Is there a TTRPG that allows for the “Youths Having Fun Being Fantastic” “genre” of works like Persona 5 and Codename: Kids Next Door combined with the aesthetic of Digimon: Cyber Sleuth and early Bakugan? I’m sorry if I sent this one before, I forgor :(

THEME: Fun, Fantastic Youths.

Hello there, so I had to do a little bit of research to see what kind of tied these pieces of media together. What I looked for was games about kids with something special about them, a lighthearted tone, and an anime art style. I tried to focus on games that were set in the modern day, but not everything in this list matches that qualification.

Shepherds, by AirkSeablade.

Shepherds is a tabletop RPG about young members of a League of professional do-gooders, who strive to protect the peace and safety of ordinary people.  These young Shepherds will forge bonds of trust with each other, grow and mature as people, and possibly foil some evil plots along the way.

Shepherds puts us into a fantasy history where technology is starting to change the world around you. Your characters are young members of a special organization, with special training or abilities to help them protect the people around them. The author describes the genre as “hopeful fantasy”, inspired by the “Tales of _” video games and the Trails/Kiseki video game line.

System-wise, the game is Powered by the Apocalypse, which means that you only need 2d6 to play, and your characters will draw from a series of Moves in order to find out what happens next, with various categories for action scenes, relationship-building, moving through various in-game processes, and using magic.

The Magical Land of Yeld, by Yeldstuff.

Somewhere there is a door to a magical land. A land of secrets and treasure. Of exploration and adventure. Where children can become heroes, discover their inner strength and stand against monsters and magic. And once you enter, the only thing you have to fear is that you can never go home!

The Magical Land of Yeld is a multi-session tabletop roleplaying game focusing on adventure, hero building and shared storytelling. Like the classic console games we love, adventures in Yeld are designed to allow you to explore colorful and strange lands, seek out secret dungeons and temples and challenge powerful boss monsters as your characters grow to unlock new skills and discover more powerful weapons and treasure.

The main features of The Magical Land of Yeld that I think connect to your request is the fact that you are playing children, and that your children have magical abilities. However, the setting is decidedly fantastic, rather than taking place in the modern day - although if you like the secret worlds of Persona, you might find the isekai themes in this game to be adjacent to what you’re looking for. Similar to Kids Next Door, there’s always a threat of no longer being a child - although instead of turning into an adult, you’re in danger of turning into a monster. If you want a game with cartoon-ish threats but high stakes, you might like The Magical Land of Yeld.

Oddity High, by Derek Ehlmann.

You're a high school student that's probably nowhere close to being ordinary. Whether you’re dealing with aliens, psychics, ghosts, demons, eldritch gods or sentient cats is up to you - but whatever it is, you’re in the thick of it. Fortunately, by happenstance or by design, you’ve got a gang of like-minded, equally-abnormal friends at your side - and with their help, you’ve got a fighting chance at surviving it. Just don’t forget that you’re also going to need to survive high school, as well.

Oddity High is powered by the Apocalypse Engine, the system used by legendary and award-winning games such as Dungeon World, Monster of the Week, The Sprawl, Urban Shadows, Fellowship, and many, many more.

The Persona games are one of the many inspirations behind this game, about teenagers with abnormal powers. You combine your high-school type playbook with another, stranger playbook called your Other-Life playbook. Many of these playbooks are nods to various tropes in anime, such as masked superheroes, kids with the ability to re-write reality, or someone in control of another entity that is vastly more powerful than any human being.

Judging by the references for this game, Oddity High might lean a little more to the serious side than the goofy side, but if you want really larger-than-life anime hi-jinx, you might want to check out this game.

Clash! Shounen Battle Roleplay, by Sabrina Hawthorne.

CLASH! Shonen Battle Roleplay is a Tabletop Roleplaying Game about dramatic fights and the dramatic emotions those fights represent. It’s a game inspired by classic anime & manga like One Piece, Bleach and Naruto. Play as big, bombastic characters with all sorts of cool powers, facing off against pirates, monsters, and other powerful people just like you.

Shounen manga feels very fitting for games and media like Bakugan, Digimon, and Persona 5, which is why CLASH might have something of what you’re looking for. Your characters will all have cool powers and you’ll be constantly jumping into fight scenes, sinking your emotions and beliefs into the conflict. This is a game meant to be colourful and bold, with an emphasis on teamwork and being heroic.

Right now the game is in play-test, so there isn’t really any art to accompany the game. However, the game is pay-what-you-want while it’s in play-test, so you can check it out for free to see if the themes of the game resonate with what you’re looking for.

Cosmic Ray Kids, by Hedgemaze Press.

Cosmic Ray Kids is a single-page (front and back) atomic-age adventure roleplaying game for all ages. Play as superpowered youngsters who fight the forces of evil with heroics and heart! If you like The Powerpuff Girls, Fantastic Four, or Teen Titans Go!, you’ll love Cosmic Ray Kids!

Cosmic Ray Kids emulates the goofy, over-the-top mood of Saturday morning cartoons, with simple rules and a push-your-luck system that always has you trying to balance how much you want to risk. This is a great game for villains as goofy and gonzo as Father or The Delightful Kids From Down The Lane from Kids Next Door. It’s not necessarily styled in the same way as Persona 5 or Bakugan as - written, but I think it’s a light enough game that you could create your own setting that matches closer to what you’re looking for.

First Rule About The Hidden Village

Hound was having a very difficult time keeping his mouth shut right now…

A lot has happened in the past couple of days. He was brought back online after more than 100 years in emergency stasis. His first sight upon being brought back online was a friendly face in Hot Shot and…

The Decepticon Dead-End?!

That was one Hell of a Wake-Up call that's for sure!

Hound almost gave Dead-End one Hell of a shiner if his body hadn't rusted over from exposure from the elements.

After Hound's failed attempt at punching Dead-End he then noticed Landmine and Roller For-um..Speedway. At His sides telling him that everything was ok and not too thrash around so much. It was at this point Hound felt he was seriously hallucinating.

It took a bit but after getting his Energon levels back up too normal they Ground Bridged him back too the Hidden Village. While all that was happening Hot Shot and Landmine explained what exactly was going on. How they along with many other Autobots, Decepticons, and Civillians had left the War and Cybertron behind too start anew on a distant Planet. Along with how they found him in emergency stasis in a old Train Yard, how they reactivated him, and that they were taking Hound too the Hidden Village too get properly fixed.

When Hound first laid optics on the Hidden Village it was nothing short of amazing for Hound. It had been Eons since he last saw Cybertronians actually living peaceful lives without fear of War.

Also the giant Dragon starring down at him…

WAIT WHA-

Ya it was a lot for Hound too process.

It took a whole day of repairs too get Hound back too proper function but soon he was walking, running, transforming like nothing ever happened. Once he was cleared from the Medical Bay Hot Shot was waiting for him with a Human by his side and that same Dragon he saw starring at him when entered the Village. That is when Hound was given the second half of the explanation. How this Village wasn't just made up of Cybertronians, no it was also made up of another species called Bakugan.

The explanation about Bakugan, who they are and where they came from, was given too Hound by the small Human with Hot Shot and the now named Leonidas, Vice. Out of everything Hound could have guessed, a human from another world helping guide and protect the Bakugan which are from also from another world too a new world where they could find peace and make there own Village crossing paths with the Cybertronian Hidden Village and deciding too build new lives together, was definitely not one of them.

After that explanation and a couple others Hound was offered a place at the Hidden Village if he wished too stay. A very kind and generous offer but it was unfortunately one Hound had too refuse for now anyway.

The Autobots were still out there fighting, putting there very Sparks on line everyday. And when he learned that Optimus was hear on Earth with a few others fighting against the Decepticons. Hound had too go find them. He made a oath too be there for his fellow Autobots and he still believed in Optimus. Hound had too see this through with them.

Everyone in the Village understood completely and wished Hound good luck and safe travels. If someone was going too stay at the Village it was there choice too make and understood that some Bots just had too see this war through or had bots they wish too protect still out there fighting.

They gave Hound a Energon canister for the road and only asked that they keep the Village a secret unless absolutely necessary.

After that Hound set up a Autobot Beacon and after so long he met Optimus again.

Of course when Hound got back they asked what had happened too him. They had lost his signal during the war and feared he had returned too the Well Of AllSparks.

Hound had told them that he had crashed on Earth in the 1910's as he was following some Decepticons.

Which did happen

What didn't happen was that Hound had salvaged his stasis pod from his ship, hid it in a very secluded spot and used it when his Energon levels got low. He used his last Energon reserve and went into stasis. Hound was later snapped out of his stasis when a small tremor interrupted his stasis. He wandered around for a bit before deciding it was safe too send out a Autobot Distress Signal.

A very convincing story which everyone believed thankfully. But still Hound loathed lying, it just wasn't in his nature but than Hound reminded himself it wasn't for his sake, it was for the sake of the Hidden Village.

And if the time came when Hound needed too tell everyone about the Hidden Village than he would tell them

Epilogue

Optimus stood in front of the Terminal tapping away at the console. Running signal checks for Decepticon activity or Autobot Distress Signals, among other things like making sure all the systems were up and functioning or the unexpected late night call from Agent Fowler.

Though Optimus's mind was busy thinking about something else that happened today. That was Hound's return too the Autobots

Optimus could tell something was up with Hound. He noticed that Hound was much more fidgety during the second half of his story and strangely enough the Matrix gave a pulse of energy in his chest a bit at seeing Hound. Not only that when Hound got too the second half of his story the Matrix burned a bit in his chest.

Liar He is lying!

It was strange…so strange in fact that Optimus decided too go off instinct and stare directly at Hound. The Stare down at Hound didn't go on for long, only around 10 seconds at most. At that the Matrix seemed too calm down in a sense and a feeling of confusion seemed too settle in upon it.

Optimus had a suspicion that Hound was not being entirely truthful with them but was not trying too deceive them too hurt them.

Optimus led out a little hum as he tapped the commands into the console.

For now at least he will keep this too himself and have Hound accompany him on missions just so he is near Hound until what ever is going on is cleared up.

Hound is trying so bad not to say anything about the village. It sucks to have his friends in the dark but he really doesn't want to drag innocent civilians into the conflict. Optimus being suspicious adds some pressure.

Hound couldn't lie that he was sorta relieved about Miko and Bulkhead finding the village. The poor bot didn't know if he could last any longer.

I miss being a little girl and putting my feet on top of my dad’s so he can walk while I hugged him. I miss that joy. I miss climbing on the rocks in Central Park and feeding the horses carrots. I miss the tulips in my neighbor’s yard and the caterpillars on the tomato plants and the pansies planted around the bird bath. I miss the sunflowers taller than me. I miss the intricate wrought iron railing with filigree. I miss the wooden chest with fish shaped brass handles that flipped up and down. I miss my giant, empty, carpeted room and scratchy blue heated blanket. I miss the sound of the motor humming and clicking from my favorite nightlight. I miss playing in the park next to the elementary school across from my house. I miss the frost on the steel bars that stung my skin. I miss the cold tile in the kitchen and the broken clock above the dining room table. I miss the corded phone that was always tangled and the screen door that never closed just right. I miss footy pajamas and sliding down the carpeted stairs on my butt and crashing into the coat closet at the bottom. I miss the scary basement. I miss watching the sun set over the Brooklyn bridge. I miss Fergus scratching up my legs when I’d get home. I miss sitting in the back of an airport terminal tram while the sun rises. I miss the bumps of a plane landing and the ding before a pilot’s announcement. I miss yawning to pop my ears during take off and that momentary feeling of falling when the plane wheels leave the runway. I miss the silent dark car rides home with only the glow of the buttons to light up the car’s interior. I miss the strange carpet in the Tampa International baggage claim with its rows and rows of empty carousels. I miss those little curled leaves that crunch when you step on them. I miss the feeling of my baby brother’s hand gripping my fingers. I miss how he always laughed hysterically every time I smiled at him. I miss building train tracks for him after school. I miss watching his favorite shows with him and his hugs when we’d pick him up from preschool. I miss mixing and heating up his baby bottles and cleaning his binkys. I miss his mouth breathing when he passed out in his car seat. I miss scrubbing the spaghetti stains off his high chair. I miss playing on the roots on the trees in Medard Park and running across the boardwalk to hear my feet thunk against the wood. I miss hiding my DS under my pillow so I could play Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. I miss playing with my bakugan and pretending they were empires at war. I miss sleeping in my closet just because I could. I miss the dark parking garages and dull beige walls at USF. I miss sitting with my mom in the campus library. I miss going to Busch Gardens every weekend and riding the sky ride over the habitats. I miss taking the train through the safari area and being lulled to sleep by the clacking of the wheels. I miss running across the rope bridges in Jungala and riding Air Grover with my little brother. I miss the smell of chlorine and the cold unfriendly YMCA changing rooms. I miss the rock wall and the hot concrete. I miss swimming in pools and being afraid of the robot cleaning the deep end. I miss feeding the ducks stale bread. I miss my 8th grade history teacher. I miss the cold dark mornings in the car. I miss sitting on my backpack outside the door of my first period class. I miss skipping lunch and hiding in the darkness backstage in the auditorium. I miss the library after school. I miss cleaning the fish tanks in the marine science room. I miss the smell of formaldehyde. I miss walking from the school to the local library and hunkering down in the corner to watch Hetalia on my laptop. I miss listening to music as I walked through fog to the bus stop just before sunrise. I miss the dew on the bus windows and the painfully cold mornings and blue faux leather seats always cracked and peeling. I miss the snails hiding in the cracks of the bricks. I miss the warm summer rain and the windy fall days. I miss hiding in the nurse’s room during pep rallies.

Bashira “Bella” Izumi (Digimon) - Bella is part of the original group of digidestined from Digimon Adventure. She was one of the younger kids, like TK and Kari. She’s Izzy’s younger sister. Pictured here is her during Adventure 02 when she’s older. Her partners are Lupamon and later DarkSalamon. She’s also the namesake of my blog

Sara Kanno (Bakugan) - Sara is part of the Bakugan Battle Brawlers. She joined the group during a Bakugan tournament where she met her partner, Ventus Leonidas. The group worked together to beat an evil Bakugan known as Vladitor. After they won, Sara became a Battle Brawler and continued to help save the Bakugan in later seasons

Christy Cane (Pokemon) - Christy is from the Unova region. She is in training to become an Aura Guardian. She lives in a secluded manor in the woods near Nuvema Town training with her grandfather and the other aura guardians to eventually lead the Unova branch of Guardians. Her team is Samurott, Zorua, Luxray, Altaria, Ribombee, and of course, Lucario

Emiko “Elise” Daigo (Yu-Gi-Oh!) - Elise is a member of the Ra Yellow dorm at Duel Academy. She duels using a Lightsworn deck. She is also one of the few people who are able to see duel spirits. Her closest spirit is Wulf: Lightsworn Beast. She always tries to stick up for the Slifer students despite how pointless it may seem

Juliet Walker (Ninjago) - Juliet is Jay’s twin sister and the master of plasma. She become a ninja after her brother when her true potential awakened in season two. She was trained by Sensei Garmadon and is well versed in the art of the Silent Fist. Her weapon is bladed tonfa and she’s dating Zane and PIXAL

Luna the Rabbit (Sonic) - Luna is the older sister of Cream the Rabbit. She is very close to Team Chaotix, specifically Espio. She has the ability to blend into the shadows and move freely between them. Cream looks up to her a lot

Hinoka Kato (Beyblade) - Hinoka is a blader from Japan. Ginga and the others meet her during the Battle Bladers tournament where she ends up losing to Kyoya in the quarterfinals. She ends up becoming a Legendary Blader when a secret third set of Legendary Bladers are revealed, along with Tsubasa, Masamune, and Yu. Her bey is Flame Salamander

Kanako Sera (Naruto) - Kanako is a shinobi for the Hidden Leaf village. She was in the same class as Naruto in the Academy and became a genin with her twin brother. Their sensei was Genma. She has a wind chakra nature and has the Scorch release Kekkei Genkai. During the Blank Period she ends up with Shino

Shina Kelley (Tenkai Knights) - Shina is another member of the Corekai. Her alternate form is called Zenith and attribute is Tenkai Flexibility. Her weapon is spiked knuckles and has control over the element of plants

Christy (SRMTHFG!) - Christy is Chrio’s twin sister. She was imbued with the power of the Power Primate when she and Chrio both activated the Super Robot. The two of them pilot the Torso Tank together. Slight confession, Christy was actually my first OC, not Bella who is actually my ever second OC. I just forgot Christy existed

Delilah North (South Park) - Delilah is the New Kid in South Park. She moved there because her family is on the run from the government that’s trying to use her powers of gaining followers online to their advantage. She quickly makes friends with the kids in town and gets roped into their crazy games of fantasy and super-heros

Raven the Party Spirit (Danny Phantom) - Raven is from the Ghost Zone. She just wants to have a good time and won’t let anyone tell her how. She sometimes comes to Amity Park with her followers to throw huge parties, even if threatens to destroy the town

Izumi “Belle” Steele (MHA) - Bella is my first MHA OC. She is training to become a hero at UA. Her quirk is Volatile Water, which gives her the power to manipulate water and steam. Her hero name is the Hydration Hero- Nympha and she trained under Gang Orca during her time at UA

Ruby's Team

Ruby's main Bakugan team consists of Hynoid with 340Gs , Manion with 290Gs, and Reaper with 310Gs.

The Choice for most of this is a callback of sorts based on the Grimm they've fought.

Hynoid for the Beowolf and Manion as the Sphinx Grimm she fought on the Train with her team. You'll come to learn that alot of the Bakugans I gave them follow this call back but not all. Reaper I added mainly as I knew it would be a crime to give her a Bakugan without a Scythe.

Now while her Bakugan are tough (relative to back in the first show) Ruby's roster isn't done as she has a good set of Gate and Ability Cards.

Her Gate Cards are Hynoid, Dusk, and G-Power Exchange.

Her Ability Cards are Power from Darkness, Double Dimension, and Dire Reaper

The concept of Thad getting really into "kid interests" is something I'd love to see more of in redemption fics (not knocking any fics bc I love people who write redemption fics for Thad). Like I wanna see Thad get super into puzzles and maybe collectibles like Yu-Gi-Oh! cards or Bakugan toys or train sets.

Especially if it's something Bart would have no interest in. I like the whole "mirror twins" thing between the two of them.

I just want Shadow and Lync to share a bunk

Like to think that alongside Volt, Mylene and Lync were also recruited by Hydron

None of them officially joined until they were a bit older but probably trained to eventually join the Vexos; in the mean time they probably worked for Hydron or something like that

Volt recruited at 11; Lync a year later and Mylene following not long after (respectively 13, 8, 12 when they’re all gathered)

My reasoning to why Volt is patient with Lync’s antics and Mylene less so but doesn’t lash out as badly as you think she would around annoying little kids; grew up tgt moment

Spectra probably forced his way into the Vexos like “hiiii i see you dont have any Vexos members <3″ bcs obv he wasn’t using royal scientist dad privelages (i think, bcs Clay seems horrified abt Spectra being a Vexos and well, being Spectra) 

Shadow had an advantage of being a nobleman (in terms of him being accepted into the Vexos’ ranks)

the Vexos and their set of rules magent-ed on the fridge door or something and every time they go over a page they have to staple/tape a new page on

Joined in this order, Volt, Spectra, Shadow, Mylene, Lync, Gus 

Vexos being a “chance of death low but the chance is still there” type of job... they feel like idols girl help they are bakugan idol group who work for the government

think it’d be REALLY funny if he already knew Shadow before he became Spectra, Shadow just doesn’t recognize him bcs of his stupid get up

throws childhood friends Shadow Spectra at you, just two weirdos 

Keith specifically keeps Shadow from ever meeting his sister which is why neither of them really recognize each other

Pre-Spectra; probably would’ve been really into bakugan biology and what not. Feels like the kind of person to talk w/ his dad about “do you think we could change their appearance if we messed w/ their mechanical ball form or would it not carry over to their released forms”

Just Some Gut background; middle class just living life

[canon?] was going on a route to being an “idol brawler”, because that’s kind of what their brawls felt like, since it was all purely for show with some competition. it felt less like a sport and more spectacle.

Gus wanting to be an idol brawler is actually such a funny string of words put together I’m making that a thing, if he didn’t join the Vexos he would’ve been an idol brawler

I like the Gus needs glasses hc (shoutout to @marmeladebois ‘s post on that) 

The hc of him being half human and Runo’s half brother is so good 

Cooks well but refuses to help cook fr the Vexos (unless Spectra specifically asks) --> that job is usually left to Volt

not related but reminds me heavily of yugioh vrain’s Spectre (or other way around... Gus was the blueprint) 

Shadow Prove

inferiority complex or whatever, the only thing he bested his brother in was Bakugan

the Prove family being typical prim proper noble family and forcing Shadow to be repressed is something, but the Proves having the same kind of wavelength as Shadow but in different variations is funnier. They’re just Like That.

Mylene Ferrow

While I like the idea of her being from a military family, I want to make her like Ling Wen (TGCF) in the sense she started from the bottom and climbed to the top... it fits her ambitious nature of grasping for more, she hasn’t reached what she considers the top just yet... 

[very Ling Wen specific but Mylene being put in jail fr crimes unknown to me and being recruited  by Hydron bcs she kicked serious ass is an entertaining thought] 

I like to think she’s closest to Shadow due to the fact he kind of forces his presence onto her so... not her choice in that matter. “annoying” to “endearingly annoying, you still aren’t getting special treatment though”

Ofc Volt and Lync are on the same level, but I think they all know when to give each other space so they’re more of a “we hold each other at a distance, but we’re aware of out closeness which is enough for us”

Then its Spectra and then Gus in the “closest to Mylene” scale; she just straight up hates Gus and it’s mutual

whoever made the “Mylene and Spectra were exes” hc I think it’s really funny so I’m adding it here 

terrible fashion, she’s the one who chose the outfits when she and Shadow went to earth; her fashionable armor look she usually has was designed with Volt’s help, she just voiced what she generally wanted 

Her red lipstick look was bcs she thought it’d make her look more serious/ intimidating (Volt and Lync approved, it rlly does work on her)

Shadow matches w/ her (via his red nails) after they get teamed up tgt several times bcs he thinks they’re basically the go-to duo matchup whenever they’re assigned work n it’d be cool

Very forthcoming about the fact she used to be considered a criminal and was from same rundown area Volt and Lync come from

She’s grateful she got out of jail but she still has no respect for Hydron and despite how much she tries to hide it she does make it pretty clear to him she doesn’t really like him

I wish I had more to say about her... but It’s all relationship esque, i think in general she’s enjoyable and good so what I want more out of her is character dynamics

What’s Airing On Cartoon Network? (July 2020)

While June was a slow month for Cartoon Network, no thanks to HBO Max taking Summer Camp Island and seemingly most of Cartoon Network’s 2020 lineup, July is a bit more interesting. Alongside the return of Mao Mao, we also get the return of Apple & Onion as well! More after the break.

All goes well when you are ignorant is what my dear best friend would say to me now, as I sit in the very back of the class unfocused on how our teacher is introducing an activity I have no chance of participating in. All I knew was that when Mr. Aizawa walked up to the board and wrote names of people getting offers, I wasn't one of them. Not that I expected to be, considering I wasn't in the sports festival, let alone the school at all back then. 

However, I did notice a small inconsistency in the order of the most offers. I was pretty sure that boom boom had gotten first place in the festival, him being there is what convinced me to transfer, but his name was actually second on the board. 

Todoroki had taken the place of first as far as offers were concerned. Todoroki the nice boy who I used to meet when I snuck away from my fucking prison cell. Call me privileged for complaining about living in a mansion All my life, but I much prefer being here. With common folk. They ground me. 

I peeked up from my phone at the red and white head of hair in front of me, he didn't seem all that fazed. Although maybe it was just the lack of seeing his face that made me believe he couldn't care less about all but one of those offers. Still, his business is his, and my business is the new Ao3 update on my favorite chrollo lucilfer fanfiction. What a babe. 

I decided that the class as of right now would be of no importance to me, considering I will have no offers, and bakugou-the reason I came here- hates me like I'm a piece of gum stuck under his shoe.  Through that conclusion I allowed myself to dissolve into the world of hxh and forget about how boring this world is. 

Could my power beat Killua or go in a fight? I mean, it doesn't enhance my strength like they did trying to get into Killua's house so physically they must be stronger. 

"Y/n! Is there something you would like to share with the class?"

Mr.Aizawas voice seemed almost shot at me as my gaze rose from my phone in my lap to meet him at the front of the room. He looked displeased to say the least. Well good for him, im displeased too, I might not be able to beat a fucking twelve year old in combat. 

"Huh?"

"You were grumbling, what's so important you had to tell us, hm?"

I thought it through for a second- just kidding, I never think anything through. 

"Oh, well I wasn't sure if I could beat Gon in a fight, but I'm not coming to the realization that if Chrollo is my boyfriend, I shouldn't have to fight anyone at all. I can just be a pretty face in the backgrounds and then after he wins for me i'll suck his-"

"Enough, y/n." Mr.Aizawa no longer held a tired looking face, his eyes were wide and an uncomfortable cringed was set on his face. As I peered at the rest of the class many also had shocked eyes, but unlike our teacher, held faint blushes. 

Minus midoriya, his face was completely red and his eyes void of life. I must've killed him, huh. 

"Wait!"

In an attempt to regain some dignity, I tried to correct myself.

"I would....not suck his-?"

"Don't even say it, shitty princess !"

"Woah bakugou, you spoke to me on purpose!?"

"Shut up!"

"Hey, how come you call me princess, you like me or something?"

He growled at that, neither of us paying mind to the fact that everyone in the class was either dead from nosebleeds or extremely uncomfortable and staring at us.  

"Its cuz you act fucking entitled like a princess"

"I'll be your pillow princes-"

"Enough!" A robotic-like hand sliced the air in front of me. The voice sounded firm, almost more teacher-like than our teacher's voice. I followed my gaze up the hand, not failing to notice how as I drew up the guy's arm his muscles only seemed to get bigger and bigger and- iida? 

"Oh class rep-"

"Y/n this vulgar language and border-line harassment needs to cease immediately. I will not tolerante overtly sexual language and acts in this class-"

As he was speaking I noticed something ironic about the situation. If everyone here didn't like sexual jokes or banter, how were they so flustered at comments that objectively should be unknown to them. 

"How did you know what I meant, iida?" I rasped in a low sultry voice, allowing my fingers to dance up his arm starting at the wrist in front of my face. 

I heard a few chuckles from, who I would say are the only two people enjoying this situation: kaminari and...stinky mineta. Iida's face grew more red than previously and the arms in front of me began shaking. 

"Mr.Aizawa it seems I've disarmed the robot. Is there a restart button or something?" I question with a serious face using the search as an excuse to wonder my eyes all over his body. Perverted? Yes. Rightfully attracted to this giant hunk of a nerd. Yes ×10. 

"No, there is not." Todoroki, who was in front of me, finally turned around to address me. I guess he was unfazed by my words. Looks like someone here can be cool. Whether he is okay because he is more comfortable with sexual jokes, or because he has yet to pick up on them, its nice that somebody in here can still function. Otherwise, I'd feel like a nuisance. 

"Y/n I'm not really sure how to- let's just say to have detention with your m- midnight. Detention. Yeah." Aizawa publicly convinced himself of my punishment? 

"Okay"

"Now, back to this, even if you didn't get any offers ALL of you will have an internship" 

And so went on the class, kids chose their hero names, not me though. I wasn't even sure I wanted to be a hero at all, this was just a little less boring and sad than the way I lived before. This school had people who laughed in joy, not just to mask the pain. That was the real benefit, not being a hero, or being strong. Likely no one here realized that there were many places where none of this joy was possible. 

Some of the kids in class gave me suggestions for a hero name, but I didn't like them anyway. They lacked personality, and while I have many adjectives to describe my personality, my life, none of them are all that heroic.

Ive seen her do that plant shit a couple times, fucking with flowers or whatever. Still, there's more to it. Something we don't know, at least. Interrupts class, got into the school because her moms a teacher, won't use her quirk. What a nuisance, I can't believe she is not expelled yet. Plus those bullshit sex jokes are so shitty. "Just that he seems pretty...uptight..for you?" Dunceface added, but he spoke like it was a question. Of course he is the hero for me, he is the highest ranting hero on my list. If I wanna be number one, I gotta train with the best. 

If I go to his agency I'm sure there will be a lot more action, since he is so high ranking. Then i'll get some real experience kicking villain ass, well, other than the USJ.

Shit. It's her voice. I honestly should applaud her for using it less often around me but, how can one small girl be so goddamn annoying. I don't even know what she has to say and I already wish she would just put a sock in it. How can someone so entitled like her, probably never had to lift a finger, walk  over here and talk like she has something to say. 

"You're working with the best jeanist! So cool, one time he saved me from a group of rapist guys, it was awesome with all these strings everywhere and I could only see half of his face. Oh and he had goofy hair too!"

Oh. I didn't really know how to respond to the girl who looked so excited about almost being violated. Another thing wrong with her? I looked back at the other people at the table to see if they knew how to respond to something like that. 

Dunceface was frozen, tape arms were frozen, shitty hair was frozen, and alíen eyes were looking like a lost puppy and trying not to cry. 

It didnt seem like the shutty princess was exactly understanding how what she just yelled was making things weird. She just stood there expectantly. She kinda looked like she thought being raped was something that must happen to everyone. Did she think that? Wouldn't put it past her weird ass. 

"Uhm...anyways, i'm sure you'll do awesome, he likes to put boys in tight jeans. Wish I could intern too, I'd love to see that boom boom~" she winked. 

A perverted joke...and then she had the audacity to wink at me. 

"You wish you could see me in tight jeans, shitty extra!"

"I know...thats what a I just said." She dead panned, blinking a couple times at me. 

"Tch, screw you!"

The girl stopped herself after my words, pushing all her hair behind her head, except for the two blond stands in the front. 

(You don't have to acknowledge these if you don't want, but I made it so that they change color depending on what element your using and I thought it was hot*if you have short hair, then you just got a lil nishinoya type thing 🥰)

Lifted her obnoxious hands that moved around while she talked and made a zipper-like motion over her lips. Then she just stood there looking at me. I really wanted to just let her stand there and go back to eating. Ignore her completely and let her hope fizzle out and die or something like that. 

Yet here I am, still looking at her. Silently. Wishing she made a stupid joke so that I could stop flickering between those images I'd seen of her dancing. How even though ballet is a princess fucking dance, the pictures felt nice. Like if I was watching it live I would probably be unable to criticize it. That pissed me off, because I want to hate everything about her, but I can't hate those photos. Where she looks like she is flying, without any need for a quirk.

I see her in that weird gown, and now, in the UA uniform. I see her looking respectable, formal, and serious. Then I see her stupid little smirk as she takes pride in being able to shut up for more than a minute. 

"Why are you still standing there?"

Instead of answering, she took her hand up again, made a pinch with her fingers and unzipped her mouth. 

"I was enjoying the look in your eyes."she smiled. 

The look in my eyes? Could she tell I was seeing two different people? What the hell does that even mean? Even said it without that shitty flirt voice. Like she meant it. 

"You tryna make fun of me?"I stood up from the table to get in her face.

"Not right now, maybe later, I gotta do something." She smiled sincerely at me, for a second as she walked away, I forgot about how this conversation started. What a wierd fucking girl. I'll never respect her as a hero. Tch. (Yes, its canon he tchs even in his thoughts)

Y/n briskly walked out of the cafeteria with a new goal in mind. She would come to remember how maybe being oblivious was a benefit in some ways, but for now, she had a clear plan .

"Mr.Aizawa, let me do an internship."

"You weren't in the festival, I can't just hand you to a hero who has no idea what you can do, y/n."

"Well, you know what I can do, right?"

"No. I'm not doing internships. Stop asking."

"That's not what I meant! You can just tell them, or I could, it's not that hard to explain. Just say i'm all- powerful or some play on words like 'she's got all the right elements' hehe, see how i mimicked your voice there?" Y/n grinned like a child. She was proud of herself. 

"No. Still not happening."

"You already have detention, what more do you want!"

If the girl had just asked again in a normal way, his answer would have been the same. However Aizawa was taken aback to hear how much thought she put into this. From the stories of the teachers lounge, he came to understand her big life goal, was to rely fully on a rich man or woman, and do nothing at all forever. Just to try and forget about the terrible life she was destined to have because of that quirk.

Mira frowned at the digitally-displayed map.

"Didn't there used to be-"

Ace nodded, not bothering to look up from his own computer. Mira hissed under her breath, and Shun, from his position in the co-pilot seat, waved his hand in the air. The 3D map spun, giving him a better look at what concerned the others. He frowned too.

"Is that- are those all dimension controllers? I thought you said there were only three."

Ace swiveled in his chair. "That's because there were only three, when we started. They were probably in construction or something, because their signals only just appeared on our maps."

Mira let out a strangled groan, lowering herself into another of the tank cab's seats. She peeked out between her fingers for another look. "Delta? Epsilon? Zeta?" Her eyes roamed the map in clear frustration. The trio sit in silence for some time, the projected map casting a sickly green light in the small room as the sunlight died outside.

Eventually, Shun spoke up again. "I think we should proceed to Alpha City as planned. We can't let ourselves get overwhelmed so quickly- leave the other cities alone until it's time."

Ace sneered, but Mira nodded, standing again. "Maybe we won't even need to destroy all the controllers ourselves- if we're truly right, then maybe we'll end up inspiring the masses."

"Hey- that's a stupid idea, and you know it," Ace bit out, barely remembering to curb his worst thoughts while talking to Mira. "No matter how many civilians we may inspire, we can't just let untrained kids brawl against the Vexos." He was gripping the arms of his chair hard enough to turn his knuckles white.

"Maaan, I ache everywhere!" Dan whined loudly, sprawling across the tiny room's cold floor, repeatedly rubbing his bruised hips. Baron whined in agreement, massaging his bicep. You huff at the both as you stick another padded bandage to his face.

"You're stupid, you two." They refuse to look at you, so you whirl on Marucho, who also shyly averts his gaze. "And you, Choji! You were supposed to keep them in check!"

"I know, I know, and I'm sorry, [Name]!" Marucho looks up at you with those big, pleading eyes of his. When you look back, Dan and Baron are making the same face.

The tightness in your chest begins to dissipate. You sigh in defeat.

"You guys just need to be so much more careful while training." You pat Baron on the thigh, and he nods at you, eyes trained on where you're touching him "We need the entire team, y'all can't go getting hurt on me."

Baron flashes a quick, playful grin. "Miss [Name], I'll do almost anything if it gets me your attention like this again-"

He's cut off by Dan scrambling off the floor, clutching at the air dramatically. "[Name], we totally gotta keep getting way stronger if we're gonna free the Bakugan!"

The other boys nod enthusiastically; you reach over and flick Dan in the forehead, and he winces, rubbing his forehead now as you scowl at them all.

"We can't save the Bakugan if y'all fall off another cliff while training!"

The boys look like they're gearing up for another of your usual playful bickering sessions, but they're headed off by the door to your makeshift infirmary sliding open.

Ace stepped in. You tensed up as his icy gaze hones in on you, before he shifts to frown at the mildly-pathetic boys you've bandaged.

"We're moving on Alpha City. It'll be several days before we arrive- spend your time preparing, okay? This isn't one of your games."

Frowning, you step further between Ace and Dan, shielding your old friend from Ace's glare as best you can. Even drawing yourself up to your full height, you're much smaller than he is; you're much cuter than you are intimidating. Ace almost wants to laugh.

"Our battle against Naga was real, Ace. If it hadn't been for us, the Bakugan-"

"-wouldn't have been recaptured in the first place!" Ace cuts you off.

"Hey man, lay off! If it wasn't for [Name], you wouldn't have that Percival of yours- you can't just go treating her like that, after everything she does for you!" Dan stepped to your side and placed his hand on your back protectively.

Ace paused for a moment before scoffing. He looked away and muttered, "Whatever, just be ready." He turns on his heel and leaves, taking the tension with him.

As the door slid shut behind him, Ace pressed himself against the wall, glaring at the floor in frustration. From up ahead, he can hear Mira and Shun talking quietly; behind him, faint traces of your voice echo through the wall.

Percival rolls in from Ace's bedroom, rolling up against his friend's shoe for attention. Ace picks up his partner, and the Bakugan pops open in his hand, clearly studying his face.

"Did it go well?"

Ace sighed. "Something just rubs me the wrong way- ugh, you should've seen the way Baron looks at her. I can't stand it."

Percival was silent for a moment, and then, "It almost sounds like you're jealous." He's only voicing his thoughts, but Ace nearly drops him.

"I'm not jealous-!" Ace sputters, although the tips of his ears turn bright red. "It's just. . . frustrating. How they don't seem to be taking any of this seriously."

"Well, have you considered the fact that they've done this before?" When his partner doesn't interrupt, Percival continues. "They saved their own world years ago- yes, we're strong, but we're inexperienced in comparison. Trust them, Ace."

Before the brawler could argue, a voiced drifted from the front cab. "Ace! We need you to set the best course!"
