Now Watching: DC's Tomorrowverse!
Would you believe that my other DC universe movie list is one of my better posts? Totally a DC girl, sorry not sorry Marvel. My movie partner let me know that DC was going to start a new universe of movies, so you know I had to jump in and keep up with it!
Link: Tomorrowverse - Wikipedia. Here is your list in order! I will keep this posted updated as movies come out!
Superman: Man of Tomorrow (2020)
This to me is very indicative of them rebooting the alternative universe but also making the heroes younger. Appealing to a younger audience? Not a bad movie.
Justice Society: World War II (2021)
You know in every universe you have to have Flash mess with the timeline to act as the introduction to the superhero group. It is a nice flashback to the past, and honestly I wish the random characters like Black Canary would get their own movie, they are great! Good movie.
Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1 (2021)
I watched this movie before but I rewatched it again as a proper order in the universe. So, this movie, as far as the tomorrowverse would go-introduces batman, gotham city, and all that it entails. The almost "alternative mood" and different animation style makes sense in universe.
Batman: The Long Halloween Part 2 (2021)
I watched this movie before but I rewatched it again as a proper order in the universe. This one finishes part 1. It establishes the proper placement for a lot of the major characters in this series. My next guess, or question, would be...when does batman get roped into the group?
Green Lantern: Beware My Power (2022)
This establishes a new Green Lantern to the group and starts to focus less on the players, more on the team. Not a bad movie.
Legion of Super-Heroes (2023)
This movie is interesting in the fact that it establishes a future point within the universe and has it play as part of the story. You also don't tend to see a lot of super girl, but the DC universes are always a little "superman and company" forward.
Justice League: War World (2023)
This was probably my favorite out of all of the movies. I was kind of wondering when you would start to have some bigger game picture plot come into play. Besides being the classic core of the group, excellent movie. Sets up for a great next film.
This, compared to the other universe, is young and still being added to. As new movies get added, I will update this post! Have you caught up yet? Which movie is your favorite?

A brief recap of all recent Dick-related news ⏬
▶️ Announced Batman The Long Halloween: The Last Halloween, a ten parts sequel to both Batman: The Long Halloween and Batman: Dark Victory, by writer Jeph Loeb and a cast of rotating artists such as Klaus Janson, Mark Chiarello and other unnamed ones.
Here’s the summary:
“Gotham City learns to fear Halloween once more as a terrible event threatens to destroy Jim Gordon’s life and puts Batman and Robin’s teamwork to the test more than ever before. In a city of liars, masked vigilantes, and criminals…can anyone be trusted?”
▶️ According to Mark Waid, Dick will be one of the major characters in the upcoming Absolute Power event and the leader of the resistance. Other characters confirmed to be prominent or have spotlight moments are the leaguers, Dreamer and Jon Kent. Less prominent characters are hinted to play important roles too, but have yet to be named. Absolute Power #1 will be released on July 2.
I highly recommend all Nightwing fans to give the event a chance, not only for Waid and Mora’s brilliant partnership and for potential big changes coming, but because of how good Waid is at writing Dick in particular; he has Dick’s voice to a T, and core knowledge of the character, on top of being a good writer.
Batfamily fans might want to check it out too, Bruce will obviously be an important character in the event. Tim, Damian and Jason have all been spotted in some of the covers, and while we don't know the extent of their involvement, Damian has been seen in the trailer of Absolute Power with Bruce and will have a team up with Diana in Wonder Woman #12, which ties into the event. Tim seems to be a part of Dick’s team in Absolute Power: Task Force VII #4 too.
#dc comics#dick grayson#nightwing#bruce wayne#batman#damian wayne#robin#tim drake#jason todd#batfamily#I’m tagging the other robins + bruce because of the absolute power part involving them

Halloween prompts year 2 day 16
The bats had a plan. They knew Deathstroke had some wierd fixation on Nightwing and were going to use that to reel him in.
So Nightwing and the batfam staged a fight so big that when Batman disowned him it seemed legit and Nightwing disappeared not long after.
The bats were worried but they knew Dick could handle himself and that Deathstroke was an enemy he was familiar with so they just needed to trust him. That trust fell apart when they found out Deathstroke never encountered Nightwing as intended and the plan was never activated in the first place.
No one knew where Dick was. No one knew who had him, and someone had to have him or else he would have turned up by now or sent them a coded message, something!
But nope. All of his friends and family were left to worry about him and wonder...
---
Dick loved his little brother. He was funny and loved to make jokes and puns with him. He still had a lot to learn about gymnastics though. Dick wasn't sure why he loved it so much, it just felt like it was part of him somehow. Danny always got a look on his face Dick himself couldn't identify when he talked about it.
Maybe it was one of his missing memories? Danny had told him all about Dicks accident. Appearently thier parents, sister, and godfather had all died in it, leaving Dick Fenton with custody of Danny as the oldest sibling.
Something about those last two words seemed to tickle something in his brain...but it was soothed just by glancing at Danny across the diner table. Looking at Danny always made the wierd sensation disappear, like dark clouds being blown away to reveal the sun. Wasnt it wierd that his eyes always sought out Danny when the feeling starts?
Anyway, the accident didn't take his life, but it did take Dicks memories. He didn't remember much of his life before Danny dragged him out of the rubble but he knew he loved his mom, dad and little siblings.
Everything was fine in thier little household of two. Now he just needed to snoop around thier house for a bit to help him remember things
To find the truth
-------
Aka Danny, lonely and desperate after his family and friends died in an accident. He accidentally traveled to another dimension while wandering the zone in an attempt to get away for a while and witnessed what some random wierdo in a fursuit said to his...son? Apprentice? After seeing the fight Danny has a mental break and kidnaps Nightwing thinking no one would go looking for him.
Danny erases Dicks memories along with the citizens of Amity Park and brainwashed everyone to live out his fantasy of a safe home and loving family.
Too bad Dicks detective training is so deeply ingrained and that he has countless friends who won't stop looking until they find him

I have been sitting on these for a long time because I wanted to have some more varied stuff but I haven't had time to write anything! So here's what I've got! Honestly these are some of my favorites
[part 1] [part 2] [part 3] [part 4] [part 5] [part 6]
- Whenever he's kicked out of an area or event, Oswald proceeds to start shoving anything not taped down into his pockets. He doesn't need the stuff, he just likes to be petty and ruin it for everyone else
- Bane has done a series of infomercials for various products & services that only air on late night product channels. Alfred is the only batfamily member who knows, he was doing laundry late one night and nearly lost it
- Mr Freeze writes restaurants/companies when they wrong him. Like nice formal letters, signing them and everything
- The Joker has an imdb page. Actually a lot of the villains do but like the Joker has one he updates with fun facts. Who says they're accurate but they sure are fun
- Riddler freaking hates puppets. Their soulless eyes say it all. He refuses to or "work" with puppets. That being said, Scarecrow has chased him around with Scarface once or twice "for science"
- Scarecrow has and still does write letters of recommendation for his ex students. He freaking still has Gotham University letterhead paper and everything. Honestly some of his students have gotten the job from his letter alone (maybe it's out of fear but like it's still a win), and they 100% send Jonathan thank you gifts in Arkham. He's got one of those dorky teacher scrapbooks where he keeps the thank you letters. One of his students even crocheted him a little plush scarecrow. It's like, they don't love his crimes but you know that was ol kooky professor Crane for ya
- Harvey kind of has a soft spot for sitcoms, he used to watch them with his mom growing up. One of their favorites, ironically, was night court
- Bane has a famous chili recipe and he makes one batch a year. It's fucking delicious! He makes an edition with meat and a vegetarian version too. Of course consults Ivy for home grown excellent quality vegetables and she gets first dibs in return
- the Joker has not one but TWO released albums. One is essentially a mash up of all the serenades he's made Batman listen to over the years and the other one is called "The Holidays with the Joker: Christmas selects edition"
- Scarecrow's car is a mess. He's got a work truck of course but his main car is like a wood panel sedan that he's been driving since he was a professor and refuses to get a new one. It's a fucking mess, he has like clothes, papers, garbage all over the place. He still has term papers he forgot to grade under the seats. Riddler HATES his car, with a passion
- Riddler has gone through the pain and suffering to teach all the rogues how to use discord, he had once hoped it would make their crimes more efficient. They have a group chat but it's mostly suffering on his end as all chaos ensues
- Scarecrow owns a Halloween train village he has set up in one of his lairs. It plays instrumental versions of Halloween songs as it goes around the track
- Joker will push open cups off of tables because he can. He's got the chaotic energy of a cat awake at 3 am
- Riddler and Scarecrow's friendship starts like super formal and co worker like but after like a year and a half, evolves into a weird symbiosis. Jonathan points at random ass objects or books and goes "you" when he's with Edward. Eddie has a habit of fixing or picking debris of Jonathan, usually when they're crimeing. Also one time, they were both startled so bad by Batman that Scarecrow jumped into riddler's arms like Scooby & shaggy, except they both held onto each other for a second before toppling over. Robin then unmasked them like scooby doo
- Harley & Ivy are frequent Panera customers and often get pick up orders there under "codenames" given by Harley. All the workers know who "Plantmamma" and "the quinnanator" are but like they tip great and everyone should get to enjoy soup
- Bane has one CD in his car, it's a 2010 greatest hits CD that someone accidentally left in there. Who you ask? He has no idea
- Harley has a getaway playlist preloaded in her phone for car chases
- Riddler and Scarecrow watch reality tv/game shows together. They binged all of survivor and the amazing race in a year. It was a joke at first but they both got really into the shows. They have both applied to be on amazing race together and unfortunately haven't been called back
- Joker still uses cassettes (and vinyls probably) except he mixes them himself and labels them all stupid titles like "Birthday bash #9", "Baty's mix", "what's the deal with airplane food?", "etc". But he also has a tape recorder and makes notes to himself and labels those ones too, so he gets his personal notes mixed up with his music jams all the time. He goes to put on some epic clown music and instead it's a twenty minute recording he made of himself eating fruit loops

Saying that I hate Nolan's Batman in a room full of man just to feel something
But here's a random list of my rating of different Batman that nobody asked because I love giving my opinion
The Dark Knight Trilogy: Solid Batman, hate the Bruce Wayne. Brucie, the public persona, is supposed to be a bimbo that cares for the city, not a rude arrogant prick that sinks the Wayne name. It completely butchered his relationship with Harvey too for... *checks notes* Rachel? Nahhh 2/10, a male fantasy movie but it gets one point for showing his training years and another for some cool one-liners
The Batman (2022) – I love the movie and that's top Batman to me, especially the last scene. Batman is a symbol of hope, compassion. I had the same problem as the Nolan's one for the larger portion of the movie: instead of using the Wayne Inc. to do good, he doesn't care about his parent's heirloom and drowns into being Batman. HOWEVER, it's pretty clear how raw and wounded he still is, and after the whole Riddler deal, I can see him turning this around and doing good as Bruce Wayne too. My fav live action movie but it gets a 8.5/10 on characterization
The Long Halloween, Comic – classic Batman, I like his personality and how he lets Batman and Bruce work together to do better to the city. A inspiration for the 2022 movie too. 9/10
The Long Halloween, Tomorrowverse – butchered the storyline and I shit you not Bruce says "I never thought I would need to do detective work to be Batman". Made him all muscle and no brain. Cool art but it doesn't even get a point for it, couldn't bring myself to watch more than 20 minutes of the part two. I kinda liked how he acts with Selina though. Yet, keeps it at -10/0
The Arkham Games – I watched the Arkham Knight gameplay like it was a movie and then watched scenes from other games on yt. That's the ideal way Batman operates to me. Thing dreams are made of. Also balanced on his public facade. 9/10
Batman The Animated Series, Timmverse – can't ask for better. Always offering rehabilitation to villains? Showing empathy for freeze and ivy and Harley!? and his friendship with Harvey? 10/10
Justice League: Unlimited – The timmverse gets him right and I love to notice how he progressed as a character. Love how they write Bruce's friendship with Clark and true partnership with other Leaguers. Also love his relationship with Diana, wonderbat forever. 10/10
Batman, Tv animation (2004) – The story is tailored to be palatable to kids so they changed some elements. It's fun to watch tho, 7/10
Batman Vs. Superman – guilt-ridden, PTSD older Batman? Pretty solid on the premise and I could see any Batman acting that way with enough groundwork. I just don't like the whole marking criminal and sending them to prison to die. Bruce wouldn't, doesn't matter how grief stricken he is. 8.8/10
Gotham (Tv Series) – Eh. Young chaotic Bruce. The focus of the series is on the villains and I didn't even pay too much attention to him tbh. I love a disaster teenager Bruce tho, 7.6/10
Young Justice – Gets points for bonding with Dick earlier in the series and for later showing him operating with a larger Batfam. Also accurate on the way Batman operates. He would leave the League because he's not about being part of a society or the status that come with it. The League had a purpose, which was facilitating saving people. Than he couldn't save people with it? He left. 9/10
Superhero Girls – exploring him being Kardashian-level celebrity?? Hilarious. But I don't like the other implications the show makes about him as Batman. 3/10
The Killing Joke, animated movie – something about how he acts throws me off. Older Batman but done badly. I think they don't work enough to drive him to murder. Should have left him kill Joker when Jason died. 2/10
Ninja Batman – The writers had LSD to write it. Insane. Hilarious. Didn't like that he was "oooh I don't have tech what will I do? :(" Batman is a survivalist so be for real. 4/10
Year Zero (comic) – hate that buzz cut. He wouldn't. Otherwise solid. Also another inspo to 2022 movie. 6/10
Year One (comic) – classic backstory, can't ask for anything else on personality matter. The fact he hallucinated a bat while he was concussed and thus made himself Batman because he thought it was rad? Peak characterization. 10/10
Harleen (comic) – He's not the focus of the story but I do love when they show how much sheer power the Wayne name carries. He has a steady hand over Gotham, a background influence constant and unwavering. Also that dialogue on the end where he's blaming himself for everything that happened even though it's not his fault? Yeah, it tracks. 9/10
Turning Points (comic) – the way he acts... He's such a theater kid. Also accurate on how Robin happened and I love he doesn't try to fight Gordon but humbly accepts Jim is going to hunt him if something happens to Robin. 9/10
There's a black and white one shot comic that Dan Mora made that I can't rember the name but?? Bruce adopting Jason, Dick and Tim in one go?? Can't go wrong for me. I am also not immune to how Mr. Mora draws Bruce. 100/10
The goal of this year is to watch more timmverse and read more comics with the batkids
#batman#batfam#dcau#dcu#dc universe#dceu#me!batman#me!batfam#i will updated when after consuming more media

Angels and Demons (Halloween Special) Part 2/3: Justice League Dark x Magician!Reader
Synopsis: With Batman gone with Constantine and Zatanna, Vivian is left in Gotham, alone and vulnerable as the darkness creeps closer. Will the Justice League Dark come back just in time before she's taken by the darkness?
~ Hours Earlier ~
Ritchie Simpson is a dying man.
If the Shrouds were not a dead-giveaway – as Boston Brand told him of the presence at the man’s front door – then it was the sight of him skinny and sickly. Vivian told him that Ritchie got the cancer from their last encounter decades ago, during that night that had her turn away from dark magic. It was a surprise to see him alive still. Magic, maybe, he thought, trying hard to find logic in this case.
He tried to make sense with magic, but still how Vivian makes it seem logical was beyond his understanding sometimes.
“It’s like science, Bruce,” Vivian laughed when she tried to explain to him some cold case decades ago which she said involved magic. “Even magic has limits and traces, and strings that brings you to the truth. But only those who know how to use it and find it can find the answers.”
Bruce sighed then and told her, “I love you, you know that, but I really, really can’t,” he laughed at their long attempt of him trying to figure out how the cold case happened and was solved by magic users – not officially, but everyone in the magical realm seams to know what happened in that particular case.
Vivian laid beside him on the floor where they’ve created the murder map and told him, “The Batman’s gotta have some things he doesn’t know. Nothing to be ashamed of with that.”
“I know,” Bruce turned to her and just took in the sight of her beautiful face with her cheek squished against her arm, her brown eyes looking at him lovingly, and her auburn hair sprawled above her like fire. “But magic isn’t always the answer to these cases, though.”
“No, it’s not. The criminally insane doesn’t need magic as an excuse,” she shrugged. “Even I sometimes forget about it and jump to your science.”
How he wished that were the case now. But this case showed no sign of there being any science or logic. Everything that was happening had puppeteers pulling the magical strings. The question is: who?
Entering the home of Ritchie Simpson, the first thing that caught his eye was the photo on the mantle. A group of teenagers posing for the camera. There were two guys in the photo, one he guessed was Ritchie, and then at the farther right was a young woman with red hair, wearing a red coat over the jeans and some rock-band t-shirt. Vivian. Then beside her with an arm around her shoulder was John. It was obvious with the blond hair and the arrogant look on his face.
“You poor thing,” Zatanna held Ritchie’s cheek.
“The last time we talked, well things were going downhill. Sorry about that,” Ritchie said. “Remember this, Johnny?” Ritchie gestured to the photo.
“Hard to forget,” John muttered.
“Did you know little Vivian is now married to this billionaire in Gotham, Bruce Wayne? The little spit-fire is moving up in the world, huh?” Ritchie chuckled.
“Aye, heard about it, read it. Has she reached out to you, though?”
“Nah… I think that really was the last time, but she did send me this one.” Ritchie showed Vivian’s first book and a note written at the front saying: I’m sorry. “Then that’s it. She didn’t even have a return address to it. When she said she’s never wanting to see us, she meant it, didn’t she?”
“Right…” John glanced at Batman and saw the vigilante’s intense stare at him.
Ritchie sighed. “This means a lot to me, John. And hey, you don’t have to say it… I forgive you… I’m still wondering what Batman’s doing in my living room… when’s he gonna shut up? Right?” He laughed. “What, what’s with the face? You’re not here to apologize are you?”
“Of course, I am… but I also wanted to borrow the Kishanti Key as well,” John admitted.
“Unbelievable.”
“I tried to tell him that this was a bad idea,” said Zatanna.
“It’s not your fault, Zee. Just like everything, this was rockstar-Johnny’s fault!”
“I was with you when it happened, Ritchie. We were there, side by side,” said John.
“Side my side,” Ritchie scoffed. “But I got the weird magical cancer, and you – you added it to your rep. Ain’t that right?”
“Me making proper amends isn’t related to the Key. Which, believe me, you’re not going to need, mate.”
“John!” Zatanna scolded him.
Pissed, Ritchie punched John across the face but fell off balance. Batman was fast enough to catch him and help the man to his feet. Ritchie pushed him away and sneered at John, telling him that he wasn’t giving him anything nor was he going to help. But Batman intervened, telling him how important it was that they get the key.
“Well, the Doctor said that an upbeat attitude can help. So, what I’ll focus on today is that I met Batman! Force of good! It was also nice seeing you, Zatanna… and before you go, little Vivian Pryor is now a big shot in Gotham. Mind telling her a good friend says hi?”
Batman nodded stiffly. “I’ll make sure it gets to her. Thank you.”
~ * ~
It was a bit late, and Vivian was still in the university. She stayed for a while, wanting to finish some papers that needed grading and prepare the lecture notes for a museum’s event. They wanted her to give a lecture on Dante, one of her known fields of expertise as she too studied the symbols within the Divine Comedy.
“Trick or treat!”
Vivian jumped at the voice that greeted her. At the door, she saw Tim and Damian out of their school uniform and into more comfortable clothes, and with them was Alfred who probably drove the car to pick her up. Tim had a grin as he held up the pumping-bucket.
“A little jumpy today, Viv?” Tim teased.
“A little,” she opened her arm for Damian and lets the boy stand close to her as she wrapped him in an embrace. “God, I need this. Human contact — working here late in Halloween, not the best combo. Everyone’s gone home to go trick or treating or to go to a party.”
“Then may I suggest we also head home so we can have a short celebration before the boys start their extracurricular activities?” Alfred said. “I have prepared the theater in the Manor. Master Jason suggested The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
While Tim and Damian groaned in displeasure, Vivian laughed. It was a tradition of theirs to watch that movie during Halloween. Jason claimed that even when he wasn’t with her he’d watch the film on his own while eating candy. Roy doesn’t seem to mind the movie and just watches it with him.
“We can watch something else,”’ Vivian reassured them. “We’ll ask Dick to draw lots of our favorite movies,” she added when Damian and Tim were about to give their suggestion. “Come on, let’s head home,” she grabbed her bag and turned off the lamp on her desk. “I’ll drive us home, Alfred. You can rest while on the road.”
“Very well, Professor,” said Alfred.
“I am starving. I think they still have something in the vending machine…”
They stopped on their tracks as a man holding a cane stood by the dim light of the vending machine. Feeling something was wrong, Tim, Damian, and Alfred braced themselves with the two boys standing before Vivian in a tactical formation. But Vivian stepped forward and had the boys and Alfred behind her, gaining questioning looks from them.
“Hiya, Vee,” the man said in a weak voice.
“Ritchie?” Vivian said in a whisper. “Ritchie Simpson? Bru – John said that he was meeting with you.”
“Really? John said that? So, you still keep contact with Johnny, huh?”
“He reached out to me,” Vivian realized her mistake. “You know how he is.”
“Yeah, yeah… You know, something interesting happened to me earlier, wanna know?”
Vivian shrugged. “Tell me.”
“Aside from John, Zatanna and Batman were in my house—would you believe that?” Ritchie laughed.
“You don’t say.”
“Yeah… so, you can cut the act and admit that you got that from Batman. You never invited me to the wedding — what was the theme? Count Dracula or something?”
Vivian frowned.
Ritchie stepped forward, revealing the glare in his eyes. “Yeah, it wasn't that hard to miss. He had your magic all over him, Vee… gotten rusty, don’t you think?”
“Where is he?” Vivian’s voice changed in their ears. She had some sort of echo that didn’t fall off too far.
“I sent them on an errand,” Ritchie shrugged. “But I think it’s a little awkward since the hubby’s meeting two exes, am I right?”
“You sent them to Gabriel on purpose.”
“He’s gotta find out sooner or later – the skeletons gotta come out of the closet, Vee. And we both know how many there are in yours.”
As the boys got out their available weapons, Vivian’s fists glowed gold with magical auras surrounding them –
“Enough games, Simpson,” an alluring voice came from the shadows. They didn’t see him approaching nor heard his footsteps because he didn’t walk the halls. This man appeared from the darkness. The man wore a business suit and played with a coin between his fingers. A Denarius. The man’s eyes then came to her, revealing pitch black sclera, making it look like a pit, and the half of his face was decaying with rotting flesh. He grinned and said, “Hello again, Vivian Pryor.”
“Balthazar,” Vivian gasped.
The demon Balthazar reached into his pocket and pulled out something. A spear head. “Remember this?”
The Spear of Destiny.
“I am sorry, Vee,” Ritchie said as Vivian cast a spell, sending golden flames in their direction like a flame thrower.
“RUN!” She ordered the boys and Alfred.
She kept the demon and Ritchie at bay until she saw the three turning the corner and then she opened a portal that had her falling from the ground and the ceiling to where they were.
“Mom!” Damian called at her.
“Keep running, and head for the chapel! Go!” Vivian said. As they ran, she saw the dark shadows of Balthazar coming at them about to attack. Vivian held out her hand and shone a bright light to keep it at bay. “GO!” She told her family.
They finally reached the chapel. Pushing her family inside, Vivian closed the doors behind them and ushered them deeper into it. She tore the basin of holy water from its pillar, using magic to aid her, and threw it over the boys and Alfred. Before any of them could ask what was happening, Vivian began the incantation. A protection spell against darker forces.
“Tell your father that it’s Ritchie that’s doing whatever this is and he’s got help from Balthazar – a demon. Gabriel was just a distraction, do you understand?” Vivian told them.
“What are you going to do?” Damian questioned her.
Vivian took a step back and opened a portal beneath her feet. “No matter what happens, do not open that door… I love you.” She jumped into the portal and shut it before Damian or Tim could follow.
Landing on the other side of the chapel’s doors, Vivian pushed back as she felt Damian and Tim attempting to kick it down and calling out for her: “Mom!”, “Vivian!”
“Children. I never thought they would be your every weakness. Cozy isn't it? Playing house? Playing the role of the loving and caring mother. We all know who and what you are, Vivian Pryor,” Balthazar’s voice came from behind. “You're just as damned as any of them…”
Turning to face him, Vivian stood ready to attack. “Still bitter from the last time we met, Balthazar? Come on, you were kind of asking for it. First Gabriel, now you, and Ritchie… What is this? You formed a boy band to kill me? What’s it called?”
“Payback,” Bathazar flipped the Denarius, and before it could land, his dark magic attacked Vivian but she blocked it with her own. “Getting rusty, Pryor? Back then you would have easily devoured me in flames – fire has always been your element, wasn’t it?”
Seeing the demon's adaptability, Vivian used another element and used the winds to blow Balthazar back, throwing him across the courtyard and smashing against the fountain. Pressing her palm on the earth beneath her, she casted the spell, “Ekaw, srailimaf ot em.”
The statues and gargoyles around them started to move. The knights that were old status from early Gotham years went to block the doors of the chapel to keep Damian and Tim inside, and the majority caged Balthazar by skewering him with their stone swords to the ground. The gargoyles surrounded him, trapping the demon into a seven-point circle, and on their foreheads runes burned to their concrete flesh.
Balthazar was trapped. Unable to go into the shadows nor use his demonic powers, nor can he heal himself.
“What are you doing?” Balthazar gasped in pain as he saw Vivian conjure a book.
“I'm reading your last rites.”
“Spare me your remedial incantations,” He laughed at her.
“We'll see… You do know what it is to truly be forgiven? To be welcomed into the Kingdom of God. Demon in heaven.” Using her magic, she manipulated the holy water that got on her clothes earlier and sprayed it at the demon, making him in pain.
“You're not a priest! You have no power!” Balthazar sneered.
“Tell that to the others I sent back down and dragged down,” she muttered. “So, who bought you to do this? Who made the deal? What's their payment?”
Balthazar only sneered at her.
“Alright, then,” Vivian sprayed her hands in his direction, getting more holy water at the demon. “You know, there are some things I learned from my husband that I never thought I'd ever use.”
Balthazar laughed mockingly, “Interrogation? You'll never get me to talk.”
“You know, Mrs. Wayne raised a sweet and kind hearted boy. But mine? I can't say the same.” She formed the hand symbol for the blessed and gold flames appeared atop the heads of the gargoyles. The demon squirmed, trying to get out. “No demon would let a dying mortal or a fallen angel puppeteer him around. So, who bought you?”
No answer.
“Fine then. Enjoy it, Balthazar! In nomine Patri, et Fili, et Spiritus Sancti,” Vivian drew the sign in midair, leaving flames to materialize the symbol. “May God have mercy on you, and grant you the pardon of all your sins. Whosoever sins you remit on Earth they are remitted unto them in Heaven.”
Balthazar screamed in pain.
“Who is it, Balthazar?” She spoke in Latin.
“I can't!”
She then read louder from the bible: “Grant your child entry into thy kingdom! In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Ame-”
“Mammon!”
Vivian stopped. Everything seems to stop.
Balthazar continued, “Mammon. You know this. It's the signs. He's coming back,” he laughed.
“Impossible, I locked him up,” Vivian closed the book.
A maniac laugh came from the demon and brought chills down her spine. “He got out. And he's found you. And you just made yourself vulnerable, Pryor.”
“Who freed him?”
“You broke the binding. Just one chain was all it took for him to wriggle out of his shackles. The baby's coming,” he teased.
Vivian clenched her fist and the demon screamed in agony as the mark of the cross burned him. But she forgot. Balthazar wasn't alone.
“Ndib, sniahc fo suratrat.”
Dark chains appeared from the ground and caught Vivian’s wrists and neck, and pulled her down to the ground.
Ritchie appeared before her and with her was Gabriel who casted the spell.
“I really am sorry, Vee. But it’s the only way,” said Ritchie.
The House of Mysteries appeared in the middle of the court yard. Gabriel had Vivian float in midair with the chains holding her to the Earth and brought into the house.
“Simpson, get me out of this thing!” Balthazar ordered.
Ritchie only looked at him and said, “I'll leave you to her boys inside. I'm sure they'll have fun. And by the way you have to ask for absolution to be forgiven, dumbass.”
“SIMPSON, I'LL GET YOUR SOUL FOR THIS!”
“I'd like to see you try, Bally!”
Ritchie entere the House of Mysteries and disappeared. Leaving Balthazar in Gotham University bound to its grounds by a spell and being impaled by the statues. That night, the only sound in the campus heard were of Damian and Tim calling out for her as they searched for where she went, and the denarius falling to the ground.
~ Now ~
“Batman!” Nightwing, Robin and Red Robin appeared before him, both riding their motorcycles while Robin rode with Nightwing. All three of them looked tired and a little beaten from trying to keep Gotham from destroying itself. “We got Gordon to start the evacuation. But most of the GCPD are a little… feral.”
“They chased us with their guns and axes, Nightwing,” said Red Robin.
“Yeah, a little is an understatement,” Nightwing winced. “Oracle's in the tower, she'll be safe and can operate. Can't say the same for Batwoman though.”
“So, Vivian's spells only works in the family, huh?” Constantine muttered.
The mention of Vivian had Robin hop off the motorcycle and face Batman to say, “We've been trying to look for her but we can't. I'm sorry, Father, they took her and we didn't much put up a fight.”
“Vivian trapped you in the church because she knows you don't have the ability to fight these things. It's alright, Robin,” Bruce reassured him. “But right now, what we need is to make sure the Justice League don't come into Gotham's airspace.”
“Too late for that!” Red Robin pointed at the direction of Red Hood jumping from one building to another while being chased by Wonder Woman. “Hood, you okay?”
“I have a freaking Amazon chasing me with a sword, Red!” Jason replied in their comms.
“The only way to stop this is by finding Vivian and stopping the ritual,” Zatanna told them, still pale from using such power to get them to Gotham from Los Angeles. “We'll hold them off. John, you and Batman need to find her and stop Ritchie.”
“I'm not leaving you like this, Zee,” John told her.
“We'll keep her safe, and I'm sure Blood wouldn't mind giving us a hand,” said Nightwing, turning to Jason Blood who arrived with Zatanna and the others. He then turned to Batman with a serious look, “We both know this was a long time coming. We were there when she got infected by Scarecrow's fear toxin. And we saw what it did to her.”
“I know, but I had hoped this would never come,” said Batman as he remembered the incident years ago. The time they almost lost Vivian because of the Fear Toxin's effects. “I'll find her. You keep guard and try to keep Gotham from destroying itself. And if you find Superman try to get him to turn around.”
“And if he's already here?” Robin raised a brow.
“Then you know what to do. Constantine, what do they need for their ritual?”
“They need to be isolated so Ritchie can do the spell without any disturbances,” said Constantine. “It takes time to bring forth the devil's son, you know. He can't have this chaos.”
“I think I know where.”
~*~
Lady Gotham was currently under maintenance. Workers would be on the statue during the day and work until the sun permitted them to see. But due to budget cuts, their timeline was squeezed and they were forced to work at night too, with spotlights to help them see. Right now, these workers were found dead on the grounds of Lady Gotham, killed by their own hands as the dark magic consumed their minds to make them believe they were seeing monsters.
Making the island a no-man's land. The perfect place for Ritchie to bring forth Mammon.
Floating above the fountain at Lady Gotham, Vivian tried to rip the magical shackles but to no use. Ritchie has bound her there with her shirt ripped open as he drew the runes to summon the demon and bring him forth to be birthed.
“This isn't really a manger but I guess it'll do,” Ritchie said.
This was a mockery of the Birth of the Son.
“You know what'll happen if you do this, Ritchie,” Vivian told him. “Do you really think they'll let you live after this? What, did they tell you that you'll get your own private island where Hell won't touch?”
“A new world,” Gabriel appeared. “A new life without this illness. Something I know we can do once you are under our thumb, Pryor.”
Vivian glared at the fallen angel. “A little bitter, Gabriel? For someone who was all about God's plans, you are a fucking idiot to go on with this.”
He frowned down at her. “I find it unfair that each one of you are granted redemption from the Creator – sinners to all degree – all of you. You just have to repent, and God takes you into his bosom. In all the other worlds in all the universes, no other creature can make such a boast, save man. It's not fair.” He leaned down closer to her. “How is it that God can easily forgive the most sinful creatures and yet he takes my divinity away because I slept with a mortal.”
“It's the idea of giving into desires, Gabriel. God sets higher expectations for you. Angels are not supposed to give into those desires. And from how I saw it, you have been wanting to give in for a long time now. You just needed someone to pull the right strings to get the all powerful Archangel Gabriel to submit. And I'll tell you, it was hard. You were a tough nut to crack.”
Gabriel slapped her across the face, leaving a deep cut at her lip.
“That's enough now, Gabriel. She's trying to rile you up so she can find an opening to break those bonds.”
“Speaking from experience, Ritchie?” Vivian flexed her jaw.
“You forget, Vee. I've seen you work. Johnny taught you all that he knew. And in some aspects, you just did it better. I mean who can say no to a pretty girl, right?”
Vivian glared at him.
“There she is. The real Vee. The one that's angry at the world because it took her mommy away, but really, we can see through it. Inside, we all know you're just scared. Have you ever wondered what that man did to your mommy's eyes, Vee? Do you think he ate them or did he just put them in a jar so he could have someone watching while he…” A smirk came to his lips as he saw the rage in Vivian's eyes. “And here we go!” He placed his hand on Vivian's belly and started the incarnation, then with his other hand, he grasped her by the neck and pushed her down to the water.
Vivian tried to fight back and free herself but the shackles kept her from moving. Ritchie continued the ritual's spell until she stopped moving.
They have drowned her.
Vivian appeared in the familiar plains of Hell. The demons surrounded her but kept a good distance as if something was keeping them from coming any closer. And there was. Because she was not for them to take first. She was for their Prince.
Mammon appeared from the hills of Hell and crawled towards her. Vivian tried to run away but even in Hell the shackles held her down. Mammon towered her with his true demonic form and said with a grin, “I can finally touch you, Pryor.”
The demon prince ran his finger down her cheek. Vivian kept a brave face but she was scared. He looks exactly as he did when she had that hallucination from Scarecrow's toxin.
“The baby's coming,” he mocked her and he pierced his hand into her belly just where Two-Face's bullet left a scar and killed her daughter.
Back in the mortal world, Vivian's body thrashed and broke the chains. And as she stood, looking at Ritchie and Gabriel, her eyes were no longer brown nor gold, these were the eyes of the devil.
Mammon has come.
~*~
“There!” John pointed at the bottom of Lady Gotham where three figures stood. Setting the plane on autopilot, Batman opened the pod and both he and Constantine jumped down from the sky. Whilst Constantine used his magic to set him as gently as he could, Batman sped up his descent then gilded using his cape to angle him just right and kicked Gabriel away from the fountain where Vivian was.
Before Gabriel can attack him, John had the fallen angel trapped in a magical cube, leaving Ritchie to deal with. But that wasn't the case, as Batman was to march up to the man he was pulled by a powerful force into the fountain where he was held by the neck by his wife. But this wasn't his wife at all. Vivian's face contorted to something demonic with her eyes pitch black and her hands having claws that could rip him to shreds.
“Not so fast, Mammon,” Ritchie held out his hand in Vivian's direction. “We had a deal.”
Vivian turned to him and spoke in Latin.
Ritchie responded. “I'll release you if you give me my end of this bargain.”
Vivian's head cocked to the side and she grinned. “You dare hold me hostage?” Mammon spoke laced with Vivian's voice.
“As the one who summoned you, I can put you back in hell and shove you so deep up your father's ass if I want to. And you don't want good old dad to find out about this, right? He'd never let this happen.”
“Fine,” Mammon looked up for a moment and then said, “your chariot awaits you. Mortal.”
There was a change in Ritchie's demeanor. His sickness was gone and he felt great! At his feet, a portal appeared, but instead of a smile of victory the man's face turned to horror.
“No! No! I command you to release me! I Summoned you! You answer to me!” Ritchie said as the shrouds appeared to take him to Hell.
“You were just a means to come out freely. I answer to no one. Especially not to a mortal.”
“No! John!” Ritchie turned to the man who kept Gabriel busy in the cube. “John, help me! You owe me! You both owe me!” That was the last they heard and saw of Ritchie as the shrouds dragged him into the ground.
Turning to Batman, Mammon reached for him and ripped off the cowl. Then Vivian's right eye turned back to its normal brown iris, and with how it looked like Bruce knew that was her.
“I'll let her see you one last time before I kill you with her hands,” Mammon smirked and squeezed its claws around Bruce's neck. “Watch, Pryor… and you,” Mammon spoke to Bruce then its voice changed to Vivian's soft tone, “Open your eyes, Bruce.”
Gritting his teeth, Bruce grasped Vivian's arm. “I'm sorry, my love,” he forced to say as he reached for her arm and dislocated her shoulder. Vivian let out a scream of pain and was forced to let him go. Bruce landed on the fountain and before Mammon could attack him, he tackled his wife's body to the water. When she tried to attack again, he punched her across the face, and held her down.
“CONSTANTINE!” Bruce called out to the man.
With Gabriel out of the way, Constantine ran to where Bruce held Vivian and took position by holding her head, then started the incantation. He repeated the prayer over and over, fighting off her thrashes as Mammon tried to break free. They can still put the bastard back in hell, with the ritual unfinished.
“It's not doing anything!” Bruce told him.
“It will –” John paused as he saw the tattoo on her side. He changed the prayer and read the runes on her side.
Vivian let out a cry of pain as the prayer burned her from the inside–
Silence.
The animalistic cries of the demon stopped and was replaced by Vivian's whimpers of pain. Batman had her look at him to see her eyes. They were brown and tears rolled down her swollen cheek where he'd punched her.
“Vivian” Bruce brought her to an embrace. “I'm sorry, I'm sorry. We'll get you to a doctor.”
“So, that's how it feels like…” Vivian whimpered as the pain of the broken arm radiated through her body, along with the one from the punch. “To be punched by Batman. Fuck it hurts.” She cried and hid her face on his chest.
“This will be the last time. I swear,” Bruce held her tight.
“Damn it, Bruce!” She cried.
“Something's wrong,” Constantine said as he looked around.
“What?” Bruce asked.
“The magic is still here. They're still here. It's not over – Vee!”
Then she felt it. The claws inside her body craving on her flesh from the inside as it tries to get out of her body.
“JOHN!” Vivian called for him. “Get it out of me! John —AAHHH!”
Vivian screamed in pain as she felt the demon fight its way out of her body. Constantine held his hand on her belly, fighting off the creature as he said the prayer. But it wasn't working.
“Vee, I need your help in this. Alright? Only you can burn that bastard. Break the binding, Vee. Let it go.”
Vivian nodded but then she turned to her arm and Constantine saw the binding marks that glowed on both.
“Fix that arm, Bats!” Constantine told Batman. “Now! Brace yourself, Vee.”
Muttering an apology, Bruce returned Vivian's shoulder back with a pop, the woman let out an agonizing cry. With all her strength, she pushed her arms together but some sort of force kept them apart, but she fought it as she muttered the incantation: “Otni eht thgil –”
A strong wind sent Batman and Constantine flying off the ground and nearly off the island. And they would if it weren't for Batman's grappling hook catching them before falling into the sea.
Gabriel, soaked in Gotham's polluted harbor waters, walked towards Vivian. And in his hand was the Spear of Destiny. “The only one getting what they want tonight is me!” He sneered at them. He knelt before Vivian and held her by the neck.
“A powerful psychic-witch as a vessel,” Gabriel began. “The Spear stained with the blood of the Son. I shall bring you onto this earth, Mammon, son of Satan!” Gabriel pierced the spear into her body and dragged it down, ripping her open. A bloodcurdling scream emitted from Vivian as the demon prince crawled itself out of her, fully formed as the ritual was complete.
“Mammon,” Gabriel greeted, dropping the spear and Vivian's body into the waters.
“The demon turned to him and sneered, “You fool. You killed the gate. You were supposed to cut her open after she breaks her binding, fool!
“You don't need it. I have given you an army already,” Gabriel gestured to the chaos in Gotham. “The Silver City must have known now. Let the war begin.”

New(ish) Comics:
Batman/Superman: World's Finest #31: This honestly felt like a straight JLA story. Which I don't mind, but can I say that I would prefer more actual Bruce and Clark content?
Jenny Sparks #2: okay, as a Jenny Sparks story it remains terrible, as an examination of Tom King's psyche...I think it's going to read better in trade, as there's a bunch of timeline jumps happening here.
I'm very reminded of a lot of tricks he used with Mister Miracle here, and the art is again trying for that prestige look with lots of repeating panels of the same shape and characters moving through them.
Batman & Robin: Year One #1: look, I've been somewhat down on this, given I didn't think we really needed a third brand-new-Robin Dick story in three years (this, Last Halloween, and Robin & Batman), plus World's Finest.
However, it is very very very cute, as expected. Lots of ratbag tiny Dick balancing on things he shouldn't and jumping off them. The giant R on the back of Dick's belt is confusing me a little but I guess it's so he's got branding in both directions? And I'm glad there are no long pants in sight, given WF put them on him immediately.
The Warlord #68: This week we are STILL in Wizard World, sigh.
I am going to call out Dan Jurgens' incredible experimental framing here for the double page title spread: (The Warlord frequently has these double pages that mean you need to turn the floppy to admire them for titles)
The rest of the issue is just Mikola carrying on even more about being a werewolf, Jennifer separating his wolf from his human parts (so Mikola now has a wolf he has a psychic connection with he needs to learn to control), and Mariah firmly telling Mikola she's with Machiste now.
Absolute Power Updates:
Absolute Power: Super Son #1: Other people who care more about Jon have said a bunch of intelligent things about this. My major comment is that for a comic that's in the middle of an event and that contains a number of characters with very few on page appearances (I'm thinking both Nia AND Galaxy), having them appear in a dream sequence where they're acting out of character isn't the greatest choice. There are absolutely people reading this comic for whom it's one of their first interactions with the character, and so they don't have the background to work out what's in character and what's the distorted dream behaviour.
Superman #18: Clark trades a lie to Neron to get the map they want. This is...fine? It explains how Zatanna's popping up getting people from A to B.
Wonder Woman #13: Yeah I don't really like Tom King's characterisation of either Diana or Damian in this. I did like all the background character cameos in the rescue though and Plas and Ralph comparing stretching facts.
I read the Trinity backup and...yeah while I believe Damian would frame stories to show him in the best light, I disbelieve he'd frame them like that.

Hi, I want to read some DC comics about how Harvey transformed from former DA to the criminal mastermind who ruled half of Gotham's Underworld (against the Penguin). I've already read/seen: Two-Face: A Celebration of 75 Years Batman: The Long Halloween Batman: Dark Victory (1999) Batman '89 Batman: The Animated Series Batman: The Audio Adventures
Any other reading recommendations? Thanks a lot for your help. :)
So you're looking for origin stories, or at least ones that shed more light on Two-Face's origin? Well first off, I'm glad you read the 75th Anniversary collection, because that has three of my very favorites: the original Harvey Kent trilogy from 1942-43, the Grace Dent story from Secret Origins Special (1989), and "Eye of the Beholder" from Batman Annual #14 (1990).
Besides those, and the ones you've listed, here are a few others to check out. Some are great, some are mixed bags, and some are downright lousy.
First and foremost, I STRONGLY recommend the 1989 Batman newspaper comic strip, which I loved so much that I posted the whole two-year saga on its own tumblr account. You can start from the very beginning right here, but keep in mind that Harvey's storyline--which runs all the way to the very last strip--doesn't really start until the second arc.
Next, Batman: Dual to the Death by Geary Gravel is a YA novelization of the BTAS origin, seamlessly combined with the two-part Batgirl origin episodes. It improves on both the animated versions in small but crucial ways, and it's highly recommended for BTAS fans. Unfortunately, it's pretty hard to find.
On a similar note, Peter David's movie novelization of Batman Forever can be found more easily, either in used book form or on the Internet Archive, and it's absolutely worth reading. I love the movie of Batman Forever, but it's objectively a terrible take on Harvey. The novelization adds SO MUCH, including an original prequel scene with D.A. Harvey Dent, and his ending is far more satisfying.
Cartoon Network's CGI animated series Beware the Batman (2013) also features a series-long origin arc for Harvey Dent, but it's one of the worst takes I've ever seen on the character. He's a petty, selfish, ambitious little prick, an absolute scumbag, completely devoid of depth or tragedy. Thankfully, few have seen this arc, since the majority of Harvey's episodes were never aired after the series was cancelled, but they're all available to watch for those morbidly curious to see just how badly someone can screw up Harvey as a character.
"The Big Burn" from Batman and Robin, vol 2 #24-28 (2014), also collected in B&R volume 5. After the huge DC reboot, this was Harvey new origin, which tried some very different things with him. A VERY mixed bag, but one that ended in a hugely exciting way that makes the whole thing worth reading. Follow it up with its sequel, "Ugly Heart," from Detective Comics #1020-1024, collected in Detective Comics Vol 5: Joker War.
Finally, watch the entirety of the recently-released/cancelled CW series Gotham Knights, with Misha Collins performing a surprisingly rich, interesting, and flawed Harvey Dent origin arc. The show got a lot of shit, some of it undeserved, but Collins' Harvey was an intriguing surprise, and I fear nothing we see from Harvey in any Reevesverse media will bring half as much care and interest to Harvey as GK did, for better or worse. All 13 episodes can be watched for free on CW Seed, region permitting.
EDIT: Oh right also the Telltale Batman video game! I haven't actually played that yet because I know enough about what happens and the illusion of meaningful choice indicative of Telltale games that I just don't feel like putting myself through that. People seem to like it a lot, though! I just... don't put me in a position of choosing to save either Harvey or Selina if you're just going to cheat and have him go evil anyway.
