making a reminder for myself to, in two weeks, drop my daily queueing down from five posts to three. my sprained hand is doing better!! :) and i want to build my queue back up!

As I hit 2000 posts and prepare to do the next “most popular tags” post, there are a couple other things I wanted to mention:

If you’re an artist and you want to be sure I add your work to the queue, feel free to ping me! Otherwise...well, I’m sure I’ll get it eventually...I’m trying...

While I continue to maintain a maxed out queue (300 posts) posting at the maximum allowed rate (50 posts per day) I’ve also been scouring blogs for art and storing it in my likes...the backlog is over 6,500 works now. Gah, there is just so much amazingness and talent in this fandom, I can’t even!

If there’s something specific you’d like to see more of, feel free to let me know - drop me an ask, like, “hey I’d love some more yanqing art!” and I can always go through my huge backlog of likes and specifically queue the things you’ve requested. (It won’t actually post for another six days or so, but it’ll show up eventually, lol)

I hope this doesn't come off badly or anything, but most of the posts I see from you now are just song recs. Do you every get frustrated with how many people send you song recs? There seems to be SOOO many.

Hey Nonny!

Honestly, not really, no; my blog has, oddly, always evolved to whatever everyone needs for the moment, as niches become available. After S4, people needed music to cope with it, so people just tried to find someone who would listen to them. It’s been one of the weirdest things I’ve ever had the privilege to witness, and I’m honoured to be that blog for people. I honestly don’t even know how it happened, the playlist, but it did, and people seem to enjoy it. And I’m one of those people who gets a weird satisfaction from making people happy: if people are happy, then it makes ME happy. It gives me a strange adrenaline rush :P

I understand not everyone enjoys it – in fact I dropped a lot of followers the more I do the Playlist – and I totally understand. I try to limit new Playlist entries to afternoon posts (3 max)... the only morning playlist posts are the ones that are queued for the auto-reblogs (which I do to keep my blog active), and I try to keep all my newest text, advice, fic and meta posts for my peak hours between 8am and 12pm EST. 

That said, I also meticulously tag all my posts, so if you’re bored of the playlist, I won’t be offended by you blacklisting “johnlock playlist” which both the new and queued posts are tagged with, so you can do that!

AND that said, it’s become harder and harder for me to find time to reply to the asks looking for advice or meta-answers... I’ve 600+ non-playlist asks in my inbox, most of them so old now that I feel like no one would care if I replied to them so I guess I just... put them to the wayside when I lost my mojo for meta after the shitstorm of S4 (it’s back now, I promise). I just honestly don’t get many of them anymore, so I guess I just feel like no one wants my opinion on things. Most of my asks are advice, fic recs and Playlist suggestions. Which is totes fine: I have a full-time day job, and then this blog itself, I catalogue from 6PM to 11PM every single night on the weekdays and reply to most of my asks and queue them on weekends, so yeah, to curate my blog is its own full time job LOL. I’ve been weening myself off for few hours a week so I can focus on other interests (like my artwork and writing) and to curb my chronic migraines I’ve been having as of late, as well as trying to take better care of my own mental health. 

But I can lessen the new song posts to one a day if you guys prefer; doing that will, in about 2 weeks, make the auto-reblogs space out between other queued posts. I just enjoy making people happy, is all. Or I can stop auto-reblogging them all together... I just do auto reblogs because many of my suggestions are anonymous, and a queued reblog ensures they will eventually see it :)
