I can't stop thinking about that reader who goes off the road in a snowstorm and gets rescued by towtruck!eddie. Maybe the Byer's Bed & Breakfast is full, so Eddie says, "it's either come back to my place or freeze to death," and reader weighs her options because he's a grumpy tow truck driver. Plus, she hates the holidays, and she hates this town. The roads are closed, so she's stuck in Hawkins for a few days, slowly getting to know the people, and they take her in like the family she's never had. Except for Eddie, who pushes her away, because he thinks people are better off without him. Plus, why let himself get attached if you're only going to bolt the second you are able?

But then, the magic unfolds. Cue the fluffy snowflakes on eyelashes, precariously placed mistletoe, and an entire town conspiring to bring the two of them together.

Sorry for the long drought of not-writing. It will happen again. This takes place in the shared WRUniverse of Forgive and Forget, and Old Friends, and I’m sticking it in the latter (so also tagging that list).

What she hates most is taking the pictures. Some of the Pets automatically pose and smile when the camera’s on them, which makes it easy. Others need to be coaxed into shy, fearful smiles. Some won’t smile at all, or even look up.

She’s glad it’s someone else’s job to put them up on the website.

What she hates the most are the days when the WRU handlers come in to pick out Pets who can be refurbished and resold.

The whole shelter goes quiet at the sight of the black uniforms.

In the visiting rooms, she hears laughter, or sobs, or moans. Whether chosen or not, the Pets coming away from their time with the handlers always look haunted, afterward.

The money WRU donates for the Pets they reclaim helps keep the shelter running.

For days after the handlers visit, the pets behave perfectly.

But she hates how silent the shelter becomes.

What she hates most are the owners. Lifelong security is the promise made to prospective Pets. But their owners will surrender them for not matching the new furniture, or not fitting the latest Pet trend. For getting too old for their tastes, or getting too scarred.

Some don’t even bother with the shelters, tossing Pets out to survive on the streets however they can.

Some Pets are runaways, and the shelter is able to reunite them with their owners. But some owners just don’t care. Out of sight, out of mind. By the time the shelter calls, they’ve already replaced their runaway Pet.

She hates their indifference.

Almost done with Doctor John. Trying to sleep last night and my brain is like HEY HEYHEY HEY EHEY ARE YOU COMFY? What if Gaon got hurt again and Yohan's personal physician is retired or busy or something so he calls his friend Dr. Cha. Imagine poor Gaon waking up to a guy who looks just like his Yohan and is even NAMED Yohan but definitely isn't his Yohan and DOES have his hands all over him. After you jump down the hall you end up in the Worker Accommodations known internally as the Workers Barracks. The rooms with the Gestalt beds on the map are labeled as "A61" and "A64", but internally they're "Cell A61/A64".

The shower room, just called "Showers" on the map, is internally called "Inmate Showers".

I know all of this stuff was already pretty obvious thru context clues and looking with your eyes, but it's interesting to know they're straight up referred to like this in the data.

Lil tip to all y’all, especially hairy peeps like me; do not use bath bombs that have tiny little seeds in them. You will not get rid of them.
