the restaurant was a masterpiece in itselfâa panoramic view of the city below, chandeliers sparkling like stolen starlight, and an air so heavy with exclusivity it almost choked you.
but it was the silence that truly got under your skin.
across the table, myoui mina sat with her hands neatly folded, her motherâs diamond-laden wrist resting lightly on her shoulder. the matriarchâs smile was polite but predatory, a practiced expression honed through decades of social maneuvering. minaâs expression, by contrast, was unreadable, her dark eyes focused on you like she was cataloging your every reaction.
âletâs not waste time,â mrs. myoui began, her voice smooth and precise, cutting through the quiet like a scalpel. âweâre here to propose a mutually beneficial arrangement. mina⌠needs a spouse of significant standing, someone with the competence to support her position. naturally, we thought of you.â
you blinked, barely suppressing the urge to laugh. ânaturally?â you repeated, your tone dipping into disbelief. âwith all due respect, mrs. myoui, iâm not interested in being a pawn in your⌠dynasty plans.â
minaâs gaze flickered, just for a second, but her motherâs smile never faltered. ââŚi understand your reservations. but this is not merely for us. your family stands to gain considerably as well. surely your father has discussed this with you?â
your stomach twisted at the mention of your father, the inevitable weight of his expectations pressing down like an iron shackle. you forced a thin smile. âwhat i do, mrs. myoui, is practice law. my involvement in my familyâs business is minimal. i prefer to keep it that way.â
mrs. myouiâs smile finally cracked, just enough to reveal a glimmer of impatience. âthatâs precisely the issue. youâre squandering your potential. but with mina by your side, youâll have every opportunity toââ
âno.â
the word left your mouth before you could second-guess it. âwith all due respect, mrs. myoui,â you added, trying to rein in your frustration, âiâd prefer to find someone who actually loves me.â
mrs. myouiâs gaze hardened, though her smile remained in place. âlove is a luxury, not a necessity, in our world. and frankly, one iâm sure youâll come to understand.â her voice was clipped now, her patience wearing thin. âbut perhaps you need time to reflect on your priorities. this is an opportunity youâd be foolish to waste.â
she stood, adjusting her shawl, the subtle but deliberate shift of power unmistakable. mina rose with her, her expression still unreadable as she followed her mother out of the restaurant. you clenched your fists under the table, the quiet crack of glass snapping you back to the moment. the remnants of your drink scattered across the polished surface, a faint reflection of your anger.
------
the office door slammed shut behind you, the echo ringing in the silence that followed. your father stood in the middle of the room, his posture stiff, jaw clenched so tightly you thought it might crack. he didnât need to speakâthe storm was already brewing in his eyes.
âdo you even comprehend what youâve done?â he started, his voice eerily calm, the kind of calm that preceded an explosion.
you didnât flinch, meeting his gaze with a defiance that felt more fragile than it looked. âi told you before, i wonât let you decide my life. not this time.â
his hand lashed out before you could process the movement. the slap wasnât just a physical stingâit was a sharp, brutal reminder of your place in his world.
âyou ungrateful child!â his voice rose, cracking like a whip in the heavy air. âeverything you have, everything you are, is because of this family. and this is how you repay me? by throwing it all away?â
your head snapped to the side, the metallic taste of blood filling your mouth. your first instinct was to clench your fists, to hold your ground. but as his words continued, their weight pressed down harder than any blow could.
âi built this empire from nothing,â he sneered, his finger jabbing in your direction. âand you think you can waltz out, turn your back on it, just because youâre playing at being a lawyer?â
âitâs not playing,â you shot back, your voice rough and shaking. âitâs my life. my choice.â
another strikeâthis time a fist to your shoulder, sending you stumbling back against the desk. pain flared, sharp and unrelenting, but you didnât let him see the tears threatening to spill over.
âyou donât have a choice,â he hissed. ânot as long as you carry my name. you will marry myoui mina, and you will do it without complaint. or elseââ
âor else what?â you interrupted, your voice rising despite yourself. âyouâll ruin me? take away everything Iâve worked for? youâve already done that.â
his laughter was cold, bitter. âruin you? youâve done that to yourself. now get out of my sight before i do something i regret.â
you didnât wait for him to change his mind. you left the room, your steps shaky but purposeful. as soon as the door closed behind you, you leaned against the wall, breathing hard. your shoulder ached, your cheek throbbed, but the worst pain was the helplessness clawing at your chest.
------
the next day started like any other, except it wasnât. you swiped your card at the entrance of the office, and the machine beeped red. again, you tried, frowning as you wiped it against your pant leg and swiped once more. red.
âuh, excuse me?â you called to the receptionist. her name was meiâsomeone you usually exchanged pleasantries with on your way in. she looked up, startled, then glanced nervously at her computer.
âi⌠iâm sorry,â she stammered, âbut it seems your access has been revoked.â
ârevoked?â your voice sharpened. âthatâs a mistake. i'm the head director.â
she swallowed hard, nodding as if to agree but not daring to meet your eyes. âyouâll have to check with mr. (Ln).â
an hour later, after what felt like an eternity of waiting outside the hr managerâs office, you finally got your answer. or rather, the lack of one. âyour credentials have been deactivated. iâm not authorized to provide further details,â the manager said, her tone clipped and impersonal.
âyouâre not authorized? this is my job. my office. i deserve an explanation,â you pressed, your frustration bubbling over.
her expression didnât waver. âyouâll have to speak with your father about this.â
those words were the final confirmation. you left the building, the weight of it all crashing down on you. your office, your cases, your colleaguesâit was all gone, just like that. erased. your fatherâs hand was all over this, a calculated move to corner you.
as you stepped onto the street, the world felt louder than usual. the sounds of traffic and chatter blurred together, a stark contrast to the silence that had taken over your life. with nowhere else to go, you headed for the batting cages. you needed to hit something, anything, just to feel in control again.
-----
baseball had always been your escape. the rhythmic crack of the bat against the ball, the familiar burn in your muscles, the steady stream of pitches from the machineâall of it helped drown out the noise in your head.
you were mid-swing when she appeared. mina, in a tailored coat and heels, looking absurdly out of place against the dusty field and worn equipment. she was a sharp contrast to the sweat and grime clinging to you, her pristine presence a reminder of the gulf between your worlds.
âyou missed,â she remarked coldly, her voice slicing through the air as you struck the next pitch. the ball ricocheted off the cage, and you turned to her, your expression dark.
âwhat do you want?â your tone was sharp, the frustration of the last few days spilling over.
mina didnât flinch. her gaze was steady, assessing, as if calculating how much effort this conversation was worth. âto end this childish act of defiance,â she said bluntly. âsign the contract. stop wasting everyoneâs time.â
you gritted your teeth, gripping the bat tighter. âis that how you talk to everyone youâre trying to convince to marry you?â
âonly the ones who are being stubborn.â her reply was smooth, but there was a flicker of irritation in her eyes. âyouâre not the only one with things to lose here. do you think i want to be stuck with someone so⌠obstinate?â
âthen why me?â you asked, your voice rising. âthere are better options. people whoâd jump at the chance to be your spouse. why drag me into this?â
she stepped closer, her heels sinking slightly into the dirt. âbecause youâre not entirely useless,â she said, her tone icy. âand unlike the others, youâre not a liability. thatâs all that matters.â
her words hit harder than they should have, and you swung at the next pitch with more force than necessary. the ball flew into the net, the impact reverberating up your arms. âwell, forgive me if i donât find that flattering.â
mina sighed, brushing an invisible speck of dust from her coat. âyouâre impossible.â she turned to leave, her voice carrying over her shoulder. âbut mark my wordsâyouâll come around. whether you like it or not.â
you watched her walk away, the tension in your chest coiling tighter. the bat slipped from your hands, clattering to the ground. as the machine wound up for another pitch, you stood there, frozen, the weight of her words pressing down like a stone.
-----
the ballroom shimmered with opulence, the soft hum of conversation weaving through the air as glasses clinked and laughter punctuated the atmosphere. this wasnât just any gatheringâit was a display of power, a convergence of families whose names carried weight in every corner of the country.
you kept to the periphery, your discomfort masked by a neutral expression. you were here as a formality, the dutiful pawn in a game much larger than yourself. yet, despite your efforts to blend into the wallpaper, your eyes were drawn to the center of the room.
there she was.
myoui mina, the woman you were being forced to marry. she stood effortlessly poised, the epitome of control. her black dress was understated yet breathtaking, paired with diamonds that seemed to reflect her icy demeanor.
what caught your attention wasnât just herâit was the man beside her. bambam. you recognized him instantly: the charismatic heir to an entertainment conglomerate. his easy laughter grated on your nerves as he leaned in, speaking to mina with a familiarity that felt out of place. she tilted her head slightly, her lips curving into a faint, polite smile.
your grip tightened around your champagne glass. it wasnât jealousyâno, that would imply you cared. this was something else, an irritation that churned in your chest.
her words from before replayed in your mind: âbut mark my wordsâyouâll come around. whether you like it or not.â
a bitter taste filled your mouth, but you couldnât deny itâsheâd been right.
before you knew it, you were crossing the room.
minaâs gaze flicked toward you as you approached, her expression calm but her body tensing ever so slightly. bambam noticed you too, his smile broadening as if heâd just been let in on a joke.
âand here comes the mystery partner,â bambam quipped, his tone light but edged with curiosity. âmina, you didnât tell me your companion was here tonight.â
minaâs lips parted to respond, but you cut in. âa private matter,â you said, your voice steady. âcan i talk to my fiancĂŠ?â
bambam raised an eyebrow but stepped back with a shrug. âiâll leave you two to it. always a pleasure, mina.â
as soon as he walked away, you turned to her, your voice dropping. âcare to explain what that was about?â
minaâs eyes narrowed slightly, her voice as sharp as the diamonds she wore. âi donât owe you an explanation.â
âdonât you?â you countered, struggling to keep your tone even. âweâre here to sign a contract, and youâre out there chatting upââ
âa family friend,â she interjected, her tone cold. âyouâre making a scene over nothing.â
your jaw clenched. âthis isnât nothing. do you even care how this looks?â
she stepped closer, her voice low but laced with condescension. âlooks? youâre worried about appearances now?â her lips curled into a faint smirk. âyouâve finally caught up, havenât you? maybe youâre not as stubborn as you pretend to be.â
the words were a knife twisting in your chest because, deep down, you knew she was right. every choice had led you here, and no matter how much you hated it, there was no turning back.
you exhaled sharply, reining in your frustration. âfine. whereâs the damn thing?â
minaâs smirk didnât falter as she produced the document from her bag, her movements deliberate, almost taunting. she held it out to you, her hand steady.
âgo ahead,â she said, her tone detached but cutting. âsign it. make it official. i told youâyouâd come around.â
the pen felt heavy as you signed, the weight of each stroke pressing into your chest like a stone.
âcongratulations,â you said bitterly. âweâre officially partners in misery.â
mina took the paper back, her eyes scanning it briefly before folding it and tucking it away. she didnât say a word, her expression unreadable as she turned on her heel and rejoined the crowd.
you stayed behind, the noise of the party fading into the background as you stared after her. you hated the smug satisfaction she wore like another piece of jewelry. but most of all, you hated that she was right.
-----
the ceremony was as grand as youâd expectedâornate floral arrangements lined the aisle, the scent of white lilies suffocating in its sweetness. the pews were filled with people who barely mattered to you, their expressions either bored or falsely polite.
your palms felt clammy despite the coolness of the cathedral. you hated thisâevery moment, every forced smile, every expectation weighing down on your shoulders.
your fatherâs voice was low but firm as he leaned in close, his hand gripping your shoulder.
âthis is your chance to redeem yourself,â he said, his tone laced with authority. âplay your part, and youâll have your titleâand your lifeâback.â
you nodded stiffly, your jaw tightening as his words sank in. his grip lingered, a silent warning. you hated the weight of his expectations, but you hated the sense of inevitability even more.
as he walked away to join a group of other high-profile guests, you caught movement from the corner of your eye. mina stood near the entrance, her gaze fixed on you, her expression unreadable but sharp, as if sheâd overheard every word.
you turned away quickly, adjusting your cuffs in an attempt to ignore the way her presence made your skin prickle.
the ceremony began soon after, the sound of traditional music filling the hall as family elders stepped forward, placing ceremonial heirloom decorations on you. the intricate gold and jade pieces felt heavy, their symbolism not lost on you. it was a visual reminder of what this marriage meantâa merging of legacies, not lives.
as the officiant called for silence, your eyes scanned the crowd. minaâs family sat in the front row, their posture mirroring her composed elegance. her father gave you a curt nod, while her motherâs smile was thin and calculating.
your own family wasnât much better. your father was in his element, mingling with the likes of minatozaki sana, who greeted him with a laugh that didnât quite reach her eyes. hirai momo and park jihyo exchanged pleasantries with the other guests, while nayeon and chaeyoung seemed more interested in observing the dynamics than participating. bambam, of course, was here too, his charm drawing smiles from every corner of the roomâexcept yours.
the music shifted, signaling minaâs entrance.
when she appeared at the end of the aisle, the room fell silent. she was a vision, her gown shimmering with delicate embroidery that caught the light. diamonds adorned her neck, wrists, and ears, each piece selected to showcase her status.
your chest tightened as she approached, her steps deliberate and her face a mask of calm detachment. she looked straight ahead, her expression betraying nothing, but you couldnât help feeling like every step she took was a silent victory over you.
the ceremony continued, each word from the officiant feeling heavier than the last.
âdo you, myoui mina, takeââ
âi do,â she said, cutting him off before he could even finish. her tone was clipped, almost impatient, as if this were just another business transaction.
your turn came, and you hesitated, the weight of her gaze pressing down on you.
âi do,â you finally said, the words bitter on your tongue.
when it came time for the rings, her fingers were steady as she slid the band onto yours. your hands, in contrast, felt awkward, trembling slightly as you returned the gesture.
âyou may kiss the bride,â the officiant declared.
you turned to her, your heart thudding in your chest. her gaze was steady, cold, and challenging.
the kiss was supposed to be brief, for show, but the moment your lips met hers, something shifted. her lips were soft but unyielding, her lack of response initially infuriating. but then you felt itâan undercurrent of something neither of you could name.
for a split second, the world around you disappeared. her perfume was intoxicating, her proximity overwhelming. it wasnât love, but it wasnât nothing, either. when you pulled back, her eyes met yours with a flicker of somethingâfrustration? curiosity?
âwell,â she murmured under her breath, her voice cold but tinged with irony, âthat was unexpected.â
the applause snapped you back to reality, and you turned away quickly, your face hot with a mixture of embarrassment and something else you refused to acknowledge.
as you walked back down the aisle together, her hand resting lightly on your arm, she leaned in just enough for only you to hear.
âi told you,â she whispered, her tone smug, âyouâd come around soon enough.â
you glanced at her, irritation and something close to admiration warring in your chest. she was right, and she knew it.
-----
the reception was held in a venue that oozed luxuryâhigh ceilings adorned with intricate chandeliers, marble floors reflecting the soft glow of golden lights, and floral arrangements so extravagant they looked like they belonged in a museum. the murmurs of the guests filled the air, their chatter laced with curiosity and speculation.
âso thatâs the myouiâs new pawn,â someone whispered.
âa lawyer, huh? theyâre probably hoping to use them to navigate out of future messes,â another added.
you ignored the gossip as best as you could, drifting toward the group of bachelors huddled near the bar. the champagne flowed freely, and the conversation veered into lighthearted banter. for a while, you felt like yourself again, laughing and joking without the weight of minaâs presence looming over you.
mina, however, was always watching. from her seat near the head table, she observed you with a mix of irritation and something else she couldnât quite name. eventually, she stood, her movements precise and deliberate, and made her way across the room.
âenough,â she said, her voice low but commanding as she reached your side. âyouâve had your fun. come with me.â
you raised an eyebrow, the corners of your lips tugging into a faint smirk. âyes, dear?â
her glare could have frozen fire.
without waiting for your response, she grabbed your wristânot hard, but firmly enough to make it clear she wasnât in the mood to argueâand led you to a round table where her friends were seated.
âeveryone,â she began, her voice cool and composed as ever, âmeet my spouse.â
hirai momo was the first to speak, her grin wide and mischievous. âso, youâre the lucky one. or unlucky, depending on how you look at it.â she laughed, the sound light and teasing.
âiâll take it as a compliment,â you replied, matching her tone.
bambam leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable but his words sharp. âyou know, not everyone would be brave enough to marry into the myoui family. some might call it reckless.â
you shrugged, unbothered. âor smart, depending on how you look at it.â
minaâs lips pressed into a thin line, her gaze darting briefly to bambam before settling back on you. she didnât intervene, but her posture was tense.
minatozaki sana, on the other hand, said nothing. she sipped her drink, her eyes flicking between you and mina with a look that bordered on disdain. you could feel her silent judgmentâit was almost palpable.
momo, however, was surprisingly easygoing. she asked about your work, cracked a few jokes, and seemed genuinely amused by your answers. you found yourself relaxing slightly, even enjoying the conversation.
the conversation flowed, and you found yourself surprisingly at ease with momo. she laughed at your jokes, and when she gestured too animatedly, her bracelet caught on the edge of her glass, nearly toppling it over.
âcareful,â you said gently, reaching to steady her drink before any champagne spilled. you untangled her bracelet with a deftness that surprised even yourself.
âthanks,â momo said, her cheeks pink as she glanced up at you.
âno problem.â you gave her a soft smile, your fingers brushing hers briefly as you handed the bracelet back.
a little while later, momo excused herself to retrieve something from her bag but returned moments later, clutching her heel awkwardly.
âwhatâs wrong?â you asked.
âthe strap broke,â she said, holding the elegant shoe aloft.
without hesitation, you bent down, taking the shoe from her hand. âlet me see.â
âyou donât have toââ she started, but you were already examining the strap.
âgot it,â you said after a moment, slipping the shoe back onto her foot and fastening the strap securely.
âwow,â momo laughed, clearly charmed. âif this whole lawyer thing doesnât work out, youâve got a career in shoe repair.â
âiâll keep that in mind,â you replied with a grin.
from across the table, minaâs gaze hardened, her lips pressing into a thin line.
sana, meanwhile, looked on with a furrowed brow, her eyes narrowing slightly at the interaction. it wasnât jealousy, exactlyâit was more like disdain, as if she found the display of chivalry misplaced.
âyouâre good with your hands,â momo teased, her smile wide.
before you could respond, minaâs voice cut through the air like ice. âthey're also good at keeping to themselves.â
the tension was palpable, and momo quickly shifted her focus back to her drink. minaâs pointed heel pressed lightly against momoâs foot beneath the tableânot enough to hurt, but enough to send a clear message.
âeverything okay?â you asked, glancing at mina.
âperfectly fine,â she replied smoothly, her expression unreadable.
the rest of the evening passed in a blur of pleasantries and forced smiles. though you tried to ignore the brewing storm in minaâs eyes
-----
the small town was breathtaking, its charm steeped in tradition and elegance. nestled in the foothills of japan, it was the pride of the myoui clanâa place where time seemed to slow, and every corner spoke of history. the streets were lined with quaint wooden houses, their rooftops adorned with snow from the crisp winter air, and the distant chime of temple bells echoed softly.
you walked beside mina, her cold demeanor wrapped in an aura of regal elegance. she wore a black velvet dress that seemed to ripple with every step, her jewelryâa bracelet, earrings, and a ringâsparkling faintly under the town's lantern light. her look was polished and calculated, every detail deliberate.
you, on the other hand, wore a black turtleneck paired with tailored trousers and a sleek belt. the coat draped over your arm was more for appearances than comfort, and the watch on your wristâa gift from her familyâmatched the sheen of her jewelry.
âthis place,â you murmured, taking in the view of the traditional ryokan where you were staying, âitâs almost unreal.â
mina spared you a glance, her expression unreadable. âitâs home.â
she didnât elaborate, instead gesturing for you to follow her to the town's most esteemed restaurant. it was nestled behind an ornate gate, its walls entwined with creeping ivy and lush greenery. stepping inside felt like entering another worldâeverywhere you looked, there were plants of every shade, their vibrant colors offset by the warm wood and soft lighting.
âthis is impressive,â you admitted, though the compliment wasnât directed at her.
mina simply nodded, selecting a table near a cascading indoor waterfall. as she sat down, she adjusted the hem of her dress, a practiced elegance in every motion.
âtake my picture,â she said suddenly, her tone leaving no room for argument.
âseriously?â you groaned, though a grin tugged at your lips. âhere? now? you know how awkward itâs going to look with you posing in front of all these plants?â
she raised an eyebrow, her gaze sharp. âdo it.â
you sighed, pulling out your phone. âalright, fine. but donât blame me if you look weird.â
she posed, her face tilted slightly to catch the light just right. âstop talking and focus.â
âfocus? you look like youâre trying to win a staring contest with that fern,â you teased, snapping the picture anyway.
she didnât respond, though the faintest twitch of her lips betrayed her amusement.
dinner passed without incident, the food as exquisite as the setting. you traded only minimal conversation, the tension between you both ever-present.
when you finally returned to the ryokan, the air was colder, and mina pulled your coat tighter around her shoulders.
âyouâre keeping that, huh?â you quipped.
âitâs warm,â she replied simply, shrugging it off at the doorway.
âyou go on ahead,â you said, hesitating at the entrance. âiâm going to take a walk.â
she paused, her expression flickering with something unreadable. âdonât stay out too late.â
you nodded, watching as she disappeared into the warm glow of the ryokan.
wandering the streets, your thoughts drifted. the quiet town was a stark contrast to the chaos of the past weeks, but it wasnât entirely unwelcome. as you passed a small flower shop, a memory surfacedâone you hadnât thought of in years.
a girl had been robbed here once, near the very same shop. youâd been nearby, and without thinking, youâd given her your coat to shield her from the winter chill. the details of her face escaped you now, but you remembered her elegance, her soft voice, and those striking boba eyes.
smiling faintly at the memory, you stepped inside the shop and ordered a bouquetâsimple yet elegant.
when you returned to the ryokan, bouquet in hand, you found mina lounging in the common room, now dressed in silk pajamas that looked no less regal. she glanced up, her expression unreadable.
âwhatâs that?â she asked, nodding toward the flowers.
you held them out to her. âfor you.â
she took them, her fingers brushing yours for the briefest moment. âyouâre full of surprises,â she said, though her tone was dry.
âi aim to impress,â you replied with a half-smile, settling on the couch as she arranged the flowers in a nearby vase.
the conversation turned quieter, more contemplative.
âwhy did you agree to this marriage?â she asked suddenly, her eyes fixed on the vase.
you hesitated. âbecause of my father,â you admitted vaguely.
she frowned slightly but didnât press further. âand why did i choose you?â
you looked at her, genuinely curious. âwhy did you?â
âbecause the other clans would have been a disaster,â she said bluntly. âthe takahashi clan is too reckless, the oh family is steeped in scandals, and the sakuragi name carries no real weight anymore. you, at least, are competent and... predictable.â
âwow,â you muttered, half-laughing. âyou really know how to flatter someone.â
she didnât respond, instead gesturing toward the couch. âyouâre sleeping there tonight.â
âobviously,â you said, settling in.
as the night wore on, the conversation softened. she spoke briefly about being an only child, the weight of carrying her familyâs legacy. you listened, your own thoughts heavy but unspoken.
eventually, you felt yourself drifting off. the last thing you remembered was the soft rustle of fabric and the faint scent of her perfume as she draped a blanket over you.
when the lights clicked off and her bedroom door closed, you were left in the quiet darkness, a strange sense of warmth settling over you.
-----
the honeymoon felt like a distant memory now. arriving back in the city, you were thrust immediately into the whirlwind of responsibilities that had been waiting for you. it was in your fatherâs office, a place steeped in heavy tradition and expectations, where the shift became official.
âyouâve earned this again,â your father said, his tone unusually warm as he handed over the legal head directorâs seal. âi always knew you had it in you, even if youâve made... questionable choices in the past. donât disappoint me again.â
the weight of the title settled over you once more, but it was a weight you always welcomed. you nodded, holding the seal tightly. âi wonât.â
for a fleeting moment, there was pride in your fatherâs eyes, a rare sight that stirred something in you.
-----
work consumed you in the days that followed. buried under contracts and meetings, you barely noticed the time slip away. your phone buzzed a few times, but you brushed it aside, focused on finishing a particularly thorny case.
it wasnât until the clock struck 7:45 p.m. that the messages finally caught your attention.
where are you?
youâre supposed to be here.
donât embarrass me.
mina.
your stomach twisted. the event. you had completely forgotten.
grabbing your coat, you rushed out the door, your mind racing. you didnât even have time to reply to her messages.
-----
by the time you arrived, the atmosphere in the grand hall was thick with tension. mina stood in the center of the room, flanked by bambam, momo, and sana. her family and their extended circlesâthe hirais and minatozakisâwatched from the sidelines.
opposite her stood sehun, an heir you recognized immediately. his sharp features were twisted into a smirk, his voice carrying across the room.
âand this is who you trust?â sehun sneered, gesturing toward mina. âdonât act like youâre untouchable,â sehun was saying, his voice loud enough to draw attention. âyour familyâs wealth doesnât protect you from everything. and youââhe pointed at minaââshould know better than to put your trust in someone like that.â
you moved quickly through the crowd, your steps purposeful but unnoticed.
bambam, to his credit, stepped forward, placing himself protectively between sehun and mina. âwatch your tone,â he said, his voice firm.
sehun scoffed, brushing him off. âwhat are you going to do? youâre just a glorified lapdog.â
then, sehun reached for minaâs arm, his fingers just brushing her sleeve.
âenough.â your voice cut through the air like a blade.
all eyes turned to you as you stepped into the circle, your gaze locked on sehun. his hand froze mid-air before he slowly lowered it, his smirk faltering.
but minaâs gaze flickered to you the moment you moved. without hesitation, she brushed past bambam, placing her hand firmly in yours instead. her grip was cold, steady, and there was something almost defiant in the way she looked at sehun.
the room seemed to hold its breath.
âyouâre late,â mina said quietly, her tone clipped.
âi know,â you murmured back.
sehun regained his composure, scoffing as he turned his attention to you. âoh, look who decided to show up. the myoui familyâs latest pawn. what took you so long? busy whining over legal briefs?â
ignoring the insult, you stepped forward, keeping mina behind you. âif thereâs a problem here, iâd be happy to resolve it. professionally, of course. though, judging by your tone, professionalism isnât really your style, is it, sehun?â
his sneer deepened. âdonât act like youâre above it all. youâre nothing but a puppet the myoui family is using to clean up their messes. and when theyâre done, theyâll throw you out like the trash you are.â
you exhaled slowly, forcing a calm smile. âitâs interesting youâd say that, sehun. especially considering how much your family relied on me to âclean up their messâ during that little scandal last year. or did you forget how your father owes me for handling that? because i certainly havenât.â
the color drained from his face, but he recovered quickly, scoffing. âso what? you think your ivy league education makes you untouchable? you think being a lawyer gives you any real power? youâre just a loudmouth who hides behind his desk.â
âi don't think,â you said, your voice light with mock sympathy. âi know it, and i do hide behind my desk sometimes. but when i do, itâs because iâm busy drafting paperwork that could make your life a living hell.â
his eyes narrowed, but before he could respond, you took another step closer, your smile turning razor-sharp. âand for the record, attending an ivy league school does make me smarter than you. but donât let that stop you. if youâre so sure iâm just a âloudmouth,â go ahead. take a swing. prove your point.â
the room went deadly silent. sehunâs fists clenched, his jaw ticking as he debated his options.
before he could act, minaâs hand on your arm pulled you back, her grip firm and commanding. âenough,â she said, her voice low but cutting through the tension like ice.
you turned to look at her, surprised by the faint flicker of protectiveness in her eyes. she didnât let go until she was sure you werenât going to push further.
as mina began to guide you away, her grip firm on your arm, the sound of rushed footsteps behind you caught your attention.
you barely had time to react before sehunâs fist connected with your jaw, sending you stumbling into mina.
gasps filled the room, the collective shock palpable.
âare you out of your mind?!â minaâs fatherâs voice boomed, silencing the crowd. his face was a mix of fury and disbelief as he stepped forward. âthis is an outrage!â
mina was immediately at your side, her cold demeanor replaced with sharp concern. her hand hovered near your face, unsure whether to touch the growing bruise. âare you okay?â she asked, her voice lower than before but laced with urgency.
you waved her off, rolling your shoulder and straightening up, though you can taste the metallic copper on your tongue âiâm fine.â
momo, who had been on the other side of the room, pushed through the crowd, her usual lightheartedness gone. âwhat the hell was that?â she exclaimed, looking between you and sehun. âhe justââ
sehun stood frozen, his chest heaving as he realized the gravity of his actions.
minaâs father turned to him, his glare icy. âyou dare strike one of us? this is disgraceful. youâll pay for this, boy.â
âitâs not worth it,â she said quietly, her tone sharp but steady. âdonât stoop to his level.â
for a moment, you nodded, exhaling slowly as if agreeing to let it go. but then sehun sneered, his voice loud enough for the entire room to hear.
âtypical,â he said, adjusting his tie as if his punch had meant nothing. âno wonder the myouis are desperate. scraping the bottom of the barrel for help. your familyâs a joke, myoui. everyone knows your fatherâs nothing more than a puppet, and your motherâwell, sheâsââ
he didnât finish. he didnât get the chance.
your fist shot out with precision, landing squarely on his jaw with enough force to send him sprawling to the ground. the thud of his body hitting the polished floor was followed by a stunned silence.
âdonât you dare,â you said, your voice low and venomous, âspeak about my wife's family like that.â
sehun groaned, clutching his jaw as he struggled to get up. his confidence shattered, he glared at you with a mix of humiliation and rage.
the room erupted into chaos again. mina gasped, her hand instinctively reaching out but hesitating, while momo let out a delighted laugh.
âoh, this just got interesting,â momo said, her eyes sparkling as she glanced at sana. âdid you see that? mina's spouse got some fight in 'em."
sana, standing off to the side, crossed her arms and raised a brow, unimpressed. âhardly seems worth it,â she muttered, though her gaze lingered on you for a moment longer than necessary.
sehun scrambled to his feet, his face red with both anger and embarrassment. âyouâll regret that,â he spat, lunging forward.
you sidestepped easily, your movements deliberate. âsehun,â you said, your voice laced with mock sympathy, âif i were you, iâd quit while iâm ahead. you donât want me calling your father, do you?â
sehun froze, his bravado faltering.
âthatâs right,â you continued, stepping closer. âyour father still owes me. remember that little scandal? who do you think cleaned that up for him? and if you think heâll side with you over me, think again. iâm a lawyer, sehun. i donât just fight with my fists.â
minaâs grip on your arm tightened briefly before she stepped in front of you, her icy composure unshaken. âthis ends now,â she said, her voice like a blade. she glanced down at sehun with disdain. âget out before you embarrass yourself further.â
sehun opened his mouth to retort, but the weight of the roomâs judgment silenced him. even bambam, who had initially moved to defend mina, stayed back, his gaze flickering between you and sehun.
âyouâve made your point,â mina said, addressing you now. her voice was firm, but there was a flicker of something else in her eyesâwas it gratitude? âletâs go.â
as you followed mina out, momo sidled up beside you, her grin wide. âthat was incredible. one hit, and heâs down. youâre like a knight or something,â she teased, her laughter bubbling up.
minaâs gaze was sharp, but there was a flicker of something softer beneath it. âyou shouldnât have done that,â she said, her tone flat.
âand let him keep running his mouth?â you countered. ânot a chance.â
momo sidled up to you, still grinning like a kid in a candy store. âthat was amazing. youâve got some moves,â she said, nudging your arm.
you chuckled, despite yourself. âdonât get used to it.â
âoh, i wonât,â momo said with a wink, her attention briefly flicking to sana, who rolled her eyes and muttered something under her breath.
as the commotion settled, minaâs father stepped forward, his authoritative voice cutting through the murmurs of the guests. âthis event is over,â he declared, his tone sharp and final. âthank you all for attending.â
the attendees began to disperse, their curiosity about the scandal satiated, though the lingering glances toward you and mina spoke volumes.
you exhaled deeply, the adrenaline fading and the sting of your busted lip becoming more apparent. before you could move, momo appeared at your side, her playful demeanor replaced with genuine concern.
âare you okay?â she asked, her brow furrowed as she leaned closer to inspect your lip.
âiâm fine,â you replied, brushing it off, though the taste of copper on your tongue told a different story.
âyou donât look fine,â momo countered, reaching out as if to help.
before she could, mina swept in with a cool efficiency. she grabbed a folded napkin from one of the nearby tables, her heels clicking decisively against the floor. âiâll handle it,â she said curtly, brushing past momo without so much as a glance.
momo blinked, taken aback, then stepped aside with a small, amused smile. âguess iâm not needed.â
mina tilted your chin down slightly so you could match her height, her touch firm but not unkind, as she dabbed at your split lip. her expression was cold, but her movements were careful, her fingers brushing lightly against your skin.
âyouâre reckless,â she muttered under her breath, her tone both annoyed and something elseâgrateful, maybe. âwhat were you thinking?â
you held her gaze, unfazed by her sharpness. âi was thinking youâre my wife,â you said evenly, your voice carrying a protective edge. âand no one gets to disrespect you or your family while iâm around.â
for a moment, her hand paused, her eyes searching yours as if trying to decipher your sincerity. then, with a soft exhale, she resumed cleaning the wound.
across the room, bambam watched the interaction intently, his jaw tight but his expression unreadable.
as mina finished, her mother approached, her usual proud and stoic demeanor softening as she looked at you. âthank you,â she said quietly, her voice carrying the weight of years of unyielding pride finally yielding, if only briefly.
you nodded, unsure how to respond to such unexpected gratitude.
minaâs father, however, remained stoic, his gaze assessing as he addressed you. âthis couldâve gone very badly,â he said, his tone measured. âbut you handled it... adequately. for now.â
you caught the subtle flicker of approval in his eyes, though he would never say it outright.
âthank you, sir,â you replied simply, your posture still formal despite the circumstances.
as the guests thinned out and the myouis regrouped, mina finally let go of the napkin, her demeanor shifting back to its usual aloofness. âyou should take care of that properly,â she said, her voice clipped but softer than before.
âi will,â you replied, a small smirk tugging at your lips despite the pain. âwouldnât want to ruin the perfect image of the myoui familyâs new... what was it? âpawnâ?â
mina rolled her eyes but didnât respond, her lips pressing into a thin line.
as you walked away with her at your side, momo caught your eye from the corner of the room, giving you a small, conspiratorial thumbs-up. nearby, sana stood with her arms crossed, her expression as unreadable as ever, though the slightest flicker of somethingâapproval?âcrossed her face before she turned away.
the night had been far from perfect, but as you exited the venue with mina, you couldnât help but feel that, for better or worse, you had solidified your place in this worldâand by her side.

Best Halloween Ever
Pairing: BamBam x Reader (ft. Mark Tuan, others) Halloween Party; Non-Idol AU Genre: Fluff Words: 1138
Masterlist | Fictober Masterpost
Taglist:Â Â @soobin-chois
âBam, seriously, you couldnât have told me we were throwing a party, I donât know, before the party is supposed to start?â You asked incredulously at your roommate who was tidying up the kitchen.
âI forgotâŚâ He grimaced, putting away some of our more fragile items.
âForgot? We went costume shopping together. That wouldâve been a great time to tell me. Or maybe even this morning would have been the least you couldâve done. Not literally minutes before your friends are going to arriveââ
âTheyâre your friends too.â He interrupted, frowning. You had met your roommateâs friends on several occasions but still didnât like to claim them as friends of your own out of respect. You didnât want BamBam to think you were trying to steal his friends, and you didnât want anyone inviting you places out of obligation or pity. So, instead, you often distanced yourself. BamBam hated that.
Especially because BamBam had been not only trying to incorporate you into the friend group since you both began living together, but also because he had been trying to figure out how to tell you for months that he had an embarrassingly large crush on you.
âGo get ready. Iâll finish cleaning and setting up.â He said, shooing you off.
đ
You didnât emerge for another hour. It hadnât taken you that long to get ready, though. Your costume was a simple dotted dress, puppy ears, and black and white makeup. You elected not to wear the collar that you bought as a joke. BamBam had wanted to wear matching costumes this year but also really wanted to gender-bend Cruella de Vil, so you offered to be a dalmatian.
The party was definitely in full swing by now, made quite obvious from the music and loud talking heard through the thin walls of your shared house, but you had not worked up the courage to emerge from the safety of your room. You had no doubts, however, that if you took any longer, your energetic roommate would come drag you from your confines.
So you quietly snuck from your room to the kitchen, needing to have something in hand while you braved the actual party, whether that be snacks or alcohol.
When you did finally make your way out into the living room, you realized just how much effort BamBam had put into this party.
He had really gone all out, which of course he had, and many in attendance had matched his energy with their costumes. As you searched for your costume partner, your eyes roamed the attendees, picking out your favorite costumes among the faces that were familiar to you.
On one of your couches, Taehyung dressed as a robot sat chatting to Namjoon and his new girlfriend. They were wearing a cute matching dryad set. You spotted Lisa and her fianceĂŠ in matching vampire costumes, staring each other down like they wanted to literally take a bite out of one another. Yugyeom was on the dance floor with his best friend, oddly wearing couple costumes of an angel and a devil. You wondered what was going on thereâŚ
A tap on your shoulder brought you out of your search and you turned to find someone covered in a white bedsheet with the eye holes cut out standing behind you.
âBoo.â Your roommateâs best friend said in a kind yet monotone voice. Mark, also a bit of an introvert, had unfortunately come alone. His new roommate wanted to hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters since it was her first Halloween living in a smaller town where kids actually went out at night.
âHave you seen Bam?â You asked him, comfortable with him enough that you didnât feel rude asking. He merely shrugged.
âHeâs everywhere. You know how he is during parties.â He then gestured to your cup. âNeed a refill? Itâs hot under the sheet, Iâm gonna go cool off in the kitchen.â
You shook your head, tilting the cup to show its fullness. âI only just now joined everyone. I shouldnât go into hiding yet.â He chuckled and nodded before heading off to the kitchen.
You resumed your scanning, spotting Youngjae and his friend both wearing witch costumes. Near them were Yuna and Ryujin laughing next to the makeshift bar, dressed as a mummy and purple alien respectively, while Minho smirked at his own joke, golf club splattered with fake blood perched on his shoulder. You werenât exactly sure who he was supposed to be, but it was festive regardless.
Finally you spotted your roommate, chatting lively with a twisted-fairy version of Felix. You walked over to the pair, matching Felixâs bright smile when he saw your approach.
âHi, Y/N, you look so cute!â He stated before looking between BamBam and you, connecting the dots. âOh, I see.â He mumbled with a knowing smirk before walking away.
You watched in confusion, âWhat was that about?â
âDonât worry about it, you know how Felix can be.â Bam joked, smiling and secretly checking you out. âWhere have you been?â
You scoffed, jokingly glaring. âAs if you even knew I wasnât out here. Youâre always running between conversations.â He frowned slightly at your statement, but you took a sip of your drink at the same time and didnât notice.
đ
You had somehow gotten roped into a debate over the correct way to eat an Oreo. Werewolf-Yeonjun was arguing that biting into the sandwich cookie was perfectly normal, but Medusa-Soobin and his statue-girlfriend were on the side of pulling it apart. You didnât really have an opinion either way but took to arguing Yeonjunâs side with him just for the sake of fairness.
You were in the middle of nodding along to Yeonjunâs point when suddenly you were being dragged away by your wrist. You were about to protest and snap when you realized it was just your roommate.
âWe need to take pictures.â He stated, bringing you along to a moody lit corner. Markâs sheet lay discarded at his feet and he was holding up BamBamâs phone, ready to take pictures.
You and BamBam took several in-character pictures, and when he started looking through them over Markâs shoulder, you moved to leave. Bam grabbed you and brought you back over, though, before you got too far.
âJust a few more.â He said and wrapped his arms around your waist from behind, pulling you flush against him. You looked over your shoulder at him confused, but he only tilted his head and smirked. The flash of the camera went off and then Bam leaned in, kissing you passionately. The angle was a bit awkward, but you were happy enough to deal with it.
The camera flashed several more times before BamBam released his lips from yours and smiled down at you.
âHappy Halloween.â
âBest Halloween party ever.â

Your Crush: Park Jinyoung
âSo⌠Y/N, truth or dareâ
You and some of your friends were having a sleepover! It was fun! And everyone was in a comfy mess of giggles and pillows you hesitated, telling the truth seemed easier but at what cost? A dareâŚwell, the possibilities were kinda endless,
âTruth!â You said confidently,
Your friend thought carefully,
âOk so, who do you think is the most attractive person in school and why?â
You blushed furiously, you hadnât told this to anyone and was seriously debating lying but, rules are rules
âUmmm if I had to pickâŚIâd sayâŚJinyoung?â You blushed again burying your face in your hands! Your friends all gasped and grinned and immediately asked you what you liked about him,
âUmmmm well, I think heâs really sweet!â You said quietly
âHe doesnât really talk much though!â One of your friends said
âI know but when he does he knows what he wants to say! And he doesnât joke as much as the other people in school, I think heâs quite a gentle genuine soul, itâs nice being around him. Heâs so handsome and he has a beautiful voice! â There was no shame in liking him and you were sure that your friends would keep it to themselves right?
You found out soon that this was as much of a fantasy as a fairy story.
A few days later you were walking down the school hall and you saw one of your friends talking toâŚoh noâŚJINYOUNG!!! You tried for the rest of the day to not
think about it, but that was like trying not to imagine purple elephant with blue spots, your mind was hyper-focused on what your friend had said to Jinyoung that day. Everywhere you turned, you seemed to bump into him, and he always seemed to be around the corner . At lunch, you ran into the bathroom, into a stall and breathed heavily into your hands, trying to calm yourself down, does she like him too? Does he like her? DID SHE TELL HIM ABOUT HER CRUSH?! You shook your head furiously! NoâŚno! You were being silly, why worry about it! You canât take it back now so whatever happens will happen right? You couldnât control it and if he asked you about itâŚyou swallowed hard, youâd be honest! There wasnât much else you could do! Straightening up, you walked slowly into your next class.
âWeâll be pairing you up for a small in-class assignment todayâ said the art teacher, you need to work together to create the picture using clay!â She began handing out the terracotta coloured cubes to the class, and allocating pairs âLuke, pair up with Laila over there! Jessy go sit next to Carmen!â At this point you had shut your eyes tightly and had every finger crossed; praying to every deity that you knew âPlease donât sit him next to me please!!â You heard the scrape of a stool next to you and gulped hard. There was silence next to you, slowly, you opened your eyes and turned⌠there sat next to you holding the cube of clay in one hand and a second apron in the other, was none other than Park Jinyoung.
âHeyâŚumâŚare you ok?â
âYeahâ you squeaked in a tiny voice once you remembered how to breathe
âYou sure? You had your eyes shut really tight! Are you in pain?â
âNo no not at all!â You shook your head quickly trying to act nonchalant
âOk..soâŚshall we get started?â
He placed the clay down along with some carving tools and you both set to work. In silence. I mean what could you say to each other?! This was so embarrassing! UntilâŚ
âHey Y/N I wanted to talk to you about-â
but he never got he chance to finish what he was saying! The pressure of the whole day was weighing on you, and you were desperate to say something! And so it all slipped out!
âYeah I said I liked you! Itâs true! I do I really like you! But I wasnât planning on telling you like this! But then maybe I wasnât gonna tell you at all itâs just I know you heard stuff and so I might as well come out and say it right? And Iâd rather you hear it from me because I do like you! Itâs not a big deal! I shouldnât be ashamed of that right?â You finished, panting and blowing like you had run the marathon everything in your mind just couldnât hold it in anymore but the relief of the confession was short lived. The mounting embarrassment only grew as you realised you had just blurted out a confession! You just babbled in front of Jinyoung about how you liked him!
âUm, that wasnât what I was going to say,â said Jinyoung a little flabbergasted âI was going to say I wanted to talk to you about the history homework but this must have been on your mind!â
Your whole body stiffened and a huge tsunami of shame washed over you. Once again you put your head in your hands. You just wished the ground would swallow you up! Until you heard a chuckle coming from next to you! Was he laughing? There was nothing to laugh about in your mind! But then, you heard a soft voice by your ear
â Youâre cute when you blush! Did you know that? Itâs ok I like you too!â

I have a request. Will you do a oneshot where it's your wedding day and you have a flashback on how Jackson enlisted the help of all the members to help him setup a treasure hunt proposal? At the end the you're crying happy tears because you are pronounced as husband and wife?
Thank you for the request! I hope you like it.
Title: Mrs. Wang
Genre: Fluff
Word count: 1.5K
The fresh smell of orchids filled your nose as soon as the double doors opened and revealed your grand entrance.
The room was filled with guests consisting of your closest family and friends. It was an elegant and intimate wedding adorned with pearl and satin accents and highlighted with the most beautiful shade of Robinâs egg blue. Several gasps were heard and all eyes were on you as you gracefully began to walk down the aisle to your soon-to-be husband, Mr.Jackson Wang. He stared at you lovingly, tears pooling his eyes at first sight of you in your wedding dress. As you continued to make your way towards him, you couldnât help but admire his handsome appearance. He was dressed in a classic tuxedo and his chocolate brown hair was swept to the side with gel. Jacksonâs thick brows helped highlight the rest of his sharp features, from his deep, dark brown eyes to his plump lips that you were dying to kiss.
As you neared the altar, you spotted Jacksonâs best man, Jaebum quietly handing him a small handkerchief as a sign to dry his teary eyes. Jaebum earned a thumbs up from Yugyeom and BamBam who were sitting in the front row along with Jinyoung, Youngjae and Mark. It wasnât long before Jackson dried his tears and walked down the three small steps to meet you. âYouâre so beautifulâ he whispered just before taking your hand into his and leading you up the steps to the altar. In that moment you felt like you could turn to mush just seeing how he smiled at you so lovingly. Jackson remembered how nervous you were just the day before seeing as you wanted everything to go perfectly smooth. You had been planning this wedding for months and now that the day was finally here, you hoped your hard work had paid off. However, all negative thoughts instantly vanished as Jackson held both of your hands and gently rubbed his thumbs against your fingers, almost as if to give you that nonverbal reassurance you didnât know you needed.
The officiant began reciting his usual script just after thanking everyone for coming together to witness the lifelong commitment you and Jackson were about to make. Before you knew it, you were suddenly drowning out the officiantâs voice and taking in every single word your fiance uttered before you. Jackson spoke from the heart, looking you in the eyes as he first mentioned how you took his breath away when he first laid eyes on you all those years ago. He made the crowd laugh when he briefly mentioned having to pull out all his smooth moves on you just to give him your number back in the day. You couldnât help but let out a chuckle as well as you reminisced about your beginning and all the good times youâve had that led up to this moment.
Jackson bit his bottom lip as he looked at you with tears growing in his eyes again. He bit down on his lip a little too hard, almost as if to stop his voice from shaking before taking a deep breath. âYou are my everything,â he added. You looked up at him and smiled while you felt your own tears forming. âI admire you so much.â Jackson said, âYouâre the kindest, most loving person I know and I wake up everyday wanting to be the best version of myself because of you. Thank you for always being by my side and I promise to always be by yours. I love you, _____.âÂ
By this point, tears were cascading down your face before you took a deep breath to begin exchanging your vows. Similarly to Jackson, you declared your infinite love for him and emphasized the impact he has had on your life just as you had his. You spoke of the many moments of laughter and love you two shared throughout the years and made sure to mention just how much he means to you before the officiant continued reciting his script and allowed you two to exchange wedding bands. You watched as Jackson gently placed the band on your finger before locking eyes with you again. After a few more moments, you were suddenly wrapping your arms around his neck as he dipped you and bestowed a kiss just after the coordinator said, âyou may kiss your bride.â
The crowd erupted with cheers and chants in celebration of your new milestone. You stood at the altar with Jackson hand in hand, taking in the special moment as you both faced the crowd. You watched as Jacksonâs best friends, or more like brothers in the first row whistled and cheered you two on. It brought a smile to your face as the sight of them reminded you of how you two got to this point in the first place - the proposal.Â
You remembered how Jackson had recruited the boys to set up a sort of âtreasure huntâ like proposal for you. It started with a sly little note at home, with details and clues of where to find your dress, shoes and accessories Jackson had bought for you for the night. He then had Youngjae drive you to your next destination, which was one of the best hotels in the city. Once you arrived you were greeted by Mark, Yugyeom and Jinyoung and instructed to find more clues that would lead you to the âtreasure.â âGuys what is going on,â you would occasionally ask as you followed a trail of rose petals and made your way through the hotel and towards the back door. Throughout your search you would find short love notes and compliments seemingly from Jackson along the way.
âIs this what I think it is?â You asked with a big smile when you saw Jaebum and BamBam. You could feel your heart pounding as you neared them and noticed BamBamâs mischievous smile. âI donât know. Only one way to find out,â BamBam chimed as he opened the door for you and motioned for you to continue. You will never forget the butterflies you felt as you exited the back door and found yourself walking along the beach at sunset just before catching sight of Jackson. He was standing before the ocean with his hands clasped together, almost as if he had been just as nervous as you were. He was dressed in a white button down and khaki trousers rolled up to his knees.
âJackson!â You cheered as you made your way to him a little quicker. âCome here,â he chuckled as he eagerly awaited your arrival. âWhat are you doing out here?â You giggled as he immediately pulled you in for a hug as soon as you reached him. âI know the beach makes you happy, so I wanted to bring you here,â he answered in a calm tone. You smiled at him before looking out to the ocean, admiring how beautiful it looked as the sun set over it. âYeah thereâs nothing quite like this view,â you hummed.Â
âOr you,â Jackson added. âThereâs no one quite like you, _____.â He said while admiring you and causing you to look at him once more. You watched as he swiftly reached into his pocket and pulled out a beautiful ring. âJackson-â you gasped as he kneeled in front of you. âI mean it, ____. Thereâs no one else in the world like you. Youâre one of a kind and you mean so much to me.â He confessed. Jackson gazed upon your beauty and suddenly became at a loss for words as he began to stumble upon his next thought. âTo be honest, I had a whole script planned out in my head, but looking at you now. Wow.â He smiled. âI just canât think of what else to say now other than I love you. Will you make me the happiest man on Earth and marry me?âÂ
You gasped as you heard those words come out of his mouth. You had dreamed of this day so long as it was one-step closer to marrying the love of your life. âYes of course!â You exclaimed before jumping into his arms and kissing him tenderly. You were surprised as fireworks erupted from above and the rest of the boys appeared, shouting and cheering in awe as their best friend was set to marry the one who made his heart full.Â
Those same cheers echoed in your mind as you came back to reality and smiled at Jacksonâs life-long friends just before he whisked you up and yelled, âThis is my wife!â To everyone in excitement. âOh my gosh,â you laughed at his antics as more cheers erupted. âAlready announcing it to the world?â You added. âYes!â Jackson beamed. âNow, how about we get out of here, Mrs. Wang?â he asked with a grin and you nodded. âLetâs do it-â you barely uttered before Jackson took off with you in his arms and ran down the aisle. You nearly screamed in surprise and held onto him for dear life with your bouquet barely hanging on. You tossed the flowers aside to gain a better grip as Jackson neared the car outside. âMrs. Wang,â you cooed. âI like the sound of that.â

Relaxing
Summary: After a long day at work, you get to spend the rest of the day relaxing with Bambam and your four cats.Â
OneshotÂ
Domestic Fluff, Established Relationship au
Word Count: 1,262
Bambam X Reader
Requested: I wonder if you can go a lil BamBam fluff :DD Like not over the top fluff but like domestic home fluff? Like reader comes home to a cozy house of BamBam and cats?? Idk, do what you feel is right! Love youuuuuu đ
[A/n: I did name ½ of the cats. But seriously they can have any name you wish. (One is named King like Bamâs real cat but not an imitation). I donât write about Got7 too much anymore, if that. I still love them but not enough to write about them. Anyways, the reason I took this is because Iâve known and been friends with this person in real life for many years. On top of having inspiration for it. And today she starts her new job, and I wish her lots of luck. Anyways, love ya too! Hope this is to your cup of tea!]
------
Youâve waited for the weekend to come since the dawn of Monday, wanting to be back in Bambamâs arms. But with you both working different schedules, it was hard to be home together. As you clock out, you canât help but feel giddy. You race out of the building, barely saying goodbye to anyone before hopping in your car. Your phone rings as if he knew, âHey, Baby, are you on your way?â You grin, âYeah, Iâll be home in ten. Do you want anything while Iâm out?â He hums and says, âNo, just you. I ordered your favorite, by the way.â You thank him and say your goodbyes, and after checking the coast that the was clear, you barrel out of the parking lot, looking forward to a long weekend of cuddling and relaxing.Â
You canât help but smile as you see your shared home. Back before you bought a house together, he always felt like home. And now that youâre living together, it felt surreal, no matter how many times you return. You call into the house as you set your keys down, âBabe, Iâm home~â He calls back, âIn the living room!â You smile and reach the living room and see a precious site. Curled up on his lap are two of the four cats you share. You quickly snap a photo, and then he catches sight of you, âIâm so happy youâre home. Iâve missed you all week.â âIâve missed you too, Bam.âÂ
Thatâs when the other two unoccupied cats hear that you are home. You hear their loud meows before you see them. You smile softly as the one comes up and walks between your legs, and you pick it up and kiss it while the other leads you to your shared bedroom. The cats hop onto your bed as you change into your pajamas, waiting for you to finish cleaning up. They follow you back to the living room, where you settle beside Bambam.Â
He smiles, wraps his arm around your shoulders, and pulls you into his side. Your workday starts to weigh on you as you rest your head against his shoulders. He asks, âYou want to tell me about your day?â You shake your head no, and he kisses your forehead, âYou donât have to. Iâm glad youâre home.â The two kitties who followed you hop onto your lap, and Bam chuckles, âSeems like theyâre glad, too.â You sigh, âThis is nice. Itâs good to be home.â He nods and lets you have your moments of rest and peace.
Once you unwind from your long day at work, you start scratching the fuzzy gray cat behind the ears, and she instantly starts purring. The other wakes up from the noise and gives you a look, and you let out a light laugh before using your other hand to scratch their neck. The cats on Bamâs lap stretch out and look up to find your home. The one nuzzles into Bamâs chest and asks for pets, which he willingly gives him. While the other, with its outstretched paws, starts making biscuits on both of your legs. Which makes you both laugh as you sit there basking in the moment. The doorbell rings. Bam scoots his cat onto your lap, which causes the one that was lying on his chest to hop off and head to the kitchen to get his food. You both laugh, and he pulls his arm out from behind you and gets up. Once heâs off the couch, the other curls up against your leg where Bambam was sitting.Â
You smile at the three cats and wait for Bam to return, âWhatcha get?â He grins as he reminds you, âYour favorite.â You give him a small smile, âI thought itâd be a good way to cheer you up.â You agree, and he pulls the coffee table closer to you. He goes to the kitchen, pulls out the utensils, and two drinks for you two. He returns, opens your cans, and hands you your meal so you donât risk the three cats moving away. But alas, they do, smelling that itâs mealtime. âDid you give them their cans of food?â He nods, âYeah, but the two here,â gesturing to the ones on your lap, âDidnât want to eat until you returned.â âAnd what about Lamb Chop?â He laughs, âShe already ate. Thatâs why sheâs so content lying against us.â You laugh, and she moves into your lap after the two who smell pasta hop down to eat their fishy dinners in the kitchen. She rolls over as Bam sits back down and lays across the two of you, âThe baby⌠Always getting what she wants.â He laughs, âAlways. Howâs our little lamb chop?â She purrs as the two of you rub her belly before digging into your food.Â
She hops down as you two finish eating. Bam gets up and takes your trash, âThanks, Bambi.â He smiles, âNo problem, Thumper.â You both laugh and after, he throws away the garbage. The two of you go and wash up after your meal. He grabs your hand in his, stopping you in your tracks, âDo you want to watch TV or head to bed?â You think about it before deciding, âSleep sounds really good right now.â He smiles, brings you into his chest, and holds you, âOkay.â You nuzzle your face into his chest as you sigh. He runs his fingers through your hair and helps you calm down even further. He waits for you to part from the embrace before he asks, âReady?â You nod, and he leads you both to your bed and lifts the comforter up for you to get under. You give him a light smile as he gets under the covers on his side before tucking you in and wrapping himself around you.Â
You hear scratching at the door, âDid you let them in?â He groans, âThatâs what I forgot!â He clambers out of bed, unraveling himself before opening their mini door. One of them huffs at him, and he sasses, âKing, weâve talked about this. You get huffy with me. You wonât get any treats.â King huffs at him again, and Bam grumbles as he defeatedly makes his way back to bed. You roll over to face him as he climbs back in and gets under the blanket, âYou, okay? Did the big bad kitty-cat give you attitude?â He pouts and nods his head. You ruffle his hair and kiss his cheek, âAw, itâs okay, Bammie. Heâll purr, and youâll forget all about it.â He nods, and lo and behold, King makes his way between you two and rubs up against him. âAll is forgiven, little man. Youâll get your treat in the morning as usual.â You look towards King, then at Bam, then at King, and back at Bam before he gets it. And gently moves King from in between you two and kisses your nose, âIs someone jealous?â You pout, âBamâŚâ Which causes him to grin, âYour pout is so cute, baby.â And kisses your lips, âI love you, now letâs get some sleep.â You whisper back, âI love you too.â He turns off the overhead light with a command and turns on the lower light so you can rest at ease. He rolls you over, and you both laugh as he drags you into his arms. Your cats find their places around you two to sleep. And for the next two days, you can relax and spend them merrily with him and your four fur babies.

âStop interrupting me!â - BamBam
A/N: Have an excitable birthday BamBam! It is suggestive, but not actually smutty.
It was BamBamâs birthday birthday and you had taken it upon yourself to organise a surprise for him. Heâd spent the night before with you so you were lazing in bed togther first thing on May 2nd.
âYou know,â you told him as you lay together, playing with his fingers, âI have planned something special for you today.â
âOh yeah?â he asked, raising his eyebrows suggestively.
âNot that,â you said before backtracking. âI mean, as well as that. Iâm not denying you sex on your birthday.â
âThank you.â
âYouâre welcome. But as I was saying, I have arranged something-â
âLike a date?â he cut you off.
âNo, itâs more like part of your present from me,â you tried to continue.
âSomething you bought me?â
âNo-â
âOoh, like an experience day?â
âBamBam,â you snapped. âStop interrupting me.â
âHey, you canât shout at me on my birthday,â he complained.
âWell, you keep butting in before I can tell you, so I can only assume you donât want to know,â you teased. âIâll just have to enjoy it myself.â
âNo, Iâm sorry,â he apologised. âPlease tell me, Iâll be quiet.â
âOk, thank you. So, Iâve made some calls, and managed to arrange for GOT7 to all be here in the same country at the same time. They are coming here at 1 to celebrate with you.â
âNo way!â BamBam exclaimed. âIncluding Jackson and Mark?â
âYup, all 6 of them are coming,â you confirmed, delighted at the reaction you got.
âAh man, itâs been too long. Babe, this was such a sweet thing to do,â he said, looking genuinely touched. âHow? Actually, how doesnât matter. Just thank you for doing it.â
âNo problem, I thought you might like to see them again.â
âOh, you said they wonât be here til 1 right?â
âYeah?â you replied with a question, trying to work out his train of thought.
âWell, I do believe you promised me sex, and there is plenty of time before they get here...â he trailed off.
You couldnât help but smile.
âHmm, I think there might be time,â you agreed. âHappy birthday, babe,â you added before pressing your lips to his.

I Think I Love You â Pairing: Bambam x Fem!Reader Tags: 2.1k, Fluff, Humor, Friends to Lovers, GOT7 Valentine Collection 2020 Summary: In which Bambam rescues you from the company party and makes a rooftop confession to you under the stars. Itâs kind of magical.
â GOT7 Valentine Collection 2020
This has got to be the lamest Valentineâs Day ever. As if it werenât sad enough to be spending it alone, you were spending it at a company party. Not like there is anything wrong with your co-workers or anything, you like them. Most of them. Itâs just the idea of having to mingle with other people outside of working hours while dealing with your bosses emotional outbursts and mood swings.
The tea in the break room is that your boss was finally caught in the illicit affair he has been poorly hiding from his wife and she left him high and dry. He has been absolutely beside himself with grief and his latest coping mechanism is âteam bondingâ and âpositivityâ in the workplace, in other words, he is lonely. Which led to this disastrous plan.
Because he makes it a point to know everyoneâs business, your boss had technically invited all employees but he had been pushing the singles, hard. He would casually slip it into every conversation and when you would try to politely decline he tried to guilt you into accepting. Being the nice person you sometimes wish you werenât you agreed to come tonight and that is how you ended up sitting alone at a folding table with a glass full of bitter champagne listening to Doris, the nice old lady who works in accounting, talk about her thirty-eight-year-old grandson who is âjust so handsomeâ and âthe perfect match for youâ.
You grimace into your glass as the woman drones on and just as you muster the courage to excuse yourself, your salvation comes in the form of a friend you hadnât expected to see here tonight. He strolls up to the table, long legs clad in a pair of fashionably frayed light wash jeans, a black v-neck sweater, and shiny black boots. His platinum hair is pushed back and styled to perfection and you canât hide the smirk that finds your lips as he approaches.
âDoris! Looking good! How is your grandson?â Bambam asks the elder woman, capturing her weathered hand in his own and patting it lightly, âDid he finally move out of your basement?â
Doris chuckles, completely oblivious and entirely enraptured by Bambamâs charm, âOh, no dear. He is just so busy doing research for his new book that he doesnât have time to look for a new apartment!â
Your eyes widen comically at that. Not only is she trying to hook up you up with a man much older than you, by several years, but she was also trying to set you up with a âfailure to take flightâ. Oh, Doris.
âAh, well I am sure he will get around to it eventually,â Bambam replies gently, âOh, I think Arthur was looking for you, just over...there,â He points out another elderly account, sure to keep her locked in conversation and away from you.
Doris mutters a quick âgoodbyeâ and âsuch a nice boyâ to Bambam and you both watch her waddle over to the other side of the room, waiting until she was out of earshot.
âWhat in the world are you doing here?â You laugh, taking another reluctant sip from your glass.
âI knew you were too nice to say no,â He smirks, âAnd I knew you were going to need someone to rescue you from this shit show.â
âOh? Are you here to rescue me?â You tease him, abandoning your glass on the table and crossing your arms to look up at him, âAre you my âknight in shining armorâ then?â
âI can be whatever you need me to be, baby,â He flirts back and the devilish smirk he wears makes your skin tingle in all the right places.
âWell then get me out of here and literally anywhere else.â
The crisp night air feels good on your skin as you step onto the roof of Bambamâs townhouse. Itâs relatively quiet for the outer part of the city, only intermittent sounds of passing cars reach your ears but you tune it out for the soothing sounds of the breeze tossing your hair around your shoulders lightly. You roll your shoulders a bit, pulling your sweater around you as you lean over the railing to view the street below.
âSometimes, I think you like my rooftop better than your own apartment,â Bam comments and you smile to yourself because he is partially right. He set down the items you left him to carry on his own, the wine, two glasses, and a big fluffy blanket on the patio table and moved to join you at the railing, handing you a very full glass, just the way you like it.
âItâs just so peaceful and quiet up here, you know?â You half-whisper, eyes gazing at the few stars peeking through the night sky.
Bam sips from his glass, looking up at the constellation twinkling into existence, âYeah, it is,â He pauses thoughtfully, âUnless youâre up here.â
You turn to scoff at him, amused and only partially offended, making him cackle at your face. It is true that you have turned his rooftop patio into your own getaway and Bam lets you rant and rave about your every frustration but most of the time he just sits and listens to you talk about whatever comes to your mind. You once even joked about paying him for his counseling services since you were up here so often.
You met Bambam about a year ago when you joined the company you now both work for. He was the first friendly face you met, if not a little overwhelming what with the fact that he is both gorgeous and terminally ridiculous. You immediately clicked with his jovial personality and the way he could make any sarcastic comment sound endearing to your co-workers and the two of you have been good friends ever since.
âWhy arenât you off on some hot date tonight?â You nudge him, turning away from the view to peer up at him.
âWho says Iâm not?â He returns smoothly and you give him a little grin that makes his stomach do flips.
âHuh,â You cluck your tongue, running it over your top teeth thoughtfully, âYouâre extra cheeky tonight, arenât you? In the holiday spirit, Bammie?â You chuckle.
âWhy wouldnât I be? Itâs a perfectly clear night, we have good wine, and Iâve got you here,â He winks at you, backing away slowly to let you absorb his words and grinning when your eyes narrow, following his movements with an unconstrained smile.
You move away from the railing and collapse next to Bambam on the comfortable love seat, kicking off your shoes and pulling your feet underneath you. You donât even have to ask before Bam is grabbing the blanket off the table and settling it over the both of you. Sipping on your wine you both sit in companionable silence for a bit and you let your head hang back against the cushions, staring back up at the sky.
Bambam catches himself staring at your profile and this time he doesnât look away like he normally does when he loses himself in you. Instead, he takes his time appreciating the slope of your nose and the way you slightly purse your lips. He follows the column of your throat and the way your chest rises steadily as you inhale the night air. Itâs times like this where he has to physically hold himself back from touching you.
He aches to feel your warmth against him and to feel the tickle of your hair as the breeze picks up. He wants to reach out and trace over your brow lightly, especially when its furrowed in thought and he begs himself to be brave enough to smooth the lines of worry away. Mostly, he wants to feel your pouted lips against his own. To feel your hands on his skin, holding him close. To hear you call him your own.
Bambam is lost in thought when you crack an eye open to watch him. You notice that he is staring blankly at your hand, wrapped around the base of your wine glass and you wonder what is going on in his head. The way he tugs on his bottom lip, deep in thought, makes you want to press your thumb to it and gently ease it from between his teeth and maybe place it between your own.
It hasnât always been like this. You had both started this friendship with no intention of falling for the other but sometimes things, people, are meant to be.
âBam,â You whisper, swirling the liquid in your glass slowly, methodically, and he looks up to you in a daze, âYouâve got a bit ofâŚâ You trail off, reaching out with your middle finger to wipe a drop of red wine from the corner of his mouth but he catches you off guard when he captures your hand before you pull it away, bringing it to his lips and kissing the pad of your finger gently.
âI think Iâm in love with you,â He says quietly, realizing what he just did and that he is still holding your hand suspended in mid-air, âI understand if you donât feel the same, but I donât think I can keep it to myself any longer. Iâm really sorry if itâs unexpected or makes you uncomfortable in our friendship.â
Instead of answering Bambam you pull your hand away from him slowly and his face falls as he watches you stand from the seat and take his wine, setting both glasses on the table. He looks defeated and is already dreading the sight of you walking away from him but you take a deep breath before settling yourself in Bambamâs lap and his hands come around you tentatively, his eyes wide and full of wonder.
Looping your arms around his neck you brush your thumbs over the neatly trimmed hair at the base of his head and say nothing as you lean in and kiss him softly, just a whisper of a touch before pulling back to look at him, âYouâre super cute when youâre nervous. I donât see that look on you very often,â You giggle at the awestruck look on his face.
âYouâre the only person who can actually make me nervous,â He admits with a small smile, hands resting more confidently on your lower back now. âIâve been wanting to tell you for months but every time I got the courage, I thought about how shitty it would be if it ruined what we had and I never got to watch you smiling up at the stars on my rooftop again.â
You would be lying if you said his words didnât make your insides melt a bit.
âWhat made you change your mind?â You ask quietly, moving one hand away from his neck to settle against his chest, your finger tracing the warm skin exposed by his low cut sweater.
Bambam smiles softly, a faint blush warming his cheeks as he lifts a hand to your face, cupping your cheek adoringly, âI got tired of waiting to kiss you.â
Youâre caught off guard when he crashes your lips together and tangles one hand in your hair while the other holds you tight against him, his fingers splayed over your hip. Falling into him is the easiest thing youâve ever done and you know without a doubt that this is how you were always meant to be, in his arms, kissing him softly beneath the moonlight.
You pull away to speak or just catch your breath but Bambam trails after you, keeping you locked in the kiss until youâre tapping his shoulder, in desperate need of oxygen. You shakily inhale, keeping your forehead pressed against his own. You only manage a breathy âBam, Iâ before heâs kissing you again like he just canât help himself. Not after all this time heâs spent holding himself back and so you let him take what he needs for as long as he needs to.
After what feels like hours tangled up in each otherâs arms, youâre sprawled out on the love seat between Bambamâs legs, your back to his chest and head laid back against his shoulder with his arms encasing you comfortably. The quiet is peaceful, soothing. It allows you to listen to his steady heartbeat through his chest and the quiet melody he hums to you.
âBam,â You whisper, not wanting to disrupt the moment but needing to say what you had tried to say earlier before he stole your kisses once more, âI think I love you too.â
âWell, thatâs a relief,â He chuckled happily, âWork would have been super awkward on Monday!â

Fuzzy Accident (M) | bb
pairing: bambam x fem! reader genre: one shot, smut, slight fluff with humor warnings: mature content, detailed sexual content, dirty talking, overstimulation, restriction, multiple orgasms words: 818 summary: bambam's plan for a sexy night is going well until he accidentally makes a mistake with a pair of handcuffs. A/N: I wrote this while talking to a friend and I referred to bambam as "sir bamithbamith" so do with that information as you will
image isnât mine, credit to owner!
Fingers tangled in his locks while Bambam ran his tongue over your neck, you both clung to each other in the elevator. Bambam set up the perfect date, treating you to a gourmet dinner, a nice bottle of fine wine, and even spoiled you with some new jewelry.
"The night's not over, though," he smirked as he pulled you through the door of your shared apartment, leading you toward the bedroom.
His lips were already on yours, hands skimming over your dress. Enchanted by his scent, and a little tipsy from the wine, you fell back against the hallway wall with a giggle. He pinned you there, lifting the fabric up and off of your body as his eyes looked over your skin.
"Ah!" he yelled, looking into your eyes. "Always beautiful."
You couldn't help but smile as he lifted you from the ground, his arm wrapped under your thighs as your arms instinctively went around his neck while he carried you. The bedroom smelled like roses, the dim light setting the mood as he dropped you on the bed and began to undo the buttons of his silk shirt.
"I have an idea!" he gleamed, looking down at you as he undid the button of his ripped jeans.
He smirked at you, turning and opening his nightstand, putting his index finger and thumb into the drawer and lifting out a pair of black, fuzzy handcuffs.
"You have got to be kidding me!" you cackled as you sat up on the bed, pulling at the heel of your flats to toss them across the room.
"What?" he questioned with a small pout. "People use them during sex all the time!"
He watched you continue to laugh at the pair of cuffs, tossing them by your head as he moved over you. He tugged your underwear off and started rubbing at your core as your laugh dwindled immediately, turning into a loud moan as he made gentle circles.
"Not so funny now, huh?" his grin made you moan louder, arms moving to grip at his forearms while he began leaving small bites at the crook of your neck, smiling at the ones he made in the elevator earlier.
His fingers moved faster, making you rock against his hand as he sent you into an orgasm. His head moved from your neck to your breasts, lifting one out of your bra and enveloping your nipple into his mouth while sucking, riding you through your climax.
He shifted to his knees on either side of you, your legs wrapped around his waist as he shuffled off his loosely hanging clothes until he was naked above you. Putting his hands behind your back, he unlatches your bra and tosses it near your shoes as he grinds down into your core.
You both moan from the contact, rising and falling in unison as his member grazes your core. He bolts off you, grabbing a condom from the nightstand and covering himself properly before returning to you, gently filling you. Starting out slow, he rocks both of you into the soft duvet covering the mattress as you call out his name.
"Bam!" you scream, nails digging into his back muscles as he picks up his pace.
Ramming you into the bed with as much forceas possible, the sturdiness of the bed frame lets up and begins a creaking sound. You're both panting, getting closer to your high. You stare up at Bambam, watching the cogs in his brain turn as he slams into you once more, grabbing your hips and lifting you closer to the footboard with a smile.
He grabbed the fuzzy handcuffs, clicking one cuff on to your right wrist while putting himself back inside you, continuing his fast pace. You both begin sweating as his groans fill the room, your calls of his name echo off the walls of the master bedroom as you hear another click come from above you. His pace gets even faster, his tone higher than before letting you know, he's close.
"Come for me baby." he groans as he pounds into your core, fingers rubbing your bundle of nerves again as your eyes roll into the back of your head.
Stifled laughs come from the two of you as he shifts his weight off you, a clank coming from the footboard. You tilt your head up, noticing that both you and his wrists are cuffed to the beam of the canopy bed frame.
"Bambam," you yelled up at him, watching him stare at the handcuffs with his mouth open. "Are you serious?" you whined, realizing the key is probably in the nightstand.
"It's okay!" he laughs, hand moving to push his hair back from his forehead in thought. "I can fix this. Think, think, think."
His cogs turn again as his eyes widen, looking down into yours as a grin rose to his lips.

genre: angst, fluff, friends to lovers
word count:Â 2.5k
summary: bambam and you were friends. at least thatâs what you thought until one lonely night on top of a rooftop.Â
note: this is a requested drabble i wrote for my follower special (find it here). also, highly inspired by prettymuchâs âphasesâ.
The city looked beautiful, the light rain didnât disturb you at all, if anything it made your little hometown look even more beautiful. The view from the rooftop of the parking garage next to your house always was one of your favorite things about this town â your mother was always insisting you spent to much time up here but it holds so many magical memories, nothing could calm you down like the familiar comfort of looking at the skyline from here.
Basically, to say it in the easiest way possible, you had a bad day. One of many, but today it hit differently. A part of you was mad at yourself for thinking that he was actually serious about the two of you when there were so many red flags. You werenât even sure if you liked him but now that he ditched you loneliness was once again your best friend. The other part of you, the one that was more dominant, made you feel sorry for yourself.
God, why was it so hard to find a decent guy in your town? All the good guys were either in a relationship, not interested or too close to you to risk ruining your friendship with them.
So, there you were, lovesick over some fool that certainly was not good enough for you, sad music on full volume in your ears, feeling empty all alone on the top of your city. This sure would be a good scene for a dramatic teenage movie.Â
You were a bit startled when you suddenly realized a tall figure beside you, disturbing you while you were drowning yourself in self-pity, until you saw who it was â Of course, heâd find you. After all, Bambam always came to your rescue.
âSo, itâs over I assume?â, your friend asked you, sitting down right beside you. He handed you a hot pack so you wouldnât freeze, knowing exactly you forgot yours. It was almost scary how good he knew you by now.
Nodding, you took out your headphones, âBig surprise, right?â
His legs were dangling off the high building, they were so much longer than yours, it was ridiculous. You looked at him and he gave you a small but reassuring smile.
âWhy didnât you call me?â, he asked you, sounding a bit disappointed.
âI knew youâd find me.â, you joked but you couldnât hide the sadness in your voice.
âYou didnât hide very well.â, he chuckled, scooting a bit closer to you to hug you, âYou shouldnât be sad about him, he smelled bad anyways.â
It was very rare to see Bambam like this â sincere, serious, maybe even a bit worried about you. Mostly he was the complete opposite â loud, active, a pain in the ass, but at least a lovely one.
Resting your head on his shoulder, you sighed, âIâm not even sad. Iâm just lonely.â
Shaking his head, he sighed, âThatâs what you get from involving yourself with guys like them. I told you before.â
You knew he didnât mean it in a mean way and you also knew he was right about it but you werenât in the mood to listen to these kind of lectures right now. There were only few things you hated more than Bambamâs lectures, the worst part about them was that he was always in the right.Â
Bambam surely belonged to the type of guys who were too close to you to be something more. Still, it sadly was more complicated than that. The two of you met at a party several years ago and that day, things were more than friendly.
You still remember how attracted you were to those long legs and to his fashion choices, his plump lips and, probably most of all, his personality. He was, and still is, the funniest and most carefree person you have ever met and you couldnât help but be unbelievable attracted to him. And luckily, he seemed to feel the same way.
Even though it feels like a lifetime ago, you still remember that evening exactly. You never could forget how his lips felt on yours, how smoothly his hands wandered all over your body, how good his body felt on yours. His jokes made you laugh, his flirting made you feel almost flustered and his hands made you feel craving more. Back then, he seemed like the perfect future boyfriend for you.
But after that night, the two of you somehow ended up as friends. He insisted that both of you were way too young and wild to be in a serious relationship and you had too much potential to fuck up an amazing possible friendship for a messy love story.Â
Thatâs how you two became friends and you knew he was right about what he said back then â without him as your friend you probably would feel beyond lost. But sometimes, for a second only you couldnât help but wonder how things wouldâve gone if you didnât decide to be friends instead of lovers.Â
âThanks, I know I have terrible taste in men.â, you scoffed, giving him an annoyed glance, âNo need to remind me.â
âYou do.â, he said, almost cold and you wondered what was going on. Something was definitely bothering him but you knew he hated to talk about his feelings.
âOkay, dude.â, you said, repositioning yourself to be able to look at him without hurting your neck, âWhat the hell is going on with you?â
He knitted his eyebrows together, looking at you in confusion, âWhat do you mean?â
âDid you only come here to tell me how bad I am at dating?â, you asked a bit sharp, not being in the mood to be judged by your best friend.
Rolling his eyes, he let out a long sigh, âYes, of course. I just came to make you feel more terribly, sounds just like me, right?â
While you usually thought he was beyond funny when he was being sarcastic, this time he had a way too serious undertone to it. It was unlike him to come at you, especially when you were down so you a weird feeling came creeping up in your stomach, not sure if it was anger or sorrow.Â
Not wanting to fight, you pressed your lips together into a thin line, âLook, Bambam. Letâs not do this tonight. Iâll go home, okay? Thank you for looking out for me.â
Just as you were trying to get up, he snapped at you, making you freeze immediately.Â
âJust stop running away from your problems for once.â, he said, raising his voice but instantly regretting it â you could see the regret in his eyes and you werenât mad at him, you were just wondering what made him so mad. After all, even Bambam was allowed to have his bad days, you just wished heâd talk to you.Â
For a second there was an uncomfortable silence between the two of you, no one knowing how to handle this rather unusual situation. You donât remember him ever raising your voice at you before and it seriously made you feel terrible.
âIâm sorry.â, he broke the silence first, his voice now quiet and soft again, âSeriously, I shouldnât have shouted.â
Nodding, you felt your tense body relaxing a bit again, sitting back down, âWhy do you think Iâm running away from my problems?â
Shrugging, his eyes were glued to the skyline of the city, âI just got frustrated, I didnât mean that. I promise.â
Now you were the confused one. He still didnât seem normal again, so you decided to find the roots of his problem, âWhat are you frustrated about? If you donât want to listen to my constant complaining anymore Iâll stop, seriously. I thought you wouldnât mind.â
For a second he closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath, âYou could complain all day and Iâd still love to listen to every word. Iâve just been thinking lately and I let it out on you, that wasnât fair.â
âBambam, please, donât make me beg you to tell me what is going on.â, you said, your shoulder brushing his, âWhat have you been thinking about?â
âItâs stupid.â, he said but also knew that he had to tell you because you wouldnât let it go until he talked to you, âSomehow, I canât stop thinking about the day we met lately. I try to push these thoughts away, but they keep on coming back.â
He looked so discouraged, it almost broke your heart. If there was one thing your heart couldnât take it was seeing him sad or hopeless, especially not if you were the reason for it. It was terrible to see him so frustrated.
âI think about it too every now and then, whatâs so bad about it?â, you ask him, trying to encourage him. Of course, you thought about it too, there was nothing bad about it, âIt happened before we became friends and honestly, it was a fun night, itâs only normal to think about it.â
âNo, I donât think you understand.â, he said, once again not daring to look at you, âI know youâre not mine of course, but it feels like even though youâre not, Iâm still yours.â
His words felt like a dagger right in your heart, not knowing how to respond, not even sure what exactly he was trying to say, it sounded like he tried to confess to you but considerating your relationship to each other you highly doubt it, there was no way Bambam caught feelings for you, not the guy who decided to become your friend instead of your lover many years ago.
âBam.â, you said softly, daring to take his hand to make him feel calmer, âYou have to be a bit more precise in order for me to understand.â
Finally, he looked at you, his expression seemed desperate and you truly have never seen him like this. In front of you wasnât your funny and supportive best friend, no, in front of you was a handsome but very hurting man.
His gaze shifted from your eyes to your lips, then to your hands.
âI never minded you trying to find yourself, dating shitty men, comforting you when someone hurt you, you know? I always thought that Iâll wait through your phases. But I donât want you to watch getting hurt anymore.â, he said, taking a small break from his speech before scoffing, âGod, some alcohol or a cigarette to calm down would truly be appreciated right now.â
You chuckled at his comment, after all, he was still the same guy even when he was pouring his heart out. Still a little bit confused you dared to be a bit blunt, âYouâre saying that you like me?â
âYup.â, he said with a little scoff, shrugging but still not letting go of your hand, âActually, I love you. I have loved you since we were 18.â
You felt a little butterfly in your stomach, followed by another one and yet another one until your whole stomach was feeling tingly. While this was very unexpected and you certainly didnât know how to respond at all, you couldnât help but feel good. It was surprising and you never wouldâve thought that deep down, Bambam actually liked you but it somehow made so much sense to you â the two of you definitely would be a powerful couple and basically have acted like one for forever and, obviously, you have been attracted to him from the start.Â
Your mind was filled with a thousand thoughts and you were not really able to catch a single one of them, all of this seemed so sudden but so expected at the same time and you couldnât explain what you were feeling even if you tried.
Looking into his eyes, you felt nothing but pure admiration for him.
âI donât want to destroy our friendship.â, he suddenly said, clearly panicking.
You shushed him, wanting to say something but he wouldnât let you, continuing to panic.
âBack then I said we should become friends rather than lovers because we werenât ready for something serious but sometimes I feel like I regret that and I just-â
Once again you shushed him, hoping heâd calm down so you could say something. His babbling was cute and you appreciated that he tried to explain the situation but you really wanted to tell him that he has nothing to worry about.
âI hope we can stay friends even though this-â, he once again started, looking nervous but you decided it was about time to stop him.
Without thinking about it twice you moved closer to him, your lips finding his just to make him shut up, knowing this would probably be the only way heâd stop talking. It took him a second to understand what was happening but as soon as he realized that it was fine, you felt his hand in your hair while his lips worked his magic on yours. The kiss was intense and slow, his lips still as soft as you remembered them. His scent was obfuscating you and all of those little butterflies came back to your stomach.
He deepened the kiss, not wanting this moment to pass even though both of you were dying to talk about the situation, this came first. He put a bit more pressure into it, his second hand finding its way to your lower back, gently pushing you closer to him. You wouldnât have thought that you ever got the chance to kiss him again but you definitely were happy about it.
âBambam.â, you said while taking a breath but he didnât stop kissing you.Â
Chuckling into the kiss, you freed yourself from him. He looked at you and gave you a small smile, âWhat do you think?â
âI think itâs time for you to ask me out.â, you said grinning.

The Bad Boy: Im Jaebeom
It was the senior prank day and that usually meant chaos! Last year some students toilet papered the school oak tree! God knows what was gonna happen this year! The pranks got more extravagant as the years passed! You walked into school a little weary of what youâd find! You held your binder close to you ready to bat away anything that might be about to splatter, explode or spray in your direction. You didnât wanna take any chances and stayed away from the most crowded places in the school. To your confusion, the day passed pretty normally although every time you turned a corner you thought a bucket would land on your head. You checked your phone to make sure that the date was right. It was. So where were the pranks? Where was the screaming, running and laughing? You were slightly disappointed at this yearâs turnout. You didnât have to be for long. You were walking down the corridor of the beauty studies block, when someone grabbed you by the hand and pulled you into the nearest empty classroom! You closed your eyes in terrified anticipation!
âWhy are you closing your eyes?â Asked a voice laced with laughter. You peeked through your eyelashes and saw⌠oh nooo. Jaebeom, panting in front of you. His three piercings sparkling as they dangled from his ears. Get a run in with him and you were either in trouble with him or because of him and he didnât care about either. You definitely didnât want to get in trouble because of him and you didnât much like the idea of being stuck in summer detention WITH him either. âI thoughtâŚyou would throw something at meâŚcos, you know, Prank day.â You said meekly still flinching against the wall.
He bent down so you were at eye level. âReally now,â he said coyly âAnd what did you think I would throw?â
âI donât know,â You said shakily âEggs?â
âDid you really think I would be that sloppy?â He asked you through breathless chuckles, âEggs? Really?! This isnât 1985.â You felt a little stung.
âWell, you didnât. Thatâs the main thing.â You said as you straightened up. You eyed the door, thinking of any excuse to put 1000 kilometres between you two. It wasnât worth your college application to stay near him. âListen,â you said quickly.
âThis has been great and all but- â
âTodayâs your lucky day Y/N! Youâre gonna be my accomplice!â said Jaebeom smirking.
 âI have managed to get through today without getting pelted, attacked drenched or jumpscared. Iâm not gonna stop that streak.â You said backing away.
âAnd Iâm not getting caught and put in detention on Senior Prank Day either, at least, not alone,â said Jaebeom. âSo, either you help me keep my streak or lose your squeaky clean rep. Your choice.â He folded his arms his arms, smirking, and waited for your response. You hung your head.
He chuckled and then, and then turning around in front of you said, âHow do I look?â
You glanced at him quickly, âThatâs a dumb question, you know you always lookâŚâ then you actually took a good look at him and was surprised to see that he wasâŚwellâŚscruffy! It was like he had been rolling around in a barn; feathers and bits of straw were hanging from his hair and clothes.
 âWell, I have to say you donât look as good as you usually do.â
âYou think I look good?â said Jaebeom smirking triumphantly at the annoyance on your face.
âYou know thatâs not what I me- â
 âI ran into a little chicken trouble.â He said cutting you off your excuse.
âChicken trouble?â You began to ask curiously, then shaking your head said quickly âActually donât tell me. The less I know the better.â
âSo, are you gonna help me or not?â
âI havenât got a choice, have I?â You sighed defeated, âWhat do you want me to do?â
âItâs obvious, isnât it? Help clean me up?â
âI donât carry that sort of stuff with me.â You said holding out your hands to indicate they were empty.
âLook around youâ he said âWeâre in the beauty block.â
âYeah, but all the beauty supplies are locked up af-â you never got to finish your sentence. Jaebeom had found a hair pin picked the lock of the supply closet and was taking out spray, a hair dryer, some product and a comb.
 âNow can you clean me up?â
Sighing, you began to brush his head roughly with your hand; trying to finish your task as soon as possible.
âJeez! Why are you being so heavy handed?â winced Jaebeom, shielding his head from any more of your swipes.
âCry-baby.â You muttered under your breath, but you took the straw and feathers out of his hair gentler, making sure not to miss a single strand. When it was all out of his hair, you took the comb, slicked his hair back and sprayed it so it would stay in place. âAll done! Now can I leave?!â you said impatiently. Without saying a word to you he stuck his head around the door.
âNot just yetâ he said, looking over your shoulder. âMiss F is walking down the hall.â
âThatâs not my problem!â you said defiantly  You turned to leave but he suddenly spun you around and held you close, his hands on your hips and your noses almost touching.  You went to push him away, but he held firm staring in your eyes with an intensity you had never seen before, he said slowly and quietly âJust look this way.â You heard the door open.
âHonestly, Jaebeom? Here?â Said the teacher. She gestured towards where you both stood.
âWell, what can I do Miss?â Said Jaebeom with a smirk âWe needed somewhere moreâŚprivate for our date! People were running around everywhere!â You turned red and resisted the urge to gag. If you got in trouble because of himâŚ
 âI really didnât need to knowâ Said Miss F, âYou wouldnât have anything to do with 12 chickens would you?â You choked! So THAT explains the chicken trouble.
âNothing Miss.â Said Jaebeom innocently. Â She eyed him suspiciously, of course she wouldnât believe a word he said, he was IM JAEBEOM!
âSo, whatâs all THAT on the floor?â she asked looking at the mess of straw and feathers from Jaebeomâs hair. He opened his mouth to speak but you jumped in quickly,
âThat was me, Miss!! You told me to work on my texturing in art class so I decided to use feathers, sorry for the confusion.â and you hastily bent to pick them up. It didnât sound believable to you at all but you hoped and prayed to all the gods that she would fall for it; and anyway, you werenât lying, she HAD asked you to work on your texturing in art class.
âI seeâŚâ the teacher said quietly. It seemed to you that she was deciding whether to believe this lie, âWell, whatever the case get out of the classroom you know theyâre out of bounds at lunchtime.â And with that she left the room.
âHappy chicken hunting Miss!â called Jaebeom after her. When you were sure she had gone you stood up and stared incredulously at him,
 âI swear to God Jaebeom! You let loose twelve chickens in the school?!â
Jaebeom chuckled âNope, I let loose 11.â
âSo why- â
âWe tagged them, but we purposely missed out number eleven and wrote twelve instead! Theyâll be looking for that twelfth chicken for hours!â Then he considered you âYouâre a good sport you know.â He said, looking over you. âI like your quick thinking!â
âI didnât have a choice!â you said exasperated.
âBe honest with yourself. You like the thrill.â
âNot a bit.â You replied adamantly.
âWeâll seeâŚâ he said tentatively. He winked and left the room. UGH! Jaebeom! At least you didnât get caught.
âChickens, that really did top last yearâs oak tree situationâŚâ You muttered to yourself, âClever of them to mis-tag the chickens!â You laughed quietly at how Senior Prank day had gone. Definitely not how you had expected. At that moment your phone buzzed with a text from an unknown number
âTold you đ-JB.â

Black Velvet
A/n: I donât know Iâm new to got7 and Iâm already soft for Bambam and idk I just felt like this is something he might do... and if Iâm wrong, so sue me lmao
Word Count: 859
Summary: You came to surprise your boyfriend but everything went wrong... so it became his turn to surprise you
It was supposed to be a surprise visit. Something to make him smile. An entire, unproblematic week where you got to join him on tour and finally hold his hand and kiss his face again.
But your plane ride to New York had been anything but smooth.
First, you had arrived to the airport late and had to run to your gate, only to find once you got there that it had been delayed for 4 hours. Four hours later, when you finally got to board the plane, you were delayed again on the runway...and when you were in the air, the two men your seat was between ended up being man-spreaders who also stole both of your armrests. And to top it all off, the turbulence made you spill your ginger-ale all over your sweats.
When the plane landed and at last you made it off and towards the right carousel, you had to wait until all the luggage was off before you found out that the plane had lost your luggage.
You filed the paperwork and complaint, but you couldn't wait around for your things to get there. So you called your taxi and headed out. But apparently, New York has night time traffic too and you had to sit at a standstill every five minutes until you eventually got to where you needed to be.
By the time you got to the hotel and got7's manager lead you to Bambam's room, you were barely holding back the tears of frustration. You had wanted to be in the room to surprise him before his concert ended, so he would open the door to find you waiting for him, arms open and in a sexy set of lingerie.
But no. That plan had been ruined.
Instead, now you knocked on the door and prepared to meet your beautiful boyfriend for the first time months looking like you had fallen off a train and hiked through a bog to find him.
He opens the door wide with a huge smile taking over his face. "Y/N!"
He grabs you by the waist and spins you around, laughing happily. "You're here!"
You try to smile back but you can't stop the tears that begin to slip down your face.
"No no no no cry," He states, cupping your face gently with his hands and kissing your forehead before running them over your shoulders and down your arms, pulling you tight against his chest. "Baby? What's wrong? Did something happen?" He pulls back from you to search your face.
"Yeah... my plan failed," you sniff, swiping at your eyes and trying to give him a dry laugh.
"Plan? What plan?" Bambam tugs you into his room and shuts the door, leading you over to the bed.
"My plan to surprise you. But everything went wrong." You tell him your original plan while he holds your hand, making statements about your predicament that make you laugh despite your tears.
When you finish, Bambam presses a kiss to the side of your head before turning your head and kissing your mouth so tenderly you can't help but sigh against him.
"But you're here now." He whispers, pressing his forehead against your own.
"Yeah. I guess I am."
"Come on -" Bambam stands and holds out his hand to you. "Take a hot shower - you need it."
"Hey--"
"You smell like airport and ginger-ale." He tosses the towel over your head and folds it under your chin, holding it together with a little smile. "You can use one of my shirts tonight."
"But what about tomorrow?" You sniff. "I have no clean clothes."
He uses the towel to tug you closer to him and pecks you on the lips. "Leave that to me."
He pats your butt on the way to the shower and waits until he hears the water running before going to his laptop and typing in the search bar.
When you come out of the shower, Bambam hands you one of his shirts and tucks you into bed beside him, telling you about the tour to distract you until you've relaxed and fallen asleep.
The next morning when you wake up, Bambam isn't there, but there's a black dress laid out on the bed alongside underwear, a bra, tights, a pair of heeled ankle boots and every cosmetic and hair item you might need.
You generous, generous man.
You run your fingers over them in awe - smiling as you feel the velvet of the dress and trace the buttons that go down the front. He knows you so well.
When you pick it up and hold it against you, a little slip of paper falls out and flutters to the floor. Bending down, you pick it up, smiling at his familiar handwriting.
Hope I got all the right things ~ get dressed, we're going shopping. I'll be back soon xo.
You shake your head and head to the bathroom to get ready, and when Bambam comes back, matching you in head to toe black and holding coffee, you think you finally know what it means to be "crazy in love."

Comatose Love
BamBam is anxious. Jackson can see it clearly no matter how hard BamBam tries to act normal. BamBam had never been able to sit still but he is more fidgety than usual, abnormally quiet, and Jackson has watched him check his phone no less than twenty times in the last three minutes only to drop it onto the dining table with a huff a second later, running his hands through his hair and then repeating the process. Heâs trying to hide it from the rest of his members, laughing loudly as he watches Mark attempt to climb Yugyeom like a tree, but Jackson could tell it was forced, his smile never reaching his eyes.Â
âBamBam,â Jackson calls, catching everyoneâs attention, âWhatâs got you so distracted?â
âHuh? Oh. Nothing. Iâm fine,â BamBam says hurriedly, looking back down to his phone.
âNo youâre not,â Mark says from where he is perched on Yugyeomâs back, wrapped around him like a koala, âYou keep checking your phone and then looking like you wanna throw it across the room a second later.â
âWhy are you on me, hyung?â Yugyeom says in annoyance and Mark just shrugs, causing Yugyeom to growl. He walks over to one of the couches in the dorm living room and flops down, effectively squishing Mark between him and the back of the couch and Mark lets go with a groan, the rest of the boys laughing again as Yugyeom pushes back, pressing Mark harder into the back of the couch until Mark gives him a hard smack on the side of his head. Yugyeom jumps up quickly, scurrying over to sit at the table next to BamBam just as Jinyoung and Youngjae enter the dorm, both laden down with bags of food.Â
The boys all gather around the table as Jinyoung and Youngjae hand out the food, and Jackson watches as BamBam ignores his in favor of checking his phone again. He sets the phone aside again with a sigh before grabbing his fries. He only eats a couple before picking his phone up once more, only to have it snatched out of his hand by Jaebeom as he plops down next to him.Â
âSeriously, BamBam, whatâs up,â Jaebeom asks, holding BamBamâs phone out of his reach, âare you that lost without Karlie here to hold your hand?â
âI am not lost without her, hyung,â BamBam says in exasperation, wincing at the mention of his fiance who also happens to be Got7âs American manager. Jackson canât help but chuckle as he watches BamBam attempt to grab his phone from Jaebeom, almost climbing into his lap, only to have it taken by Jinyoung across the table. He flops back in his seat with a hard, crossing his arms and glaring at the table.Â
âRight,â Jaebeom says with a smirk, âThen why do you look like a kicked puppy?â
âI do not look like a kicked puppy,â BamBam growls before sighing, âIâm just worried, okay? She usually calls or at least texts me once a day. I havenât heard from her in three days. Iâve been trying to call her but it goes straight to voicemail.â
âMaybe she finally got sick of listening to your whiny ass, and shut off her phone,â Mark says from where he is sitting on Jaebeomâs other side, and the other boys laugh when BamBam lunges at him and he lets out a small shriek.Â
âThatâs rude, Mark,â Jinyoung admonishes as he slides BamBamâs phone into his pocket, sits down, and looks back at BamBam, âIâm sure sheâs fine, BamBam. But checking your phone every two seconds and stressing out isnât going to make her call you any quicker. So eat your lunch and spend some time with us before you leave for Thailand tomorrow.âÂ
âFine,â BamBam says with a pout before taking a large bite out of his burger. Before anyone can say anything else though, Day6âs Sweet Chaos rings out and BamBam is lunging across the table, shoving his hand into Jinyoungâs pocket and fishing out his phone.
âSee, I told you she was fine,â Jinyoung says with a laugh as BamBam answers the phone, wandering into the living room.Â
âKarlie what the hell?â BamBam says loudly, âIâve been trying to call you for-â
Jackson looks up from his food when BamBam stops mid-sentence.
âTyler? Whereâs Karlie?â BamBam says in English as he stops next to the couch.
Everyoneâs attention snaps to BamBam at his question, food forgotten. Jackson watches as a mix of confusion and pain settles onto his friendâs face.Â
âWhat are you- Why is she-â BamBam stutters and stops as whoever is on the other end continues speaking. Yugyeom stands from the table and moves to stand next to his best friend when BamBam fists a hand in his hair. As Yugyeom reaches out to place a hand on BamBamâs shoulder, BamBamâs knees suddenly buckle, phone slipping from his hand and bouncing across the carpet. Yugyeom manages to snake his arm around BamBamâs waist in time to keep him upright, and BamBam presses his forehead into his best friend's collar bone as Yugyeom slowly guides him to the floor. Everyone is moving now, rushing to their friendâs side. Jackson stops short when he sees BamBamâs phone lying face up on the floor a few feet away, call still in progress, screen showing a closeup picture of BamBam and his fiance, BamBam pressing a kiss to Karlieâs cheek. He snatches the phone up quickly and presses it to his ear when he hears a male voice calling BamBamâs name filter through the phone speakers.Â
âWho is this?â Jackson demands in English.
âWho are you?â The voice on the other end says, âWhereâs BamBam?
âThis is Jackson,â Jackson replies, looking over when he hears BamBamâs breathing hitch, bordering on hyperventilation and the other boys around him attempting to calm him down, âand BamBam is currently having a panic attack and I wanna know why.â
âJackson, this is Karlieâs father,â The man says with a sigh, sounding tired, âKarlie was attacked three days ago and is currently in a coma. The doctors donât know when, or if, she will wake up.âÂ
âOh my God,â Jackson whispers, drawing some of the other boysâ attention to him, âWeâll make sure heâs on the next flight to the States.â
âThank you, Jackson,â Tyler says.
âOf course, sir,â Jackson says, and hangs up the phone. Jaebeom and Mark are next to him almost instantly, eyes full of questions and Jackson relays what Karlieâs father had told him.Â
âShit,â Mark says quietly before switching back to Korean, âwell heâs already packed for Thailand. All we need to do is cancel his current ticket and buy him a new one.â
I think someone should go with him,â Jaebeom says, âMake sure he makes it okay.â
âIâll go,â Mark says, and Jaebeom nods. As Mark heads to his room, Jackson looks over to see that BamBam has gotten his breathing under control and is now leaning back against the couch with a blank look on his face. Jinyoung, Youngjae, and Yugyeom are trying to talk to him but give up a minute later when they get no response. They wander over to where Jackson and Jaebeom are, all looking concerned.Â
âHe wonât tell us whatâs going on,â Youngjae says, sounding panicked, âhe started hyperventilating and then he just shut down. No tears, no explanation, nothing.â
âWho was on the phone, Jackson hyung?â Yugyeom asks quietly, eyes still glued to his best friend, who hasnât moved. Jackson explains again while Jaebeom goes to book tickets for BamBam and Mark. By the time Jackson has finished explaining the situation, Youngjae and Yugyeom both have tears running down their faces and Jinyoungâs eyes are glassy. Jaebeom walks back over a few minutes later with a couple sheets of paper, just as Mark returns from his room with BamBamâs suitcase and a duffle bag slung over his shoulder.
âOkay, I have you on the next flight out,â Jaebeom says, handing the papers to Mark, âIt leaves in an hour and forty-five minutes, so if youâre going to make it with enough time to get through security you need to leave now. The cabs on its way and I called JYP. Heâs paying for the tickets, and sends his best wishes. All thatâs really left to do is call his mom, let her know whatâs going on so sheâs not freaking out when he doesnât show up tomorrow.âÂ
âIâll call her,â Yugyeom says, and Jaebeom nods. As Yugyeom walks away, the sound of a car horn outside catches everyone's attention.
âCabâs here,â Jinyoung says, looking out the window. Mark takes BamBamâs phone from Jackson before picking up the suitcase and heading for the door. Jaebeom and Jackson squat down in front of BamBam and Jackson places a hand on his shoulder.Â
âHey, BamBam,â Jackson says in a soft voice, âYou need to get up. The cabâs here to take you to the airport.â Â
When BamBam gives no response or sign of moving, Jaebeom lets out a noise that sounds like a mix between a sigh and a growl. He reaches out quickly, grabbing BamBamâs chin firmly and forcing his head up.
âHey,â Jaebeom says sharply, and BamBamâs eyes finally focus on him, âYou need to get your head in the game. Karlie needs you right now and you sitting here is doing nothing. So move your ass.â
At the mention of his fianceâs name, BamBamâs eyes widen and he nods, allowing Jaebeom and Jackson to pull him to his feet. The three of them make their way outside, where Mark is waiting by the cab.Â
âCall us when you get there,â Jaebeom tells Mark after depositing BamBam in the car.
âWill do,â Mark says, âI texted Karlieâs dad with BamBamâs phone, letting him know our itinerary.âÂ
Jaebeom nods and Mark climbs into the car. Jackson and Jaebeom watch the cab until it disappears around the corner before heading back inside.Â
âYou were a bit harsh on him, hyung,â Jackson says as they climb the stairs.Â
âYeah, well. We needed him to move,â Jaebeom says with a sigh, âWe had to snap him out of whatever that was and the soft approach was not going to work.âÂ
âYeah,â Jackson sighs, âI guess youâre right.â
~~~~~~
BamBam doesnât speak a word the entire trip. Mark tries multiple times during the fifteen and a half hour flight to talk to him, but BamBam never responds, simply stares out the window. He also refuses to eat, despite having not eaten lunch. Mark knows heâs not going to get through to him so he leaves BamBam to his own devices, dozing off here and there. Itâs mid-afternoon when they finally land in Karlieâs hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mark is stiff and sore. As he and BamBam make their way through the terminal, trying to shake the cramps out of their muscles, they hear a feminine voice calling BamBamâs name. They turn towards the sound and see a petite woman standing next to the baggage carousel. Mark turns to BamBam in confusion, only to see his eyes widen just before he scurries over to the small woman, stooping to wrap her in a hug. Mark hurries after his friend, reaching the pair as the woman pulls back and gives BamBam a small, motherly smile. Now that heâs closer, Mark sees that the woman is an older, slightly shorter version of Karlie.Â
âI didnât know Karlie had an older sister,â Mark says without thinking, because his brain-to-mouth filter must be malfunctioning due to jet lag, making both BamBam and the woman give him strange looks.
âOh hun,â the woman says with a thick Southern drawl, a sweet smile adorning her face, âyou must be exhausted. Youâre not seeing things clearly. Did you two get any sleep on the plane?â
âMaybe an hour?â BamBam says uncertainly, the first words Mark has heard him speak since he got the call, âBut he slept most of the flight.â
âDid you at least eat something?â the woman asks as they grab the boysâ luggage, giving BamBam a pointed look and he looks away quickly. The woman huffs and smacks the back of his head, before turning her gaze to Mark, âWhat about you, Mark?â
âYes, maâam,â Mark squeaks, slightly frightened of the tiny woman before him, before something else occurs to him, âWait. How do you know my name?â
âDonât call me maâam. Carrie is fine. Or mama,â the woman says with a smirk, âAnd I know all of your names. My daughter talks about the âcrackheadsâ that she manages all the time. Plus, I like your music and Bam is always showing us videos of the crazy antics you boys get into. So it wasnât hard to match names to faces.â
âOh, daughterâŚâ Mark says, scratching his head in embarrassment, âThat makes sense. I feel dumb now.âÂ
âItâs okay, sweetie,â Carrie says with a giggle, patting Markâs arm, âWe can just blame it on the jet lag. Now come on. Letâs go see our girl. Weâll pick up some food on the way.â
Mark and BamBam follow Carrie out to her SUV, stowing their bags in the trunk. As Carrie pulls out of the parking lot, Mark sends a quick text message to their group chat, letting the other members know that they had landed safely and that he would call them later that evening. They stop at a McDonaldâs then a Starbucks, Carrie buying two extra coffees. The rest of the ride is pretty quiet, only the sound of crumpling food wrappers breaking the silence. When they finally arrive at the hospital, the atmosphere seems to grow darker around them. The hospital is busy, people in scrubs rushing around. The elevator is packed when they catch it and they are all thankful to get off two floors later. The third floor is quieter than the first floor had been, an almost somber quality to the air that makes the hair on the back of Markâs neck stand up as they follow Carrie down the hall. They stop at a desk with a middle aged gentleman and a young man in scrubs leaning against it, and Carrie hands the young man one of the coffees.Â
âYou didnât have to get me coffee, Carrie,â the young man says, accepting the cup anyway.
âI know, hun,â Carrie says, handing the other coffee to the other man, âBut youâve been here all night and you looked almost dead when I left.â
âWell, thank you,â the young man says, before turning to look at Mark and BamBam, âAnd who are these gentlemen?â
âThis is Karlieâs fiance, BamBam,â the other man says, placing a hand on BamBamâs shoulder then points to Mark with the hand holding the coffee cup, âAnd this is his bandmate, Mark.â
âThey arenât technically a band, Tyler. They donât play instruments,â Carrie says, patting her husband's arm before turning back to the man in scrubs, âHow is she today, Josh?â
âWell, the swelling has gone down considerably. The doc ran another CT scan after you left and heâs optimistic about being able to remove the drainage tube tomorrow,â Josh says, leaning across the counter to pick up a clipboard, âSheâs also breathing on her own, now.â
âMay I see her?â BamBam asks in a small voice as Carrie lets out a sigh of relief.
âOf course,â Josh says, nodding, âthis way.â
As they follow the nurse down the hall, BamBam gets antsier with every step, and when they finally stop by a door at the very end of the hall, he looks ready to bolt. Mark places a reassuring hand on BamBamâs shoulder as the nurse opens the door. The lights in the room are out and itâs quiet except for the constant steady beeping of a heart monitor. As they all file in, Josh turns on the lights and Mark suddenly feels the urge to puke. Karlie is the roomâs only occupant, but if Mark didn't know who they were there to see, he would not have recognized the girl laying in the bed. The entire left side of her face is a dark purple, with a matching bruise ringing her neck. There are bandages wrapping around her forehead and covering her right eye. There are tubes and wires everywhere, some attached to her right arm and some disappearing into the neckline of the hospital gown she wears. Her long brown hair almost seems dull, laying limp and greasy around her.Â
âJesus,â Mark breaths out as BamBam stumbles forward. He falls to his knees next to the bed and reaches out tentatively to grasp her hand, lacing his fingers through hers and pressing the back of her hand to his lips. Mark sees his friend's shoulders start to shake, and he presses his forehead against Karlieâs hip as Carrie moves forward, kneeling down next to him and wrapping her arms around his shoulders. BamBam shifts, never releasing Karlieâs hand, and buries his face in Carrieâs shoulder as she cards her fingers through his hair, broken sobs ripping their way out of his chest.Â
âWhat happened,â Mark asks shakily, turning to look at his friend's father. He is trying to be strong for BamBam, but he can feel the burn of tears welling in his eyes. Karlie had become like a little sister to Mark and seeing her like this hurt.Â
âWe had gone to dinner with a few of her bridesmaids and were talking to a couple of gentlemen while waiting for a table,â Tyler says, looking exhausted, âone of them was very interested in Karlie, and looked angry when she said she was engaged but he didnât say anything. Then about halfway through dinner BamBam called her, so she went outside. We all figured she would be a while, so when she wasnât back after twenty minutes, we didnât think anything of it. But then a woman came running into the restaurant screaming that âheâs killing herâ. We were pretty far from the door so it took us a while to get out there, but when we did, we saw the angry guy from earlier being pulled off of Karlie by his friend. We donât know why he did it, his friend doesnât even understand what happened. Apparently he just snapped.â
âJesus,â Mark says again, not knowing what else to say, and a silence settles over the room, only BamBamâs sobs being heard. They stay that way for a while, Tyler sitting in the chair against the wall, Mark leaning against the wall next to him, and Carrie holding BamBam as his sobs quiet down. After a while, when BamBam has stopped crying and settled himself in the chair next to the bed, still clutching Karlieâs hand, Carrie turns to her husband.Â
âHun, you look exhausted,â she says, placing a hand on his shoulder, âand both boys probably need sleep, too. So why donât you take them home and Iâll sit with her.âÂ
âIâm not leaving,â BamBam says firmly, eyes never leaving his fiance's face, before Tyler has a chance to say anything.
âBam, you need to sleep,â Mark says, âYou barely slept on the plane.â
âIâm not leaving her, Mark,â BamBam snaps in Korean, springing to his feet and turning to Mark with a glare, âI donât need you telling me what I do or donât need. The woman I love is lying in a hospital bed and we have no idea when sheâs gonna wake up. Or if she even will. So if you think Iâm leaving her side anytime soon you are sorely mistaken.â
Markâs eyes widen at his normally goofy friendâs angry outburst. He doesnât know how to respond, so he just nods and makes his way out the door. He wanders down the hall a bit before collapsing into one of the many chairs lining the hallway. He rakes his hands over his face and through his hair, taking a deep, shaky breath as he lets his head fall back against the wall. He feels the stress of the day catching up with him; the jetlag, the shock from his friendâs condition and BamBamâs outburst becoming too much and he feels tears stinging at his eyes again. This time, though, he doesnât fight it, just lets the tears slip past his closed eyelids and down his cheeks. He sits there for a few minutes, crying silently, until he feels a hand on his shoulder and he opens his eyes to see Tyler and Carrie both standing in front of him.Â
âCome on, son,â Tyler says, âLetâs head to the house and you can sleep.â
âOh, I was just going to book a hotel,â Mark says, wiping his eyes and standing.Â
âNonsense,â Carrie shakes her head, âWe have a spare room. Thereâs no point in wasting money on a hotel when you can just stay with us.â
Mark nods, too tired to argue, and follows the couple out of the hospital.
~~~~~
When Mark walked out, BamBam collapsed back into his chair and buried his face in his hands, immediately feeling guilty. He hadnât meant to yell at his friend, knew he was just concerned for BamBamâs wellbeing, but the stress of everything had gotten to him and heâd taken it out on Mark.Â
âShit,â BamBam says, letting out a ragged sigh.Â
âI may not know what you said,â Carrie says, placing her hand on his shoulder, and he looks up at her, âBut even I could tell that was harsh.âÂ
âI know,â BamBam says, sighing again and training his eyes back on his unconscious fiance, âI didnât mean to snap at him. I just-â
âI get it,â Carrie says, âHey. Iâm gonna take Ty and Mark to the house so they can get some sleep, then Iâll be back. Itâll probably be a couple hours. You gonna be okay here by yourself?â
âYeah, Iâll be fine,â BamBam says. His eyes donât leave Karlie as he hears Carrie and Tyler leave. He picks up Karlieâs hand again, reaching out with the other hand to gently rest it against the top of her head, careful of the bruising on her face and the bandages on her head. He sits that way, carding his fingers through her hair and listening to the steady beep of the heart monitor reassuring him that she was still there, still alive, for about half an hour until his phone starts buzzing in his pocket. He fishes it out and sees that Mark is calling the Got7 group chat. He takes a moment to gather himself and makes sure that his headphones are connected before accepting the call. It takes a second for the call to connect, the sound coming through before the video does. When it does, he sees Mark in the guest room of his soon to be in-laws house, eyes slightly red and puffy, and feels another wave of guilt wash over him. At the bottom of the screen, the rest of the members of Got7 are squished onto one of the couches in the dorm living room. They all look rather surprised to see him.Â
âHey guys,â He says quietly.Â
âHey Bam,â Yugyeom says softly, with none of his usual exuberance, âHow you doing?â
BamBam doesnât answer, just makes a noncommittal noise and turns the camera around, showing the boys the girl on the bed. The boys all gasp, while Mark just looks away. He turns the camera back around so the boys are looking at him once more and rubs his eyes.Â
âWhat happened?â Jaebeom asks, voice neutral, face blank.
Mark relays the story they heard from Tyler, but BamBam isnât really listening, not really wanting to hear it again. His mind wandering to the âwhat ifsâ. He remembers calling her that day, and he wonders if he had waited a little longer to call her would she still be in this situation. If he hadnât begged the other boys to take a break earlier than planned so he could call her, would she have made it home with no more contact with the angry man? Before he can fall too much farther into that train of thought, the sound of his name pulls him back to the conversation and heÂ
sees his best friend giving him a knowing look.Â
âI know what youâre thinking, BamBam,â Yugyeom says, and BamBam looks away, âItâs not your fault and blaming yourself isnât going to do anyone any good.â
BamBam doesnât say anything, just nods, knowing thereâs no use arguing with his best friend because no one knows BamBam better, except maybe Karlie.Â
âSo wait,â Youngjae says, âMark where are you? Did you stay at the hospital, too?â
âNo, Iâm at Karlieâs parentsâ house,â Mark says, a small smirk working its way onto his face, âThey wouldnât let me get a hotel.â
âI could have told you that,â BamBam says with a snort, âThey wouldnât let me get a hotel either. Made me sleep in the guestroom the first couple times I came with Karlie for a visit. That bed is damn comfortable though.â
Mark laughs and nods in agreement. They talk for a few more minutes before Mark lets out a loud yawn and the other boys laugh. The boys all say their goodbyes and demands to be kept updated on Karlieâs progress.Â
âMark hyung,â BamBam says, catching everyoneâs attention before anyone can hang up, âI wanted to say Iâm sorry. About earlier.â
âItâs fine, BamBam,â Mark says, a reassuring smile on his face, âI get it. Youâre stressed out. I probably would have reacted the same way had I been in your position.â
âThatâs still no excuse for snapping at you,â BamBam argues, and he sees confusion on the rest of the membersâ faces, âI appreciate your concern. I really do. Thank you. And I am sorry.â
Mark doesnât say anything else, just smiles and nods before hanging up. BamBam tells the other boys goodnight once more before hanging up, just as the door opens behind him.Â
âOh!â the woman says in surprise, âYou startled me. I wasnât expecting a new face.â
âIâm sorry,â BamBam says, standing and offering her a hand, âIâm BamBam.â
âOh! The fiance!â the woman says with a knowing smile, shaking his hand, âItâs nice to meet you. Iâm Becky. One of the nurses taking care of Karlie. Iâm here to change her bandages and clean her up a bit.â
âOh,â BamBam says dumbly, finally noticing that the woman is wearing scrubs. Becky seems sweet, around Carrieâs age, with short cropped black hair that's graying at the temples and wrinkles around her kind eyes. He watches as she moves about, checking the monitors, before grabbing a cart holding medical supplies and moving it closer to the bed.Â
âSo how did you two meet,â she asks as she starts unwrapping the bandages around Karlieâs head, âIf you donât mind my asking. I bet it was something cute, right? Like in a coffee shop or a bookstore?â
âI wish,â BamBam says with a snort, trying to ignore the damage to his fianceâs face that was hidden by the bandages; the stitches in her eyebrow and under her eye, the bruising and scrapes on her forehead, instead focusing on the heart monitor beeping away steadily as he remembers his and Karlieâs first meeting, âShe actually called me a dumpling on a pair of walking chopsticks when we first met.â
âReally?â Becky says with a laugh as she gently cleans Karlieâs face.
âYeah. I was 19, dumb and immature, and tried hitting on her five minutes after I met her,â BamBam says, smiling at the memory, âShe was 21, gorgeous, and had just started working at the entertainment company Iâm signed with. We were doing a Q&A video with our fans in Germany and they brought her in as a translator. She speaks seven languages. She actually insulted me in Thai, which is my native language. Shocked the hell out of me.âÂ
âSeven?â Becky asks, âI knew she spoke Korean and Spanish. Didnât know about the others.â
âWait, you know her?â BamBam asks in surprise.
âI went to high school with her dad,â Becky says with a smirk, âand Karlie grew up with my twins.â
âOh wow,â he says quietly.Â
âSo,â she says, looking at BamBam conspiratorially, âIf you were a dumb, immature teenager and she was insulting you in the beginning, what changed?â
âIâm persistent,â BamBam says smuggly, â And stubborn. Granted so is she. It took me a year and a half to get her to agree to a date. But after that first encounter, I stopped trying so hard. I flirted less and tried to get to know her better. We became really good friends and I think that helped me mature a lot. Though Iâm 25 and still act like a dumb, immature teenager sometimes, she keeps me in line. She keeps us all in line, actually.â
âTyler tells me she manages a KPOP group,â Becky says, âThatâs you, right? Isnât it frowned upon to date your manager?â
âShe was actually my girlfriend before she became our manager,â BamBam explains, âSheâs only been our manager for about a year, weâve been together for about four. My group was being rowdy and crazy backstage at an awards show, not listening to our manager when he would tell us to chill. It wasnât the first time we gave our manager a hard time. And then she came in to wish us good luck, saw how we were acting and ripped us all apart and we settled down. JYP, the CEO of our company, I guess he saw it, and when our manager quit the next week, he offered her the job. Didnât even care that she and I were together. He had just never seen anyone corral us like that.â
âWow,â Becky says.
âMmm, I got lucky,â he says, turning his gaze back to his fiance, âSheâs the best thing thatâs happened to me.â
âSo how long have you been engaged?â Becky asks, âHave you guys set a date? How did you propose?â
BamBam looks at her with bemusement, amused by her curiosity. When he doesnât respond after a few moments she looks up at him with wide eyes, and he chuckles.Â
âI am so sorry,â she says hurriedly, âItâs not really any of my business. Iâve just found it helps the family to talk when a loved one is hurt. Just think of me as the nosey aunt.â
âItâs fine,â BamBam says with a laugh, âItâs what? February now? I proposed in October, so four months. The wedding is supposed to be in April, in Thailand.âÂ
âWow. Short engagement,â Becky says.
âYeah, Karlieâs very organized.â BamBam says with a fond smile, âShe had almost everything planned by December.â
âMmm,â Becky hums in agreement, âSo why BamBam?â
âHuh?â
âYour name,â Becky clarifies, âI know thatâs not the name you were born with.â
âHis name is kinda hard to pronounce,â Carrie says as she walks in the open door, making BamBam jump, âHi Becky.
âHi Carrie, Iâm almost done here,â Becky says with a smile, gathering up her supplies, âand what do you mean about his name?â
âThe first time we met BamBam, Tyler said he refused to call him that, demanding to know his real name,â Carrie starts, giggling.
âWhen I told him my real name he just kinda blinked at me for a good ten seconds,â BamBam says laughing, âthen he held out his hand for me to shake and says âItâs nice to meet you, BamBam.â Karlie fell off the couch laughing.â
Carrie and Becky join in with his laughter as Becky finishes up and says her goodbyes, having other patients to tend to. After she leaves, BamBam and Carrie sit in silence for a while, both lost in their own worlds.Â
âYou know thatâs part of why she wants to get married in Thailand, right?â Carrie asks suddenly, the sound of her voice making BamBam jump again.
âHuh?â
âShe wants to make sure that whoever officiates can properly pronounce your name, and what better way to assure that happens than get married in Thailand,â Carrie explains with a smile, and BamBam snorts.Â
âIs that the only reason?â he asks with a chuckle.
âNo,â Carrie says with a small smile, âSheâs always said that she wants to get married wherever the person she loves is from, because that's their home. I asked her about it when she was a teenager and her cousin got married in the Philippines. I was complaining about having to travel for the wedding and she said she thought it was sweet. I asked her where she wanted to get married and she just smiled and said âwherever they are from. If heâs from Florida then weâll get married in Florida. If heâs from Montana, then weâll get married in Montana. If heâs from Korea, weâll get married in Korea. If heâs from Georgia though, weâre getting married in the Bahamas.â Thatâs just the kind of person she is, Bam. She wants to make sure the person she loves is happy and comfortable and wants to experience their culture with them.â
BamBam canât find the words to respond, so he simply nods and threads his fingers through Karlieâs again. Itâs quiet for a long time before he realizes that his soon to be mother-in-law has fallen asleep in the other chair. He gets up, grabbing the extra blanket from the cabinet nearby, gently placing it over the slumbering woman before returning to his silent vigil.Â
~~~~~
The next day is pretty uneventful, Tyler and Mark wandering in around eleven. The doctor comes in after lunch, talking in a bunch of jargon that BamBam doesnât understand before Karlie is wheeled out for about an hour, returning with a few less tubes and wires attached to her and the bandages gone. The day wears on, filled with meaningless chatter and stories from Karlieâs childhood and her time with Got7, until itâs already well into the evening and her parents decide they will both go home that evening. BamBam once again refuses to leave, and this time no one says anything. After they leave, he tries to distract himself from the quiet, surfing social media before quickly becoming bored. He ends up scrolling through his photo gallery, losing himself in the images of his fiance stored there. It's one of his favorite hobbies, taking pictures and videos of Karlie, capturing all of the different sides of her; the way she looks when sheâs sleeping, mouth slightly open and hair falling in her face; when she first wakes up, hair a mess and looking grumpy before having her coffee; the cute way her nose scrunches when she laughs. As he scrolls he comes across a video that looks to have been taken in the Got7 practice room that he doesnât remember taking. When he opens it, all he sees is a forehead.Â
âOh god! Why is that so close!â he hears Karlieâs voice, almost drowned out by the cacophony of laughter coming from the background, and the video pulls back showing Karlieâs beautiful face. She moves the phone to show whatâs happening behind her, and he sees himself held bridal style in Jacksonâs arms, laughing loudly as Jackson spins in circles, before the video moves back to Karlieâs face.Â
âYa know, sometimes itâs kinda hard to tell who heâs dating. Is it me? Is it Jackson?â Karlie says, laughing as she points to herself then over her shoulder before moving the camera again, this time showing that he has moved from Jacksonâs arms to Yugyeomâs, wrapping around his best friend like a koala as Yugyeom sprints around the room, before tripping over Youngjaeâs extended foot and they both end up on the floor, BamBam trapped under Yugyeomâs body.
âWhoops, maybe itâs Yugyeom. I donât know anymore.â The video focuses on Karlieâs face once more as she sounds annoyed but her smile shows that itâs all an act. Thereâs movement behind her that BamBam canât quite make out before there are suddenly hands on Karlieâs face, turning her head. BamBam gets a quick glimpse of his own face as he slams his lips against hers before the camera is suddenly moving very quickly, a clattering noise echoing from the phones speakers before the screen goes black. BamBam chuckles as he remembers when that video was taken, not having realized at the time that she had been recording in the first place. He continues scrolling through the gallery, passing more pictures and videos before he comes to one of his favorite videos, one taken for Instagram the morning after he had proposed. He had taken her on a weekend getaway for her birthday to a little bed and breakfast in the Scottish countryside. It was a place she had always wanted to visit and he wanted to make her birthday and the proposal special. They had gone to dinner and then for a walk near the lake and it had honestly been perfect. He opens the video, his face coming into focus, hair messy, dressed in a black tee with the sides cut out.
âWassup guys,â he says quietly, smiling sleepily at the camera as he makes his way into the bedroom of the suite they were staying in. He places the cup of coffee he carries on the bedside table before climbing onto the bed, collapsing next to a lump under the blankets. He pokes the lump causing it to shift and let out a groan and he chuckles.Â
âBamBam go away,â Karlieâs voice filters out of the bundle, speaking Thai.Â
âRude babe,â He says with a chuckle as he wiggles his way under the blankets and pressing himself as close to her as he can, her messy hair and eyes squinting as she glares at her fiance. The screen goes black before the sound of Karlie squealing and giggling filters through. When the screen lights up again, they are sitting up leaning against the headboard, BamBam leaned back against Karlieâs chest with her arms wrapped around his waist, hands clutching the coffee cup and her chin resting on his right shoulder.Â
âNo babe,â she whines, still speaking Thai, when she notices the phone in his hand and buries her face in his shoulder, âWhy are you filming? I have no makeup on! Please tell me this isnât going on Instagram.â
âNeither do I. Itâs fine. And I would be lying if I did.â BamBam says with a laugh as she groans. He threads his fingers with those of her left hand, showing off the diamond ring that rests on her ring finger, sparkling in the sunlight that filters in from the window. She starts grumbling in German and BamBam doesnât know what sheâs saying but heâs fairly certain itâs not nice.Â
âI have no idea what sheâs saying right now,â BamBam says in English, âBut I am fairly certain sheâs swearing at me in German.â
âYou would be correct in that assumption,â Karlie says with a smug smirk as she picks her head up from his shoulder and takes a sip of the coffee, âI can say it in a different language if you want me to.â
âNah,â BamBam says, smirking as well, âI wanna hear you say âI love youâ in Thai.â
She mutters something that the mic canât pick up as she rests her cheek on his shoulder once more, looking towards the window.Â
âThat is definitely not how you say âI love youâ in Thai,â he says laughing, âTh- That is actually quite rude, babe. Come on, say âI love youâ. Please?â
âChÄn rĂĄk ter,â she says with a sigh, but BamBam can hear the smile in her voice.Â
âGerman!â BamBam says.Â
âIch liebe dich.âÂ
âSpanish.â
âTe quiero," she says, resting her chin on BamBam's shoulder before her face scrunches in confusion, "Wait. Nope. That's I want you. Te amo is I love you. It's too early for this shit. I hate you.â
âNo you don't. You love me,â BamBam says as Karlie takes another drink of her coffee and rolls her eyes.Â
"I don't know why," she says with a smirk.
"That hurts me, babe," he says, placing the hand holding hers over his heart with a pout, "right here."
"You'll be fine," Karlie says and BamBam laughs.
"How about Korean?" BamBam says, and Karlie rolls her eyes again.Â
âSalanghae,â she says, pressing a kiss to his cheek.Â
âChinese!â
âWÇ Ă i nÇ.â
âJapanese,â Â he says looking smug.Â
âAishiteru.â
âEnglish!â he says, shifting himself a bit so he can look at her better.
âI. Love. You.â She says, punctuating every word by pressing a kiss to his lips, âAre you done now? Can you turn off the camera yet?â
âWell, I was gonna make an announcement,â BamBam says with a smirk, playing with the ring on her finger, âbut I donât remember what it was about âcause you distracted me with your amazing language skills, so yeah I guess I can. Peace out guys!âÂ
The screen goes black as BamBam chuckles, remembering the response he had gotten to that video. Instagram had blown up, grumbles about the ring and BamBam not outright saying that he had asked her to marry him. He had made a formal public statement announcing the engagement a couple of days later, once they had returned to Seoul. The other members had been mad because he never even told them he was planning it, Yugyeom hadnât spoken to him for a week. He feels tears stinging at his eyes again, thinking about just how close he had come to losing the love of his life, her survival still not one hundred percent certain. He sets his phone down on the table next to him and lays his head down on the bed next to Karlieâs hip, gripping her hand and pressing it to his lips, allowing the tears to slip from his eyes, and he cries himself to sleep.Â
~~~~~
Heâs awoken the next morning by someone slapping his face less than gently. He opens his eyes to see Carrie standing there, looking annoyed.Â
âAlright, get up,â She orders, and he blinks at her as he sits up. He looks blearily at the clock hanging on the wall and realizes that he only got maybe two hours of sleep. His back is stiff and his neck is cramping badly.
âWha-â heâs cut off by her reaching out and grabbing his ear, pulling him forcefully from the chair and out of the room, the sound of Markâs laughter echoing behind him. Heâll have to remember to hit Mark later, â OW! Shit! Mama, what are you doing?â
âI am tired of watching you sit there in that uncomfortable chair, fighting sleep,â Carrie says in exasperation, finally releasing his ear only to grab a hold of his wrist, preventing him from turning around. For someone so small she is deceptively strong, âPlus you are still wearing the clothes you wore on the plane. So we are going to go back to the house, you are going to shower, eat, and sleep in a real bed for at least six hours.â
âMama, Iâm-â he starts only to be cut off again as they make their way outside, the sun momentarily blinding him.Â
âBoy, if you try to tell me youâre fine, I will hit you,â she says quickly as she unlocks her car, âThen I will call your Ma. Donât test me. Now get in the car.âÂ
BamBam gulps audibly and nods, doing as he is told and climbing into the passenger seat, knowing that it isnât an empty threat. They drive in silence, only the quiet crooning of some country song playing on the radio being heard. When they reach the house, BamBam climbs out of the car and up the steps of the porch on his own, his ear still stinging from Carrieâs earlier attack.Â
âYour suitcase is in Karlieâs room.â Carrie says, nudging him towards the stairs as she makes her way towards the kitchen, âGo take a shower while I fix some breakfast.âÂ
BamBam nods quickly and trudges up the stairs and into his fianceâs childhood bedroom. He glances around quickly, taking in the soft purple walls, the large bed up against one wall, gray and purple sheets unmade, the photos and awards scattered around, the desk in the corner stacked high with books and the bookshelf against the other wall, piled high with more books and photos. Nothing has changed since the last time he was here, except the bridal magazines stacked neatly on the corner of her desk, small post-its poking out, marking pages of interest. He shakes his head and opens his suitcase, pulling out a pair of basketball shorts and a loose tee shirt, along with his toiletries, before heading into the adjoining bathroom. He only plans to take a quick shower, but the hot water feels so good on his stiff muscles that he canât help but stand under the spray, water beating down on his tense shoulders. By the time he is done, the water has gone cold and steam fills the bathroom. He dries himself quickly, pulls on his clothes, and makes his way downstairs, wandering into the kitchen to see Carrie setting a plate piled high with pancakes, eggs, sausage, and bacon onto the table along with a glass of orange juice. He hadnât realized just how hungry he was but the mouthwatering smell has his stomach growling rebelliously, catching Carrieâs attention and making her chuckle.Â
âEat,â she orders and he nods, plopping himself in the chair and digging in. He eats quickly, clearing his plate before leaning back in his chair with a content sigh for a moment then standing and taking his dishes to the sink with the intent of washing them.
âNo, Iâll do that,â Carrie says as she takes the sponge from him and gives him a small shove towards the kitchen door, âYou go up and sleep. I want you to try and get at least six hours. Weâll go back to the hospital after you wake up.Â
BamBam nods and thanks her for breakfast before making his way back upstairs. He flops down on the bed, letting the familiar scent of Karlieâs shampoo soothe him into a restless sleep.Â
~~~~~
He only manages four hours, not being able to sleep without Karlie next to him. He gets up quietly, not wanting to alert Carrie to his wakefulness, looking through his clothes from earlier for his phone, only to realize that he left it at the hospital when Carrie had dragged him out. He sighs in frustration before grabbing a pair of sweatpants, an oversized tee shirt, and his hoodie from his suitcase, dressing quickly before grabbing his phone charger and making his way downstairs. Carrie is sitting on the couch when he walks into the living room, flipping through a large book. As he gets closer, he sees that itâs a photo album containing photos from Karlieâs childhood. When she notices his presence, she closes the album, asking if he wants any lunch before they head back, not commenting on the fact that he didnât make it six hours. He shakes his head, more than ready to be back at Karlieâs side. They make the trip silently, not even the radio playing this time. When they make it back to Karlieâs room, Tyler is asleep in the chair against the wall and Mark is sitting in BamBamâs chair by the bed with headphones in, music blasting as he scrolls through social media on his phone. BamBam smirks to himself as he moves to stand behind his friend and flicks him hard in the back of the neck.Â
âAh, shit!â Mark exclaims loudly, clutching at the back of his neck, âThe hell, Bam!â
âYou're in my spot,â BamBam says, laughing loudly. Mark's outburst and BamBamâs laughter shakes Tyler from his slumber and he grumbles about overly loud children before letting out a huge yawn that has Carrie giggling next to him. They all settle in, talking and bantering much as they had the day before for the next couple hours, simply passing the time.Â
Itâs about 9 oâclock, as Tyler, Carrie and Mark are getting ready to leave that a groan grabs everyoneâs attention. They all wait with bated breath, hoping for another sign of waking from the unconscious woman. She groans again and shifts in bed, spurring everyone into motion. Carrie, Tyler and BamBam gather around the bed as Mark runs out of the room in search of a nurse. He returns a few minutes later, Josh in tow, just as Karlieâs eyes slowly flutter open. Everyone breathes a sigh of relief as her eyes drift around the room.Â
âHey baby,â BamBam breathes, smile breaking across his face, as Josh moves forward, checking the monitors and shining a small flashlight in her eyes which causes her to flinch and whine. Josh moves away from her, stepping over to a computer mounted on the wall, as Karlieâs eyes drift around again, never focusing on anything.Â
âHey baby girl,â Tyler says and her eyes drift to him for a moment. She gives no sign of recognition before her eyes move on again. She shifts again, seemingly looking for a more comfortable position as her eyes land on BamBam. Something flashes across her face for a moment, something akin to recognition, before her eyes fall shut again.
âWait, what happened?â Carrie asks, turning to Josh in a panic, âWhy didnât she say anything? Is she okay?â
âSheâs just fine,â Josh says, giving them a reassuring smile, âItâs normal for coma patients to come out of it slowly. Waking up multiple times without truly waking up. This will probably happen multiple times over the next few hours, maybe days, but thatâs okay. It means she is coming out of it. This is a good sign.â
Josh gives Carrie a pat on the shoulder and another smile before making his way out of the room. Everyone else settles back in, all previous thoughts leaving flying out the window. Itâs quiet, everyone lost in their own thoughts. BamBam never lets go of Karlieâs hand, eyes never leaving her face. Carrie and Tyler settle into the chair by the wall, while Mark makes himself comfortable on the wide window sill.Â
True to what Josh said, Karlie opens her eyes multiple times throughout the night, never focusing on anything for more than a few seconds, only keeping her eyes open for a couple of minutes at most before closing them once more.Â
~~~~~
He doesnât remember falling asleep, had never intended to in the first place, but when he opens his eyes, BamBam notices that the room is brighter, the sunlight just starting to spill into the room. Heâs leaned forward with his head pillowed on his arms, and he can see Tyler and Carrie asleep in the double chair against the wall, Carrieâs head resting on Tylerâs shoulder while Tylerâs head is leaned back against the wall.
He shifts, adjusting himself in the chair and turning his head the other way, catching sight of Mark asleep still perched in the window before closing his eyes again. He sits like that for a moment, attempting to go back to sleep while also trying to figure out what had woken him in the first place, when the feeling of fingers carding through his hair finally registers in his brain and his eyes snap open. He bolts upright and is met with the most beautiful blue eyes heâs ever seen, accompanied by a bright, tired smile. Â
âHey handsome,â Karlie whispers, voice rough from having not been used, and BamBam chokes out a breathy laugh, feeling tears prick at his eyes as he grabs her hand, pressing a kiss against her knuckles.Â
âHi,â he breathes, cupping the side of her face. She closes her eyes for a moment, leaning into his touch.Â
âWhat are you doing here, Bam? Shouldnât you be in Thailand?â she asks as she shifts before letting out a groan, âAnd why do I hurt so much?â
BamBam canât help the strangled laugh that escapes him as the tears finally break free. The sound wakes the other people in the room, and he hears a squeal from behind him. Thereâs a loud âoh shitâ from the window and he looks up in time to Mark tip sideways, limbs flailing as he falls from the sill, hitting the floor with a resounding thud.Â
âOh my god, Mark!â Karlie squeals as BamBam presses his mouth to her knuckles once more in an attempt to stifle his laughter, âAre you okay?â
âIâm good,â Mark groans, his voice strained as he lets a chuckling Tyler pull him up off the floor. Everyone crowds around the bed, smiles lighting up every face.Â
âHow are you feeling, baby girl?â Tyler asks, resting a hand on his daughterâs shin.Â
âLike I was hit by a truck,â she responds with a grimace, âWhy do I feel like I was hit by a truck?â
âWhat do you remember?â Carrie asks.
âGoing to dinner with Bree and Zoe, and Bam calling,â Karlie says, âNothing after that. Mom whatâs going on? Why are Bam and Mark here?â
âThat was-â Carrie starts but is cut off by the doctor walking in, followed closely by Josh.Â
âJosh? What-â Karlie starts before looking around the room, âOh. I am in the hospital. That explains a lot. It also raises a lot more questions.â
âHey, sis,â Josh says with a laugh, and BamBam raises an eyebrow in confusion, âI have questions, too, ya know. Like why you didnât tell your best friend you were getting married. I had to hear it from my sister, when she tells me sheâs gonna be your maid of honor.â
âUhh, not true,â Karlie says, pointing an accusatory finger at him, âI specifically called you that night and told you.â
âWas I working?â Josh asks with a smirk.
âI believe so,â Karlie says.
âGirl, you know better than that,â Carrie says with a laugh, âItâs hard enough to get the boy to remember what you tell him when he hasnât been working a 24- hour shift. Good luck if he has.âÂ
âAlright, fair,â Karlie says, laughing before grimacing and placing a hand on her head, âIâll tell you about it later, right now I want my own answers.â
âOh my God, I feel so stupid now,â BamBam blurts out, causing everyone to turn to him, âI knew you looked familiar. Youâre the best friend Kar is always talking about. How did I miss that? And how have we never met?â
âI work a lot,â Josh says with a laugh, âBut youâve met my twin sister. And my mom the other night.â
âBecky was here?â Karlie asks, and Josh nods.Â
âIâm done,â BamBam says, dropping his head to the bed, âThis world is too small.â
Everyone laughs and the doctor steps forward, asking Karlie basic questions about herself as he shines a light in her eyes then has her follow his finger. BamBam tunes him out, unable to take his eyes off of her face. The bruising is just starting to yellow at the edges and the scrapes have scabbed. The pupil of her right eye is ringed with red, and the stitches stand out against her pale skin. But her eyes are open and she is smiling and thatâs all that matters to BamBam.Â
The doctor leaves after a few more questions, stating that he would like her to stay for a couple more days so they can monitor her for any ill effects. Josh follows a few minutes later with promises of returning later for answers. Once they are gone, Karlie demands answers so Tyler tells the story again. Karlie listens intently, eyes widening as the story goes on. When heâs done, Karlie doesnât say anything, just nods, fiddling with the tube attached to her arm for a moment before looking up at BamBam.Â
âDid you call your mom, Bam,â she asks.
âUhh.â
âDonât worry,â Mark says, laughing, âYugyeom called her before we left.â
âOkay, but have you called her since you got here?â Karlie asks, and both boysâ eyes widen, âIâll take that as a no. Go call your mom, babe.â
âI will later,â BamBam says with a pout, âSheâs probably asleep. Itâs fine.â
âFine,â Karlie says as she scoots herself over a bit before patting the bed beside her, âThen get your scrawny ass over here and cuddle me.â
The others chuckle as BamBam smiles and nods before climbing onto the bed next to her. She cuddles into his side, resting her head on his chest, and he feels himself truly relax for the first time in days. He wraps his arm around her shoulders and places a kiss on the top of her head. They talk for a while, Mark regaling Karlie with stories of BamBamâs reaction to the situation and how her mom had dragged him out by his ear the day before as well as stories of the antics the rest of Got7 had gotten into in their absence. Karlie laughs and grumbles about her inability to leave the boys alone for extended periods of time as Tyler lets out a loud yawn. Carrie decides itâs time for them to head home, with Mark opting to stay with his two friends. After her parents have left, the three friends talk about anything they can think of for a while until Karlie falls asleep on BamBamâs chest. Mark dozes off in the chair a few minutes later. BamBam sits in silence for a while relishing in the feeling of her head on his chest, her warmth in his arms, before he too drifts off to sleep.Â
~~~~~~
Yugyeom and the other boys are just finishing up breakfast when Jacksonâs phone goes off. When he shows the other boys the text from Mark asking if theyâre up for a video call, everyone scrambles into the living room where Jaebeomâs laptop is set up. Thereâs a moment of wrestling between the five boys, all fighting for a place on the couch, which Yugyeom and Jackson lose, leaving them sitting on the floor. Jaebeom accepts the call without giving it a chance to finish the first ring and they are met with a somber looking Mark.Â
âHey, guys,â he says quietly, immediately putting everyone on edge.Â
âWhat happened?â Jinyoung asks, his voice filled with worry.
Before Mark can respond, something looking suspiciously like a pillow collides with the side of his head and his facade breaks as a familiar female voice echoes through the speakers.Â
âMark Tuan, if you donât get over here with that damn phone, I am gonna come over there and kick your ass.â Karlieâs voice filters through as Mark laughs, âAnd bring me my pillow back.âÂ
âThe hell you are,â Yugyeom hears his best friend scold as Mark moves over to sit next to their manager. When he does, Yugyeom sees Karlie sitting up in bed with BamBam on her left side, laying on his side with his head on her shoulder. She wraps her other arm around Mark as he settles his head on her other shoulder.Â
The boys all cheer excitedly at the sight of their manager awake and making threats. They all bombard her with questions; how is she feeling, how long has she been awake, is she getting enough rest, when are they coming home. She laughs and answers each question as best as she can. Yugyeom doesnât say much, focused on his best friend. The small smile gracing BamBamâs features is a welcome change from the broken look he had worn the night they had arrived and Yugyeom canât help but smile, too.
Karlie is alive and awake, BamBam isnât anxious anymore and all is right with the world.
heâs 17 // bambam got7
Genre: idk man.Â
pairing: bam bam x reader
word count: 766
background: poor little felix from stray kidâs almost felt bambamâs wrath.
* requested numbers 53Â âwhoâs your friendâ & 55 âIâm not jealous!â from this list.
Glancing at the time, you exhaled deeply. Late, again. To say you were surprised would be a lie. It was Bamâs only day off this week, and he was spending the day with Yugyeom, but promised to meet you for dinner with his best friend in tow. You ran your fingers through your hair, shaking your head softly at the thought of your boyfriend. He always meant well, but there was times where you wished he could be less.... forgetful. Glancing out of the window, you gazed upon the city view. The sun had gone down, and the city was illuminated by the lights that filled the homes, businesses, and cars in the city, reflectig off the puddles that had formed along the concrete. You watched as people scurried with umbrellas, and huddled close to avoid any droplets touching them.
ây/n noona?â a voice asked. You turned your head, smiling at one of the kids from the group you did makeup on. Working for JYP as a makeup artist was rewarding, you got to see Stray kids debut, and get to be part of their team.Â
âHi Felixâ you said, smiling at the youthful member. He smiled, bowing politely.Â
âWhat are you doing here all alone? And your hair looks nice, did you get it done? Itâs refreshing to see you outside of the company! It seems like you live there half the timeâ he teased. You laughed, shaking your head.Â
âThank you, I got it done just to look nice... my boyfriend and yugyeom are running a little late.â you said. He nodded and looked at his watch.Â
âWhy are you all alone Felix?â you asked.
âIâm waiting for the other members, I had a doctors appointment so I left practice early, and they said they would meet me hereâ he said.Â
âah okay, that makes sense thenâ you said. The jingle of the bell hanging off the entrance door cause you and Felix to look over. Bambam shook his head, trying to get any excess water out his hair. A huge smile was painted on his face as he watched Yugyeom hunched over, his laugh filling the place of business.Â
âyaaaahhh Yugyeom youâre being loudâ your boyfriend scolded, while keeping a smile on his face. He scanned the restaurant, eyes meeting yours. His eyes traveled to the young man, and quickly his smile faded. He walked over with Yugyeom, a cold expression on his face. His brows furrowed as he looked Felix over, confused as to why a kid could be talking to you. Felixâs face lit up at the sight of the pair. He bowed, greeting them politely. Being from the same company, the groups rarely had time to meet, he was awestruck at the sight of his sunbaenims.
âannyeonghaseyoâ he said, cheeks heavily blushed. They smiled politely at the young boy bowing as well.
â annyeongâ they said, greeting him and Bambam fixed his to you.Â
â Whoâs your friend baby?â he asked.Â
âThis is Felix, Iâm on his hair and makeup team, heâs part of stray kids, the group that debut with JYP.â you said, trying to make sure that your boyfriend kept his composure. He looked over at the dongsaeng, smiling at him.Â
âIâve heard of your group. You guys are talented. Do you like being an idol Felix?â he asked. Felix nodded.
âyes Hyung, we look up to your group a lot.â he said, stumbling over his words. Bambam smiled. The sound of the door caught your attention again, causing all of you to look over. The other members had walked in, and Felix looked visibly relieved.Â
âI should get going. Bye y/n noona. Nice to meet you hyungsâ he said, bowing and walking away. Bambam took a seat next to you, softly kissing your temple
âYour hair looks niceâ he said, you hummed in reply, laying your head on his shoulder. He protectively put an arm around you, glancing over his shoulder at the griup of young boys talking to Felix and glancing at your table.
âThank you.. and youâre lateâ you replied.
âtrafficâ the pair replied. Yugyeom eyed the two of you with a mischievous glint in his eyes.Â
âyaaaahh y/n, your boyfriend is jealous.â he teased chuckling. You felt Bambam connect his foot with Yugyeomâs knee, only causing him to laugh, while groaning in pain.Â
âIâm not jealous!â he said, rolling his eyes, and jutting out his bottom lip.Â
âI would hope not.. because heâs only 17âł you teased. Yugyeomâs laugh only got more intense.
ânow Iâm really not jealousâ he said, softly kissing your hand. _________________
