of creative material and inspiration. The softness and elegance of women's bodies make them visually appealing in works of art, and thus they become the objects of artists' competition.
From 2012 to 2014, the issue of sexism and diversity in digital gaming culture came to the forefront of public attention, especially with outbreaks such as Gamergate, where the topics of gender and diversity sparked widespread discussion. During this period, feminists and supporters began criticizing gender stereotypes in games and calling for more inclusive content, such as diverse characters and stories. At the same time, some gamers and developers objected to this, arguing that these changes were too political or detracted from the nature of gaming. Game companies have also begun to emphasize diversity in their marketing, although sometimes this has been criticized as superficial. Overall, the debate reflects whether the culture of the games industry should change to promote more socially inclusive values.(Becky Chambers 2012; Jennifer deWinter and Carly Kocurek, 2012). It's easy to see from the article that people have begun to pay a lot of attention to the issues related to women in the digital games. In the art market, the audience's needs and preferences have an important influence on the creative direction of artists. As the female figure has a high degree of popularity in art works, artists are more inclined to create female-themed body art works to meet the needs of the market and the audience. This market demand in turn further consolidates the dominant position of women in different types of art.
After reading the article of On Women Creators: Exploring the Impact & Influence of Women in the Arts, I found that women also pioneer the modern arts(2024). Even though the female figure dominates body art, artists continue to explore and innovate. They try to represent the female body through different angles, techniques and styles to reveal its unique charm and connotation. At the same time, this exploration and innovation has also promoted the development and progress of body art. Their works not only link nature and abstraction, but also give the viewer a sense of “shock that it takes time to look” at things they are oblivious to in their daily lives, through close focus and unique perspectives.
The widespread recognition of the work of female artists has accelerated as they continue to produce works that complicate and challenge our understandings of gender, identity, empowerment, and expression.(Women and Art) With the progress of society and the evolution of aesthetic concepts, the status of female artists in the field of modern art has gradually increased. Through their continuous efforts and innovations, they have brought to the art world a rich variety of creative styles and profound topics for reflection.
From the analysis on IGN, I can find that the number of female characters increased a lot, they are sexualized but capable(张梦霞, 2024). Hyperreal gameplay helps to differentiate and diversify female characters, character design should prioritize narrative and character development. The gaming industry should aim for greater gender equality, creating characters that reflect diverse personalities and strengths. This would encourage positive gender attitudes and self-concept among players. Game manufacturers should focus more on designing better characters to make players feel emotional while playing the game rather than changing the character's settings to be gender correct.
The journal which wrote by Sergey Snegiev analysed the changes in the video game industry regarding character design, especially the portrayal of female characters and the progress in gender inclusivity (March, 2024). Positive changes have happened in the digital game industry, particularly regarding female character design and gender equality. From the past prevalence of sexualized portrayals to the increasing focus on realistic and respectful representations, the industry is moving toward a more balanced approach to character creation. The inclusion of transgender characters and LGBTQ+ themes also signifies a broader cultural shift in gaming toward diversity and inclusivity. However, there is still work to be done in challenging traditional gender norms and creating even more diverse and empowering characters. The future of gaming holds potential for further breaking down stereotypes and offering more inclusive, multifaceted representations of gender and identity. Embracing Tradition and Technology:
Muslim Embroidery Designs for Modern Embroidery Machines
In the world of textiles and fashion, few art forms capture the essence of cultural heritage quite like Muslim embroidery. With its intricate patterns, meaningful symbolism, and rich history, Islamic embroidery has long been a cornerstone of artistic expression in Muslim communities worldwide. Today, we're excited to announce a fusion of this time-honored craft with cutting-edge technology: a new collection of Muslim embroidery designs specifically created for modern embroidery machines.
The Rich Heritage of Muslim Embroidery
Before we delve into the exciting possibilities that embroidery machines bring to this art form, let's take a moment to appreciate the deep-rooted tradition of Muslim embroidery. Islamic embroidery has a history spanning over a thousand years, with origins tracing back to the early days of Islam. This art form has evolved across different regions, each developing its unique styles and techniques. From the delicate Suzani work of Central Asia to the bold geometric patterns of Morocco, Muslim embroidery encompasses a vast array of designs and methods. Traditionally, Muslim embroidery served multiple purposes: - Aesthetic beauty: Adorning clothing, home decor, and religious items with intricate designs. - Symbolic representation: Incorporating motifs with deep spiritual and cultural significance. - Storytelling: Preserving historical events and cultural narratives through textile art. - Economic empowerment: Providing a source of income for skilled artisans, particularly women. The patterns and motifs used in Islamic embroidery are not merely decorative; they often carry profound meanings. Geometric shapes represent the order and harmony of the universe, while floral designs symbolize paradise. Calligraphy, a revered art form in Islam, is frequently incorporated to showcase verses from the Quran or poetic expressions. Bringing Tradition into the Digital Age As we honor this rich heritage, we also recognize the opportunities that modern technology offers to preserve and expand this beautiful art form. Enter the world of computerized embroidery machines – a game-changer for artisans and enthusiasts alike. Our new collection of Muslim embroidery designs for embroidery machines bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary technology. Here's why this development is so exciting: - Precision and Consistency: Embroidery machines can reproduce complex designs with remarkable accuracy, ensuring that even the most intricate patterns are rendered flawlessly. - Time-Efficiency: What once took days or weeks to embroider by hand can now be completed in hours, allowing for greater productivity without compromising on quality. - Accessibility: These digitized designs make it possible for more people to engage with and appreciate Muslim embroidery, even if they don't possess traditional hand-embroidery skills. - Customization: Digital designs can be easily scaled, color-adjusted, or combined, offering unprecedented flexibility in creating personalized pieces. - Preservation of Traditional Patterns: By digitizing classic motifs and designs, we're ensuring that these cultural treasures are preserved for future generations. Originally hailing from Japan, this iconic robe has captivated the hearts of fashion enthusiasts around the globe. Lusstee is proud to present an exquisite collection of women’s kimono robes, each piece a testament to the artistry and heritage of this traditional attire. This article delves into the beauty, history, and versatility of kimonos, and why Lusstee's collection stands out in offering an authentic and luxurious experience.
The Rich History of Kimonos The kimono has a storied past, dating back over a thousand years. The word "kimono" literally means "thing to wear," and its history is deeply intertwined with the cultural and social developments of Japan. The Heian period (794-1185) saw the first emergence of what we now recognize as the Women's kimono robes for sale, characterized by their straight-line cuts and wide sleeves. Over centuries, the kimono evolved, reflecting the changing tastes and technologies of each era.
During the Edo period (1603-1868), kimonos became more elaborate, with intricate patterns and luxurious fabrics indicating the wearer's social status and personal wealth. The Meiji Restoration (1868-1912) brought significant changes as Japan opened up to the West, influencing kimono designs with elements from Western fashion. Despite these changes, the kimono has retained its quintessential Japanese essence, symbolizing grace, beauty, and tradition.
The Artistry Behind Kimono Design Each kimono is a masterpiece, crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The process of creating a kimono involves several stages, starting with the selection of high-quality fabrics. Traditional kimonos are often made from silk, though modern variations can be found in cotton, wool, and synthetic fabrics.
The patterns on kimonos hold significant meaning, often reflecting nature, seasons, and auspicious symbols. For instance, cherry blossoms represent spring and renewal, while cranes symbolize longevity and good fortune. The colors also carry specific connotations: red for joy, white for purity, and black for formality. The artistry extends to the weaving techniques, such as brocade and ikat, which add texture and depth to the fabric.
Lusstee's Exquisite Collection Lusstee's collection of women’s kimono robes celebrates this rich heritage while offering modern-day wearability. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to honor traditional craftsmanship while incorporating contemporary aesthetics. Here’s a glimpse into what makes Lusstee's kimonos truly exceptional:

For Special Occasions Wear your kimono robe as a statement piece for weddings, parties, or other special events. Opt for a robe with bold patterns and rich colors, and accessorize with simple jewelry to let the kimono shine. High heels and a sleek clutch complete the look, exuding sophistication and grace.
Caring for Your Kimono To ensure your kimono remains in pristine condition, it’s essential to follow proper care instructions. Silk kimonos should be dry-cleaned to preserve their delicate fibers and vibrant colors. For cotton or synthetic kimonos, gentle hand washing or using a delicate cycle on your washing machine is recommended. India, a land of diverse cultures, breathtaking landscapes, and a rich tapestry of history, beckons travelers from around the world. The Golden Triangle Tour, a 5-days expedition that captures the spirit of India's history, is one of the most famous travel experiences in this vibrant nation. This blog article explores the dynamic cities of Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur—three jewels in the crown of India—as we venture into the enchanted world of the Golden Triangle.
Day 1: Delhi - Where Tradition Meets Modernity
The Golden Triangle Tour begins in Delhi, the nation's capital and a city that skillfully combines modernity and heritage. Visit the historic Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site that formerly served as the residence of the powerful Mughal rulers, to start your adventure. Admire its striking architecture, which features walls made of red sandstone and elaborate carvings that narrate stories from a bygone era.
Next on the agenda is the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. You feel the spiritual aura that permeates this holy place as you stand in the courtyard, surrounded by towering minarets with the sound of the call to prayer echoing through the air.
In the afternoon, explore the bustling and chaotic appeal of Chandni Chowk, one of Delhi's busiest and oldest markets. Enjoy the colorful mosaic of Indian life by meandering through little streets lined with stores offering street food, textiles, and spices.
Cap off your day with a visit to India Gate, a famous military memorial that honors the men who gave their lives fighting for their country during World War I. Your first day on the Golden Triangle Tour is perfectly capped off by the captivating beauty of the evening lights.
Day 2: Agra - The Epitome of Love
Travel early in the morning to Agra, the location of the iconic Taj Mahal. Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned this marble masterpiece, now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, as a tribute to his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It stands as a symbol of eternal love.
The Taj Mahal has an otherworldly feeling as you approach it, with its white domes and delicate details emerging from the mist. Explore the gardens, the reflecting pool, and the mausoleum at your leisure, taking in the architectural wonder that has captured people's attention for generations.
Next, the Agra Fort, which was the Mughal monarchs' primary residence and is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Discover the fort's gardens, courtyards, and palaces - each telling a story of grandeur and strength.
When the day is almost finished, locate a good spot to see the Yamuna River sunset, which will turn the Taj Mahal golden. It is a truly beautiful event that will always be a part of your Golden Triangle Tour.
Day 3: Jaipur - The Pink City's Royal Splendor
Leave Agra behind and travel to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan with a thriving arts and cultural scene and a rich royal past. As soon as you arrive, you will notice that the city is distinctly pink. This is because, in the past, the buildings were painted pink to prepare for a royal visit.
Start your tour of Jaipur by going to the magnificent Amber Fort, which is perched atop a hill. Admire the elaborate design, which includes the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), which is covered in millions of tiny mirrors that give the building a sparkling effect.
In the afternoon, explore the expansive City Palace complex, which includes gardens, courtyards, and museums. The architecture exhibits a smooth fusion of Mughal, Rajput, and European styles, offering an insight into the diverse cultural fusion of Jaipur.
A trip to Jaipur would not be complete without a stop at the Palace of the Winds, or Hawa Mahal. With its unique exterior of honeycombs, this historic building gave royal women seclusion while allowing them to see street festivities. Seize the spirit of Jaipur's regal history as the sun sets and warm hues fill the city.
Day 4: Jaipur - A Journey into Rajasthan's Artistry
On your second day in the Pink City, explore Jaipur's cultural gems in greater detail. Start at the 18th-century astronomical observatory, Jantar Mantar. Admire the instruments' accuracy, each one created for a particular celestial observation and demonstrating the state-of-the-art scientific understanding at the time.
Next, explore the opulent Albert Hall Museum, which is home to a sizable collection of antiques that includes paintings, sculptures, and fabrics. Explore the halls of the museum to learn more about Rajasthan's rich creative past.
For a taste of Jaipur's vibrant local markets, head to Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar. Indulge in shopping for traditional jewelry, fabrics, and handicrafts that each tell a tale of Rajasthan's talented artisans.
In the evening, experience the magic of a traditional Rajasthani dinner, complete with folk music and dance performances. Experience the region's rich cultural diversity while relishing regional specialties and the welcoming warmth that characterizes Rajasthan.
Day 5: Farewell to the Golden Triangle Tour
On the last day of your Golden Triangle Tour, return to Delhi after saying goodbye to Jaipur. Before concluding your journey, Visit the Lotus Temple, a Bahá'í House of Worship distinguished by its unique lotus-shaped architecture. Enjoy some quiet time for introspection and tranquility in this secluded area of spiritual retreat.
As you reflect on the past five days, you'll realize that the Golden Triangle Tour is not just a travel itinerary; It is an exploration of history, culture, and the vivid legacy of India. Every place you see, from the vibrant streets of Delhi to the timeless splendor of Jaipur and the Taj Mahal, leaves a lasting impression on your spirit. The Golden Triangle Tour is a testament to India's ability to seamlessly blend the old and the new, the traditional and the modern. Travelers from all over the world are captivated and inspired by this voyage that cuts beyond geographical boundaries and provides an intimate look into the heart and spirit of a country.

Jacob Meets Esau. "From Parsha Vayishlach: "Salvation."
33 Jacob looked up and there was Esau, coming with his four hundred men; so he divided the children among Leah, Rachel and the two female servants. 2 He put the female servants and their children in front, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph in the rear. 3 He himself went on ahead and bowed down to the ground seven times as he approached his brother.
Bowing Seven Times= Seven days of evolution that must take place before the follower can aspire becoming the leader.
"The Follower saw the Hairy One coming with an Evil Eye. He did as the Torah commanded and put children in front, then came the virgins then beauty, and from this results fruitfulness, which results from the submission of the younger self to the interests of the elder."
4 But Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they wept. 5 Then Esau looked up and saw the women and children. “Who are these with you?” he asked.
Jacob answered, “They are the children God has graciously given your servant.”- a glimpse into the future fruits of the actions the younger self will give the older one.
6 Then the female servants and their children approached and bowed down. 7 Next, Leah and her children came and bowed down. Last of all came Joseph and Rachel, and they too bowed down.
8 Esau asked, “What’s the meaning of all these flocks and herds I met?”
“To find favor in your eyes, my lord,” he said.
9 But Esau said, “I already have plenty, my brother. Keep what you have for yourself.”
10 “No, please!” said Jacob. “If I have found favor in your eyes, accept this gift from me. For to see your face is like seeing the face of God, now that you have received me favorably. 11 Please accept the present that was brought to you, for God has been gracious to me and I have all I need.” And because Jacob insisted, Esau accepted it.
=More evidence those in senior positions will adapt to the innovations needed to conserve the world's resources for future generations. When we bow to the Seven Deadly Cows instead of the Seven Days, the process reverses and there is loss of life. Each flock has to recognize the type of Day they are having.
My father’s flock dealt with Vietnam and a fear of gas prices if not empty gas tanks, deep recessions and fear of being nuked by the Russians. They built a culture commensurate with their fear and insecurity.
There were enemies everywhere and they were real. My flock is afraid for its inner life, not the outer one like my father.
The generation after mine had to worry about the US war against Islam, climate change, the coronavirus, and an uncaring, aimless, sarcastic and narcissistic congress and White House...
All of this visits the sins of the fathers on the sons or the brother on his siblings is forbidden by the Torah...
12 Then Esau said, “Let us be on our way; I’ll accompany you.”
13 But Jacob said to him, “My lord knows that the children are tender and that I must care for the ewes and cows that are nursing their young. If they are driven hard just one day, all the animals will die. [reference to the tendon thing from climbing too hard for too long] 14 So let my lord go on ahead of his servant, while I move along slowly at the pace of the flocks and herds before me and the pace of the children, until I come to my lord in Seir [the hairy place].”
15 Esau said, “Then let me leave some of my men with you.”
“But why do that?” Jacob asked. “Just let me find favor in the eyes of my lord.”
16 So that day Esau started on his way back to Seir [the hairy place- his role as a servant to the future generation]. 17 Jacob, however, went to Sukkoth [booths], where he built a place for himself and made shelters for his livestock. That is why the place is called Sukkoth.[g]
=The Psalmist famously connected this verb "sukkoth" "to build a booth" to the formation of a human fetus (Psalm 139:13), but it also obviously links to human culture and science and technology at large.
Instead of implying Jacob made a baby, this means his struggle with God left him with his livestock, little baby Adams or "commitments". These he fulfills in the text the follows as indicated by his transactions with the Red Ones:
18 After Jacob came from Paddan Aram [the ultimate substitutions],[h] he arrived safely at the city of Shechem [as if it were a mountain] in Canaan and camped within sight of the city.
19 For a hundred pieces of silver,[i] he bought from the sons of Hamor [the red one] the skills that result from religious oaths], the father of Shechem, the plot of ground where he pitched his tent. 20 There he set up an altar and called it El Elohe Israel.[j]
= El Elohe Israel is the Temple of the God of Israel. Tents are where human soul struggles against nature for survival. Where a tent is pitched matters.

It is a day to celebrate women's empowerment and to advocate for gender equality. Dolce Valentina Jewelry is proud to be part of this celebration and recognizes the importance of empowering women through the products we offer.
Women have come a long way in terms of gaining equal rights and opportunities in the workplace, politics, and society in general. However, there is still much work to be done in terms of achieving true gender equality. Women still face challenges such as gender-based violence, unequal pay, lack of access to education, and underrepresentation in leadership roles. This is why International Women's Day is so important; it serves as a reminder of the progress made and the work still to be done.
At Dolce Valentina Jewelry, we believe that every woman deserves to feel empowered and beautiful. We offer a wide range of jewelry that is perfect for any occasion, from casual everyday wear to formal events. In conclusion, International Women’s Day is a day to celebrate women's achievements, but it is also a reminder that there is still much work to be done. At Dolce Valentina Jewelry, we are committed to empowering women through the products we offer and the partnerships we form. We believe that by supporting and uplifting women, we can create a world where every woman is empowered to reach her full potential. Happy International Women's Day!

We are inspired by women who have overcome adversity and achieved great things, and we strive to be a part of that legacy by empowering women through our products and partnerships.
Lastly, we would like to call for continued action towards gender equality. While progress has been made, there is still much work to be done. We encourage everyone to take action towards gender equality in their own way, whether it’s through supporting women-owned businesses, advocating for equal pay, or volunteering with organizations that support women's empowerment.
On this International Women’s Day, let us celebrate the achievements of women and commit to continued action towards gender equality. Dolce Valentina Jewelry is proud to be a part of this celebration and we look forward to empowering women through our products and partnerships in the years to come.
