incompetence is the root of her frustrations, the written report that detailed her spies' last failed reconnaissance mission crushed in her palm as she balled it into a tight fist. she despises traitors. she despises that their existence insinuates that she was blind to their betrayal, an insult to her own perception. [ giving the order fort hem to be hunted down was not enough. she needed to kill them herself. ] frost spreads, from the tips of her fingers and continues to crawl up her hand, undoubtedly consuming her arm beneath her sleeve. she does her best not to indulge in destruction now, trying to piece together her composure as if it's her last lifeline. what will it say about her if she cannot keep even herself under control? it is only then that the light above her began to flicker, a testament to her unrest.

and yet, even amidst the brewing tempest, chaos does nothing and allows mirage to approach her without once being touched by neither frost nor levin. her magic that remains a thin veil around her allows itself to be parted so that he could draw nearer, though perhaps she does not notice he was as close as he was until his hands come to cup her face with a startling gentleness. kira immediately tilted her gaze up to meet his own, the furrow between her brows easing slightly, as though the comfort in his touch is enough to elicit such a reaction. oh, how she adored this man. perhaps more than she is willing to say, and yet more than enough to reflect 'pon her visage without her having to utter a word.

the witch is unable to stop herself from huffing, though the sound was more amused than irritated. ❛    please, do not make me smile when i'm angry. you're making it very difficult to remain frustrated right now.    ❜ she muttered, rolling her eyes affectionately at him as she leaned forward, just enough to be able to rest her forehead against his. ❛    my beloved mirage, how i'd love to take a bite of your heart, because you already have mine. come with me, then? i have a few traitors to kill. you and i can make it a date.    ❜

i'm running late on getting this out, but i'm still reeling over the results of the @kirbyoctournament! i can't quite believe that starstruck- my pint sized waddle dee- made it all the way to the tippy-top against such intense competition. the roster was full of such an incredible selection of wonderful, loveable, and creative characters!

it's heart-warming to know that people out there really love my little wanya and her story, and i'll carry that with me always! 🥰💖

i am so grateful to everybody who voted for and supported starstruck (and i!) throughout the tournament, and i'd also like to give my thanks to everybody- moderators, participants, spectators- who made this community event as cool and fun as it was!! i met many new people and learned about so many wonderful new characters!

this piece in particular is dedicated to and features all of starstruck's competitors in the tourney, starting with jakkle doo from round one, right up to valfrey in the final round. it was a fantastic honour to compete against all of your OCs, and i look forward to hopefully seeing them around plenty more in the future!!
