silhouette graphic tutorial

per an anon request, i will be showing you how to make a silhouette graphic like the one above

so, first thing we need to do is find a screencap displaying an act of tragic love (or two separate screencaps if you want) and cut out your person/otp

(if you need further instructions on how to crop, please take a look at the following tutorial)

reduce the saturation until your image is black and white. we do this by going IMAGE > ADJUSTMENTS > VIBRANCY

and reduce them all to -100, like so:

now, we need to make the image either black or white. 

in this case, we will make it black, since it will be difficult to make will’s jacket white. we do this by adding as many brightness/contrast layers as necessary, in IMAGE > ADJUSTMENTS > BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST

then we add a color fill layer. 

if your image is white, the color fill layer should be black. and vice versa.

finally, we add a gradient fill layer. (make sure your image ends up being white)

we merge the layers into one image. 

and go to channels in the adjustment menu. select the dotted circle icon at the bottom.

go back to layers and add a layer mask

add another color fill layer in whatever color you wish

and replace the layer mask we just made onto the colored layer by dragging the layer masks over one another

add another color fill layer in a lighter shade of the one you chose

then we add textures!

i begin with a crumpled paper texture set to soft light

then i add a splatter pain texture set to screen

finally, for will & noora, i added an exposion texture set to soft light, with a 60% opacity

we will drag our image to the center of our canvas and turn it into a smart object

and then add a layer mask

we can use whatever paint tool we have to add a nice border.

for now, we can hide our image, so we can add the flower in the middle. for this, i simply googled “watercolor flower”, copied and pasted the image i wanted to the canvas

now, i get rid off the color. which is optional. we do this in the same way we did for the main image. IMAGE > ADJUSTMENTS > VIBRANCY.

and i set the layer to soft light

finally, we add our tragic quote. or lyrics. which we can type ourselves or.... since i am lazy, we can add a texture. 

and set it to screen and TADA!

Depending on when and where you do the do, Hikaru doesn’t necessarily need to sleep for a couple hours. But if you do happen to be completely limp from exhaustion, Hikaru will clean you up, make sure you’re hydrated and cuddle while you fall asleep.

hiii i've been missing doing fun little events, so i'll be opening my askbox for an indefinite amount of time to write for these alphabet prompts! y'all can send any of the saiki k characters for any of the letters! :)

hey okay I made this post on @queerandcrafty ages ago but I can't find it and I've been newmann synesthesia posting lately so I'm gonna just list numbers letters and their colours. yes I'll draw your names or words if you put them in my askbox, it might take me a minute to look out my coloured pencils tho. full words can kinda change their individual letters sometimes this isn't like A Science or operating on any art Theory sndbhsiais.

mostly this post is just like. record. for me <3

a- orangey red. b- indigo, pretty similar to 8 and m. c- sky blue. d- brown, kind of reddish? e- bluish purple. f- kinda vague. I think green? light green? yeah that's about right. g- dark green. h- yellow. i- soft pink. j- yellowish green. k- brownish red, autumnal. l- very mid tone sort of blue. m- purple that's very slightly on the blue side. n- midtone sort of pink. o- deep blue. p- light blue. q- that one actually varies capital or lowercase. lowercase it's a light yellowy green uppercase it's a blue like O but slightly lighter. r- another reddish orangey brown. closer to orange than k. s-yellow. t- green like triangles. u- light blue. v- darkish blue. w-light blue again. I promise these light blues are all slightly different just in the same category of blue. x-dark purple, similar to m. y- brighter pink. z- violet kind of purple.

1- light blue. 2- purple. 3- YELLOW I will FIGHT you over this I know I said triangles are green and they ARE but 3 is yellow I will NOT be taking criticism. 4- green and also a young boy who wears green overalls again I will not be taking criticism at this time. rectangles are red but squares are blue. 5- yellow again but like. different. more orangy. 6- orange and so are hexagons. 7- darkish turquoise. 8- deep blue-purple and octagons are blue. 9- very light pink.
