Bai Zhan Learning Style
I think Liu Qingge did teach his students
Wordlessly. Probably with gestures the students recognized, but a narrator like SQQ didn't. To him, it just looked like he was beating them up.
A teaching style so completely opposite to the modern schooling that SQQ wouldn't have registered it as teaching. A teaching style that would never work to teach SQQ anything, but would be great for some types of kids that fall through the cracks of the modern educational system.
Kids who worked better with a more traditional classroom style would hate it, but that doesn't matter, because everyone on Bai Zhan is there by choice.

I’ve seen jokes about the absurdity of Liu Qingge and Bai Zhan, the chaotic, dirty, monster destroying, fighters peak, wearing white robes, so I’d like to present a theory:
Laundry is punishment for not being good enough to dodge.
Part of being a good fighter is bodily awareness. You need to know where you are in space/in relation to your opponent at all times. You need to keep your stance and movement well controlled to not leave any gaps in your defenses.
Having mud on your hem means you weren’t aware of yourself or of your environment
Having tears means you didn’t dodge fast enough.
Having blood stains either means you failed to evade or that you didn’t have the good sense not to stand the blood spray as you behead a monster.
Washing out all the stains and mending their robes is the punishment, the natural consequences of these failures.
If they don’t scrub diligently enough, all their peak mates will see the marks of their failure in combat every day.

More Wei Qingwei blabbering and I'll never stop (I will not apologise for the cliffhanger yesterday)
When something emerged from amongst the bushes and darted in front of them, Wei Yi reacted before he could think. It was that familiar instinct that came with fear, that instinct to run and hide as fast as possible but- but now he could fight. Now he could protect himself, and A-Zhang. He lunged. It was the only way to describe how he launched himself at the threat and knocked it down, falling with it for only a moment before they thudded against the floor and he found himself face to face with a mildly shocked looking disciple, fists clenched in the familiar white and dark blue, almost black, robes of Bai Zhan. It took him a second to register that he had just accidentally pinned down a Bai Zhan disciple, of all peaks. It took him another second to register that A-Zhang was absolutely cackling behind him, and that the Bai Zhan disciple looked positively exhilarated despite the fact that they had been knocked over so easily. Wei Yi's heart had been racing even as he let go of the Bai Zhan disciple and stood up, A-Zhang gave him a warm congratulations, patting him on the back as he introduced him to Liu Yanfei, the head disciple of Bai Zhan Peak. Before Wei Yi could even think about apologising, he received a demand to fight again. Liu Yanfei hadn't seemed mad; rather, he had seemed almost...excited, and Wei Yi almost felt as though he could understand it. Being the head disciple of the war peak meant that Liu Yanfei likely struggled to find opponents that were worth fighting; it surely wasn't often that he was actually tackled by someone, someone from another peak, no less! So, he offered to spar with Liu Yanfei if he had any free time (he saw A-Zhang's expression of worry, but he really didn't mind. His hobbies were his normal duties anyway, so it was truly no big deal), and the way his shidi lit up was worth the injuries he would receive from sparring with such a boy. Anyway, he had been learning the other peaks' fighting styles (a responsibility for the head disciple alone) and it would be good to have someone to practice with! Bai Zhan was honestly incredibly fun. There was something wild about the place, with the disciples having even more relaxed manners than Wan Jian and a Shizun that would charge anyone she saw fit if they were slacking according to her rules of what is slacking. Wei Yi was once was tackled when he was showing Liu Yanfei a spearhead he had made for him, and almost stabbed himself in the chest as he tumbled to the floor (luckily, he only stabbed himself in the foot due to how the spearhead dropped). It had been mildly interesting to realise that Yanfei's Shizun was colourblind as they both stared at the piece of pretty looking metal protruding from his foot. Shifu hadn't let him go to Bai Zhan for a while after that, but he had found it pretty funny in hindsight. Plus, it meant that he was sent to An Ding more often to ask for forms and paperwork to complete, and even hung around to help some of the other distressed looking disciples with their tasks. One of these was someone who everyone classed as the unofficial head disciple (apparently their shizun was too busy to make it official). They had started talking when he noticed that this mousey disciple had similar hair to his, and that it was terribly unkempt. As someone who had struggled with his hair a lot before Shifu took it into his own hands and showed him how it worked, Wei Yi sympathised and offered to do it for him. He had never seen a disciple cry so much from a simple offer.

Hey. What if
What if i threw Yanqing and Capitano together. On baizhan peak.
No, actually
What if i made capitano adopt luo binghe
No, actually— CAPITANO AND MOBEI-JUN???
No no wait, Capitano looming over Yanqing menacingly while bro's just explaining to his cute little shidis what to do on their first mission and some of them being terrified of their shixiong with some particularly thinking capitano is cool asf
Yanqing: voice of reason
Capitano: "wdym i wasn't suppose to kill them" while being surrounded by death and gore and corpses (of beasts)
The (younger) disciples: ducklings

"Heavens, he doesn't understand again." "Every time he says 'I don't understand', Lui-shixiong grabs someone to demonstrate until he understands..." Ji Jue quietly complained to Shang Qinghua. No wonder the injuries at Bai Zhan Peak had only increased!
so this is obviously Liu Qingge's entire love language, right?

The first time disciple Shen Yuan/Shen Qingqiu meets Liu Qingge, it is during a Bai Zhan peak raid. And what ends up happening is that Shen Qingqiu gets kicked in the jaw with such force he feels his teeth clack together unpleasantly. And frustrated with his situation, the system, and quite frankly a ton of other little things that have been building up over the course of the last few weeks, he feels something snap in the back of his mind like that of a rubber band after being stretched too far.
What ends up happening is that Shen Qingqiu turns and locks onto the very first figure he can see that is dressed in grey-and-white like a homing missile, and then with the force of a twin-tailed mountain tiger, lunges towards said figure with an equally menacing snarl.
He ends up taking the Bai Zhan peak disciple by utter surprise, and they both collide into the ground in a tangle of angry yelling and limbs. What ends up happening is that Liu Qingge gets the subsequent wind knocked out of him and pinned into the dirt by a Qing Jing peak disciple who is filled with the might and fury of a scholar having their peaceful afternoon interrupted and a once-grown-man re-experiencing puberty.
It is with that might and fury that Liu Qingge meets the wild, frenzied eyes of Shen Qingqiu, with his lips pulled back into a truly ferocious scowl. Shen Qingqiu hisses out, with such force it makes his voice rasp, as if he might as well sink his teeth into Liu Qingge's throat and rip it out; "Get the fuck off my mountain."
Liu Qingge is so shocked by -- well, quite a many things, but most importantly the fact that he has been pinned, and the way the sun is bouncing off this boy's face, -- that his brain needs five seconds to reboot. It's five seconds too long, because by the time he registers what just happened, Shen Yuan has clambered off him and disappeared. Gone and thrown himself into the closest dust cloud scuffling in order to unleash the rest of his fury on the other Bai Zhan Peak kids.
Qing Jing Peak experiences an unfortunate uptick in Bai Zhan disciple visits -- specifically of the Liu Qingge variety. Specifically Liu Qingge, actually. Who very much wants to find the boy that managed to get one over on him and demand a rematch. (Or maybe kiss him.)

Does anyone have any SVSSS headcanons for the Peaklords/The Peaks?
Looking for potential ideas for Disciple! Era peaklords! or even better Previous Generation! Peaklords
My headcanons are:
1) Mu Qingfang is the oldest of the peaklords, not like decades older, but many a solid 5 or 6 years compared to the other peaklords. I don't know, he just gives off "Why am I an adult forced to keep app these children alive alone" vibes.
2) A previous Bai Zhan Peaklord from before Liu Qingge made a tradition where all Bai Zhan disciples are to 'raid' Qing Jing peak and grab an item of high value. This tradition began simply as a way for the then Qing Jing Peaklord to visit Bai Zhan and so they both had an excuse to meet 'to discuss discipline'. All Bai Zhan Peaklords have maintained this tradition in order to playfully prank their friend Qing Jing Peaklord or so they had an excuse to visit each other. It's only in recent times (Liu Qingge's time) that the once playful raids have turned serious, with damages to both peaks at an all time high.
3) Shang Qinghua and Mu Qingfang both have a collective supply of watermelon seeds and alcohol that they share after every meeting. No one knows how it started, just that the two will meet after the meeting, go to one of their peaks, and just eat and drink to relief their stress. Reports say that after these meetings Mu Qingfang usually has some sort of medical revelation that solves hundreds of diseases they'd been concerned over for years (Shang Qinghua is using everything he remembers from his drafts to tell Mu Qingfang how to solve the same deadly disease that wife #561 from the Moonwhisperer tribe had and the other way of curing it that didn't include PAPAPA that he half-thought up as a way to make the scene seem actually thought out and like the worldbuilding was still in one piece).
4) Xian Shu teaches its disciples ways to poison enemies with needles, how to disguise themselves in mere minutes, and disarm enemies in a quick, often described as elegant' way. This fighting style was perfected by Qi Qingqi during her disciple hood, earning her place as the Head Disciple. She teaches Liu Mingyan and Liu Mingyan uses this style against Sha Hualing. The reason (SY) Shen Qingqiu couldn't see their fight was because the Xian Shu style allowed for Liu Mingyan's attacks to be near instant at a blinding speed. However, the fighting style also teaches the disciples to know when they are outmatched, leading Liu Mingyan to surrender as she realises Sha Hualing was too strong for her at her current state. Present day Liu Mingyan can put up a good fight against Sha Hualing as she now has her spiritual sword.
5) The reason Qian Cao disciples are more respected than An Ding disciples is due to the fact that most Bai Zhan disciples have a deeply rooted respect for them, often acting as defenders for them, due to the fact that Bai Zhan disciples are often at the mercy of Qian Cao disciples during healing. It's also due to the fact that many disciples of other peaks have horror stories of suspicious sightings at Qian Cao in the middle of the night, often swearing up and down that they saw a ghost, only for a Qian Cao disciple to smile and shake their head and insist they were only seeing things. No one wants to know what Qian Cao is hiding.
(I have a few more headcanons, but I'll probably write them in another post. Maybe some of these might be disproven in Canon, but remember Canon is but a guideline and SVSSS haven't seen Canon in a long time.)

the idea came to me in a migraine induced dream but now im obsessed with the concept of a mu qingfang who knew the abuse bunhe was going through at the hands of og!shen qingqiu/shen jiu and did his best to treat the kid whenever he could (and bring his concerns to zhangmen shixiong, which were obviously very much ignored) and his constant worry over the situation means that when the qi deviation happens he is suspicious of shen qingqiu’s changes for all different reasons and very much protective of luo binghe -who is a sweet child and an earnest disciple who seems to always find the most incredible medicinal herbs to bring to his mu shishu as thanks for the care bestowed upon him- which means that when the whole shen qingqiu dying thing happens instead of bad mouthing luo binghe or fighting him at every chance he does his best to come over and keep an eye on things to try and help him and make sure luo binghe won’t kill himself trying to bring shen qingqiu back because he remembers that earnest kid and he’s witnessed luo binghe’s devotion to this shen qingqiu first hand and knows there is no way that the kid who cried when ning yingying found a bird with a broken wing and begged mu qingfang to fix it and the kid that would always borrow medical texts and try to find new herb combinations as if it was a game between him and qian cao disciples is actually doing anything nefarious to shen qingqiu’s corpse.
anyways in this essay i will-
#listen#binghe needs to have more people in his corner#and for some reason i have imprinted on mqf#so you get cool healer uncle#who probably smoked weed with binghe and made him promise to keep quiet#lbh and mqf bonding activity was teaching lbh to properly roll joints#anyways mqf understanding that the rituals are intricate and lqg doesn’t have any other way of coping with his grief#but the first time lqg injures lbh almost to death in a fight they get into a screaming match so violent#that no bai zhan discipline will look at him in the face without going pale for the next month#that is his nephew! who found several thought-to-be-extinct herbs for him!#also him telling sqq that lbh might have forgotten what he did but mqf certainly didn’t#a healer never forgets the wounds they heal#and sqq is just like yeah brother me neither :(#mqf is going to therapy these idiots so fucking hard#lbh also keeps trying to matchmake him with some nice demons in his court like shamelessly trying to poach his mu shishu#also he and shang qinghua are the only ones who still get the full shishu treatment#except lbh kinda bullies sqh a little for the virtue of the whole mbj situation#(hes never gonna let them live that down)#anyways it’s whatever at first but at one poont years in the future it does become a point of contempt with the other peak lords#nothing can take away from me that when bored they will squabble like children#such is the way of bored adults#i have rambled enough so normal tags now#svsss#svsss writing#luo binghe#shen qingqiu#mu qingfang#bingqiu#svsss au

Hello, where can I find an AU where Liu Qingge and Luo Binghe switch roles?
By which I mean the following:
Shen Qingqiu absolutely loathes his shidi. The Bai Zhan peak lord is no better than a mindless beast, a brute. For all that his fellow peak lord was blessed with talent in the martial arts - he was a prodigy that immediately overwhelmed his older martial siblings just a year after joining the sect to assume the position of head disciple - and dogged stubbornness that allowed him to discover endless rare treasures and even rarer beasts and plants, this shidi was an irritating, uncouth, ill mannered and even more ill tempered cultivator that always accosted Shen Jiu day in and day out for-
"Fight me!"
Shen Jiu wacked Luo Qingehe on the head. "Beast!"
Luo Qinghe stepped back a couple steps, not looking sheepish in the slightest. "Shixiong," he whined instead, looking like a bullied maiden with teary eyes and a pout. He hunched himself to not look like the broad shouldered towering menance that was Bai Zhan's War God. "Just one spar? I made you lunch too."
Shen Jiu knew better than to be tricked at such foolish deception. Not when he knew the true purpose of Luo Qinghe's goal was to...
To...
"Immoral!" A scandalized young boy jumped right in. His face was red and incensed. He pulled out a sword - a wooden sword, one that was granted to disciples too young to go to the sword peak and find their cultivation sword - and immediately lept over the guqin. "Leecherous scum!" He raised the sword high over his head to strike the Bai Zhan peak lord.
Shen Qingqiu raised his fan higher so he wouldn't have to see the despicable scene any longer. Yet again, he regretted taking on the Liu clan's scion into Qing Jing peak. This noble's son was far more suited for Bai Zhan's ways, no matter how his face and lineage indicated that he was more suited toward spiritual cultivation.
No-
No, it was more apt to say that it was Luo Qinghe's fault. The man has folded like wet paper the moment Shen Qingqiu had interrupted to say that he wanted the Liu heir for his peak.
Yes, that was accurate. Everything was the beast's fault.
-o-o-o-o-o-o-
An AU where Luo Binghe is the Bai Zhan peak lord and part of the Qing generation. Liu Qingge is Shen Jiu's newest disciple. Somehow Luo Binghe's demonic seal managed to stay in tact... until Liu Qingge goes off to participate in his first Conference and Mobei Jun tears apart the Bai Zhan's seal.
Luo Binghe regularly barges into Shen Qingqiu's cottage with food - it's his (poorly thought out) attempts at wooing his shixiong. His requests for spars are so he can get his hands on Shen Qingqiu - cop a feel or two. See a mussed up disheveled Shen Qingqiu too, with red cheeks and panting mouth. Hehehe...
Everyone and their mother knows about Luo Binghe's crush on Shen Qingqiu. If only Shen Qingqiu didn't think that Luo Binghe was messing around with him.
As for Liu Qingge? His mom arranged for her son to go to Qing Jing peak as Proper Noble Children Do in hopes of Liu Qingge actually learning the gentlemenary arts instead of only fighting with swords...
No, it doesn't work.
But Liu Qingge is there to help console Shen Jiu after Luo Binghe's "death" in the conference. (So Luo Binghe did learn some politics by having a crush on Shen Qingqiu and jumped into the Endless Abyss himself...) Funnily enough, Liu Qingge, despite being a Qing Jing disciple, manages to become the new(?) Bai Zhan peak lord after Luo Binghe's "death". Blame Bai Zhan peak lord tradition of being the best fighter on the peak.
Liu Qingge still continues calling Shen Qingqiu "shizun" in peak lord meetings though.
