Backstory of Balan Wonderworld: Chapter 10 - Save the Scarecrow.

Streetbeat and Fighter with 5 tims ascended to the first chapter and were amazed at the beauty of this world.

Fighter: How interesting everything is here.

Streetbeat: No wonder they called him Scarecrow.

Fighter: But what if he's like all farmers who work until there are problems?

Streetbeat: Okay, you were right.

They came to the place where there was a gate in the stone wall. As they approached, they saw a Tornado Wolf in front of them.

Streetbeat and Fighter: Wolf!

Tornado Wolf: Don't be afraid, I'm not like in reality. My name is Tornado Wolf. I am the leader of all the suits, including representatives of my best friends.

Fighter: So you're a Scarecrow's representative.

Tornado Wolf: Yes. His problem was that the tornado had destroyed His crops. And it was a lot of work.

Streetbeat: But shouldn't he have done it all over again like any other farmer?

Tornado Wolf: Yes, but it turned out that he was doing it to earn money and send his son to college. He is now in the form of a huge wolf in another world. I'm with my friends because of you, but they won't let us into that world of monsters. You'll have to do it yourself.

Streetbeat: Good. Do you know how to get through the gate?

Tornado Wolf: Easy. But first, put on costumes in the form of me (He gave them crystals with keys to the children).

Fighter: Are you costume?

The children looked at the crystals and nodded to each other, and when they opened them with a key, they were already dressed in a Tornado Wolf costume.

The three entered through the gate and suddenly they saw Scarecrow sitting on the stone wall... Or it's not him.

He went in there and found himself on the other side of the fence. The children immediately entered the mirror and joined Tornado Wolf. This place had the rest of the farm scene costumes that they matched them to.

Costumes except Tornado Wolf: Hello newbies.

Tornado Wolf: These are my friends. Jumping Jack, Dainty Dragon, Elastiplant, Pounding Pig, Bad Metal Boy and Super Skater.

Fighter: Hello. We are Fighter and Streetbeat. We don't have any real names yet.

Streetbeat: But we came to save all the inhabitants and Lance.

Lance: How cute.

They were scared by his voice and he appeared through the portal.

Jumping Jack: This is the same Lance.

Streetbeat: Why did you turn them into monsters?

Fighter: And you're erasing our memories?

Lance: For fun. My brother Balan was right about that.

He snapped his finger and three GuraGuras appeared on the ground, and Lance disappeared immediately.

Dainty Dragon: Negativity!

Tornado Wolf: But you know what to do when you have a combat costumes.

Fighter: Yes.

Streetbeat: Uh... ok.

They run towards them while GuraGura waves her pigtails. They realized that they were not so threatening and immediately attacked. And they surprisingly did it the first time.

Streetbeat: It turned out and it wasn't scary at all.

Elastiplant: But that's just the flowers, it's going to get worse with other chapters.

Dainty Dragon: But during the battle, you can also use shooting costumes like me.

Tornado Wolf: The main thing is to take care of the others.

Fighter: We will try our best, we promise... (She looked at Streetbeat) Well.. I'm.

Streetbeat: You?

Fighter: I thought you weren't sure.

The girl put on this costume after she opened it and flew up to the button by clicking on it. The gate opened and they saw black tree with heart. Five Tims came up and destroyed the tree with magic, and the heart flew up to the two heroes.

Fighter: What could that possibly mean?

Super Skater: Perhaps this is the entrance to the Negabosses stage.

Jumping Jack: So the second tree is the entrance.

Tornado Wolf: So this is the answer.

Streetbeat: Then go ahead.

When they came to a new place, they saw a large slope in front of them, which made the human children shake their heads. Fortunately, Bad Metal Boy woke them up with his rock music.

Bad Metal Boy: Don't lose heart. Anything is possible in wonderworld.

Tornado Wolf: True, he might not be that tall.

Streetbeat: Okay, we're going.

When they walk, it turns out it wasn't a slope. It's just like a wheel turning.

Fighter: And it's true.

Arriving at a new location, they find the button again and Streetbeat clicked on it. It turns out that this button is activated with a gate where there was a ball that rolled and fell into the hole. From this, the gate opened and moved on.

Suddenly they were interrupted by negativity's conversations, but Streetbeat and the Fighter immediately moved into battle. They've managed to sort them out and are moving on. Later, they went up to a place where there was also a gate made of planks with a ball and a hole.

Tornado Wolf: You need to be more careful here. To avoid crushing anyone.

Tornado Wolf: Great.

They went to the button together and the boy pressed it. The gate opened and the ball rolled. After heading down the slope, the ball fell into the hole, the gate opened and they set off on their way.

They came to the final place where the gates were covered with tentacles.

Pounding Pig: I think there's going to be something scary.

Jumping Jack: We came.

Streetbeat: Ok, we went with tims.

Tornado Wolf: Keep in mind that they will also not be allowed to join the giants when they take down the tree.

Two teenagers with tims are walking in a circular area and stopped.

Two teenagers look at Rari-Rar in fear, who immediately pounced on them and they run away.

He decided to use the wolf costume to hit the lion, but the lion attacked and the boy dodged. Rari-Rar immediately attacked the Fighter who was running away from him. Suddenly she stumbles and the negative slowly walks towards her.

Fighter:(In fear) Good lion...

Streetbeat: Don't touch her! What should I do? (He remembered) In addition to using your hands, you can also use shooting. (To Dainty Dragon) Dragon, I need your costume!

Dainty Dragon: Yes!

He threw him a crystal with his costume and the boy was now in a Dainty Dragon costume. He immediately shot at Rari-Rar's tail and it panicked.

The fighter immediately stood up and watched as the boy fired once more at the negative when he attacked.

Pounding Pig: Look.

They saw that the tentacles had disappeared and the gate had opened. There appeared a triple tree with a heart.

Tornado Wolf: We wish you good luck.

Streetbeat: Thank you. (Shook hands with Tornado Wolf) And thanks for the tips.

Fighter:(She hug Jumping Jack, Pounding Pig and Dainty Dragon) You are very good friends.

They waved to each other and the children and tims went to the tree. When the chicks destroyed the tree, a ball appeared with a heart-shaped hole like Streetbeat and Fighter. They put their heart on the ball and the ball disappeared. Suddenly, two teenagers on the platform drove away, which made the suits get scared behind them.

Jumping Jack: They failed.

Tornado Wolf: Don't panic. Lance hardly wanted to kill me. Let's hope they can handle it.

Meanwhile, with Streetbeat and Fighter.

The two heroes stayed together as long as it was light.

Fighter: Streetbeat, do you know where we are?

Streetbeat: I don't know... Probably...

When they opened their eyes, they were surprised to find themselves in a cornfield.

Streetbeat: How many corns.

Fighter:(She noticed something) Look.

They saw in front of them the Scarecrow himself who was working in the garden. In the beginning, he dug the ground, then quickly changed the scene in rainy weather and carried the earth. Then, in the afternoon, the wind blew off his hat. Streetbeat decided to catch his hat, but it turned out that they couldn't touch it.

Streetbeat: We are like ghost.

Later, having changed the scene, the Scarecrow is already smiling at the sun. Everything seemed to be fine, but the weather quickly changed to a storm that blew everything away from the harvest. The farmer was upset that he dropped the shovel and everything went dark.

Scarecrow: The storm stole everything from me...

After his words, Streetbeat and Fighter got into the very Negabosses stage. Later, they heard a howl and saw in fear a hurricane that landed on the ground, and it turned out to be a blue wolf named Barktholomew. When he saw the heroes, he growled and immediately started jumping on them, and they ran away from him.

Fighter:(Have idea) I have an idea.

Streetbeat: Which one?

She jumped in a Tornado Wolf costume and hit the wolf like a hurricane. After that, he became angry and four pillars appeared on the ground, where Barktholomew stood taller than all of them. He started shooting stones until Streetbeat saw the Pounding Pig costume and realized by the color of the pole, put it on and stood on the pole.

Streetbeat: I look stupid, but what can I do?

He hit a pole and Barktholomew got hit.

Fighter: Well done Streetbeat.

The final phase, Barktholomew spins and three tornadoes appear. Realizing this, two teenagers in a Tornado Wolf costume struck one of the hurricanes that hit the wolf.

Streetbeat and Fighter: Turn out!

From the last blow, the wolf felt weakened and began to shine. Later, it shrank and a real Scarecrow appeared in a bright ball. The sky immediately turned blue, and when he landed on the ground, he opened his eyes and saw the heroes.

Scarecrow: You... save me?

Streetbeat: Yes... it's we.

Scarecrow: Costumes, Tornado Wolf, it is you.

Jumping Jack: And these are our new friends Streetbeat and Fighter.

Elastiplant: They don't have a name yet.

Scarecrow:(To Streetbeat and Fighter) Thank you so much for saving me.

Three human people headed out into the world. They were in the garden of ruined corns. Scarecrow was not himself, but nodded and took a shovel.

Fighter: Not happening.

When the farmer turned around, he was surprised and ran up to one intact corn.

Scarecrow: Not happening... You're right. Even if something is destroyed, there is still a chance to rebuild.

The two teenagers were happy about this, until the boy began to think that he did not want to communicate, realized that there was nowhere without friends.

In the Isle of Tims.

Balan was lying on the grass and looking at the sky, until Po ran up to him, who tells him that Streetbeat, Fighter, Scarecrow and costumes are here.

Balan: Yeah? (He noticed them) Guys!

They come out of the first chapter and the maestro flew up to them with a smile hugging them.

Streetbeat: Oh...

Balan: I'm so glad to see you and you've done well.

Scarecrow: To be honest, I'm glad to see you too. (He noticed others chapters) It turns out there are other inhabitants like Bugsy and me.

Fighter: And who is she?

Scarecrow: This is my friend, and she's clearly turned into a monster too.

Balan: Don't panic, we'll all save the inhabitants. You just need to take a good break from adventures.

Streetbeat: Well, honestly, I'm not too tired.

Fighter: I'm too.

Balan: Then get ready for the next chapter, Ocean World.

Streetbeat and Fighter: Wow.

Balan: It tells about a girl who was friends with a dolphin.

The Sleeping Princess Chapter 10

First Previous

Here’s chapter 10!

When they emerged from the mirror, Emma, The Sleeping Princess, and the Tim were met with a whimsical train station.

“Seriously?! There were trains here this whole time?! Why didn’t anyone tell me sooner?! I’ve been running around on foot like an idiot!” The Sleeping Princess whined as she gestured to the large, whimsical train before them.

“Lance probably didn’t tell you about the trains because he didn’t want you to leave.” Emma explained sheepishly.

“Yeah, I guess that makes sense.” The Sleeping Princess sighed as she scooped up the Tim.

“Well we better climb aboard before it heads off!”

And with that, Emma hopped aboard the train and gestured for The Sleeping Princess to follow.

The Sleeping Princess didn’t need to be told twice!

She tucked the Tim under her left arm and climbed aboard the train.

Upon entering the train, The Sleeping Princess immediately plopped down into an empty seat.

“Oh god! It feels so good to rest my feet!” The Sleeping Princess cheered as she placed the Tim in her lap.

“I bet! How long have you been running for?” Emma asked as she sat in the seat in front of her.

“If I’m being honest, I’m not sure. I sorta forgot the concept of time really existed here.” The Sleeping Princess admitted as she stroked the Tim.

“Yikes! You must’ve been here for a while!” Emma noted sympathetically.

“I guess so…”

And with that, The Sleeping Princess somberly gazed out the window.

She watched the blurs of various stages pass by as she rested her head on her palm.

No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn’t get that Hat Man out of her head.

Why was he claiming to be her boyfriend yet encouraging her to leave Wonderworld in the same breath?

If he was her boyfriend, surely he’d want her to stay with him right?

And why did he remind her of her negative memories?

What kind of boyfriend would want his girlfriend to remember why she’s suffering?

Did he enjoy making others upset?

Was that why he was he smiling so much?

Although that smile did fade when they met on that tree.

In fact, he seemed rather worried about her.

But why was he so worried? He surely didn’t care about her well-being if he wanted to remind her of all of her negative memories right?

Unless… He wanted her to remember her positive memories too.

Perhaps that was The Hat Man’s true goal.

To bring back all of her memories both positive and negative.

But what would he gain from that?

Why did he want her to remember so badly?

Maybe it was just to get her to leave Wonderworld?

That would make sense.

Maybe The Hat Man didn’t like humans and wanted them all to leave?

But if that was the case, then why was he crying on that tree?

And why did he go on about some kind of test?

What was that test supposed to be about and why did he want her to take it?

The Sleeping Princess let out a sigh as more and more questions swirled in her mind.

“Are you ok?”

The sound of Emma’s sympathetic voice jolted The Sleeping Princess back to reality.

“Oh! Oh yeah. I’m fine. Just exhausted from all my running around.”

The Sleeping Princess knew that wasn’t too far from the truth. She was utterly exhausted.

Emma seemed to accept that answer and the train car grew quiet for a moment.

It was then The Sleeping Princess broke the silence.

“Emma, do you think that this… Balan guy can answer my questions about Wonderworld?”

“Of course he can! He’s the maestro of Wonderworld! I bet he knows everything!” Emma reassured with a grin.

“Huh. I do recall you mentioning that earlier but, I thought Lance was the maestro of Wonderworld.” The Sleeping Princess stroked the Tim as she spoke.

“Lance isn’t the maestro of Wonderworld! He just tricked you into thinking that he is! Balan told me that Lance wants to feed off of negative drops. That’s why he’s pretending to be the maestro. He wants to keep everyone here and harvest their negativity!” Emma explained frantically.

The Sleeping Princess felt her stomach churn.

That would explain why Lance’s eyes were always so empty.

But one question still remained.

“So uh does he like, try to like date everyone he traps so he can harvest their negativity or?”

“What? No! He just builds them stages were they can play forever.” Emma corrected.

“Oh…” The Sleeping Princess looked down at her bare feet.

“Hey, did Lance do something to you?”

“Well not exactly a bad thing. He asked me to be his girlfriend. That’s why I was staying in his room. He wanted to keep me away from The Hat Man.” The sleeping princess explained sheepishly.

“He what?! Why would he do that?! Doesn’t he know you’re already Balan’s girlfriend?” Emma exclaimed as she flailed her arms.

The Sleeping Princess nearly choked on her own spit.

“Wait! Wait! Wait! Girlfriend?! I thought you said we were close friends!”

“I thought you knew what I meant. Adults always say stuff like ‘close friend’ when they mean girlfriend or something right?” Emma asked as she rubbed the back of her head.

“Ok, maybe most adults do that sort of thing but not me! You gotta be upfront with me! Especially about things like this!” The Sleeping Princess spluttered as she threw her hands in the air.

“Ok! Sorry! Sorry!” Emma yelped as she held out her hands defensively.

The Sleeping Princess let out a sigh.

“Look it’s fine, alright? You didn’t know.”

“Still though…”

“Don’t worry about it. Let’s just change the subject ok?” The Sleeping Princess asked with a huff.

“Um ok then…”

A few moments of awkward silence passed before The Sleeping Princess muttered to herself,

“Will that Balan guy even recognize me? I couldn’t even recognize myself normally let alone like this…”

“Don’t worry, Sleeping Princess. I know Balan will recognize you! He loves you! And the power of love always wins!” Emma cheered dramatically.

The Sleeping Princess and the Tim gave Emma a confused look.

“Well at least that’s what I heard on TV, anyway…” Emma laughed sheepishly.

The Sleeping Princess couldn’t help but chuckle.

While she didn’t have the heart to tell Emma not to believe everything she heard on TV, she still found her enthusiasm endearing.

“And I know you’ll recognize Balan too! I bet once you see him again, you’ll get your memories back!” Emma insisted excitedly.

“I hope so…”

The Sleeping Princess tried to sound enthusiastic but deep down, she was scared out of her mind.

It was bad enough she got back some horrible memories. She didn’t even want to imagine what other mental horrors she may uncover.

However, when she saw her corrupted reflection in the window, she knew it was a risk she had to take.

As if on cue, the train had finally reached its destination and had screeched to a stop.

Balan Wonderworld Review: Favorite Costumes Part 2

Before we get started, I like to say something. I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE TIM TRAPS. If you don't know, there is a specific plant that tends to appear in certain levels called Tim Traps. A carnivorous orange flower that's favorite meal is TIMS. If you kick the plants, you can free your Trapped Tim or prevent one from getting trapped for a short period of time. Problem is if the Tim is trapped for too long, your baby is gone for good. Chapter 3 and Chapter 5's Act 3 are loaded with these annoying plants. To the point if I can't find the trapped Tims, I exit out of the game just to save my poor fluffballs. Ain't sacrificing my little birds for Drops and Trophies! Mini rant over.

Rules are the same as before. I'd be ranking both a Common Costume and Rare Costume. Common Costumes are easily to find whether it be in multiple levels and Rare Costumes are those that rarely appear or are difficult to get.

I'll be doing my favorite Secret Costume after playing all Act 3s for each chapter. Now let's begin.

Chapter 7

Common Costume- Floaty Flower

The Flower Fairy and greatest glider found in the main story. Floaty Flower is a costume that can be found in the Act 1, 2 and the Boss Act, it offers a slower descent but faster movement than the hover for Soaring Sheep.

I love this costume not for its aesthetic but a cute Easter Egg I found in Chapter 7 Act 1. On rare occasions, this costume is an NPC that actually flirts with you! Some NPCs in certain chapters act differently from their standard counterpart. They often try to disguise themselves or runaway. Catching them grants you a free costume of the one you caught.

Floaty Flower will appear and follow you, similar to a shy school girl with a crush. If you go to her, she will run which is a similar action to any shy person getting approached by their crush. Also... I think there is some lore hidden in this one that might be quite sad if it's directly linked to Cal, the human whose heart created this particular world. If so then... OOF.

Rare Costume - Paladin Puncher

A knight fights with his fists than a sword. This costume can be found in Act 2 and is a stronger version of the Pumpkin Puncher that can break iron or ice blocks. He's a bit slower than his Chapter 6 counterpart but perfect breaking the more blocks and defeating spiky enemies.

I also love the fact this costume goes against the traditional tools of a knight. Knights often fight using swords, shields, lances and rare occasions bows or axes. If you give me one who PUNCHES or straight uses martial arts to fight then you got my vote in seconds.

Chapter 8

Common Costume - Snow Fairy

Elegant dancer of ice and snow. The Snow Fairy costume allows the wearer to walk on air for a short period of time and can in found in Act 1 and Act 2. This costume does have a shorter usage time than Air Cat but makes up for it with the added elevation.

I absolutely adore how elegant and beautiful this particular costume is. You can compare the Snow Fairy to myths often related to fae or hidden in the freezing mountains. An otherworldly beauty that makes any hardship worth seeing just a being before your eyes. Being a reindeer type Faun just adds to the mystique and creating snowflakes to walk on is a perfect extra touch.

Rare Costume - Amadeus

Sophisticated pianist. A costume that can only be found in Act 1 and is a performing costume. Now I am a big fan of piano covers, whether it be covers of game osts or actual songs, there is rarely any piano music I don't like.

I love the fact he's wearing piano keys as a collar and even has a tutu made out of those very keys. A very creative take to a normally grounded instrument. And the big white wig is a nice touch since it's often portrayed with pianists in various media.

Chapter 9

Common Costume- Iron Panda

Adorable crusher. Iron Panda is a costume found in Act 1 and Act 2 with the ability to break iron blocks using both its jump and weight. This costume is surprisingly fast for a rather large and heavy form, perfect for fast stomps on enemies or quick getaways if you have rare costumes you don't want to lose.

This costume reminds of a rolling Russian Doll with a panda theme. Very adorable, the bluish purple color suits the white very nicely and I love that sleepy look on its face. The large blue dots on its sides are actually the arms too, they mimic panels! Only thing that unnerves me is when the costume turns their head by a 90 degree angle. Super creepy when using it.

Rare Costume- Merry Ghost

Cute and Spooky! The Merry Ghost is a costume that can be found in Act 2 and gives the ability to constantly float. It's main purpose is to avoid ground hazards like poison swamps and has a larger slightly floaty jump. The only downside is that you can't harm enemies with this, it's only for quick mobility.

Very adorable especially with the stitched rag cloak covering the body. It has this Mimikyu sort of vibe but also a Casper the Friendly Ghost aura too. Friendly spirits are often tossed aside for more vicious or antagonistic ones in a lot of media. Getting an adorable friendly one just adds points in my book and a good pal for Casper.

Chapter 10

Common Costume - Inky Blaster

Yuji Naka's take on a squid kid. This costume can be found in Act 1, Act 2 and the Boss Act. She allows the wearer to throw fast globs of rainbow paint at opponents or targets and is decently agile.

Love that her hands are paintbrushes and is based on the octopus. Tentacles mimicking the frills of a dress and used for hair and feet? A very creative take and splattering rainbow paint on the annoying types of Negati (looking at you ya divebomb happy Pelican and destroyer of most of my good costumes) is very therapeutic.

Rare Costume- Air Unicorn

The first unicorn I like?! This costume can only be found in Act 1 and allows the user to walk on air farther than Air Cat. The practical godfather of mobility, and recovery. You won't believe how many times this costume has gotten me to very difficult areas and saved me from death via falling into the abyss.

It is a very tricky costume to find but if you turn around, there's a large paintbrush on the wall. You need the Double Jumper to get on top but you'll be able to see a hidden mirror. That is where the Air Unicorn is located.

I won't lie that unicorns are not my preferred mythological creature. I live in America where unicorns tend to be oversaturated to oblivion and don't get me started on My Little Pony. The show isn't my cup of tea but I do have some followers and friends who are fans. People have their own opinions and it's rude to question them about it.

I honestly love the elegant but cute design, the purple, pale pink and cyan just fit well with the white, I also love that the mane mimics a paintbrush tip and the large light purple collar of fur is a perfect touch to this fine design.

Chapter 11

Common Costume - Bulldozer

A man's punny best friend! This costume can be in Act 1, Act 2 (?), and the Boss Act. It lets you push special construction blocks and you can boost the push speed by button mashing.

They definitely took a lot of creative for costumes in Chapter 11 amongst the other ones in my opinion. Fire Stations tend to have some animal companions with dogs being the most common but instead of a Dalmatian for the design they used a Bulldog! 😍

Like the aforementioned machine, this good boy is bulky, has the appropriate color scheme and even the hands turn into bulldozer's shovel when using the ability! I love the fact his tail is wagging when you push a block and it wags faster if ya button mash!

Also the name is a pun!

Rare Costume - Fiery Blaster

Pyromancer of Lions. The Fiery Blaster costume can only be found in Act 2. It gives the wearer that ability to throw large fireballs alongside fire and lava immunity. If you hate lava levels or have difficulty with this Chapter's boss then I recommend getting this Costume.

First thing I like to say about this particular design is how they use the colors. Looking at the mane, you can see how the red and darker red are patterned in a way to mimic flames. The dark red fur on the feet are even in fire like a pattern. The outfit such as the yellow and brownish kilt alongside the gloves spewing fire around the wrists just reminds me of a fire dancer.

I can see this fella wielding one of the torches a fire dancer uses and just put on a spectacular show.

Chapter 12

Another loveable version of a beloved icon. The Invisible Man costume can be found in Act 1, Act 2 and the Boss Act. It has the power to turn the wearer invisible for a period of time and become undetected to enemies that aren't bosses.

Agile and perfect to deal with enemies who are very annoying or are difficult snipers. You don't know how satisfying it is to give the more aggravating Negati an invisible middle finger by sneak attacking them. I have lost many costumes whenever enemies got the drop on me so it's fair to dish out payback.

I love how this design takes aspect from the popular icon but also have it relate to their human counterpart. Bandages were used by the original Invisible Man to cover skin his normal clothing couldn't cover in public and made it easier for him to disappear when needed.

The shoes and arms being covered in bandages and some of the bandages being used as bangs for the hair is a nice touch.

Rare Costume - Jolt Tiger

Immovable Taser. This costume can only be found in Act 2. It grants electricity immunity and create a barrier when you stand still. One of the better costumes for baiting particular enemies. You do have to be careful because a single itch will stop the barrier.

If you don't know, the Tiger is my Chinese Zodiac and electricity is one of my favorite elements. Love the yellow lightning bolt flairs and even the black stripes mimic lightning too! I also like the will o' wisp pattern on the stomach and the large tuft of grayish fur around the chest. The design puts it above the Sun Walker.

And that is it! The next thing I will cover is the level design and it's music. The bosses will be done last since it's good to save the best for last!

Wonderful Hunter

Chapter 1: Awakening

Life was very odd when it came to the future. Sometimes souls are brought together in the most extreme circumstances...in a bang. Warning: Description of graphic injuries and swearing! Rating Estimate: Teen

I never wanted to be a hunter. Ever since I was little, there was a desire in me to perform. Dance on the stage to my own melody, to bring awe and in wonder for others to witness. A dream that I never had a chance to grab.

To perform in little free time, what wasn't taken by vigorous unwanted training. Nearly every piece of money made to buy materials with the purpose of crafting costumes was placed for ointment to mend any injury or ailment. A toy soldier who wished to no longer have a winding key.

Who would've thought that day where the key had broken was the day I died?

"What the hell did you do?!" The soft whir of electricity echoed through the void in a massive blur of distortion. Voices clear for all to hear but so jumbled that a possible identification of even a gender was impossible. Under all that chaos was a quiet heartbeat. "The machine is overloading! Everyone evacuate immediately!"

That soft whir grew into a high pitched whine as a formed cacophony alongside the harsh thuds from thousands of stomping feet. "___?! No, come back it's too dangerous! Leave that mongrel behind!" Growls of pain and concern from some unknown animal blend together with the crackle of electricity.

An explosion of bright white and velvet purple burst throughout the void with that heartbeat going silent and a small voice hidden amongst it all. Despite the darkness filling the abyss, sensations of phantom pain, muffled voices full of concern, and hands across the skin, that one voice overrides them all.

"We had a good run, pal. Misfits always stick together, ____."

Bright red eyes opened with a harsh start, their owner fully aware of the unfamiliar dimly lit room around them. These confused ruby orbs belonged to a young man around his mid 20s, and almost nude except for the black boxer briefs. Wild cherry blossom pink hair that ends halfway down the man's back, soft peach tan skin, 6'8 tall body sculpted with lithe but powerful muscle and covered in various scars.

Some of these healed wounds were mild such as scratches, bite marks, punctures but there were extreme ones from burns whether it be acid, electric or fire, 2 in deep lacerations to even a large bite mark on the jugular of his neck. Part of the man's body such as his chest and arms were covered in fresh gauze bandages paired with a crude makeshift splint on the right arm.

Raising an eyebrow, the young man removed the bandages whilst breaking the splint with a harsh pull before he took in his surroundings. The room seemed to belong to someone with a rich background from the decor alone. Pastel blue walls lined with beautiful expertly painted portraits, furnished dark oak dressers, a large vanity, double king sized bed complete with silk sheets, pillows, and hard oak frame, large oak wardrobe and three separate doors.

If anything, this made the man feel very out of place. He did catch what looked to be a pair of clothes folded by a table near him, a note on top of the stack. The pinkette delicately got out of the large bed and walked over to the table. 'Dear guest, sorry if I had to leave you a bit underdressed but your wounds needed to be addressed. Hope these would suit you until your wounds finally finish healing. The discussion about the armor would be a later dealing. Sincerely, Maestro of Wonderworld Theatre, Balan."

The man couldn't help the snort or raised eyebrow from the rhyme scheme of the note. His caretaker had left a plain white shirt and long black pants, the material being silk from spiders by the feel of it. Placing the clothes on, he noticed it was a perfect fit suspiciously as it wasn't too tight or loose.

Upon leaving the room, the young man fully understood where he was. It seemed to be a theatre, well, if a theatre was mixed with the dimensional size of a small mansion and aesthetics of a castle. The grand small staircases, rafters above a tall ceiling, fancy torches hanging through a few corridors and the various posters of different shows being some evidence.

As the pinkette walked down the halls, he couldn't ignore the feeling that he was either being watched or led somewhere. The corridors felt wrong, almost if the walls were alive and shuffling each other. He also can't forget the sensation of invisible eyes on his lone form. Whatever the case, the sound of someone talking or to be precise, two people grew louder.

"You are not touching my guest, Lance. Even if the man is odd, I will still hold a defensive stance./ That human isn't normal. Something you would easily notice if you drop being formal. Injuries on his flesh were those that can kill any human. You aren't blind to that weapon and armor made from materials that aren't of man."

Both voices were definitely male in tone and their owners' clearly arguing. The first voice was deep and had a texture similar to smooth chocolate, a type of sweetness paired with charisma. The second voice was softer just as it was light in pitch, however there was hidden animosity to the calm yet alluring tone, a siren luring their delusional prey.

All of it was coming behind a slightly opened door, perfect to peek through or eavesdrop. Quietly the pinkette tiptoed over to the oak frame, ruby eyes looking into the room on the other side. This particular door led to what appeared to be a bar from the kegs put on the side of the bar stand and the various liquor bottles stacked on the shelves behind it.

Sitting at a table adjacent to each other were two humanoids, both being significantly different from the other. The only traits these two oddities shared were their tall 10 maybe 11 ft tall forms, peculiarly thin waists, tendril-like hair, performer attire, spindly arms and spindly legs. Other than that, they could be considered Yin and Yang or opposites.

The one on the left had soft jellyfish-like pastel green hair similar to dreadlocks, pitch black skin, a large perpetual toothy smile, and amber yellow eyes that peered through his hat. A sparkling white hat bearing a red ribbon which acted like a mask for those odd eyes, red cravat, long sleeved short white coat with gold elegant rims, a black tuxedo vest, short red cape alongside fancy white gloves, long glittering white pants that were ruby red past the thigh with gold rims on the bottom, and white pointed shoes.

His opposed companion looked more human except for some glaring details. Deathly pale skin highlight by soft dark violet, long elven ears, blue eyes bearing slit pupils that dwelled in yellow iris, sharp clawed fingers, and long black tendrils with elegant markings in various colors such as green, pink, blue and yellow that sprung from the man's back but was also his hair.

A pitch black bodysuit with gold rims, torn long sleeved short violet cloak bearing elegant gold embroidery for a top, white mask shaped pauldrons on his bony hips and gold toed shoes made for nasty kicks. Wine glasses sat between these two eldritch like entities.

"Dragging others into darkness might be your role, but this one isn't taking a more grizzly toll. He is also greatly injured and like you said could've been dead if I didn't help instead." Spoke the top hatted male, that deep velvet voice belonging to him. It also meant that the darker counterpart had to be Lance from what the pinkette heard outside.

The young man scanned the room, ruby eyes looking for anything familiar to him. His focus immediately sharpened on the glint of darkish violet poking from a large wooden crate, belonging stripped off the pinkette. Carefully and quietly, the man opened the door then slipped inside.

He stuck close to the floor and moved about as the two slender giants were focused on their conversation. It was almost comical how the young man traveled on his hands and feet like a predatory cat, stealthily approaching the target without a sound.

The pinkette was about to reach for the box when the unexpected happened. The door he went through had slammed itself shut with a loud thud, both giants immediately pulled out of their conversation and watched as the chairs parted away from each other. An act that put the stunned human on full display, a deer in the headlights or hand in the cookie jar situation.

No one moved as it was a silent staredown, neither were expecting the chairs or door to come to life like that. It was the man who immediately broke out of his stupor first, the pinkette sidekicking the crate. The box shook as an object was flung out of it by the harsh force, a gun.

It was a double barrel shotgun that was an inky sinister violet in color, the barrels were that same violet but lightened to a red color by the end, the handle of the gun mimicked a dark violet scabbard bearing tannish gold spiral patterns on the side, bone like caparace similar to a segmented blade lined the bottom of the gun barrel and held the trigger within a bone like cage.

With very fluid movements, the pinkette grabbed the descending gun from the air by the handle and spun it until he was holding the trigger whilst the barrel was aimed at the two taller entities. Sapphire and amber could see the subtle cautious fear hidden in those steeled ruby orbs.

"Who the hell are you? And where am I?" The pinkette's voice was slightly rugged, fire within the husky baritone, and a bit of a growl in the pitch. You could hear how deadly serious the human male was at the moment from his voice alone. Lance and his unnamed companion carefully put their hands in the air, sudden movements would only spook the pinkette further.

"There is nothing to fear, you are completely safe here! Please put the gun down, such an item used in a theatre is a huge frown!" Even that giant smile remained despite the slight twitches that showed the top hatted male's nervousness, well, that plus the beads of sweat and now dot sized pupils.

Lance merely raised an eyebrow at the weapon. "You do know it is rude to destroy those bandages you were given? Balan had some difficulty but his will to help you was focused and driven." Those words made the pinkette lower his weapon but not drop it.

He contemplated the words then thought back to the note. Whatever conclusion that came to mind was enough for the smaller man to put the gun down on the table, something that eased the room's occupants. "That means you're Balan? Fucking hell. What the hell happened to me?" The pinkette questioned as he went to sit on the floor only for a chair to move in place instead.

An action that made the human jump back in shock, nearly kicking the chair. "Bloody hell! My day has already been Congalala shit so I really don't need all these magical shenanigans! Please tell me you have some liquor to spare." Balan and Lance could only look at each other completely aware of a very odd explanation.

Not even 5 minutes later, the pink haired man had down half a bottle of wine as he now sat with the taller odd men in the room. Massaging his head, the mortal man finally spoke up. "So I am in a magical sentient theatre that serves as a gateway to someone's heart. You two, mainly Balan, are tasked to use that magic to bring balance to anyone whose heart is out of place upon entering. Nearly godlike beings who performed this task for over 3000 years?"

The top hatted Maestro nodded his head in agreement while Lance took another swig of his wine glass. Both of them ignored the pinkette swearing under his breath, the guy was having a bad day so it was normal. Although none of them could deny that this particular person was anything normal at all.

"Alright. My name is Val'tah, Val'tah Choso and I'm a Monster Hunter." Val'tah quickly raised his hand up before Balan and Lance almost immediately shot out of their seats. "Whoa! Not that kind of hunter for Namielle's sake so don't have your knickers in a bunch. Do any of you have a pen and paper?"

Magically upon request, the mint green haired performer took out a pen and notepad from behind his cravat. Rolling his eyes, the hunter took the items and began to draw something on the paper. Val'tah then placed it on the table for both Maestros to see.

It was a sketch of what looked like a dragon made completely from stone. Stony humps that grew bits of moss protruding from the back, a tail that looked like large pebbles strung together, even flat wings to a wide meteor shaped body and narrowed rhinoceros-like face. "That is a Basarios, a Monster or species of monster."

Lance and Balan looked at the picture with curiosity. It definitely explained why the man had that sort of weapon or armor. "Hunters are sort of like mercenary peacekeepers. Whenever a monster starts a huge ruckus or someone has a job in monster infested territory, we get called to do it."

Taking a swig from the wine bottle, much to Balan's distaste, Val'tah continued. "We don't have to slay targets such as the Basarios if we want to. A Hunter has permission to capture and relocate any large monster to a better habitat, something that I usually do. Where I'm from, it's our duty to keep the balance of not only the ecosystem but between human and monster kind."

A hum of acknowledgment rumbled from Lance's throat, it was almost comical in a sense. Normal hunters have various goals in mind when it comes to hunting: glory or survival. This was the first time hearing about ones who bring balance amongst more dangerous fauna and humans. How very ironic.

"Very interesting, to imagine there is a world beyond the realm of our understanding. There is still a question, how did you end up in our sacred bastion?" Balan's question rang through Val'tah's head alongside a bit of pain. Memories flashing through the pinkette's mind as a look of solemn horror crossed his face.

"I'm remembering it now. I was assigned to an expedition to investigate some odd ruins located near Wyvern's End, a den of a very dangerous monster. Those ruins were actually a machine that accidentally turned on and… I think I was caught in an explosion. Dear Namielle, I think I died."

Silence washed over the room, it was so deafening that a pin drop could be considered a bomb going off. Balan's perpetual smile dropped into a neutral frown, horror crossing his eyes upon the hunter's visage earlier. Severe burns on the unprotected skin and his arm in a very unnatural angle...Wait.

Any other chance to say anything was stopped when a look of abstract terror and grief burned within Val'tah's eyes. "No…! Buena was with me. She must have got caught in the blast too! Where's Buena?!" The pinkette shot out of his chair, the piece of furniture hitting the floor with a loud thud.

Neither Lance or Balan could grab the hunter before he ran for the door, the hard oak opening into a gray expanse of rocky terrain than the actual hallway. Not that the change deterred the hunter as Val'tah ran in but surely took the two Maestros by surprise.

"The theatre opened its doors to a new world never seen before! Could this be the hunter's trauma born from his core or is it something more?" Balan was quick to pick out the growing intrigue within his darker counterpart's words. There was more going on with Val'tah but they couldn't figure it out without finding the man.

Both Maestros quickly ran through those doors to catch up with the hunter and his questionable head start. It appeared that the gray expanse was actually the part of a larger mountain, a steppe to be more accurate. Thick deciduous forests could be made out past some of the gray rocky cliffs other than the one the door led them there, vast yellow fields of grass and very rough uneven terrain laid alongside unknown fauna than just plants.

Or the terrifying large nest made from various sticks, broken logs, ivy, bones of different creatures; humans included, and large egg shell remains of whatever species made it. The only indication that this world was made by Val'tah's heart were the small floating islands and giant airborne accessories or props.

Ribbons woven through part of the forest, a showman's cane that hung by the cliff leading down to the grassy plain, masks hanging across the stone walls, and instruments disguised as plants or rocks playing beautiful music bearing a tribal origin by the beating drums, whistling flutes and sitar strings being strung.

"How very odd and peculiar. This place must be spawned from a memory very familiar. It will be harder to avoid any wrong, when the aura of this world is heavily strong." Balan spoke wearily, a feeling that they were being watched prickle the fuzz on his skin. There was also the strong sensation about splitting up being a very bad idea.

Using the cane to slide down to the forest below helped give both theatre dwellers a quick glimpse of the surrounding areas before they hit the ground. For a split second, Lance swore he saw something large moved through the trees. Whatever it was, it was too big to be Val'tah or any of his familiars.

Both Maestros landed on a reddish clay ridge, small ledges to an almost natural stone bridge connected the large ditch at the center, a small stream of water passing down the middle, various large mushrooms and beehives leaking honey from multiple branches. Or that they weren't exactly alone.

Grazing about the area were deer, their pelts were a dark green speckled by white dots that overlapped a soft peach underbelly, large grayish silver antlers for the males whilst the females had short black horns and azure eyes that stared at the duo. Some of the deer continued to munch on the flora while the others kept a wary gaze on Balan and Lance.

"Definitely inhabitants of Wonderworld but not quite. I think these deer were crafted by Val'tah's memories that hold powerful might." If these animals shared similar traits to their earthly counterparts, the Dark Maestro knew they were relatively harmless unless provoked.

Another thought then immediately crossed Balan's mind. "If these creatures are here, then we might have more to fear. These deer are prey…" Suddenly the various green pelted beasts rose their heads up, ears twitching as if they caught something the other two hadn't.

"Wouldn't a predator cause dismay?" The top hat wearing man really didn't like where things were going as the large herd began to scatter immediately when the sound of heavy thuds could be heard. One deer was running for the bridge, the thuds stopped and both Maestros only had time to blink when something large and purple snatched the scared fawn off the stone ground.

"Holy shit." Balan would've scolded Lance for foul language if they didn't have a bigger problem on their hands. The body of the snatched deer hung limply from the jaws of a giant purple monster. A 69 ft hulking dark violet draconic tiger, its body mostly covered in violet and yellow edged plates of caparace like armor bearing a ruby red underbelly, a short tigerine snout that held large sharp teeth and two large tusks at the ends of the mouth, giant jagged yellow horns that mimicked those on the helms of samurai which also covered long thin ears or the burning azure eyes.

Both front and back legs held four digit paws carrying razor sharp claws or what looked to be long yellow spikes on the forelegs, and the large reptilian tail that ended with a three pointed Spade spear. Balan and Lance watch the deer disappear into the beast's mouth, minced to pieces down its gullet and the feline smiled with blood tinted fangs.

Or that the draconic tiger let out a threatening roar right at the duo as bright blue fire burst from the edges of its mouth like a miasma. They barely had the chance to jump out of the way when the giant beast bounced at the two, sharp claws shredding through the dirt as if it were paper.

"This is a beast we'll have to fight or neither of us will come out alright!" Violence wasn't something Balan often indulged in but he knew there were times that he had no choice. Facing his hands forth, small spheres of yellow energy manifested on the maestro's fingertips before tossing them in the form of arrows.

With a wag of its tail, the draconic tiger brought forth burning blue will o' wisps and launched it back with a tail swipe. Both volleys of energy exploded into fireworks of their respective color, the armored beast leaping through the smoke with claws alight in blue fire.

Lance quickly dove under the beast while Balan flew over to the left side, the Dark Maestro flared out the tendrils on his back then slammed into the beast's unprotected belly alongside a vicious uppercut. The violet tiger felt the pain but took the opportunity to release a thin burst of glittering blue powder from its body before being launched into the air by Lance's attack.

Whatever the blue powder was irritated the raven haired male, the sensation being a mixture of itchy powder and bubbling hot grease. "Lance, look out!" Balan's shout made him look up at the airborne beast, the spade of its tail had opened into a trident as it swung the limb through the air.

The momentum being enough to correct the beast's position and trajectory so it could dive-bomb the Dark Maestro like a burning blue meteor. Neither of them expected for that particular powder to ignite upon contact as Balan watched his dark counterpart get flying by an azure explosion from his own body.

Creating a larger blast of yellow energy, the hat wearing man threw it at the violet tiger before heading over to his fallen ally. It let out a howl of annoyance upon the projectiles not only striking it's face but burst into a thick mustard smokescreen that made the feline gag.

Lance laid slanted by the tree he had hit, burn marks sprinkled over parts of his skin and clothing was singed too. "You okay, Lance?! This beast has more frightening power than just a ferocious stance!" Balan spoke, carefully helping his counterpart off the ground.

The movement made the elven male let out a mild hiss before shaking the greenette's hand off him. "As much as I like seeing you frown, this beast needs to be taken down. Balan, watch out for any powder from the skin of the hide, you'll lose more than just your pride."

Sharp claws of the draconic tiger swept away the hatted maestro's smokescreen. Bright blue fire burning burst the open jaws, the feline was absolutely pissed as even more azure fire spewed from the legs and tail or that the yellow ridges on the back and forelegs were now giant blades. It let out a furious roar forcing Balan and Lance to prepare for another attack.

That was until the entire world became silent, all of the instruments had oddly stopped playing. It was quiet until the sound of shamisen strings being plucked filled the still air with an orchestra of intimidating brass to follow in its wake. Sinister sounding melodies of violins and shinobue flutes were met with someone walking out from the brush.

It was Val'tah, a violet mask resembling the tiger donned on his face alongside dark violet coat with golden fur sleeves, dark violet hakama trousers decorated in elegant gold patterns reminiscent of fire and swords, two fake tails similar to the violet beast sewn on the back and without any shoes, only barefooted.

Balan and Lance stood speechless as the pinkette did something neither of them expected. The hunter had begun to dance in a style similar to those done by kabuki actors. His arms glided through the air, bits of glittering violet powder produced from the sleeves creating streaks in the air with an appearance mimicking purple misty fire.

Val'tah stomped his foot to the ground to spread out the mist like powder around him, the man spun into a short pirouette so he could stop in the Dragon Stance found in martial arts. It was like the hunter was manipulating magic to flow with his elegant and entrancing dance.

The sinister orchestra went perfectly with Val'tah's movements. Beating of hand drums, male chants with an ominous tone, shinobue flutes paired alongside the plucks of the shamisen and strung chords of the violin told a story on its own. A ritual performance of omens and cautionary tribulations.

Balan and Lance couldn't look away, neither could the beast who appeared to be calming down. The long yellow caparace blades lower themselves back into thin ridges, the trident tip of the tail collapses into its spade form and the eerie blue fire burning around the beast sputters out. Bright blue in its eyes dimming into a soft mellow teal.

Val'tah spun on the ball of his feet before transitioning into an aerial kick. The pinkette then used the momentum of the kick to position himself so he could bring down his arm in for a slash. He landed on the ground in a predatory stance, nails of his right hand dug into the soil, feet spread apart with knees bent for a crouch, left arm held out behind the man and the tiger mask facing the spectators.

The hunter then twirled himself into a backflip, all for the purpose of landing on his feet with his arms held and hands pressed together while the fingers were positioned to mimic fangs. Val'tah pulled his arms apart and let out a loud beastly roar with the final loud beats of the drum, the draconic tiger letting out its own roar in unison.

The pinkette took off his mask once the music returned to its more peaceful counterpart. "Glad I made it in time or Buena would've torn you to pieces. Luckily the Sonata of Omens can be played here or I would've been forced to do an acapella." Balan nearly choked upon the words Val'tah just said.

The giant hellish tiger that spews blue explosive fire was the hunter's friend?! Something Lance couldn't help but state the inquiry out loud. "You telling us the beast that nearly had us ravaged, is your companion that you ran off to scavenged?!"

Val'tah sheepishly scratched his head and let out a soft chuckle. The beast or Buena groomed their paws as if nothing happened. "She is a Magnamalo and they tend to be... tenacious predators. Buena is unique since she's friendlier than the regular 'malo, at least to me and any friend of mine."

Balan had a feeling there was more to this odd bond than just a story but… "At least your missing friend has been found, even if she treated us like a steak for a pound. Best to return back to the theatre, Lance got burnt bruises that need gauze by the meter." The top hatted Maestro then clapped his hands together as a giant door formed behind him.

It was big enough for the large Magnamalo to go through without any hindrance. Val'tah had a feeling there was going to be more magical convenience when it came to this odd theatre than just the taller duo living inside and a magical replica of the ritual clothing for the Sonata of Omens. Something to think about when he tries to figure out their situation.

And that's it! Yes this is a crossover between Balan Wonderworld and Monster Hunter but also my first Balan fic too! If you guys don't know, Balan Wonderworld is one of the games I've recently got and wholeheartedly. Sure it had problems but it was a delightful experience throughout my entire playthrough.

If you do decide to get the game, wait until it goes on sale. The full price isn't really suited considering the huge controversy involving it's development.

Our two star characters of this fic are an unlikely pair.

'The Hunter Who Wished To Dance' and owner of the mysterious 13th Door in Wonderworld: Val'tah Choso. A Monster Hunter who strived to become a performer but forsaken the goal partly for his ward, Buena.

Buena is a subspecies of Magnamalo called Will-O-Wisp Magnamalo. They expel blue fire often mistaken for spirit orbs and can engulf their body in an armor of azure fire for offensive defense. Only the Sonata of Omens, a mysterious ritualistic dance can calm a rampaging Magnamalo.

Possibilities from the Balan Wonderworld lore in the game, the novel, and the wiki description

Disclaimer: Ideas may or may not crossover between the game and such. Any resemblance to OCs, Self-Inserts, and AUs are purely coincidental. 

Case 1: Leo and Emma being led to Wonderworld

- Leo and Emma are pushed into adventures that would help them overcome their worries. Throughout the journey, they collect Hearts to send them back to the Inhabitants. This task helps Leo and Emma to know about and empathize with the Inhabitants below surface level. Now, they both believe that people can be friendly and would give them a chance to mingle together. 

-Leo and Emma are pushed into Wonderworld to save the trapped Inhabitants. Lance becomes lonely and starts trapping people in their utopias. That does not work completely as Emma escaped capture and Leo broke free. Time does not matter, and thus Balan urges Leo to action. Leo and Emma probably had more chances and safety nets to overcome their worries back home. Leo has admirers while Emma has her maids and friends that genuinely care about her. They have the strength and motivation to pull the Inhabitants out of the abyss of Negativity. 

Case 2: The Hearts in Wonderworld

-Leo and Emma are to collect Hearts and return them to their owners. In the game, the Hearts are inserted into Cages which unlocks the Boss Battles. I feel that opens their hearts and exposes them to the memory of their trauma. A pain not different from telling your repressed feelings to a listener. 

-I feel that beating the Boss might change reality a bit. Once the player frees an Inhabitant from Negativity, said Inhabitant becomes filled with motivation and Positivity in the material world. Balan may be using that extra Positivity to trigger events that would help them, i.e., the butterfly coming out of chrysalis in Chapter 3, Balan raising the wind to carry the plane in Chapter 4, time reversing on the clocktower in Chapter 6. 

-Lance might be venturing out of the Theater and scout for people in need of mental help and support. In the game, Lance gets dragged into Negativity and in his place, a Heart appears for the player to collect: 

a) Lance might have stolen the player’s heart to numb them from pain and suffering so Balan sent the Tim to bring them to the Theater. 

b) That was Lance’s Heart. (Based off SquigglyDigg’s video at about 10:35 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAVPZgWBHDQ). To me, Lance allowed this to happen to fix the player’s heart. I really wanted to save Lance, but I guess giving Balan love prolongs the current generation of Maestros before the cycle of creating a new Balan and the old Balan replacing Lance starts again. 

It is possible for people to lose their will to live or collapse and die from heartbreak. 

Case 3: Why are there Balan and Lance to begin with

-Balan and Lance are born from the imagination of people since time immemorial. 

The Tulpa effect. 

During hard times, people would imagine a “savior” that would make them happy, or an “enemy” that is responsible for all their pain and suffering. A face and identity to the abstract. Though ideas differ among people, there was enough consistency in them that eventually gave life to Wonderworld. A perfect world with perfect people. 

The first Lance probably was following the drive to hurt, while the first Balan the drive to help. The cycle of Positivity and Negativity begins with Balan falling into despair and having to create another Balan. It’s like training a younger and more bright-eyed and bushy-tailed heir after you grew exhausted from your career.

Each generation of Balan and Lance have their own personalities and aspirations. But they all must play their roles before the Visitors for as long as they can.

To me, both Positivity and Negativity are inevitable. Things will pass during times of peace. However, constant Negativity decays the psyche if there is not enough Positivity to withstand or overcome it, and it helps with the right support and security from the outside. You may have a personal corner to indulge yourself in hobbies and anything that brings you joy and comfort. 

If all you see is doom and gloom, remember:

i beat chapter 1 of fft! i had a much easier time of it this time around. if it wasn't for your encouragement i'd have given up on the game, so thanks again!

I'm so glad I could help!! FFT is such a beautiful game but I know how daunting it can seem on a first playthrough! Keep at it! I'd love to know your thoughts as you make your way through it

Balan Wonderworld Gameplay Walkthrough Part 5 - Chapter 9 & 10

Backstory of Balan Wonderworld: Chapter 8 - The good things haven't started yet, but there are problems.

But the locals are already starting to slowly trust Balan, whom they were not familiar with while Costumes and Balan were making the tower for tims. Some negatives start to stop working with Lance because of the costumes and even want to make friends. Lance wasn't happy about it, but he waited for the moment anyway, while Sicily was worried about her new friends. At one point, when Balan and costumes were relaxing with tims and Olivia, Balan decided to check on the inhabitants through the drop.

Balan: How's it going? (He noticed something) Wow.

Olivia: What's there?

Balan: I've never seen anything like it. There is a Cetacean Island island in chapter 4.

In the Chapter 4.

The costumes from Chapter 4 were hanging out on Cetacean Island itself, playing "Laughed and Lost."

Soaring Sheep: Look, there on the hill below, Skygazer and Seagazer are looking at the sky.

Costumes saw them as they sat and looked at the sky. Suddenly, they noticed how Seagazer was lost in thought, looking at her friend, and then looked at Cetacean Island.

Seagazer: Do you know? When I look at Cetacean Island, I think it reminds me of something.

Skygazer: About what?

Seagazer: About us. It's just that whales are usually in the water, like me. And it's flying, just like about you. But we're just watching, not doing anything.

Skygazer: Oh, it's so... cute. That's exactly what I wanted to say. But it's okay that we do the same thing, as long as we're happy.

The girl smiled back at him and... approached him to put her head on his shoulder. The boy in pilot glasses was surprised and blushed because he hugged her in response, which amazed not only the suits, but also Balan and Olivia.

Olivia: She crush in him.

Balan: And so did he. They just have a lot in common and that's why they have feelings. It's a pity that they didn't admit their feelings right away. I wonder how the others are?

He decided to look at the first Chapter and saw a Scarecrow talking to a Tornado Wolf while Bugsy and the costume kids were playing with Rari-Rar.

Balan:(Tears are falling from his eyes) Like a family. Like uncle and niece.

After looking through the drop at the fifth chapter, they found that the Weatcher of the Woods, who was with Sentinel of the City, was beginning to feel that she loved him. After looking at chapter 9, where Clocktower Kid and Retive Pierrot were on the Ferris wheel and looking at the world through the window, when suddenly there were fireworks, Kid was scared, but his friend calmed her down like a brother. In the tenth chapter, the costumes watched Madame saying goodbye to the Checkered King. However, they noticed that Madame's smile had dropped and realized that she had fallen in love with him. And finally, in the twelfth chapter, Lady talked to Custodian like a grandfather, who realized that she did not have such a person.

Balan: Do you know? I'm starting to find out that the Lady had a family tragedy. Since she didn't have a grandfather.

Olivia: Her family is dead. And when I look at the king's queen, it feels like he lost his wife before that.

Balan: There is no cup... It happened because of the loss in the game. But never mind, we will definitely heal their hearts.

Musical trio: Hi.

They were approached by Bad Metal Boy, Happy Horn and Amadeus holding paper with songs.

Balan: Oh, hello my friends! What's the news?

Happy Horn: We came up with three songs.

Bad Metal Boy: Song "Together", "Stronger" and "Hurray".

Amadeus: Would you like to hear it?

Balan: Well, we have 10 minutes before construction, I'll have time to listen to your songs.

After three songs, Balan and costumes continued building the tower. When they were done, they created a clock in the sky but only added Roman numerals and two clock hands. Suddenly, one small flying island with a tree was seen in the air. Balan decided to take a break there and watched tims on the big island. He was concerned that the island now looks very beautiful.

Balan: What a beauty.

In the world of negativity.

Looking at this, Lance realized that he looked strange, although he liked it, but it was suspicious.

Lance: Of course, I'm glad that you made friends with those fools, my negatives. But it's too much for me. Sicily, do you know what this is?

Sicily: Most likely... this is the power of positivity.

Lance: Everything is clear. But never mind, an unexpected surprise awaits them.

The next day.

Suddenly, on the day when this hour came. When Balan boarded the island, he saw suits, tims and Olivia in front of him.

Balan: Oh, hello my friends. We have a surprise?

Olivia: Yes. For Isle of Tims.

They showed him a large blue crystal, which made Balan so surprised.

Balan: Wow! And what is it made of?

Flame Blaster: It's just made of glass. We took the sand and warmed it up.

Ink Blaster: And we painted it blue.

Olivia: We decided that it would be a decoration for the watch.

Balan: This is good idea. But how do we raise it?

Tim: Tim!

They saw a big yellow tim with rabbit ears in front of them. They called him Father because he showed up when there were enough tims.

Balan: Wow! Now it will work.

He took the crystal and put it on his father. Later, the father flew up to the shooters and they put the crystal that he was hanging in the air.

In the world of negativity.

Lance and Sicily watched this while Balan and his father went down to the island.

Lance: I admit I'm proud of you. But not for long.

Sicily: Lance... (He looked her) Are you sure what's planned would be a good idea? Just why would they?

Lance: It's easy, I didn't tell you that the people who came before these people treated me badly. I fell in love with them and their negativity, which made me the same. Now my task is to capture wonderworld.

Suddenly they noticed that glitter was falling from the sky.

Sicily: This is poser of positive?

Lance: Not happening...

On the Isle of Tims.

Everyone was amazed by this phenomenon and realized that this is the power of positivity.

Dusk Butterfly: Is it really because we tried and improved?

Dawn Butterfly: And we helped the inhabitants.

Balan: And that means we're doing well. Let's all sing the Wonderworld anthem together!

Olivia: That's a great idea. We'll all form a circle.

They stood in a circle and began to sing the national anthem.

Song "Wonderworld"

[All]

Hello to the wonderworld

Say "Hello" to Balan's world

Come and celebrate with me

Our new world, our life...

(Suddenly, everything started to shine as they continued to sing)

Lance:(In shocked) What ta-?!

Hello to the wonderworld!

Suddenly, after the song, all the magic spread throughout wonderworld and surprisingly the boundaries from Lance disappeared. It also hit all the inhabitants, which pushed them. After that, Balan and his friends were surprised, and Lance was shocked.

Itsy-Bitsy Elf: Omg, it was magic.

Balan: It means the power has spread. (He noticed that he could go through the chapters when he touched one of them) And now I can go to the inhabitants.

All: Hurray!

In the Chapter 1.

Scarecrow lay as if unconscious while negativity gathered around him. Later, he sat down, opened his eyes, and looked around. Later he is... I looked at negativity in surprise.

Scarecrow: U-uh... I'm sorry... What happened just now? And that's why I'm sitting... not on your own world? (KosoKoso says this is his world) My? Why is everything so different here? (He stood up) Maybe Balan and Lance know? (He saw his house... Or is this not his house?) My house? And where is the barn where the grain should be stored? Am I dreaming or not?

He immediately ran out to the side where the passage to chapter 3 should be, and negativity followed him. Surprisingly, when he came to that place, there was a cliff to the void. He was in shock and didn't understand.

Scarecrow: Shouldn't my friend Bugsy's world be there, or-? Wait, that's not her name, and where did I get the name from? She definitely named me, but why when I'm a farmer?

In the world of negativity.

Lance was shocked that the inhabitants began to realize that they were not inhabitants and so on.

Lance:(Angry) Argh... I kill him (He flew away)!

Sicily: No!

On the Isle of Tims.

Olivia and costumes talked to each other about this happening while Balan was exploring the worlds.

Air Double Problem: What if the inhabitants remembered something?

Double Problem: So this is a sign that we have succeeded, brother.

Air Cat: What about Lance? He's still angry.

Tornado Wolf: We will definitely make it the same as before.

Balan: Guys! (Everyone saw him and he landed) I have just discovered that all the inhabitants are becoming aware. But I almost found out what they remembered from the past.

Fox Box: So it worked.

Iron Apollon: It's almost a victory.

All: Hurray!

Lance: I think whose idea it was.

Everyone was scared to see him in the open air.

Balan: It's an accident. But now that they start remembering, we'll make you the same.

Lance: So what? Will you make me plant flowers?

Balan: No, by the power of positivity and friendship! You shouldn't count on that for yourself, even if you did something for the inhabitants.

Dynamic Dolphin: But the inhabitants are going crazy.

Tornado Wolf: We need to hurry to them.

Costumes representatives immediately ran to their inhabitants.

Balan: But without such actions, what happened in reality cannot be lived in any way, this is their place! And turning them into monsters is too much!

Lance: Yes? * Laughs* Then try it (He is ready to launch his core into the Balan)!

Sicily: Wait!

Lance: Sicily? What are you doing? Get away from them!

Sicily: I betrayed you and deceived you! Because I don't understand your goal, when wonderworld keeps a balance, when there are problems but there is no evil, you decided to turn innocent inhabitants into monsters!

Lance: That's what I decided!

Sicily: But do you know why you created Balan? Do you know why you let them in?

Lance: Because people treated me like an idiot and I created a Balance to restore the balance!!!

Everyone was shocked that he said that, and Balan was confused.

Balan: So you used me... and forbade you to communicate with people so as not to become like you? I thought we were going to be brothers.

Lance: You're like a child who thinks for the sake of happiness.

Balan: But-

Lance: Enough!

He shot at it, but everyone dodged the ball.

Balan: I don't want to kill you... I just need to fix you!

The brothers started fighting while everyone was watching in horror.

Cutier Girl: We need to help them out.

Frosty Lynx: But how? It can be dangerous.

Mr. Ghost: There is no other way out.

He flew up behind Lance and grabbed his tentacles.

Lance: What are you doing!?

Balan: Mr. Ghost!

Mr. Ghost: Faster!

The old suits immediately grab Lance while he was trying to get out.

Weed: Lance, calm down!

Koala Acrobat: You need to relax and forgive everyone!

Lance: No way!!!

Balan: Lance, even though we fought, it's better than turning someone into a monster.

Lance: You are...!!!

Suddenly, he threw the suits and attacked Balan, who dodged. He tried to shoot, but Sicily wouldn't let him, so he threw her out.

Olivia:(Worried) Sicily!

Lance was still furious when he saw her helping the negativity rise.

Lance: Everything is clear... Both of you will disappear!

Balan: No!

He stood in front of the two girls and protected them from the core with a shield. The old suits fit Olivia and Sicily while the fighting men were preparing for the attack. He realized that he couldn't handle them.

Lance: You're not giving me a choice, are you?

All except Lance: Yes.

Lance:... You regretted it yourself...

He snapped his fingers and his tentacles attacked them. Balan immediately took off and shoots them. Later, Sicily decided to take one of the tentacles and used them to jump on Lance, who grabbed her.

Olivia: Sicily!

He immediately took off right at Lance, but...

Lance: The trap.

He threw his former friend at the alicorn and the two fall down.

Old costumes: Olivia!

Balan noticed and decided to save them. But Lance prevented her and Balan decided to teleport them to a safe place, but accidentally gave neto a direction and Olivia, Sicily and the old costumes went through the portal to reality. Later, the two maestros fell and the tentacles immediately disappeared. Lance took off while the costumes worriedly approached the maestro of positivity, and Lance saw a drop and discovered that 12 of them were in the chapters.

Lance: You idiots (He snapped his fingers).

In the Chapter 1.

Tornado Wolf was looking for a Scarecrow that was far away from him.

Tornado Wolf: Scarecrow!

Scarecrow: Tornado Wolf! I'm glad you're here!

But it's too late... When a tentacle touches his back and he screams, he turns into a Negabosse.

Tornado Wolf: Scarecrow!

A hurricane has formed, and the negatives are now behaving like enemies and pouncing on him. He tried to fight, but because of the hurricane he was thrown out of the chapter as with the rest of the costumes representatives.

Pumpkin Puncher: Guys!

Air Unicorn: What happened?

Air Cat: They are now... They have become monsters almost like us and their problems.

Invisible Man: What happened to Balan?

They approached him, while Lance was watching from a height, he just went back into the world of negativity. Fortunately, Balan is alive and he got up, opening his eyes.

Balan: Are you guys alive?

Tornado Wolf: Yes, but we didn't have time to save the inhabitants.

Ink Blaster: They're innocent monsters now.

Water Blaster: We are very sorry that this happened.

Balan:(Got up) This not your fault. Just... ARGH!

Costumes: Ah?

Balan: I was thinking too much about how everything was fine, he just betrayed me. And... and... And Olivia, Sicily, and the old costumes are nowhere to be found.

When he took off his top hat, his skin was now white and his hair had changed.

Hardy Hammer: Balan, we always trusted you because you thought about how to help them with their problems.

Jumping Jack: It wasn't Lance's fault. He rightly loves people, but he became negative because of their fault, but not because of our inhabitants.

JellyJolt: We still have a chance to save the inhabitants, wonderworld and Lance.

Tornado Wolf: Yes, it doesn't matter how negative or positive you are, it's important to be...

Costumes: Balance.

Tims also supports Balan, which makes him realize this.

Balan: You were all right. Even if something didn't work out, you'll have to do it again, but wisely and cunningly to save them all, including Lance.

Happy Blaster: And you have a very pretty face.

Balan: From me?

Frost Fairy took out a mirror and Balan was surprised to find out that it was his true face.

Balan: I have a true face. So Lance has the true form, too.

Blob Blower: But how do we save them?

Jolt Tiger: Maybe you can use us to win.

Aero Acrobat: They are just in our chapters.

Balan looked at the chapters through the drop and found that there were no Negabosses.

Balan: They are not there, but they are clearly hidden in other places. And there are trees there, and now they're already looking for negatives.

Lucky Egg: What kind of trees are these?

Balan: There are two of them on each chapter, one with a heart and the other... the entrance to the Negabosses stage.

Pounding Robots: So we have a chance to save everyone?

Balan: Perhaps, because we don't know how to destroy trees. (Looked at Tims) Do you think you can? (Tims nods) Okay, we can do it.

Frost Fairy: But you didn't take into account that they might let you in to the inhabitants, did you?

Balan: Right, I hadn't thought of that.

Samuel is a minor character of Balan Wonderworld who appears in Chapter 11.

Appearance

Samuel is a young boy with fair skin, brown hair, and brown eyes. He wears a white bishop-sleeved shirt underneath a white short-sleeved shirt, white capris pants, green socks, and blue shoes. His clothes are covered in soot.

Personality

Not much is known about Samuel's personality. Due to the cutscene showing him screaming from help, it's safe to say that he gets scared easily. However, he was seen thanking Eis for saving him, suggesting a polite side to him.

Role

Samuel first appears in Chapter 11 being held by Eis after the latter envisions himself being a hero. He then is seen crying help after being trapped in a burning building. Finally, after Eis gathers the courage to save him, he is seen receiving a head rub from Eis while thanking him.

After this, he is never seen again.

Trivia

It is unknown how the building caught ablaze and what happened to his parents.

It's possible that Samuel is now close friends with Eis.

Some Tips/Tricks for Playing Balan Wonderworld

I know I’ve been posting a lot about this game, but honestly, it’s quickly become a guilty pleasure game for me at this point. 

Just yesterday I was able to not only beat Lance, but I managed to complete all of the secret Act 3s, collect all 72 rainbow statues, and now have all 81 costumes (including the Demo Launcher, albeit that one doesn’t count towards the “Full Wardrobe” achievement.) So, as a result, I thought I’d post some tips and tricks for playing through the game just in case anyone ever wants to play it. I’ll also (hopefully) turn the tips and tricks into a YouTube video later so more people can find it. 

Once again, since this is a long post and there are spoilers for the final boss, the tips will be under the “Keep Reading” bit. If you’re still here, here are six tips/tricks to help you out when playing Balan Wonderworld!!

Tip #1: Don’t worry about trying to find all of the hidden collectibles on your first run. This one is a no-brainer, but it can dishearten you if you’re trying to figure out where all of the collectibles are and you realize that you don’t have the right costume to get it. For me, the statues that made me sad were the ones trapped in Fixer-upper and Triple Jumper/Balan costume areas. The one in the picture requires either a jumping character like Triple Jumper or Balan. or you can use Gear Prince/Gear King later on. 

Tip #2: Stockpile as many of the costumes as you can. Except for the Demo Launcher, all of the costumes are not unlimited. The Demo Launcher has an infinite amount that you can just pull from the wardrobe when/if you unlock it, but everything else is pretty finite. One costume specifically is going to be mentioned later in its own tip, but all of the other costumes can be stockpiled. I don’t know if there’s a limit to how many of each costume you can have - I think my highest pile was 17 Frost Fairy costumes at one point - but stockpile them so you don’t find yourself without one of the necessary costumes when you’re trying to go back for collectibles. I recommend using Key Mouse when you get them in Chapter 11 to help - it unlocks costumes without the costume keys, so Key Mouse is great to quickly stockpile costumes with.

Tip #3: Get the Balan costume as soon as possible. Later in the game if you have more than 15 Tims, it gets really easy to lose the three-badge Tims you need to get a King Tim, and that King Tim is necessary to unlock the Balan Costume. What I ended up doing on my second playthrough was I stopped collecting/hatching eggs at about 10 Tims, collected a bunch of drops, then mass fed my Tims. Easiest way to get the King Tim is to save before you start breeding two three-badge Tims, then if you don’t get the King Tim, soft-reset the game and try again. I got the King in... I want to say twelve or thirteen tries. It takes a while, but believe me, the Balan costume is worth it.

Tip #3.5: Once you have the Balan costume, save often and stockpile raindrops. It is ridiculously easy to lose the Balan costume in later chapters, so you’d best get a small collection of raindrops just in case you lose the costume and you get to a point where it saves your game before you can reset. The Balan costume is extremely useful later on since it can pretty much bypass every single level to get you to the end, and it also helps with collecting statues. He can jump ten times and fly around, so use him wisely.

You only get one Balan costume at a time, though, so you either should save before entering any levels or, if you lose the costume and the game resets, stockpile raindrops and feed them to the Ultima Tim. It gets pretty greedy later on in the game - the last time I lost the costume, it cost me 20 raindrops - so it’s just a better choice to save before each level. (Thank you to the people who told me to soft-reset the game if I lost Balan. 😄) There’s actually a cheat I found out about where, in Chapter 6 Act 2, if you activate the Father Tim statue, go back to the checkpoint, then head back to the statue, raindrops keep spawning in. You can use the Air Cat for it, too, so you won’t have to worry about losing any of your best costumes when the Air Cat costume box is just one room away.

Tip #4: If you don’t want to trigger Hard Mode, don’t rush taking down the Negati. I learned this the hard way during Chapter 5 when I took down a bunch of Negati earlier in Act 1 then got blindsighted by four red Hirahira (the floating Negati that shoot out bursts of wind). Twice. Easiest way to save yourself from triggering Hard Mode is, if you see the Negati are dropping the big 10x drops, stop attacking for a bit and run around.

Tip #5: Bring long-range attackers to the Lance fight. I ended up bringing Pumpkin Puncher, Guardian Bird, and Jellyjolt into the final boss fight, and they definitely help out with Phase One of Lance’s fight. Use Jellyjolt when Lance does his duplication attack (the electrical field helps with making sure you don’t get hit), then use Guardian Bird and/or Pumpkin Puncher when he does the Negati swarm attack. If you lose the long-range attackers, wait for Lance to use his duplication attacks again - the Negati swarm attack summons up a tentacle that you really want to avoid due to its range.

Tip #6: Tornado Wolf, Dynamic Dolphin, Aero Acrobat, and Frost Fairy are your best friends in phase two of Lance’s fight. During the final fight, Lance turns into a massive draconic Negati (y’know, as you do) and has four floating eyes around him. You only need to take down three, then wait for him to wear himself out and faceplant into the battle arena to finally beat him. (I’m not joking.)

Lance’s pre-phase two battle is mostly just to wear you down. He sends out massive shockwaves that you can jump over, then he hits you with a laser attack that you can’t dodge and that will one-hit KO you. Don’t worry, though - that’s part of the game. Afterwards, you’re given a cutscene where Balan reveals he brought all of your friends to help you in the fight, and your friends grant you their signature costumes to aid you.

Lance has four different attacks that he can do, and each comes with three of the twelve signature costumes:

Attack One - Aero Acrobat (Haoyu from Chapter 4), Air Cat (Cass from Chapter 6), and Dusk Butterfly (Yuri from Chapter 3) are your costumes. Lance will slam his fists into the ground and send shockwaves after you. You can either use Air Cat or Dusk Butterfly to get past them, then use Aero Acrobat to jump up and target one of the eyes. (It backfired on me the second time I had to do the fight, but Dusk Butterfly came in clutch and took out an eye, so I was happy.)

Attack Two - Water Blaster (Eis from Chapter 11), Quad Cannon (Cal from Chapter 7), and Invisible Man (Bruce from Chapter 12) are your costumes. Lance will attack you with projectiles that you have to dodge, then he’ll send two masked projectiles after you. I have no idea if you can hit those two projectiles and attack him with them, so I usually just ended up running around dodging that attack until I got to the next attack. Quad Cannon is really the only useful one in this fight, but even then, its ability requires you to stay still and the eyes don’t exactly get close enough for his attack to connect, so your best bet would be just run around and wait for the next attack.

Attack Three - Inky Painter (Lucy from Chapter 10), Dynamic Dolphin (Fiona from Chapter 2), and Frost Fairy (Iben from Chapter 8) are your costumes. Like back in Chapter 2′s boss fight with Anjellica, Lance will send pillars of water down to crush you at the same time that the arena starts breaking. You can use Dynamic Dolphin to swim to him and land a hit on one of the eyes. Afterwards, he’ll use an actual dangerous laser attack and wipe out massive parts of the battlefield. Try to dodge it to the best of your ability and sacrifice Inky Blaster if you need to (Frost Fairy is recommended for the final eye.)

Attack Four - Tornado Wolf (Jose from Chapter 1), Guardian Bird (Sana from Chapter 5), and Happy Blaster (Attilio from Chapter 9) are your costumes. Lance will send tornados after you like Barktholomew and Cuckoo did in Chapters 1 and 5, respectively. Use either Guardian Bird or Tornado Wolf to volley the tornados back at Lance three times, and you’ll take out one of the eyes.

One you’ve hit him three times (I believe - I only managed to take down three eyes in my playthrough, last I remember) - Lance will eventually get worn down and, like I said earlier, faceplant into the stage. You can use Frost Fairy to climb to his head or parkour up there with a jumping character from the other attacks, then attack the eye on his head to finally take Lance down.

Balan Wonderworld Review - Favorite Costumes Part 1

I have officially beat the game with every single Gold Balan Statue in every level, got the Balan Costume, got all the main game costumes and the latest section of the Tower of Tims that I need to unlock being the sixth section.

I had quite a ball playing the game despite Square Enix being backstabbers to Balan Company and the game. Now, this huge ass review will split into different categories and will have their own page. These categories are:

Boss and Boss Music

Now, these picks will be my personal opinion. I'm starting with costumes because it's probably the hardest out of these to choose from since every costume has incredible designs to them.

There will be two picks for each Chapter: a Common Costume and a Rare Costume.

Common Costumes are those you can easily find in each act. If you can find them in multiple spots in one act or they can seen im both acts then they count as common.

Rare Costumes are ones you have to go the extra length to find. Some are hidden while others require certain costumes to get.

The Balan Costume isn't being counted for obvious reasons. It is the only costume found on the Isle of Tims and it's requirements are staggering.

How To Get Balan Costume

First you need to feed the Tim Statue on the isle a certain amount of Rainbow Drops. Once it's full, you need to get a white Crowned Tim. This very Tim can be acquired by getting Tims with three badges.

A Tim can get a badge for consuming the equivalent of 30 Tim Drops(3 large drops) in either blue, pink or red colors. You need at least 2 Tims with all 3 badges and then breed them together. It is trial and error so I suggest getting multiple Tims with badges but also exit the game if ya fail to get a white Crowned Tim.

Once you have the Tim, do a level and it should be the proper size to pick up. Throw it at the statue and it will become the Father Tim. That big Tim will fly you up to the costume so you can get. If ya lose the costume, then give the Father Tim more Rainbow Drops. Rainbow Drops can be given by redoing stages, bosses or Tim Statues scattered about the levels.

Now let's get started.

Chapter 1

Common Costume: Tornado Wolf

An obvious choice for me. Wolves are one of my favorite animals and werewolves being one of my favorite mythological creatures. Tornado Wolf can be found in Act 1 and in the Boss Level. A simple jump engulfs the player in a mini tornado that can reflect wind projectiles and break blocks.

Powerful, agile and cute plus Tornado Wolf just gives me Werehog nostalgia since I'm a Sonic Unleashed fan.

Rare Costume: Jumping Jack

You can't just give me an adorable kangaroo and one of the better costumes when it's comes to movement. Jumping Jack can only be found in Act 1 so it's actually rare. This costume allows the player to do a flutter jump, great for getting extra air, reaching slightly far platforms and a decent recovery.

It's a costume I suggest stocking up on since you can't get the better mobility options until Chapter 6 Act 2. Also love there's a plushie in the pouch and the white patches of fur. Kangaroo are marsupials who do carry young in their pouches, and the silver tufts just add extra charm to the design.

Chapter 2

Common Costume: Jelly Jolt

Very useful! The Jelly Jolt is the perfect costume when it comes to electric resistance and make enemies stay five feet away while you shock them to hell. Can be found in Act 1 and the Boss Act. First time seeing an adorable jellyfish that actually doesn't mean harm.

Jellicent, Frillish, and Healslimes don't count considering the former have a habit of wrecking ships and the latter is a pain in the ass in boss fights or tough opponents. Also, all of these attack you! Case in point.

Rare Costume: Double Jumper

Definite pick for many reasons. This costume can only be found in Act 2 and requires the Fixer Upper Costume in Chapter 12 or the Frost Fairy Costume in Chapter 8(harder difficulty for reaching it).

It allows you to double jump, a godsend when it comes to reaching Balan Statues, costumes, recovery and careful platforming. You can get some major air with this costume and makes backtracking for certain levels easier.

I love the demonic imp design too. Imps are agile and mischievous creatures after all. Just like the basis, this costume is difficult to grab like the imp.

Chapter 3

Common Costume: Sickle Slicer

Slickle Slicer are one of your first go-to for fighting spiked enemies. This costume can be found in Act 2 and the Boss Act, it allows you to throw sickles that act like a boomerang. If you do a combo, these sickles can go farther than their already decent range.

The design is a very nice touch since the praying mantis can be considered a high level predator amongst insects. The costume is quite agile which helps in a pinch against fast opponents.

Rare Costume Itsy Bitsy Elf

A mini chinchilla perfect for tiny doors. Costume can only be found in Act 2 and takes some careful platforming to get. Suggest using the Jumping Jack costume if you don't want to wait for the better option in Chapter 6. This costume lets you enter tiny doors that often hold Balan Statues or Balan Bout inside. Very adorable, very fast (probably second fastest in the main story) and super fun.

Chapter 4

Common Costume: Aero Acrobat

Holy Balloon Popping Batman! This costume can be found in Act 1, Act 2 and the Boss Act. It allows you to pop balloons and even jump kick enemies caught in the crosshair. Balloons are scattered about in various levels and this guy is a great option of transport to reach these specific areas.

The aviator outfit makes it even better and I love bats. Probably my favorite flying mammal of the bunch since I often have a bat ally in games like Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, a Crobat for hunting escape happy Legendaries in Pokemon and Hidabat in Yokai Watch.

Rare Costume: Happy Horn

My first performing costume. It can be found in Act 2 and performs on special stage platforms scattered throughout chapters. A good way to gain some extra drops and hear a different version of stage clear. Not only is the costume charming, this is the first time I actually like listening to a marching band.

Chapter 5

Common Costume: Guardian Bird

The first costume to find in Act 1, can also be found in Act 2 and the Boss Act. The Guardian Bird costume lets you throw a mini whirlwind in midair. A nice costume to have for hitting far off opponents and counter wind projectiles.

I love the purple and yellow of the feathers and that orange mimics the bandana and ponytail of the costume's human equivalent. This costume is quite quick and good for dodging, the ability can act as a last second recovery should the need arrives.

Rare Costume: Sickle Slayer

A much stronger version of the Sickle Slicer that can be found in Act 2. One of the early options for breaking iron blocks or fighting iron coated opponents. The extra bulk does slow down the player but the payoff is worth it.

The larger size, serrated sickles and the color palette proves that this is a costume you rightfully earned. A sign that you can handle the much stronger costumes that can be found in the game. The general amongst the Sickle race.

Chapter 6

Common Costume: Pumpkin Puncher

The Fruity Boxer! A costume found in Act 1, 2 and the Boss! This costume lets you punch opponents from afar with straight Rayman equivalent punches. Doing a combo even extends the range. A faster hitter than the Sickle Costumes but also great at getting tons of Drops from Negati. If you take out tons of Negati in a single costume without changing or getting hit, the number of Drops they give increases.

I love the design since it's practically a scarecrow boxer. The outfit is cute, has a sort of fanciness you can only find in medieval periods in wealthy districts.

Rare Costume- Air Cat

The princess of platforming. This costume can only be found in Act 2 and allows the player to walk on air for a short amount of time. A perfect option for reaching far off areas, recovery and even avoiding ground hazards.

I've used this costume A LOT for most of my playthrough of the game. Even go back to Chapter 6 just to restock if I run out. This costume is that good. Very adorable too, just has this Artistocats nostalgia to it as well. Also I am a cat lover, literally got 5 cats at home and all are rescues as well.

I bought and played the game a few days after release (can't say "no" to that grin).

I was (still) amazed by the levels in the chapters.

I had thoughts of strangling the game while playing (Chapter 10 onwards) before I unlocked the Balan costume.

I was horrified when Lance got purified, only to be trapped in Negativity again (and hatless Balan for the first time).

I had my fun in the game despite being nauseous when playing 3D games.

I only wish that Balan Wonderworld gets picked up and worked on in the future. Same for the NiGHTS series.

I will be watching...waiting...even for another ten years......
