what kinks do u think L & Light (and maybe BB & Misa) are into? (also i am a bottom light supporter)
this took me ages to answer OTL and it's gonna be long as fuck
i'm gonna be so serious here and say that L doesn't have any specific kinks as much as he likes to take people apart like puzzle boxes by whatever means necessary. the ultimate vers switch. it's easier to name what he's not into, like voyeurism, because stakeouts have really inured him to watching people doing anything. there's really no thrill there anymore. he likes being surprised and overwhelmed nearly as much as he likes exerting his dominance over others, so you could probably say he's a fan of brat taming. he gets turned off by instant submission just as much as light does and gets off on humiliating light specifically. it's like winning and by god, he fucking loves winning.
if he's on top he's controlling and demanding and thorough. i'd say he's into bondage but not really, like, handcuffs or straitjacket restraints because those are mundane for him. shibari is new and exciting and aesthetically pleasing, however.
with light specifically, he likes driving light to the edge of madness in as many ways as possible. overwhelm him with pleasure or humiliation or pain or sheer embarrassment, anything and everything goes. he can switch from body worship to forcing light into a dress and calling him the prettiest girl he's ever seen just to get light to snap his teeth at him, because an honest light yagami is one that is losing. i don't think violence particularly interests him but he does like endurance play. he'll pistol whip light just to see how much he can take.
light yagami, however. i've talked about his kinks here somewhat in regards to dynamics but here's a non exhaustive list of things he gets off on and really fucking hates he gets off on:
forcefem
bondage
noncon
choking and breathplay in either direction
gunplay
impact play (getting slapped, spanked, but i think if L hit him in the face with his cock he might start biting)
heavy degradation (L has called him slurs in bed and the sex afterward was explosive)
praise, no matter how tongue in cheek
he thinks he likes topping and being worshipped but the truth is that he can't stand either of these things and L can only do the latter if light's deep enough in subspace to appreciate it. he absolutely gets off on dominating L, though. this interacts with lawlight's mutual sadomasochism in strange ways and culminates on a predator-prey dynamic where light gets horniest when he gets to kick L around a little bit before ultimately losing. he doesn't really brat, per say, as much as he will genuinely shove his foot into L's skinny chest and be hard about it right up until L bends him over the nearest surface. does that make sense
anyway about misa. i actually think misa just wants to be owned. she'd be really happy as someone's cute pet on a leash. in many ways the perfect sub or pillow princess because her endurance is through the roof and her willingness to please is sky high. i don't see her into anything permanently disfiguring or super painful, but otherwise she'd be pretty down for anything. just don't make her do too much work. she will whine about it. she's a fan of sensory play, like with candles, and likes having rope burns after sex even if she complains that it hurts.
beyond is. hilarious. as a beyondmassacre enthusiast and a lawbeyond truther that guy is bottoming extremely hard every time. i think he likes it when naomi kicks him in the face and when she shoves her extremely loaded, standard issue 9mm glock in his mouth to get him to stop running it. the edgeplay of it all, his life riding on naomi's trigger finger. he'd love that shit. he's a slut for praise and getting forced into submission, but he doesn't get bitchy about it like light does--beyond knows his place, and it's under someone else. like L!
he'd be into mirror sex with L specifically because of the whole forced twin thing he has going on and I also think he'd really love just. being looked at. an exhibitionist sub through and through. admired and jealously fapped to. with naomi specifically he gets off on cucking raye. he likes to be chosen :]

An ONK question that's been on my mind a lot is that what does ch109 serves to the character of Kamiki. The chapter felt out of place to me when it came out, because it's a (supposed) murder and no at all tied to the entertainment industry. It's criminal activity with no nuance. Many read this as an implication that Kamiki has been killing people left right and center and Ai was one of his victims. But... Now I wonder if this is a retcon of some kind. Yura's death was mentioned once (1) after the chapter and I kept wondering how the heck is it possible for Kamiki, a pretty high profile guy in the industry, to be going around killing other high profile people without anyone noticing. It also doesn't feel like the current ONK plot is leaning towards "Kamiki is a psychopath murderer". Don't get me wrong, I like what we know about Kamiki now and how his past shaped him. It feels more in line with the theme of ONK. It's just hard for me to forget that a woman died on screen! I want to know your thoughts on how this might play out / tie into his character? Your character analysis are always on point & your HKAI posts helped me processed a lot of the 15YL plotline.
NGL at this point I really don't know what to make of it LOL. Back when I was first trying to figure out what was going on with Kamiki, I revisited that chapter and actually came away feeling pretty certain that he hadn't actually killed Yura and the presentation there was a red herring to make him seem more actively villainous to the reader and mislead us as to what his intentions were.
Part of this was because we had gotten the reveal of his victimisation at Airi's hands shortly before this chapter (just shy of 10 chapters before, iirc?) and that reveal combined with Akane's revolted horror in reaction to putting those pieces together had me pretty sure we were heading towards a place of Kamiki being portrayed as sympathetic and someone to emphasize with. Thus, it would be weirdly incongruous with that setup for him to also be a yandere serial killer who was wandering around sniping sparkly actresses.
The other (and tbh, probably more influential in hindsight) factor was that we don't actually see Kamiki killing her. The chapter being set up to make him so overtly suspicious while refusing to show him actually committing murder ironically made me less inclined to think he was responsible for Yura's death. The way I interact with murder mysteries and also just like, fiction in general is pretty much entirely filtered through the ways Umineko specifically and When They Cry as a whole warped my brain and the way 109 was presented read to me exactly like the sort of narrative trick R07 would have used to make a character look suspicious of something they didn't actually do.
Now though… I really dunno lol. Like you said, it feels out of place - not just in Kamiki's arc but in the story as a whole. My best guess is that Akasaka maybe did originally intend to write Kamiki as a serial killer targeting women who would surpass Ai but in the process of actually putting his arc to paper, he evolved into a different character for whom that kind of arc wouldn't make sense. Which I actually prefer! The Kamiki we get in the manga feels a lot more nuanced and human to me compared to the yandere Light Yagami serial killer mastermind people were making up in their heads. But it also means that Yura's death is this weird snarl that I don't think Akasaka knows how to reconcile.
Actually - literally as I was writing that I suddenly realised, this might be why Nino suddenly came out of nowhere and started being written like she was? Akasaka has said in the past that he's had OnK's ending in his head for a really long time and I can't help but wonder now if part of that ending involved the twins' father playing an antagonistic role that ultimately did not suit the character that he became. So the character's antagonistic traits and role in the endgame were grafted onto Nino because she happened to fit the bill.

There are SO MANY chances RGG had with showing off how Higashi and Sugiura interact without anyone around, but they're always OFF-SCREEN and we never see any of it!
Sugiura and Higashi bring Kaito to some back-alley doctor (Emoto Medical Clinic, perhaps?) to get him patched up after being shot. There's no way they didn't talk a little. Sugiura would have still had the device to listen in on the Matsugane office, and it's clear he overheard what Higashi was doing in terms of going against Hamura's orders and getting beat up as a result of his defiance. It also explains how Sugiura knew where to find Yagami when he and Kaito got ambushed by Hamura.
Tumblr media
After Saori agrees to a date with Kido at the batting center in Kamurocho, Yagami mentions that Higashi and Sugiura are going ahead to keep an eye on the place.
Tumblr media
After Yagami and Sugiura get back from Shono's secret lab, Kaito leaves Higashi in charge of staying with Sugiura.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Lost Judgment, after Sugiura and Yagami bring Mamiya over to Charles for questioning, Yagami leaves them to go meet up with Kuwana.
Tumblr media
It's obvious that the two interact enough to get on friendly terms by the end of Judgment. Higashi gets uppity when Sugiura grabs the Charles phone and hands it to Yagami, and Sugiura briefly mentions that Higashi acts like he's hot shit. But after Matsugane dies, Sugiura lends his van to Kaito and Higashi to keep an eye on Kuroiwa. It could be that Kaito just can't drive and Higashi can, but it feels trusting for Sugiura to allow Higashi to drive his vehicle.
Tumblr media
After Sugiura and Higashi stay together at Charles and that month passes awaiting Kuroiwa's trial, Higashi taking the time to stop in the middle of action to direct Sugiura to go with Yagami feels like he knows that it would mean a lot for Sugiura to help get Shono.
Tumblr media
Even at the end of Lost Judgment, Sugiura comments on Higashi's boredom in Kamurocho. Which means at some point, the two caught up on what's been happening in however long it had been since they saw each other. Higashi probably told Sugiura that Charles was doing better, but it left him with too much time on his hands and nothing to do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don't get me wrong, the lack of screen-time together means that for me, as a writer, I can fill in the blanks with my own interpretation, but... man, I just would love to get an idea of how they are together alone. RGG has put them together in situations, but of course we don't get to be flies on the wall for any of them.
And yeah, it doesn't further the plot to see how they interact with each other, but I feel like them getting along by the end of Judgment was character development for the both of them. Especially when you consider that, really, they were in similar circumstances during Judgment and just doing their best to get by.

I really enjoy these posts. Something I had commented makes me wonder if you could go into more detail about.
And that is how Takeru and Yamato have inverse perspectives when it comes to sovialdynamics.
Takeru notices things about individuals from a personal perspective, however Yamato notices things about others from a group perspective.
Just wondering if you could go into that some more.
Taichi and Hikari also have a similar but different dynamic. I just think these dynamics between the sibling pairs is awesome and it’s amazing to contrast them!
Mhhh, that is definitely an angle I have never thought about before. Whereas I believe that I have the dynamics of the Yagami siblings pretty much figured out for the most part, the Takaishida brothers are a completely different beast.
But what you said there really got me thinking - it makes sense that they've got different perception styles, based on how their priority systems are functioning.
Throughout the course of Adventure - keep in mind that they're pretty much both still children here -, their main focuses are very different:
Yamato's main objective is to take care of Takeru, so the majority of his actions, decisions and even his aggravations revolve around this perspective. While he obviously still interacts with most of the other characters, his bonds are not as elaborated on - he even realizes that he doesn't fully understand what "friendship" means by himself. And I maintain that this is BECAUSE he is hyperfocusing on protecting Takeru at all costs, mending their bond, being there and being needed by him. If he gets mad at Taichi and his decisions, you can assume it's because he is worried that they may affect Takeru negatively. The same applies when he gets mad at Jyou, at Sora, the pattern continues. He IS observant of his surroundings, but more as an outside observer who has to keep everything - and thus, the whole group - in mind to keep his brother safe. He may also project his own perceptions onto the group, which is why he shouts at Taichi to be more considerate and leave everyone time to mourn.
Takeru's main objective on the other hand is not to be perceived as a burden. He is painfully aware that he is the youngest member of the group, "a kid and a crybaby", he already deals with abandonment issues that are only fueled further by the events taking place... It's pretty obvious that he adores his new found family and wants to be part of it at all costs, he wants to be equal, not to be underestimated. That's why he seeks to be close to those who validate him - such as Taichi or Sora, who don't belittle him and his emotions, but encourage and even give him tasks of higher responsibility, such as protecting Hikari. And since he hates to see the group drift apart, he will go out of his way to keep the team together - like I pointed out, he knew exactly how to cheer Sora up and validate her in return!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Analyzing their behavioural patterns in 02 and onwards is a little bit more difficult. 02 in particular is turning their characterizations on the head a little; Takeru is more prone to "generalization", he still watches and observes the behaviour of people around him and adapts accordingly (like playing the troll towards Daisuke or the protective shield towards Hikari - whom he also hyperfocuses on btw.), but he tends to think very black and white when it comes to the power of darkness. And considering his past experiences, that makes perfect sense, because darkness threatens his found family and he can't let that happen. Yamato on the other hand, ever since his own dark cave moment in Adventure, is a lot softer in 02 and approaches people a bit more personally (like when he drags Taichi out of his self-doubts, talks to Iori about Takeru's trauma or explains to Koushirou's mother why her son is worried about her).
Tri isn't exactly making Yamato anti-social again, but puts more emphasis on him getting angry and shouty once more; sure, he had those moments in 02 too, but this time, his hyperfocus does not revolve around Takeru, but Taichi. I still believe that he has moments where he is observant towards others (like whenever he is protecting Meiko), but the majority of his actions, group-related or not, have Taichi, his state of mind and behaviour, at the back of his head. He investigates things on his own and offers to abandon Omegamon because he feels Taichi is not ready for the burden, he takes over the role of the leader for Taichi's sake, etc. (A similar situation happens in the stageplay, even though the main focal point here is Gabumon.)
Takeru feels a little more like an extension of his Adventure self here, he is still dealing with self-esteem issues (hence why he and Meiko keep apologizing to each other whenever they talk), his biggest fear is to see the found family or even just single members (Digimon included) disappear and so, paying attention to them individually is crucial (like validating Sora, taking care of Koushirou, teasing Yamato, etc.).
In Kizuna onwards, Yamato has a hard time staying in touch with the majority of the group aside from Chosen Children duty, but he is still resourceful and goes investigating on his own, knowing that the 02 group may be capable of providing vital information. Takeru on the other hand is fully engulfed in focusing on his writing career, so him being observant has not only manifested as a part of his personality, but it's a thing he enjoys for the sake of his future profession as well.
Tl;dr: I personally feel like Yamato is a lot more goal- and less people-oriented, which may sound contradictory, because his goals DO revolve around certain individuals he hyperfocuses on. He tries to be empathetic, but not for the sake of the individuals, but for the sake of THAT one individual. (I hope I could put that into words well, maybe I need to sleep over it once again, it's just really difficult to convey what I mean.) Takeru on the other hand is more people-oriented due to his abandonment issues, which is why he may be paying closer attention to how and why people act in certain ways.

6, 10, and 17 for rgg (in general)! also 19 for judgement specifically
Tumblr media
Oda. I mean. I don't think i have to elaborate lmao
it's not even that he's human trafficker (dont...take that out of context) or that he trafficked Makoto at all. It's that he NEVER expressed one ounce of regret for his actions outside of how they affected his unrequited crush Tachibana. He never even fucking apoligized to Makoto. But the narrative and Kiryu act like had a redemption arc and it drives me up the wall.
I also really hate Nishitani...but I've gotten into fights about this so i shant say any more
Tumblr media
ALL OF RGG? Hmmm...Blood of a Lion by Beast in Black! Very thematically resonant to RGG
Tumblr media
Such a cool question. RGG has been such a presence in my life for so long it's shaped some of my tastes so I'll need to think about this
In general I do prefer dark, more grounded stories. When it comes to crime fiction, my favorite subgenre is noir. And I mean REAL noir, bleak and dark and a dismal ending. RGG's levity and...pushing suspension of disbelief beyond limits is unique for me.
Gameplay-wise, i do NOT like brawlers and I usually play on easy to get through the combat. This doesn't apply to Ichiban's games obv (the opposite for me there - i LOVE the gameplay) and Judgment's combat is so good and smooth that it MAKES me enjoy the brawling gameplay. But Kiryu and the protags of Y4 feel so sloggish to me that I'm more withstanding their gameplay than enjoying it.
Also all the objectification of women. Really not into that.

now i AM writing a sequel fic but as it's specifically a kuwagami fic, it has a large dose of self-indulgent contrivance so I'll pitch a J3 I think RGGS would make
With the Kaito Files we've seen Kaito is a formidable detective himself and can handle his own case load. Also we're LUCKY Kimura has returned for this. But he's expensive so we can't use him too much.
So let's make this a dual narrative told between Yagami and Kaito sections. They will still interact with each other at certain cutscenes so we get plenty of their nice chemistry but for the main plot they are working on their own. Yagami will team up with Saori and Sugiura at points and Kaito will lean on Hoshino and Tsukumo.
Let's start with Team Yagami. Saori has a case where she must defend a client on a robbery case. Problem is, even tho he's been caught on camera, he INSISTS he was not in Kamurocho at the time of the robbery. And he is not lying. Yet when Saori tries to press him for more info, he clams up. So she conscripts Yagami to do a private background investigation on him.
Meanwhile Kaito is out with Higashi when he sees an old Matsugane family member. He goes over and starts catching up with the guy but he's acting a little weird. He then dies quite suddenly in front of Kaito, the victim of a poisoning. Kaito follows up with the police on this clear murder but they're going to rule it as a choking and close the case. Kaito is immediately suspicious and decides to dig deeper.
From there, the plots will grow more complex as always and introduce a cast of delightful villains to fight. The Health Ministry will be involved. The plots will dovetail at the end where Kaito and Yagami (and Sugi and Higashi and Tsukumo on support drones) will kick major ass 🥰
Thematically it'd tackle the further consequences of the Great Dissolution, including some of the shit that happened in IW, and it'd also explore Kaito's inner life a little more. Yagami's side would have him unpacking a lot of what he went through in LJ. And Saori will NOT have to get dressed up as a hostess. But Hoshino will 😈

coming to your ask box to tell you that what you said about kuwana being protective of yagami is real and true actually. if kuwana weren't so busy trying to keep himself safe, he'd be doing more to try and keep yagami out of this (though he also desperately wants to be with him more). kuwana knows that yagami can handle a few scratches (and an explosion apparently, lmao) but he would take it very personally if anything ever happened to yagami ....i think. perhaps we're having shared delusions
thank you jichan, you're still the only one ever
yeah. though, he knew if he just went and disappeared without letting yagami know where he's going, it would kinda slow his process of getting into shit and endangering himself, even if for a bit. if kuwana actively and purposely involved him into everything, yagami would be in much more trouble i think. killing him was always an afterthought for RK, but if he'd be involved with kuwana more, well... it just paints a target on his back. and yagami wouldn't try to hide. he has ties to other people, he has something to lose.
so pushing yagami away and out of this all was a bit "two birds with one stone" kind of situation
though he also desperately wants to be with him more
yeah lol, i just realized that when kuwana gives him the pendant so he'd help ehara, he says that yagami is the only one he can trust with it, and like, really? you have lots of accomplices whose actions you can literally control, jeez, man xD
and of course kuwana suspected (or anticipated) that yagami would use this against ehara, so there's that also. but. his motivations are a mess, so we can be a little delusional about this as well i think
and an explosion apparently, lmao
explosion is nothing compared to all injuries yagami suffered in the end of JE, kuwana figured, he can survive a little explosion <3 it'd be good for him <3
but he would take it very personally if anything ever happened to yagami
no no, you're right. i mean, he does beat himself up over sawa, as well as mitsuru. he couldn't not feel responsible if this case would lead to yagami's demise as well. if anything, i can't say that kuwana doesn't care about other people. he even cares about his students even knowing that they despise him (i can't stop thinking about the fact that he agreed to meet with yagami so they'd release mamiya... it's not like he was afraid she'd spill everything, i mean, he tells yagami about a lot of things himself)
or maybe i really want to think that kuwana is a better person than he actually is. idk.
tbh i doubt my characterization of them a lot, hence all these disclaimers lol. and i really want to know other's opinions and why i can be wrong in how i view them? i mean, we are a small community. i can see people disagreeing with me, though in silence. but i want to discuss this, because i strive to see all sides of things, and i think it's fun to take their relationship apart again and again
i re-watch quite, uh. let's say, often the cutscenes featuring the two of them, and sometimes the moments where there's only mentions of them. i've started to write an "analysis" of each scene and their (presumed) reactions to their interactions, because it really does make things clearer in my head. i'm replaying the game rn, trying to see anything beyond my insanity lmao, but it's still just one view on things, you know? i really want to have a discussion and see where i can be wrong. and just... it'd be fun to listen other people talking about my favourite characters.
(is this approach insane? of course! but i'm having fun at the very least, and if i can have fun two years after i've finished LJ for the first time, well, i'll take it.)
when i say that i think about them a lot, i really mean it lol. (that's not my first rodeo, so business as usual for me.) but even if i strive to open-minded, and even if i re-visit canon again and again, it's hard to not be biased about lots of things.
and, yeah, i'm really glad to hear that you agree with me on this hc. but even if you, or anyone else, didn't, i'd want to hear all about it

bestie… thoughts on richard x henry because while im a papenathy girlie at heart…… they intrigue me terribly
inhales. ok.
i get where people get into it, what with richard's immediate 'henry is a god' vibe and also henry's protective instincts (paying for the bunny fiasco, rescuing him from hypothermia, etc) and general interest where richard is concerned. there's clearly some 'i'm just a broke-but-brilliant not-like-other-girls small town girlie and now i'm at college the hot smartest guy in class is suddenly looking out for me' romance novel energy there. plus it's arguably like... The most important study group relationship?
from myyyyy perspective, the interesting thing is kind of what henry sees in richard, and where that goes. his assessment of richard is so intriguing to me?? like.. original disdain for his homer comments and general Poor Vibes (hysterical) vs acknowledging him as a friend but still excluding him from bacchanal attempts (lmao) vs when he finally tells him about the murder fiasco- there's Very Obviously at least some part of it that's pure cold manipulation ('oh richard i knew You would get it'), but is that it? there are several moments throughout the book where despite henry's de facto position as group leader and richard's as group add-on, henry seems to turn to richard as something of an equal, whether that be because of his background (poisoning tips) or because richard is (somehow) easily the most pragmatic person there and henry trusts him to keep everything together. my personal favourite henry and richard interactions (besides the funny ones) are the rare occasions on which richard gets actually mad enough at him to speak frankly to him, whether that be going 'no henry you can't fucking poison bunny jesus christ' or yelling at him towards the end of the book bc he's gone full light yagami. it's when he comes closest to just seeing henry as a normal person. but henry to richard in so many ways is more of an aspiration than anything, bc he's so enamoured by/impressed by him from jump, and i think it's sooo telling that henry is what haunts him years down the line. he 'can't think of himself as a murderer' and he has no bunny ghost, but twenty year old henry winters still walks his dreams to cut him down and leave. if that doesn't show both the messy depth of his feelings vis a vis henry AND the way in which his feelings towards henry are also a reflection of his self-hatred(/later guilt)....
overall i do find the whole haunting / worshipful abstraction stuff very sexy conceptually. and i really genuinely enjoy what we see of their actual Friendship in the book. but for me at the end of the day the former stops the latter from really taking effect, bc henry imo never would reciprocate the depth of richard's feelings. there's too much of an imbalance there, and even when the disillusionment settles in richard never gets henry off the pedestal bc henry kills himself at twenty and immortalises himself in doing so. i like my relationships between parties who are on equal footing and who have similar feelings towards one another, whatever those may be (#egalitarian #leftist), so in terms of romanceee it's just not my gig.

Characters that fascinate me:
1. Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter): after re-reading HP again, I started to put more effort on dissecting the interactions between Dumbledore and other people, especially Harry and Snape. Dumbledore's strategies, plans and the use of emotions of other people for his favours and for the greater good is for me unlike what most people consider, admirable. I have heard many people mention the fact they hate Dumble's because he is "evil", I like morally grey characters and the fact is Dumbledore's actions were not evil in any way. Did he raise Harry to die? Yes. But that doesn't mean he did that for fun (or ounce presented a way to save Harry he didn't make sure to prevent his death). Every step Dumbledore took was to defeat Voldy in the end, who was committing mass genocide. To prevent deaths of hundreds, thousands of people, it was okay for him to sacrifice certain people (mostly Himself, Harry and Snape). I also think Dumbledore could or should have been in Ravenclaw or Slytherin because his qualities matches those houses more than Gryffindor (also can you imagine how conflicting it would have been for Harry if Dumbledore causally mentions he is a Slytherin or if he was a Ravenclaw there could have been more characters in that house than Quirrell and Lockhart of all people)
2.  Daria Morgendorffer (Daria): if there was a character that I could relate to the most, it's her. Daria's cynical outlook, her quick wit, her quotes are so entertaining to watch. Its really amazing to be able to have a character that represents the perceptions of the quiet kids. As one of them, Daria is the representation of rebellion against the power hungry, capitalistic and tone deaf world we live in.
3. Amy Dunne (Gone Girl): this woman sacres me. She is the epitome of the perfectly imperfect villainous yet fascinating character that captures your attention. She is a psychopath. She is a liar. She is deranged. And I can't help liking her as a complex person.
4. Wanda Maximoff (Wandavison): from her ability to manipulate the minds of all the original avengers (except Hawkeye) in age of Ultron to her batshit crazy powers in multiverse of madness (including the fact defeating the entire illuminati while dream walking), Wanda had come far from being just another avenger to one of most powerful beings in the current MCU. And all of that due to a mother's love, shows you how powerful loss and love can be.
5. L. Lawliet (Death Note): world's top three detectives, the boy who stopped WW3 as a kid, the blueprint for Wammy's house, the deductive genius who almost captured the worst serial killer in history. L will never cease to be interesting. His backstory reveals that L was always the best, no matter if he could defeat Light Yagami or not (he sort of did defeat Light as he knew Light was Kira the 1st time he met him). The most interesting aspect of L is how neutral his moral ideals are, on one hand he spends all this time (literally, as he doesn't sleep) to solve the Kira case, on the other hand he isn't reluctant to play with people's emotions and sacrifice certain people to reach his end goals. While L is the antagonist, everyone loves him as the hero to Light's protagonist villain. I do love L as much as the next person; what I love more than that is how he is just as morally grey as Light but stays on the grey part and never becomes the villain he could be, something that Light became.
6. Allison Dilaurentis (Pretty Little Liars): in my opinion, the most evil of the onscreen Mean girls (except for Courtney Shane and Chanel Oberlin). Allison in the first few seasons was the most fascinating aspect of the show, the sheer power she holds in Rosewood, the way she manipulates all her friends, the way she could destroy lives of anyone she wants is the best part of her character. But after her return from the "dead" she became kinda boring and not the fantastic villain we wished she was. Like, they could have made Aria "A" instead of evil British cousin and made Allison the one controlling Aria, as it was clear Aria was hiding something about herself, the show also gave many clues about her and she seemed be the person Allison liked the most among the liars (she also got the least torment from Allison as well as A). It makes sense if they were both working together. But no, that's too predictable! You have to pull the evil twin plot for shock value!!!!
7. Regulus Black (Harry Potter): he is the best example of a good Slytherin (*ahem* Snape *ahem*). The best thing about his arc is he used to be a death eater but changed sides after knowing how shitty Voldy is, protected his house elf and sacrificed his life for the world. And had a better reason for changing sides than someone very similar to him (*ahem* Snape *ahem*)
Ps: I did not die. Next time.

Thanks🥺💖
3: I mostly write start to finish? Like when I started out I vehemently wrote start to finish, but nowadays it's common for me to write in order and then occasionally skip ahead a small bit while fleshing out my outline to type a rudimentary version of an interaction or thought process so I don't forget it by the time I get to that point. Every once in a while I'll hop around by choosing to just write whatever point in my outline that struk me in the brain on how to do, usually because I have writer's block on the scene before, but rarely do the stars align for this.
5: I am ngl, the perfect environment is basically just cozy and homey and comfortable, but it wildly shifts between "No sounds. NO SOUNDS WHATSOEVER" and "Play that music that you're obsessed with on repeat it will give you the energy". Although the sound thing probably depends on how over or understimulated I am
7: Hmm probably...the getting myself to write bit?
Coming up with ideas? Mostly figured out. Doing the outline? Let my brain go wild as it gets obsessed with the idea. Dialogue and fight scenes? Sure there can be struggle here and there, but got that. Editing? Only freaking sucks when the fic is long or when I'm stressed and also can't tell if I hate it because it's bad or because the brain is bad
But getting myself to start writing takes the most struggle and can often feel like I'm just waiting for the stars align and for it to just happen (which it can actually, just not reliably enough to rely on it)
19: Ooohoo this is a good question and it'll probably not have an easy answer
So, in general, I have the easiest time with characters I am 1. Obsessed over and 2. Have spent a lot of time thinking about and/or writing meta for. For example, I've done a lot of Riku pov in my kh fics, and I think even today Riku's pov is one that I can fall into naturally, even if it's been a while since I wrote kh fic or back on my hyperfixation bullshit (and sometimes if I'm not on it at all). Even if I haven’t written a fic, just the act of doing media analysis and thinking about them and having gender envy can get me in the headspace enough for them to be easier, because I have an idea of them in my head and I feel as if I almost *get* them
In general, the hardest are ones for properties I have just gotten into or for characters that I might love but haven't quite fully dissected yet. For example, I've been a zelda fan for ages, but writing the Ghirazim fic was difficult. And you wouldn't think that, cause it's a dumb crackfic for a crackship, right? But on top of having to balance two character who are from completely unrelated properties, make their personalities play off of each other, make their similarities obvious but make sure to balance this and make it clear what makes them different so you're not equating them as the same person, and try to make them convincingly have feelings for each other while also being in character, I had to write Ghirahim. And even though I love Ghirahim and have been a Zelda fan since I was young, it's only recently I've been digging deep into him, and I just barely had at the time, so it was hard writing him while also not having it from his pov. (Wow I just realized how that fic probably prepared me for writing lawlight wtf). And it gets harder if the character isn't one I'm currently obsessed with. For example, I can sink into Riku so easily, but even though I wanna wrote Terra ship fic, it would take perseverance to start, because I've never really written Terra Kingdom Hearts and I he doesn't live in my brain rent free, even though I do like and relate with him.
The easiest answer I can give you to this question is Light Yagami. He is easy yet hard. I can easily fall into his headspace but he takes so much work. The reason being is that I have done the first thing I meantioned. I think about him a lot, even if I don't always talk about him. There's scores of meta on the brain for him as to his morality, what an act is to him, the difference between his acts and the real him, pulling at all the strings to work out what is closest to who he is and thinking about what he's been through that makes up him, etc. I need to kiss him, I need to see him wrecked, he looks the best when he's on the verge of death, I have gender envy and just regular old envy for a few things (I also love when he gets kicked and punched in the face. I also love when he looses. Duality of man and all that. He's my seemingly put together and perfect neurodivergent bitch loser). I feel as if I can sink into his headspace. And yet....he's still so hard at the same time? No matter what iteration of him I'm writing, I always have to keep in mind what makes the versions of him different, how he would react in a specific situation, what times he would be fine letting go and which he would choose to hold back. It's like I'm playing a perfect balancing game of all the things that make up him and his acts, channeling my meta and character analysis of him through him, dealing with my own perfectionism. He is not easy. He is not hard. He's so easy. He's so hard. He's easyhard idk what to tell ya, but the outcome of writing him always feels so satisfying to me. So, at least all the effort and thoughts taken up pay off😂😂😂

HI STILL NIGHTGOWN ANON. im a silly little fella. I JUST SAW THE OTHER POST. IM MOTIVATED. IM GLAD YOU LIKE THE IDEAS! ILL TRY AND THINK OF MORE.
- i see... so you have showed poe popipo?? alright next up on the chopping block: 'AaaAaaaAaa'
- i personally LOVE rabbits. Just imagine little karl with little holland lop bunny :) OKOK THATS MY PERSONAL PREF HAHA
- imagine reader is a fellow writer, and they meet at like.. this writing convention or something like that, going to like the same publisher/editor?? thats how they met
- what if you met through ranpo? again, reader also writes and has like weird ideas and hes like: i gochu. i introduce you to racoon man! you: .o. hes perfect.
- reader reviewing poe ideas and just being like: bro that wont work r u stupid
- reader sitting on poes lap while he writes and complaining about him writing too much
- poe gets a hand injury bc he writes too much and reader has to take care of him (babying him)
- poe and ranpo have 'friendly' playdates (although they like to call it a debate between skills) and reader like you said, is the mediator between the two.
- reader and ranpo are besties. poe being the sugar daddy he is, buys reader everything they want. reader then proceeds to take all snacks and stuff to share with ranpo. poe then has to monitor both of their sugar intakes because... well...
- poe babysitting reader and ranpo
- ranpo babysitting reader and poe
- trio being unsupervised (jk kunikidas there to save the day)
- ranpo dies and reader uses poe as therapy/replacement. poe accepts their date proposal because he liked them. OF COURSE RANPO WOULDNT DIE THOUGH BC HES TOO SMART I LOVE HIM
- vice versa. poe dies and reader uses ranpo as therapy/replacement. ranpo accepts their date/proposal because he had his eye on them. SAME THING THO HES TOO BABY TO DIE
IDK these thoughts came randomly to my head while i was writing them. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF MY LOVE! ❤️
nightgown you're like a stray cat that shows up every now and then but instead of me giving you treats you're giving me headcanons and i appreciate it because poe is the blorbo ever 🤧 i love all of these so much WHAT
poe can't get behind miku he'd be like 'BUT SHE'S A ROBOT ON THE COMPUTER. HOW CAN A ROBOT BE REAL' 'no edgar she's a vocaloid' 'THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE' lol, also poe lowkey really does seem like a bunny type. those rabbits are very cute <3
it would be very cute if poe and author!reader met because they had the same publisher but it would also be adorable if they met at a convention that they were both featured at and they were like huge fans of each other, so all the bookworms there who went to meet you and poe just watch the two of you awkwardly interact ksjskskjs
there are SO many ways you could fit ranpo into a poe x reader. i've written myself a little bit of a 'ranpo with a younger sister who likes poe's books meets him and falls immediately' already lmao but ranpo, knowing that poe can be awkward sometimes, would probably deadass just lock you two in a room with a bunch of pens and blank manuscripts and be like 'go on then' LMAO
poe's books and poems are basically always a hit but when he's tired and suffering writer's block some of his manuscripts are a bit iffy. you've had to help him out of his slump a time or two. get all the terrible drabbles out of his system before he finally presents you with another banger of a novel. don't be too relentless with him though he might cry
and of course the beloved poe scenario where reader is like 'POE STOP' and he's just writing light yagami style like 'NEVER'. he won't stop if you sit in his lap or complain though. he is a hard worker and very creative, and much like myself must get his ideas out or he'll forget them immediately. maybe if you manage to distract him somehow? put on the nightgown JYGSJKHKKJBRKTW IM SORRY
if he hurts his hand...imagine poe being so sad because he's physically unable to write- he'd definitely try anyway, but you need to be like NO, BAD. you do get to spend a bit more time together than normal which is nice, but once he's healed it'll take a miracle to pull him away from his desk
trying to be the diplomat for these two would be a nightmare. ranpo's silly, poe's awkward, they're both bickering ;-; at least if you team up with ranpo you can convince poe to buy the two of you candy (he really doesn't wanna, but...T-T). you two are far too excitable and talkative for his own good. on the flip side, ranpo would just give up taking care of the two of you immediately because EUGH romance and EUGH being quiet and EUGH socratic circles lmao
also you three are lowkey a menace to society. like in all honesty you solve crimes together and work towards a safer society but also, two chatterboxes being followed around by a tall awkward man wearing a cape and accompanied by a raccoon? yeah.
i would HATE to write a fic in which either of my beloved boys die but picture this- you're dating poe and he dies somehow. you and ranpo are very sad, you bond a little more after his death and eventually begin dating. it's been a while and you and ranpo are still together, but then poe reappears out of who knows where and sees that you're dating his best friend... (vice versa works too- either way it's the WORST)

Reasons why I ship LawLight
It's been a year since I last watched Death Note and up to this day, it still remains on my TOP 5 FAVORITE ANIME (alongside Attack on Titan, Daiya no Ace, Gintama, and the Inazuma Eleven franchise).
Be as it is, the ship between L and Light holds a special place here in my heart. And today I want to talk about the reason why I am head over heels for this painstakingly beautiful ship.
Tumblr media
For a quick heads-up. "LawLight" is a non-canon ship pair from Death Note. The two person involved are Yagami Light also known as "Kira" and the Great Detective L otherwise known as Ryuuzaki. I believe that their trope belongs to the enemies to lovers. They are also the most famous ship for the said fandom.
I admit that I am a certified fujoshi. So when scenes like walking together under falling sakura leaves, going to a cafe for their date to confirm their suspicions about each other's identity, and was even CHAINED 24/7 were shown, I can't help but ship them despite the fact that they are LITERALLY TRYING TO KILL AND CATCH EACH OTHER.
Actually for me, what makes this ship so appealing is their cat and mouse chase. A criminal and a detective. The spark and sexual tension apparent in their battle of wits. Who shall fall first? Who shall emerge victorious? And I firmly think that this dynamic between them is also one of the biggest factors why this anime/manga became such a success.
In the eyes of a shipper, some of their interactions are seen as a potential fuel to lit a burning flame called romance. Another thing, they also complement each other.
Why? Well, let's look at Yagami Light first.
Tumblr media
Light used the notebook to alleviate his boring mundane life. Because of his high IQ, normal things don't ellicit excitement for him. Also, always hearing about everyday crimes, his strong sense of justice tells him to rid the world of this disgusting humans who continue to cause chaos for the world. So, immediately grabbing the death note as an opportunity to make his ideals a reality, KIRA IS BORN.
Of course, no matter how good the intention is. Taking lives is still a murder. And the fact that Light wanted to take advantage of the situation to become GOD OF THE NEW WORLD, it's true essence is slowly turning into selfishness. Just like any ordinary case, the police have taken interest, no, it's more accurate to say that they were FORCED to take interest. With no more cards to play, the worldwide police decided to ask help from their trump card. Yes, the world's greatest detective L.
Tumblr media
Hiding in a single gothic letter and synthetic voice, Light had found his other half. The yin to his yang. Why you ask?
It's simple. L is the only person who can match his intelligence. Who can see through his barrage of lies and alibis. He was the only one who doubted him, the only one who almost sent him to his doom.
He was the ultimate obstacle Light needed to overcome. Because of this thrill, of this danger, Light found true challenge. Other than the joy of killing criminals for his dream, battling with L brought an unexpected bliss deep within his soul. Because of L, his once dull world had been painted with complicated colors. L is the only one who can understand Light.
He is his enemy.
He is his Equal.
He is his captor.
Tumblr media
The same goes for L.
Being the number 1 detective in the world, I bet that cases has become repetitive for him. With his astounding deduction skills, he could immediately solve a case while eating his favorite sweets. Thus the appearance of Kira is a mystery for him.
A highly difficult game for him to solve and win. As he said himself, he is childish and he hates to lose. So in order to win, he's given away his identity. He steps out of his shadows and approached Kira himself. Maybe it's a call for responsibility, a call for justice, or a call for his pride, whatever his reason is, he's willing to risk his life.
When he made contact with Light, he had realized that Light is the only other person who can see through him. His trials, his tests. Light never fails to amaze and surprise L. He had even considered him his successor, even though he only used it to test Light, with the latter quickly grasping the subtle accusation.
He is his enemy.
He is his captee.
He is Equal.
No one knows if their relationship had gone beyond detective and a criminal. If they ever had a genuine conversation. One without lies and hidden intention.
Tumblr media
A talk as L and Light.
Looking at a watcher's perspective. A single particular scene showed a glimpse of their relationship. The rooftop and foot massage scene who fueled a lot of LawLight shippers.
Tumblr media
"The bells are unusually loud today." - L
At the rooftop, L had asked Light if he had ever uttered a truth once in his life. With Light regaining his memories, L knows that this attempt is futile, yet he still tries. And maybe, even held a little hope that Light would surrender himself.
Light on the other hand, as expected caught the meaning of his question, within that short silence, he contemplated his answer even if it's just for mere seconds. But because Light had already steeled his resolve, he chose to lie.
He had already made a choice.
And that is to kill L.
And L himself knows it.
At the stairs, an intimate scene between them is shared. Both are drenched in the rain, then L suddenly offered a foot massage to Light. For non-shippers, they say that it's a Bible reference.
Tumblr media
But for people like me, it's simply nothing but a bittersweet moment where for once, emotions are stirred and shared.
The atmosphere, their longing stares.
Light drying L's hair.
The exchange of words.
It truly is a very painful and touching picture.
Tumblr media
"It will be lonely isn't it? You and I will be parting ways soon".
Tumblr media
L is known for not showing his true emotions. Yet in here, he bares everything. From the way he looks at Light and that slight curve on his mouth, like he's very regretful of something. Maybe it's because he wasn't able to personally give him the verdict or it can also be what ifs and what would they have become if they didn't meet in this kind of circumstances.
On Light, he looked shock and somewhat sad. They say it was an act, but the knowledge of his arch-nemesis soon dying, the one who has been with him since this "chase" started, the one being who gave him thrill and pushed him to his limits, the one who for months, was chained with him 24/7, the only one who could stand as his equal, the one who made him feel, losing that person will surely give you mixed emotions, and I believe that the sadness there is genuine, even though it had been overshadowed by his delight for victory.
It was only a for a short moment but for once, they've dropped all facades as they face each other as L and Light, not Ryuuzaki and Kira.
After L's death, Light is shown to have lose some of his sanity. I've read in a site before telling that L was the one who's holding his ground. And with him gone, with the thrill of danger gone, Light suddenly found himself at loss. He spent months trying to rid of his enemy. His disappearance had caused a void in his heart.
I remember a certain scene where Light imagined L sitting at his usual chair. His eyes were dead and devoid of color. That's where he also started to lower his guard down. For him, L is his only formidable opponent, his other half. He is his equal. It proves with the appearance of Near, where Light says that he's far inferior to L. That he doesn't deserve to wear his mask.
Light had come to respect L.
Tumblr media
In Light's final moments, he sees L. A hallucination some says. But they're missing a point here.
The fact that L showed up, either his soul or an imagination, means that he had become an important figure to Light. Maybe he was thinking what L said during the times that they are wearing the chains.
"As long as we are wearing this chains. You and I are bound to share the same fate. If you die, I die." - L Lawliet
Yes, the chains are gone, physically. But because Light had allowed L to become an important piece of his life, he had secured the chain for L to held him captive for as long as he's alive...and if you let your imagination wild, even after death.
This are the reasons why I fell in love with this ship.
They're both broken.
One is blinded by power.
One had secluded himself from the outside world.
Their chase will never be forgotten. A game that only the two of them understood knowing from the beginning that they will never achieve a happy ending. This painful and bittersweet ship will go down in history.

* I smirk at him, shaking my head no.*First, Yes, I can see shinigamis... Second, no, this is not Misa's death note and unless you touch this death note you won't be able to see my shinigami, and third... Please... Do not assume that showing physical interest in me would make things easier for you, Light. I'm not that basic and would never be head over heels for someone like you just as Takeda or Misa. Sure I enjoy sex the most but getting fucked by Kira it's not in my plans... Yet. Now listen. I am the one having the power here to kill you. I, doesn't only have a shinigami that you can't control as you can't see him, but also the eye... So please, I would honestly appreciate if you just dropped that ridiculous act of good boy and talked clearly to me. I had assumed you were clever.
I may or may have not have a camera on me. Whatsoever, yes. It's like having L around here but beware... Cause I am not him. And right now, he is actually the smallest of your problems, Yagami.
*I play cool, serene. Inside, my head is spinning cause the fact that he trusts me basically depends of how much of a good liar I am. I know that L would probably kill me and that matsuda will be astonished. But to get Kira interested... You can only play hard. This could be potentially mortal but at the same time intriguing. So I'm praying he doesn't notices as this would mean my own death* now...what would it be....Kira? * I whisper the whole time enough to have the police hearing me as well as light but not the rest of the people*
✨Small font indicates internal dialogue
✨Also let’s imagine he had never worked with the Police Force on the Kira case before.
————
Light: *eyes widen subtly as his body seems to freeze momentarily*
She has the eye?
Openly admitting that I am Kira, serves no advantage, as that will only provide L with the answer he wants. She may be bluffing, as there were neither any absolute proof of her Death Note’s ownership nor those of her assosiation with the police. For all I know, she may be an independent third party that is attempting to expose me so that she can become Kira herself.
*forces his body to relax as he chuckles gently, crossing his arms over his chest in a relaxed manner*
Wow, Y/n-san, that was a bold assumption based off of the brief interaction we’ve had. I may find you attractive, but that does not necessarily mean I intend to bed you.
Tumblr media
In the case that she truly works for the police, I may not know what benefit she gains from offering L the truth about the Death Note and offering half her lifespan for the eye, but what I know, is that us two are like aliens in the eye of L. And I must make her see that, in a way that never fully reveals I’m Kira.
I am Kira this, I am Kira that. It’s almost as if you just wanted me to be Kira, even without sufficient proof, just to get this case over with.
*sighs as he leans back on his chair*
Can’t a man have a wonderful dinner with another person for once without being blindly accused?
But on second thought, unless L has the eye himself, he will never know if she’s telling the truth either. Perhaps, manipulating anything she says against herself might work.
You’ve said so yourself that you are the owner of a Death Note. Wouldn’t that make it likelier that you could be Kira?
For all I know, you may be working closely with the police so they would suspect you last. But what proof does L have against you, versus all that he had done to test me, time and time again in the past years, only to find that I am not Kira?
I may not know what “The Eye” is, but whatever it is, it sounds like something that cannot be proven and tested aside from the owner themselves, therefore, how would L or I know that it is not just another lie you may have conjured, just to use me as your scapegoat?

i'm gonna take a quite drastic route and say... mimi/iori? 😂
Okay, that was EXACTLY the kind of challenge I was expecting from you, Sky, ha! And funnily enough, you don't seem to be the only one fancying hearing what I have to say about Iori-related ships, hehe...
Tumblr media
Okay, let's do this, @earlgreymon & @uniarycode:
Send me two names among the following 12 and I’ll write a short analysis post about them:
Taichi Yagami | Yamato Ishida | Sora Takenouchi | Koushirou Izumi | Mimi Tachikawa | Jyou Kidou | Takeru Takaishi | Hikari Yagami | Daisuke Motomiya | Miyako Inoue | Iori Hida | Ken Ichijouji
Tumblr media
Whether canon provides input on them or not:
Granted, Mimi and Iori are definitely among those characters I personally do not remember interacting with each other on individual terms - meaning, both of them are always more inclined to interact with other characters and thus may or may not talk rather scarcely with each other. This makes it rather difficult to estimate how exactly they would actually interact and play off of each other - but that doesn't mean that there isn't a lot of things we could talk about in theory. Especially regarding the people they do interact with.
Because in theory, parts of their respective "chosen friend groups" are very likely to interact. Namely when it comes to: Miyako, Koushirou and Jyou (and maybe even Daisuke and Sora, but to a lesser degree, so I want to focus on these first three). And that's what I'm gonna work with in the next paragraph:
Whether I think why and how they’d work:
If we take Tri as correct timeline, in which Mimi returns to Japan, but add a scenario in which Daisuke, Miyako, Iori and Ken are actually around this time, I could see some kind of mutually admiring relationship being possible between these two. Since Iori and Miyako are spending a lot of time together outside of school, either with her helping him with computer stuff - probably all together with Koushirou -, or him hanging around at her family's store, Mimi would probably love to be around as well. Mimi and Miyako may be a bit too overwhelming in combination - which in turn would give Iori and Koushirou a bit more to bond over -, but this way, Mimi would definitely learn more about Iori in the process. Mimi is a person who is easily able to pick up people's strengths and doesn't shy away from voicing her admirations out loud; if they'd attend his kendo tournaments, she'd be among those voicing her support the loudest and letting him know how great she thought he was for being so determined, collected and thorough. Generally, I think she'd LOVE the whole kendo thing and try to attend as many tournaments as possible. Iori in turn would also admire Mimi for her straightforwardness and honesty and even though - similarly to Koushirou and Jyou, I'd say - he doesn't always know how to reply to her, he'd still be probably outspoken enough to thank her and reaffirm her as well. Also, if you don't think Jyou, Mimi and Iori wouldn't plan vacation stuff together - like going to the zoo, traveling through Digital Gates to get back to Australia, etc. -, you're wrong. I think Mimi would actually love being "a big sister" for once herself. Especially because they're both having very strong opinions on the things they like and don't like - so why not having them work for a good cause together in their free time, demonstrating, maybe even going to inform people about global warming? I could definitely see it, with him providing all the facts and her being the one to communicating them out loud.
Whether I’d prefer them as platonic or romantic ship:
As I've already pointed out in the previous part, I feel like they could have a great sibling dynamic. They probably wouldn't be the closest of friends and while I can't really see a romantic relationship blooming here, they'd definitely be mutually supportive and admiring each other for their strengths and enjoy the time they do spend together.

Hi.
:D
You already know what's coming.
Gimme Daisuke and Sora (:
Byeeeeeeeee
Hehe, gotta stimulate my creative writing skills a bit here, just you wait. <3
As pointed out in the Iora analysis post before, Sora, unfortunately, doesn't get too many opportunities to bond with the 02 Chosen Children on her own, as her main focus point among them is obviously Miyako. So basically, we only have two instances to work with: First of all, when Taichi reveals that Daisuke turned out to be one of the new Chosen Children, Sora is among the first to react to the news, asking whether it's the same Daisuke they went together to football club with. So it is already established that they must have known each other before. Again, unfortunately, that's about everything we really get about them here, because we don't see them interact with or react to each other.
The second instance is the Revolmon/Starmon episode, in which the gang (minus Takeru and Hikari) travels to the Digital World to save Piyomon - again, it's mainly Sora and Miyako who interact with each other, but there are a few minor instances that at least hint at them being comfortable and trustful around each other. For example, when Sora suggests that they can't wait for Takeru and Hikari to join them and should travel to the Digital World right away, Daisuke agrees immediately - which is actually unusual for him, since he normally probably would have insisted on waiting for Hikari at least. So we can assume that it's important to him to help his senpai, whom he probably also looks up to from back in the day in football club. During the episode, they're framed next to each other very consistently, when drinking milk, when being held hostage, etc. and they also share some nice "annoyed faces" at their "enemy". Last but not least, we get the shot above - Daisuke and Raidramon got hit by an attack and fall to the ground, just to be caught by Miyako/Sora and Hawkmon/Piyomon respectively. Sora's protective nature is still intact as we can see - so while this is not a lot material, we can at least assume there is groundwork for a mutually protective bond between the two. Let's get to the creative writing part, shall we...
Whether I think why and how they’d work:
Again, while it is somewhat hard to tell how these two would interact in different scenarios, I'd like to think of them as having a lot of respect for one another - as pointed out, it seems plausible to me that he'd look up to her in a similar way as to Taichi, whom he always adored and admired, probably even aspired to be like him to some degree. Watching his two senpais being absolute aces, I couldn't see him arguing with Sora the same way he does with Jun or Miyako, but he may actually put her on a (tiny) pedestal (similarly to how he does it with Hikari, who, obviously, is also linked to Taichi). In turn, Sora may have quite the soft spot for Daisuke trying as hard as he does - especially because she should be able to empathize with his self-doubts of not feeling good enough. She's also familiar with guys who have big mouths - so she'd also know how to deal with him in case his emotions would get the best of him to keep him in check.
Which is actually something I could see him doing for her too - at least once they're a tad bit older, because during teenager years, it's sometimes difficult not to spout out things you probably didn't mean to. But thanks to his relationship with Ken, it's easy to see that he can see through other people's insecurities with utmost sincerity and openness once he knows someone well enough - or rather, WANTS to know them better. Sora is pretty closed off in terms of her own feelings and needs - we can see that the other guys have quite the hard time getting through to her, because they too, are closed off to some degree. So taking someone who slowly but steadily overcame his own self-doubts for the sake of his own happiness, Daisuke could actually be a great person to help her open up. Making her understand that going for her own dreams and wishes may be difficult at first glance, she may step on a few toes because of it, maybe even face consequences here and there - but it's not impossible. And if 02 taught us anything - Daisuke would always encourage others to strive for the life they want to live. He can be a bit naive at times and may not find the most... Sensitive words in each and every situation, but he goes for what he believes in and he's blunt about it. Which is exactly what Sora could need in order to get in touch with herself better.
Overall, these two are pretty passionate about the things and people they care about. They also have a certain hot-headedness about themselves as a result, they both can get angry if people don't value them accordingly, making them feel underestimated, so it is possible that they could clash here and there - but when I look at them, I could see a lot of softness too, if they manage to be open with one another. In the end, Daisuke is growing into his own person, he may be the heir of Courage and Friendship - but he is neither Taichi nor Yamato and maybe, just maybe, that could be a great romantic match for Sora as well.
I could see them being silly together, I could see him asking her for a little football match to cheer her up or for a round of ramen when she's stuck with her exhibitions. I could see her wanting to give him confidence boosts in return as well, helping with the decorations of his restaurant or she might even design his own restaurant brand of work clothes - and he, being also very similar to Mimi regarding his bluntness, would be absolutely in awe of everything she creates and be also very vocal about it.
Whether I’d prefer them as platonic or romantic ship:
Well, thanks to @dutchforstrangers, one could say that these two may or may not be a little bit of guilty pleasure, hehe. Granted, I'll always live for Taiora and Daiken going to football matches together as a double date - but based on everything I've talked about above, I cannot deny that the perceived respect I can potentially sense between Daisuke and Sora is something that can be pretty intriguing. Because canon didn't give us a lot to work with, we gotta make it work in other ways, right? I know I keep mentioning how characters "can be good" for one another, especially those with underlying self-worth issues... But all these characters are very dear to my heart and have a lot of potential... So whether you see this as being Daisuke just looking up to his senpai and Sora respecting him, or them ending up in a mutually supportive and honest romantic relationship - feel free to come to us to talk about it. ;)
