BIG SHOUT OUT to all my fellow DADS who went in expecting an ETHICALLY MISGUIDED REMAKE of 2004's Barbie: The Princess and the Pauper, only to PUMP their FISTS IN THE AIR when it unexpectedly reprised that movie's "To Be a Princess" song as a pop banger.

Can I get a HELL YEAH to the reverent and symbolic PASSING OF THE TORCH from the 2000s Barbie soundtracks (which emulated classical musicals) to the 2010s (which emulated modern teen anthems)?

Let's get this post ONE MILLION REBLOGS to show the world it's RIGHT and NORMAL to get slightly more excited by these things than our children. a pride icon set with keira, the fabulous popstar! tbh, i didn't watch the movie yet (bc of how i misjudged it but i'll give it a chance) but i know i'm gonna love her. and i've listened to 'look how high we can fly' and it's my fave song of hers. it's also cool she's in charge of her own career for the most part, no matter how tough it can be. i cannot blame her for wanting to swap lives with tori for a break. 🎶🎶🎶

i have been with this little snippet of a song in my head for like two days. i could not for the life of me recognize where the fuck the music was from.

I was listening to "When I See Him Tonight" from the latest Helluva episode and at one point while sining the chorus along a sequence of notes popped into my head?? For a second I thought it was a disney song, because for some reason When i see him tonight really reminds me of The Beauty and The Beast, but then over furthest thinking I realized it was a Barbie song.

From some movie. I had a feeling it might be from The Diamond Castle but I couldn't remembder any more of it! 🫠 just nine notes!

Then today, thinking on this frustrating song again, i suddenly remembered a few words of the lyrics, so I picked up my phone and looked for them
