I am hoping to get into one of our local Christmas craft/artisans fair this year with my books. After the book festival I did in August, I know for sure some things I can do to make my table more visually appealing to draw prospective customers in (nicer tablecloth, decent-sized poster advertising my books, more bookmarks to give away for free, fairy lights to go around the table), but I would also like a few more decorative elements to have on the table itself. Even a couple of vases with flowers in them would be something, but I would really like something that would reflect the 1920s/1930s flavor of my books (I'll be selling both the Whitney & Davies series and Pauline Gray Investigates). I did some fun pieces of Art Deco costume jewelry at the book festival, but they were really too small to grab people's attention and stand out. I've asked my daughter about crocheting little mini-figures of Len and Maia (and I guess Pauline as well, though I admit I wasn't thinking of her when I talked it over with Joy), and while those would be cute I'm also not sure how well they would fit the sophistication level of the books--these aren't cute, cozy tales, as crocheted dolls might suggest. They are warm and gentle, yes, but not cute and cozy, and not particularly whimsical. Any suggestions?

i thought my laptop was on its last leg because it was running at six billion degrees and using 100% disk space* at all times and then i turned off shadows and some other windows effects and it was immediately cured. i just did the same to my roommate's computer and its performance issues were also immediately cured. okay. i guess.

so i guess if you have creaky freezy windows 10/11 try searching "advanced system settings", go to performance settings, and uncheck "show shadows under windows" and anything else you don't want. hope that helps someone else.

*yes sorry i mean usage i posted this before bed :( i do not mean the hard drive is full aaaaghhhh
